thinking about how the idea of aromanticism isn't nearly as widespread as it is on Tumblr/various other corners of the internet

thinking about how most people would probably assume the use of Aromantic as a descriptor would imply a lack of any kind of love or romance or close interpersonal relationships in their music which is INHERENTLY NOT TRUE

thinking about Lovejoy choosing Aromantic specifically, confident enough in understanding the actual concept/culture of aromanticism to describe their entire band

thinking about the potential for there to be someone(s) in Lovejoy who is either on the Aromantic spectrum or has considered it as a possibility and has researched it to understand it (and maybe themselves) better

thinking about hard about Lovejoys songs and realising that despite a few having vaguely romantic or implied romantic connotations, you could absolutely do an aro-spec reading of their whole discography

If he wakes up first he doesn't wake you up. You do the same. The first one to wake up quietly starts their routine and lets the other one get some sleep,

I feel like Ash would be a kind of person that would listen to a full album in the morning. It could be something new, something you both know really well, something on vinyl or just played on Spotify. Always when you two have a morning together (which doesn't happen as often as you would like to) there is music playing and phones out of sight. I think he would read you the newspaper while you both drink coffee,

"We are going out bye" selfies >>

There would be a bunch of chords and guitar pedals in the corner of your living room or bedroom. He would always ask if its ok or does he have to move them somewhere else,

He would always show you new melodies he came up with. Your neighbours aren't so pleased,

Your flat is the hangout spot for your friend group. Everyone is always welcome but you still ask each other is it okay if someone would come,

Every week you would go to a flower shop together and pick a bouquet that would be decorating your coffee table. Sometimes it would be just hand picked flowers,

Lots of walks especially after dinner. You usually end up sitting on a beach or in a park,

Because Ash does concerts and tours you are not always with him so when he's at home you try to make the most of it. That doesn't mean that you are constantly together - if anyone needs space the other one respects that,

Obviously you argue sometimes; I feel like Ash would go silent during arguments. "You know, communication works when both sides say something and listen" - you would often say. Usually during argument you would say something with anger and he would just sit there and not say anything. It pushes you over the edge when he makes a face or scoffs. Seeing no sense in raising your voice you usually go for a walk or to the bedroom - just to be alone for a moment. When you come back he has collected his thoughts and you both start talking without excess emotions.
