Are we? or Aren’t we?
Tumblr media
Good Evening Tumblrverse!
The BiasRekkers are back online - sort of.
First of all, we want to thank everyone for showing us love in likes, reblogs, crazy tag spazzes, and following us even while we crumbled backstage.
There are things that we, as best friends, collectively attack and it’s been rough. 2020 wasn’t kind to any of us - but you’ve all made it this far!
We have all made it to 2021. Be proud. Regardless of set backs, low seasons, emotions, or failures - we fucking made it.
Happy New Year, let’s get it! With that being said?
Here’s what’s in store for the BiasRekkers blog!
Series:
Make It Right - Admin E has posted the next chapter installment to the BTS Mafia!Au Make It Right. The current chapter is 52 and the story will continue to be posted until its entirety. This story has actually been completed for its writing last year. Please make sure to read the author notes and trigger warnings from this point forward. We’re moving to the darker, more dangerous, and gut clenching moments of this saga.  Remember, feel free to scream at Admin E in the tags or replies. She likes it when you scream about your feelings.
The current running series for this blog for the time being will be Make It Right. This gives us a chance to further evaluate the current upcoming chapters for other stories that have started or will be posted.
Our little blog is 1 year old and we’d like to finish it with the first major series started!
Drabbles, One-shots, and Off-Shoots, Oh my!:
While Make It Right is running toward the finish, we will start uploading requested drabbles, seasonal one-shots and minis that were written but not posted. This includes the requests for the 500 Follower Special!
Again, please bear with us as we get caught up, back on track, and in the groove.
To everyone that has tagged us in anything? We see you! We’ll get to responding to those as well.
So, that’s it! We’re cleaning up, restocking the shelves, and trying to balance the books.
To the followers new and old, welcome!
We look forward to causing you emotional distress in the future.

10:05 pm
They always sat in relative silence at dinner time. When was the last time they really sat to dinner? Taehyung pushed food across his plate idly. April made dutiful cuts into a piece of meat. “Taehyung, you’re not eating.” She barely spared him a glance as the fork disappeared between her teeth.
“How come I don’t remember the scars on my back?” He asked quietly. There was no need to lift his head. He heard the scrape of a knife across the porcelain. The sound of her chewing was suddenly thunderous in that silence.
“Whatever do you mean, Taehyung?” April’s brow rose as she continued with her routine. The routine of eating. The routine of being his Wife. The routine of keeping...s e c r e t s. “You told me it was something that happened as a child. We’re so busy these days, I’m sure it slipped your mind.” Her voice never wavered. He knew she believed that to be true.
Or maybe she wanted him to believe that she believed it to be true.
“See, that’s just the thing, April..” He placed his utensil down quietly. “I don’t remember a lot from my childhood. Don’t you find that strange?” The molten brown of his eyes lifted to the woman across from him. Because in the last week, he realized he didn’t know just who the hell April really was.
She placed the last bite of food in her mouth. A napkin dabbing at the corners, hopefully hiding the irritation in her frown. “Taehyung.” She sounded like a mother chastising a young child. “A lot of things were forgotten when The Unification happened. Not all of us came out the same or mentally intact.” Her hands clasped over her lap as she sighed. “This is what happens when we stray from our routine. It’s a butterfly effect, Taehyung. That one late morning has spiraled into …” A hand waved as she tried to put into words his paranoia. “..this. I think you should get a check-up. We’ll make sure everything is ok, perhaps adjust your vitamins. Maybe lay off the caffeine, I’m sure you’ll be back to your usual self soon.”
April pushed away from the table, grabbing her plate. “For now, I think you should ease up on your workload. I know this year’s matching protocols are different - I believe it’s taking its toll.” Taehyung narrowed his eyes as she disappeared into the kitchen.
“I’m going to give you something to help you sleep. It should get you back on schedule.” Taehyung stared at his plate of food again, the fork pulling through the vegetables.
And he saw it again.
The green pellets - similar to the inside of the vitamins that April insisted on shoving down his throat.
He lost his appetite.
11:30 pm
April sat in a chair at the side of the bed. Taehyung had seemed suspicious of the sleeping aid. But, he relented after admitting he was tired. Her fingers pinched at the skin of his wrist. She kept count of his pulse before letting his hand down gently.
She stepped out of the room, the door a gentle click as she moved to the front of the house. The cell phone buzzing continued until it was retrieved from her lab coat.
“Well?” The voice on the other end inquired.
“I don’t know what to make of it, honestly.” She sighed. It was rare to feel the frustration of this level. Everything had been going smoothly for some years now. She wasn’t sure when things began to change - but Taehyung was destabilizing. “We need to get a handle on this before it gets too far.”
There was a deep, disappointed sigh that echoed in her ears. “April, I thought you said you could handle this.” The tone caused her to frown.
“I-I can. It’s just a small oversight. I will get him stabilized again. You have my word.” What was this nervousness? Why did she have a hard time believing her own words?
There was a thick silence that allowed her to hear the volume of her own swallow. “Fix it, April.” Apparent irritation in the male voice. “Because we don’t need a former leader of the Rebel Uprising to regain his memory. Are we clear?”
April released a quiet breath as she nodded. “I won’t let you down, Hoseok.”
“See that you don’t, Mrs. Kim.” The call disconnects. April ran nervous fingers through her hair. A hand clutched at her chest as she rushed out of the house. There’s got to be a stronger dosage that won’t kill him. Their research was imperative to keep rebels under control. It was essential to the stability of their society.
Her prestige was on the line - and while having Taehyung as a trophy was all well and good? April’s reputation was a far more precious thing.
11:37 pm
Hoseok pinched the bridge of his nose as the call disconnected. “Did she buy it?” A female voice asked. He steepled his fingers, turning to the fierce leonine gaze across from him. He offered a quiet nod.
“She’s spooked enough to make a mistake. But, it also proves that destabilization happens faster than the research projected.” Hoseok pursed his lips at the stack of folders opened across his desk. “And to think, it just takes a break in routine, and a couple missed doses.” This almost absently as Tempest flipped through a folder in her lap.
“It’s taken a long time to even figure this out.” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. She closed her folder with a snap. Her hands raised to cradle her face. Hoseok watched her shoulders shake before looking off into the distance.
“You’ve done well to be this patient, Tempest.” He rose to round the desk. A comforting hand on her shoulder as they rose on an inhale. “I know it’s been a long time. We’re almost there.” Tempest nodded while placing a hand on his. Hoseok took her hand, placing a syringe in her palm, curling the fingers over it. “This is it. If this works?” They held each other’s gaze for a long moment.
“And if it doesn’t, Hoseok?” The unshed tears in her eyes erased all his hesitation.
“Tempest. It will work.” It has to. She stashed the syringe in her coat pocket. They both turned to a monitor that showed April walking into the downstairs lab. “Go. I’ll keep her occupied. If anything seems off, you get him out of there immediately. You know where to go.”
She was out the door without another word. Leaving him to watch April fret over her data. His lips curled into a knowing smirk when she picked up the phone at her desk. He didn’t let the phone ring long as he sank back into his role. “Mrs. Kim, how can I help you?”
1:15 am
“We have to do something.” Conviction burned in the depths of his eyes. She knew she couldn’t sway him in this state. “It’s not right, Tempest. You know that as well as I do!” He threw a hand to the air as his voice escalated.
“Of course it’s wrong, Taehyung. But, what are we going to do against a whole global movement? This is madness!” She tried to get him to look at her as he paced. “We need to be smart about this. That’s all I’m asking. That’s all I’m saying.”
“There’s no time for smart, Tempest. If we don’t act now, soon? What becomes of us? All of us? Any of us?” His hands were tight on her shoulders.  They were afraid - both of them. Irrational and mindless with fear. To think that the UN felt that eradicating certain emotions would allow humanity to sink into harmony. They likened the state of the world to Troy. A beautiful woman could cause nations to war and fall.  So to solve the inconsistencies in the world? They would implement a new regime. One that would erase boundaries and barriers caused by status, race, religion, sexuality, and gender.
In a way, it would be starting over. Everyone would be assigned a partner. Someone that would genetically yield healthy, proper citizens of this new world order.
And they meant everyone. The prospect of relationships that have lasted decades being split on a whim had more than half the population ready to riot.
“I love you. I don’t want to lose you.” His fingers slid up the column of her neck. Her fingers latched onto his wrist as he tilted her gaze to his. “And I’m willing to fight and die to keep you.”
“I don’t want to lose you. I don’t need you to die for me, Tae.” She shook her head at the thought. “Let’s just go? Let’s just find someplace, the two of us. Let’s just go.” He smiled sadly as her head pressed into his sternum.
“Tempest, there are others like us. There will be others like us. We need to stick together while we can.” There was a quiet sob that muffled into his shirt. She knew he was right - and even she was surprised at her selfishness.
“We are going to have to fight, aren’t we?” She sniffled against the beat of his heart against her ear.
“As long as we’re together..” He murmured into her hair.
“Can we stay like this forever?” Her fingers clinging to him as if he’d disappear at that moment.
2:45 am
“You are interfering with human evolution!” A great debate ensued in the following months. Those who had lost faith in humanity gathered to champion the change in regime. This one of the few public, and cordial, debates that were happening across the globe.
Taehyung stood at a podium as a politician ranted until he was red in the face. He sighed deeply when the applause thundered in the building. “Listen, since time immemorial, we have all paved the way for ourselves. Humanity has made its share of mistakes, this will surely be another one. While the theory is sound, the application is not. We can find a way to achieve this harmony by working together to help those less fortunate. By building up those weaker, sicker, than us. Thus helping to strengthen the very foundation of our society. We can help each other stand.” Tempest watched as those gathered contemplated, considered quietly the path they were about to take.
“That’s been the key this whole fucking time! But instead of doing that work? You just decide to wipe us clean of the very thing that makes us human. Where is the evolution in that?” The politician looked around as the masses murmured.
He narrowed his gaze at Taehyung, a fist clenched against the podium edge.
It was that day - that Taehyung became a beacon for those who wanted progress without the overbearing regime. It was the day that Taehyung became public enemy number one.
3:30 am
He felt a pinch in the side of his neck.
