its lore time baby!!
just a quick one cus im still working on finals lol anyways
Tumblr media Tumblr media
hmmmmm...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
shout out to @starksnarks for this one! you've got a good eye!! (i believe youre the first to spot this, if anyone else wants to be credited feel free to let me know!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the professors glowing eyes in the asmodeus episode thumbnail looks Very Similar to the glowing eyes at the end of 5x01
Tumblr media Tumblr media
this ones kinda minor, but still worth mentioning. ryan doesnt exactly hear whispers, but (what i am assuming is the substitute) does walk around watcher hq scaring ryan into leaving after connie outbids him.
Tumblr media
plus this triple head imagery (along with the 3 eyes) i covered this more in debth here.
somethings gotta be happening with asmodeus. its possible that the real professors name is concupiscence, but it would be cool if the hologram is asmodeus' demon buddy. its not like shane would notice the professors first name changing (he didnt even meet the real professor) and its not like ryan knows the professors first name anyways.
im not sure if we're gonna get any more clarification on what the hologram is and where he came from (who built him? why does he have the professors mind? why he so fucked up?) but if we do, im putting all my chips on asmodeus right now. i had a strong idea that the genie was responsible (i mean, he has the most motive out of all of them) but since the lamp is in play, it doesnt make sense for the genie to want the lamp. the devil is also kinda out becuase he was auditioning to be host, and seemed kinda sad he didnt get the part. so that leaves asmodeus or another demon associated with asmodeus.
honestly after ep 5 im just so excited to see where shane is gonna take us next with the lore. there were so many twists that i thought i was prepared for but i wasnt, and i got so excited when i saw some of the theories yall have been throwing out come true. im just excited for friday! really hoping i can get some time to scream and post along with you guys becuase ill be busy with holiday stuff most of the afternoon and night.
anyways! hope yall like the theory! lemme know ur thoughts and additions!!

cw: blood and spoilers for Rick and Morty S7 E5
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
doodles cause I was bored.
this mainly helps my au where she's alive. I also really like the idea of Rick scaring her on accident by telling her she might be a clone essentially, and ever since then she's been worried she was (she is) and Rick would just never give her clarity on this.

so you want to know the lore, huh?
Tumblr media
(part 1 of ???)
there will be discussions of things like abuse, child abuse, child neglect, domestic abuse, child murder, homicide, self-harm, and torture; these are all mentioned briefly and not further elaborated on, but are still integral parts of the 80s universe, ESPECIALLY with Chuck. you have been warned.
I have my own universes comprised of ONLY my characters, but let's start with the gang I share with Ben first.
Tumblr media
it's the same cast of characters (minus a few side characters essentially) for what I call the Sane/Modern and 80s universes.
the 80s universe is split into two subsections: a story where Elijah is the main killer we focus on and Jack died young, and a story where Jack is the main killer and Elijah died young. I'll go into further detail about the differences between the two in a later post with Ben's help, but all you need to know right now is that I'm usually talking about the story where Jack is the serial killer, aka Jack's universe, because the two main characters (Edgar and Jack) both belong to me. here's the rundown on Jack's universe:
Jack has a total of 15 murder victims that we focus on, them being his twin Eli, his little sister Maddison, his older sister Hannah, his father, Olivia, Leah, Beth, Owen, Alexa, Mason, Jiang, Jun, Noah, Dew, and his son Sal
11/15 are ghosts that possess the home Edgar lives in because that was Jack's dumping grounds for the bodies
Edgar's home used to be Jack's childhood home that Jack burnt down (that's how he got the burn scars and extreme fear of fire)
Eddie and Jack met when Eddie was 18 and Jack was 16, 2 years after Eddie came from France to America
Jack is a very very very abusive partner to Eddie (and later Dew, who dies because she had a son without him knowing)
Isaac, the only biological family of Jack's that isn't dead, was traumatized by the death of the rest of his family and subsequently seeing Jack's (15) half-burned body and dead stare in the hospital
Isaac (8) went on to be raised by his dad alone, Jack's step-dad
Jack disappears after this incident and goes under a new name, Chuck Young
Edgar finds out about the whole murder thing sometime before Isaac and Noah pop up
Isaac and Noah enter Eddie's life and red flags go off in their head when they see Jack and Eddie together
Jack eventually disappears (which is normal for him) and doesn't return for years, leaving Eddie to slowly start to rebuild after the trauma and fall in love with Isaac and Noah, believing that Jack's dead
Isaac and Noah find out about the ghosts, Isaac is horribly confused and upset and joyful to see his sisters again
Isaac and Noah proceed to become father figures to the ghosts as they get closer and closer with Eddie
Jack murders Dew and Sal and returns to Eddie's home, where he ends up killing Noah in an altercation
Isaac, terrified of his brother, flees
Edgar is forced to pick up the pieces and deal with Jack for the next several years
Eddie eventually kills Jack in "self-defense" and has a breakdown immediately after
Isaac returns since Jack has been killed
the ghosts slowly fade away and move on
story ends when Edgar dies
the modern universe is predicated on the concept of "what if Jack and Elijah were normal people and didn't commit serial killings?" the 80s universe is definitely the more fleshed out of the two, given it's been worked on for nearly a decade now. here's the rundown of the sane universe:
set in the modern era
primarily follows the Robinson-Nhat family (which I call the Le Family because of Jack, Eli, Hannah, Mads, and Isaac's mother's maiden name; Maddie and Isaac are full siblings to each other but half-siblings to the other 3)
nobody is dead!!
everybody is younger and has birthdates to match
Isaac and Edgar are usually best friends
Elijah is less "school shooter" and more "edgy young adult who thinks listening to MCR makes him unique"
here's a helpful guide to illustrate the differences (and similiarities) between Modern Jack and 80s Jack!
Jack is less "extreme sadist who commits prolonged torture for his enjoyment and actively searched for new ways to kill" and more "dude who robs people and loves his family"
is more of a sandbox for ideas than anything super story-based
Tumblr media
a big theme of Jack's story in both cases is the cycle of abuse. modern him fights to stop it, and 80s him eventually ends up so, so much worse than his father ever was.
that concludes part 1.

