Someone found my Papers Please fan/RP blog from ages ago and sent me anons?
I’m surprised, but at the same time I am not one to refuse an ask!
My answers will come with time.  It’s been a long while since I was so deep into this game’s lore.  (And I’ll be honest, I made up a good 90-95 percent of my world building for it.)

a humiliatingly long character analysis of lily evans
Someone sent me an ask that briefly mentioned how misunderstood Lily is, and before I knew it I was typing out this monster. I am. sorry. This is literally just me rambling about her, what I find compelling about her character, and why her character is so often misunderstood.
This is long as hell so I'm putting it under a read more lolol
Part of the reason I like Lily so much (other than my being ginger and projecting onto any redheaded female character I see) is that even though she isn’t explored as much as her other Marauders Era counterparts, we know enough about her to start building the framework for her character. And what I see is a girl who was incredibly interesting, kind, and flawed.
One thing I always think about in regards to Lily is that she was dealt with a pretty unfair hand. As soon as she receives her letter, she’s basically torn between two worlds, both of which have been less than welcome to her. On one hand, we have the muggle world that she’s known all her life, but once she starts integrating into the wizarding world, she likely feels a bit of a disconnect with that world. To twist the knife further, her sister- whom she loved dearly and grew up so close with- starts outwardly resenting her with such unbridled hostility that they likely couldn’t even be in a room alone together without major conflict.
On the other hand, we have the wizarding world– a world she’s not as familiar with and one she soon learns holds a demographic of people who hate everything she is and would rather see her excommunicated or even dead. And even though finding out you’re a witch/wizard is probably such an exciting and life-changing moment, I can’t help but also take note of the difficulties, especially if you’re the only one in your family with magic. You’re essentially uprooted from the only way of life you’ve known at an already complicated age, and now you have to quickly become acclimated to this new world that you only just found out existed. Not only that, but now you’re suddenly attending a school with classes that are primarily focused on this world of magic (which is still brand new to you), and you have to work extra hard to play catch up in order to do well. Like, that all seems like… a lot for a kid to handle.
And then I remember how young she was when she was thrown into that mess. She was only 11, and kids that age desperately crave any sense of belonging. I mean, that’s something that still holds true for adults, but it’s especially critical for a developing child. So imagine Lily, ages 11-15, struggling to stay afloat in this weird purgatory between these two parts of herself, both of which have been the cause for major and traumatic experiences relating to rejection in her life.
(I say it was the “cause” even though it’s obvious that those things were never her fault at all, but when you’re a young kid navigating the world, the only thing you’re able to process is that the common denominator is you, therefore you’re the one who must shoulder the blame.)
So now we have this tween-teenaged girl who has a dysfunctional relationship with two major parts of identity and probably feels absolutely lost.
This is why her hesitancy to end her friendship with Snape makes sense to me. Even though by fifth year he’s already well past toeing the line with the dark arts, Lily was willing to overlook some pretty egregious and troubling things in order to maintain the relationship. I kind of interpret that as her way of desperately clinging on to any sense of belonging she has left; her relationship with Petunia has already been poisoned, and now there are people who resent her existence as a witch; if she loses Severus too, what and who else does she have? And what tone does that set for her, if everyone and everything she’s come to hold close to her ends up turning her away?
It’s also important to note that not only is Severus one of her few remaining connections to the muggle world, but he’s also a wizard who grew up in the muggle world; he understands her, and I don’t doubt that he gave her some stability at times when she needed it (her finding out about her being a witch, her having trouble acclimating to the wizarding world, etc).
I see this as being one of her flaws and I can actually appreciate how relatable and realistic it feels. Lily is not a bad person; on the contrary, you’d be hard pressed to find anyone to describe her as such. Not to get all clinical and boring, but the interesting thing about (unhealthy) coping mechanisms is that it can actually be really hard to identify them in your own behavior. Unless you’re in therapy and/or are actively psychoanalyzing yourself, you likely don’t even realize how many of your common behaviors are born from self defense mechanisms put in place by your brain after past events.
To me, it makes sense why she avoided actually confronting the idea that Snape was too far gone. We know that she was aware of the path Severus was taking, but it almost seems like she was still convinced that she could save him, and could possibly steer him back in the right direction. It’s only when she becomes the target of his bigotry that she realizes that the Snape who called her a ‘mudblood’ was not the same Severus who was the one who held her hand and introduced her to this new, exciting world.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In a general sense, yes, it is selfish, to only take a stand when something starts affecting you personally. But I also think it’s important to note that it’s unlikely that this was a conscious decision on Lily’s part. In my eyes, it was easier to delude herself into thinking she still had a chance to save him before it was too late when she was able to separate him from his actions (considering, a lot of the time, she was only hearing about them after the fact, rather than seeing them firsthand). But the elusion is shattered once she sees that the Snape she grew up with– her friend, Severus– is, in fact, the same person who’s out there calling other students slurs, dismissing the malicious use of Dark Magic on others as just “a laugh”. There we see a Lily who is actually revealed to have been somewhat aware of Snape’s involvement with the darker side of magic, and genuinely feels pretty ashamed about her inaction.
Tumblr media
Also, this is in no way me being a Snape-anti, and I actually could do an entire separate analysis on his character alone and why I find him so interesting.
Anyways, that moment in SWM is probably somewhat of an epiphany to her. It’s like a dam that’s been broken, and now she’s overwhelmed with the realization of exactly how much she overlooked in order to keep their friendship afloat. And for someone like Lily Evans, someone whom we know is opinionated and unafraid to call others out on their bullshit, that can be hard to swallow and feel pretty mortifying and shameful. And I think this was a huge turning point for her- at that point, she doesn’t have the luxury of avoiding uncomfortable truths anymore and now that she’s getting closer to graduating and being thrown out into the world on the brink of war, this was probably a really sobering discovery.
This is where we don’t have as much info to go off of, and a lot of it is up to interpretation. But we actually have little crumbs to go off of following her graduation and leading up to her death.