Taehyung’s eyes rolled like marbles in his skull. A wave of heat and nausea rushed through him. He turned to the side to wretch into a small garbage can. Dizzy, feverish, and half-asleep, a disjointed voice echoed in his ears.
“Shh. It’s ok. You’re almost there.” His breathing labored as his body spasmed and arched off the bed. It felt like someone was taking a razor blade to his nervous system. His mouth opened on a silent scream as a pair of hands pushed at his chest.
He felt a weight settle over his abdomen, pinning his body down to the bed. Tears squeezed from the corners of his eyes as pain scraped him from head to toe.
Tempest moved his arms under her knees as she tried to avoid being bucked off the bed. A determined, teary gaze locked onto him as she waited. It was, unfortunately, a part of the process. The only way to complete the destabilization was to essentially scrape the drug from the receptors in the central nervous system. It moved through the body, sweeping in to gobble the remnants of the chemical protocol.
3:50 am
“Ah, Kim Taehyung. You’re going to be a fine example of our research.” April let her fingers dance along the dip in his waist. A satisfied smirk as she watched the staff strap him down to the table. He radiated pain as they stretched his limbs outward.
“You’re not going to get away with this, you psychotic bitch!” He spat. Their research had yielded fruit in curing his spinal injury. Now, it was time for the piece de resistance. He saw the multiple IV bags attached to the lines running into his hands and feet. They healed him but kept him weak and fatigued. Enough that they could do what they needed without much physical fight on his part.
April leaned down to brush a hand across his forehead. “I will get it away with it, Taehyung. And you won’t remember a thing.” She smiled as his vision blurred.
It all came back to him in a rush - his life. Memories burst from the chemical floodgate in his brain. He fought against something, trying to hold him back. Taehyung make sure to take your vitamins. Something kept him pinned, restrained - and he bucked to fight against it.
April’s voice began to fade away. April’s face began to dissolve away in his memory. His brow furrowed as the uncertainty was replaced with anger.
Rage.
His body twisted beneath the weight on top of him.
“Don’t die, Taehyung.”
His heart thundered against his ribcage as another voice became louder.
“Can we stay like this forever?”
“I love you, Tempest.”
Tempest? The name that caused his body to heat. Her presence caused his heart to calm. His brow furrowed as emotions swept over him. Because he remembered, suddenly, Tempest Estrellado. The woman he loved. The woman who brought joy to a decade of his existence. He was ready to ask that stubborn woman to marry him. To let him make an honest woman out of her - and then The Decree was made.
They spent another five years gathering like-minded people to rebel against The Regime. Then they were separated during The Uprising. And then…?
And then?
And then he was captured.
“Tempest.” His voice a half sob as his muscles finally released. His body slumping into the mattress as the lie that had been his life fizzled away.
“I’ve missed you, querido.” His eyes flew open to those leonine eyes fixed to his face.
“Tempest?” She moved her knees as his hands shot up to frame her face. Trembling fingers, pupils wide as he touched her. “You’re here? You’re really here?”
“Si, mi precioso.” Her fingers raked through his hair, nails scraping against the nape of his neck. Her fingers dug into his shoulders as their foreheads touched. “I’m really here. It’s over now. You’re ok. You’re safe.”
Taehyung’s lips trembled, opened, and closed with too many questions for his brain to process.
“Seven years.” She spoke as the meat of her bottom lip slipped between her teeth.
His brow furrowed as his head tilted. “W-what?”
“It’s been seven years, Taehyung.”
“It’s...that’s impossible?” He croaked. “It was just…”
“Seven years, Tae.” Tempest grabbed his hands, holding them steady as if she could stop the tremors. “It took us five years to find you. These last two years, we’ve been trying to find a way to reverse the re-education process. It’s been seven years since the Rebel Uprising.” Tae swallowed thickly with her words.
“And now?” His voice barely above a whisper.
“And now we know that it works.” Tempest framed his face with her hands. “And now I have you back. Now the hard work begins. Now we can-” Her nostrils flared as his hands pressed into her hips. His lips crashing onto hers, silencing anything else she had left to say.
“Shut up.” Feverish kisses as his fingers sank into the wealth of her hair. They weren’t exactly at the pinnacle of youth when the world changed. “Just shut up…” Tempest whimpered under his assault. “The only thing I want now? Is you. Just you.”
“Please.” She whispered against his mouth. “Please.” The need ripped through her gut as he flipped her over. Her legs wrapped around him, pulling her against the heat burning between her legs. He leaned back on his knees, peeling off the damp shirt. His hands slid up her torso before tearing the shirt from her body. Buttons ricocheted against hard surfaces as she unbuttoned her pants. His mouth blazed a hot moist trail against her collarbone and over the swell of her breast. His tongue swirled a nipple over the satin fabric of her bra.
He pulled her up to shrug the shirt off, the bra followed flung into the shadows of the room. They stayed apart only seconds long to maneuver out of the rest of their clothes. They were out of breath and completely naked, staring at each other.
Taehyung’s mouth began to water as she filled his vision. The beaches. The summer. Their time all of it, rushing back to him as he pulled her against him. She felt him hard, throbbing, and warm against her stomach. Taehyung’s fingers flexed against her ass; he tried to pull her into him. His tongue slithered against her bottom lip as she opened for him. They fell back against the bed as he nudged his way between her legs. “I’m sorry. I can’t wait. I promise I’ll be gentle later. But right now…” He growled against her mouth as his arms lifted her legs.
“Taehyung, please just - dios mio!” Her eyes rolled into her skull as Taehyung pushed against the lewd wetness of her slit.
And he bottomed out.
In one stroke.
He wanted to take his time remembering every inch of her body. He wanted to take her slow, build her up, and watch her fall apart beneath him. But, it’s been seven whole years that they’ve been apart.
It’s been twelve years since they were last in each other’s arms. He needed this - he needed her to chase away this bitterness inside of him. “Tempest.” He leaned back, letting his fingers dig possession into her hips. Her breasts jiggled with the force that he pounded into her. “God, I missed you. I missed this.” Beads of sweat dotted his hairline as she clutched the sheets. He knew he wouldn’t last; it’d been too long. Hell, he couldn’t even remember a time that masturbation even came to mind.
He moaned her name over and over. She spoke his name like prayer to deities long gone. Taehyung’s hands slid upward to cup her breasts, her nipples caught between his fingers with a light tug.
That was all it took. She lifted her hips to meet each thrust as her hips vibrated with force. His hands raked down her body, holding her hips upward. Keeping her right where he needed her as he pounded that soft spongy area inside of her. Her toes curled, legs cramping as she thrashed her head against the pillows.
Faster. Faster. Harder. Veins bulging in both of their necks as they reached for the finish. One thrust, two thrusts. Taehyung froze as she snapped down on his length with a gargled cry. His head fell back as he lurched forward once more. Grunting with their skin sticky as he emptied into her.  The orgasm was so swift and robust; his thighs quivered with the effort to stay still.
He took a ragged breath as he collapsed atop of her, pulling her to the side immediately. They lay in the afterglow, the light of pre-dawn filtering through the window. The sound of their breathing turned to quiet sobs as they held each other.
Their limbs were tangled, and he could feel her breath against the skin of his neck. The gentle rise and fall of her shoulders. Taehyung kept his eyes closed, living within the sounds and sensations around him. His fingers could trace the colony of goosebumps on her skin. He could smell the heat of her so close. The faint sweet, salty mix of their love lingered on his lips, turning upward into a dreamy smile. The rumble of his laugh, deep and sensual, caused her to smile.
And this time, he asked, “Can we stay like this forever?”
“We can, querido. We can now.”

Can I request “You’re a nerd.” with Yoongi?
-------
Min Yoongi!” You managed to keep the tremor out of your voice. “I think you’re making a HUGE mistake.” His heavy sigh answered as you shifted on your feet. “You have been agonizing over this song for a whole month. And I’m telling you it’s perfect as it is!”
You could see his shoulders sag as his head lowers. Biting into your lip, you stutter as you continue. “I-I mean it! You’ve managed to create a song with mostly minor chords! And you know that’s fairly rare. I mean, you’re not even really taking advantage of the Picardy thirds! But the song still somehow works with the few major chords and -...”
Yoongi turned around, sometime during your diatribe, and crossed his arms. He had a look on his face - that one that you couldn’t tell if he was concentrating? Or if he was thinking of where to dump your body where no one could find it.
“-...And I’m telling you that your slow songs are absolutely perfect! A-and you shouldn’t think of changing any of the instrumental because…” His gaze leveled on you caused your brain to short. “B-because…” Were you sweating?
“Because?” That low, thickly accented growl of sound rumbled from his mouth. A brow ticked upward with long seconds passing as he waited.
You balked. As if all the knowledge in your bones about music didn’t just come spewing out of your mouth. “B-because, I-Oh!” The sentence cut as Yoongi grabbed your wrist with a tug, effortlessly tumbling you into his lap. And before you could open that beautifully smart mouth of yours?
He stuck his tongue in it.
This was heaven, wasn’t it? One hand was firm at the nape of your neck. He held you right where he wanted you as his tongue flicked against the seal of your lips. Your nostrils flared as you granted him access. He tickled your soul as he sealed his lips to yours. The wiggling flick of his tongue sliding against yours did something to you.
It shut you up.
He broke the kiss with a loud smack. Your eyes were as dark as his as he smirked. You were blushing from ear to ear.
“Y-Yoongi?”
“You’re such a nerd.” He smirked, standing you up from his lap. “I won’t change it since you like it so much.” He turned back to the mix-board as if he hadn’t kissed you senseless. “Can I have my coffee now?”
“R-right.” You took the much-needed escape so you could calm your nerves.

“Can we stay like this forever?” She always asked him this after. Their bodies drying in a cool summer breeze through an open window. Their limbs tangled and he could feel her breath against the skin of his neck. The gentle rise and fall of her shoulders. Taehyung kept his eyes closed, living within the sounds and sensations around him. His fingers could trace the colony of goosebumps on her skin. He could smell the heat of her so close. The faint sweet, salty mix of their love lingered on his lips turning upward into a dreamy smile. The rumble of his laugh deep and sensual caused her to smile.
