Obviously this is totally up to you and I respect that you're the moderator and allowed to have Feelings about politics but I was hoping we could have Israel included. I believe its current government is absolutely deplorable but if we excluded every country with an awful government, that would exclude a significant number of countries. And while undoubtedly most people are going to associate Israel with the current war, there's so much more to the country and region, with thousands of years of history and culture that I think are well worth recognizing. It might be nice for people to be able to learn a little more about the country beyond the current war. But yeah, I moderate a few blogs too and I get how it can be hard to navigate personal feelings when moderating and this is a sensitive topic for many people now, so it's totally valid whatever you choose. People might also be awful in the comments of that poll; I guess that's something to consider. Feel free to not answer this ask if you'd rather not publish it.

I understand your feelings and I’m not going to say it’s a definite answer. There are other countries I’m including that have terrible governments and are also responsible for genocides, even current ones (such as azerbaijan). My choice to not include Israel specifically comes from the fact that the entirety of Israel is stolen land, differently from other countries that are occupying lands, but they would still exist in their own land even if they were not. And mostly as a gesture of solidarity with palestinians. I know either way (including or not), there will be people angry with me. But this is what my conscience thinks it’s best right now.