One of my favorite little tidbits isn’t in the books, and @seriousbrat's post reminded me about it. Here's the actual entry on Pottermore for anyone who's interested, but I'll summarize: after James and Lily began dating, Lily brings James to meet newly engaged Petunia and Vernon. Everything goes downhill, because Vernon is a smarmy asshole, and James is still pretty immature and can’t help but mess with him (which… fair, I guess). Petunia and Vernon storm out after Petunia letting Lily know that she had no intentions of having her as a bridesmaid, which causes Lily to break down into tears. I mention this because I also think it’s a pretty important aspect of her character; like we’ve seen in her past friendship with Snape, Lily seems more than willing to forgive others most of the time. Petunia is a bit of a complicated character herself, but she was objectively very cruel and unfair to Lily once it became obvious that she was a witch and Petunia was not.
Tumblr media
Something that always stands out to me is just how desperate Lily is to earn Petunia’s trust and approval again. Even up until her death, she was more than willing to mend the relationship, were Petunia ever to consider.
This is a detail about Lily that I feel is misunderstood quite a bit. I’ve seen a lot of instances of her character being reduced to a one-dimensional archetype with little to no complexity. And often, that archetype is “know-it-all, prudish, self righteous bookworm who is also a goody two-shoes with a stick up her ass”. What annoys me is that the reason for this is most definitely the scene in which she blows up at James in SWM for bullying Snape, and hurls quite a few insults at him directly after an extremely devastating and overwhelming situation for her. This frustrates me because we know for a fact that she’s the polar opposite of this archetype I’ve seen her reduced to.
Tumblr media
In actuality, she’s referred to as popular, charming, witty, bright and kind. From flashbacks we also are shown that she’s opinionated, bold, and not afraid to challenge others. With other context, like her interpersonal relationships, we can also see that she’s pretty emotionally driven and wears her heart on her sleeve.
(I know Remus didn’t mention Lily much in the books, but I really love how he described her in the movies. He tells Harry that the first thing he noticed about him was not his striking resemblance to his father, but his eyes, the same eyes Lily had. He also calls her a “singularly gifted witch” and an “uncommonly kind woman”.
“She had a way of seeing the beauty in others, even and perhaps most especially, when that person could not see it in themselves.”
I know there are mixed feelings on whether or not the films count as canon source material, so take it with a grain of salt, but I personally cannot see a world in which Lily and Remus didn’t become close friends.)
Here we have a direct description of what she was like and who she was, corroborated by recounting of memories of her, and yet for some reason, this feels like the thing that is most commonly lost in translation.
I don’t think I can say why I think that is without mentioning the dreaded M word (misogyny- it’s misogyny), but I also don’t want to get too off topic so I’ll be brief: female characters are typically not given the same grace as male characters. When we have an undeveloped male character, he’s awarded the assumption that despite his lack of depth, there still exists a complex and multifaceted character– it’s merely just potential that hasn’t been tapped into. Whereas when we have underdeveloped female characters, they are taken at face value, meaning that not much exists beyond the little information we have of them. They are not presumed to have a life or a story that exists beyond the surface of what we know like male characters are. That’s why I think characters like Regulus, Evan, or Barty (just to name a few) are more popular than Lily, despite being less developed than she is.
(Before anyone gets defensive, no, I don’t think it’s an individual problem that you alone need to be shamed for. I think it’s the result of a deeper issue regarding misogyny in media as a concept; these are things that we’ve all unknowingly internalized and while it’s not our fault, we still have to do the work to deconstruct those learned prejudices.)
What I find really cool about her character is that despite how much she’s been hurt, she’s also still known as one of the most loving, kind, and considerate characters. There were so many times in her life where the love she received was conditional and ripped away from her– and I think that’s what makes her sacrifice even more poignant. She was able to protect her infant son from an extremely powerful dark wizard, wand-less, knowing that her husband was just murdered in cold blood, just from how much love she felt for Harry. Her love was a force of nature on its own, and I just think that’s such an amazing thing about her.
I know I’m biased, given that she’s one of my favorite characters, but even upon delving into this, I still just find it so incredibly hard to understand how anyone can actively hate her (not indifference, but actual dislike). In my opinion (again, no one is unbiased, and she is a favorite character of mine, but trust me when I say that I’m trying to be objective as possible when I say this), she’s probably one of the most likable characters of the Marauders Era. I think perhaps a lot of people haven’t given her a chance or really taken the time to learn about her character, but it could be a myriad of other reasons that I’ll never understand.
There's so much more I could say but this is long enough and I will stop myself
Lily Evans, u will always be famous to me

hi betts! i was wondering if you would be willing to explain a little further about the third thing in a concept you spoke about in the feb '22 issue of lkwrnl? would you describe it as an unexpected conflict? i'm just not sure i've wrapped my head around it! thanks! :]
sure! "third thing" is really not a great term for it and i wish i'd thought of a better one before writing that newsletter. sometimes i use the phrase "initial escalation." an initial escalation is something that elevates or complicates the conflict just as the audience is getting grounded in the story.
my definition of a conflict is "establishing a status quo, and something happens to interrupt the status quo." the third thing/initial escalation is, "something happens to complicate the interruption of the status quo."
here is a very simplistic/ridiculous example:
you have the protagonist, let's say a hero, driving the forward movement of the story. you then have the antagonist, a villain, pushing against that forward movement and slowing it down.
a hero getting to their destination without any obstacles is not very interesting. a villain thwarting their efforts creates a conflict. but still, that's two things, two forces, and i can kind of predict where it's headed. that's not a bad thing. it just means i'm grounded in the story.
the third thing, the initial escalation, would be to put both of them in a burning building. this complicates our understanding of their motivations. they can no longer prioritize their primary objective; they have to work together to escape the burning building. they're suddenly allied.
now i have no idea what to expect. will the protagonist and antagonist being on the same side for a time alter the trajectory of the story? will it change decisions we predict of hero vs. villain?
note that the burning building/third thing/initial escalation is not a twist. twists happen at the end of a story. this is merely an early complication that alters the anticipated plot trajectory.
most stories don't have a third thing. many don't even have a second thing. i'm looking at my bookshelf right now to find an example and noticing how few of my books have a plot at all. and that's fine. plot isn't really necessary in telling a good story.
upon looking at my letterboxd diary, i've found an example. the last movie i watched was Poor Things. the premise is that Bella (Emma Stone) is a grown woman whose brain has been transplanted with that of a newborn infant, and so she's learning how to be a person. as she grows, she feels stifled by her "father" (Willem Dafoe) and wants to see the world. she gets her chance when a sleazy lawyer (Mark Ruffalo) offers to help her escape, in exchange for being at his mercy (but she doesn't understand that).
