Full info page can be found HERE.
Isabella is a woman who has never really had any agency over herself or her life. At nineteen, her parents forced her into a loveless marriage with Viscount Richard Ashworth (a man twenty years her senior). Throughout her marriage, she spiraled into a deep despair, mercifully cut short by the viscount’s death three years later. Isabella inherited all of his wealth, finally allowing her the opportunity to do as she pleased.
Unfortunately, her freedom was not to be enjoyed without difficulty. Shortly thereafter, a rumor was passed around the ton that she had been the direct cause of her husband’s sudden death, perpetuated by Miss Harriet Woodley. Miss Woodley, angry that the viscount had chosen to marry Isabella over her, sought to destroy the new widow’s reputation. Isabella is aware of the whispers about her, but she rarely acknowledges it, and few people are courageous enough to bring it up to her themselves.
current objectives
Isabella’s main priority has always been the welfare of her two younger sisters, Georgiana and Mary Stanton. Knowing how she was treated by their parents growing up, she hopes to prevent the same from happening to her sisters. With Isabella refusing to give even a cent of her newly acquired wealth to her parents, she knows it’s only a matter of time before they try to pawn either Georgiana or Mary off on another rich man, whether the girls are willing or not.
potential grounds for interaction
Women’s Rights. Isabella is very active in the women’s rights movement brewing throughout England. She finds society’s treatment of women abhorrent, and is fairly outspoken about it, even outside of those backing her cause. She’ll attend meetings, engage in discussions, etc. and typically enjoys a good debate.
Battling Her Reputation. Because of the claims made by Harriet Woodley (and made seemingly more credible by Isabella’s lack of grief and shortened mourning period in the wake of her husband’s death), it’s not unusual for the ton to whisper about her behind their hands, debating the methods in which she dispatched the poor viscount. This hit to her reputation can affect many of her interactions with the people around her, and may be a good starting point for conversation/conflict.
Protective Older Sister. As mentioned previously, Isabella’s main goal is preventing her sisters from enduring what she has experienced over the years. She is completely estranged from her parents, meaning that she has no hopes of talking sense into them. She also discovers that they are doing everything in their power to keep Georgiana and Mary from interacting with their sister, citing her tarnished reputation as the reason. Though she hates public events, she often attends them (she continues to receive invites because extreme wealth makes others fickle) in an attempt to keep an eye on her parents and circumvent any attempts at matchmaking for her sisters.
Finally Free. Because Isabella is often straddling the line between being accepted by the ton and being ostracized, she's more willing to throw caution to the wind when it comes to acquaintances that may seem improper by society’s standards. This could include anything from tradesmen and servants to ‘fallen women’ and disgraced society. If she’s going to face the effects of rumors on her reputation, she may as well get all she can out of it.
Anti-Marriage. As a girl, Isabella always viewed marriage as something of a fairytale. When she married Lord Ashworth, that notion was decimated. Though she rarely talks about the details of her marriage to Ashworth, it’s safe to assume that he was often unkind to her. More than that, she had hoped that marrying might someday give her a bit of liberation from the control she’d dealt with at her parents’ hands; instead, the control was merely shifted to her husband. Now, as a widow, Isabella’s views of marriage are distinctly negative. She has no intentions of marrying again, although it would be interesting to see whether that changes if love ever comes around.

every so often i just think about how good it was that the most foolproof one-size-fits-all solution for dealing with basically any horrifyingly evil supernatural monster of the week in the magnus archives was just. burying them in concrete. like yeah i can believe that a few tons of grey brutalist slop would stop the wolfman or pretty much anything in its tracks to be honest. they use that shit on nuclear waste. do you honestly think you're stronger than a nuke? a fucking nuke?

the funniest part of any Robin meeting the JL is that every Robin is so distinctly different from the previous one in terms of personality and vibes that the league literally gets backlash. and like, I don't blame them. not to mention that they are non-meta children that dress as a traffic light and fight crime alongside batman in gotham on a nightly basis. i'd also be a bit concerned.
Batman, literally The Night of Gotham personified in the League's eyes, coming into a JL meeting: This is Robin, my crime-fighting partner.
11-year-old Dick Grayson, dressed in the brightest primary colours possible, vaguely hidden murder behind those eyes, never stops moving even for a moment: Hi!
Superman: That's a child. That's-- Bats that is a child. You let a child--?
Batman, deadpan: You try to stop him. Would you rather he try and murder a grown man with a wire?
Batman: This is Robin.
12-year-old Jason Todd, with the biggest grin on his face, about 3 books in his hand, stars in his eyes and a distinct street-kid drawl: Hey!!!
Green Lantern: That's ... that's a different child. What??
Jason: I stole his tires :)
Batman: Tried to.
Jason, stage whispering to the League: basically did.
Green Lantern: that is a different kid, right?? I'm not seeing shit??
Batman: This is Robin.
14-year-old Tim Drake, bo staff clutched in his hand, a wary and tired expression on his face, more on the quiet side, the literal walking definition of don't judge a book by it's cover: hello
Flash: Where do you even find these--
Tim: I found myself.
Batman: This is Robin.
17-year-old Stephanie Brown, literally blonde, with a shit-eating grin, eyes full of nothing but mischief and the most explosive personality you've ever seen: hiya!!
Superman: I give up.
Stephanie: I know, I have that amazing effect on people.
Batman: This is Robin.
13-year-old Damian Wayne, a literal wet cat that will hiss at you, has a sword, the most judgemental stare you'll get from a teenager, ready to jump anyone there:
Green Lantern: WHY DOES HE HAVE A SWORD?!
Batman: ... he came with the sword.