He could always remember her eyes - they were unique. Leonine. A golden-amber concoction, a genetic mutation that added something wild to the already fierce attitude within that petite form.
His mouth formed her name, but he could never hear it. She tilted her gaze to his face as his fingers slid along her jaw.
He’d always say something - it was something that he knew he shouldn’t be saying. But, they said it to each other. They said it freely.
Then there was always pain that seared his mind.
Then the alarm would ring and it would be forgotten again.
5:30 am.
Wake up.
5:45 am.
Shower.
6 am.
Coffee. Toast. Protein bar.
6:15 am
Run 4 miles.
7 am.
Shower again. Protein bar. Protein Shake.
7:15 am.
Lock the door.
7:55 am
Arrive at work. Clock in.
8 am.
To say that Taehyung was methodical was to point out the obvious. He always showed up minutes early to work, making sure the office was lit and inviting. As inviting as their line of work was, anyway. He stared at a stack of folders on his desk. They never seemed to shrink, these stacks. Names, faces, and pertinent information lined flimsy manila folders.
It was time to gather candidates to increase the population.
He sipped a cup of coffee as the voices began to filter into the office. Taehyung carried the stack of folders to the meeting room nearby. A presentation loaded as he stood in the corner.
“Good morning, everyone. We’ve compiled the candidates for this year.” Everyone settled in their seats.
He talked numbers and statistics for almost 3 hours.
“Any other questions?” The room was silent as the lights brightened. “Alright, you know what to do.” They all stood with a nod in his direction before they filed out of the room.
12 pm.
Lunch and coffee in his office.
5 pm.
Debriefing with The Council liaison.
7 pm.
Lock up and head home.
8 pm.
Late Dinner.
“Taehyung, dinner is in the oven. I have to report to R&D tonight.” A female voice spoke softly as he walked into his home.
“I suppose it cannot be helped. Do be careful, April. Things have been slightly tense in the riot zone.” He hung up his jacket as his ‘Wife’ slid hers on. She offered a slight smile as she grabbed her badge.
“Rest well, Taehyung.” A brief touch on his shoulder. Like a dear friend wishing another friend well.
10 pm.
Sleep.
“Taehyung! Seriously! You’re slow as molasses.” A voice taunted him, a petite figure outlined in front of him. He could feel himself licking his lips. An eagerness, an urgency to get his hands on her.
She was teasing him. She knew better than to tease him. He felt heat fire through his veins. The world was so bright and vibrant. There was the crash of water, the air salty like the...sea?
The ocean - the moon was full. Full like he hadn’t seen it in ages. When was the last time the sky looked like this?
He called her name and she turned around, her full lips tilted upward in a smile. She reached behind her back tugging at the string of a bikini top. Turning away from him as it fell down her arms. He heard a sound, like an animal nearby.
He realized it was him. He growled as the sight of skin glowing under the moonlight fueled him further. It was like time sped forward and he saw her face beneath him. Their bodies intertwined, her face scrunched in orgasmic bliss as she purred. He was losing his mind, he could swear he felt her around him.
The sound of the ocean was like a lullaby as their voices crescendoed and they cried out freely. She dug her fingers into his back and dragged them across his shoulder blades. He roared as he exploded inside of her.
Time went funny as they lay together, again, on the sands. Her face obscured as she leaned over him. She smiled down at him, saying something. She called him...something. The world began to fizzle as exhaustion washed over him.
“We could stay like this forever, querido.”
The pain was stronger this time.
5:31 am
Turn the alarm off.
Taehyung clawed at the throbbing pain in his skull. He stumbled to the bathroom, reaching for the vitamins April reminded him constantly not to forget. He swallowed them down with a glass of water.
He winced as the pain throbbed behind his eye. His hands gripped the sink until his knuckles were white.
It took ten minutes for the pain to subside.
Taehyung saw the reflection in the mirror and hardly recognized it. There were bags under bloodshot eyes. He splashed cold water on his face. He stripped down to jump into a hot spray of water. He stood there for fifteen minutes letting the water loosen his muscles.
“What the hell was that?”
Flashes of dreams kept creeping into his mind, the pain increased each time he tried to access them.
7:27 am
Hasty breakfast.
7:58 am
Barely makes it ‘early’.
8:05 am
Two cups of coffee as he grabs the stack of folders for today’s patients.
“Good morning, everyone. We’ve compiled the candidates for today.” Everyone settled in their seats.
There was a new face today. It was scary how all heads turned in her direction. She adjusted the glasses on her face as she stood.
“I’ll be working with your department as the liaison from the Medical Division starting today.” She approached Taehyung with a hand extended. “My name is Tempest Estrellado.”
She looked up at him ...leonine eyes. Taehyung’s brow twitched momentarily as he accepted her hand. “Ms. Estrellado, a pleasure. I look forward to our continued success.” He held her hand for one second more than he should have. “If you please take your seat?” She offered a curt nod before settling in her seat. Tae cleared his throat, clapped for the lights to dim.
Taehyung paced around the table slowly as he flipped between screens. Numbers, percentages, and her eyes are so bright even in the low light. He shook his head as he found himself staring at the top of her head.
The peek of collarbone caused his lips to part as two people spoke on some extra bit of information just made available. His thoughts suddenly wandered to the delicate fingers tapping on the keypad of her tablet.
“Mr. Kim…” Someone calling him had his gaze snapping upward. The young tech from R&D tilted her head. “...your thoughts, sir?”
“Ah, right. If we run into the same rabid sequences as last year? Protocol as normal unless we get clearance to combine genetic materials. It is still a curious matter for The Council if proper citizens can come from Rebel couplings.” He waved a hand moving toward the front of the room.
“Any other questions?” The room was silent as the lights brightened. “Alright, you know what to do.” They all stood with a nod in his direction before they filed out of the room.
1 pm
Lunch.
1:30 pm
“Mr. Kim.” A voice caused him to look up from his desk.
“Yes, Ms. Estrellado?” He wiped his mouth, cleared his hands and stood. An arm spread to offer her the seat in front of his desk.
She wore her hair in a ponytail, slicked back. Its length easily the middle of her back. She was petite - even for what he was used to. She was maybe 5’5 outside of the two-inch heels she wore, that is.
“...so I’m going to need a space to work. I hope you don’t mind?” She arched a brow as he shook his head again.
“Uh, n-no. That’s not a problem. The office next to me is quite large. I’ll have it ready for you tomorrow, should that suffice?” He maintained his professionalism as she offered that slight smile.
“Splendid.” She stood offering her hand once more. “I’ll be heading to collect my things - I’ll be here bright and early.”
They shook hands.
She left his office, and he found himself sagging against his desk.
The pain ringing like a bell in his ears.
Promise me, Taehyung. No matter what. Promise.
He shook his head violently as he settled back at his desk. It seemed like he stared at nothing until his phone rang.
“This is Mr. Kim.” A receptionist pleasantly announced his Wife calling.
“Taehyung.” April spoke, that pleasant friendly tone, “...are you alright?” His brow furrowed as she asked.
“Of course, why wouldn’t I be?”
“You didn’t eat your protein bar this morning. That’s unlike you.” He could detect the stirring of worry.
“Ah, I had a bit of a headache this morning.” He sighed quietly.
That worry seemed to turn into something...else. “Did you take your vitamins, Taehyung? You know how important it is for you to take your vitamins.”
There was something almost cold, ominous in her tone. His brow furrowed deeply as he answered her, making sure the hesitation was absent from his voice. “Of course, April. I took them immediately when I woke up. I was quite fine after a shower. I think I was just alarmed at the one minute tardy. I assure you, I’m fine.”
There was a long, thick silence before she spoke again. Her tone was light and friendly once more. “I’m sure it was jarring, Taehyung. Just let me know if you feel strange, alright?”
He forced himself to smile, so it filtered through into his voice. “Of course, April. I need to stay late tonight. We have a new colleague who’ll be using the empty office. I’d like to have it ready for her use.”
“Of course, Taeyung. You’re not the only ones busy. I will leave dinner for you. Have a good night, Taehyung.”
“Of course, April. You do the same.” The line goes dead but he still holds the phone aloft. It’s almost a full minute before he placed the handset onto its base. There was that bothersome echo in the back of his mind again.
It was exhaustion - wasn’t it?
10:37 pm
Nails on a chalkboard. That was the sound of the heavy furniture sliding across the floor. Tae had removed his jacket and dress shirt. His white t-shirt had slightly grayed from cleaning the other office. He worked quietly adjusting the office to spec. There was a certain placement for all of the furniture in the office. They all looked the same, even when facing different directions.
11: 32 pm
Taehyung grunted as he dropped a box onto the floor. He rotated his shoulder to work out the strange soreness. It was unusual for him to suffer such strains. “Mm, I didn’t have much to eat today.” He sighed. That conversation with April caused his brow to furrow. He glanced at his watch with a deeper sigh. He didn’t understand that sudden change in her demeanor. He didn’t understand why he felt the need to keep up appearances. There had been no reason to be dishonest with her.
She was his wife. She was also a medical researcher. She would have understood his symptoms, right? April would have offered some kind of solution, right?
Why am I thinking about this so hard? Taehyung pushed to stand. One more cup of coffee would give him the energy he needed to push through. That’s what he believed. The office was a strange place at night. There were a few occasions that warranted his presence in the office so late. He shouldered into the break room, pulling the fridge open in the darkness. The light seemed eerie as perfectly situated rows of water and milk lined the shelves. There were fruits and vegetables in the drawers. Small bags of freshly cooked proteins.
He reached for one of each, plus a bottle of water. He waited those few extra minutes to brew a small pot of coffee. His hand scrunched over the tops of the bags holding the food. The other held a hot cup of caffeine against his face.
1:48 am
Exhausted.
Taehyung was exhausted and he couldn’t explain why this sensation caused something to spark inside of him. He sprawled on the floor, making sure not to disturb the exact precision of his work. His eyes closed as he paid attention to the thundering in his ears. The tightness in his chest as he fought for more air.
Why did this interest him so? Why did it seem suddenly...familiar?
“I shouldn’t have had that extra coffee.” His voice was gruff as he drifted into sleep. Just a small nap, just a moment to close his eyes and rest.
The sky was bright, fiery - hot.