it's your basic princess story in the format of a bildungsroman (i did really like this movie, but i'm an easy sell on bildungsromans). it's still three things:
forward movement: Bella growing and discovering how to be a person, which is a story with its own merit
opposing force: her father keeping her safe by imprisoning her, halting her growth and desire for sex meaning
initial escalation: the lawyer sweeping her away, only to trap her too, so that she has to escape his grasp as well, and in doing so her growth, the forward movement, is happening but it's more complicated now than it would have been if she'd just walked out the door
(note: this is a VERY fucky movie, and i mean that literally. there's so much sex. like so much. truly regret seeing this with my sister.)
sometimes the escalation is in the structure of a story, like an alternative point of view or another timeline. sometimes it's an added element to a trope that subverts our expectation of how the trope plays out. anything that escalates or complicates the inciting incident in act 1 of a story is a third thing.
again i want to emphasize that there are many amazing stories that only have forward movement, especially if what's driving it is exploratory. most stories have two dimensions, and those are also perfectly good stories. the third thing only exists to escalate and complicate, and not every story needs that.

WIP Wednesday: New WIP Introduction
Writing decisions are funny. I think I'm going to make a conscious choice at some point, but that's basically never how it works. After spending some time percolating on this or that decision, I find myself having decided with all but absolute certainty already. I do consider this a part of Writer Brain, in that it seems my subconscious has worked the problem at hand while I was doing other things, which is awfully kind of it.
Anyway, this is all to say that I have decided what this year's NaNoWriMo project is going to be, and that I today plan to tell you all about it. As much as I have figured out at time of writing, at least.
My project this year will be The Artist, although I am considering vague-ing down the tittle a little bit. Perhaps The Impossibility Artist, or The Painter and The Impossible, Madness; Art or something like that. Titles are hard, but I figure I'll let this decision sit on the backburner for a little while. With a little luck, my brain will come up with something amenable all by itself.
With every project I undertake, I try to keep one particular challenge in mind. I do this because I find it useful to further my craft and also perhaps build a teensy tiny little bit of confidence in my own abilities while I'm at it. This time, I'm going to write a protagonist, a 1st person POV protagonist at that, who's not wholesome. In fact, I plan for him to be a kinda fucked up guy, maybe even a really fucked up guy on balance. I do this because it feels right for a horror novel, and I want to see if I can do it, but also because my protagonists in The Clockwork Boy are honestly little cinnamon buns and while that is cute, it's not quite what I'm looking for here.
The challenge, I figure, will be indulging in moral grey cynicism but not becoming mired in it in it. I do want both my protagonist and nominal antagonist to come out of this changed for the better. I just hate horror that ends on a note of loss and nihilism and no lessons learned by nobody, because that's just real life most of the time, and that's not fun nor engaging for me. It'll be a narrow road to thread I suspect, but my convictions wouldn't be worth much if they're not tested in the spin cycle of adversity.
I've gone a while without speaking any on what the story is about, so here it is briefly. Our (as of yet unnamed) protagonist is an art critic obsessed with a controversial contemporary painter by the name of Tomasz Gildebrant. The reclusive Gildebrant has taken the art world by storm despite, or perhaps because, rumors that viewing his pictures drives weak-willed individuals into acts of extreme violence, destructive debauchery or both.
Our protagonist catches hints of Gildebrants inner circle being on the move, and immediately springs into action to try to secure contact with them. His goal? Nothing short of a face-to-face meeting of an artist who doesn't even allow pictures of his face. Needless to say, our hero has crossed some ethical and judicial lines by the time the invitation to join Gildebrant in his isolated alpine home.
Upon their first meeting, our protagonist notices Gildebrant seems almost impossibly gregarious for a recluse. The darkness inherent to his work is nowhere to be seen, neither in the man nor his impeccably, arftully minimalistic and shockingly modern home high up in the Carpathian alps. There are, however, little hints that something isn't as it should be, like how the doors to the guest room locks automatically half an hour before midnight, and just how many pairs of shoes crowd the entryway.
So, without spoiling too much, we're going to explore some avenues of paranoia, as well as learning some harsh truths both about our determined point-of-view character and his enigmatic host. Perhaps, if it all falls into place, it'll turn out sweet, and if it does not, I hope it at least becomes tragically beautiful.
Anyway, before I disappear entirely into the poetry corner today, I figured I'd talk some shop. This book is by all probability going to be longer than TCB. I originally envisioned The Artist as a triology, but figured I could also execute what I wanted in a single work if I showed some discipline. So, that is what I will try to do, although I will have to try a slightly different approach to outlining than my usual method to see if it all fits.
I probably won't talk all that much about this WIP on here before I'm done with the bones of the story and the characters. Hopefully that'll be before Oct 31st, but if I have to pants it come November 1st, i'll pants it and probably start ranting in a sufficiently unhinged way on here. I'll put down a tag list post as fast as I can come up with a working title that I can live with.

For the recent writing ask game, I'd love to know your thoughts about 10, 12, 13, 23, 30, 49! Or if that's too many feel free to just pick a couple, I'm not sure if there's supposed to be a limit per ask!
Hello my dear mutual and fellow Jiang Cheng enjoyer! 💜💜💜
Okay but seriously how funny would that be to get an ask and they're like "1-50 pls" on a lark? 😂
Thank you so much for playing, btw, very exciting! 🤗
10. How do you decide what to write?
As in, how do I decide what's going to be a WIP and what just stays a daydream: The more niche it is the more likely I will end up writing it because I write stories for me. So, Top Priority of getting me fed is to write the stories I want to see. I check the relevant tags on Ao3, see there's like... nothing for my idea, despair, then open LibreOffice.
As in how do I decide which WIP to work on? Literally I use the carl-bot /choose function on any Discord server that has it. 😂😂 As long as I am writing something, that's good enough.
12. Are there any tropes you used to dislike but have grown on you?
🤔 Hmm based on the fanlore.org site I think a trope I once was meh about that I have come to like is Genderbend. But then I tried writing a bit of it and decided I liked some things about it after all. 😅
13. Are there any tropes you used to like but don’t anymore?
😓 Oof yeah, you know, I used to be cool with hatesex/enemyslash tropes but somewhere along the line I got real boring, and decided I have way more fun if the characters actually like each other on an emotional level, even if they're hard pressed to admit it. Now it just squicks me out to see it, or any pairing where I can't conceive of a canon-verse way for it to happen that wouldn't just be hatesex/enemyslash.
