Yeah, I want to ask who is Edgar, Vargas, Scriabin, and the boy in your latest comic? I believed that this is/was a bog about the Handplates AU.

Edgar and Squee are from an indie 90s comic called Johnny the Homicidal Maniac by Jhonen Vasquez! Although really, most of the stuff I draw with them is from a fic I’m writing called Vargas, which is also where Scriabin comes from.

This blog is for anything I feel like posting, it doesn’t really have any kind of unifying theme other than whatever I’m interested in drawing/writing/creating at the time. Sometimes it’s Handplates or Undertale in general, sometimes it’s Vargas, or L4D OCs, or Ace Attorney, or Half-Life, or Mother 3, or any number of the many many fandoms I’ve gone in and out of over the years. If you just want Handplates stuff, you can follow it on comicfury, or look in the Deviantart folder for all the little side comics and such, or just only look at the handplates tag on here.

Would DeltaRune Chapter 2's Cyber-Queen happen to be Lancer's mother, by any chance? I was hoping to see more of Jevil in Chapter 2, I was disappointed. If we players ever do get to see DeltaRune Papyrus, he might be so different than the Undertale version of him. He could be a 12 year old skinny eyeglasses wearing nerd.

I do think Queen is Lancer's mom, or GirlDad. She knows Spade King, and she did say she would take care of Lancer because she is his mother.

It was left kinda ambiguous at the end, but Lancer and Spade King both accepted her as Lancer's new parent regardless, so yeah she's Lancer's mom.

Also off topic, but Lancer keeps collecting parents who are blue. I wouldn't be surprised if Sans ended up on the list later, either as Lancer's brother or uncle or Lazy Dad.

And yeah no Jevil :/

Spamton mentions clowns in his dialogue, so at least we got a few Jevil references. I hope the secret bosses do become recurring characters later on though. It seems like a waste since they're connected to Gaster. The items they drop might become more relevant later on in the story.

Jevil's speech about the Queen returning was also correct.. I didn't think he literally meant a Darkner called Queen though ff.

I don't really expect Papyrus to be the same as his UT self since everyone (besides Sans) has changed. Papyrus has also been inside his house for two days in a row. He seems less physically active than his Undertale counterpart (or maybe he's busy moving boxes).

But I am in deniallll of Papyrus being a preteen. Especially with most of the Undertale cast being aged up. I'm more leaning on him being a teenager since Deltarune is possibly a prequel to UT. I know its definitely, definitely possible Papyrus is a preteen. . . but then idk why Sans would want Kris to befriend his brother when there's other monsters in Papyrus's age range.

In all this time, has Our Ciel or Real Ciel met, or have been introduced to their grandparents? Where are the grandparents? Are children as familiar with their grandparents in the Victorian era, as they are in the modern era?

The grandparents

Claudia/Cloudia died in 1866, about 9.5yrs before the twins were born. I think the twins have met their paternal grandfather, but they don’t know it’s him... since I believe Cedric K. Ros— is Undertaker. Our earl definitely doesn’t know it, and I don’t think real Ciel does either... considering how he asks Undertaker to be his butler... and calls Undertaker “useless” for not knowing how to run an estate.

Rachel’s parents seem to exist only as the parents of Rachel and Angelina... and as an explanation for how the girls inherited their hair colors. We have no idea if the twins met their maternal grandparents. Possibly when the twins were very young, but it might not be important to the story.

There’s a good chance that Rachel’s parents are gone. Otherwise, you might expect them to pop up from time to time. They might have had Rachel and Angelina a bit later in life (hard to tell from what little we see); they might have had poor health. 🤷🏻‍♀️ Life expectancy wasn’t terribly high then, and we don’t know what their lives were like.

Were they even in the peerage? Both girls might have married “up”. Baron is the lowest title, and earl is two steps up. If they were not in the peerage, they might have kept to themselves and simply felt pleased with their accomplishment to marry their daughters into noble families.