“Taehyung!” She called him her hand extended as he pulled himself up from the ground. “We have to get out of here.” Those leonine eyes were hard and filled with determination. He could feel his heart thundering in his chest.
The coppery taste of blood filled his mouth causing him to spit. The sound of gunfire echoed above their heads. They returned to fire on opposite sides hiding behind the shattered pieces of building near them.
“We have to make a run for it.” He told her. She frowned but hardened her gaze with a nod. They were sitting ducks this way. Taehyung reached out and grabbed her hand - there was a break in the fire. Then they ran - hard.
“We have to find a way to meet up with the resistance, Tae!” The female’s voice was loud over the sound of violence around them.
“We have to live through this first!” He growled pulling her in front of him as he spun around a corner. “Listen to me, we …” His hands framed a set of tiny shoulders, holding them firm. “...we need to split up.”
And as he anticipated, “No. NO! Fuck no, Tae! Tae that’s madness! We can’t!”
“LISTEN TO ME.” He shook her harder feeling his brow crease. He didn’t like it. He abhorred the idea of being away from her. But this new world order gave them no option. They had to find their way to the Rebels that would help them. “Please, I beg you. Please, we have to split here. I’ll draw their fire. You have to run. I promise you, I’ll find you.”
He hated it. He hated seeing those rare eyes filled with tears. He hated seeing that strength seep from her. “Please.” He framed her face as their foreheads touched. She grabbed his wrists squeezing her eyes shut.
“Don’t you die, Taehyung.” The female took a shuddering breath as her tears fell over his fingers. “Do you hear me? Don’t you fucking die. I will find you.” She dug half-moon indentations into his arm as their lips smashed together for the last time. He could feel his tears burning hot craters against his cheeks.
“Go ____..” He croaked as she sobbed quietly. She finally pulled away running toward a thicket of bushes. Taehyung felt himself hyperventilating as he held his weapon tight. He wanted to run after her. He wanted to scream for her to stay where she was. He swallowed his cowardice as he moved beyond the cover to open fire on the enemy.
I won’t die.
He pushed toward the open field, drawing their attention to him. Searing pain radiated on his left side, causing him to take a knee. The world was silent as the sky seemed to come to meet him - or he met it?
The weightlessness of the world was apparent as the blue of the sky filled his eyes. The fiery blast sent him, others, and debris hurtling to the sky. He heard the crack of his body as he landed on his spine.
The tears filled his eyes as the world crumbled around him. He made a promise. “I’m sorry…” Taehyung coughed blood in spurts as his world began to fade to black.
Taehyung. He could hear her voice even as his body pulled him into the darkness.
Taehyung, wake up! It was her. He was sure of it.
I want to go back to her. I want to go back to her!
Taehyung!
He sat up grabbing the arm that shook him from his slumber. His eyes wide as their close proximity gave them both pause. “T-Tempest?” There was worry etched across her face. He could feel her pulse racing under his hand.
They both glanced at their connected skin - and Taehyung saw the time.

Chapter 1- Prologue
Tumblr media
Chimes.
It sounded like chimes in the far distance, tinkling away merrily in the breeze. The castle was cold to the touch, but it was like home, welcoming and guiding the way to the faint sound of music. Each step echoed loudly in the hallway, despite having no shoes. But there it was; the sound that added to the symphony of the festive night. The long white dress billowed out slowly, that’s how I knew it was a dream. Well, that and the faint but strange hue of the setting sun. It was an angry, almost bloody, red; the kind sailors would warn others about.
Though, I had to be honest as I stood watching the sunset. This dream was so much more vivid, so much more detailed than the rest of them. Usually, it was a convoluted and jumbled mess that I had to piece together. Now? I could literally watch the rays of sunshine bleed into the night as it approached. I was seeing more and more people pop out of the nothingness to greet the dying sun.
Yeah. It was really fuckin’ vivid, down to the vines that crept up and into the windowless area where they had a drop of blood on the leaves. It left them looking like they were crying out for something. I reached out my hand to touch one but the chimes got louder, almost like a clock was going off somewhere nearby. One final look out of the area where the windows were supposed to be, and I was off. Needing to be somewhere before the chimes entirely stopped.
I raced down the hallway, the dress fanning out even more. I had to lift up some of the skirts to run safely. Finally, after running for what seemed like forever, I came upon solid wooden doors that were guarded by two tall statues. At first, they tensed up at my approach but when they reached out their hands for my invitation; they crumbled. Seeing the powdered marble and chunks there on the floor, it was like something in my soul snapped. Like a tightly wound string in my chest that finally let loose, as if someone had cut it cleanly with a pair of scissors.
And I felt happy about it.
So I pushed the doors open. They slowly parted with mighty groan and creaks from being so still for so long. Oh, but they revealed the most beautiful sight! Multitudes of people were twirling around in their fancy and posh dresses with their masks. It was a masquerade party, and it was in full swing. Pairs of dancers were dancing around and around, their clothing making beautiful arcs in their wake. Smiles and happy laughter wove in along with strings that people were playing on the sides.
Even the twinkling of the chandelier welcomed me as I looked up, walking further in. How I desperately wished that someone would ask me to dance! I couldn’t help but clap my hands together like a little schoolgirl as my eyes eagerly swept the room of dancers. It didn’t matter that I had a seemingly plain white gown on or no shoes but just that the scene was so elegant and beautiful. Each little twinkle of diamond on dresses, the satin feel of someone’s coat brushing up against my skin. My gawking was interrupted, however, as I felt a tap on my shoulder and a whisper in my ear.
“You’re not supposed to be here, little Princess. I wonder how you got in?”
I turned around, slowly, to the source of the voice; curious about such an elegant tone. I was met with a simple mask being placed on my face, and immediately being caught in a grip that I couldn’t escape. The arms and sturdy frame pulled me into dance, but no matter how hard I tried to look at my new partner? I couldn’t get a decent look at him. Only a darker skin tone than mine and an easy smile. The chimes got louder and louder with each pass until they were all I heard. I distinctly heard him sigh before stopping, looking around at the looming clock in the corner. His lips pulled into an apologetic grin before kissing the pale skin of my hand. The flesh nearly bursting into flame from where he pressed his lips.
“I suppose it's time for you to go, Cinderella.”
And with that, he pushed firmly on my shoulders and the action made me stumble back. I fell backward but didn’t hit the ground, instead of falling into the floor? I heard shattering, and I could see the ground in pieces around me as I fell. The falling sensation quickly flipped my center----

Chapter 12- Sons of Fate
Tumblr media
"The time is coming that I must warn you And though it's something that you may not understand They can't be saved by just one man"
Jungkook growled, another body hitting the floor.
The Major was barking orders at his men but the officers realized that this one man just took out 5 guys in the span of a few seconds. The cold gaze nearly had them running already but some of them could get close to the man, only to be incapacitated with just his hands. Not once did he pick up any weapon but if they pressed him, then he would because they now didn’t have time for them to stay. All of them were now unwelcome guests that had finished their good deed of the century, as crazy as it was.
“Jungkook, we have trouble! Their distress call was picked up by another Federation ship and it’ll be here within the next 30 minutes. Get Vairuit and leave!”
Jimin’s voice came over his earpiece, slightly raised in his alarm. It wasn’t just about the facial recognition now, they had backup coming to them. He gritted his teeth, the muscles in his jaw working. Another officer announced the same thing, bringing glee to the Major’s face as he gloated about his prize. He really wasn’t any better than the pirates and a wash of bile threatened to spill out, the sick feeling rising at the thought. He was disgusted by them as he thought about the Not All Federation signs he had seen. From what he kept running into, it really was all those pigs that just wanted to capitalize on all of them. They just had the law to hide behind and the pirates were just selfish.
He reached down and picked up a gun, slowly looking it over as he made sure that the thing still worked. Almost immediately, the rest of the officers raised their’s in response to him. He’d already dodged some shock batons and such but he didn’t want to spill blood on their good deed--but now it was needed. The road to Hell was paved with good intentions, the story of his goddamn life. It was like a fog had appeared on the ship, the atmosphere going colder as he straightened up. The rage that he had locked up for so long was threatening to overspill, the urge to kill them all because he wanted to protect them all. He may not have known some of them for long but the protective instinct that he had reared its head when the threat was made.
Jungkook would protect what was his and all of them on their ship were all his. Including Jin, whom he had looked after since the beginning of his freedom. The flashes of his broken body yelling at him to let him pilot, the blood pouring out of his eyes from the escape. It was a damned miracle that he even got them out of there, the stress of the event nearly killing him. He could have left him there to deal with his sins but Jin pulled him along too. Jungkook couldn’t-- no, wouldn’t have that happen again.
His eyes seemed to glow again, his breath almost stopping as he leaped forward and started to shoot. Several of the officers fell, the spray of bullets taking out some of the consoles as well. However, a lucky shot clocked him in the jaw and sent him backward. Before he could whip around and shoot the offender, a blue light appeared between him and the rest of the officers on the bridge. A hand roughly pulled him up and Jungkook whipped around, ready to fight as he realized it was Vairuit. She saw his face and let him go, a bit shocked that he was like that. The Major started to scream and rail, wailing that they were getting away. He gave the man a disgusted look and threw the weapon down before walking ahead of them. The alert was given to the whole ship but what they found wasn’t a guard waiting on them--it was all of them trapped behind force fields as they walked.
Vairuit paused before getting on the Antares , looking back behind her. Jungkook had already stomped his way aboard, shouldering everyone away when they asked him what was going on. Nyala came out there with her and touched her on the shoulder, ever so slightly but enough to catch her attention. The Mao looked up at her and pointed, her long finger showing that there was one more person coming their way. Nyala had to smile as she realized that it was the man she had previously talked with. Along with Vairuit, he boarded the ship as well with an armful of belongings.
They pulled away from the ship, just as the other was getting there. However, their new passenger made sure that the other was just as disabled when they left. Some electrical charges were left near the engines, a type of EMP that was amplified by the disabled ship’s systems. It triggered when they jumped to subspace, rendering the other ship unable to follow as well.
Tumblr media
“How dumb do you guys actually have to be?” Yoongi stood in front of everyone, including the new person with his arms crossed over his chest. “All of this fucking shit could have been for nothing if you’d been caught. And you drug him along too!”