23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?
One day I will write a casefic! I don't even have a WIP for it but ONE DAY it will happen and it will be SHORT and FUN and I WILL NOT spend 40k+ on it. 😤😤😤
30. Have you ever written something that was out of your comfort zone? If so, what was it, and how did it affect your approach to writing fic thereafter?
🙃 Haaaaa... well... my comfort zone is long format fic heavy in description, action, plot, world building. Outside of that is... snappy dialogue, humor, short fic. I think the closest I came to outside my comfort zone is my chengxuan fic at 9.2k words but the dialogue isn't that interesting. I also have my recently scrapped WIP "Cringe Fic" (referenced in question 12) that was me working through writing a bunch of tags/tropes I otherwise can't read, to see if I can write it in a way I would like to read.
Writing the chengxuan one-shot didn't really do anything for me besides get me started publishing for the MDZS fandom. It was a fluke, in my opinion.
Cringe Fic had the bonus of expanding the base of ideas I am willing to try and write for, e.g. genderbend.
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
🙄 Okay so don't laugh (you can laugh), but as it turns out, I am writing a genderbend that I actually intend to publish when it's done. I noticed that there are only 24 works for Female Mò Xuányǔ tag, 19 of which are wang/xian. None of which are chengxian. I always wanted to explore canon Wei Wuxian actually experiencing dysphoria in his new body and making Mo Xuanyu female I feel will heighten that further. I'm thinking I want him to ping-pong between feeling everything is too different but also finding joy in what he has now and settle somewhere in the genderfluid realm of dealing with his 2nd life.
And of course I want it to be chengxian because 🤤 oh wow the drama there...
It's still in the very rough draft stages but here's a part that's interesting to me.
Wèi Wúxiàn traces the trail of brighter crimson to his arms. One sleeve is a clean bright vermilion, the other is soaked nearly black. “Not good,” he croaks with a voice that isn’t his. It’s a higher pitch, even for how ragged and torn it sounds. “Fuck.” Immediately, his good hand comes up to his throat that’s not his throat, where his questing fingertips fail to catch the presence of a knot that should bob as he swallows air. The same hand he trails down slowly, dreadfully, between his collarbones to his sternum, where a narrow, soft, valley goes undisguised by the vermilion robes wrapped around him. He looks down to his chest. Not his chest. His foggy mind catches up and grades the new look. Modest but present. Then his thoughts race ahead and the pins and needles of sensation wash away in the heat of panic. Wèi Wúxiàn spreads his knees and his hand drops down, but he knows.
🧡🙌 This has been fun! See you on my Dash!🙏🧡
...Or even... in my DMs 😉

you wrote a trans!jere fic last year and i've always been curious about them (ik it's a pwp but still lol) so 1, 16/17 for that au 💚
AYOOOO what a good callback, thank you for this!! I don't think I had much in mind for that short pwp, BUT let's see what I can concoct right now. I'll say it's a non-ESC AU LOL
1. Which one is more open about their love life?
Oh, I think they're both disgustingly in love and open about it. Especially after the first year or so, where they navigate this new world of figuring things out and what to expect.
16. Are they each other’s first serious relationship?
I'm gonna say no 🤔 I think Jere, especially pre-transition, had gone through a handful of relationships in a search for answers and acceptance and identity. He had a long-term one that was genuinely great and right on the cusp of him transitioning, but he needed some time to think about who he was and what he wanted, so they remained amicable and broke up.
Bojan's had a few things here and there, one serious one, but nothing ever really stuck. He's ended things, they've ended things, some are still in touch, some aren't. He'd mainly stuck with cis people though and the thought of dating someone trans hadn't crossed his mind until he'd met Jere. I will say, I can see his dating history definitely getting more queer the further along he goes. He had a crisis or two along the way before becoming chill with it.
(this got long, so the other question under the cut lol)
17. If not, how do things learned from previous relationships affect their current relationship?
I think Jere's learned to be fairly cautious and has a means of fielding people's perception of him. Is it just a passing curiosity? Are they genuinely interested in him? Is it a fetish for them? Do they see him as an actual person? What are their thoughts about others who don't pass as well as him? He's typically stayed within the queer dating scene that he knows, so when Bojan appears out of seemingly nowhere, he's simultaneously skeptical and--per BoJere tradition--enamored. Bojan is just Some Guy and he's clearly also figuring out how to navigate dating a trans person, but he's so open and respectful about it, even when he fumbles something, and is willing to learn, so Jere's not sure what to do at first with all this undivided attention on him.
For Bojan, he's very aware by this point in his life that he's Not Straight. He's interested in a variety of people, he's open to all sorts, but Jere's the first trans person he's been with. He has to sit with it for a moment and think about what his feelings are on it, for both his and Jere's sake, but he quickly comes to the conclusion that he's just enamored by Jere as a person and that's all that matters. He learns, obviously, there's more to it and wants to keep learning, but ultimately he just wants to build something beautiful with Jere and explore whatever connection it is that they have. Bojan knows he can also have a tendency to steamroll with his opinions, so he's learned from previous relationships to let Jere speak on the things that are important to him. AKA Bojan not taking the microphone away from Jere when there's a question that Jere has a much more knowledgable opinion on LOL

I go by Kie or Kierax just about everywhere.
I am over the age of 25
I am comfortable interacting with minors on a strictly platonic setting. I was once one of them, rping my way into a love of writing. I'm fine with sharing that love, sharing a love for writing, a love for world building....I'm fully willing to plant the seeds of imagination in the next generation. I am NOT willing to do anything other than that. If you are a minor, any rp I do with you will be innocent, the darkest it can go is maybe some fight scenes and possible darker themes. That's it. Do not push me any further than that.
I am asexual biromantic. I am a Survivor. This means there will be very little to no smut or sexual things unless I am extremely comfortable with you.
This does not mean I am not willing to explore my characters romantic side. As long as things are fade to black, I'm okay.
Please do not pressure me in replying. I have ADHD, anxiety, and depression. All of these combined do not make a good cocktail for pressure, and if i’m pressured in interacting, replying, or other things then I get burnt out really fast. I do this because I enjoy it, so please don’t take my enjoyment out of it by putting a deadline on me.
