#been thinking a lot about chuuya lately (shocking for me i know (said with no sarcasm truly lmao it is rare for me))
Text
kinda wild to me that one of the most compelling aspects of both Chuuya and Kunikida's characters to me, that I never really see talked about, is how they're heavily set on a doomed crash course towards complete and utter destruction, and how I am so, so worried for them both.....
#bungou stray dogs#been thinking a lot about chuuya lately (shocking for me i know (said with no sarcasm truly lmao it is rare for me))#cause of the 15 manga and also playing the fucking jeht quest in genshin impact ugh (where's the one dual genshin bsd fan who Understands)#but like this pressure has been building up for chuuya for so long due to being used and manipulated by all these people#first the sheep then mori then verlaine then still mori now#he was groomed since childhood just like dazai#but unlike dazai he didn't have an oda to help him get out of the mafia........ he's still stuck there#and his personality is different from dazai's. dazai was more self-aware imo (but still a groomed emotionally abused kid don't get me wrong#but chuuya's whole thing is needing to belong and wanting a leader to be loyal to but ending up in positions of leadership himself#which makes him feel pressured but he accepts and stifles any negative feelings just because he wants to belong#and all this crushed him with the events in the light novels and yeah he went through character growth but he's...... Still In The Mafia...#and that fucking scene asagiri added to the cannibalism stage play i don't think hardly anyone even knows about bc IT'S NOT DISCUSSED ANYMO#where mori emotionally manipulates him with the flags!!! and it deeply hurts him!!! and he presumably deals with that shit all the time!!!#it is WORRISOME. it WORRIES ME okay.#chuuya doesn't have anyone who can save him from the mafia (dazai is in no position to okay; it's all he can do just to try to save himself#and it's so so scary. it spells awful things for him.#didn't asagiri say he'd have a rough path or something??? and he added that fucking scene in the play!!! it haunts me!!#i fully expected this shit to hit a turning point in the meursault arc but we can't have nice things i guess#and as for kunikida a;lskdfl (took me this long to get to him oop) literally the ending of Entrance Exam (the novel) is just#One Big Foreshadowing for Kunikida's downfall#he's compared to the azure king for a reason. Sasaki saw the azure king in him for a reason. it's fucking worrying!!!!!#there hasn't really been anything like that since in the manga (just like for chuuya lol ugh) but he's TERRIBLE at coping with his trauma#and it only gets more apparent once shit hit the fan in the doa/hunting dogs/meursault arc#it's not good!!! i'm worried for kunikida too!!!!#even if the manga isn't focusing on this these worries are always in the back of my mind man#both kunikida and chuuya are doomed to hit some kind of breaking point eventually and i await those moments with dread yet anticipation#i want dazai to be able to save kunikida from the despair being too good a person brings the way he couldn't save oda#and chuuya.... if we get a scene with him & mori mirroring the one in dark era where dazai finds out that mori orchestrated the kids' death#oh man i think i'll fucking die (give it to me i need to cry)

"1 hour huh? Ok then miss assistant, l have something to talk about."
First part
...
....
.....
"y/n right?"
"uh yeah?"
Did that sound more like question? Oh i hope it didn't
Honestly you were scared af right now. Yumi didn't even look like the Yumi you knew.
Right now you were at her home, in her room, sitting in her chair and drinking the tea she brewed.
Is this poisioned?
Probably not, but the way she was behaving right now you would have some doubts.
You both have been in the same position for like 30 minutes. 15 minutes of sitting and avoiding looking at eachother and 15 minutes for tea. During this, no words were spoken between you two.
"Osamu is pretty charming isn't he?"
"...he is, i think" you didn't know if you should've agreed or disagreed. She was smiling and was looking at her tea while swirling the cup.
"he's charming, attractive, funny and..." She looked at you, "he's mine and mine only" that smile turned into a smirk.
You still didn't know how to react to this. Like always, you were confused as hell. Yumi stood up from her chair walked to her window.
"you see me and Osamu met eachother at the age of 14. Everyone around me said that we matched very well and i thought the exact same too. Then Chuuya came in the picture and we were the best trio anyone could imagine. Of course i felt amazing with all the attention i was getting, who wouldn't? But then Osamu found you, things changed after you came" you could she her grip tightening on the railing.
"Y/n, when i first saw you entering the office with Osamu, i was very angry. Why was Osamu coming here with another girl? Why was he holding her hand? Who is she? A lot of thoughts similar to these came to my mind. Theses thoughts stayed for a lot of days and i could say that younger me despised seeing you"
what?
Now your whole body was definitely shaking. You were beyond shocked, "you despised me?"
"yes y/n, i despised you and i still do. I hate people who don't know their place and you are definitely one of those people. I kept quiet for so long and acted nicely infront of you because i thought you would stay away from him by looking at our relationship but when i saw you two talking and laughing yesterday, i couldn't control myself" She was right now infront of you, holding your chin in a very harsh manner.
What she saw yesterday was true but there was something she didn't know. Yes, you and Dazai were talking and laughing, it was about Yumi's upcoming birthday and the gift Chuuya and him brought. It was completely a normal conversation.
"M-miss please let me explain-" she stopped holding your chin and wiped her hand with a tissue. "I don't need your explanation because there's nothing to explain here, stay away from Osamu"
She called a guard and told him to take you back. You did nothing but follow the guard.
He asked whether you would go back to the port mafia or your home since it was pretty late now. You told him you would like to go back to your home and quickly showed your address.
You didn't know when you reached your small home. The conversation you had with Yumi made you feel like the bad person in the story but you knew that was wrong and you were clearly innocent.
You tried to get your mind off these stuff and just take a shower.
That's when you realised...Dazai had reached the pm hours ago. You never told him that you would be absent from the office and you also remembered you left your phone on your desk....
I'm fucked
(hello guys^^
this is a continuation to the last fic idea. Here y/n finally finds out what type of a person Yumi is. I hope y'all would hate her too :D
At first it would feel like Y/n is just a side character or the narrator of the story who has some interection with the characters but after this things would get more interesting
Again I'm not a writer and also a person whose first language is not English so if someone finds this interesting and want to rewrite it with their own twist then they can definitely do it, just don't forget to mention me :)
Im gonna write hcs on my next post and it would be mostly about Dazai and y/n's boss-assistant relationship.
I have 2 more different fic ideas but I'll probably post them after this idea is fully posted,
Anyways i hope you have a great day/night.

Soukoku (Dazai X Chuuya)
“Your married?!”
I apologise for any spelling or grammatical errors! I am dyslexic and proof reading isn’t my best skill.
(This is 638 words!)
Dazai ran into the office, quite obviously short of breath. He had been running.
“You’re two minutes late Dazai.” Kunikida stated.
“I tried to be on timeeee” Dazai wines in his usual sing song fashion.
“What do you have going on in the morning that’s so important you're late for work.” Kunikida states. It was said as more of a rhetorical question, as he didn’t think Dazai had anything going on, ever.
“Well it’s none of your business.” Dazai was serious this time- and walked away after his statement, leaving Kunikida stunned. He’s never serious about his whereabouts? Actually, come to think of it, the agency didn’t even know where he lived.
The agency didn’t keep a record of postcodes, but the team usually went to each other's houses if they didn’t live in the dorms.
Dazai had a dorm, but if anything he used it for storage, and he went home every evening.
Whatever happened next is unexplained, but it ended with Dazai literally pinned in a corner with no escape, and the entire agency surrounding him. He couldn’t resist now, he had to answer all their questions, and he was feeling quite truthful today. It was too tiresome to keep up the mask all the time.
Kunikida started the questions, “Why are you never free after hours on a Wednesday?”
And Dazai answered truthfully, “It’s my turn to make dinner on Wednesday.”
Silence.
The room was engulfed in silence.
“You have a girlfriend?” Atsushi asked in utter shock.
“Nope, but I do have a husband.”
Even more silence, followed by a single giggle from Ranpo.
“You figured as much I’m guessing, Ranpo?”
“Yes, I never believed your double suicide with a woman thing. I mean yes I bet you want to commit double suicide and all that- but I can’t see a single heterosexual bone in your body.”
“Well done Ranpo! I am in fact married to a man!” Dazai announced to the room as he pulled out a necklace chain from under his shirt collar, at one end there sat a black ring with a single small diamond in the middle.
“Ok then, who are you married to? It’s the only part of the puzzle I can’t figure out.” Ranpo stated, shocking the people around the room, he always figured things out. But there was just too much about Dazai he didn’t know.
“Hehe.. you're not going to like this, especially Kunikida… has anyone ever heard of Double Black?”
Kunikida’s interest was absolutely peaked by the fact that he ‘wouldn’t like it’; he didn’t like a lot of things about Dazai but if he was so sure he wouldn’t be happy with it, it definitely made him question who it was.
“Double black? The duo from the Port Mafia, famed for bringing down an entire ability using organisation over night? People speculate one of the members was Nakahara Chuuya, but had no idea of the other’s possible identity.” Kunikida listed off.
“Didn’t people think that the duo were also lovers? Or was that just me? And they haven’t been spotted recently, although apparently they still do some missions that don’t have any meaning to any organisations in the area?” Ranpo also interjected.
“Yes, that one. Well, it is Nakahara Chuuya, and I’m the other member, surprise!” Dazai said losing confidence half way through his sentence.
Silence filled the room once again.
“We are married. We live together and everything- and to answer your previous question, yes I make dinner on a Wednesday, AND I’m in charge of breakfast every day.”
“WHAT?!”
“Yes I know no one expects me to know how to cook!” Dazai jokes.
“You're married to one of the strongest Port Mafia executives.”
“And yet he’s only strongest when in a duo with me?~” Dazai’s iconic voice comes back slowly with each word.

🎶, 🍆, 🎯
🎶 Do you listen to music while you write? What song have you been playing on loop lately?
I do! I have tons of playlists for different fics, as well as ones that are just instrumentals for when I really need to focus. I have one that is basically just “for sad scenes in the rain”, I have one for the Skyline pigeon fic which does in fact have the song “Skyline Pigeon” in it as well as a bunch of Neighbor Totoro songs, I have a pretty giant one for the Howl AU…etc lololol as for what song I’ve been playing a lot recently…uhhh I have to check actually let’s see:
Ok so for the Howl AU, while I’m working on the epilogue and such, I’ve been listening to “Patience gets us nowhere fast” by Capital Cities, as well as “When can I see you again” by Owl City.
Also just as a general skk song: “No Lullaby” by Siames!
Oh, and less as something for a specific character and more just cause I like the song: “Loving You” by Cannons :D (I know that was more than one song but I like music alskdjfj)
🍆 Do you write the spicy stuffs? If so, what’s your most popular nsfw fic?
…Ok so I have written a singular spicy stuffs, but I posted it on anonymous because a), I know at least some minors follow me and I didn’t want to inadvertently encourage anyone to read content they aren’t ready for (speaking as someone who had too much internet access as a kid and got exposed to certain things way too early), and b), I have an irl friend who may stumble across this account at some point and if they see that fic in particular then I will die a little on the inside.
So I won’t be linking it here, but if any of y’all are adults and want me to link it to you in a DM then I wouldn’t mind, just keep in mind that I am not a particularly adept spiceologist (seriously no clue what I’m doing, that fic is mostly an excuse to mess around and experiment with character stuff in a really low-stakes premise), and also the fic spawned from a “hey wouldn’t it be funny if” thought I had, which then grew a character study around what is still essentially just a goof.
Also of course y’all can probably find it on your own, I don’t think it’d be that hard lol — but if you are a minor please do not talk to me about the fic, I would be extremely uncomfortable.
(I would offer to make a sfw version but unfortunately the nsfw is baked into the stupid premise jskdkdjfhf) (…actually some parts of it are kind of a sillier version of the Skyline Pigeon fic so I guess I am working on a more serious and sfw version of it)
All that said, this (sfw) bit from it still makes me laugh, so here:
Tumblr media
🎯 Have any of your readers accurately guessed major plot points? Care to share which?
Just about everyone who knew the plot of Howl’s Moving Castle before reading the Howl AU (and even some people who didn’t!) guessed what the twists were going to be before the ~grand reveals~ (although fewer people caught on to the Oda reveal, I think in part cause that one was more based on the HMC book rather than the movie) and I was honestly expecting that going into it lol —
I felt like trying to make it shocking would be less fun than the readers being able to accurately piece everything together for themselves. I loved seeing people commenting “OH MY GOSH THAT’S WHAT’S HAPPENING” as they went through the chapters, because it meant they were thinking over all the clues! And that they cared about the story enough to do that! And even though most people knew what the “twists” were going to be, they still seemed excited to see how everything was going to pan out, so I had a great time :D
Ah, also, to be more specific cause I just realized I was being vague (spoiler warning lol): just about everyone knew that Chuuya was Starlight, most people guessed Rimbaud was the scarecrow, and I saw a handful of people figure out Oda before that reveal happened, too!

annoying things they do
summary: small things these guys do that just grinds your gears a bit.
characters: oda, dazai, kunikida, twain, akutagawa, atsushi, mori, poe, ranpo, fittzgerald, steinbeck, chuuya, yosano, gin, kouyou, higuchi, alcott and lucy
these are all based off things i do or have inconvenienced my life lmfao i’ll probs do a part two with everyone i missed this just got wayyy to long lol next im posting being friends with double black
Oda:
If you're wearing shorts and have bruises he will poke them when you're resting your legs on him. He’s silent about it too and if you yell at him he pretends to act like he doesn't know what you're talking about.
Will smack your sunburn but this one is actually an accident. He just wanted to pat you on the back because you're amazing.
Will space out when you talk too long, sometimes certain objects are just so… mesmerizing
Dazai:
Loves to jumpscare you the only exception is if it was a trigger. In that case he will just call your name and whip something at you for you to catch at random.
When you're driving he likes to reach over and honk your horn. It's almost caused so many roadside fistfights.
If he sees a dog in public he will bark and growl at it.
Kunikida:
Won’t let you on the bed without socks on. You could be sick as a dog and he’ll still enforce this rule.
Cleaning is hard because he has a hard time throwing things away. You'll spend extra time as he holds two identical pens, trying to decide which one he wants to keep. He’s learned to plan certain days in his schedule for cleaning now.