hey howdy ive been away for a while but im healing from surgery and rebuilding drawing stamina. so here's a redesign of beth as a child but for the purpose of me joining @campweehawken this year heehaha
below cut is story info for me to participate but if u just wanna enjoy the drawing go ahead
ok! so. tldr version: this is an iteration of my oc beth where she's a child (didnt settle on an exact age; her range is 7-10), she's being dumped here by her parents neva and orlando collins while they're busy with business and dont have time this year to "indulge" their kid in attention. she's a bit quiet at first cuz she doesn't get out much but once she Starts talking, its a bit hard to quiet her down. she loves disney and especially princesses, and constantly describes very weird dreams she has where she seems to see people she knows, but isnt quite sure how she does, knows various info on them that she wouldnt know, and can sometimes talk about "different worlds". but it's all made up from an overactive imagination. thats what her dad says anyway
the full context version: if you knew beth before, you might know her in her mainverse (Riverview), as a powerful teen ghost demon princess. this is Not her. you might know her from a very short time in trufflu. also not her. if you know the discord-only (sometimes shared in google docs and illustrations) beach au, this is her. kind of. it's based off that version. for a refresher, in that au, beth is the rich and spoiled but very kind, generous, and loving (think like charlotte in princess and the frog) daughter of paradise pier resort's owner, orlando collins and famous musician neva collins. every summer, she would live at the resort in her family's special penthouse. ever since her dad had the place built and opened, they would go, and there was a very mysterious energy around the place. in this universe, beth had very strange psychic powers that was a secret between her and her parents, and claims she could connect with different timelines/realities. orlando collins, her father, is actually a once-ler trying to hide it in order to escape the "downfall" legacy and pass it on to his daughter instead. he's jokingly called disney-ler by my friends lol. collins is 100% aware of the very weird things happening with his daughter and the resort and tries to use it to his advantage along with audio hypnosis technology he developed.
why does all this info matter? this is the basic background to get the context on this weehawken version. this is a VARIATION of it (its not exactly that beach au universe, since theres extremely minor canon differences, but based on it). for the actual camp context, this version of beth is visiting the camp because, as i said, her parents are busy. her mom is starting to rise in her music career, her dad has Just purchased the area to build paradise pier resort after the success of other resorts and tourist locations, so neither really have time for her. i say this isn't Exactly the same beach canon because i wanted beth to have grown up at the resort, but for the sake of having her Not be a baby at camp, i changed this lore a little. lol. so this version of beth is Semi aware she might have powers, but doesn't really think they're "powers" and more "doesn't everybody do this? oops". ok, i think thats all the important context?? bonus fact, her shoes are those light-up sneakers that blink when she walks

oc lore dump continues: beth edition ft. steve harrington
today, we are talking about beth’s bedroom:
Tumblr media
this is the teen dream bedroom, complete with her own pastel pink princess phone line bc duh
i’m thinking lots of purples, whites, even reds. I’m thinking cindy mancini’s room from cant buy me love (see above), but with andie’s bay window from pretty in pink, and a four poster bed a la chris in adventures in babysitting
Tumblr media
its 1985 and beth has this poster up in her bedroom—right between one’s of johnny depp, steve perry, and like 20 of michael j fox, mind you—and it caused a fight between her and steve. as seen in s1 especially, steve's insecurities often play out in the form of jealousy and rash conclusions that interfere with his relationships. so, after overhearing two girls comparing billy hargrove to the guy from st. elmo's fire, he never wanted to see that stupid thing again.
but one thing about beth is she's not gonna let him feed into that side of himself because it's only a poster of freaking rob lowe, not a polaroid of billy hargrove some guy she met at the hawk. and it's because she understands the real reason he doesn't like it ("hey beth? who's that" ' rob... you mean rob lowe?” “does that earring look familiar?" etc) that she ends up taking it down, folding it in half, and stuffing it into her whiny boyfriend's fist. she'd never admit it, but beth thought it was kinda cute that steve was jealous. besides, she'd always been more into back to the future than the outsiders, anyways
bonus headcanon: it is soon replaced by polaroids and photo booth strips of her and steve
bc steve harrington?? OH BOY i just know he loves the fuck outta a photo booth and he will blow a concerning amount of cash on it because he can’t stop making out with beth long enough to get the normal picture he wants. that’s just what he says, anyways

I absolutely adore Spirit and the kiddos, so I have a few questions about them if you don't mind! What does Spirit eat? Does Spirit communicate with Yellow through spoken words, or is it restricted to feelings and emotions? Can Spirit communicate with Beth even though she wasn't the first one to make contact with him? If given the chance, what do they all do for fun? And has there ever been a situation where Spirit had to save the girls from some otherworldly creature? Is he very protective?
Tumblr media
Thank you for loving my kids! Okay first things first lemme answer your questions, Spirit doesn’t actually n e e d to eat but he can if he wants, the dimension that homes him and other spirits has foods similar to the earth dimesion so that what the girls eat too but these are just his favourites
Tumblr media
Spirit communicates with Yellow through words but they can’t be understood as well through humans so his words sound like bells to Beth for some reason (I’ll also reveal a bit about yellow soon)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yellow really isn’t a fun gal she’s more like if you have fun your more likely to end up dead, so Beth and Spirit sneak away sometimes to do fun things which is a bit hard because Spirit is secluded to a part of the forest they live because (stuff I’ll show later)
Tumblr media
Spirit is actually super chill and Yellow is more of the protective one, but when the girls are up against something they can’t handle Spirit... changes