That being said, if i’ve taken more than a week or so to even interact with you, feel free to poke me and just give me a gentle reminder! I don’t consider “hey we still good for that rp?” a pressuring measure, and I love to interact so i’d be thrilled to get a message!
Tumblr media
I care very little about how other people run their blogs. I care very little about what topics you rp. If I enjoy talking to you, or writing with you, then I will do so. This means I do not take place in censorship culture. I will not shame you, or call you out based on what you find enjoyable. I know for a lot of people, writing and rp is a type of therapy, and most of us are adults here and can choose to disengage when something makes us uncomfortable.
I reserve the right to rp with whoever I wish. I do not pick sides. I will not choose one over the other. If you attempt to make me choose either you or someone else, unless I know you very well and we are close friends…I will likely choose the person who is not pressuring me to choose. Firefox and Chrome both have extensions that allow you to block almost all instances of a user on your blog, please use it. (the only exception to that is asks, and for that reason I do not answer asks, but instead make a new post.)
I try not to engage in drama. I do my best to keep in my own lane. I have in the past, voiced my opinions on topics that are related to me particularly or related to people I am quite close with. However, I try to stay out of it.
If, for some reason, you do something that unnerves me, upsets me, or otherwise is against my rules, if it is directly affecting me (Ie: in a reply or im) I will give you a warning. If you do it again, then I will let you know and unfollow. In the case of me seeing it on my dash, you will not get a warning unless we have interacted quite a bit, I will immediately unfollow.
I curate my space based on my likes. If you don't like my likes, my interactions, then the unfollow button is right there. I don't care. I'm here to have fun, to blow off steam, and to enjoy myself. I'm not your baby-sitter, and I don't ever plan on being one. There are many different ways you can make sure you don't see something. Use them.

So random ask,
Is there an aspect of an OC that you would like to explore but haven’t found the way to? (It can be any OC and it could be anything from a little quirk, a personality trait or literally anything you think about them and that you’d like to share)
ok i have been excited to answer this and I think honestly it's the more negative traits each of my OCs have.
Like I could do something where i feed into an obsession or ambition, but I don't know if i would enjoy writing it or have fun with others reading it. There's been a few times where I sort of wrote myself into a corner and had to back track because it was too far gone to make a reasonable resolution that felt good (to me)
More with Corus his anger and recklessness (impulsive actions that lead to closer calls or something that finally went too far) Kyrie's a bit obsessive need to protect (willing to take whoever it is away from what he perceives as danger, against their will) Melody's negativity (pushing others away and refusing to let anyone in) Mira's willingness to die for the good of others Vitus's determination to keep things stable Felix and his focus to keep the people he cares about safe (a character that in a different universe ignores that a tiny is very much human) Ash has an unexplored interest in preserving the beauty of nature I've gone pretty deep into before bailing out before Ian's anxiety leading to negative actions when he's big, trusting the wrong person when he's small
I could go into like every oc and their problems I want to explore at some point, but I don't really know how I would. I admit I do have a tendency to lean into darker tones for fiction in preference for consuming or creating. So something with them.
It's come closest when my own mood sours and I try to write. Part of when I take longer breaks too. I don't want to let my own shitty mood dictate something that doesn't fit my characters (my dm for pathfinder even catches me in those moods to keep me on track)
One day I might do a sort of horror challenge and write the bad things out. I have at least 1 oc who would build a really nice tube connection they have for mice and guinea pigs, but for a colony of tinies completely ignoring their wants to escape and get away
I have rambled for sure, but it's a lot of just exploring the unchecked bad traits of ocs.
Honestly there's been a lot of ideas i toyed with of showing the darker parts where it's framed as a good thing. Creature Mira au where she has to do something a lot more than killing monsters. Kaiju Ash au where their change made their own morals go corrupt. I did do it with Corus and Mira sort of, the bad end non canon stories of Assassin Mira gambling and Human Corus meeting Mira in a world that just sort of is a bit different.
Ok I'm actually gonna stop rambling but i'll happily go further on anything that i've said or any oc I didn't list that you wanna know about. I'm actually gonna think about making a list of like horror versions of stories where I do this now, maybe next october.

I am 23 years old, I have been roleplaying since I was about 12. I've explored numerous websites for roleplay, lately it's been slow so i've decided to see how the umbra market is these days.
🕊️ I am looking for someone with no tiggers 🕊️
Here are some terms for role playing with me, I'm sorry there are a lot of things, but it saves us the time of having miscommunication or "surprises" later.
» Let me state right off the bat, NO fandoms. We can do ideas based on movies/tv shows, but I am not strictly doing a fandom roleplay. I do not like to be restricted to "what already exists." I want oc's and our own world building collaborations.
You must be at least 20+ to roleplay with me. Thought there is an age minimum, there is not an age maximum. I do not care how old you are, i've roleplayed with 35 year olds before… I have no issue with it.
Our oc's will be older than 20 years old. (My oc will be 24). I am perfectly fine with our oc's having an age gap, though i'd prefer that yours would be the older one.
MXM ONLY
I am looking for someone with a dominant personality, though bed-wise i'd prefer you to be a top OR switch. NO STRICT BOTTOMS (unless you want me to bottom the entire time.) I do plan to top sometimes too (applies to mxm rp only)…
I do not & am not willing to double up. Yes, I will play other characters within the role play, but I do not want "two of the same roleplay"
The roleplay will be plot centered but nsfw will be included frequently. I'm kinda kinky, I like things to be rough, so do not come if you're vanilla.
I really want dark/dead dove themes included. ️ We can discuss this further together, but if you do not know what it means- it just means "dark" role play with possibly triggering content. It's best if you come with no triggers and are willing to do *things.* If you get what I mean.
>>>> no gross/stink/poop/slob/death/limb removal… stuff like that.
-> You need to be ADVANCED LIT with the ability to write multiple paragraphs (I write around 2-9 depends). If you crank out small one sentence or small paragraph replies… I'll probably be really disappointed and ghost you lol
->You NEED to use Realistic face claims (i hate anime & picrews, please no descriptions either). Denying the use of realistic faceclaims will just make me ghost you. I'm not willing to change it, i'm sorry. I'm picky.
-> 3rd person only
-> long term only
-> discord 1x1 group
I have some plot ideas, I am willing to hear yours too. I am huge fan of historical, but I will do fantasy, modern, futuristic- and every other genre as well.
