The little blue bug Doppio finds is a rosalia batesi! They’re well loved because of their bright blue, even appearing in Resident Evil, but they only live in Japan, so this guy’s a long way from home!
It was also seen in PPP!

watching the first episode of bates motel and first thoughts on norman: i feel bad for the kid…. his mom is clearly upset that she lost her husband and is projecting it on her teenage son which is what makes it a little. Batesy

Had some time for digital art yesterday so bam have Boracious! The regional bug type of my region
A Bug/Dragon type, Boracious have a ravenous appetite and can decimate large forests if hungry enough. It's powerful jaws can easily rip through steel.
It’s inspiration is the Banded Alder Beetle and the shiny is based off the Rosalia Batesi Beetle!
A couple more things about the design
I did swap out and alternated the colors from both palettes and now I’m debating if I should have it so it’s a Hippopotas situation, with the male and female having a revered color palette.
Also, this isn't shown, but Boracious has markings on the back "jaw" of its body
Something like that ^^^
I wanted to do this so it looked like a face when it clung on to objects.
I might end up changing it so that it appears that way when it's looking up instead of when it's looking downwards