The new person shrugged and took a seat at the table that they had all gathered around. They had gotten away safely but now were on high alert for any and all Federation ship in the area. The man had requested any and all information pertaining to the ship as well as the android from Nyala, who had obliged. He had the various devices spread out on the table while Yoongi railed at the rest of them.
“We couldn’t leave them there, Yoongi! I would think, you of all people would understand a little compassion with all your gifts. After all, you stuck your neck out for me and got me out of things that I was never supposed to be in! Even Jin and Jungkook owe you a little bit too!” Everyone looked surprised at Jimin’s outburst, slamming his hand down on said table. There was a very audible crack that they could hear which even made the newcomer look at him in surprise. Jimin took a breath and bent his head down, apologizing for the outburst in a very small voice. Nyala walked towards him but he took one look at her, shaking his head before leaving the room. It was then that another temper was lost as she whirled around on Yoongi herself.
He looked taken aback when she did, even Jungkook backing up a bit. Vairuit had been behind him when he did so, his body pressing up against hers. Normally she would have pushed him off or something but now that Nyala had broken her resolve, she wasn’t sure that moving was the best idea.
“How can you keep doing this, Yoongi? What is your real reason for being here? Just to undermine everything because it’s not in your control? I know the tension between you and Jimin is because of us but to hold that against every little thing we do is beyond childish. Get over your broken feelings and realize that we all are out here because of one thing or another. What matters is that we keep this from the Pirates--keeping them from DOING SHIT THAT HAS BEEN DONE TO US.”
The last part was screamed as her emotions finally got the better of her. Yoongi’s mouth opened and closed before he finally turned heel in the opposite direction. Jin attempted to go after him but Jungkook reached over to grab him. He shook his head, saying that he needed to be left alone. But he wasn’t the only focus of Nyala’s rage in that moment as she turned to Jungkook himself.
“And you! Why did you have to go on that killing spree?! You just made things worse for us!”
“It was either them or us since the Major wanted to make a profit off of us and you obviously can’t afford for this ship or anything/anyone being taken.” The man at the table answered for him. He sighed and stood up, pointing at Jungkook but he was really looking at his hands that had found their way behind him to shove Vairuit into the wall. “Those hands have already shed blood of others before so you knew as well if you wanted to protect others. Sometimes we must do what we have to in that aspect. As you should know, Nyala.”
His pointed words deflated Nyala as she realized that she had lashed out at them without provocation. She muttered an apology to them before leaving herself, to calm herself down. Jungkook nodded his acceptance as he left himself, the tension still high. So he, in turn, left himself to head to his room. Jin sighed as Vairuit suddenly moved, walking with a purpose in the direction that Yoongi went. Rubbing his face again, he leaned against the wall as he watched the man gather up the devices and placing them in a hanging pouch that he wore around his chest.
“Can you show me to the Android and the cargo hold? I want to be able to start as soon as possible.”
Jin pushed himself off the wall and ran a hand through his dark hair, the unnatural eyes that he had glowing as they worked. He checked the systems, making sure that everything was still running correctly since putting it on autopilot. He paused when the AI suddenly announced itself at his words, very obviously listening when it didn’t need to. Putting a hand on his chest in alarm, he had to calm his heart down when the thing was speaking to the man. There was going to be trouble out of that thing, he was sure of it.
That area is currently off-limits to visitors. Miss Nyala requested you be added as a crew member. Please state your name and designation before I relinquish rights to you, sir.
“My name is Namjoon. I am the Chief Engineer and the only person that can keep you guys afloat.”

Chapter 5- Straight to Video
Tumblr media
"All aboard, hit the road All the bullshit can't be ignored It's hard to place in my face, no emotion."
They really didn’t have much time to decompress and analyze the details of their recent adventure until they started docking maneuvers at the spaceport: Dragon’s Den. The spaceport had been around for as long as some could remember as it dated back to when the area was first colonized. However, the inhabitants varied just as greatly as the stars in the sky as it was a haven for most merchants and others looking to do their business. Jin briefed them on who it was that they were heading to see, walking and talking as they made their way down a corridor.
“Min Yoongi is a big-time Broker. He deals with all kinds of things: weapons, parts and even a person or two. Though I will say that he doesn’t slave trade and that’s good enough for me. He owes me and Jungkook a couple of favors so we should be able to get your parts but I don’t know long it’s gonna take.”
Nyala looked over his profile that Jungkook put together for her, the compact viewing device beeping quietly as she scrolled through it. He looked fairly human by all standards but Yoongi was actually a member of a species called the Agma, iris’ as black as the vacuum of space and having some psionic abilities that were exceptionally strong in the pure-blood families. Another way to tell them apart from humans was some of the dots near their eyes, resting high on their cheekbones. Most would mistake them for moles or other disfigurations but the more that one had signaled how old they were.
Nyala had to wonder what was one of those pure-blood family members doing all the way out there, having his own business?
They all approached a mansion, guards everywhere and even having to surrender their own weapons as they entered the building. The inside was lined with various things such as art, vases and other contemporary objects that would have fetched a great price. They, sadly, were not there to shop or even contemplate the various pieces as they kept up the brisk pace through the mansion. The guards escorted them directly to Yoongi’s office, some even giving them a look of disdain as they walked. Still, they arrived without incident and entered the spacious room to wait on the Broker himself. When he arrived, Vairuit and Nyala found him to be a bit short and not at all how they’d imagined him. He also arrived with a fair looking man, one that seemed to be softer and kinder than the Broker.
“Yes, I’m kind of short but I’m still taller than most people.”
The curt and grumbling voice that came out of the Broker seemed to be a stark contrast to his features. His partner smiled for him, however. He gave a bow to the guests and gestured for them to take a drink.
Vairuit eyeballed the pair of them before slowly making her way over to the table, something that was making the Mao unsettled about either one of them. Nyala could feel the same thing coming from one or the other but she chose not to partake in the liquor like the others and also preferring to hold her tongue about that fact. Yoongi’s black eyes bore into Nyala, one of the few that didn’t back away from her red gaze. He stared at her for a solid minute before he spoke up again, arms crossed as he surveyed the rest of them.
“So, you brought fuckin’ pirates to my sector. I’ve already had multiple requests to capture you and sell you out. From both sides. ” He walked out from behind his desk and stood directly in front of Nyala, unbothered by anything. “So give me a good reason to not turn you in and no--Jin, your favors don’t count in this instance.”
He tossed out the last part to the pilot over his shoulder who protested quite loudly and quite rapidly. Vairuit started to growl lowly at the threat and he tossed the Mao a silencing look, not that it did much good as she stared him down just as he had done to the Ifrit before. Before a fight could break out, Jin and Nyala both attended to him with her finally silencing the entire room.
“Fine but what I am about to tell you will put you in even more danger than just a few requests .” Yoongi grunted and signaled for her to continue talking as he made his way back to his desk, taking a seat. Nyala raised her arm, the apparatus on her arm glowing as she pushed buttons. Finally, she threw out her hand and a hologram appeared of a body. Arrows and lines pointed to several parts of the body as it rotated for all to see.
“This is a Bio-Android, designation TLS0B7. I took her from the pirates, along with this ship,” She waved her hand again and the schematics for the ship appeared, “This is the Antares . Both the Android and the ship work in tandem as a complex warship and navigation system. However, the pirates want both back in order to feed their delusions of making it to a place that cannot be piloted to via normal means. To get there, they must traverse and decode a path left behind by a group called the Ancients.”
Another wave of her hand and both the schematics for the Android as well as other information popped up side by side. Pictures and words floated around for them to read, showing all the information that she had collected. Yoongi was absorbing all the information, head resting in his hands in thought. The rest all gathered around the presentation as well, fascinated with what was being presented there. She gave them all a minute to continue to look things over before continuing on with what she was explaining to them all.
“The Demon Armada is convinced that the combo of the Android and the ship will lead them down the 13 Paths of the Dragon to the center of this system. According to them, they believe everything is connected and will lead them to this one particular ‘Holy Place’. In this place, anything is possible or achievable and they want to use this to obtain absolute power.”
Yoongi scoffed at her last few words, looking over at Jungkook. He, in turn, stared back and made no other noise otherwise. Jin noticed this exchange and cleared his throat, stepping up to the diagram.
“So you’re saying that they want to use this Android and ship to get to a place that nobody can get to? Based on a religion? That seems a bit far fetched .”
“I realize how this sounds but the reason I know as much as I do is because I used to be one of them.” Several people sucked in a breath at the declaration but she held up a hand, “However, the reason I was recruited was because of my extensive knowledge of the antithesis to their power: Majik. I am one of the few surviving Priestess’ that practice this art and can develop Curse Bullets.”
She reached in her coat to reveal the black gun and several of the bullets. Yoongi suddenly jumped up at the sight of the weapons, making his companion look at him in alarm as well as Jungkook. She placed one such bullet on Yoongi’s desk, Jungkook coming over to view the object himself. Nyala waved a hand and the bullet flashed blue, turning hot in his hand as it rattled on the desk. With another wave, it became still and left a scorch mark on the wood when Jungkook picked it up. The both of them looked at each other, volumes weighing down the silence between them. Even Vairuit eyeballed what they had, a look of concerned interest etched all over her features.
“However, this is the extent of my knowledge about their operations. In the escape, both the Android and the Antares were both damaged as I was heavily out-gunned. I was nothing but a researcher and captive until an opening came about. I would not want lives torn apart over something I could prevent, so taking them seemed like the best option.” She pushed another button and the hologram cut out, a weight almost being lifted off her chest. The companion walked up to Nyala and took one of her hands, smiling at her. She felt her body relax under his gaze before jerking her hands away from him.
“I’m sorry you went through so much. Please allow us to help you. I am Park Jimin.”
Yoongi nearly choked on air when Jimin proclaimed their help, sputtering his defiance at what he said. Jin clapped him on the shoulder, grinning before looking over at the desk that held a groaning mess. Yoongi rubbed his face aggravatedly before falling silent again, mulling everything over that had been presented to him. Vairuit chewed on a fingernail as she watched them all, going over everything herself. She hadn’t thought about some of the old teachings in a while but she didn’t expect a version of them to slap her in the face in the midst of a job. She certainly didn’t expect to sign up for a crusade, either.