————Two Ideas I have Currently————
>>> i am willing to hear your ideas <<<
one:
Muse (me) has been a resident of the local psychiatric hospital for a few years. Because of the nature, they keep to themselves and don't go out of the way to meet people. Muse (you) is a newly admitted patient to the same hospital. They're loud & aggressive. , by habit, goes out of their way to avoid , but is fascinated by him. makes it their personal mission to get as close as they possibly can to . One day manages to steal a key card and ambushes in a hallway. Once the two are alone, is finally able to get forced conversations from Muse and decides to keep prisoner for as long as they can without getting caught.
two:
Muse (me), an innocent church boy, who tries to get back at his family, accidentally gets himself caught up in a cult, which is run by Muse (you). Muse learns quickly that he cannot escape the cult and is stuck being teased and tormented.
Please come with little to no triggers and the ability to collaborate.
Communication is KEY, if you're busy or you're not feeling the roleplay, please please please tell me. We can come up with something that would benefit the both of us.
DM me IF YOU'RE INTERESTED. I hate when people engage and then ignore me. Please, don't waste my time. Only engage if you're actually actively seeking roleplay.

Hello! I'm looking for 18+ rp partners for fandomless fxf plot. I'm willing to do mxm if that's important to you (but fxf is more preferable).
I want to explore the plot with phychotic characters with very questionable morals. I have a vague idea for the dynamics between them, but the details of the story aren't sorted out yet. That's why I'm looking for an active partner, who is going to be enthusiastic about discussing, world building, suggesting their own ideas for the plot.
The story is going to be dark, long and slow (!). NSFW isn't a requirement, but we totally can add it to the story. It won't be smut centred tho. I like character study, developing plot, creating complicated dynamics between characters more.
My writing style is lit, 3d person, past tense. The length of the replies varies depending on the scene. I tend to do long, detailed posts and expect the same from my partner. I understand that it isn't always possible to write something big, but including exploration of a character from the inside (thoughts, feelings, inner monologues) as well as their actions and words is enough. I don't mind slow repliers (but a short notice that you're going to disappear for a long time would be nice).
As for communication, I prefer using Discord and am ready to do as most comfortable for you. Want to chat OOC? I'm happy to do so! Want to rant about your bad/good day? I'll listen! Want to share aesthetics, arts, tiktoks for our characters and plot? Pls, I want to see! Want to stick strictly to rp? That's fine with me! Just communicate. It's totally okay if you don't vibe with me or the story anymore, you can say it.
I know it's a bit messy, but if interested, like this post and I'll reach out to you so we can discuss further!
give a like and anon will get back to you

A bit of a 'kin diary entry CW for drug use
While I had been planning on it for a while, I finally ran my first round of shrooms since they were decriminalized here. It's part of a deeper experiment to make it so I'm forever mental shifted, and some permanent phantom shifts mixed in might be nice. One of the goals this past Saturday that I decided on was also trying to push a past life regression. I continued to fail to get concrete kin memories. I was, to some extent, willing to accept the possibility of it being purely psychological, and to some degree, I don't have strong evidence against that possibility even now but either way: I succeeded. I found myself walking two lands in the sky in a sort of waking dream. It's entirely possible they were ultimately both part of the same kingdom. The first vision I walked along solid pathways laden with pearl and gold, and pink fog covered the area. I even saw one end of an airship docked along the pathway. Of course, I felt something was... off. But maybe not. Importantly, though, I wanted to see a part of this home where I could see the sky. And so, the vision shifted, and now I could see sky above and sky below as I walked wood and rope bridges around a small floating village. There were enchanted platforms that held buildings aloft in the sky. Now that I had seen home, the next question came: what did I do here? Who was I? What was I capable of? I held my hands out in front of me looking at the sky, and as I traced the sky, clouds and lightning followed the tips of my claws. Well, clearly I had reached a potent mastery of magic, so where did that put me in this skyborne society? Was I simply a powerful mage and artist? Some sort of ruler? A demigod? As I pondered these questions, the vision shifted. I now sat upon a throne of wood, made of woven together logs that looked like dark brown bamboo. Ivy and flowers were woven within the throne, and above me was a woven overhang made of woven wooden lattice, and the bridges extended from the platform I was on out into the blue. On my right was an ovular island with an airship docked on it. Overall the court and throne were out in the open air where I could feel the breeze and seethe sky all around me. I looked down at my hands, and I wore fine silken gloves around my forearm and 3 rings on my left hand. I could better see the cloudy fur on my hand now as well. The answer seemed to be clear: I had become a queen in this nation, and it was a place that felt incredibly positive, as if I was well loved. By then I was sobering up enough that further exploration was somewhat difficult, but this throne room had also become my new mindspace, and I had to spend the next while assigning those dear to me to roles in the courtroom to reaffirm my attachments to them. I may consider exploring further in the near future, because there's other parts of my nature that aren't properly answered in just being a queen. Needless to say, I'd never been so immersed before in my non-humanity, how vividly I could feel my tail, horns, fur, claws, muzzle. How vividly I felt my tail raise and tense up as my room mate teased me while immersed. How much all of my anxieties and fears about how I interact with this world faded away to be replaced by the sheer confidence of one who had earned her place on that throne. Furthermore, I can now seem to bring myself into shifts with just a moment of thought, which before it took deep meditations to do so. And as well, the musical synesthesia is quite interesting as the shrooms kick in. Everyone else described seeing colors, but at first I didn't, but as time when the colors when I closed my eyes began to reshape into patterns until finally the visions began appearing where I was walking among the clouds on the pearl pathways. Overall, definitely recommend such an experience. The shrooms otherwise had some of the intended results: Remove more of my human nature in favor of my kin nature, which even this first trip almost deleted my germaphobia. A few more trips and I anticipate I may yet have cured some of my chronic illnesses that have plagued me.

Hi there! I'm interested in the 50 follower event. I'll take knb love triangle matchup, please. Info: intp, 5w6, true neutral, phlegm-saguine, she/her, hetero, mid 20's. I love to read, write, draw, study japanese. I like academia style and I fit in kuudure trope.
A/N : Here it is ! Hope you enjoy.