Ch10 is the only time we see the person who is supposed to be Rachel’s father. He had arranged to introduce both of the girls to Vincent Phantomhive, meaning Rachel didn’t introduce Vincent to her parents... which suggests that their father was looking to marry his daughters “up” in society. It was common to marry the daughters off in order of birth, but Angelina apparently thought she had a chance, once Vincent gave her a compliment.

Hard to tell from the panel, but he’s supposed to have red hair, like Angelina. Their mother has never been shown, we just know that Rachel takes after her appearance.

The only clue that we might have about their status in society is they must have servants, and the servants call Angelina “Lady”.

Perhaps their father was a Baron or Viscount. But it was possible to have servants even if you were not in the peerage. Take a merchant like Harold West into consideration.

We know their parents both lived long enough for Angelina to get her medical license, but only because she did so against their wishes.

This would have been even more looked down upon if they were in the peerage, but they could have been against their daughter becoming a doctor, either way.

I’m not sure whether they had ever intended to marry her off, like they did Rachel, but she did end up marrying a man of her own choosing. We don’t know whether her parents were still alive by then. Perhaps not. If they were alive, they were probably just happy to see her married at all.

But I’m getting off on a tangent.

TL/DR:

If the twins ever met their maternal grandparents, we will likely never know, and we are to assume it’s unimportant.

They couldn’t meet their paternal grandmother... in her lifetime.... 👀

But I think they interact quite frequently with their paternal grandfather... and they just don’t know it.

I suspect we’ll get to see what they’re up to after Bard’s investigation in the sanatorium is over. But if Bard’s current case takes as long as Mey-Rin’s it might take a while before we see Finny and Snake again. ;^^

Would any of the Sans aus let a human pick them up?

Undertale Sans: Absolutely would, if he knew the human well enough for them to pass the affectionately named Judgement Zone. Will fall asleep in .02 seconds, however.

Underswap Sans: He won’t exactly stop you, but it’s the equivalent to holding a six year old child who just discovered what energy drinks were. Only for the brave.

Underfell Sans: A select group can pick him up, but he needs to trust you first. Surprisingly the clingiest, so if you’re in that group and pick him up prepare to do basically nothing else for the rest of the day.

Swapfell Sans: Anyone can, but he will have you carry him place to place like a spoiled prince doing his duties on a palanquin until he is done being held. Proceed with caution.

Horrortale Sans: Only Papyrus and extremely close individuals have permission to hold him, but once you unlock the special title he’s actually surprisingly warm and comfy to hold. Just mind the sharp parts of the hole in his skull and you’re golden.

Outertale Sans: In a similar situation to Berry, Outer won’t stop you, but he falls asleep easily, and once he falls asleep he tends to float off through the air like a helium balloon. Be very aware of that, he has woken up several feet in the air before and it was not a pleasant awakening.

Naia and Tavra swear at the drop of a hat (Tavra hanging out with the Sifa (and Onica) might be the reason for that).

Rian and Gurjin swear casually, especially when they’re around each other. 

Seladon will occasionally say a very silent “fuck” when she’s alone. 

Brea has a whole encyclopedia on swear words and she tries to find any opportunity to use them.

Kylan only swears once. It’s abrupt, loud, and everyone is shocked that he could even swear.

Deet is forbidden to swear. Same for Hup, but no law can stop Hup.

I thought about more ships with UT Papyrus, would they have names? - x HT Papyrus, x StoryShift Papyrus, x Lusttale Sans, x Lusttale Papyrus, x Mafiatale Papyrus, x Gaster Sans, and x Gaster Papyrus

Well... I didn't really see anything specific about these couples before, whether in arts or fics, so I don't know if there is an official name for these ships, but I'll give you a suggestion of how I would name it.

I think the simplest thing would be to put only the AU with the "X" (as you did yourself - HT! PapyrusxUT! Papyrus), but another option would be to join the skeletons' nicknames with some of the suffixes used to identify UT! Papyrus.