Won't let you turn up the music in the car and will keep it at a level that's so low it's annoying.
Twain:
Walks around the house shirtless but then complains about how cold it is.
Blasts his music so loud when he wakes up in the morning and it's always early 2000’s hits. It's not rare for you to have Pocketful of Sunshine by Natasha Bedingfield stuck in your head by 9 am.
Always has to climb something, this stems from his adventurous side. It's not really that annoying but when you’re in a crowded area and he runs off to go climb the tall statue, screaming at you to take a photo… Yes it is. Especially when children try and follow him and you're stuck receiving glares from the parents.
Akutagawa:
Will not let you throw any food products out. He tells you it's a perfectly good meal (even if it's not) and that he will eat it tomorrow. It’s sad because you know this stems from childhood but it’s still annoying.
Reuses the same gross, musty ziplock baggies. You keep buying new ones but he doesn't get it lol.
Will tell you if your breath smells, hair is messy, outfit is ugly. He does not see an issue with this and it's nice knowing someone has your back but he doesn't have to be so rude about it..
Atsushi:
If he drinks he's one of those drinkers who will not let you take it from him. Keeps an iron grip on the cup. He finishes it no matter how drunk and always throws up. Thankfully he rarely drinks.
He stops to help everyone, literally even if they just look like they need help. You've been late to so many things.
Will eat anything. Once you made steak and somehow forgot about it. It was hard as a brick yet he still almost broke his teeth eating it. You think you saw some tears as he told you it was delicious.
Mori:
Listens to people's conversations in public and isn't afraid to comment, loudly, about it. You know it's loud because they either stop talking or try and confront you guys.
Comes up to stops fast and brakes so hard you feel like he does it on purpose.
Sometimes if he and Elise get into a “disagreement” he’ll try and rope you in to take his side and you always do, knowing it would probably give him more satisfaction if you chose to side with her.
Poe:
Asks for constructive criticism but will then argue with you about why you're wrong.
Always humming a song he heard Twain singing and then it gets stuck in your head too.
Will deny stupid things like why your favorite mug is in the trash or why he just let out rather loud scream in the bathroom. You know he's lying because he looks away and makes sure his bangs are covering his eyes.
Ranpo:
Will call you out on any lie even if you don't mean to lie you just forgot about some of the details.
Don't take him grocery shopping if you have a set amount you want to spend. He won't even sneak, he will just say he wants something and throw it in the cart.
Such a backseat driver even though he can't drive.
Fitzgerald:
Likes to act like he's still in his twenties and will somehow get the two of you invited to college parties where he will attempt to do a kegger in front of everyone. You end up being the one to hold him up and he always ends with a, “LETS FUCKING GO!”
Likes to ask for the senior discount even though he's not that old, he just likes to hear the women validate that he's not old.
It’s scary how he used to buy without looking and now will scream if the price on a price tag is too high.
Steinbeck:
Always looking at the grass for wheat to chew on. It's so cheesy when you walk into the city and he's got it sticking out of his mouth.
He gets weirdly intimate with nature and you feel like you're third wheeling.
Has the mentality that he has to provide for you because he is the man. He gets so shocked when he finds out you still want to work.
Chuuya:
Has a hard time making decisions you could ask him what he wants for dinner and his mind will just break.
Gets way too pissed at movies and will actually get up and walk away. Once you were kicked out of the theater because he wouldn't stop yelling at the screen. Another time he walked out you waited a whole ten minutes before you realized he wasn't coming back.
Sometimes activates his ability at night and it's so scary waking up to him floating halfway across the room.
WOMAN TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Yosano:
Will glare at you so intensely if you say something she disagrees with.
Always tries to rope you into drinking with her even if you’ve said no the past ten nights.
Will describe wounds or injuries in such detail and just won’t stop, almost like she’s trying to fuck with you, but she’s not.
Gin:
Claims to be nothing like her big brother but then will go on to make the same facial expressions and do some of the same mannerisms as him.
Will spend hours trying things on just to put it all back, leave the store and change her mind when you’re almost home. Then she’ll have you run back with her to buy it all.
Is used to sneaking around so scares you a lot. Also on the topic of being silent sometimes she just won’t respond, thinking you can just read her vibes / mind.
Kouyou:
Will judge what you eat, especially fast food but will try and steal a fry in private when you're not looking.
Will say things like, “Well that's just the way the world works.” If someone tries to share their baggage with her. You understand she’s had a pretty rough life but it's caused you to almost spit out your drink multiple times.
At functions forgets about you for about an hour while she mingles with everyone else, you could tap on her shoulder and she'll dismiss you like you're a subordinate. Until you clear your throat again you'll see the slight blush as she apologizes.
Higuchi:
She has no sense of privacy. If she hears a crash or loud noise she will bust down the door. It’s sweet but not when the noises are usually from you knocking all the shampoo bottles down again.
Horrible road rage actually puts you on edge to be in the car with her. She doesn't even have to be driving.
Likes to act like she's a professional at everything and people usually believe it because of her suit. It's so nerve wracking when she giggles when they walk away with false information.
Alcott:
Will agree to everything you suggest but you can only tell when she doesn’t want to do it when you’re currently doing it.
Yet she’s not afraid to grumble about how annoying it is when someone bumps into you and doesn’t apologize. It’s sweet but you’re left dealing with the situation if the person is aggressive enough to say something.
Always corrects your spelling or if you say something like “I could care less.”
Lucy:
Will fish for compliments in a very obvious way like, “Wow. Wish someone would call me pretty..” and then just stare right at you.
Kicks you so violently in her sleep but won't let go of you so you cant get away.
Constantly stealing from restaurants. You're banned from a couple restaurants because she got caught trying to steal a cup or salt shaker.

❥ BSD characters discovering that their s/o is pregnant
Includes Dazai, Chuuya and Atsushi
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ᴀ/ɴ: AHHHH I AM GLAD YOU LIKE MY WORK LUV 🥺 I hope you enjoy this one as well 💘 also I tried changing from headcanons to a really small drabble here :D
Tumblr media
Dazai Osamu:
Tumblr media
Dazai never wondered about how tomorrow will play out, he never looked forward to it. He never thought about his future unless it ended with him taking his life away. He never thought he would be committed to live let alone to someone.
But you came in and changed that for him.
First from strangers to friends, from friends to best friends, from best friends to lovers, from lovers to fiancé’s and from fiancés to husband and wife.
He never imagined being in a relationship with anyone yet here he was laying on the couch with you trapped in his arms while talking with a voice he always found music to the ears.
“Hey ‘samu..” your voice suddenly called out to him in a small tone while he tilted his head. Why did you get anxious suddenly? Did something happen? Why are you nervous? He couldn’t place his hand on whatever made you feel this way right now but nevertheless he wanted assure you.
He rubbed your back hoping it can give you a push forward and that you can tell him what’s on your beautiful mind. “...what do you think about having a baby?”
Oh. So that is what it’s about.
“It’s just a hypothetical question by the way!” you stuttered confirming his suspicions before he hugged you tightly and buried his face in the crook of your neck. “I am pregnant ‘samu..” you ended with a smile. “Thank you...thank you, thank you..” he kept repeating the same words like a chorus that he memorized by heart.
Dazai was happy, his heart is full. He didn’t take a life now, he made one. He made one with you, his beautiful wife and his loving belladonna. Eyes getting teary, he smiled against your skin. He pulled back and connected your foreheads.
“God I love you more than anything.”
He said with a tone nothing less than sincere and passionate. Had you expected this reaction? A part of you told you that he won’t like it, but another told you he will be the best father he can be and won’t leave you.
And then the mood turned 180 degrees as Dazai turned to his goofy self and started screaming “WE ARE GONNA HAVE A BABY!” And that’s how he started his mission of telling everyone in the ADA about the wonderful news.
But despite his exterior, you both knew that he was genuinely happy with it and it’s not his clown mask that is supposed to convey his true happiness authentically. That’s why what’s under the mask and behind the walls is only preserved for you.
His belladonna, wife and mother of his children.
Chuuya Nakahara:
Tumblr media
You felt somewhat confident and more assured about telling Chuuya about the two lines that changed your entire lives.
He had been having a baby fever lately, always glancing at the babies’ isle, sometimes trying to subtly make a baby laugh and feeling joyful when it does. It was another reason that made you know he is a wonderful father.
You heard the door of your house freak open with the usual “I am home!” of your dear husband. You smiled at the sound of his voice and felt a kiss on the top of your head. “How are you, dove?” He asked before hanging his coat and taking a seat beside you.
You giggled and assured him that you are okay then held his hand. “Chuu I wanna show you something.” You carefully let out, you had been planning this for a long time after all. He squeezed your hand ushering you to go on.
You got a box and placed it on the table. Chuuya started wondering if you got him a gift. Excitedly he looked at you then back at the box slowly pulling off the top of it. He pouted in confusion when he saw a pink shirt, nevertheless he took it out and saw the writing that said “Mama Chihuahua”
He blankly stared at the shirt and let out a mocking laugh “very funny, dove.” You encouraged him to keep looking and the next thing he got out was a blue shirt with “Papa Chihuahua” he furrowed his eyebrows starting to see a certain pattern.
He subconsciously hoped it was what his heart desired for some time now.
He lastly pulled out a yellow baby onesie with the writing “Baby Chihuahua” he then gripped the shirt tightly and looked at you in complete shock and disbelief. “Y/N you are-“ “ pregnant.” You ended with a soft grin.
Chuuya hugged you tightly and cheered, “HAHA YES FINALLY I HAVE BEEN WANTING THIS!” He started peppering kisses all over your face and chuckling, it truly fulfilled what his heart has been longing for.
Chuuya held your hand and kissed the ring on your finger and vowed once again but for a different person “I swear on my life that I will protect you and our baby from everything and anything.”
His eyes held a certain look of stern and honesty. Chuuya was always a loyal man to anyone who shows that they deserve it and he was one to keep his promises.
And until now he had kept himself true to his vows, and he won’t hesitate or fail to be true to the one he made just now.
Atsushi Nakajima:
Tumblr media
(Atsushi is aged up to 23 cause I am not letting you guys be teenage parents at 18 👩‍🦲)
Atsushi was always good with kids. It honestly reassured you that whenever you guys will have a child then it will be easy and nice for them to interact.
Despite rambling a lot about how kids are adorable and how he wants to squish their cheeks, He has never asked you if you ever wanted a child or suggested having one. Not that you were expecting him to since he does get shy quite often.
Even after 5 years of being together and being married just last year, kisses from your turn his face into a pink hue. Truly a lot of milestones have been placed in your relationship and you two enjoyed every single one of them.
Today however was a new milestone.
As soon as his eyes landed on the pregnancy test you forgot on the sink of your shared bathroom last night, he got overwhelmed. He held the test shaking and slid to the ground.
You are pregnant.
Happy tears flooded his yes as a smile cracked so wide reaching his eyes, Atsushi was strong when needed but right now he wanted to show even to no one just how happy two dashes made him be.
He stood up slowly not to wake you up and kneeled down to your bed. He kissed the top of your head, wiping his tears so they don’t fall on your face and wearily whispered “thank you...”
He held your body tenderly and a smile never leaving his face as he kept talking to your tummy hoping that even now his baby would hear him and know that his dad is already ready to welcome him with open arms.

Party with the PM/ADA HC
Party with the PM/ADA HC
Tis a lazy day- so a lazy post T_T (still not feeling 100% better T_T)
At first, there really isn’t anybody too happy about this little “bonding” exercise.
It was organized by both Mori and Fukuzawa since there were so many temporary alliances lately. That and they both wanted a little amusement.
Almost everybody didn’t mind.
Ranpo, Kunikida, Tanizaki, and almost everybody but Dazai and Atsushi were fine with it when it came to the agency.
Then the only people against the little slumber party in the mafia were Chuuya and Akutagawa.
It was relatively easy to get Akutagawa to go. A simple, “Dazai will be there I'm sure you’ll impress him in some way.”
Chuuya… you had to drag him to the location. Of course, this is no easy task because he is the port mafia’s executive gravity manipulator. He’ll go from making himself too heavy to move, to pinning you down, to shoving you into walls.
It takes threatening to get Mori and using slight manipulation. His sense of loyalty is both his greatest strength and weakness. With a simple, “well this is something from Mori, so refusing to go is refusing an order so it’s kind of disloyal?”
He was glaring and grumbling curses, but he was about to go. “I swear if I have to deal with that mongrel I’ll crush you.” he’d probably repeat something like that over and over again.
When you actually get there you're surprised how well set up everything is.
There is karaoke, various forms of liquor, tables, sleeping bags, beanbags, lots of snacks, there were even a few people already here.
You decided to help set up anything that still needed setting up.
You ended up talking to Atsushi a bit, he did find it rather unbelievable he was talking to one of the more feared members of the mafia.
While you could be ruthless, cold, and cruel, you were a kind person underneath all of it.
Dazai showed up before Chuuya, which was unexpected.
No Chuuya means nobody to annoy the living hell out of.
It was either Kunikida or you. Of course, he picked the rarer occasion.
“Will you commit a double suicide with me?” “Such a flower.” “What are you up to.” “Whaaaa you're ignoring meeeee?” he could be quite the pester.
Unlike Chuuya though, you kept yourself level-headed.
“Sorry but I plan on living Dazai.'' Kunikida was amazed at how easily you could hold together. To the mafia this was normal but to the agency, they were all shocked you could deal with Dazai's behavior.
You liked this sort of peace. Even Akutagawa, who was basking alone eating pocky, was gradually interacting with Atsushi. He was nervous and kept a large distance but it wasn’t too bad.
Chuuya was the last to get there, and he was already holding a bottle of wine. He sat down and finished it. If you give him the stink eye, he'll glare. “Just don’t, if I have to deal with this, I'm going to be drunk.” that would earn a chuckle as Dazai starts to purposely anger the ginger.
Eventually, you pulled them apart before they started throwing fists.
“How drunk do you think Chuuya has to be for karaoke?”
“Drunk enough to be on the verge of passing out.” why Dazai knows this is unknown.
