hello…life updates lol

i saw the little mermaid with my mom and my niece (we went on my mom’s birthday 💌) and i loved it??!? i think halle was the perfect choice for ariel!! i was so enchanted by her mannerisms the entire film. she’s got such an otherworldly beauty so paired with her voice she REALLY looks and feels like a disney princess…loved her so much. no comment on awkwafina’s unfortunate addition to the film

we’re restarting one of our long running dnd campaigns and i’m pretty sad about it ❤️‍🩹 it’s the best choice because the setting was made by our DM a long time ago and she wants a reset because she’s improved her narration/lore/etc since its creation but it’s still sad and hard to let go. i’m really excited to relive some of my favorite moments with some new twists and i have a deeper understanding of my character now so i think i’ll only end up loving her more as i replay her. dnd with my friends is truly one of my favorite hobbies and it’s so important to me! there have been so many changes throughout the years i’ve played but i’m so glad to still be playing despite it because it’s very fun and therapeutic lol

i got a raise at work 🫨 not that it makes much of a difference LMFAO but i was seriously considering leaving my job before my raise so it’s nice to be making a little more money. the cost of living in washington is so insane that i feel really unsure of my future lol but it’s seriously my dream to own my own house. just a little one story house that i can call my own. i know it seems like a small dream lol but it’s literally my number one motivation and i’m always daydreaming about how i’d decorate my own home inside and out!!

i finally bought tears of the kingdom and i’ve been obsessed with it!!! not surprised because i loved breath of the wild lol. i love link so much he’s such a cool protagonist. always wanted to be like him when i was a kid LMAOO either him or sheik! i would say i’m more like a deku scrub…💀 like look at this fella…

THATS ME…the lil angry face. love these guys. anyways i love the game LMAO i hit about 50 hours and realized i should maybe try tackling my first dungeon 💀 it’s just so much fun to run around and collect ingredients and koroks…plus i have a little pack of zelda amiibo cards so every day i hop on and scan them all so i can open treasure chests as a little treat…love it!!! i can’t wait to see king sidon again btw. that’s the light of my life

ever since my OCD diagnosis i’ve been avoiding my therapist (L) and struggling to really understand why but i think it’s because i feel guilty about being diagnosed LMAO…i have like this weird fixation on unknowingly manipulating/lying to others and my brain keeps trying to convince me i manipulated her into a diagnosis. i don’t feel like i have “real” OCD if that makes sense. and i feel this weird sense of guilt about making light of it or like taking resources from people with real, severe OCD. it’s frustrating because i know that’s definitely a symptom of OCD but i also feel like none of my symptoms are legitimate and they’re just delusions. it’s incessant. which like logically is that probably just a symptom of the OCD? yeah but i also am having trouble admitting that to myself for some reason lol. at least not without guilt or shame attached and i really try to avoid feeling that way if i can. anyways it’s a real pain in the ass and i finally sucked it up and made an appointment for tomorrow so i can try to talk through some of this with her

i’m up and down a lot, it’s been the worst year of my life i think lol but somehow i’m still chugging along 💀 every day i put the rainbow clown wig back on and march thru my day despite it all though so it’s whatever i guess. definitely going thru my saturn return and ngl so far it sucks and i definitely hate it but you know! my 20s have been Not Great so maybe my 30s will be better for it. hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. let me know what you’re up to in my inbox if you want! i always like when people message me their life updates lol. it’s sweet when people think of me as someone they want to update ❣️

I love both Punchy and Bob but it seems a bit much to have two lazy cats in the same village. Prior to amiibo cards it wasn’t much of an issue since only one of the two would happen to move in lol but yeah I lucked out and got both cards back in new leaf and FUCK. The indecision.

The way I see it, having overlapping species is fine—I have two cats and two octopuses after all—but if you’re gonna overlap personality types as well it’s gonna get boring. At least diversify the species, y’know? But yeah it is a problem when there’s so many great villagers witv that overlap. Wolves have it bad especially

There is a BIG update with Moon today!

To start off strong, the residential services building is now built! And not to mention, Isabelle has now entered the chat! I am so happy that Best Girl is now in the game and has joined the party on Moon! I know she will be a huge help with the process of making Moon so well known that the one and only K.K Slider will want to perform here!

On a slightly less weighted note, I have started the construction of the campsite! I just wondered who will be my first camper...? All I know is that my amiibo cards are sitting in a Ziplock bag and are begging to be used lol.