hi raven !! do u have any moots who are people u looked up to before u became moots with them? just curious :-)
Hmmmm... 🤔 A good question!
When I first started out writing, my two inspirations were twstpasta (Mac) and panacea-wishes (Lily). Mac had a very clean and simple interface and a whimsical way of writing, whereas Lily edited together her own banners and focused more on pretty descriptions... I wanted my writing blog to have its own unique flavor like Mac's and Lily's did!
You'll notice that I wrote the last paragraph in past tense, and that's because both of those writers have since terminated their respective blogs and moved elsewhere💦 but to this day, I still really love them and the work that they do! If you’re interested in continuing to follow them too, you can find Mac at @mcdonaldsnumberone and Lily at @fairlyabookie. However, please note that they no longer take writing requests; they only write what and when they wish to.
Another predominantly text-based blog I enjoyed (and still enjoy!) reading is @pianostarinwonderland. It's mainly a dumping ground for TWST thoughts and theories, which I do also sometimes share on my own blog. It's a place I go to when I need to get my brain juices flowing, and sometimes the things they point out make me develop more of an appreciation for the details of TWST! (I also used to be an Azul stan, so I'd run to a fellow Azul stan to feel validated in my screaming, ahah~)
Back around the start of my TWST journey, I mainly relied on @kibadreams and jmee for story translations and rough summaries, respectively. Kibadreams does their best to retain the original “voice” of every character when they translate, and they’re very open about the potential translating mistakes they may have made and they’re striving to improve! Jmee really goes in on the details and the deeper meaning behind character relationships and TWST lore. I really appreciate the work that they have done for the community!
Special shoutout to @mysteryshoptls, whom I first got to know as a friend before they initially set up their translation blog. They’re a great source for vignettes and character lines; their translations really retain the spirit of the original characters in Japanese.
There are also a lot of artists in the TWST fandom that I admire! Seeing their posts always puts a smile on my face, and it inspires me to work hard at my own things too. I especially like seeing their own OCs and takes on certain scenes and characters from the game. It gives me confidence to share my own original works~
@4nimenut (They use very delicate brushstrokes that remind me of watercolors or traditional Chinese paintings! The lighting in their pieces is also very atmospheric~)
@airin-queenz (A very bright and cheery art style! The colors and the shading really pop out.)
@beth-lau (I love how they draw expressions! The arrangement and details... they really bring out the emotions that every character is feeling.)
@k0ushii (Their sketchy art style and color choice is very soft and easy on the eyes! They've also done gijinkas for Cookie Run and FNAF characters, which I absolutely adore the designs for!)
@lolitsleia (I love how dumb their OC Alex and Ace are together! lolitsleia really does a bit of everything, from nice fully rendered pieces to funny little sketches and comics of the characters interacting with each other!)
@myuunji (Their Yuu is really adorable and clumsy! It's lots of fun keeping up their shenanigans in the little doodles and comics they make.)
@pearlwhitecats (Their love for Silver is really pure! I can feel it come off in every Nahime x Silver work they make. I'm also a fan of their cutiepie OC Neviah~)
@renniecirque (Ren has a really unique art style! It almost looks like traditional art instead of digital because of how soft the colors and the line art is. It gives me cottagecore vibes! Very soothing to look at~)
@shimmeryspark (Kana's art is both cute and detailed! While their fully rendered pieces are a treat, I also really like their chibis--they look so round and squishy, I just want to pinch them with my fingers! Their shrimp-based OCs and Kana (the Yuusona) with Floyd and Ruggie are also adorable and pure~)
@stupidneko (I like how big and expressive their eyes are! I also really love the little details they add to accentuate various pieces, like tiny sparkles or little tuffs of cotton.)
@suiiseis (We share a mutual appreciation and intense brain rot for J word I like how dainty their style is, from the lithe forms of their characters to the way they draw eyes and hair!)
@teuffels (Their vibrant, bouncy colors really bring pieces to life! They also get really experimental with poses and compositions, which always keeps you guessing. Plus, their love for Lilia and Xiao is just so wholesome and endearing!)
@tinyfantasminha (I adore their OC Vic's sass and their breakdowns over Jack Howl! They're very talented with drawing poses and coloring in a way that mimics the TWST style!)
@yttrocen (An artist with a very soft and pastel color palette, mainly doing comics and doodles. If I'm not mistaken, they mainly do Tweels, which I can appreciate~)
@zariyen (Yuu Yumehara my beloved he's so cool and hot and-- I'm a huge fan of zari's work on alternate outfits for Pomefiore! Everything they do is really gorgeously detailed; I could stare at their pieces forever and ever!)
It feels like a really big honor when someone you look up to follows you back! It's like one of those "wow, senpai noticed me" moments you see sometimes in anime or manga. Of course, I'm not super close to everyone that I listed in this post, and I’ve also met a lot of amazing people and made friends that I didn’t include here (since they didn’t quite fit the parameters of the ask)!!
Please consider checking out their socials and supporting them!! Let’s keep exploring this twisted wonderland together 🎵

