I'm sorry. I can't stand it anymore. Taylor Swift is the living embodiment of capitalism. She gave you four versions of her album, with only one or two songs difference, before she even released the album. Y'all are going to be paying four times for the exact same product with only slight tweaks. Not to be like back in my day, because I'm just in my twenties, but if an artist released a special edition it was at least a year or two after the album and you only grabbed the one special edition that featured the song you couldn't live without. Maybe if you were an extreme fan of the artist in question you got all the editions, but only after you knew that you liked it. You wouldn't go out and buy four different versions of a book with a different forward before you even knew what was in the forward or what was in the book itself. And the thing about it all is that she knows that no one's going to protest this shameless cash grab, because they're just excited to get more Taylor swift. And the thing is that I'm not a hater, necessarily, I don't mind her music, but holy shit is she taking advantage of everybody. This isn't about artistic integrity or whatever else she said about the re-recordings. This is about new albums that HAVEN'T EVEN RELEASED YET that she COMPLETELY OWNS. No wonder she's the best selling artist of last year because she has 50 million versions of every song and every album, not even talking about the re-recording. The whole thing leaves such a sour taste in my mouth.

how to actually do html and css

web design in 4 minutes - this is the site that really made HTML and CSS click for me, following along as the author describes what’s he’s doing to the webpage and showing how it changes the presentation (you don’t need the book he shills at the end. i did without)

w3schools introduction to html - takes you through the very basics of creating a website, lesson-by-lesson. big goldmine for code to grab and scaffold off of once you have some basic skills

mozilla’s html guide - also a great beginner’s guide by the people who made mozilla, although i didnt use it as much as w3 schools

brackets.io - this is the program i use to write the files i use for my website. lets you do splitscreen to work with two files at once, gives you a breakdown of all the files in your website’s folder, and will let you autofill commonly-used tags and files in the code. supposedly has a live preview function but it doesnt work that well for me when i’m using a second monitor, which i normally do when coding. just save the file and refresh the page instead. 

(side note: i work in a software external to neocities instead of directly in the neocities editor because 1. local files update with a refresh and neocities has to update the cookies AND download all the website info again once you update, and 2. it effectively gives you a mass undo button if you fuck up because you have your files hosted in multiple places (local and online). yes its kinda annoying to have to manually upload all my files especially bc you cant upload whole folders AND you cant move their locations once uploaded but i prefer it to working directly on the site. if you have a neocities pro subscription ($5/month) you can mount your website directly on your machine as opposed to the neocities dashboard, which basically means you dont have to manually upload the code every time you change something -- it’ll update automatically)

codepen - if you prefer something browser-based to work in then try codepen, i used it a little bit at the beginning when trying to troubleshoot some code i didn’t quite understand. you need an account to actually save your work and im not sure if it actually lets you upload folders bc i never signed up lol

premade engines/sites/themes/etc etc

neothemes or eggramen or templaterr - if you wanna get a quick start on a neocities site, you CAN use a theme generator/premade theme. if you go this route i would still heavily recommend trying to learn HTML and CSS, and then go into the guts of your own website to try and pick it apart and change it to your liking

zonelets - a static blogging engine that uses HTML, CSS, and javascript. made for use on neocities but theoretically useable elsewhere. takes about 15 minutes to set up (if you use a default theme, but its pretty customizable if you know what you’re doing) and requires you to 1. write blog posts in html and 2. modify some code in a script file every time you want to upload a post, but it will automatically let you browse posts in order once you get everything uploaded

rarebit - a neocities webcomic template — havent used it yet but looks cool, and seems to operate off of the same principles as zonelets. 

glightbox - this is the lightbox javascript code i use when i want to display a lot of images on one page. i found this code via clicking “inspect element” on a neocities fanpage that the webmaster drew a lot of fanart for. you should click inspect element on neocities pages that you like so you can understand how they do what you like (you can even look at their css by clicking the style.css link you have to include at the top of your page)

I'll never understand why some Sakura fans as well anti/pro-SS crowd keeps dragging Itachi into their fanwars. The arguments usually are the same: Itachi traumatized Sasuke (so he doesn't love him/isn't a good brother) and Itachi killed innocent people (so he's a bad guy). That what Itachi did to Sasuke, neither Sauske would do to Sakura and nor Sakura would ever dream of doing to Sauske.

Fair enough.

He'll agree with you. But the truth is... It's much easier to love and empathize with Itachi than it is to love Sakura. I'm not anti Sakura. I like her as an independent character and don't get the hate either, but won't be dragging Itachi into it to counter this hatred for her.

Itachi gets love not because we think he's a good/innocent boy who did nothing wrong, but because how interesting he is. How his character moves the story forward. How, without him, most of the story would not be as interesting and poignant as it is. In more than 700 episodes of the anime and the manga, he might be a minor character, but he impacts the story more than most characters do.

If you're applying your irl logic in the Naruto world and judging the characters and their motives based on them, then that's not my problem. But let's also not act like Itachi is all what your opinion restricted to his wrong doings allows you to see. He never goes on to acting like a saint. He never goes on to acting like he's the best brother ever. He knew his flaws, his mistakes, as well his love. He knew even if he wanted Sasuke's forgiveness, Sasuke didn't have to forgive him. He knew.

He never made his life, choices, or, you know, anything at all, about himself. A child soldier, a traumatized kid, forced into making decisions adults ought to be handling... Right, you're very wise as an audience and objective in thinking he should not have messed up. :)

Having said that, I'm strictly anti-SS. SS was never about two individuals, it was always about Sakura's feelings. She wanted to accompany Sauske when he deserted the village? It wasn't because of him, it was because she would be alone. I lost any interest in her as Sasuke's potential life partner the moment she decided killing him was the only way to save him from "darkness."