When people moved to start karaoke it was mostly those who had already had a bit much to drink.
Despite being waisted, it was still hard to get Chuuya to go up with you. Before you realized it, Dazai was there to shove you to the middle. It was like old times for a moment. The three of you had been close if you could count your partnership as close. Always stepping to break the boys from their fights. Joining in, at times, drinking together after a successful mission. Falling asleep on each other's shoulders.
This felt like those times and for a moment it was as if you weren't on separate sides. “Chuuya’s just scared (y/n) likes me more!” Dazai snickered, pulling you towards him.
Teasing drunk Chuuya was always a big laugh for the two of you. “No! they like me more! I’m not the one always touching them weirdly!” he pulled you back and you sighed.
This was going to be a long night. “How about more wine Chu?” you hummed grabbing your own glass as Dazai snickered.
“Drinking contest!” he hummed.
“Pft, but Chu’s already wasted Daz!”
“You're not though~”
“I don’t drink…”
“Yes, you do!”
“Do not”
“Do to”
“No”
“Yes”
“No”
“Yes”
“Shut up before I squash you both.” he went ignored.
“No”
“Yes”
“Fuck you.”
“Gladly.”
“Perverted ass”
“You said it first~”
“Chuuya, kill him.”
“Gladly!”
“How cruel” cue the dramatic hand placement over his eyes and the hand over his heart. “The princess sent the brute after the prince.
“You're not a prince.”
“More like a slimy mackerel.”
“Ouch”
“Serves you right mackerel.”
“The princess has started using the brute's names!”
“Wait- why am I the princess? (princess here simply implies the one who needs saving, not implying female gender)
“Because I need to save you?”
“They don’t need to be saved”
“Just kill him, Chu. Or I’ll do it first.”
“Eh, actually! I think that would be a pleasant way to die! Kill me already dearest, just do it painlessly”
“Fucking creep!”
And cue both Chuuya and yourself racing to attack Dazai.
And at that point, the dad’s leaders step in and separate their children subordinates…
Crossing your arms like children and glaring you three huff and pout.
“They lasted a whole hour before they started trying to murder one another.” Mori pinched the brim of his nose sufficiently entertained.
Kouyou scolded the drunk Chuuya who decided to pass out finally.
Atsushi is just confused. “Are they always like this?”
Akutagawa nodded scowling. “When Dazai-san was in the mafia he tormented them like this daily. They were destructive and feared. Even if double black was more prominent in the pairing and (y/n)-san did more missions on their own, when they work together… it’s impossible to survive.”
Atsushi shivered. “And now?”
Akutagawa raised a brow. (his almost-non existent ones XD). “I mean Chuuya-san and (y/n)-san do a ton of stuff together. (y/n) gets along with anybody as long as they don't screw up…” if Akutagawa shivered at that then Atsushi was most definitely terrified.
“Their ability?”
“... scary”
“... what is it?”
“Scary.”
“... Akutagawa that doesn't..”
“Weapons never miss a target… never. They can create them out of anything.”
“Even…”
“Even bodies.”
“... scary”
“Mhm”
At least the two of them were getting along… kinda?

Dazai
Tumblr media
He was used to you not answering your phone every time he called, you were an avid napper and he only called as much as he did to make sure you knew that he cared. He knew that you enjoyed waking up to see your phone screen filled with notifications from him, missed calls, and so many voicemails that the mailbox was filled completely.
He started getting slightly antsy when you didn't respond to any of his texts or calls by mid-evening. Sure, you napped a lot, but you never stayed asleep this long. You would at least have gotten up to use the restroom or get something to eat or something. "Maybe she just didn't check her phone..." He mused to himself, spinning around in his desk chair at the office, staring at his phone screen that was opened to your texts. He was waiting for those three little dots that would indicate that you were responding, that you were okay.
"Get off your phone, Dazai." Kunikida said, smacking the top of his head with his notebook as he walked by. He grunted and set his phone down on his desk, turning back to the work on the table. Sure, he didn't actually enjoy doing work, but it was the only thing that got his mind off the fact that you weren't writing back.
Back at the apartment you shot up in your bed, it felt like there was a giant weight on your chest, your head was pounding and your vision was going blurry as you felt the tears coming on. Nothing in particular had triggered your anxiety attack, sometimes it just happened. You clutched your hands to your chest as you kicked the blankets from around your legs, but they only got more tangled. Your breathing became harsher, the feeling of being trapped had you in a full blown panic and you kept kicking, trying to remove the blankets. You moved off the bed, and as you looked around you realized how dark it was. Your senses were heightened, you heard every noise from outside, you could feel the vibrations in the floor as trucks drove by, everything had you on edge.
You ran to the closet door, grabbing one of Dazai's shirts off the floor knowing that his scent would be on the shirt, you slumped down against the wall gripping the shirt tightly and bringing it up to your face, trying to find some comfort in his familiar musky scent. Your tears flowed silently as you rocked back and forth on the floor, trying to even out your breaths and calm down as much as you could.
It was 8:30 at night and you still hadn't responded to any of his calls or texts. He grabbed his coat off the back of his chair and slipped his arms through as he made his way out of the office. He was always the first person to leave, but nobody had ever seen Dazai move so quick. He ran out of the building, and luckily for him your apartment was only a block away. He started off in a sprint, his skin hyper aware, hoping to feel the much anticipated vibration of his phone in his pocket.
When he got to the apartment complex he saw that none of the lights were on in any of the windows and he began to panic, fumbling with the building key as he tried to unlock the main door to get in. He couldn't steady his hands and it took him a full two minutes just to get the key in the lock, but as soon as he did he had the door flung in and he was racing up that stairs, skipping two at a time to get to his floor as quick as he could.
He got to the apartment door and he was more careful this time, worrying that maybe someone was in there with you. He slowly unlocked the door and turned the handle, walking on his toes as he stepped into your shared apartment, careful not to make any of the floorboards creak or knock into anything. He didn't turn on any lights, but he could see in the moonlight that everything looked the same as the way he had left it this morning when he went to work. There was no sign of any struggling, but you were still nowhere to be found.
As he walked further into the house he could hear small whimpers coming from the bedroom. His mind jumped to conclusions, thinking that you had been attacked during your nap, and that the perpetrator had left you for dead. He ran as fast as he could, knocking into the decorative table that was against the wall, knocking off the pictures that had lined the table. He didn't care as the glass shattered against the hardwood floors, he just needed to get into the room.
He kicked open the bedroom door and heard your soft squeal from the closet. "Y/N?" He whispered your name as he walked over to the closet, opening the door to find you curled up in a ball on the floor of the closet. "Hey... you okay?" He asked, bending down to sit on the floor next to you. He was slightly taken aback as you scurried across the floor to move onto his lap, your arms wrapping around his neck, burying your face in his chest. "It's okay... It's okay, my belladonna. I'm here now."
He had only been slightly aware of your anxiety, you had never let on to him how bad it could get at any point during your relationship, and he surely hadn't seen you this bad off. It broke his heart to know that you had been crying by yourself in the closet for god knows how long. He cradled you against his chest, his arms loosely wrapped around you, not wanting you to feel too constricted in his hold, but he didn't want to let you go.
He would always nonchalantly ask how you were feeling every morning, making sure you were okay before he left for work. He set your phone up with a special ringtone for his calls and texts only so you knew it was him, and his texts would always be things along the lines of him telling you he loved you or asking if you were okay.
You were his beautiful belladonna, his one and only, and he wanted nothing more than for you to be okay.
Chuuya
Tumblr media
He kissed you softly before leaving, not able to look directly at you as you pouted at him from the bed. It was supposed to be his day off, you had planned the entire day for the two of you and it was centered around him specifically. "I'll try to be back soon, baby." He said, trying not to let his frustration show through his words, he felt just as bad about leaving as you did seeing him leave.
When he got to work he realized that he had left his phone back at the penthouse, he was forgetful when he was aggravated. Now he couldn't even text you to let you know that he loved you, to tell you that he couldn't wait to see you. He was pissed at Mori for calling him in, and he was pissed at himself for accepting it. He could have said no, he should have said no. He knew that you had spent all week planning for this day, the two of you had been looking forward to it since the beginning of the week when he had informed you that he had a day off.
His phone started ringing and he picked it up, not giving the person on the other end a second to speak before he started screaming. "Will you just piss off! Leave me alone for a god damned minute!" He slammed the phone down onto the receiver and sighed. It felt good to let some of his anger out, and he didn't really care who the unsuspecting victim was on the other end of the line. Leaning his head against the back of his chair he looked up at the clock on the wall, it was already three in the afternoon, he wondered what you were doing.
You had called his phone once, just wanting to hear his voice. You missed him even more right now, knowing that he should be here with you and he wasn't. It wasn't fair, but it also wasn't his fault. You knew that he couldn't say no to his boss, it didn't take away the sting of watching him walk out that door though.
When his phone started vibrating on the nightstand you couldn't help but feel slightly annoyed. He wasn't here, and now you couldn't even talk to him because he had left without his cellphone. You sat on the bed trying to figure out what to do, and then you had it, the best idea! You pulled up the number pad and began dialing the number, it would connect you directly to his office.
You pressed the call button and held the phone to your ear, the smile already forming on your face as you waited for his voice to come through. Your mouth opened to speak, but he was faster, screaming at you through the line and you could only sit in shock, your mouth still hanging open as his voice rang in your ears. You were about to respond but you heard the phone slam on his end, and then the dead silence right before the dial tone.
Did he know it was you? Was he mad at you for calling while he was at work? Did he not like you calling his office phone? Your hands were shaking, you couldn't even hold your phone. It dropped down to the bed next to you and you slowly got up, your movements were robotic as you made your way to the kitchen. You grabbed the shot glass out of the cabinet and poured yourself a shot of whiskey. You hated the taste, but you hoped that the sting of the alcohol hitting your stomach would overpower the sting from Chuuya's words.
It didn't take much, you were a lightweight, and you soon found out that your tolerance for whiskey was even lower than your tolerance for vodka. Your head felt heavy, and when you got up to go back into the bedroom it felt like the gravitational pull was fifty times stronger than it had been before you had drank. You used anything and everything as a crutch as you walked to the room, but it seemed like with every step you took, the door moved back further. You had lost your footing and began crawling at this point towards the door, the entire room was spinning.
You don't know how you got in the closet, but when the door was shut, no light shone through and the lack of lighting helped ease your headache. The only problem now was that you were stuck with your over analytical drunken thoughts, and that wasn't a good thing at all. He hated you, he was going to leave you, that's why he accepted the job offer. He didn't want to be with you today in the first place. He was cheating on you. Your call had interrupted his fling with another woman. You started crying, and it didn't seem like it would ever end, the thoughts only continued to grow more and more painful as you dwelled on them longer.
Chuuya was called into the meeting room, and as he sat around the table he looked at everyone's faces. He expected one of them to look pissed at him, or maybe call him out for being such an ass to them over the phone, but none of them seemed phased. He cleared his throat before speaking. "Which one of you fuckers called me earlier?" They all looked confused, none of them had called him, but now he was the one confused. "Well who else has my office number?"
"I gave Y/N your office phone number, just in case there was an emergency and-" He held his hand up to cut Kouyou off, his other hand pinching the bridge of his nose as her words sank in. None of them had called... you were the only other person who would have that number... He had talked to you that way...
"Dammit!" He shouted, pushing back from the large table. Everyone's eyes followed him as he stormed out of the room, running back to his office to call back the last number. It rang and rang, but there was no answer. Then it went to voicemail. "HEEEEYYYY!!! This is Y/N! I can't make it to the phone right now... Chuuya stop! That ticklessss...." The message stopped and the beep sounded, but he couldn't speak.
He grabbed his keys off his desk and ran out the door, trying to think of what he would say, what could he say? If he had just given you the chance to speak before going off this wouldn't even be an issue. How would you even react to seeing him running through the door? Would you allow him to take you in his arms, would you listen to his apology? Surely you couldn't believe that he would purposely talk to you that way! He loved you dearly, he would never talk to you in that tone, even when you piss him off, which was a rarity, he still was able to keep his cool with you. You were too important to him to even think of talking to you in such a way that risked having you leave him.
He ran out of the building to his car, shoving the key into the ignition and pulling out of the lot, his tires squealing as they peeled across the asphalt. His fears were taking over as he sped down the freeway, hoping that he could make it to the penthouse before you left. He was so scared that you would walk out on him, and although it seems silly that you wold leave him over something so seemingly small, he knew how sensitive you were. You were so delicate, fragile... he was so worried that he had broken you.
He ran into the penthouse, his body was going the same speed his sports car had been going down the highways. Getting to you was of the utmost importance, he had to apologize, he had to tell you that he didn't mean to speak to you that way at all. When he walked in he saw the bottle of whiskey out on the counter, it was still open, the lid laying next to it. The small shot glass had a small tinge of your lipstick on the brim, and although he didn't like the idea of you drinking by yourself, at least he knew that you were still there.
"Y/N? Baby, where are you at?" He called out, looking around the open living area. He would have seen you when he walked in if you were there though, so he made his way to the bathroom door, knocking lightly before opening the door and peaking in, only to find it empty. He turned to the bedroom door that was still slightly cracked open, and that's when he heard your quiet sobs coming from the room.
He pushed the door open and looked around, expecting to find you on the bed, but it was empty as well. The sound had definitely come from this room though, so he looked around the room. A small hiccup sounded from the closet and he made his way over, tapping his knuckle against the door rhythmically before asking if he could open the door. You didn't respond, and he didn't quite know if that meant yes or no, but he didn't want to keep you waiting for an explanation, and he didn't want to stand around while you were obviously crying behind the door. He turned the knob slowly and pulled the door open, and when he saw you it was like his heart broke.
You were curled in the fetal position on the floor, clinging onto one of his hoodies like it was a lifeline, sobbing into the fabric. Your body was trembling with the shaky intermittent breaths you took in between your silent sobs. He dropped to the floor, reaching out a hand to place on your shoulder, but you jerked away from his touch. "I'm so sorry, Y/N." He whispered weakly, it killed him seeing you cry, knowing that it was his fault only made it worse.