Suddenly, there was a beep that brought them all back to the reality at hand. Yoongi almost punched it, barking out his displeasure at being interrupted. The voice informed them that more messages were being sent in, all of them getting more and more agitated as they went along. The last one promised that he would be dealt with should he not give up the fugitives within the next two days. He scoffed again, something akin to a laugh as he told the receptionist to delete them all. Sitting back down at his desk, he placed his head in one of his hands as he propped himself upon the arm of the chair. With a sly grin, the Broker eyeballed the lot of them again before making his decision.
“Give me a list of all the parts you need and Jimin, stop making our guests uncomfortable. I have a feeling we’re about to partake in an adventure again.” He pushed another button and a screen popped up, showing another person who stood at attention. “Hey, you. I’m feeling bored so I’m going to take the business abroad. In two days, I’m leaving so have whatever parts I send you ready before then.”
The person chirped their reply before the communication was terminated. Jin groaned at his words and whipped around to face him.
“Look, we appreciate you and all your business but-”
“But what? You don’t want me? Sorry, I’m going too. Investments and all..” Yoongi gave Jin a wicked grin before turning back to the others, daring them to say anything else. Even Nyala had to back down from that stare. The journey forward was about to become an even more interesting one.

9 am
“Mr. Kim, you seem to be unwell.” Tempest frowned as she pressed the back of her hand against his forehead. “Have you eaten?” He felt himself leaning into the coolness of her palm. There was a brow arch as she watched him. “Mr. Kim? Did you eat?”
Tae blinked sleepily as he straightened himself. The meeting happened earlier in order for him to retreat back to his office. “N-no. I wound up losing track of time. I had something small and coffee. I apologize for concerning you.” He let his chest expand on an inhale. “I’ll be alright, Ms. Estrellado.”
She lowered her hands just as the door swung open.
“Taehyung!” The voice sounded upset, but April paused as Tempest and Taehyung turned toward her. What was that look just now? He tilted his head as April seemed to shift her demeanor. “I-I was concerned about you. It was apparent you hadn’t been home.” She moved over toward him as Tempest took a step back.
There was a look that lingered too long for Tempest’s liking from the woman, who was obviously Taehyung’s wife. “I take it your Ms. Estrellado?” April spoke cooly as she let her fingers dance along his shoulder.
Tempest tilted her head politely. “I am. I was just asking Mr. Kim if he had eaten. I was going to suggest that he should go home to rest.” There was a darkness to April’s eyes as she watched the other woman. Tempest clasped her hands in front of her, nonplussed by the other woman’s focus.
“I think that’s a good idea, Taehyung.” She turned to him placing a warm hand on his cheek. A wave of nausea hit that had him pulling away from April.
“M’fine, I just need t-to..” He swayed. Tempest was under his arm before April realized he stumbled.
“Mr. Kim, I’m afraid I’m going to have to order you to go home.” He tensed at the word order. The Medical personnel held more power than even the military. The Medical personnel was responsible for keeping balance. For keeping the maintenance of The System which allowed the Council power and prestige.
If someone was called unwell by Medical staff? It was a dire situation. Life was too precious, too important to waste. April glared as Taehyung leaned too heavily on the other woman. She cleared her throat getting under Taehyung’s other arm. “I can take it from here.” She offered a tight smile as Taehyung’s weight transferred.
“Of course, Mrs. Kim.” Tempest stepped aside.
“Thank you, Tempest.” Taehyung murmured quietly as he gathered his things. April gave him a stern look that caused him to compose himself before stepping out of the office. Tempest gave a short nod before leaving before them.
11:17 am
“Do you know how embarrassing that was?” April’s voice cut the thick silence in the elevator. Taehyung said nothing as the bell rang to announce their floor. He was tired, his head hurt and all April could do? All she had been doing  - was bitching.
He waved his keyfob in front of their door.
“Taehyung, are you listening to me?” April followed him inside as he hung his jacket and bag. The shirt shrugged off his frame, causing her to tilt her head. Why hadn’t she noticed it before? It was as if he had somehow filled out? There was something enticing about him in this state.
It was so close to that time before. When he was so lively and full of fight. April bit into her bottom lip as she admonished the train of thought. He ran his fingers through his hair as he opened the fridge. He guzzled a bottle of water turning to the hand outstretched next to him.
“You need to take your vitamins and rest, Taehyung. You know you get thrown off if you don’t keep up your regimen.” April held out a small pack of pills. And for the first time in years, he hesitated before taking them.
“April, I’ll be fine. You have work to do.” He emptied the packet into his mouth followed by vigorous guzzling of water. “I assure you I can handle myself alone.” He arched a brow as April seemed pleased by his compliance. She sighed letting a hand settle against his cheek.
“Rest. Eat. I’ll be home in the morning. Hopefully, before you leave.” A slight smile before she spun on her heel to leave. He waited for the door to click shut. He waited for the distant ring of the elevator bell.
Then he turned to the kitchen sink and was violently sick.
The pills, undigested, floating in bile and a swirl of water as he washed them down the drain.
1:30 pm
“Why is it so hot?” He’d been sweating profusely. His fingers dug into the hem of his t-shirt as he peeled it off. It landed on the floor with a wet plop as he made his way to the shower. The water squeaked on as he dropped the last of his work clothes to the floor. The cool water pelted his skin for much-needed relief. It was strange to think that he’d never really taken a long shower before this moment. He adjusted the heat to wash his hair.
Taehyung squeezed his eyes shut as the lather slid down his face.
“You should let me wash your back, querido.”
A voice echoed in the bathroom - or was it in his head? His eyes popped open too quickly, blurring at the shampoo irritant filling his gaze. It was as if something flickered in front of him. He saw a body, a form  - a voice that sounded so familiar. But they were dreams, right?
He felt fingers pushing the wet hair back from his face. A body pressed against his and those leonine eyes snagging his soul again.
“What is it, mi amor?” She purred quietly, concern written across delicate features. He felt his hands on her body, so real.
He suddenly felt a burn in the pit of his stomach at her proximity. His body knew hers, responded to hers, wanted her. But, that’s impossible? These urges were a thing of the past. It was against protocols. These emotions, these sensations had been done away with. Yet, here he was in the shower - with a woman, not his wife. And he was on fire.
Taehyung spun in a circle shaking the soap from his eyes. He blinked rapidly as his fingers dug into pectoral space above his heart. He let the thundering of the shower pound against his head. Both hands were used to push wet strands of hair from his face. He reached behind his shoulder to make sure he was rinsed clean.
“Huh..” He tilted his head as he felt a small scar in the middle of his back.
He grabbed a towel as the handles squeaked into the off position. Taehyung frowned as he rubbed the condensation on his mirror. He turned to get a look at the scars.
Scars? Scars?? How had he never remembered these?! How had he never looked at his body’s reflection? His eyes grew wide as he took in the scattered warzone of his back. His hands gripped the sink as he felt the weight of something pressing against the front of his skull.
I promise I’ll find you. Don’t die.
He shook his head again, stumbling out of the bathroom. Taehyung didn’t understand the fatigue suddenly falling over him. He collapsed atop his bed, towel still wrapped around his waist, an arm across his forehead.
Taehyung.
He murmured something, half asleep. A voice that set his soul on fire. A voice that spread color through his world. A voice - that didn’t belong to April.
Taehyung sighed softly, nuzzling into the phantom fingers that caressed his face.
“..I promised.” He murmured sleepily. “...kept my promise.”
A body settled on the edge of his bed as he entered deep sleep.
A pair of glossy leonine eyes watched him until he was finally resting comfortably.
“...And I kept my promise too, querido.” Tempest watched his chest rise and fall for a few minutes before she stood. “Just a little longer. You’re almost there.” She brushed her lips against his forehead.
9:30 pm
It’s the first dreamless sleep he’s had in some months now. There was a scent in the room that had him reaching for his face. Did he get up and change clothes? He stared down at the sweats and t-shirt.
He reached for the glass of water at his bedside, draining it quickly. The glass hung between his fingers as the heel of his palm pushed into his eye socket.
9:45 pm
“Taehyung, I’m home to check on you.” April’s voice echoed from the front of the house.
For some reason, for the first time that he can remember - the sound of her voice - causes him to frown.

Chapter 10- What I’ve done, PT. 1
Tumblr media
In this farewell There's no blood, there's no alibi 'Cause I've drawn regret From the truth of a thousand lies
I am picking up a distress signal approximately 5 lightyears away. It would take us 30 minutes to get there should we decide to help.
Jimin patched the communications through to let them listen. It was from a Federation ship that had run aground and was attacked by some Pirates. The problem was because the area was so close to a cluster of pirates that were in the area, that if they were detected--they would have another fight on their hands. Nyala ran to her station since she had been in the cargo hold again, doing her check-up for the day on the crate. Upon reaching her station, she quickly did a long-range scan to find out more about the situation. As much as she didn’t like to stop and help, she couldn’t quite ignore the cry for help.
They were about to calculate their last jump to get to their destination, the planet Izanami and they couldn’t afford to get caught or even engage in battle. Not without trying to find an engineer, or at least get the rest of the supplies that they would need for a deep space run. Fate would only know where that path would be taking them and they had to prepare for the worst. Nyala and Jimin locked eyes from across the bridge, their thoughts starting to sound similar as they started to think the same thing. They both knew what could happen if they just left, or they could be detected after all. It was a gamble at this point and she played to win.
“Kibeth, plot a course. Maybe what we’re looking for will be on this path.” Everyone else started to protest her decision, especially Yoongi. She held a hand up to give her a moment to speak before continuing. “Look, I know that we’re showing that they’re the Federation but we might be able to use this to our advantage. We could use the information that they have and I don’t plan to have us fly blind when we’re dealing with the Armada.”
Her words rang true with everyone, no matter who didn’t like it. Yoongi’s face soured as he sat there in his chair, even more so when Vairuit cheered her decision. Jin and Jungkook gave each other uneasy looks before making up their minds. Kibeth had already altered their course at Nyala’s words, with a straight shot towards the distress call. And since they were a Vibrissa class ship, they would be able to help more than a standard ship.