Your KNB! LOVE TRIANGLE is…
Imayoshi Shoichi x You x Teppei Kiyoshi
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Imayoshi love trope : College love, if he’s flirting with you just to decompress or seriously you’re only going to know it with time but he seems interested in more than being your drinking buddy.
Teppei love trope : The language tutor, teaching you how to express love in multiples foreign language including the one of your heart.
Overall dynamic : Imayoshi doesn’t hesitate to use sneaky way to makes Teppei lower in your esteem for him it’s just fair game to eliminate opponents in love but he’s confident that you would chose him in the end meanwhile Teppei mostly try to first get you to like him as well and then show you innocently of course how bad the concurrent is.
COMPATIBILITY –
It clicks easily between Imayoshi and you. (ENTJ x INTP) this pairing is known to be a perfect match mostly because of their natural affinity and balance. At the core it’s genuine appreciation for each other’s intellect and it develops into much more admiration and positive feelings as you two don’t have any problems understanding each other as analysts and communicating.
On the other hand ENFJ x INTP is also great but it’s a completely different dynamic : you two are like polar opposite but surprisingly would manage to communicate and build a relationship based on these differences with Teppei, complimenting each other’s abilities in the relationship.
Enneagram wise 1w9 are perfectionists often described as ethical and stuff what could restrain a 5w6 desire for exploration and research but it’s absolutely not Imayoshi’s case. He may be wary of details and critical but he at least won’t stop you doing what you want because of morality and is curious enough to watch you trying something new. Aside from that you two share common traits as your liking to resolve your own kind of problems and finding solutions to them, your observant nature.
Teppei who is a 2w1 is not any worse or any better of a match I think, you’re going to admire him for his generosity because yours is much more restrained but it won’t makes you feel bad about yourself because Teppei as well have his egoistic moments as he takes actions on this world without thinking twice sometimes. Being much more on the realization and concrete, Teppei do what he thinks is good and how should things must happen for everything to go perfectly… He’s not a maniac on details and let everyone be free and do what they wants but he still have his perspective and his opinion that he’s willing to share if you ask.
True Neutral generally are compatible with most of the morality alignement lmaoo even if that much neutrality can be either boring, annoying or refreshing as they can potentially debate with you or discuss to further their perspective. Especially for the ones who sit at the extremes : Imayoshi is Lawful Evil and Teppei Chaotic Good.
As you fit in the kuudere trope, Teppei is having a fun time trying to make you come out of your shell and express more openly your feelings. When Imayoshi likes to tease you about it but won’t do a thing about it, it’s part of the fun flirting with you.
LOVE STORY : Passionate about Japan and its culture, you wanted to study there and learn the language but it happened that moving there lead you to others things as well. Before coming there you had a Japanese tutor online responding by the name of Kiyoshi Teppei. He was overall a cool guy, really extroverted and sociable : mostly your opposite but some way you could enjoy deep conversation and stupid ones with him as well. Whenever you would chat with him online he never disappoints to put a smile on your face and now you got to meet him person. It wasn’t awkward seeing him for real and he’s even quick to treat you like any others friends he has… or at least you thought because you quickly get your own special treatment and everyone keep saying about how he’s even weirder and showing all teeth smiling when he’s around you. Times makes you two closer and closer but Teppei is also very insistent for you to open up to others people and push you to meet new individuals but it’s only circumstances that makes you meet Imayoshi Schoichi at the library in the middle of your revisions. He had that mischievous smile on his face and that arrogant tone in his voice that he barely tries to hide while remaining polite. Chatting with him is interesting, he’s hardly hurt by your critics and emotionless remarks, it’s fun debating with him and while having intellectual spars you get to know each others. He makes your days at uni less painful and actually worth it but you don’t know if he’s genuine with you or here to pass time. You carefully try to not get too much attached with him but seeing him every time ready to wait for you after classes, actively teasing you and trying to meet you outside of school you feel special and just good. But life rythym is made of period of tranquility and agitation : Imayoshi and Teppei being very different, you don’t hang out with the two at the same time, they each bring that special thing in your life and eventually that’s how they found out that there is that someone you’re close to as well and menace the future of your relationship with them as you share your time between the two. Learning about the concurrent they’re surprised to see it’s a guy they had the occasion to play basketball against in high school and of course one from Seirin/Toou.

Hej, I actually have three questions: How do you handle plotbunnies? I currently have 14 - more or less fleshed out. But they are mere notes. Secondly: I'm in a bind with some of my pieces. The introduction is more or less there and I have a cornerstone (an important scene) but I don't know how to get there. Thirdly: Is there a tag or so for beat readers and how much research is good? I can sink week into research a single detail. Thanks.
(A note before I begin: as of 02.04.21, asks like this violate my ask guidelines. This isn’t a personal scolding, @quamatoc, but I just want to make you and readers aware that I won’t take multiple unrelated topics in a single ask anymore. More on this AG update here.)
Handling Plot Bunnies
Honestly, the most helpful thing I've learned is that it's okay to just... let your plot bunnies be. Leave them grazing on your metaphorical mental lawn. You don't have to do something with them straight away – in fact, managing which projects you work on and when, instead of chasing down every plot bunny you see, is an important skill to learn.
I like to keep an Evernote notebook for each plot bunny, so I can update it whenever I get a new idea but don't feel like I'm abandoning the ideas or like I have to work on them Right Now. You could keep a physical notebook, a file, a digital folder full of word documents – it doesn’t matter what you use, so long as it’s something you can access easily and keep relatively organised. Sometimes fresh inspiration will strike and I'll realise that an apparently unrelated plot bunny is actually really useful for a current project, or I'll get struck with a full plot for a previously fragmented idea. Either way, it’s been really liberating to realise that I can just keep plot bunnies safe somewhere for later on.
Getting from Point A to Point B (Building the Plot)
► PLOT STRUCTURES & GENERAL NOTES
To get from place to place in a story, you need to think about what makes it tick. You don’t need to write scenes in order, though! For me, figuring out a plot is really just me asking myself a very, very long series of questions. If I know what the Big Scene is, I’ll work backwards, asking myself things and seeing how the answers could get me from point A to B.
You don’t have to figure out a plot freehand, either. If you’re struggling, you might find it useful to use a pre-made plot structure outline such as the. There are loads available online. Print out several different ones and see which fits best, put your important scene where you think it goes and work backwards, write all over them, use a giant whiteboard, write on the wall – if it helps, use it. Here’s a blog article on different types of plot structure.