"Was she prettier than me? Do you love her?" Your voice was muffled behind the hoodie, and he wasn't sure if he heard you correctly. You peered up from the clothing, squinting your eyes as you tried to adjust to the lighting. "You won't answer..."
"You... you think that I was... cheating?" He had heard you right, but that didn't make it any easier for him to process what you had said. Did you really think he was capable of such a thing? You sniffled and your bottom lip jutted out, he reached out to hold your face in his hands, brushing away the tears with his thumbs. "Baby doll, you are the most beautiful girl I've ever laid eyes on, the only girl I ever have and ever will love." Had he given you a reason to doubt him? Had he not told you that he loved you enough? Did he don't tell you enough just how gorgeous you were? He would gladly remind you every second of every day just to ease your worrying mind.
He ended up sitting with you in the closet for a bit, he sat against the wall with your head in his lap. His fingers trailed absentmindedly across your body as he listened to you speak. You told him about your insecurities, how you never felt like you were good enough for him, that you were always so scared that he'd find someone better someday. When you finished speaking he made sure to reassure you that you were beyond good enough for him, that you were too good for him. There would never be anyone better than you, it was impossible for there to be someone in the entire galaxy who was as amazing, beautiful, and genuinely perfect as you.
Atsushi
Tumblr media
Atsushi was very protective of you, considering you were the only person in his life who has ever genuinely loved him, he didn't want to lose you or the affection you gave him. He was always scared that you would leave him or that someone would take you away. He thought that he was cursed, that everything good that ever came to him would eventually die or be destroyed. He was under the impression that he didn't deserve happiness, but once he found you, he was starting to believe that maybe it was possible, maybe for once in his life he was allowed to experience true joy. The protectiveness wasn't that bad, it was just him acting on his fears, and that was something that you had gotten used to.  He wasn't over bearing, he didn't keep you locked in the house or anything, he just always checked up on you, his voice was always filled with worry whenever he called, he just loved you so much, he wanted to be sure that you were okay, that you were going to be there when he came back home. You always reassured him that you would be right there waiting for him, and you could picture in your head his cheeks burning bright red whenever you said those simple words, reminding him that you loved him dearly and that you would never leave.
You were already awake, fresh out of the shower, padding around the kitchen as you made him breakfast. He always slept in a little later, his ability was tiring for him, and using it left him exhausted. He needed extra sleep to keep up with work, but you couldn't deny how precious he looked when he was sleeping, and you always got to witness him when he first woke. He would trudge into the kitchen, rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, his mouth stretched in a wide "O" as he yawned, before finally opening his eyes and seeing you standing at the stove working on whatever food was on the stove. It happened as planned, a perfect daily happening that you looked forward to every morning. He wrapped his arms around your back, pressing a swift kiss to your neck before working to help you lay out the plates on the table. "You're going to be okay while I'm at work, right?" It was always the same question every morning, as if anything would make today any different from the days before.
"I'll be fine Atushi. You really need to stop worrying about me so much. It's much more dangerous for you out there than it is for me in here." You tried to calm his nerves, turning around to look at him. He was sitting at the table, his head in his hands, his mind filled with worry. You made your way over to where he was sitting and draped your arms over his shoulders, planting a small kiss to the top of his head, a small sigh of relief escaped his lips as you pulled away.
"Promise me, if anything happens, you'll call me. Okay?" He turned his head to look up at you, his face becoming flushed when he saw how close your face was to his own. You nodded, it was a quick jerky movement and the smile that replaced the small pout that he had been wearing only seconds before made your heart flutter. He was perfect in every way, and sometimes you wondered if you deserved such a man as him. You pecked the tip of his nose before heading back over to the stove to flip the pancakes. Today would be a good day, a normal day, just like any other day. He had nothing to worry about.
Atsushi got into the office and everyone could tell he was on edge. They were dealing with the Port Mafia, Akutagawa being the worst of them. The Port wanted to get their hands on him, and he was paranoid about how far they were willing to go to get to him. Every other worry he had about you previously seemed like nothing now, the Port Mafia was one of the biggest threats he had to deal with, and if there was anyone who would be able to get their hands on you, it would be them.
"Hey, come on... don't worry so much. She's always been safe before, she'll be fine today, and every day after." Dazai tried to console a panicking Atsushi. He was sitting at his desk, his pen tapping loudly against the hard wood, his teeth sinking into his bottom lip so hard that Dazai was sure that it would begin bleeding any second now.
"Before... before the Mafia was after me? That's what you mean, right?" Atsushi asked sarcastically, finally dropping his pen and spinning his chair around to face Dazai. "I...I can't lose her Dazai-san... I can't!" The tears threatened to spill over, his heart rate was rapid, his breath came out quickly and when he tried to inhale it sounded more like he was choking.
"They don't even know where she is, where you live. They know nothing. She's going to be alright." Dazai patted his back before turning away, leaving Atsushi alone to dwell on his fears. His head fell against the desk with a loud thud as the tears finally fell from his eyes.
You were sitting on the couch, flipping through tv stations trying to find something that could be used as background noise for your daily afternoon nap. You finally settled on the Weather Channel before getting comfortable enough to close your eyes and get some rest. You had just begun to fall into a peaceful slumber when you heard the front door knob being wiggled. You tried to brush it off as someone possibly coming to the wrong apartment door, just an accident, that's what it was. You tried to settle back down on the pillow, but then the knob was wiggled more violently. You sat straight up, grabbing your phone as you quietly moved off the couch and tiptoed into your bedroom. There was a pounding on the door, and as soon as you got to the bedroom you shut the door behind you and locked it. The violent pounding and the jerking of the doorknob seemed to go on endlessly. You were panicking as you held the phone against your chest, looking around your room to try to find somewhere that you could hide and call Atsushi.
The closet door was cracked open and you hurried over, grabbing a metal hanger from the rack and wrapping it around the handles on the inside. You tried to calm yourself as the sounds of the possible intruder trying to break their way into your home echoed throughout the house. Your hands were shaking and your palms were sweaty as you cowered in the far corner of the closet, trying to pull up Atsushi's number. You held the phone to your ear and took a shaky breath as the ringing resounded through the speaker. It only took one ring for him to answer, you never called him while he was working, so he knew there was something wrong.
"Y/N! Are you okay? What's wrong?" The panic in his voice was still nothing close to the panic you were feeling in that moment. You wanted nothing more than for him to be here with you, to let you know that everything was going to be okay.
"S-someone... they're... trying to g-get in..." You stuttered out in a shaky whisper, your cheeks were wet and stained with the tears that had fallen and were still falling. You heard the sound of Atsushi's phone being dropped, hitting the hard wood floors of the office with a loud thud as a large gush of wind whistled through the speakers.
You pulled your knees up to your chest and buried your face between them, trying to control your breathing as you listened out for the banging on the door. It had stopped completely, and you feared that maybe the person had finally made it in and was now looking for you. You tried to make out any sounds of footsteps or talking, but everything was silent. Everything seemed so still, it was eerie, and that scared you even more.
Atsushi was racing down the back alleys, hoping and praying that he would get to you in time. He should have trusted his gut feeling that he had this morning and just stayed home with you. The feeling that something bad would happen had lingered with him all through the night and all morning during breakfast, and he had been right. He was running at the speed of light, his body being propelled forward with the sheer force of anger and fear.
When he made it up to the apartment he saw that the door wasn't opened, and he didn't know if that made him feel better or worse. Would someone have shut the door after doing damage? He wasn't sure. Most movies he had seen had the door left open after a crime was committed, and all the cases he had worked were either outside or in warehouses, so he wasn't really sure what to think.
His hands were shaking as he reached out to grab the door knob, it was still locked. He saw the marks on the door though, signs of someone beating at it repeatedly, the wood was scuffed and in some places even chipped. Someone had really wanted to get in, but whoever it was either didn't have an ability, or just didn't want to attract attention and decided not to use it at all. He pulled out his keys and quickly unlocked the door, pushing it open slowly and peering around the room to see if you were anywhere close by.
The Weather Channel was on, but other than that, there was no sound coming from that room, or the house at all. It made his heart stop, did something actually happen to you? Did this person find some other point of entry? He quickly shut the door behind him and began looking around. He was scared to call out your name, fearful that if someone was still there they would definitely hurt you when they heard him. So he tiptoed, hoping that his shoes wouldn't be too loud against the hard wood floors, but at this point with the silence, everything seemed loud. Even the sound of his breathing seemed to be too loud in his ears.
When he was done checking over the main floor of the apartment he moved to the bedroom, wiggling the doorknob and finding that it had been locked. He knew that you were in there, whether you were alone or not was the main issue. He didn't want to wait to see if you would come open the door yourself, so he kicked it in. That's when he heard your loud scream from the closet. He rushed over and tried to pull the doors open, only to find that they too had been secured shut. "NO! Stay away from me! M-my boyfriend is a tiger! He'll kill you!" He could hear the desperation, the terror in your voice as you screamed. If you weren't so petrified, he might have possibly chuckled at your words, but now wasn't the time. He did take pride in the fact that you knew he would defend you, that he would always be there to keep you safe.
"It's me, angel. Please, open the door." His soft voice sounded heavenly to you. It was salvation, it was the voice of your savior. You quickly yanked the hanger away, and as soon as he knew he could get in he yanked the door open, dropping to the floor next to you and pulled you into his arms. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry Y/N. I wasn't here, I'm so so sorry."
You both were crying at this point. Your forehead rested against his chest as you let your tears fall into his lap. His arms stayed wound tightly around you, afraid that you would run if he let you go. His tears fell like rain into your hair, his head was hung low as guilt and sham overcame him. "You needed me and I wasn't here. I promise, from now on, I will make sure nothing like this ever happens again. You don't need to be afraid anymore, angel." He murmured as he planted a garden of kisses along the top of your head. "Everything will be okay, I promise."
a/n: I'm sorry this took so long, I hope you're feeling a little better now. I hope I've fulfilled your request need and that you enjoy these scenarios. Please, don't hesitate to reach out to me if you need someone to talk to. <3

“Happy 20th Birthday Tachihara. Order as many drinks you want.” Gramps said.
“Haha, sure thing.” He grinned. Tachihara downed 4 shots of whatever liquor that was on the table that Chuuya put out for him.
“Looks like our little Tachihara has been preparing for this day for a while.” Chuuya laughed. This was going to be an interesting birthday.
“I think I’m going to go home,” Tachihara said only having a few glasses of beer and hard liquor. He knew his limit but everybody else stayed to get plastered. He was about to walk back to base before Mori stopped him.
“When you *hiccup* get home check on my dear Elise for me and little ____ too.”
“____ is there this late?”
“Elise can’t sleep without her. She had been staying with us while the storms are here.” He said.
He swallowed hard. “Yeah, of course, I’ll check in on both of them.”
He hated to admit it but he had a little crush on Elise’s babysitter. But you weren’t just a babysitter you were Mori’s apprentice. Practically like a daughter to his boss. Now you weren’t just an apprentice in the mafia no you were trying to become a doctor. And you wanted to learn from the doctor himself.
Tachihara recently started staying in his office in Headquarters. Mori recently put him in charge of the armory. That was a lot of paperwork and inventory every day. He would sometimes let that paperwork build up. This was one of those nights he knew if he waited another night he would end up behind. Normally he wouldn’t care but Mori had put a lot of faith and trust into him with the armory control.
But before he could get to his paperwork he needed to check on you and Elise.
“____ I’m not tired,” Elise whined to you.
“Elise I understand but I’m tired.” You whined back. She was behind just finishing your side braid.
“They're all done.” She said happily.
“Good now, will you go to bed?” Before she could answer there was a knock on the door. You knew if it was Mori he would just burst in. “Elise hide.” You reached for a gun that Mori hid in her room just in case. You pulled the gun from behind the nightstand. She nodded and went to go hide.
“Come in.” You said you aimed the gun at the door.
“Hey, Mori just wanted me-”
Bang! You shot the gun.
“____ what the fuck was that for!” Tachihara yelled. He clutched the side of his arm.
“Tachihara I’m sorry. I thought you were an intruder.” You moved his hand and saw that it sliced through both his jacket and shirt. “Oh thank god.”
“Not to sound rude or anything but how is this a thank god moment?” He said through gritted teeth.
“It’s just a graze you baby.”
“I know you’re welcome.” Then it hit you his ability. He was able to manipulate metal.
“Thank you.” You chuckled nervously. “Elise you can come out now.”
She came out of the closet. “You shot Tachihara!” She shouted.
“Yes, Elise. Go to bed I’ll be back in a few minutes.”
She was about to make a fuss but then looked at Tachihara who was gazing at your figure.
“No need. I can sleep without you. Just stay with Tachihara tonight.”
“What?” You said embarrassed and shocked but before you could correct her she was pushing the both of you out of her room and locking it from behind. “I’ll just crawl into bed with her later. I have a key.” You said blushing.
“Can you remove your jacket and shirt?” You said. “And where’s your secret liquor stash? And not the good stuff.”
“Under my pillow.” He said taking off the top half of his clothing. “Should I sit at my desk?”
“Yes.” You had the first aid kit ready to go. He was sitting patiently at the desk.
Technically Tachihara could do this himself. But he knew that you were working hard with Mori.
He watched you set up what you were going to do. You pulled out the disinfectant wipe, a big bandage, and some gauze.
“Now I must warn you this will sting a little.”
“Oh please I’m not a baby-” He winced at the strong stinging of the disinfect you wiped with the pressure you applied. “You didn't have to go so hard.”
“Well, that is so you make sure it’s clean.” You said through gritted teeth, you quickly applied the bandaged and the gauze. “They're all done, you big baby. Now I would usually give my patients lollipops or stickers whatever Elise is feeling. But since it’s your birthday let’s do a birthday shot.” You said with a smile pulling glasses out of his third desk draw and poured the cheap liquor.
“How did you know that the glasses were there?” Tachihara asked.
“Mori has them in all the office 3rd desk draw. I just have a thing for cheap liquor, what I grew up drinking.” You handed him the glass. “Come on.”
He took the shot from you and downed it as you did.
“Thanks again.”