Meet the De La Vegas! Eventually I'm going to redo Sascha's bio (along with Adrenaline and Bai) but for now, she's dumping her whole family on me and I just wanted to give some details about each of them.
First off, for those who did not get to know Sascha through her original bio, she's coded as Black and Filipino (same goes for her twin brother). Her father is Trinidadian-coded and her mother's side is Flipino-coded. Before Sascha's family immigrated to Vesuvia, they came from a city located northwest of Nopal, close to the Emerald Sea. I pretty much hc this place (for which I have no name yet) to be heavily inspired by the Philippines. Sascha's family does speak Fantasy-Tagalog. While I do have some exposure to Filipino culture, please don't hesitate to dm me if something doesn't add up in how the characters are being portrayed. (Same goes for Sun Bai, who is coded Chinese-Vietnamese and Adrenaline, who is Afro-Brazilian.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Full name: Sascha Honore de la Vega (She will sometimes go by Sascha Vega just for convenience sake)
Age: 32
Orientation/Pronouns: Aromantic Asexual (she/her)
Occupation: Wedding Planner (1st) Oculist (2nd) Gunslinger Pirate (3rd)
Zodiac: Libra Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Taurus Rising
Minor Arcana: Page of Wands (Upright: Exploration, Excitement, Freedom / Reversed: Lack of Direction, Negativity, Feeling Caged)
Here we have Sascha before and after she leaves the family business to become an oculist. Her mother (Floribeth) has strict rules about presentation and dress code when it comes to her employees. Rule one: They must be a De La Vega either by marriage or by blood. Rule two: When coming before a client, attire must be elegant and any jewerly should be modest (For example, all the women in the family are required to wear a simple string of pearls). As you can imagine, Sascha did a bit of rebelling with her blue hair. If Solomon (Sascha's twin brother) hadn't done the same, Floribeth would never have let it slide.
More family members and lore beneath the cut!
Tumblr media
Full name: Solomon Honore de la Vega (goes by "Solo")
Age: 32
Orientation/Pronouns: Genderqueer Pansexual (he/him most of the time, but Solo is fine with any pronouns / gendered language. He often uses "she" or "they" when he's sewing together dresses, helping clients try them on, or trying them on themself!)
Occupation: Dress and garment maker, assistant decoration coordinator
Zodiac: Virgo Sun, Sagittarius Moon, Taurus Rising
Minor Arcana: Queen of Pentacles (Upright: Practicality, Creature Comforts, Financial Security / Reversed: Work Life Imbalance, Feeling Smothered)
Meet Solo! He's the head seamstress/seamster (ok with either) at Vega Bridal & Events. He's got charmer magic that is sort of hard to define, but how it basically works - Solo weaves his enchantments into the wedding garments and decorations he makes. It helps ease the customers into becoming comfortable with going over their budgets. It also creates a sense of dreamy euphoria whenever a customer puts on their dress or similar wedding attire.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sascha and Solo's parents! On the left, we have Floribeth de la Vega (65). On the right is Stefan Honore (57).
Floribeth is the head of her own wedding planning company, Vega Bridal & Events. Stefan used to be a gondolier, but he left Vesuvia with a funky pirate crew shortly after the plague hit. Sascha and Solo were about six years old at the time. They have fond memories of their father and since it was no secret that he was a rolling stone, they don't hold much of a grudge against him for disappearing (since he wasn't around that much in the first place). Floribeth, however, hates Stefan with a passion and curses his name whenever she can. She's not proud of the traits her children have interited from him, such as Sascha's rebellious spirit and overall "tacky-ness" as Beth likes to put it. And Solo's charmer magic, which he inherited directly from Stefan. Beth keeps a tight leash on when Solo can use his magic. She believes it's only necessary to advance the family business. There are drawbacks to limiting Solo's magic use, but I'm saving that lore for later fics!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Meet Jaslene and April de la Vega! They are WIVES.
Jaslene (age 39) is Floribeth's youngest first cousin on her mother's side. Jaslene works as Beth's close assistant. She's also the unofficial fire extinguisher for Beth and Sascha's heated arguments. April (age 44) has been in the family for so long, she feels completely comfortable around them and has even picked up some of the language spoken in the home. April manages the floral arrangements and musical entertainment. She works closely with Solo. Jazz and April's responsibilites keep them from seeing each other most of the day, but when they are finally able to reunite, all their business-professional facade fades away and they just become stinking cute together. Sascha often uses her cousin's place as a reprieve from her mother (whose house she still lives in before she becomes an oculist). Without the support of Jazz, April, and her brother Solo, Sascha would have definitely throttled Beth in her sleep by now.

Sometimes I think about how much Will Roland’s mom loves Billions solely because her son is in it and she’s proud of him
naturally immediately reminds me of this iconic wynnstannery occasion in late 2019 where we knew billions s5 production had begun but there were no signs will was filming as winston and so we were getting increasingly concerned about the potential to write the character out between seasons if they felt like it, until in december ms beth roland was in line for the joe iconis xmas extravaganza ft. your son will roland as this year's xmas antagonist cyril von miserthorpe, and she struck up a conversation with a fan also in line and because she was hype she shared the information that will had signed on for 7 episodes already (aka all the episodes in that first round of production, little did we know) and essentially the fan passed that information along to us, which was a delight and a relief
and more generally yeah truly classic energy that his parents are Out Here being that hyped and notably proud about everything and you inevitably run into this whether through secondhand reference to it or seeing it manifesting in a virtual space or live and in person b/c you're standing in line with his mom.....there's will in one interview like "my parents are incredibly supportive...i could go onto the stage, i could take a dump, and they would just...just never stop clapping" and in another about how his mom's definitely going to be watching it later (although seems she might've been watching it live) and how when the bmc cast got the bway run news he first got in the crying bathtub to call his mom and gave that answer abt What Are You Most Looking Forward To re: the bway run like "i'm excited for my parents to see it" which was also a q&a wherein it's like yeah everyone knows his parents and they're supportive to everybody, just like they were Known at the music box theatre, go back to the never have i ever video with kristolyn like finishing the second half of a classic bill roland quote as she and will simultaneously do that impression of him lmao....the way that especially during the 2020 plethora of livestreamed virtual interviews and the like, you could occasionally find ms beth roland dropping in the livechat, or how just sometimes she'd appear in video comments, she was a big fan of the late Will Roland In Billions compilation video....the fact that when i dug around for some unproducible smackdown lore, i found this account from an attendee in 2012 or 2013 saying "i meet the parents and grandmother of upcoming actor will roland. they're very proud of will...they are all lovely people and will's father has the best laugh in the audience."
also naturally Handshake with her wherein, maybe unlike will's dad, we were not already watching billions when will showed up in it, but got into it b/c he did. the wynnstannery expertise she has....Would talk about my winston hc's with her, Would discuss themes, Would hype up her son's acting choices and the energy his performances have, only the number one appreciator who gave us the gift of "oh thank god he's not only going to be in season 5 at all and we don't have to wait for the trailer to drop after like another month and a half of anxiety to have this presence confirmed, but his being signed for At Least 7 out of the season's 12 episodes already equals the number of episode appearances he had in seasons 3 and 4 combined" like what a gift. also thanks for the entire thing since that's your son