That is today's update! I hope you all are doing well out there. I know this time of year can be hard on a lot of people so I just wanted to say that I love every single one of you and also to say "thank you" for following me. I hope I can make content that you will enjoy and also just feel safe with. im finally at the tingle islands and like...they added in the sound of wood creaking in the wind when you walk over these long narrow rickety bridges...thats so FUCKING GOOD was that there in botw???

ok, i temporarily left the island to receive assistance with my KOROK SEEDS!!! that i couldn't get. thank you to CATHERINE<3 for helping me solve not one but TWO block puzzles that were defeating me

first one below hateno and second one over in that little area under zoras domain. so normal. like 3 turns of a block. i couldn't get them. tetris champion title revoked

and ALSO credit to cathy for finding a tiny alcove that i could not see from my bike. i flew all over that fucking place but it was so small i just missed it from the air. thats 3 seeds i never would have gotten w/o her. but also i told her how to do the cork puzzle

the thing is like none of this is online yet right...so it's just like, in 1986, when there was no internet and everybody played the original nes game. like you'd just trade the hints and tips yourself in the schoolyard or some shit, like if you knew where one thing was and your friend knew where the other thing was. we are literally partying like it's 1986. #problemsolving old skool vintage style. quite literally taking the series back to its rooots in every single way as intended

I’m using nookazon for the first time because I was tired of trying to get some items on my game and they just never appear and probably never will. I’ve always disliked the fact that they block certain items/colour variations and recipes so you have no other choice than trading, mainly because most people want to make a massive profit out of anything and gets very annoying when I’m all chill and I just want to complete catalog (or at least have more variation in it). I’m not interested in accumulating bells or nook miles tickets... I managed to find some people that were more in the same vibe so I made some exchanges and they all have been super nice, and I love seeing other people’s islands from the sky. But the majority of people I’ve seen so far on Nookazon are going for profit. Then they’ll complain about Tom Nook lol So anyway, if anyone wants to trade anything or are looking for something specific feel free to contact me and I can check what I have. The only thing I would ask in return is either something I don’t have (either be the same item/s you want in a different colour I don’t have or some other item I don’t have so I can complete my catalog) or you just pay the cost of the item at the same price it costs in Nook’s Cranny or on Nook Stop (mainly because I’m not rich). I’m open to touch trades as well. I tend to not save many recipes because they take too much space, but whenever I remember I’ll make a post with any spare recipe I have in case anyone wants it for free. If you need something I can DIY for you I would only ask for the materials to make it, that’s all. Please be aware that depending on what you want I might not have the item right away if I have to order it from my catalogue first so it could take a day (and only five items as we all know). Finally, I did manage to get a pack of the sanrio amiibo cards. I’m still debating how to go about that because I don’t fancy being nice and then people reselling the items for crazy prices somewhere else, defeats the point. But also, screw Nintendo and his stupid way of blocking 3/4 of the players from getting the items while scalpers resell for crazy amounts...

How to use amiibo cards!

So I saw I had a few requests to explain this, so here we go!  Disclaimer I guess is that this was my experience and it might not be the ~exact~ order of the steps

First you need to unlock the campsite!  This happens after residence services is built when Tom Nook wishes to talk to you about putting your island ‘on the map’ so K.K. Slider will visit.  

After placing the campsite and allowing it to be built you will need to wait a day or so until a visitor arrives.  Then you kind of are forced to have that visitor move to your island, and after they do Tom Nook will talk about ‘selling land’ and wanting you to place homes for future residents to move to.  

At some point after the new villager moves in go to your ABD, Tom Nook will tell you that it has new functionality etc. which is the amiibo feature.  Using the amiibo feature is easy, you just scan your card on the joystick and the chosen villager is summoned to your campsite.

The part that was tricky for me is next! 

Each time you want to pick a new location for a house it will cost 10,000 bells.  No crafting or anything, just the upfront cost.  YOU MUST HAVE ONE SET UP FOR SOMEONE TO MOVE IN.  It also appears to me that you must have the villager visit THREE TIMES.  Also, I would wait until the last time they visit to place the house, as while I was doing the 3 separate day visits someone else moved in to the house I had set aside for Erik.  So I had to go place another house etc and now I have a villager I’m not thrilled about LOL 

So, scan the card, have them visit 3 times (and I would say craft the item they request each time) and then when you mention moving in they will go talk to resident services and if there is an empty house lot they will move there the next day!  If there is not a lot they will tell you that they were told the island is too full for them.

Anyways, I hope this helped!  I probably got some things not entirely correct but oh well.

my amiibo fam !! they’re split across my room between this shot glass cabinet and the staircase display. the main factor of an amiibo’s location is its size, the larger figures either are too wide to fit in the spaces or stick out too far so the door cannot be closed (it’s a cheap plexiglass window that got scuffed a bit so open door pictured here) the staircase also ends up housing some non-amiibo friends from time to time.

someday I hope to get a better display for these guys, while keeping the staircase. the shot glass cabinet is really nice for them except for the size limitations, so perhaps a custom-made cabinet? *thinking emoji* we’ll see lol

I have most of the amiibo I want right now, but there are a few I’m kicking myself over missing out on: -Splatoon 2 Inkling Squid & Girl (found the Inkling Boy alone) -Super Mario Oddyssey Cereal Box amiibo (couldn’t find it in stores when it was available) and i’d like to get these fellas someday but i’m in no rush: -Incineroar -the original Splatoon 3-pack recolors -a Luigi

i’ve also got a full set of the Animal Crossing amiibo cards, but those don’t display well lol, they live in a binder.