“Of course Tachihara anything for you. I really should be getting back to Elise I don’t want her to get scared and disappoint Mori.”
“Trust me Mori won’t remember the next few hours and Elise said she would be found. You can sleep on my bed I don’t mind. I’m going to be working most of the night and probably sleep on the couch. The bed has never been slept on.”
The bed did look so comfortable. You haven’t been getting a lot of sleep while spending your nights for the past week with Elise.
“Thank you Tachihara.” You went over to the bed and lifted the covers and sunk into the beds cushioning.
“You can call me Michizo.” He went over to his closet and pulled 2 sweatshirts out. He slipped one on himself. “Here you can wear this to bed.”
“Thanks.” You slipped the sweatshirt on.
You fell back down into the soft bed. You were engulfed in his cologne. Even though the bed was barely slept in it still smelt like him. You inhaled deeply and closed your eyes.
Tachihara was an interesting member of the Port Mafia to you at least. Sure he had a temper that leads to his rash decision making. However, he valued orders and his position in the mafia. But those qualities made a great person in combat and a reliable man.
He was the only person around your age that you got to be around with every once in a while. He was kind to you. Which was different than the way he treated others. But you thought maybe it because he didn’t spend a lot of time with you.
He wasn’t a sight for sore eyes. He was quite attractive.
Must have only been a couple of hours of you resting but you shifted a little when you heard a loud sigh from across the room.
You riser from your sleepy state. “Michizo are you alright?”
“Mmm. Oh _____ I’m sorry if I woke you. Just work that is stressing me out.”
“How much paperwork did you finish?” You said getting you from the bed and sauntering over to his desk.
“Almost all of it. I just have a few more files.” He said rubbing his face.
You went behind him and put your hands on his shoulders. This caused Tachihara to drop his pen. You started to massage his shoulders.
“Just come to bed. I’ll help you finish it in the morning.” You said leaning into his ear. “I can’t stand to see you this stressed out Michizo. You need rest, doctors orders.”
He turned his head towards your sleepy face. “Fine Princess.” He let you pull him towards the bed.
“You need to relax more.” You continue to rub his shoulders. He fell back into your soft chest closing his eyes. “You get so stressed out from your work. Being a leader of the black lizard and control the armory now.”
“Ugh ___.” He moaned. He caught himself pulling away from your massage and holding your hands. “You are a little minx.” He leaned into your face placing a rough kiss on you.
He pulled away to gauge your reaction. “W-What was that for?” You asked shying away with a pink tint on your cheeks.
He smirked. “Just a birthday present for myself. Unless you liked it, Princess?” He asked tilting your head towards him again. “If you want another one you are going to have to tell me you liked it. If you didn’t I’ll back off.”
You shit your eyes. “I liked it. I liked it a lot, Michizo.”
“Good girl.” He leaned toward this time being slightly gentle. He only got a little more forceful with the kisses when his tongue entered your mouth. You return everyone of his kisses. Soon turning sloppy and salvia almost dripping down your chin.
He only stop when you began to whine. “We are going to have to stop for tonight Princess. I wouldn’t be able to control myself. And my doctor did say to get some rest.” He said with a smirk. He pressed a kiss to your forehead. He turned you around to spoon you. “Remember that you promised to help me in the morning ___.”
“Of course Michizo.”
He hummed to your agreeing tone.
“Happy birthday my love you said rubbing his hand across your torso.
“Goodnight my love.” He grumbled into your neck.

WRITTEN CHAPTER
an - everyone say thank you atsumu <3
-
y/n shuffled reluctantly over to her door and slowly opened it to reveal a concerned looking atsumu with a plastic bag in one of his hands.
nothing was said between the pair as y/n moved out the way to let him in. he placed the bag down on the coffee table nearby and turned to the girl. still nothing said between the two, atsumu pulled her into his chest as y/n sobbed quietly into his t-shirt.
after 2 minutes of y/n quietly hiccuping and allowing her tears to fall, atsumu pulled away and looked down at her sighing.
“ya know, ya really worry me sometimes.”
y/n could only nod slightly as she wiped away the tears remaining on her cheeks as she finally registered the plastic bag on the table.
“what's that?” she mumbled gesturing towards the coffee table.
atsumu smiled slightly and picked it up to bring to the larger dining table.
“samu couldn't sleep till he felt like he did somethin for ya. believe it or not, he’s just as worried as me and everyone else. i had to force shouyo and bokkun not to follow me.”
guilt strung through y/n’s chest as she apologised quietly before sitting down opposite the pro player.
“don't apologise, its understandable, i’m just glad ya even opened the door for me.”
“i know you would've stood there all night if i didn't.”
atsumu smiled towards the athletics trainer and began to take out the contents inside. osamu had cooked multiple types of onigiri. ones he knew atsumu liked and ones he knew y/n liked.
the two ate in a comfortable silence as atsumu allowed the girl to gather her thoughts. the last thing he wanted to do was pressure her into talking to him about what she was thinking and feeling. he knew she would eventually tell him anyway he had all the time in the world for her to tell him.
10 minutes of a slightly warmer atmosphere between them, y/n sniffled and turned away.
“y/n?” atsumu reached over softly.
“no -shit. i-i’m sorry. this is so pathetic i shouldn't even be crying over this, i should've seen it coming from the start.”
ah so she was in the stage of self blame.
“y/n, none of this was your fault okay?”
the girl didn't care at this point and let her tears flow down her cheeks freely as she turned back to face the artificial blonde.
“yeah b-but if i’d just maybe gotten through to him better or maybe just i don't know -broken up with him, none of this would've happened!”
the setter watched as he let y/n let her emotions out. he didn't plan on riling her up. he needed her to get out whatever she was holding in so he could get through to her on a clearer mind.
“y/n, listen to me.”
stopping her quiet sobs for a moment, y/n looked up at a very genuine looking atsumu.
“i get yer a people pleaser and you’d rather take responsibility when somethins not even yer fault but, none of this was yer fault.” atsumu watched as y/n visibly relaxed at the sound go his voice.
this was a start.
he sighed and took her hands into his one and gave them a light squeeze.
“but, i don't believe this was oikawa’s either.”
y/n’s eyes widened slightly as she opened her mouth to object but atsumu didn't give her the chance.
“ah- i know ya probably think i’m just sayin that to stop you from arguing anymore but listen to me.”
the girl relaxed back into her chair, and nodded slightly for atsumu to continue.
“i know ya don't want to look at the picture, in fact its probably the last thing yer gonna wanna look at, but from what it looks to me, its one-sided. ya can tell he’s clearly uncomfortable and in shock.’
y/n frowned slightly trying to remember the awful photo but her memory was so blurred from the strong emotion and endless tears she couldn't actually remember oikawa’s expression in the photo.
“he still met up with her though.”
atsumu sighed and ran a hand through his slightly messy hair.
“yeah but personally i think he did the right thing. i know its gonna be hard to see things from his point of view but, he handled this well. sure, he wasn't flawless when it came to communication with ya but ya gotta give him some credit for going out his way. he has a lot going on right now and the last thing he probably wanted was a twitter war between his fans, reporters, her fans and herself. seeing her in person was probably one of the best ways to make it clear he wanted nothin to do with her.”
y/n didnt speak for a few moments as she registered what the boy in front of her had just said. yeah it was easy to get angry at how the situation had turned out but was that really all oikawa’s fault.
“atsumu-” y/n began with a shaky breath.
“i get that you’re trying to help me but what you don't know is that he tried to turn this on us. he accused me of cheating with you even though his only source of evidence was fake tabloids that have obviously reached for any material they can to feed off our names. like i said to him, how can he accuse me of cheating when he has no evidence but there’s actual evidence of him with another girl and he’s insistent i believe that he’s been faithful to me.”
atsumu raised an eyebrow to this. oikawa really read those stupid tabloids? they were obviously fake, hell, the same reporters had even written a few tabloids linking him to sakusa much to the latters disgust.
“but is that picture really evidence? i mean, from what it looks like he’s not into it and she’s the one initiating it. i’m not sayin what he said was fair but he’s probably frustrated and panickin. i’m not tellin ya to forgive him right now, but try to talk to him again when you've got yer thoughts together a bit more. it’s not fair to argue with him while yer both under a lot of pressure and emotions. i know for a fact that boy loves ya and ya know it too, ive never seen such a sappy and gross couple before whether yer like it or not this isn’t somethin yer gonna break up over.”
y/n hated to admit it but atsumu was right. maybe she had been a little unfair to pounce at oikawa straight away and hardly give him the chance to explain fully what had happened. had she been stupid enough to forget that oikawa struggles with stress and pressure and was prone to breaking down when things got to much.
a new wave of guilt washed over the girl as she closed her eyes and brought her head down to her knees.
“i feel awful now, oh my- i don't even want to imagine how he’s feeling right now fuck.”
atsumu stood up and crouched down in front of the now panicking y/n.
“look at me.”
glassy eyes stared into atsumu’s.
“we’ll try and get ya to meet him tomorrow, even if ya talk over the phone or somethin, but not tonight, it’s late and yer both need to rest yeah? i’ll stay on yer couch tonight but ya should get ready for bed and try to sleep.”
y/n thanked her lucky stars that she’d been blessed enough to have someone like miya atsumu storm into her life.
she nodded and shuffled to her room to get ready as atsumu wandered over to the couch with a satisfied smile.
after 5 minutes, y/n came back to bid the setter a goodnight and an offer to return back to his room.
“nah, don't wanna leave ya just in case ya wake up stressed or somethin, i’ll be here i’m not going anywhere just call me if ya need me.”
y/n smiled and gave the setter a tight hug.
“thanks tsumu. you’re a lifesaver.”
“i know.”
the girl laughed slightly and pulled away before muttering one last good night to the boy who nodded and waved back smiling.
things had been rough today sure, but atsumu had managed to force her to see things from oikawa’s point of view and even take majority of the balme off of him. she was still angry sure, but things were different now. the anger totally directed towards oikawa had been redirected to herself and sakai but y/n could live with that.
the same way oikawa promised to fix things, y/n made a silent promise to herself that she too would fix things. she just had to wait for a new day to do it properly, the worst had passed all she could do now was move forward and the girl decided to take her first step that very second as she grabbed her phone.

Head cannons for Chuuya, Fyodor, and Tetcho in a relationship with an S/O.
Hello Anon! Thank you for waiting! This is my first time really writing and posting head-cannons, so they may not be exceptional. I ended making it pretty gender-neutral, and it doesn’t really have an intentional structure. Regardless, I hope you enjoy them!
I’ve been sitting on the idea of writing on Tumblr for a while, so any feedback (positive or negative) is greatly appreciated. If you liked something or thought I could have done something differently. Even pointing out grammatical or punctuation errors can help me grow as a writer. (And I definitely have room to grow) Anyway, if you have any thoughts or tips at all, leave a comment or let me know somehow.
Now that that’s said, enjoy! (Warning; Possible manga spoilers(?))
Chuuya Nakahara:
Tumblr media
It takes a while for Chuuya to even consider being in a romantic relationship.
      He has a lot of responsibilities as it is, and having an S/O may damage his reputation and make him look soft.
      However, once he falls in love, he couldn’t care less about reputation. He can still be a ruthless mafioso while protecting his lover.
      If his S/o confesses first, he’d be stunned for a minute. Once he’s processed the info, he’ll be sweet as heck about accepting their feelings.
      If Chuuya confesses first, it’ll be like a grand proposal. We’re talking roses, music in the background, and a romantic poem.
     Chuuya will protect his S/O no matter what and make sure they feel loved.
      He’ll try not to go overboard with presents, but to him, his lover deserves the world. He’ll frequently leave notes of encouragement, baked treats, and little things. Holidays or occasions however, will have extravagant gifts. Jewelry, limited edition merchandise from their favorite series, a private island, etc. etc. He’s filthy rich, why not?
      If his S/O isn’t already in the mafia, it’s going to stay that way. He wants then in as little danger as possible. He knows they can take care of themselves, but he is not taking any chances.
    He loves pet names.
     If he gets flustered, he’ll push his hat down on his lovers head so the brim covers their eyes. Once he recovers he won’t shut up about how cute they look in his hat.
      Call him short, just try. It doesn’t matter how tall his S/O is. If they joke about his height, next thing they know, they’ll be on the ground under him with him smirking down at them.
      And then he’ll kiss them as revenge.
     His kisses are often quick pecs, but once he can get a break and slow down, they’re long, soft, and loving.
      If his S/O is ever stressed or overwhelmed, he’ll sit them down on the couch and just hold them.
     Once he gets them to open up about whatever they’re feeling, he’ll just rub their back and listen. Once they’re done, he’ll encourage them and try to offer solutions.
     Late night rides on his motorcycle can be the perfect stress reliever. He’ll zoom and jump to see if he can get his S/O to laugh to squeak. Bonus points if they grip his waist.
      He rarely smokes once he’s in a relationship. He prefers spending time with his lover to calm him down.
     He can be a bit hot-headed during an argument, but if he goes too far, he stops immediately. Even if he still thinks he’s right, they’re more important. He’ll revisit the topic later once both sides are calmer.
   He loves dancing with his S/O under the stars. He’ll activate his ability and hold his lover close as they dance among the stars.
Fyodor Dostoevsky:
Tumblr media
   Falling in love wasn’t exactly something Fyodor had planned on ever doing.
    Even once he enters a relationship, that’s not exactly how he sees it. He was simply intrigued and wanted them, so he went after what he wanted.
     He’s not exactly an honest boyfriend, but he tries not to outright lie to his S/O. That doesn’t mean he won’t, he just usually tries to change the topic or twist the truth.
     He doesn’t really try to hide who he is from his S/O, but he won’t give them much say in what he does anyway.
     He keeps a few tabs on his S/O, but other than that, he lets them do as they please. As long as he gets to be around them and know what they’re doing.
    He won’t ask them to get involved in his work, but if they show interest, he’ll give them mini missions to take care of.