OKAY THERES SOME STUFF TO UNPACK HERE
i will be theorizing below this so if you dont wanna see that, see ya around!
Tumblr media
ok so we know that shane madej is the "estranged producer" of puppet history, and doesnt seem to know what is happening on the show (especially lore wise). we know this becuase shane keeps joking "apperently there was alot of drama last season", alluding to the fact that he doesn't actually know everything that is happening lore wise.
im assuming that (within the puppet history universe [phu]) shane is there to coordinate and lead the team, and lets the professor run the show (kinda) on his own. theres also writers, the puppet guests (including god, the devil, and asmodeus), crew, beef boy, and the contestants. Also the puppet history set is seprate from watcher hq and the boonker.
ok now that thats out of the way,
i think what we're seeing here is what happens after the jig is up. there is no box, nothing is connected to the theater, so no holograms are being displayed. Something stopped either the hologram professor or whoever is controling or powering him. The most likely person to stop this charade is beef boy. He's clearly trying to connect the dots. Not only has he done research, he's hunting for the genie lamp, asking questions, testing the professor, and refusing to apply the puppet creme. It would also fit nicely into a redemption arc if ryan was able to save the professor and puppets, or was able to stop the person impersonating the professor.
The devil is in the theater, so i am assuming the devil is responsible for the holograms. (maybe asmodeus becuase theyre friends). Looking back at the s4 finale, the devil was the one in the theater at the end and gave ryan the coveted cup. since the devil was the last person in the theater in s4, maybe he decided to stay.
I think what is happening in this picture might be a meeting between the producer (shane) and the devil. Shane has a clipboard, almost like he's taking notes or filling out a form. At this point, it's been a whole season of this hologram professor and now shane has to deal with the devil, because what he thought was the professor isnt, and thats messing up the whole show, and... yeah, its a whole ass mess. imagine if you produced a whole season of a show, and now you have this whole devil thing to deal with. kinda sucks.
[one theory i think is fun is shane made a deal with the devil to set up the hologram. what else are you supposed to do when the star of your show is murdered in the season finale??]
[another theory is maybe shane is persuading or bardering with the devil to save the puppets souls. this feels unlikely, but i thought i might as well include it]
anyways, lets see whats in store for the last few episodes!! im excited!

CONFESSION - what’s your muse’s thoughts about religion?
In short? She despises religion.
This has several reasons, so first off I'll have to do some lore dump: the Chantry in Thedas rules over most aspects of life, and especially their handle on magic is questionable. Anyone with magic gets locked into a Circle against their will. The Chantry justifies this with the risk of becoming an Abomination — people are magic users by being able to access the Fade, which is the spirit world, and demons lurk there and see mages as their portal into the mortal world, where they can overtake a body and make it into an Abomination, in most cases effectively killing said mage and taking over, with only murder on the mind. Thus the Chantry locks them into the Circles where they are under constant supervision, and while they are allowed to learn some magic, the Templars are allowed to kill them at any given time, force them through a ritual in the Fade that might trigger this exact event, and otherwise, make them tranquil — severing their connection to the Fade, but the Fade is also responsible for dreams and emotions. It's a lobotomy, in short. Circles also do not govern themselves, and a mage in one is only allowed to leave in extremely specific circumstances, classically, to help in war, and hardly forever.
Magic runs in the blood. Mages that avoid Circles are apostates, and if found out, will either be killed or forced into a circle. Hawke's father was such an apostate, his wife running away with him to keep him safe, and as such, two of his three children inherited his magic, so their entire lives, they have been hiding from the Chantry as to save Bethany and Marian from these lives.
Blood magic is also seen as the gateway to inviting demons in and as such is entirely forbidden and punishable by death, but there are many blood mages who never fall to it — it all depends on your strength of will and the right balance. Hawke is a blood mage, herself.
Tensions, of course, were on the rise. Especially in Kirkwall; the Circle close to rebellion, and the Knight Commander of the Templars, Meredith, once someone to reason with, has been corrupted by a Red Lyrium Idol. (Lyrium is a highly dependent making drug that allows to access the Fade more easily; Red Lyrium is stained by darkspawn blood and as thus, creates madness in those around it for too long.) She becomes more and more aggressive and hunts down any apostates relentless, and bears down on the Circle merciless. In the end, it does trigger the rebellion — not last because last chances of peace are destroyed when Anders, Hawke's apostate boyfriend who had been an advocate for mage rights for years — blows up the local Chantry and forces her hand in this. There's also the threat of an Exiled March — basically a Crusade — against Kirkwall to stomp out the mage rebellion, which is why she flees from there in the end. Her name becomes a battle cry for oppressed mages all over the country. The Exiled March never comes.
Hawke has always connected religion tightly with all of that. She's aware there's more religions out there, and that not everyone thinks as such, but to her, religion is a tool of oppression and fear. She cannot take it serious in a good way; it's either triggering her anger and grief or she will have to make fun of it to deal with all the bloodshed coming from it.
Obviously, modern things run differently, but her opinion doesn't really change much. Instead of the magic, it was always talk of conversion therapy and how they are wrong and dooming their family to hell. It was teachers bearing down on Bethany and herself, it was family members spewing hatred and violence. It's having to hide who she is for the majority of her life, and it's losing her sister without Beth ever being able to express herself. She has a lot of resentment towards any kind of religious institution, and has a very hard time seperating actual religion itself from it. To her, it's just a disguise for hatred.

Rick and Morty needs to find new lore to explore.
Don't get me wrong: "Rickternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mort" was complex, artistic, and hypothetically full of pathos.
But there was some kind of stale feeling behind this lore dump that would have been more at home in six years ago in Season 2 than Season 5. It's kind of like how the Marvel Cinematic Universe makes prequels. Writers and audiences change. It's really difficult to channel your own writing style and motivations from six years ago and make it feel relevant now. I'm not going to outright say the writers didn't pull it off, because a lot of people loved this episode. It just didn't get me hyped.
Season 5 was many things: turkey people, sperm monsters, a little bit of pasta with some anime combined, but undeniably it just does not contextually tie into that sweet spot of hype between Season 2 and Season 3. (Which, again, was six years ago.) "The Wedding Squanchers" and the "The Rickshank Redemption" played off lots of little references and questions raised throughout the standalone episodes in Season 1 and 2. Season 4 and 5 just don't do this, and they don't go through the trouble of establishing their own arcs and Season finales. They just continue the same plot thread.
If Rick didn't have Bird Person chained in his lab for plot reasons, it feels like the show would have moved past him. Just look at how much Rick himself has changed in Season 5. Instead of letting something new grow from that, Rick - and the show - Frankenstein'd Bird Person back together, and teased his daughter for the next adventure in the saga.
The show needs to explore new lore. Looking forward to clone Beth coming back.