UT! Papyrus is usually called "puff" or "blossom", but some authors give their own nicknames like Classic, Cream, etc. (I never understood why we don't use "spaghetti" to name it, especially when more than half of the skeletons are nicknamed after foods like honey, ketchup, blueberry, cherry, bbq ...).

For example, Papyrus from Underlust is usually called Pink so it would look like pinkblossom, pinkpuff or pinkcream.

Underlust Sans is called Lust, so it would either simply be UL!SansxUT!Papyrus or something like lustblossom, lustpuff, or lustcream (although I would love to call it spaghettilust).

The same goes for HT!Papyrus which is usually called Sugar or Crooks.

The Storyshift Papyrus, if I'm not mistaken, is called Poppy (at least in the few arts and fics I saw with this Papyrus in particular).

Now as for Mafiatale and the Gaster Sans and Gaster Papyrus... I never saw a specific nickname for them.

Usually Gaster Sans is just called G and Gaster Papyrus I saw being called Green (I think he has other nicknames for him, but now I just remember this one).

The brothers of the Mafia worlds, on the other hand, do not have an "official" nickname, each one who draws or writes them a nickname for themselves (they usually always have a Hit, but it varies), so I don't have a suggestion for them.

I honestly didn't see much interaction from UT! Papyrus with these other skeletons, but of course there may be some specific denomination that I don't really know.

Does Undertaker, or any other Black Butler character like puns or knock-knock jokes?

Undertaker, definitely. Though he has probably heard so many that it’s now harder to impress him.

Sebastian and our earl like “dad jokes”, including bad puns. Good example is our earl calling the tank a “moving oven” after Sebastian tosses an explosive into it. Also, Sebastian’s repeated “simply a butler” statement is a pun in Japanese.

Madam Red tells filthy jokes full of bodily humor... at least that seems to be the case. Hard to tell when it’s almost completely censored! 😂 Rachel also seems to like “blue” humor. And Vincent seems to be particularly sarcastic.

The others must have a sense of humor, too, I just don’t know as much about theirs.

Oh! Lau makes puns, but they seem to fall kind of flat. Undertaker isn’t amused.

Could you imagine if the roles of Papyrus and Undyne were reversed, and they also switched places?

Hm...

Papyrus, head of the royal guard, is known for his incredible control over his magic. He and Sans are unofficially the king’s adopted kids. He still captures the human and will not kill them in the battle. 

He knows he has to, but shouldn’t the king get the honor of killing the last human?

Pap really doesn’t want to do it.

Undyne really wants to be part of the royal guard, because it looks really cool and she wants to be a hero who helps free everyone. She helps manage the dogs and lives in Snowdin for self declared training purposes. She still actually lives in Waterfall and she’s actually just helping Sans housesit.

Sans is monitoring her progress (read: hanging out with her to avoid doing work) and they both report to Papyrus. 

Papyrus won’t let her into the guard because he thinks her magic is too wild and her possibility of killing the human while trying to capture them is too high, but doesn’t admit this because it will upset her and it’s something they can work on.

They cook so Papyrus can try to help her be more careful. And it’s a fun bonding exercise!

Sans is still a lazy sentry. Except now he has two people who want him to keep an eye on the human.

I think I spent too long on this, haha! Anyway, those are just my thoughts on it!

Did Vincent Phantomhive earn the title of Earl by himself, or did he simply inherit the title from his mother, Claudia? And for that matter, Has Claudia earned the title of female Earl by her own work, or has she also was given the title by inheritance?

The title as Earl is inherited. And the title as the Queen’s Watchdog seems bound to the title as Earl Phantomhive so it’s inherited, as well. For whatever reason, this Watchdog title seems to be only passed down through generations of the Phantomhives, no other family.

Ciel inherited the title from his father and Vincent got it from Claudia after her death. Claudia probably got it from her father, it’s not quite sure how long back that goes.

After Vincent’s death when both twins were believed to be dead no one held the title until the Queen gave it back to our Ciel when he returned.