    He enjoys playing games with his lover, especially cards.  He’s always amused at how determined they are to win, only to be utterly defeated. On occasion, he’ll let them win just to see their eyes shine as they gloat about their “victory”
     If he’s in a bad mood, he’ll tend to push his lover away. Although, he won’t stop them if they hug him or want to spend time with him. Because he actually appreciates it
      He’ll pretend that he forgot his S/O’s birthday. He keeps a completely straight face as he sees them look over at him repeatedly out of the corner of his eye. He eventually pulls some clever trick to reveal a present, and soaks in the way his lover goes from gloom to delight over something he sees as a trivial thing.
      But he loves them, and that’s not trivial to him. Although he rarely says it right out.
      He rarely kisses his lover, but it’s all made up for when he does. Because it’s the only time he really shows any kind of vulnerability, and they’re so genuine it’s more telling of his love than any words could convey.
     Fyodor may not actually say “I love you” until he and his lover have been together for a long time, but if his S/O really listens, the message gets through.
Tetchō Suehiro:
Tumblr media
   Tetcho is a bit odd so there may be a few bumps here and there when it comes to a relationship at first.
   Early on, he doesn’t really treat his S/O much different than he treats anyone else.
   He’s takes his job seriously and can seem cold and distant due to his generally stoic nature.
   But a bit of communication can do wonders.
  Once he gets a firm grasp the concept of “dating”, he’ll grow to be more affectionate.
   PDA doesn’t really bother him, and as long as his S/O has no complaints, he’ll be as affectionate as he wants in public.
    He likes to hold his lover’s hand and keep them close to him.
  He’ll often stop and just study his S/O
   How they walk or smile, the little tells they have, any nervous habits, Tetcho could just sit and watch them for hours. He’s not trying to be creepy, he just loves everything about them.
   The first time he kisses his S/O is sudden and casual.
He thinks they look so adorable and feels so grateful that they’re with him, so he leans over and kisses them gently.
   His S/O may be shocked, but he just continues on as if nothing happened.
   He’s very blunt and straight forward, so he doesn’t lie to his S/O.
It can be strange how he speaks his mind without hesitation. But if he thinks his S/O looks good in something, or if he randomly remembers how much he loves them, he’ll say it right then with no context.
   He takes things very seriously, so sometimes his S/O will have to be careful what they wish for. He does listen though, so if they’re just honest with him and try to get things across, he’ll get it.
   If they’re talking, he’s listening.
Although he may stop to train or exercise, he’s still listening.
   Speaking of exercise, he will in fact, use his S/O as a lifting weight. So long as they aren’t freaked out by it.
If his lover is lounging somewhere, he’ll just pick them up.
   He’s always touched by how his S/O worries about him every month when his surgery comes around.
   But he assures them its fine and will always let them know when it’s over so they can relax.
   He may try to convince his lover to eat similar-colored foods, but if they don’t want to he doesn’t mind.
   He’ll try not to gross them out with his food, but he still likes his food how he likes it.

Tumblr media
I am obsessed with Chuuya, I love him so much 🥺
I’m always open and down for Bungo requests guys!
Getting serious for a minute I absolutely adore Kokichi and Danganronpa but I’d like to be known for other stuff too!
Bungo Stray Dogs is my all time favorite anime so It’d be nice to have some Bungo requests if any of you are down for that.
This is the first piece that I’ve written straight from my own ideas and wasn’t Kokichi related in a very long time and I don’t know it just felt really good. I’m not saying I don’t want to write for Kokichi ever again, I absolutely adore him but there’s so many other fandoms I wanna write for as well!
I hope you guys understand if I like take a break from writing Danganronpa stuff every once in awhile, I won’t straight up drop it but it’s nice to have a change of pace every once in awhile! ❤️❤️
Word Count: 1.9k
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Chuuya had a bit of a temper problem, you figured that out quickly. But when it came to anything regarding you, he was even faster to anger than normal. If one of his subordinates (or really any man, or even sometimes women on the street) even so much as looked at you he turned into a ball of fury that nobody but you could stop.
Chuuya was currently holding a meeting with his many subordinates to talk about some… problems that had erupted within his division lately. You went with him, of course. You weren’t a part of the Port Mafia but everyone knew that he hardly ever let you leave his side. You were practically glued together, though you didn’t mind. Hell at this point everyone knew that the two of you were a thing, and everyone knew not to fuck around with what was Chuuya’s.
But apparently one of his subordinates hadn’t been given the message.
He had only left for a few minutes to use the restroom, but when he came back the room had fallen eerily silent.
Except for the sound of a man’s voice, bragging about his ‘amazing kill streak’.
And except for the sound of your awkward laughter, sounding almost desperate as all you wanted was for the other man to leave you alone. He watched, arms crossed and rage bubbling within him as he waited for the other man to notice his presence.
“But yeah, I’ve killed at least a hundred people tops.”
“That’s… nice…”
“So uh, you wanna maybe see a movie or something once this meeting is over? I see you hanging around Chuuya a lot but I can show you a pretty good time too.” He smiled a big, cocky grin your way and moved so that he spoke directly in your ear, his hand falling onto your arm and gently tracing his fingers along your skin. “And maybe after we could go back to my place. I can guarantee I’m a hundred times better in bed than that shortstack.”
You shuddered as you felt his breath hit your face, you were beyond uncomfortable and extremely angry at the fact that this man even had the balls to suggest he was better than Chuuya at ANYTHING. Chuuya could tell instantly just how bad you wanted to escape when your eyes locked with his. He let his anger run wild and within seconds he drew out his gun, so fast you had barely seen his hand even move and placed the barrel directly on the side of the man’s head. “Just who the hell do you think you are? Who gave you permission to touch her? Who gave you permission to even TALK to her, cause I know I sure as hell didn’t.”
The man quickly pulled his hand away from your arm and held them up in defense. You took the opportunity to slide next to Chuuya, holding onto his jacket with a tight grip. This was the first time any of his men had ever tried to make any moves on you, and you had to admit it was kind of scary, they were all members of a mafia so it wasn’t as if you were dealing with a random boy on the street flirting with you. These people were dangerous, and that included your boyfriend but you at least knew you could trust him.
“I-I’m sorry sir I didn’t think it was a big deal I-”
“Didn’t think it was a big deal!? You openly insinuated that you wanted to fuck, god I should just fucking kill you right now!”
“P-Please don’t!”
Chuuya let out a ‘tsk’ sound and brought the gun down to his side, glancing in your direction as he felt your arm practically shaking out of fear, though he couldn’t tell if it was him or the other man that was scaring you.
“Here’s what’s gonna happen.” In one quick motion he kicked his leg up, slamming his foot onto the man’s shoulder, putting more and more pressure until the man was screaming in pain. “You’re going to apologize to her and then, you’re going downstairs for awhile.”
“N-No Chuuya please I promise I’ll-”
There was another aggressive stomp of Chuuya’s foot and you cringed as you heard the loud snapping sound that followed. The man’s scream was ear piercing and most of the other men in the room had to cover their own ears but Chuuya stayed perfectly still, not flinching at all.
“You don’t get it bastard! You touched something that didn’t belong to you. You flirted with MY girlfriend. You play by the rules here, by my rules, and anyone who breaks the rules receives proper punishment.”
He grabbed hold of your arm gently and pulled you so that you stood beside him, though still allowed you to hold onto him for comfort.
Deep down he truly felt bad for making you witness this. He knew how much you hated his mafia tactics but at the same time he wasn’t going to let this man get away with what he had done to you. In Chuuya’s eyes you were an innocent princess who needed protection, and this man had tried to taint your innocent aura. That was enough to push him off the deep end.
“Apologize to her.”
“But-”
He dug his foot into his shoulder with even more force at hearing protest.
“NOW!”
And the man spoke to you through tears. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry!”
Satisfied, Chuuya finally moved his leg back to the ground and stood above the man who had curled himself into a ball on the floor. He let out a scoff at seeing the man so defeated and turned to two of his men in the room. “Take him downstairs. I’ll be there in a few minutes.”
They nodded and each one grabbed his arms, beginning to drag him away but Chuuya placed a hand on one of the men’s chest, stopping them in their tracks.
“Start him off with a few rounds of Serum E.”
The man’s eyes grew wide in horror and he struggled in the two men’s arms. “No! Not Serum E! Chuuya I’m sorry! I-”
His voice was cut off as the door closed with a loud bang behind him. Chuuya let out a long sigh and turned to the remaining men who could do nothing but watch the scene that unfolded before them. “Meeting dismissed. We’ll pick this up another time.”
They dispersed and when the last man left and closed the door behind him Chuuya finally faced to look at you, though he felt awful at seeing the state you were in.
Fresh tears streaming down your cheeks, your body practically shaking in fear. He attempted to place a hand on your shoulder but you flinched away from his touch. You didn’t mean to you were just scared. It always terrified whenever Chuuya went off the deep end like that. He knew this as well and though he tried to hold it back, when it came to you he couldn’t help but be a bit overprotective of you. You weren’t a part of the mafia, you hated fighting or seeing anyone get hurt. You were, in all actuality, just an innocent girl wrapped up in his awful world. In his eyes someone as dangerous as him had no right even being with you so of course he felt the need to protect you and attack anyone that dared lay a finger on you.
“(Y/N)-”
He stepped closer to you, his hands slowly reaching for yours but before he could say more you slammed your eyes shut and lunged at him, hugging him tightly. He could feel your heart racing but he knew your fear was no longer aimed at him but of the situation you had just escaped from.
He ran his fingers through your hair, playing with the ends, intertwining the strands around his fingertips until you pulled away and felt secure enough to talk to him.
“Chuuya… Were you jealous of him?”
He was shocked at your question, but at the same time he couldn’t help but laugh a tiny bit. You had just gotten the courage to speak and THAT’S what you were going to ask him?
“No way. That bastard could never compare to me.”
You smiled at his confidence (or in other words his giant ego). You hated to admit it but it was one of the many things you loved about him, but you continued to tease. “You were I can tell.”
“Oh yeah? How so?”
“Normally if they try anything you’d give them a warning like a bullet to the foot or something… You brought him downstairs for a torture session, didn’t you?”
“You can already see through my tactics huh?”
“Well by now you are pretty easy to figure out…”
The boy smiled at your teasing tone and placed a sweet kiss on your lips in response, still trying his hardest to keep himself calm, though the kiss did help.
“But he really did cross a line…”
You hummed in agreement at his words and he glanced behind you at the clock.
“I suppose I should deal with him now…”
He pulled away, adjusting the gloves on his hands before his eyes fell to the small pout on your lips. “I’ll be right back and after we can go home and I’ll make sure to show you a good time, alright?”
Your face instantly turned a tomato red and you could clearly see the smirk on his face, showing fully well what the other man had said to you, but you also knew that Chuuya wouldn’t hesitate to complete his request either.
“Chuuya!”
He laughed at your embarrassment and shrugged his shoulders. “What? That bastard told you he’d be better than me in bed right? Well now I gotta remind everyone who’s Top Dog around here, and that includes you.”
“Chuuya I swear to god… You keep talking like that and you won’t be getting ANYTHING.”
“I was joking, honest.”
“Mhmm…” You nodded. “Sure you were.”
He once again kissed you, this time on the cheek before cupping your chin in his fingers and staring at you. It was rare for Chuuya to get affectionate and sentimental with you, it hurt his pride too much, unless it was in private, in which case he was a big softie. But the smile he gave you was kind, and full of nothing but love. He didn’t want to leave, he wanted to go home now, to hell with that man, but he had to put him in his place. That was his job after all.
He reached on his head and took off his hat, placing it on the top of your head, his smile only growing more as he watched your eyes light up in joy. “I’ll see you in an hour or so Princess.”
“I love yooouuu Chuuya.”
He couldn’t stop the smirk that fell on his face as he blew a kiss back towards you, but quickly returned his composure as he opened the door. He’d never let anyone see the soft side of him, no one but you. “Yeah, yeah, whatever, I love you too.”
P R E F E R E N C E # 3 - D R U N K S H E N A N I G A N S
A K U T A G A W A
“If you ever return her to me in less than perfect condition again...Well, Y/N, wouldn’t really appreciate me finishing that statement. Just don’t let it happen again. Understood?” The seriousness that his face illustrated was even more frightening than the inflection in his voice. The two friends nodded in agreement, unable to muster up the words and courage to apologize again. Furthermore, they thought it might be better to not say anything at all at this point. Which is why after a few awkward seconds they began to back away slowly before scurrying down the porch, almost tripping over each other to get back in their car. Aku could hardly hide his chuckle as he turned to enter the house where he could hear you fumbling around in the kitchen. “Now, what am I supposed to do with you?” He muttered to himself, amusement flitting to his face. “I’m so hungry.” You pouted, arms crossed, lip jutted out. “Did your mean friends not even feed you?” Aku inquired, beginning to pull out a pan and fill it with water. “No. They took me straight home. They knew you’d probably be mad and they didn’t want to make matters worse by getting me home later. I think they’re frightened by you.” Akutagawa couldn’t help but to smirk at this, turning the heat on the stove as he began to prepare your very late dinner. “Smart friends. How does ramen sound? The carbs will be good for you, soak up some of that alcohol.” Aku explained, biting his lip to avoid the smile that was fighting it’s way through. You had curled yourself around his backside, your arms wrapping tight around his waist. He could feel your warm cheek pressing to his shoulder blade, your hot breath sending internal shivers down his spine. He was so thankful you couldn’t hear his thoughts, let alone see his face; he was completely smitten by you and it was particularly hard to control when you were acting like this. “Mmmm. Sounds good. Though, Aku, would you mind giving me a kiss first please?” He rolled his eyes, but smiled nonetheless. Sober Y/N was never this forward. “Of course,” Turning around to embrace you in a tight hug, he leaned down and brushed his lips against yours, electricity shooting all over his body in an invigorating frenzy. Your hands found their way to knot in his hair, his hands slipping to your lower back. Unlike most of your kisses that were typically very controlled and romantic, this one was wild and unpredictable. He almost let out a moan when you bit down on his lip, granting entrance for his tongue, your hand trailing down his chest slowly...“That’s enough for now.” Aku breathed, trying to recover from the whirlwind his head was currently in. “Woah,” you agreed, almost losing your footing as you stumbled backward. Aku was just in time to catch you in his arms, steadying you before leading you to a bar stool, forcing you to sit and rest. As he cooked your food, he couldn’t help but to thank the lucky stars that he could do this; that he could take care of you and be a good partner. It was a great feeling for him, being able to do this, knowing that he could be there for you when you needed. That is until he looked up and noticed you had already passed out there, head slumped in your arms. “You drunk little fox,” were his last words before draping a blanket over your shoulders while he finished cooking.