have some mindless rambling about something i thought about while grinding for ascension materials.
so you know how the anemo hypostasis has the code name “beth”? my brain, numbed from the grinding ive been doing for ages, goes “haha that sounds like a human name. who named the murder cube? and why beth? haha.” and i thought;
“hey, what if ol’ beth here used to be human?”
(might mention spoilers so ill dump the rest utc.)
reading this back after writing it makes me sound completely fuckin batshit but ill post it anyway because it makes me want to write
imo it would work much better as an au (since my knowledge of genshin lore is limited due to quarantine dealing a massive hit to my comprehension skills) but..
..hear me out;
we’ve seen childe’s final transformation in his fight. it looks pretty monsterous to me. it’s caused by his delusion, so what if it was a result of a delusion malfunction?
from the manga we know delusions have the tendency to backfire on the user if they don’t have a vision- if i remember correctly, that’s how diluc’s father, crepus, died. he didn’t turn into a monster (let alone a murder cube) but i don’t remember him doing anything similar to what childe did in terms of transformation. and speaking of childe- even though he has a vision, he states in the post-fight cutscene that the transformation dealio was physically taxing for him.
so, what i’m proposing (either as a theory or as an au or headcanon) is:
“beth” used to be a human and a delusion user- specifically an anemo delusion.
once they were unlucky enough to have their delusion malfunction during a transformation akin to childe’s (that is, assuming something like that isn’t exclusive to the harbingers)
this turned them into the anemo hypostasis, and if we want to go darker, killed “beth” themself but left their physical form to remain as the hypostasis for the rest of time.

NEW- [Past teaching- verses below] Solomon dedicates the temple- and brings the ark of the covenant and the tabernacle [of Moses] together. This is the first time the ark of the covenant and the Tabernacle of Moses were reunited since the days of David. When David retrieved the ark that was stolen many years before- he set it up at Zion- a hill in Jerusalem. The ark being open under the tent of David was a type of grace- because the tabernacle of Moses- which represented law/Jew- was still standing in a place called Gibeon. But David had the ark set up in an open tent- which was a violation of the law concerning the ark [The ark was a box that held the 10 commandments- not talking about Noah’s ark]. But David was a type of Christ- like Solomon. So God permitted the ark to be open- because it was a symbol of the future coming of Jesus- who thru the Cross would give access to God apart from the law. When Solomon brings the ark and the tabernacle of Moses together for the first time in many years- It also pictures the new covenant- because the bible tells us that in Jesus there is one new man- both Jew and Gentile are reconciled thru the Cross- Ephesians 2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations And that’s what Solomon pictured here- by bringing the ark and the tabernacle of Moses together again- showing that both Jew [represented by the tabernacle of Moses] and Gentile [represented by the tabernacle of David] are now reconciled in the temple- which is a picture of the Body of Christ- Jew and Gentile.