“Nyala. I hope that you know what you’re doing because I don’t know if the Federation would show us any more mercy if we’re caught than the Pirates would.” Jin sighed, setting his jaw as he stared at the screen. She smiled at him, realizing what he was saying.
“At least, they won’t execute us on sight.”
On that, they all had to agree on that point. The Federation would at least take them as prisoners before declaring them fit for death for their outlaw crimes. There was more of a chance to escape with them than the Pirates. Still, no matter the obstacles that were in their way at the moment--there was something else that Nyala was sensing since they had been passing by the situation. It was something similar to the currents that she could sense between all of them and if it was someone that could help there amid all of that mess, then she would help them out as well.
Soon the time passed for them as they got closer to their target, tensions mounting as they dropped out of subspace. The scene before them was fairly bad, chunks of the ship was missing and debris was everywhere. Whichever sect of the Guild attacked them, they struck quickly and without any type of mercy whatsoever. And as of then, they did not care to get any closer and investigate with the Federation sitting right in front of them. They were there to help and get out quick before they could get their engines back to chase them.
“This is the SC Antares, we heard your distress call and have come offer assistance,” Jimin called out for the warship to hear. A garbled sound was heard instead, prompting him to try and pinpoint what was causing the disruption. They all held their breaths, hoping that they would call it off but when Jimin got it to work--they almost groaned.
We hear you Antares. We just need help stabilizing life support and reinforcing our hull to transport these prisoners safely.
“They must not want us poking around too much,” Vairuit commented, eyeballing the mess. “Even more so if they were transporting prisoners. They don’t want to run the risk of one of them escaping but it looks like they had no choice.”
“They most likely have facial recognition programs on board, so if we show our faces then we’ll run the risk of being handcuffed…” Yoongi mumbled but Kibeth heard the comment and offered a solution to that problem.
I believe I can disrupt those systems from here. I require a direct connection, however.
Yoongi stood up and started to talk with Kibeth on what he would need to do. Some of the cargo on board he had taken with him with the full intent of helping them get out of situations. He was pretty sure that there was something in there that he could use and the only person that could safely get in without too much trouble would be Jimin. Yoongi’s face was much too recognizable and would be pinged immediately on the scanners while the rest of them were being hunted by both sides. They had to play it carefully if they were to help, even able to get the information that they needed while Kibeth was connected to their systems.
Nyala would stay on board with the ship with Jin while the others would help. The pair would start the repairs since the arms on the ship could be extended as it was a Vibrissa class, the extenders that could be used for a variety of things. Including outer hull repairs, using what they had around them to help put together a suitable outer shell or weld together exposed parts.
Jimin smiled his way onto the ship, the man not really being recognizable as he didn’t venture out as much Yoongi did. He talked with the Captain, keeping things short and sweet until he was able to put the transceiver into place. Once attached to one of the consoles, Kibeth sprang into action and quickly taking down their systems. The encryption was a walk and a breeze for the AI, surprising Jin as he watched. He knew that the AI was pretty high tech but he truly didn’t realize how advanced it was compared to other things. Yoongi was the only one that wore a device that altered his face a bit so that way people wouldn’t recognize him too easily, the price of fame.
However, there was something off about the entire scene and Yoongi could sense it. Some of the criminals deserved to be there but there were also others in there that had no business being in there. Some caught in the crossfire and some were just being desperate in life. As he was passing a cell, someone’s thoughts caught his curiosity and as he peered into his broken cell--he saw a man sitting there. The man could have escaped and done some real damage to the ship but instead, he was content to sit there. Among all the chaos and the repairs, Yoongi crouched down and stared at him. He looked up, sensing that someone was there and his sharp eyes bored into his. It was animosity that he was staring back at him with and Yoongi began to feel a bit unsettled.
“Why are you here? Can’t you let me live my life out in prison alone?”
The more Yoongi looked at the man, he began to see what it was that Nyala was talking about. The words that Vairuit and Jimin threw at him had his head ringing. It burned him up inside that their words rang so true and they were even coming to haunt him in that perilous situation. Or was it that he still wasn’t over what they said to him? The bothersome feeling was there like a connection that got under his skin or someone that he really didn’t like was talking to him and he had no choice but to listen. He grunted at his raw words, the feeling of them almost like hot water on his skin.
“I’m not the one you need to be worried about. It’s the pigs on the ship and the ones they have locked up.”
“Aren’t you one that’s locked up as well?”
The man gave the barest hint of a grin and turned around, showing his back to Yoongi. His back showed that he was done talking but it also showed that there were abrasions and bleeding there that he didn’t care about at all. He’d been hurt in the attack but chose not to say anything. Yoongi turned away, eyeballing the cell one last time before moving on to what he was really there for. He made his way to the cargo hold, seeing how it was one of the places that took the brunt of the attack. Placing some spacial transmitters on some of the cargo, they were transported straight to the Antares’ own hold. After doing so, he went straight back to the cell and found that the guy was looking at him again.
“Can’t get enough, can you? I’m not leaving so just go away and do your repairs. This ship is going to make it with the minimal amount so you can be on your way.”
Yoongi paused at his words, realizing that he knew a little bit about that type of stuff. He gave the guy one last look before taking off again, straight to Nyala to confirm what it was he had been sensing from the guy. The repairs were going to take just a little while longer so he had the time to spare since his job was already done. It was time to see if he really was going crazy or just letting the others get to him.

Chapter 6- New Divide
Tumblr media
"I remember black skies, the lightning all around me. I remember each flash as time began to blur."
“Look, if I get one more goddamn message about either the Federation or the Pirates--I’m going to shoot you my own damn self.”
Yoongi growled at the screen while Jimin laughed like it was an everyday occurrence. Jin was overseeing the loading of his ship while Jungkook and Vairuit were making that the load was correct. They had gotten all the parts that they could ever need, plus some for the new ship that Nyala was taking them all to. They all had protested that Yoongi and Jimin shouldn’t go but they wouldn’t hear any of it and even the beautiful Jimin said that they would need someone with his skills once they got there. And Yoongi didn’t go anywhere major without him, so it was a deal for the both of them. Even Jin had complained that there wasn’t enough room for all of them but he was overpowered by the quiet man.
Now it was reaching Zero Hour for them and they had all kinds of people asking for the others, hoping to either collect the bounties on each of them or to get them off the station before real trouble happened upon them. Still, keeping the attention on them instead of the ship was smarter since they were finishing up. Getting out of there, however, would be the main problem as the entire area was flooding with both sides hoping to get a piece of the prize.
Yoongi had thought of that, a grin forming on his face as he placed everyone where he wanted them. It helped that he had such a network of connections and such everywhere he went, which meant that there were some that were fulfilling favors for him. They would be the decoys while they all got away, a simple plan that nobody would expect. After all, one expected the lot of them to blast their way out but any damage to the station would put others at risk. Another reason why both sides didn’t just fire upon it because it was integral to operations for both of them. Still, they laid in wait for them to come out of hiding because they couldn’t just sit there forever--and they were right.
The last of the cargo was secured in place when Jin took to the comms, letting them know that the ship was ready to go. The Broker then broke his silence to let the others know that they were proceeding with his plan, to cause a little chaos inside the station. Soon after, reports started to file in as Jimin caught them of the Outlaw’s last stand inside the station. It was the signal that the troops from the Federation would flood in and then the Pirates because they just couldn’t let them catch their prize. All the while, the group would take the safety junctions through the core of the station to the docks where the ship was waiting on them. It wasn’t as quick as going the direct route but it would see them there with as little conflict as possible.
Upon reaching the ship, Jin started on a tirade about how nobody cared for him and that all he was good for was to get them out of trouble. Everyone took places with Jimin taking Nyala’s place at the station she was previously at. He eased her away from it, a small smile on his face as she stepped aside--unsure about what to do in that situation.
The takeoff procedure was easy enough for them but it was getting through the ships. The space station wasn’t too far from an asteroid field, keeping the defenses of the station busy at all times with the number of stray asteroids that would head that way. Jin had been eyeballing a trajectory since things started to be loaded on the ship. He only had a few options but the field would be the best plan if they were to escape and get to subspace Drive. He just didn’t tell anyone about his plan of attack because he could only hear the opposition that would occur and he didn’t need to be distracted while getting them out of there. Once the ship made its way towards the asteroid field, that was when the concerned voices started to sound off. Even Jimin voiced his opinion about the action but Jin turned around in his seat and eyeballed them all.
“Look, this is our best chance of getting the fuck out of here so if anyone’s got anything else to say about my piloting skills--then they are welcome to take over. It’s either the field or the Armada.”
He waited for a second as silence filled the area before turning back around, resuming what he was doing before the protests broke out. He called out for Jimin to give him assistance, the other man hanging onto every word. The both of them moved at unnatural speeds as the ship sped towards the asteroid field, the words barely leaving Jin’s lips as Jimin was already punching it in. Unfortunately, there were ships that had caught onto to their plan and boldly followed them into the field. Yoongi yelled at Jin to slow down while Jungkook and Vairuit were busy blasting the rocks away from the ship. Nyala decided to help as she started to chant again, the energy gathering all around her before she released it. It sunk into the ship and Jimin reported that shields were actually gaining power because of it.
Tumblr media
Jin weaved in and around the asteroids, dodging like he was made of something liquid. There were a few scrapes, a few bumps that just couldn’t be helped but he made it past the field and onto the other side with a victorious yell. The ship sailed right on through and started to prep for the jump to subspace, mere seconds after it was all clear. They wasted no time in getting out of there, leaving the battered ships behind them.
Once at subspace, they all breathed a sigh of relief--relaxing a bit as they took in their new freedom. Jin turned around in his seat and blew Jimin a kiss, who laughed and shook his head. Vairuit jumped up and suddenly ran to the back, where some of the cargo was stashed and brought back some glasses as well as a bottle of liquor. She grinned at everyone, knowing that she had placed it there when Jin wasn’t looking. They couldn’t really deny her the drink as the entire ordeal had been grating on their nerves.
So a drink they had.