“Careful, my love.” Dazai chided softly, his arms reaching to steady you after he threw an oversize t-shirt on the bed for you, as you fumbled to get your heels off. “Allow me,” He smiled politely, lifting you gracefully so that you were sitting promptly on the bed now. You both had just gotten home from a celebration party with the agency and you had ingested one too many glasses of champagne. “There you go,” He sighed, chucking your shoes behind him before massaging your swollen ankles. He never really understood why you wore such poor choices in shoes when they hurt you the way they did, but he couldn’t deny how irresistible your legs looked when you wore them. Then again, you looked irresistible all of the time to him. “Dazaiiiiiiiii, help!” you whined, scratching at your back trying to unzip your own dress. It took Dazai a moment to pick up on your endeavors, the soft kisses he was peppering on your ankles halting. “Of course, yes.” Dazai obliged, scurrying from the ground to join you on the bed. Slowly unzipping the back of your dress, Dazai tried his best to be a perfect gentlemen, failing miserably as he took in your nude back, clad in only your matching bra and panty set, lust twinkling in his eyes. He swallowed the lump in his throat, letting out an exhale as he stared at the ceiling desperately trying to distract himself. ‘She’s drunk, she’s drunk, she’s drunk’, Dazai chanted to himself internally, trying his best not to touch what he so badly wanted to. “Much better.” You stated, standing to your feet, allowing the dress to drop around your ankles, leaving you nude right before his eyes. “Yes, indeed.” He bit his lip, his brain clouded when you walked over to him on the bed and straddled him. Fingers running through his shaggy locks, you leaned in and began to kiss him on the mouth with vehemence and passion. Dazai was shocked at your newfound confident nature, but wasn’t about to argue it as he reciprocated with the same fire and energy. Arms wrapping around your waist, he pulled you even closer deepening the kiss as he slipped his tongue in your mouth while you were attempting to catch your own breath. Untangling your fingers from his hair, your hands reached to unclaspe your bra clumsily. That’s when it all clicked for him. His head had been so full of excitement, that it took him a quick second to remember what was really happening. He could taste the alcohol on your breath, see the disconnect in your eyes; you weren’t all there. This was wrong. “Belladonna, I love you and I typically love when you try to undress yourself, but this isn’t right. You’re not all here at the moment unfortunately and I can’t in good concience do anything with you without your full, sober consent.” He spoke slowly so you would understand, but you only let out a huge puff of unsastisfied air in response. “This is me giving you my consent,” You leaned in for a kiss, but Dazai intercepted kissing your forehead instead, forcing your arms up as he tugged the oversized t-shirt over your head. “Y/N. You know we can’t.” Dazai reasoned, pulling the covers back as he pat the open space beside him. “But I can hold you until you fall asleep? How does that sound?” His words were like melting honey. How could you deny that even if you were drunk? You were never one to turn down Dazai cuddles. Collapsing against his chest, you let out a small ‘hmph’ in a disatisfied pout, trying to ignore how good his arms felt around your body. “I know I’m no fun, but I love you very much.” He said after a moment. You had attempted to say it back, but the drunkness was already taking over and you were already growing very tired. He laughed at your attempt nonetheless and smoothed your hair back lovingly. “You sure are a riot when you drink.” Were his last words before allowing him to fall asleep with you happily in his arms.
C H U U Y A
You had gone completely silent. Chuuya thought you had simply fallen asleep because typically car rides did that for you when you were drunk. Furthermore, he didn’t think much of it. That is until he heard the sniffling. And the fidgeting. And the ragged breathing. “Y/F/N.” He would say calmly, sneaking a glance over your way. He could already tell just by looking at you that you were trying to hide your face from him. You were an emotional drunk and you were definitely crying. “Y/N. Look at me,” He would demand, grabbing your hand in his and kissing your knuckles gently. Chuuya had witnessed this on so many occasions that he had grown desensitized to your overdramatic actions while under the influence. In fact, it was one of his favorite things to talk and joke about the next day because he knew it was simply just the alcohol taking its toll. That didn’t mean, however, he still wasn’t going to bust his ass to at least try and cheer you up. Your smile was priceless to him after all. “Baby, why are you crying?” He would sigh as you finally peaked at him through your hair. “Because I just-I just-I just love you so much, Chuuya!” You would gasp in between hysterical sobs, your crying becoming progressively louder as you threw your fists over your eyes. “You don’t even know how hot you are, it’s awful. I just want to kiss your stupid face all of the time.” You wailed miserably. Chuuya was quiet for a moment and then suddenly he broke out into a loud guffaw. Were you seriously crying over how much you loved him? And how hot you thought he was? Oh, how he was going to LOVE to remind you of this in the morning. Mortified wouldn’t even begin to touch on it. “And now you’re-you’re laughing at me! Do you not love me back anymore? That would suck a lot.” This made him laugh even harder, though he was making a genuine effort to calm down to comfort you even if you were being ridiculous. “My sweet, silly, beautiful girl. If only you knew how much I really loved you. Words cannot even begin to make a dent on the love I have for your very drunken self.” The car came to a halt as he pulled up to your shared apartment, turning to look at you with complete sincerity. “Why are you laughing then?” You would ask timidly, your tears now drying against your puffy cheeks. “Because It’s funny to me that you would even have to consider asking me if I still love you. I will always love you till my last breath and so on. Of course, I love you. I’ll scream it and wake up the entire neighbor hood if you want me to,” He offered opening his car door and slamming it before coming to the passenger side to get you. When you didn’t budge, he cocked his head to the side in confusion. “Well, aren’t you going to tell the neighbors?” He rolled his eyes, lifting up your unwiling body as he kicked the door shut with his foot. Oh, how he loved his very stubborn girlfriend. “I really do love you Y/N. More than I’ve ever loved anything in my life.” He soothed you, kissing the space in between your eyes as he walked you through the threshold of your apartment. “I love you Chuuya.”
C-can I request a high school au?, what if dazai convinced fem!reader to pretend to be his gf so that the girls he was hitting on would go away because they wanted to get serious with him, Scenario with lots of angst and a fluff ending please!
This turned into a full-on fic.... I just really love this idea. And highschool AUs?? Love it (there’s also underage drinking, so be warned) Also, a freshman is a first-year high school student, in case anyone was confused. -Zi
“Be my girlfriend!”
You were sure the shock was written all over your face. You had a crush on Osamu since the eighth grade and now he was really asking you to date him?
“Not really, of course, I just need people to leave me alone.”
Oh.
Oh.
Of course. Why would he date you? He’d probably flirted with half the school by now and had girls practically chasing him. I’m so deep in the friendzone he trusts me to be his fake date...
Despite the aching in your chest as his request, for some reason, you agreed. So, now you sat at your friend group’s lunch table, fake flirting with a guy you were hopelessly in love with.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Atsushi asked as Dazai wrapped his arm around your shoulder. The freshman looked somewhat uncomfortable and a bit concerned that this would all go wrong.
“Of course! I don’t have to get into a real relationship and everyone leaves me alone! It’s perfect!” Dazai said. “Besides, Y/n agreed!” He gave Atsushi the full, gleaming smile you adored and you nodded slowly. It physically hurt to be in his arms and still only be a friend.
The only people aware of your crush were Kunikida, a close friend, and Chuuya a friend of both you and Dazai. They had advised you to say no, but you didn’t know what was worse. Pretending to be his fake girlfriend or watching every girl in school try to get him to date them.
Chuuya tried reassuring you that he really didn’t want to date them, but that didn’t make you feel any better. Who’s to say he won’t ask one of them instead? Or maybe he’ll actually fall in love and leave you behind? No. This was the much better option.
So, you slowly suffered in silence.
It got worse as time went on. Most girls respected that he had a girlfriend and moved on, but there were a few who seemed relentless. They’d come up to you, insisting you dump him or try to sabotage you in some way.
Of course, it never worked since you weren’t dating in the first place. He only laughs off each attempt. Sometimes he’d say that he didn’t even know why they believed you were dating. You’d laugh along with him. If Kunikida was there, he’d shake his head slowly and scold Dazai for being an idiot (of course, Dazai had no idea what he did).
Most times you’d rant to Kunikida or Chuuya and they’d patiently listen, much like you would do for them. They’d lend you what support they could in their own unique ways.
If you wanted to feel better, you’d call Kunikida. He’d come over and make tea and the two of you could talk and watch TV together until late at night.
But if you felt like wallowing in your own misery, you’d call Chuuya. He was the type to indulge your more self-destructive tendencies.
“You should tell him,” Chuuya said, late one night. The both of you were on his bedroom floor, drinking from a stolen bottles of his parent’s wine. You weren't quite drunk, but you definitely weren’t thinking straight.
“No way. I’d have to plan something, I’d be putting our whole friendship on the line when he clearly doesn’t like me. I can’t lose him. You stared at his bedroom ceiling, the dark colors making the room look smaller in the dim light of his bedside lamp. “Besides, I don’t I’d ever do that sober.” You giggled, realizing that you’d probably drank more than you thought.
“Then do it now.” He said, reaching over to grab your phone from your pocket and waving it in your face. He took another swig. It was becoming clear that the two of you should probably put the alcohol down.
“Are you kidding?” You said, questioning his sanity.
“No!” He shoved the bottle of red in your face. “Chug this and do it.” You hesitated before grabbing the bottle, taking a few large sips before finding Dazai’s contact.
You have no idea what time it was. You hadn’t bothered to look at the clock so you were shocked when he actually picked up.
“Y/n? Everything alright?” He asked. You had clearly woken him up, his voice deeper and groggy. Honestly, it sounded amazing.
“F-fine.” You couldn’t tell if the stuttering was from nerves or wayyyy too much wine, but you took another swig. Chuuya took the bottle out of your hand setting it aside. He whispered that you’d probably had too much. You let him take it. If Chuuya was telling you to stop drinking, you’d really gone overboard.
“You don’t sound fine? Is someone else there?” He sounded a bit more awake now. With your thinking impaired, you didn’t bother lying.
“Just Chuuya.” You heard a sigh on the other end. He never liked it when the two of you hung out alone. It usually meant you were talking about him (which was correct about 99% of the time). “I have something to tell you.”
Chuuya was beside you giving a lopsided smirk. “Alright then. Afterward, get some rest though, it’s almost 4am.” That late already?
“I’ve been in love with you since middle school. And I know we’re only fake dating now, but I really want to go out with you.” There was a pause. “Like for real. Not fake dating.” You added, hoping you were making sense.
Then, the line went dead.
Dead.
That wasn’t what you were expecting.
Maybe laughing? Him asking why you ever thought you’d be good enough for him, or maybe even anger. Him yelling about you ruining a good friendship or messing up his little fake-dating plan.
You were expecting him to hang up.
“No fuckin way,” Chuuya said, looking over at you as you stared down at the screen. “That bastard.” His voice had more malice in it that his usual insults toward Dazai. You only laid back on the floor, letting Chuuya comfort you as tears silently poured down your cheeks.
At school, lunch was like your safe-haven. Your group would all eat together, though Chuuya sat at a different table, you had a nice group of people to socialize with. It was a short time where you could ignore the pile of work you had due and focus on being with your friends. Friends that usually, that included Dazai. So today, you sat in an empty hallway, hoping none of the teachers would walk past and see you sulking against a wall.
You stared at the ceiling, slowly eating the food you had brought as you thought about the call with Dazai. You shut your eyes tight.
How stupid do you get? Calling him?? Never take Chuuya’s advice. Next time, I’m asking Kunikida. Hell! Ranpo would’ve had better advice than Chuuya.
You didn’t bother opening them, even when you could feel someone’s presence in front of you. If it was a teacher, they would’ve yelled at you already. It was probably a worried friend or something.
“Y/n?” You knew that voice. You recognize it anywhere. You cracked open your eyes, recognizing the boy’s tan jacket. “You alright?” Dazai asked, taking a seat next to you. You only stared down at your legs, hoping your silence would answer his question.
“I’m sorry for hanging up.” His voice didn’t waver at all. You nodded, not trusting your voice to give him a real answer. “You didn’t sound exactly sober and with Chuuya around I knew you probably weren’t in the best headspace and hanging up was a stupid response, but...” He trailed off.
His fingers touched your chin, tilting your head toward him. You focused all your energy on not tearing up. “Now that you aren’t drunk with whatever Chuuya had, did you mean that?” Yet again, you didn’ trust your voice. You knew there was no point in denying it though. You’d go back to the depressing cycle of loving him and watching him chase someone else. So, you nodded.
A small smile spread on his face. It wasn’t one you recognized from all the times he’d flirt with your classmates. It was more genuine. His lips met yours as his fingers pulled your head closer. You kissed back desperately, hoping you didn’t just make this all up.
“I love you too. I... always thought you loved Chuuya. I didn't want to chase you... so I figured fake dating was about as close as I’d get.” He pulled you closer, letting you drop your head on his shoulder. Though the action was calm, the way his hands clung to yours showed how desperate he had been for any sort of real affection.
Affection you’d gladly give him.
Needing to kiss your soulmate to stay alive sounds romantic in context, but absolutely shitty in reality if you’re bound to someone you despise with all your heart and soul.
The act of being human by purplesan (31,457 - complete)
‘This is Chuuya Nakahara, your new caretaker.’ his mother stated. Dazai’s eyes only widened in shock.
‘A robot?’
‘Kind of a degrading term, but yes; a robot.’
Dazai’s glaring only intensified. ‘I don’t need some pathetic excuse of a toy as a caretaker. No one can replace Odasaku anyway. Couldn't you have gotten me a pet instead?’
Chuuya didn’t seem to be affected by Dazai’s insults, which only showed how very non-human he actually was.
‘Stop behaving like a spoiled brat! We could have sent you to a clinic the moment you decided to behave like this, but instead we spent a lot of money on getting you this expensive solution.’
