The Horned Toad Inn

Running a bed and breakfast was supposed to be an easy post-college gig for this group of friends, but it’s proven to be something a little bit more difficult than they’d expected. 

Characters A, B, C, D, & E open the “Horned Toad Inn” after designing the establishment as a part of their final project in their respective majors. Each of the characters had their own specialty, including bartending, cooking, hospitality, finances, and cleanliness. They’d ensured that the immersive space allowed guests to feel as if they’d truly teleported to one of their favorite fictional taverns, be that at the Prancing Pony or the Sleeping Giant Inn.

The first month went incredibly smoothly, and they housed many enthusiasts over the course of those first few weeks. There did come a time, though, where the costumes of those entering were a little bit too realistic, and then there were the gold pieces used as payment by a particularly convincing Orc. They had a serious problem.

Please note that this could go in a few directions:

The Horned Toad Inn inexplicably exists in both the fantasy world and reality, leaving the group to try and figure out how to function as the bridge between dimensions.

The Horned Toad Inn itself acts as an amplifier for the features someone adds to themself, making them more; if you paint yourself green, you slowly become green. In a way, the inn has a way of granting wishes -- just be sure you look nice when you check in.

The Horned Toad Inn looks so realistic and has the rune mark for “safe” on the door, meaning it attracts true magical creatures from the surrounding towns and wilderness looking for a place to rest.

The lore is that Butthead is killed in a hit-and-run that only Beavis witnesses. He is understandably freaked out and flees the scene, only for Butthead to be back at school the next day like nothing happened. He doesnt realize it at first but Butthead has been replaced by an entity that fakes itself as Butthead and feeds off of Beavis' energy. Beavis is the only one that can see the fucked up thing that took his friend’s shape but nobody believes him because he is the way that he is so it just gets to continuously mentally torture him. When beavis sees himself in the mirror or in pictures he sees himself as distorted or blurry as the fake Butthead seeps away at his emotions and mental stability until hes just a tired husk but everyone else on the outside sees everything as just normal.

So I've been "working" on a Beavis and Butthead horror au where Beavis did kill Butthead in the episode Murder Site causing Beavis to completely switch when he no longer has his best friend and is riddled with guilt, becoming solemn and depressed. He spends the rest of his adolescence in juvy which also impacts his mental health, returns to Highland, opens the door to his house and there on the couch, unaged and completely oblivious to the hell Beavis has been through the last few years, watching MTV, is Butthead "where the hell have you been? Dillhole ehuhuuh".

Somewhere in this au I've imagined, Butthead convinces Beavis to kill other people in order to bring him back to life somehow but really just wants to watch Beavis suffer and see some violence, his spirit much more demonic than his mortal self. And obviously that leads to some shenanigans. I can't figure out how to incorporate cornholio though cause I like to go by the theory that cornholio is a seperate entity than Beavis but eh.