It would be at least three days and two jumps to get to where they needed to go, another asteroid field that held an abandoned station. It was once a spaceport--until the planet nearby was destroyed. Some said that the Pirates had done the deed while others said that something had crashed into it, causing it to break up into pieces. The inhabitants had long fled the system, integrated with other parts of society in the System but the wreckage was still there. Still able to be used if one had the guts to do so and they did. The field wasn’t as dense as the one that they had gone through but it still posed some dangers.
Later on, Nyala had wandered into the cargo hold to inspect the crate that she had brought along. Her device beeped at her, varying symbols popping up as she ran tests to make sure that the cryosleep still held her in there. She didn’t notice that there had been someone behind her as she did so, more focused on her task at hand. Jimin was curious to see what it was that Yoongi had been talking about with Jungkook and Vairuit didn’t know too much about it either. Jin was more concerned about everything else that he didn’t want to bother him. So he went straight to the source.
“Miss Nyala, may I have a moment?”
Nyala almost jumped, never hearing or sensing him come up. She had been on edge about him since the moment she laid eyes on him, unsure of what it was that made her that way. Was it the fact that he just looked too nice, too innocent for his line of work or the company he keeps? Or was it something underneath that ran along the currents of their everyday lives that she was picking up on? She nodded, giving him more room in the cargo hold as she continued on with what she was doing. He peered at the device before looking up at her then to the crate, his words caught on the tip of his tongue as he chose his words carefully--like he always did.
“This crate contains the Bio-Android, yes?” A nod from Nyala signaled him to continue, “Do you think that the Pirates really will abuse her when they take her for their means?”
Nyala paused, hoping that would never happen but there was one thing that she was certain of. And that was the belief that the Armada held such strong beliefs that they would go through great lengths to achieve what they were looking for.
“Yes. And they will stop at nothing to get her and the ship we’re headed to. I understand if this is all too much.” She started to punch some buttons on the device when his hand was suddenly on her arm. His hand was gentle yet still had a firm grip there, for support. She put the device down and looked at him thoughtfully, eyes still red like embers under a dying fire.
“I don’t want that to happen to her. I am… familiar with her struggle and I care not to have the same thing that happened to me--happen to her. If Yoongi will not stay and help, then I will break myself off to help all of you along. No person should be a slave or put through something they wish to not happen.”
His soft words became bitter at the end, a glimpse of his true self breaking through the mask that he always carried. Nyala saw the paths of this man, in that moment and took a moment to realize something that she had neglected to analyze herself. The paths that they were all to tread, how they were all being gathered there. There must have been something more about their meetings than met the eye. She smiled at him, one hand reaching up to pat his cheek before announcing that she was fine. There was no damage and everyone was truly safe.
For the moment.

Chapter 11- What I’ve done, PT. 2
Tumblr media
"Put to rest what you thought of me While I clean this slate With the hands of uncertainty"
There was no denying it, Nyala could sense it closer now and was confirmed when Yoongi told her about the man in the cell. She, however, had to pause at his words because it was almost like he believed or was it because of something else? She had noticed that he became abrasive towards Vairuit and cold towards Jimin, which she knew about the latter since their… talk. She would have been a fool to dismiss the looks that she received from him since then. She still needed to talk to him about that particular skill that he had but the times had gone from slow to harrowing in the span of a couple of days.
So she obliged Yoongi in his request for her to go and investigate the man. Still, what she found even surprised herself. The man was waiting on them, hands on the now mended bars when she walked up. She took off the mask and his face went through the expressions of recognizing her species which meant that he’d been traveling around for a while.
“I expected the guy but not you Miss Ifrit. Can you tell someone that the repairs on this level aren’t cutting it? Every time they try a test, the systems nearly fail and I’m not allowed near any types of electronics or gear to fix it.”
“How do you know that?” Her eyebrows rose in surprise at his words, deep and cutting as he called them out. He scoffed and pointed at the lighting, Kibeth telling her in her earpiece that he was scrambling the sensors again since they had rebooted. The lights flickered as he did so and her face landed back on his as he put his hand down at the proof. The both of them looked at each other and nodded, acknowledging the man’s skills. However, there was still the matter of the Federation and the fact that the man actually wanted to stay in custody. Yoongi attempted to glean the information out of his mind, to actually use his abilities on the man but he was met with some rather violent actions.
The man suddenly reached out and grabbed Yoongi by the front, the unexpected long reach that he had and pulled him harshly against the new bars. Nyala grabbed onto the man just as soon as Yoongi hit the bars and attempted to loosen the hold. She was even prepared to show him what it was like to suddenly show violence but the man’s next words were enough of a warning for them all.
“The next time you want to use your abilities on me, Min Yoongi --I suggest you ask first. God, all of you are just the same. You fuckin’ take and take because you have the ability to. Well, what happens when your ability causes death or are you so high and mighty that it didn’t even occur to you?”
The man released his hold, throwing Yoongi away from him. Nyala scuffled over to help him up but he refused her help, jumping up to face him instead. His eyes were narrowed as he stared possible murder at the man before scoffing and throwing his hand up, leaving Nyala to deal with him. She sighed again, knowing that this third defeat at the hands of people who were practically strangers was a mighty blow to his ego. She could tell that he was a gentleman but the hard life that he had been living had warped that disposition greatly. Crossing her arms, she took another look at the man before saying anything. After all, the man knew who he was and would also possibly know who she was. That could put their whole operation into jeopardy, should he decide to flag an officer down.
“So you’re not just some random man who lives the life of crime but someone who is talented with his skills. You must know who I am by now.” He nodded, going back to his seat and watched her as she took another breath. “Well… I have a proposition for you.”
"No.”
Nyala stood there, mouth barely working when he vehemently made his decision before she even got to the proposition. How could he even deny her when she hadn’t even said what it was about? He stared at her again and waited for her to say something else but instead, she reached in her coat and pulled out the device the schematics of the Antares , tossing it to him. The device clattered to the floor and she left without another word to him. Curious, he reached out and picked it up with a frown on his face. The buttons softly beeped at him as he looked through it, eyes growing wide.
Still, she had left and he had precious information on him. His heart was heavy as he reviewed the data, not only of the ship but of an android that seemed to be a key part to the ship. The details also showed that the android was damaged and since it was a real piece of technology, they wouldn’t have any way of fixing it without someone either talented or knowledgeable. His heart hurt, remembering why he was even there in the first place and nearly threw the device against the wall. Something stopped him, a voice in the back of his head that whispered memories from people long ago. Those same people that he had killed, their blood on his hands. They told him to help, to not let it happen to others. They pleaded with him to not turn his heart away and to redeem himself in other ways instead of rotting away. He hung his head and his hands shook, the voices that had come back after a long while.
He’d been sleeping a dreamless sleep for a while but recently, the nightmares were back to remind him of what he’d done. Now the voices had come back again as well but they spoke different words to him that day.
For the first time in a long while, he cried.

Nyala stood there in silence as the console blinked at her. Why did she even do that? Just threw sensitive information about them to a prisoner, one that could just easily turn them in. She knew deep down that her words weren’t going to reach him, he had closed himself off so securely that not even prison would bother him. Yet, she could feel the pull on him as if someone was pointing to him. They needed him and whatever explanations she could have given, it wouldn’t have been enough so she hoped that a visual option would work.
Jimin had come back to the ship along with Yoongi, the tension still quite high between the both of them. But they had, at least, begun speaking to each other since they started to help the ship. Yoongi slinked off to Jin while Jimin assisted Kibeth as it was becoming more and more difficult to keep the act up. Their engineers and other officers were starting to catch on to the algorithm, their way of fighting back against the AI. They didn’t have too much longer, maybe another hour or so that they could figure.
On the other side, Vairuit and Jungkook were just finishing up the repairs. The Mao was in the engine room while Jungkook was near the bridge. With his final touches, their shields were operational and he could hear the nearby room cheer. Even the soldier near him clapped him on the shoulder with a grin but as soon as that happened, there rush of people that he could hear and they had started to talk animatedly about something. It was all going too fast for him, making the other near him look on in curiosity. Jungkook craned his head to see as well and realized that they all were staring straight at him.
He was about to question what was going on and if there was something else when he heard the click of weapons. They were all aiming at him, the major walking out in front while the others had come around to surround him.
“Well, it seems that we have a Pirate on board. What were you hoping to accomplish, to take our information? Our systems attempted to reboot and in those few seconds, the system managed to scan your face. Your crimes are longer than our prized possession, Kim Namjoon. You’d also fetch a good price and favors with the Demons along with your company. The files said you’d escaped with Jin Michikalos then caused more trouble. It’s time you stop fighting.”
Jungkook’s eyes went wide, looking around at his options. He was practically trapped and didn’t want to fight like he used to just to get out of the situation, but if he was cornered--then he would. The cold glint in his eyes was slowly returning at the threat, even more since he brought his old friend into it.
Meanwhile, Vairuit lifted the heavy piece for the engineers and placed it perfectly into place. She clapped her hands, getting some of the residue off of them when her ears picked up on it. There was talking nearby about how they’d managed to catch someone that the Federation was looking for. Her heart nearly leaped out of her chest as she thought about the others and turned around quickly. The two engineers looked at each other curiously before looking at their console. She could see them out of the corner of her eye that they had slowly reached for weapons, hoping that she wouldn’t see.
They turned around at the same time she did and had to laugh. The weapons they had pointed at her were just some simple pistols, making her put her hands on her hips.
“Aw c’mon. Do you really think that’s gonna hurt me? Let a bullet hit me !” Vairuit gave out a laugh at the end of her comment when they fired. The bullets hit her and she growled, picking up a wrench to give them a couple of good knocks on the head for that. They fell to the ground along with the bullets that hit her, the smushed bullets still smoking a bit from being fired. She was just about to leave when another man came up to her but he didn’t attack.
He was tall and had a full face, one that had his strong jaw set. He walked up to her and handed her a device, one that smelled like Nyala. Taking it, she gave him a once over as she noticed that he had on the prisoner jumpsuit on. Wary, she walked around him as she still eyeballed him but he was looking at the engines before turning to her. He gave a sigh before rubbing the back of his head, as if he was still deciding on something. She crossed her arms as she looked at him, waiting on him to say something or attack her. It was one or the other and they were pretty much caught now so she needed to go collect Jungkook. What she heard next had her confused until she remembered the scent on the device.
“I’m coming with you.”