1ST KINGS 8- This chapter shows the coming together of the Ark and Temple at Jerusalem. Solomon makes a great dedication to the Lord. He acknowledges the reality that God does not ‘dwell in temples made with hands’ but he asks the Lord to show preference to the temple and the prayers of the people. We really have a tremendous picture of Gods kingdom and rule thru these images. The temple centers the people on the reality of God dwelling in their midst. They worship him from Jerusalem and their king honors the father and leads the people in community wide intercession. There are even provisions made for ‘strangers’ who will become influenced by God’s reality, they will hear about Gods great story with his people [narrative!]. They will then come and also make intercession to him. I find it interesting that in the book of Acts [and 1st century church history] we read about the pagan converts to Judaism, the ‘God fearers’. Israel always maintained this aspect of their culture with God, they left the door open for converts. I also find it interesting that converts came! After all, the Jews did not practice a type of ‘soul winning’ that actively sought proselytes. It was simply the reality of God working with his people that drew others in. These last few years much has been said/written on the church and her mission. Is the gospel too small or too big? Sometimes in our efforts to ‘go deep’ we make it difficult for new converts to come into the church. In all of our efforts to present a gospel that affects society as a whole, the social aspects of our calling. The greater kingdom vision of Jesus as seen in ‘the gospels’ we also want to make sure that the simple initiation of new converts is made plain and easy to understand [in essence we need the Gospels AND the epistles both. A kingdom message is not complete without the reality of Atonement!] Solomon makes a great speech/prayer in this chapter, he worships God for standing true to his promise that he made to David his father. The people hold a seven day city wide celebration and go back to their homes. Even though the temple and it’s structure were not in Gods original plan [go read about David and Nathan] yet God will honor and use this limited system for a season. In the present day reformation of the church and her structures, we always need to keep in mind that we are still dealing with the people of God. Many of them worship God in ‘limited structures’ but yet they still worship God! So as we reform and grow in the coming decades, we also want to leave room for the prayer of Solomon ‘I know you cant be limited to a structure like a temple, but please honor the prayers and simple sacrifices of your people. They are doing it out of dedication to you’ [my paraphrase].
Here are my past teahcings about the ark which I taught on today’s post- SAMUEL 6- The Philistines are reeling under the judgment of God. They call a meeting of their priests and diviners, and they ask what they should do. Their ‘religious’ leaders advise them to send the Ark back to Israel and make an offering. They were to make gold images of their judgments, rats and tumors, and place them in a box with the Ark and send it on a cart being pulled by two cows. They would take the cows calves and bring them home, but place the cows and cart on a road to Beth Shemesh. If the cows go down the road, they took it as a sign from God. Sure enough the cows take the Ark to Beth Shemesh and dump the cart in a field belonging to Joshua. Israel rejoices that the Ark is back and sacrifices the cattle with the wood from the cart. Their joy is short lived. They peek in the Ark and are destroyed. They removed the ‘Mercy seat’ [see last chapter-#888]. Over fifty thousand men from Beth Shemesh are killed. They decide to send it to the men of Kirjath Jearim. Over the years I have seen this story used in various ways to justify different ‘ways of doing church’. Some taught how God judged Israel because they didn’t follow the prescribed methods of Ark handling. We will see this happen with David and his men later on. Then the teacher would relate how important it is for us to follow Gods prescribed method, but then teach ‘Gods method’ is their various slant on how ‘we should do church’. I see some good stuff from this story, but I don’t see it in that light. The Philistines were advised by their own pagan priests ‘don’t harden your hearts like Pharaoh’. The story of Gods miraculous intervention in Egypt became lore of the day. All the surrounding nations knew that you don’t mess with the God of Israel. God didn’t destroy the men of Beth Shemesh because they didn’t fully follow prescribed law [though later on this will be part of the problem with David’s men] but they died because they took themselves out from under the covering of Gods mercy as represented in the Mercy seat [the lid on the Ark]. A few years back a famous believer, Reggie White [former football pro.] was known for his Christian faith. He was later influenced by Muslim teaching and made the statement ‘I am going directly to God, without a ‘go between’ [meaning Christ]’. He obviously was influenced by Muslim teaching and was coming out from the ‘covering of Christ’ [mercy seat]. Sadly, Reggie tragically died not too long after this from a sickness. He died in the prime of his life. I do not want to judge Reggie. I simply want to show you the danger of sinful men [all of us!] trying to approach a Holy God without the ‘mercy seat’ [Cross]. The men of Beth Shemesh removed the covering, and they suffered for it.
(890)SAMUEL 7- The Ark arrives at Abinadab’s house in Kirjath Jearim, it will remain there until David retrieves it [it was there for around 100 years in total-1100 BC- 1004 BC]. Samuel calls the people to repentance and makes intercession for them at the same time. This leads to great victory over the enemy. Jesus ‘lives forever to make continual intercession for us’. We need to combine repentance and dependence upon Christ’s mediation in order to gain victory. This chapter also has the famous name ‘Ebenezer’ that makes it into the history of the church. Both songs and churches will use it in their names. Martin Luther King preached at Ebenezer Baptist church. This stone was simply a rock of remembrance for the victory of God. It spoke of Gods help for man. Jesus is the ultimate ‘stone/rock of defense’ for man. Scripture says ‘there is no rock like the Lord’ ‘Jesus is the precious stone, all who believe will be delivered’. The imagery of Jesus/God as a rock of defense is all throughout scripture. We see Samuel as the key leader of Israel and scripture says he judged them at this time. He lived in Ramah and ‘rode a circuit’ between the various cities on a rotating basis. He was the first ‘circuit rider’! The circuit riders were the famous American evangelists during the 19th century. As the Puritan east coast churches were becoming well established in the original colonies, there was a need to reach out to the West [and south] with the gospel. The circuit riders were the evangelists who traveled to various areas preaching the gospel and establishing churches [The great Methodist Frances Asbury became famous for his circuit riding and church planting]. During this time you had the famous ‘camp meetings’ where many believers from all over would gather at these outdoor ‘brush arbors’ and hear the gospel preached and commit their lives to the Lord. Over time the more staid Reformed churches of the east coast would view the ‘camp meeting’ brothers as a little ‘un hinged’. You would also have some of the ‘Spirit led’ groups condemn the old time reformed brothers as ‘unconverted’. There was a tendency to lean towards one side or the other. The various Quaker [shaker] type groups would emphasize the Spirit being premiere in all Christian understanding. While this is of course true, this in no way means believers do not learn thru the normal means of study and reading. Some of the more ‘Spirit minded’ believers would come to view the more ‘head knowledge’ brothers as ‘unconverted’. One of the worst cases was the Ann Hutchison controversy. She was a believer who began teaching under the ‘Spirits guidance’ and would give the impression that the more refined ministers were not of God. She would ultimately pay with her life for her beliefs. NOTE- The terminology of ‘New lights’ versus ‘Old lights’ was often used to describe the different emphasis between these 2 camps. There was a brother by the name of Davenport who would travel around and accuse all of the old time preachers as being unconverted. While it is possible for a minister to have never truly made a strong commitment to Christ, to paint them all with this broad brush was very unbalanced. )2ND SAMUEL 6- David attempts to retrieve the Ark and bring it to the new capital city of Jerusalem. On the way back one of the brothers tries to steady the ark as it was about to fall. They were carrying it on a ‘new cart’ with oxen pulling it. This was not the way the law prescribed carrying it! This was the formula that the Philistines used earlier. So David’s man touches the Ark and is killed. They leave it at another brother’s house for three months and the brother is blessed, David goes and retrieves it. This chapter doesn’t say what changed, but obviously David went back to the law and used the prescribed manner this time around. As he enters Jerusalem with it there is this joyous picture of everyone leaping and dancing and praising the Lord. Sort of like the triumphal entry of Jesus [Gods ‘fleshly’ ark, who had all the fullness of God dwelling in his physical body!] to Jerusalem when the people shouted ‘Hosanna’. David places the ark in a tent/tabernacle that he personally made for it. I wrote earlier how this was an open tent that had no barriers between the ark and Gods people, a contrast between Moses tabernacle where God and the people were separated [law versus grace type thing]. David’s wife mocks him because he took off his royal robes and wore an ephod [priestly garment] and danced and humbled himself before the Lord. David says ‘I will even be more lowly than this’. His wife is barren for the rest of her life as a judgment for mocking David. What ever happened to the ark? Well let me give you some history. The ‘story’ [tradition] says that when the queen of Ethiopia visits Solomon to see his wealth, that eventually he ‘marries’ her and they have kids. The queen goes back to Ethiopia and supposedly takes the ark from Solomon as a gift. The Ethiopian orthodox church claims to have it in the main ‘church’ in Ethiopia. Because of this history all the Ethiopian churches have replicas of the ark in their buildings as well. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church is one of rich tradition. They are technically not considered ‘Catholic’ [western] or ‘Orthodox’ [eastern]. They are part of the church who are sometimes referred to as Oriental. This referring to the historic churches [not necessarily Oriental in geography] who never accepted the traditional churches belief in certain expressions of the Trinity and the relationship between Jesus and God. They stuck with the Arian view of Jesus deity and are not considered ‘orthodox’ in this area. As the centuries developed and various barbarians who were raiding the empire were converted, they also believed in a Christianity that would be more aligned with this type of belief. Now, I know Christians do not consider this to be correct doctrine, but I am simply sharing the history with you. I am not siding with their belief! We really have no idea where the ark is today, to be honest it doesn’t matter. We ‘see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the purpose of dying, and he was raised again for us’! [Hebrews]. We have the real McCoy!