There's a lot more, but I'm not interested in the ship.

The bottom line is - an interesting character in fiction is always more than welcome than a bland one. A character influencing the story will always get more exposure whether you like it or not. Itachi, in all his glory, is a flawed and interesting and an empathetic character. Your hatred for him won't change anything how we feel about him.

So, Ecosia is incorporating AI chat into their search page toolbar, like a lot of search engines are now, and we're having thoughts about it. Those thoughts mainly being "this is a bad idea that will spread misinformation more quickly, same as the other AI chats in other places do."

You can contact Ecosia through the "Contact Us" tab on their main website. Here's the message I sent them;

Hello! Unfortunately, as a longterm user of Ecosia, I think I have to step away from this search engine now. AI chat technology should not be implemented anywhere near informational search features, as AGIs are an unreliable way to retrieve facts, and often generate falsehoods in the pursuit of unique sentence structure. Incorporating this feature into or around a search engine, even just as a chat, has a great risk spreading misinformation around the internet. Many people do not understand how AGIs function and trust them in the same way that they trust general search features. Thank you for reading this email and have a good day.

It's more effective if you take my general message and write your own instead of copy-pasting, but still. Maybe we can start sending in some feedback to discourage search engines from dropping AI into their tools willy-nilly like this? Yeah.

In honor of this blog’s One Year Anniversary, here are my top 3 BSD theories (in order of most to least likely)

Theory 1– Albert Camus, the author of The Stranger, will show up within the next few chapters.

Look, we’ve been in Meursault for a while now. We’re all in agreement that Meursault is named after Meursault, the protagonist of The Stranger, right? 

I’ll take this theory a step further and say that Camus will use his ability to restore Meursault to its original (undamaged) state. It’s very impractical to have security measures that destroy large portions of the prison, unless, of course, the prison can be restored quickly and easily. 

Additionally, it doesn’t seem like it would be too much of a stretch to say that by restoring the prison, Camus can fix the elevator Dazai is currently stuck in and falling to his (improbable) death. We have seen abilities being able to work so long as they’re surrounding Dazai without touching him directly (as seen when Nikolai teleported him out of his cell, and in the 15 Light Novel when Rimbaud extended his ability underneath the ground so that Dazai wouldn’t be touching it). Either way, we know there’s no way Dazai is dying in an elevator crash, and I’d really like to see a Camus Ex Machina.

Theory 2– Higuchi’s ability.

I’ve seen a lot of theories floating around regarding what Higuchi’s ability might be. Although most of them are really good, I personally think a lot of them are too powerful to make sense to introduce this late into the story. There would have to be solid justification for why Higuchi doesn’t use it in battle, or why she isn’t sent out to fight the more dangerous enemies of the series. 

However, Higuchi’s primary job is combative, and although I’m not entirely sure what her job is, she seems to be higher ranking than the Black Lizard, and she’s able to give them orders. So her ability is most likely something that would be helpful in combat. 

Which is why I’ve reached my theory that Higuchi’s ability is Pain Nullification. 

Pain is a very important sensory response because it lets you know you’ve been injured and you should be careful. Many wounds are survivable so long as you treat them soon enough and don’t aggravate them more after receiving them. But what if you weren’t aware that you got injured in the first place? What if you kept fighting with stab and bullet wounds? You’d most likely bleed out quickly, and although you might not die (depending on how severe the wounds are), you would at least pass out. 

[the following paragraph has facts taken from a bunch of google articles, so most of it is semi-plagiarized, I am not smart enough to know any of this off the top of my head] 

There are people born with the condition called CIPA (Congenital insensitivity to pain and anhydrosis) which prevents them from feeling pain. Most people born with this condition do not live past the age of three, and half of them die from overheating. If the body cannot sense heat, it will not be able to produce sweat to combat the heat. In short: it is very, very dangerous to be unable to feel pain.

She may also be able to use her ability on herself and her comrades in moderation, to help them fight— furthermore, it makes sense that she'd be paired with Akutagawa, given that she could make his lung condition more manageable. Since there is nothing to be done about it, it will not aggravate it further if she nullifies the pain.

Theory 3– The surgeries on the Hunting Dogs are a lie.

Yeah look this one’s gonna be short because I’m not sure if it makes any sense. But. Hear me out. 

You’re telling me there’s a group of overpowered Ability users, whose abilities and physical bodies are enhanced far beyond any normal person… and they’re led by a guy whose ability is to enhance his weapons far beyond any normal weapon? Really? And I’m not supposed to believe that he’s just enhancing them?

 My guy here definitely seemed like the type to view the fancy government ability users he’s in charge of as weapons. C’mon. What do you mean he’s not enhancing them. This is a genuine question I’m so lost on this. If anyone wants to explain this to me. I’m open to here whatever explanation the manga gives.

Omg it's October... this is bad... i need to prepare myself already from all the tokrev characters birthdays... tumblr will keep explode day after another... Peh yan, Inupi, Hanma, Rindou a.k.a those characters with lots of fans...

I did the math (which im bad at) and the average duration of birtbday celebration among fans last 2-3 days minus the actual birthday and the day before (which is the actual birthday is Japanese time) so the explosion celebration will first start with Peh yan in the 14th and then 3 days after that we get Inupi's celebration starting from the 17th and since Inupi is a fanfav im guessing it will last 3 days so there's a day pf celebration that'll share with the Japanese time of Rindou's birthday which is in the 19th and then 3 days of pure torture for me specifically and until Hanma's birthday which is the 27th while the celebration will start the 26th there will be 3 days of mental rest for me before the final explosive Hanma fans content that im guessing will last at least 4 days and we will get to breath the e-air in tumblr in the 2nd of November...

This is gonna be a long month...