‘You could have spent more money on getting protection for Odasaku.’
(In which all 7 year-old Dazai really wants is to get back Odasaku, but gets Chuuya instead. Though in the end, perhaps the hatrack isn't all that terrible)
chuuya is red hot and dazai is so not by toriosaurus (12,040 - complete)
Dazai couldn't wrap his brain around it. How could the student population think that Chuuya Nakahara was more attractive than him? And, alright, sure, maybe professors shouldn't get caught up in petty drama. But to Dazai, this wasn't just drama. This was war. A war in which he was not going to lose.
Finally, Chuuya eloquently said, “I don’t want to date you.” Dazai huffed. “Yeah, well, I’m not too thrilled at the idea of having a crazy rockstar boyfriend. But you got us into this mess, you need to help us get out of it.” Had Dazai gone insane? Nakahara Chuuya and Dazai Osamu, dating? Had Chuuya not made it clear through the dozens of direct and indirect meetings that he despised Dazai with every fiber in his body.
Featuring: drunk tweets, falling in love, horrendous song writing, cheesy interviews, learning how to "fake it," and Chuuya getting over the headache that is Dazai. Not necessarily in that order.
“I heard she’s glued to him every single minute of the day. He seems to really like her as well! I’ve never seen him so sweet to anybody!”
Kyouka had given Atsushi the day off, which she probably thought was a kindness. It means, however, that Atsushi is hanging around the bunker without much to do, and he’s bored. His days have been so filled with action and work that having an entire day to himself isn’t something he’s quite sure what to do with.
“Come with me.” Atsushi jumps at Gin’s sudden appearance. She’s probably been there for a while, but she moves so silently it’s nearly impossible to track her movements.
“What?”
“You’re not busy. Everyone else is.”
Atsushi glances over at Akutagawa, who hasn’t paid them any attention. He’s so absorbed in his work that the tea by his elbow isn’t even steaming anymore. Atsushi has a wild urge to wreck that still image.
“Don’t,” Gin warns, but apparently she’s spoken enough to gather Akutagawa’s attention. He glances up at them both staring at him.
“What?”
“Nothing,” Gin says. “I’m taking Nakajima to the market.”
Akutagawa shrugs and goes back to his work.
“I’ll keep an eye out for trouble,” he says.
“All the rats are back from No. 6?” Atsushi asks. He’d only realized they left two behind after they’d gotten back, but everyone had assured him that it was normal for the rats to be left on their own for long stretches. Then Atsushi had wondered why he was so attached to robots. Cute as they were, they weren’t actually alive.
“Cravat is still there,” Akutagawa says. “I’m working with him. Hamlet and Rashomon will keep an eye on you.”
“I still think Rashomon is a little over the top for a rat.”
“You named one Cravat, which isn’t even a real thing.”
“Yes it is!”
“Stop,” Gin sighs. “Nakajima. Come on.”
“Better you than me,” Akutagawa says. “I guess you’re not completely useless, though.”
Atsushi freezes with whatever insult – or maybe blow, he hadn’t really thought it through – he was preparing to throw at Akutagawa, because that might be the nicest thing Akutagawa has ever said to him.
Which says a lot, to be honest.
How strange that as soon as Atsushi stops taking any amount of Akutagawa’s shit, as soon as he’s willing to fight back, Akutagawa becomes a whole lot more tolerable.
“So what do we need from the market?” Atsushi asks. If this is just a shopping trip, it will officially be the most normal thing he’s done since he left No. 6.
“We went to all that trouble of getting those medicines, now we have to sell them,” Gin says. “Some of them, anyway. We’ll hold onto some until the money gets better.”
“Don’t people really need those?”
“That’s not our problem.” Ostensibly, Gin is the better of the Akutagawa siblings, but she’s still a product of this harsh world. She’s just as ruthless as Akutagawa, and Atsushi should stop forgetting that because she doesn’t have such a problem with him personally.
“Do you need them for Akutagawa’s lungs?” Atsushi asks. He’d noticed the cough Akutagawa really can’t seem to drop, and it can’t be just a passing cold.
“If there’s a medicine that can fix those, we haven’t found it yet,” Gin says. “He’s not dying. So it’s all okay.”
Still, Atsushi has been living with the siblings for a few months now. He can see the care Gin takes of Akutagawa, the way she takes on physical tasks so he doesn’t have to, the way her eyebrows pinch together when one of his coughing fits goes on for just a little too long. Gin might speak roughly to and about him, but she cares.
And Akutagawa cares about her right back. Maybe that’s easy, considering she’s his little sister, but Atsushi knows he takes more care with her than with Dazai and Chuuya. The two of them have been gone all day, and as far as Atsushi knows, Akutagawa hasn’t bothered to use the rats to check in on them. The arguably less risky trip to the market warrants backup, though, and Atsushi is sure it’s purely because Gin is going.
It shouldn’t be so surprising that under all that anger, Akutagawa is human. Maybe it’s just that Atsushi doesn’t like to have to look at him that way.
“So how does this work?” Atsushi asks. “Is there a stand? Do we have a cash register?”
“Of course not,” Gin scoffs. “Kyouka-chan has already spread the word that we have the medicines. People will come to us.”
“That seems less efficient,” Atsushi says. Gin shrugs.
“It works,” she says. “We’ll probably sell some to one of the vendors, if they offer enough. We usually get a better price from people seeking us out, though. People can get desperate.”
“You’re all…kind of terrible people. No offense.”
Gin doesn’t look all that bothered.
“I can see why you annoy my brother so much,” she says. “Bleeding heart, no substance. I get why he hates you.”
“Who says I have no substance?” Atsushi asks. “I can back this up.”
“Can you?” Gin asks. “Living isn’t free. We need the money and the trade to survive. Even the work you do with Kyouka-chan falls under that. She makes some money renting her dogs, but mostly she makes money on her information. That shipment she tipped us off on? It was in exchange for some of what we got.”
“But that doesn’t mean we have to let people die, does it?” Atsushi asks. “Can’t there be a balance?”
“We have to survive first,” Gin says. “And that’s why my brother hates you. You’re so willing to sacrifice yourself for someone else that you won’t bother to save yourself. It makes you dangerous.”
“Dangerous?”
“They say the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
Atsushi sits with that all the way through Gin’s first customer, someone she gouges so hard on a bottle of aspirin that Atsushi winces.
“I still think there can be a middle ground,” Atsushi says. “Between surviving and letting everyone else die. The world doesn’t have to be black and white.”
“So you say,” Gin says. “You’re not so bad. But if it comes down to it, I’m going to choose my brother over you.”
“That’s fair.”
In spite of everything, Atsushi really does like Gin. She’s not so hard to get along with. She might have her brother’s temper, but it’s rarely directed at him.
She reminds Atsushi of what Akutagawa was like when they were kids, before Akutagawa decided he hated Atsushi with every fiber of his being.
“Is that really the reason he hates me?” Atsushi asks. Not that it bothers him that Akutagawa hates him, necessarily. Atsushi isn’t Akutagawa’s biggest fan either. But it was a pretty abrupt shift, and Atsushi can’t imagine why it happened.
“Dazai-san approves of you,” Gin says.
“And?”
“And he doesn’t approve of much Ryuu does.”
“And?”
“Stop playing dumb,” Gin says. “You can’t be this stupid. You have to have noticed how they act around each other.”
Atsushi has noticed the strain in Dazai and Akutagawa’s relationship, the way Akutagawa seems so desperate for Dazai’s regard. What he doesn’t understand is why.
“Dazai-san and Chuuya-san took us in when we were younger,” Gin says. “Well, they found me first. It was over a year before we found Ryuu again. I’m not sure Dazai-san would have let him stay if it wasn’t for me.”
“Why?”
“You’d have to ask him.” Gin’s eyes are shadowed, so Atsushi can’t quite see them. “I’m grateful to them for looking after us when we needed it, for teaching us how to survive. But I’ve never liked how Dazai-san treats my brother. And Ryuu respects him for being the one to save us, him and Chuuya-san, so he just wants them to both acknowledge him. I wish that just Chuuya-san could be enough.”
Really, though, Atsushi thinks he might get why Dazai treats Akutagawa the way he does, at least a little. Akutagawa fights first and asks questions later. He kills before he looks for another way. Dazai, who thinks his way around every situation, couldn’t possibly approve of that approach.
A light tap on Atsushi’s shoulder makes him turn from the conversation, and Rashomon sits in the corner of his vision.
“Get out of there!” Akutagawa’s voice comes out.
“What?”
Atsushi looks around, immediately looking for a threat. He doesn’t see anything out of the ordinary. It’s just a market, people milling around, going about their business. The loudest thing here is someone down the block haggling with a vendor.
“Start running now!” Akutagawa’s voice shouts even louder. “I’m on my way, he’s coming for you!”
“Who’s coming?” Atsushi asks, turning and looking desperately. What is Akutagawa talking about?
“Run!”
And far too late, Atsushi sees what Akutagawa means.
Gin is just as busy looking for a threat as Atsushi is, more focused than he was, not even bothering to question her brother. But she’s looking in the opposite direction, expecting Atsushi to be watching his own side, and from that angle, she can’t see the man charging them both with a knife.
Atsushi doesn’t have time to warn her. He only has time to put himself between her and the man with a knife, raising his arms in a weak attempt to protect himself.
He hisses as the knife stabs into his forearm, and Gin whips around. She’s in motion in a second, kicking the man away from them both.
“Give me the medicine,” he demands, climbing back to his feet to swing at them again.
Suddenly, Akutagawa is there, cheeks flushed an unhealthy color from how fast he’s running, and he draws his own knife across the man’s throat, arterial spray coating Atsushi’s shirt. Atsushi gapes as Akutagawa drops the man without a second thought, going straight for Gin.
“Are you okay?” he demands. “Hurt anywhere?”
Gin shakes her head, pointing at Atsushi’s arm. Atsushi looks down. The knife is still stuck in his arm, and it doesn’t hurt all that bad. Atsushi’s sat through enough lectures from Yosano to know that’s only because he’s in shock. He twists his arm anyway, almost fascinated by the way the knife sticks under his skin, like it’s not really a part of him.
“Stop playing with it,” Akutagawa growls. “Both of you, let’s move.”
Akutagawa thrusts the cravat – and it is a real word, not matter what he says – he wears around his neck at Atsushi, and Atsushi accepts it, wrapping it around where the knife stabs in. There isn’t much blood for now, and Atsushi knows better than to remove the knife and change that.
Dazai and Chuuya are back by the time they’re safe in the bunker, and both of their eyes widen when they see the three of them.
“What did you three do?” Chuuya demands. Dazai takes Atsushi’s arm, inspecting it critically.
“We were attacked in the market,” Atsushi says. “Someone wanted the medicine.”
“Are either of you hurt?” Chuuya asks.
“Someone’s not using his eyes,” Dazai teases, but most of his attention is on Atsushi’s arm.
“Fuck you, I can see Nakajima’s arm, I meant hurt anywhere else,” Chuuya snaps.
“We’re fine,” Gin says. Her voice is soft and almost shaken. “Ryuu warned us in time.”
“Good work,” Dazai says absently. Akutagawa visibly straightens from the praise. “Well, Atsushi-kun, if you had to get injured, you picked a good time to do it. We have the stuff to stitch you up.”
As if in response to Dazai’s words, Atsushi’s arm starts to throb. Atsushi tries not to squirm. He’s not the biggest fan of needles.
He turns away from where Dazai’s working, trying to ignore the feeling of his skin knitting back together, watching Akutagawa, Gin, and Chuuya discuss what happened.
“Looks like we’ll be better off selling to a vendor this time,” Chuuya says after a hushed discussion. “Medicine might be a little too much in demand. If we’re just going to get attacked each time, it’ll be more trouble than it’s worth.”
“We should still get a good enough price that way,” Akutagawa says.
“Alright, Atsushi-kun, you’re good to go,” Dazai tells him. Atsushi finally looks down to inspect Dazai’s work. A white bandage wraps neatly around his right forearm, hiding the cut entirely. Dazai picks up his other hand and puts a few pills in his palm.
“Take.”
“I don’t need painkillers.” Atsushi might be trying to put on a brave face, just a little. His arm really hurts now that he’s calmed down and adrenaline isn’t masking the pain.
“They’re actually antibiotics,” Dazai says. “You don’t want a nasty infection taking your arm off, do you?”
Atsushi shakes his head, dumping the pills in his mouth and standing to get a glass of water.
“Oh, and one of them was a painkiller,” Dazai adds as Atsushi gulps his water down. Atsushi chokes on it. “You’ll thank me later.”
“I think it’s fair for everyone to call it a day,” Chuuya says. “One attack is enough for now.”
Atsushi doesn’t think he’ll have such a hard time sitting around this time.
Gin stays on the couch, though, still talking to Chuuya, a cup of tea gripped just a little too tightly in her hands. Atsushi and Akutagawa leave her to it, heading back to the other room. They let the silence sit uncomfortably for a while, and Atsushi suddenly realizes he has something he can hold against Akutagawa, and it’s something he can use.
“I saved Gin’s life.”
Akutagawa snorts.
“Gin doesn’t owe you shit, Jinko,” Akutagawa says. “Did you forget the part where she saved your life first?”
“I never said Gin owed me anything,” Atsushi says. “You do.”
Akutagawa whips around, teeth already baring.
“Fuck you.”
“You do, though.” Atsushi can play Akutagawa’s game, if that’s what it takes.
“What do you want, Jinko?”
“Stop killing people.”
Akutagawa stares at him, eyes still narrowed in anger.
“Why?” he demands. “Why would you hold this over me and ask for that?”
“Because I’m going to show you something other than killing,” Atsushi says. He doesn’t understand Akutagawa’s view of himself, his relentless pursuit of strength when he already has so much. He’s proven he has a good mind, and if Atsushi can force him to stop killing, he’ll use that instead.
Akutagawa’s hands come up, like he’s about to reach out and strangle Atsushi, but he stops himself.
“Fine,” Akutagawa growls. “For six months, I won’t kill anyone. Good enough?”
Atsushi shrugs. Six months should be enough to prove his point.
“It’s a deal.”