1Samuel 6:1 And the ark of the LORD was in the country of the Philistines seven months. 1Samuel 6:2 And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the LORD? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place. 1Samuel 6:3 And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you. 1Samuel 6:4 Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords. 1Samuel 6:5 Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land. 1Samuel 6:6 Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed? 1Samuel 6:7 Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them: 1Samuel 6:8 And take the ark of the LORD, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go. 1Samuel 6:9 And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Bethshemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us: it was a chance that happened to us. 1Samuel 6:10 And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home: 1Samuel 6:11 And they laid the ark of the LORD upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods. 1Samuel 6:12 And the kine took the straight way to the way of Bethshemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Bethshemesh. 1Samuel 6:13 And they of Bethshemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it. 1Samuel 6:14 And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Bethshemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the LORD. 1Samuel 6:15 And the Levites took down the ark of the LORD, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Bethshemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the LORD. 1Samuel 6:16 And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day. 1Samuel 6:17 And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the LORD; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one; 1Samuel 6:18 And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the LORD: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Bethshemite. 1Samuel 6:19 And he smote the men of Bethshemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter. 1Samuel 6:20 And the men of Bethshemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us? 1Samuel 6:21 And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjathjearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
1Samuel 7:1 And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD. 1Samuel 7:2 And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.
2Samuel 6:1 Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand. 2Samuel 6:2 And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims. 2Samuel 6:3 And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah: and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart. 2Samuel 6:4 And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God: and Ahio went before the ark. 2Samuel 6:5 And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals. 2Samuel 6:6 And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 2Samuel 6:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. 2Samuel 6:8 And David was displeased, because the LORD had made a breach upon Uzzah: and he called the name of the place Perezuzzah to this day. 2Samuel 6:9 And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me? 2Samuel 6:10 So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite. 2Samuel 6:11 And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obededom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obededom, and all his household. 2Samuel 6:12 And it was told king David, saying, The LORD hath blessed the house of Obededom, and all that pertaineth unto him, because of the ark of God. So David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obededom into the city of David with gladness. 2Samuel 6:13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings. 2Samuel 6:14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod. 2Samuel 6:15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet. 2Samuel 6:16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul’s daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart. 2Samuel 6:17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD. 2Samuel 6:18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts. 2Samuel 6:19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house. 2Samuel 6:20 Then David returned to bless his household. And Michal the daughter of Saul came out to meet David, and said, How glorious was the king of Israel to day, who uncovered himself to day in the eyes of the handmaids of his servants, as one of the vain fellows shamelessly uncovereth himself! 2Samuel 6:21 And David said unto Michal, It was before the LORD, which chose me before thy father, and before all his house, to appoint me ruler over the people of the LORD, over Israel: therefore will I play before the LORD. 2Samuel 6:22 And I will yet be more vile than thus, and will be base in mine own sight: and of the maidservants which thou hast spoken of, of them shall I be had in honour. 2Samuel 6:23 Therefore Michal the daughter of Saul had no child unto the day of her death. 1Kings 8:1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the LORD out of the city of David, which is Zion. 1Kings 8:2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month. 1Kings 8:3 And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark. 1Kings 8:4 And they brought up the ark of the LORD, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up. 1Kings 8:5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude. 1Kings 8:6 And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the LORD unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims. 1Kings 8:7 For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above. 1Kings 8:8 And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day. 1Kings 8:9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the LORD made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt. 1Kings 8:10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD, 1Kings 8:11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the LORD had filled the house of the LORD. 1Kings 8:12 Then spake Solomon, The LORD said that he would dwell in the thick darkness. 1Kings 8:13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever. 1Kings 8:14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;) 1Kings 8:15 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying, 1Kings 8:16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel. 1Kings 8:17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 1Kings 8:18 And the LORD said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart. 1Kings 8:19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name. 1Kings 8:20 And the LORD hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and have built an house for the name of the LORD God of Israel. 1Kings 8:21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt. 1Kings 8:22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven: 1Kings 8:23 And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart: 1Kings 8:24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day. 1Kings 8:25 Therefore now, LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me. 1Kings 8:26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father. 1Kings 8:27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded? 1Kings 8:28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day: 1Kings 8:29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place. 1Kings 8:30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive. 1Kings 8:31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house: 1Kings 8:32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness. 1Kings 8:33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house: 1Kings 8:34 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers. 1Kings 8:35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them: 1Kings 8:36 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance. 1Kings 8:37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be; 1Kings 8:38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house: 1Kings 8:39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;) 1Kings 8:40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers. 1Kings 8:41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake; 1Kings 8:42 (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house; 1Kings 8:43 Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name. 1Kings 8:44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the LORD toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name: 1Kings 8:45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause. 1Kings 8:46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near; 1Kings 8:47 Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness; 1Kings 8:48 And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name: 1Kings 8:49 Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause, 1Kings 8:50 And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them: 1Kings 8:51 For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron: 1Kings 8:52 That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee. 1Kings 8:53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O LORD God. 1Kings 8:54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven. 1Kings 8:55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying, 1Kings 8:56 Blessed be the LORD, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant. 1Kings 8:57 The LORD our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us: 1Kings 8:58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers. 1Kings 8:59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the LORD, be nigh unto the LORD our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require: 1Kings 8:60 That all the people of the earth may know that the LORD is God, and that there is none else. 1Kings 8:61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the LORD our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day. 1Kings 8:62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the LORD. 1Kings 8:63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the LORD, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the LORD. 1Kings 8:64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the LORD: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the LORD was too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings. 1Kings 8:65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the LORD our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days. 1Kings 8:66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people. Matthew 27:51 And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations
