I would LOVE a franzi spinoff or an investigations type game again. but I'm sick of phoenix centred games because I don't think capcom knows what to do with him anymore. I wish the apollo n trucy stuff would get resolved but after soj I just... don't think capcom is able w those games. like dgs was really good, aai2 was really (kinda) good, they clearly have writers who are excited and have new ideas for those spin offs. but the mainline just feel dead in the water. shu tamaki didn't even want to do aa4 I'm pretty sure because he thought the storyline was wrapped up- which I agree with even though I like aa4 and the characters it adds. but anyway, I just don't see where they can go after aa6, that game is a Mess.

Everything is always subjective btw, and if you play differently that's good! No one should always agree on the same thing, this is more advice and me rambling about my play style.

Night Waves

This one is important so I'm putting it here, in gushers the HIGHER the water is when it comes out the closer the Goldie is, it's usually closest one next to it. It's trial and error to see what the game considers the closest ones.

If you are away from your team during grillers or glowflies, join them. It doesn't matter if your strategy is better, if they aren't listening you need to JOIN them, it's better than singling yourself you.

In mothership, I've failed few times but the times I have failed it's something I've noticed, it's when we are unprepared to fight it. Don't be afraid to use your specials on it!!! Especially Killer Wail 5.1 you have 2 for a reason!

Another Killer Wail 5.1 thing, if there is mud mouths and around 20 seconds left and you aren't winning USE IT, it has piercing.

Specials

THE STEEL EEL CAN REACH YOU ON BOOYAH BOMB AND INKJET, KEEP IT IN MIND.

Killer Wail 5.1 will easily kill flyfish. Why does no one talk about it, if there are multiple on the map use it. It will also constantly hurt the mother ship, so if you are on a time crunch there use it.

Booyah bombs are good on reviving when everybody is dead, but also when you have a lot going on around you.

@ the people who use the crab on cohozuna but the shoot not the cannon, switch it. It does around the same as an egg.

Inkjet is good for crowd control, the shots can also get a flyfish. But what it excels at is reviving teammates from far away. Make sure to do it at a safe spot if you have the chance, because salmonids and bosses will aggro your SPOT not you.

Misc player stuff

Stop fucking always THROWING YOUR EGGS, INK IS IMPORTANT YOU CAN SWIM UP TO IT (this doesn't apply if you're on a time crunch ofc; use it to pass eggs on the shore to the basket NOT throwing it when it is easily swim distance)

Chargers are very important, always prioritize steel heads but any bosses you can, even if you're bad you can help by inking fish sticks for people to climb and keep to a high ground, I'm not the best at chargers in anarchy but I LOVE chargers in salmon run. If you're not good, YOU'LL GET BETTER.

This is will practice, but squid rolling will save your life, practice it when grabbing eggs, but multiple times have i dodged out of a situation I've died in by doing it.

This is just something I do, but especially if I'm using an anchor weapon (splatlings, chargers, etc.) I try and ink my teammates feet, especially when they're pretty caught, this is so they can swim away if they need to. (Obv I do it only when I can, but it's a good thing to keep in mind)

Bosses

I don't prioritize flyfish, unpopular opinion I know, but if there is one on the map, and you are overrun you slowly work your way out to it. Reason? Bombs take a lot of ink, so if you have present danger forgetting everything to kill a flyfish is stupid. There have been multiple games where me and my teammates don't take it out. Flyfish are important but you need to learn when it's appropriate to take it out.

When a big shot appears, and everyone is at the cannon, one needs to go to the basket (many times have half the eggs been gone because people are too busy slamming them in there)

Please *please* lead maws and scrappers to the basket. That's it, end of sentence

Slammin' lids release lesser salmonids (the worst being cohoks) and this is why you kill them, of course if the opportunity arises kill the boss under them but do NOT leave them there.

If one person is climbing the fish stick tower leave it alone. Actually, on that if you see someone on it, leave it alone. You don't want the whole team to die to some shit like this.

Fish sticks are also really, REALLY good at inking quickly. It's fine if there's one off shore but it can add up very quickly, especially on high tide. Additionally if you kill a fish stick before it lands, the stick breaks and won't stay.

Grraaaaghh I completely forgot to do this but it's better late then never!! Here's some stuff about Royal and why you should vote for them on @splatoonpolls oc-tourney!!

Introduction!

• Royal is the 10th agent of the squidbeak splatoon, aswell as an independent musician called '1ND1G0 SH0RE'. His biggest wish is his own musical breakthrough and his music to play during turf. It appears that his main weapon-type is the brush.

My first ever designed-to-be-an-agent-oc! And he evolved alot from being simply created for OC X Canon :'D

Next to his roles more related to actual "canon" Splatoon-content, he's also one of the two guides for the story mode of my au/oc city! (Agent 10 & 9 are mostly considered a "B-Team" when they're alone, along with their designated new recruit!)

• He became part of the Squidbeak Splatoon due to the disappearance of his younger sister Navy, after entering a mysterious sewer. Some very overwhelming (probably deadly) hours of many adventures later, the two siblings reunite and Navy reveals she's been enlisted in the group as so-called "Agent 9", offering the same to her brother. Begrudgingly, he agrees, making him the tenth agent (despite being only a year younger than the first two agents...).

Personality

→ Rather chill and laid-back, 10 doesn't seem to take this whole "agent"-thing as serious as they should, though willing to help the squidbeak when they're in great danger. Despite a lazy and uncaring outlook, Royal has always been open for a piece of advice towards his fellow agents, helpful or not. He's open and friendly, but deep down a reserved perfectionist. Royals strengths are his favorite weapon type, his speed and (sometimes) cleverness, but also his musical talent in musical instruments and his favorite audio editing-software.

→ He likes tableturf, tower control, playing around with his favorite software, stickers, naps and squid-plushies. He has tried regular turf war, but has been bullied out by inkopolis and splatsville kids due to his age.

Some other Facts!

• Royal is transmasc, aswell as demigender, ace and omniromantic. He's also 23 years old (S3).

• He lives in Flounder Heights and HATES it when it's designated stage is used. A kid almost threw a booyah bomb in his apartment on accident.

• Contrary to his sister, he seems to know Agent 1 & 2's real identity.

• His strained relationship with Agent 2 may be a reference to the strained relationship of charger- and brush mains. (And 2's suspiciousness of 1 & 10s relationship.)

• On the contrary, Agent 1 & 10 seem very close to eachother. Well, to his bad luck obviously still not breaking her and 2's bond.

• Next to his younger sister Navy, he also has an even brother named Skip, a Grizzco-Supervisor. Neither of the siblings seem to have much contact to Skip.

• C-Side Stan, Squid Squad-Hater.

• He has an entire notebook full of tableturf-cards, as well as a loss-streak of 37.

• His biggest fear are birds and floods.

• So far his Splatfest-Teams have been: Grub, Fire, Spicy, Milk Chocolate, Nessie, Power, Strawberry, Fame & Big Man

That's it! I sadly was very much distracted by school and a following brick of an artblock. Despite that, I hope I'm able to post more about him, art included! The art in here is kinda old but not too outdated :'D

I just want to thank you for such an amazing story. I’ve been catching up on it for the past week (still 100 pages to go :-)

A. I had no idea that Bridgeport was so beautiful (must start a game there now)

B. I can’t get Roy’s voice out of my head. Booyah!

Thank you for taking the time to send me such a wonderful message! I will mark it Never To Be Deleted and keep it in that special box where I keep all my most treasured asks. Wow, I take my hat off to you for your persistence! I started 5 Years Later 8 years ago on November 16 2014, and although my circumstances have changed a bit since then and I'm not able to update as much as used to, I'm just as committed to my characters and their stories as ever. I agree, Bridgeport is incredible. It really does have everything. (I have to confess I'm missing Isla Paradiso and Mia and Raj at the moment though- I can't wait to revisit them.)

Roy does have an unsettling way of getting in your head, so you have my every sympathy! He was introduced in 5 Years Earlier as a supporting character but I soon realised there was no way he was playing second fiddle to anyone. It's always got to be All About Roy!

Advice for Common Battle Struggles:

DISCLAIMER - This is just advice! It is not meant to be a 100% solution or guarantee it'll work every single time, as there are a lot of factors for each battle. It is just how I personally handle things and generally have more success than not!

It will also depend on your weapon; assume a lot of these are for weapons that can move around a lot, as I'm still learning slower/ranged weapons. (Mains of these are welcome to offer their input too!!)

Fighting Bomb Spammers - This one is tricky, especially if there's multiple. Pay attention to where they are! Bomb spammers like to stay back as they are often not good at actual fighting, so wait for them to aim their bombs towards someone else, then rush in and pressure them HEAVY. I find they don't respond to aggressive play very well, as they're comfortable just staying back in a well inked place and refilling for sub spam.

Fighting Special Spammers - Pay attention to that icon! Plan your pushes accordingly and know they will always stay back to farm, so mid should be relatively safe. A special spammer does not want to risk losing their meter, so they also likely wont engage in battles. Booyah Aerosprays are especially susceptible to pressure, as the RNG for the Aerospray is atrocious for actual fights unless they REALLY know what they're doing!

Fighting "Aimbot" Chargers - These are frustrating, I 100% agree with that especially for maps with fewer flanks. If you have bombs, and the charger is picking everyone off so easily, then YOU may have to become the bomb spammer. Never let a charger get comfortable where they are! If you have specials/subs that can disrupt them, target them aggressively. Make them spend more time repositioning than aiming!

Also remember, they can only target one person at a time! If your team is pushing one way, try to sneak/push a different direction! Only one of you goes down at a time.

Fighting Campers - This one is very map dependent, as most maps don't give you much space to escape. In my experience though, if you have a mobile weapon and can sneak out to the side somewhere, bolt for the middle of the map. Don't turn around, don't fight anyone, just make a RUN for it. When campers realize someone has escaped, 1-2 of them will turn around and chase you, leaving your base a little more open for your team to fight back!

And even if they don't catch you escaping, use "This Way" to coax your teammates to jump out to you to break the camp! (Make sure you are ACTUALLY safe before you do this; check no one is lurking around your spot!)

Beakons are a good sub weapon to keep in mind to break camps!

Teammates wont do the objective - UHHH not much great advice for this one! The best thing you can do is keep YOUR eyes on the objective; don't firmly lock yourself into one solid role! Being adaptable in any match is what will help you win more games. I know this can drive people crazy ("Why wont the charger/hydra/etc stay on the tower!?!?" etc) but if push comes to shove, improvise! If they're frontlining, then you get on that tower and try to support them with whatever ink you can. If they aren't grabbing the Rainmaker, you gotta grab it! If they aren't inking the zone, ink it real quick then return to whatever you were doing! If they wont pass clams, pass yours to them or try to find whatever you need!

- The enemy team is lagging/I keep getting lag splatted/etc:

NOTHIN' WE CAN DO HERE... /dies It's okay to accept some matches are just unfair garbage. It's not a reflection of you as a player! This game has never been good with the connection. If it's a BS splat, accept it as is and try to shake it off. Be wary of your approach when it comes to laggy players! Don't engage them repeatedly out of anger because they may have the unfair advantage. Plan accordingly!

if i was kusuke which thank god im not but if i was i would make a far better limiter than he did. like god its so impractical. easily removed by accident? easily broken. not reinforced. no DIALS. no BACK UPS OR FAIL-SAFES

kusuo is like a nuclear bomb, you gotta make sure you know exactly how to keep it (saiki) from accidentally disarming itself (broken limiters)

kusuke just seems like he would fuck around just to find out.

but if i were to make it the biggest thing i would add is a dial. specifically one that can control the intensity of the limiters. usually kusuo has an all or nothing when it comes to his powers. if he could control the output of it it might actually give him a way to learn how to control himself better with less and less intensity set on the limiters.

he could baby step his way from learning to throw a ball when his limiter is to the max, then again and again at every level the limiter has.

also i agree w some people saying it should be near his ears. maybe a patch just behind his ear or a weird earring or a device that looks kind of like a hearing aid or a weird tech thing that covers one of his ears

Id like to imagine that through Saiki's habit of playing cheap and uncommon games hes actually got a small collection of hidden gems and I want to imagine if he wanted to use the internet for once he could actually run a blog that he can type out his thoughts on games that nobody knows. He is a pretty fair but strict reviewer and comments on everything from the fluidity of the gameplay to the menu layouts and even the stylization of the graphics.

It backfires when someone actually finds his blog, even if its anonymous, and the word spreads about this guy who knows the best of the unheard games and has a knack to be extremely detailed in reviews.

He becomes a little bit of a niche internet celebrity and people spam his blog or email with suggestions of their own favorite hidden gems to review and some even ask for his opinion on more popular games. His blog becomes a reputable review source where indie developers want his attention to get their game out there.

Suddenly developers reach out to him offering to give him a free early copy to review their games and eventually he starts recording no or little commentary gameplay footage and he gets more and more requests.

He gets sponsored after a while. He makes a modest bit just from his blog and his videos and he wants to be annoyed at the attention but he enjoys the anonymity and people genuinely listening to his opinion.

Anyway i just want to think that kaidou or someone someday brings up saikis blog like oh yeah ive been reading this guy he does great reviews on indie games and saiki just smiles.

To the new players on Splatoon 3!

For any battle type:

Always remember to booyah back! this means at the start of the round when a player on your team presses booyah, say booyah too! it lets old players know youre communicative and pay attention to your teammates. Its friendly. Its polite. Its honestly gonna make the whole game more enjoyable if you can use the little bit of communication there is.

theres no in game chat function so booyah and this way are the best way to let your team know what's up! booyah when your teammate did something cool! its a morale booster

plan your specials around your teammates. is your special better for support or slaying? check to see if there is already a cooler up if u have it, cus the effects do not stack. and in salmon run specials can be what saves the whole team!!

check your map! not only does it show the current ink coverage, it also shows enemy players if they have taken damage even without being marked. you can jump back to spawn if things seem dangerous and you can jump to teammates. keep in mind that teammates might not be in a safe position for you to land in. anyone can see where you will land and can try to jump kill you. knowing the map itself for good jump points and seeing if the teammate is in a well inked area helps.

Ink spawn. Always. Dont think it applies to X mode? It does. Even in anarchy battles (which splat 2 players might still call ranked out of habit) you should ink spawn. Why? multiple reasons! It keeps your base safer than not. helps maneuverability in getting back in. It helps build your special, which can be incredibly useful for a push. generally speaking, an inked base is a happy base. EDIT: I dont mean ink spawn immediately for anarchy battle, the first push is critical! Use the spawn for free specials to push when you're behind! And dont be thorough in anarchy battle either, prioritize the objective over turf inked unless you have a very good reason otherwise. the movement is also more for a path back to spawn than anything. having escape routes is important.

For turf war:

Inking ground takes priority over killing. Yes if they are dead they cant ink but the respawn time is pretty fast, about 5 to 7 seconds. Also, inking builds special. it is the only way you build special. kills do not build your special. Inked ground both gives a tiny amount of damage to the enemy when they step on it, AND gives you more coverage, AND gives you quicker escape options, AND is the deciding factor of winning the game.

Walls do not count towards points. Only ground. Inking walls isnt useless though, but don't think that inking them all will help you win, its more for maneuverability.

Last second bombs can decide a match. If you have a sub to throw and there is roughly one or two seconds left on the clock, throw it no hesitation. after the match time is over, it will still pause for a second to allow all subs and specials that were out at the last second to explode.

Hide in ink. This should be self explanatory. You aren't as visible if you are submerged in ink and you are faster in ink than walking. if you hide while an enemy player is nearby, and they dont think to check whatever puddle youre in, you could get a sneak attack. another point to focus on inking!

For salmon run:

Learn to squid party! its just jumping and changing in and out of squid to inkling (or octopus to octoling) form very fast so u kinda look like a blob. it might be frowned upon to squid party in other modes but this is totally fine and encouraged!

Pay attention to your teammates positions. Dead teammates cannot help more than sit there and hold a single egg. throw a bomb or shoot at them to revive them. they take priority over eggs in most cases.

Use this way liberally. This way points towards where youre looking. Use it to say hey theres a boss here.

LISTEN TO TEAMMATES. if someone says help or this way go to them. its worth it. they know what theyre doing. usually.

Losing on wave 3 doesnt lower pay grade. It sucks to lose but wave 3 sucks slightly less to lose on.

yes because i can ink other players, see their ink,superjump to my teammates, throw bombs other people can see, jump into the water, yell booyah that can see can hear and whatever else in the lobby, right? oh wait, no i cant.

so I came back after finishing house of the dragon and- what was that finale?! there's gotta be another episode bc it's too open-ended! and ohmygod how do I even sum it up? death, incest, brutality, did I mention incest? there's a lot of it. and then, unexpectedly, a foot fetish. so um. I think compared to got it was more focused on the family arrangements (marriage knows no boundaries for them) than on external conflict. kinda makes sense tho. & could you tell me what's different in the book?

AHAH I think it was the best place to end the season mainly cuz well what happens next will require AT LEAST another 10 episodes, but I KNOW massive cliffhanger. And yeah it very much is a family drama but the next part (part 2 I will call it) is very war centric SO be ready

NOW I will attempt to answer about book stuff since I read it recent-ish, however I am a goldfish so I probably forgot some things!!

Spoilers for House of The Dragon ahead (you have been warned) I will try my best not to spoil the events that I know will happen in S2 tho!!!

Let's start with the obvious, Laenor doesn't actually live he dies.

Rhaenerya's husband does not sail away with his lover and live happy ever after </3 his lover actually kills him during an argument OOF but I can see why they didn't want to kill the only LGBT character in the show so that does make sense. Lore wise though, if he is alive I don't think hus dragon should be able to bond to anyone else? But in the story I can confirm his dragon does accept a new rider so I don't know how they will get around that? Even so it's nice that they gave him a kiiiiiiind of happy ending (even though he's been exiled pretty much). Daemon and Rhaenerya do also marry one another EUGH, and I think it is a little soon after Laenor's death so:

Brings me onto my next point, Laena actually dies before Laenor.

I might be remembering this COMPLETELY wrong but I am pretty sure in the book, Laena dies before he does (OK I just reread this and I am right BOOYAH). Rhaenerya is also present during this time, as she is really good friends with Laena (they agree to marry their kids to one another at this point whilst Laena still lives). To be honest I think the show does a real injustice to Laena and her character and doesn't spend enough time on her, which is a shame especially also because the actress playing her was WOC, and they should have given her the same love and attention they did to Rhaenerya imo!!!!

Daemon was also very VERY in love with Laena.

The maester in the book does say that Daemon potentially married Laena to secure his own place in the lineage (with a powerful family closely linked to the Velaryons) BUT Daemon goes out of his way to marry Laena, he basically duels and kills the man she is previously engaged to, to win her heart. When Laena is dying he ensures they fetch her a more competent Maester with more experience, and he doesn't shack up with Rhaenerya at his wife's funeral?? (They actual get married 6 months later) AHAHA. As well as this, they also travel across the sea together and honeymoon for years SO YEAH I don't understand why the show didn't dedicate time to Daemon X Laena, they were very much in love and it's sad to see they glossed over it.

The child fight where Aemond loses his eye:

This part pissed me off, as it made Aemond seem so much more, idk, EVIL. I know they wanted to set him up as a villain, and make no mistake HE IS a villain, but at this point in the book he is actually just a child, who wants a cool ass dragon?? And Vhagar just happens to be the baddest bitch of them all. (This is my interpretation of it of course) but always in history Targaryan who can tame a dragon, has right to become a rider. There's never been any sentiment in the book like 'nooo that dragon belongs to me' the dragon always goes to who ever is brave enough to ride it. And that's exactly what Aemond does. Laena's daughters ARE NOT EVEN THERE during the child fight, & Joff starts the fight tbh. Joff spots Aemond trying to ride Vhagar, he tells him to stay away (and like why... it's not his dragon either??? He rides Tyraxes), and Aemond flies off. BY THE TIME AEMOND lands, Joff has gathered his brothers Luke and Jace and THEY JUMP HIM

They pummel him with wooden swords appantly (Aemond IS older by the way but there's three of them and I THEY DID START IT) and then Aemond makes a joke about them being Strongs (lmao) then Jace and Aemond fight (Aemond IS whaling on Jace tbf) but then LUKE FUCKING PULLS OUT A REAL ASS DAGGER AND CUTS OUT AEMONDS EYE OUT??? I'm sorry but, they make Aemond out to be such a bad kid over this and I don't even know why?? He only gets super evil later if I'm perfectly honest with you.

Aegon does marry Heleana, and he allegedly fathers bastards

You know that scene where Alicent confronts him about him assaulting a maid? That doesn't happen in the book, but I can see why they added it, mainly because Aegon is also a villain yeah. Also seems like something Alicent would have covered up.

Now for what annoys me, The show made Alicent seem unaware.

Alicent is VERY much aware of the fight for the throne, and she is very much involved. She does not attempt to fix the relationship of her and Rhaenerya at all. She does not misinterpret Viserys last words (she isn't even there to hear them, he dies alone and a servant finds his body) she has been plotting to overthrow Rhaenerya for months. THE MOMENT Viserys dies, this bitch is ready to GO and I think it is very much her idea. The show doesn't seem to want her to have accountability at all. They make it seem like an innocent mistake she made but that's not the case. After that, her meeting the Council all happens and stuff so that part is true at least in the show, but make no mistake book Alicent is guilty <3

One kid, Daeron, just doesn't appear at all in the show?

I don't know why they don't even at least mention him (or maybe I missed it?) But Alicent and Viserys have a fourth son named Daeron and he is kind of a big deal later (more so in part 2 tbf but yeah I think their audience for Season 2 will get confused because of this).

BONUS: To prove I'm not a complete Aemond apologist:

HE DOES start the fight later when he sees Luke at Storm's End, and he does ask to have Luke's eye out in revenge <3 LMAO The show inteprets Aemond as not having control over Vhagar... but I don't agree with that. He controls that dragon perfectly well in every battle he's in LOL, so I think they should have shown Aemond killing Luke maybe not INTENTIONALLY but also like him taking it too far and purposefully killing Luke yeah. In fact in the book I think we can even interpret it as him pruposefully killing them (but also no one knows for sure what took place during that battle so it's kind of open). It is a really important scene though, as it's the first bloodshed and it's a child </3 I won't say what happens next though... as it might come up in Season 2 but Daemon and Rhaenerya get revenge for this.

EDIT: minor things:

- Rhaenys should have black hair, she has Baratheon blood.

- Viserys in the show is SO MUCH BETTER and way more fleshed out.

- Daemon isn’t actually confirmed to have killed his previous wife.

- the foot fetish doesn’t happen but honestly I liked that AHAHA it was funny

Running on Empty

This week was a pretty slow one, but what happened?

Tuesday Meeko Neko tried to fix my computer speakers, and the conclusion we came to was that I need a new computer. So we'll put that on the back burner for now.

Wednesday I started talking to a guy, we'll call him Booyah. He's 26, married (his wife is bonkers adorable), plays a lot of tabletop games and stuff. We've been working on setting up a date when schedules allow, but it seems like we're both pretty open to friendship or whatever else.

Thursday night Meeko Neko tried to fix my sink, to no avail. Aquaman came over to my new place for the first time. He was sleepy, as usual, but brought me McDonald's, and we watched Futurama and cuddled for a while. He's way overworked lately and I hate that there's nothing I can do except be cute and cuddly when requested.

Friday my precious Cuddlebug came and picked me up. He's been working really hard lately at this new job, so once we got to his house we plopped down on the bed and next thing I knew, it was 4 hours later.

Good nappers, both of us.

A quick Kroger run, then I made myself some ramen and we picked up where we left off with Better Call Saul.

Saturday I slept in late, and then I made us pancakes, eggs, and bacon, which we watched while we finished Rick & Morty, I believe? The plan for the day was to have two other couples come over for a movie marathon - he even did the dishes. The first couple bailed on movies but still wanted to do dinner, and the second couple didn't show up until after 6. So we opted to do dinner first.

Cuddlebug finally got to take me to this Chinese place he's been dying for me to try - they're closed on Mondays, and I swear it's like his two little brain cells are saying "I know there's something about this place and Mondays..." so he only ever suggests we go there on Mondays.

Relatedly, when I asked him what all he wanted to do over the weekend -

CB: I was thinking about going to that bakery Saturday or Sunday. ... Except maybe they're closed Sunday.

Me: Baby! You had a thought!

And they are closed on Sunday; we did not go to the bakery.

On the way to dinner, we were trying to decide what movies we wanted to watch, and he was lobbying hard for the Dark Knight trilogy, because apparently they're some of his favorite movies. I said yes, and I looked over at him in the backseat a bit later to see him bouncing his legs up and down and going "nana-nana-nana-nana Batman!" under his breath.

Jesus, he's so cute.

"Have you seen the movies?"

EXCUSE ME, child. The Dark Knight came out when I was in high school; nothing was a bigger deal. I went to the midnight showing at the mall with a guy I was unfortunately sleeping with, we waited in line for 5 hours, one of my contacts fell out, I threw up when I got home. It was amazing.

Dinner was really good. Cuddlebug's friends had a fun time getting him all riled up, which is not super difficult to do, but is much easier when he's excited.

Once we got home we started Batman Begins, and about an hour into it I went to change into pajamas and I thought "Oh, I'll just lie down on the bed for a minute. If I keep the door open I can still hear the movie," and Cuddlebug woke me up about an hour and a half later. I apologized, and he told me not to worry, to go back to sleep. Apparently the other couple had left to run an errand and hadn't come back yet, so he wanted to play some video games in the meantime. We did end up finishing the movie a while later.

Sunday we watched some more Better Call Saul (I swear that show is SO GOOD at cliffhangers) and then we watched The Dark Knight. Then Space Kitten came by and we hung out for a bit, then went to eat a very lot of sushi. We got to see the sushi waiter robot, which is the highlight of any trip, and agreed that this place needs more eel rolls.

Monday Cuddlebug woke up early to go to work, and I hung around the house being bored.

Now, to preface this, I had previously had this conversation with him

Me: I want to either make one of the burgers from my Bob's Burgers cookbook, or do like a Cajun shrimp and sausage thing. For you this weekend.

CB: Ooooo I'd love some burgers:333

Me: Cool

But when I went to Kroger they didn't have the cheese I needed for the burgers, so I just got the stuff for the Cajun thing - it was a sheet pan bake with shrimp, sausage, corn on the cob, and red potatoes. And I didn't say anything about it.

So when he told me he was on his way home, I told him I was going to start dinner. And when he came in, I let him know it was ready. So he opens the top oven and looks at the pan, then closes it, and opens the bottom oven (yes, they have two ovens; I'm jealous). I said "What are you looking for?" and he said "The other dinner."

And I know sometimes I pout to be cute, but my face seriously dropped. He was immediately apologetic! I guess what happened was that he saw the corn and potatoes but not the sausage and shrimp, so he thought it was a side dish for the burgers I was going to make? In any case, he ate plenty of it, and there was a good amount for leftovers the next day.

Tuesday morning Cuddlebug woke up super early to go to work, and came home after I had started watching Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness in the living room, so he just kinda collapsed on the couch with his head on my lap, looking beat.

Me: Do you want to take a nap?

CB: No.

Me: Are you sure?

CB: Yes.

10 minutes later, he's snoring on me, and stayed that way until the movie was over.

He spent most of the evening playing 40k online with a friend, and I think I just hung out in the living room playing Animal Crossing and watching YouTube. Party people, y'know?
