I'm listening to the Bungou Stray Dogs Opening Themes and I wanna draw fanart so bad but I've got dumb responsibilities >:/

It's a bit of a long post, sorry

I drew OC stuff yesterday but never posted it and I feel like that was a good choice on my part honestly.

I'm quite busy today, but I'll try to post some BSD sketches later on, and I'll most likely be getting cotl sometime this week. (Why do you have a plushy but not the game? Because I thought I'd have the game by the time I got the plushy lol)

I recommend expecting more fanart than usual! I got a new drawing tablet, it's completely different from my old one and I'll probably end up doing fanart while I figure stuff out~

I also want to do some Danny Phantom stuff because it's the anniversary, but I'm not entirely sure what or if I will. (May be the brief return of Phantom's Façade)

Anyway, today is an all or nothing posting day, I will either post nothing, or everything!

thanks Artisul for letting me try out their SP1603 LCD Sketch Pad!   

after using it for a couple of weeks I’m impressed, especially for a budget display tablet- the buttons and dial are super convenient and easy to program ✍✨

a decade ago when I was in college Wacom didn’t have any serious display tablet competition- even now Wacom’s budget cintiq starts at $650, so it’s kinda bonkers that you get comparable pen pressure with a textured screen (so used to other options being JUST glass gross).

small nitpick: the stand is a little flimsy so the drawing angle isn’t super comfy (the size doesn’t help but I have big hands).   BUT for $400 I can’t complain- a great beginner display tablet for students on a budget/cheap in between if your usual tablet gives up the ghost 👻

The pen does this wierd thing where it doesn't go under the pencil and it's disorienting

Changing the settings doesn't help much either

it appears 2024 will continue the trend of art companies proudly representing themselves with the use of art theft generators [aka, AI generators]

original tweet is now deleted, but wacom used a generated image of a dragon for their 2024 lunar new year promo on twitter.

if you're shopping for art tablets, huion, artisul, and XPPen tablets do just as good a job as their wacom equivalents for less, sometimes even half the price.

when you buy a wacom you're paying almost exclusively for the Brand Name, not any actual quality.

Artisul asked me to review their their SP1603 15.6" LCD Sketch Pad! gonna try it out for the next couple of weeks and see how much I like it!

My first impression is I’m impressed with the size/how light it is- my first display tablet was the Cintiq 12WX and it reminds me a lot of that but way more modern- not as clunky, bigger display size!  Feels like a nice mix of an iPad and a Cintiq.