I also think it's important to actually write. It's so easy to get caught up in plotting that you don't put your thoughts to paper. Make sure you don’t fall into that trap! I'm a plantser, meaning I like to do a mixture of pre-plotting and flying through drafts by the seat of my pants. Even if you’re a rigid planner, be sure to see how your ideas look in action by drafting out scenes.
► “WHAT IF?” QUESTIONS
“What if character A and B discover a secret? What if they have different opinions on what to do about the secret? What if this becomes a friends to enemies to friends to lovers plot?? – wait, no, what if they’re already enemies and this secret forces them to work together? What if—”
Brainstorm  "what if...?" questions and explore various options. You don’t have to make any final decisions – that’s the beauty of drafting! The point is to put together subplots and main plots, and see which one works best in getting you to where you want to go.
► GOALS, WANTS & AMBITIONS
A character’s ambitions, wants and goals are very important to a story. They help hook the audience in by giving them something to root for. Knowing what a character wants and what lengths they would go to to get it is crucial to driving a plot forwards, especially if your story is character-driven.
What does a character want? → A character can have multiple desires, but it’s helpful to pick one key thing that undercuts most of their actions. Maybe they want to find out who killed their mother, or escape from somewhere. Perhaps they want to steal a pretty gem. Maybe they want to be king, or they want to escape from their responsibilities as a ruler.
What steps is a character willing to take? → Some characters are willing to do anything to achieve their goals. Maybe they commit a crime, end up in prison, get nudged towards more heinous actions, and find themself in a situation they never would have expected. Other characters are more cautious, but get pushed to breaking point – and then make a Bad Decision that bring about a major plot point. The steps a character makes are what puts them on the path of your plot.
Could anything change a character’s desires, or influence them to take different/more drastic measures? If so, what, and how would this change plot events? → Let’s say that your cornerstone scene is when character A steals from character B, but A starts the story unfailingly loyal to B and only wants to protect them. In order to get to that cornerstone, you’d need to work out what could happen to change A’s priorities. Change is invaluable in getting from plot point to plot point. If something happens that changes what a character wants – i.e., a betrayal, a sudden exile, or a change in fortunes – it can push them down paths they wouldn’t have otherwise considered.
► CONFLICT & OBSTACLES
Just as characters need to want something; plots need conflict and obstacles to make them interesting.
What could go wrong? How would the character(s) try to solve the problem? → “How can I create problems?” is probably the most valuable question an author can ask when building the plot; asking yourself how the characters try and solve said problem just pushes it even further, like this:
Does the attempted solution work? Whether it succeeds or fails, does it have any unexpected consequences? → Say that your Important Scene takes place in a different location to where your characters start out. So, the thing that goes wrong means your characters need to flee (the solution), and it works! They’ve escaped! Only now, they don’t have anywhere safe to go, and so they end up going into the place where Important Scene happens. Or maybe they don’t escape, and their attempt means that they’re transported to a more secure location, which in turn gives them an opportunity to get to Important Scene Location.
Do A’s goals conflict with another character’s goals? What would the other character do to protect their own interests? → If your cornerstone scene involves a clash of two armies, you need to think about what could ramp up the tension between the two sides, and conflicting interests is a great way to do this. Maybe your protagonist is trying to save the world from impending doom, but the queen of a neighbouring land is blinded by hunger for more land and riches. Or, the protagonist is a queen-in-exile trying to wrestle the throne back from the tyrannical relative who usurped her. Think about how each characters’ moves against the other could drive the plot.
The key is to think of it as building a structure out of bricks or slabs. You have your cornerstone – great! – now you need to work out what parts go where.
Research and Beta Readers
Research is something I wholeheartedly and unironically love. I will actually give myself research days a treat for reaching certain writing goals! So, naturally, I'm going to say that there's no limit on how much research one should do to create a story. That said, there is one caution to keep in mind: research is good, so long as you don't let it stop you from actually writing OR let it turn your writing into something akin to an instruction manual. In early drafts, try replacing any specific information you need with a code such as [ELEPHANT] or [KX] – basically, something you can find easily with the search function later on when you’ve researched it.
To find beta-readers, I recommend using the writeblr tag. It's where the bulk of the community puts their stuff. Make a post like "call for beta readers" with information about your project and use the buzzword tags like "writeblr" "writers on tumblr" "writers of tumblr" "beta readers" and whatever genre is applicable. Avoid external links in the post, otherwise it won't show up in the tags.

May we know more about your OCs relationship with each other and their respective duties in your world? 👀
the world itself is not sooo developed; i've only done worldbuilding that's relevant to my OC's (Amara's) story which is the current pov i have, and her pov doesn't really explain everything everything. but anyway, the story i'm focusing on rn is Amara's. Here's an old art of her that I posted ages ago but I've been meaning to do a redesign of her since that's kind of outdated, but she's a demon from Eden who fell into the New World--which is apple. She has no memory of who she is, or how she fell, or why she fell--but the only thing she knows is that she's looking for the faceless person that appears in her dream and she has to go back home with them so she explores the New World to find them. Along the way, she meets all sorts of people who already knows her, and she also meets a couple of people that knows of her predicament and knows how to get her back to Eden but she has to give something to them. The Snake asks for her true name in exchange for knowledge on how to get back, the Crow asks for a trinket she deems important and in exchange, she will show her the way back home. Amara travels down to the new world with their offers in mind, not ready to believe them yet. She wants to find her own answers first before relying on somebody else.
The city of the New World is underground to block out the sun; the King specifically built it that way to protect the demons that fell from Eden. The New World is where the fallen demons come to live. Where they would've been shunned in Eden for their incomplete pieces (parts of themselves have been withered away from the cold, the sun, from the time spent in this place) in here they thrived under the King's generous rule. Everyone praises the King; 'they have saved us' they cry. If he was not here, they would've withered like parchment under the sun. Their pieces would've ate themselves until they're nothing but husks. The King replaced their withered parts with steel so they would not break ; replaced their brittle bones with glass so they would not snap. Amara's parts have not been replaced yet, she has only fallen recently but it is starting to get to her. She is noticing how her skin have started to crack, how the cold have managed to worm it's way in through her fingernails and paint them blue and crystalline.
She travels further down in the New World with a her new companion C.erb--a robot created by the king--where the sun no longer reach and only the cold warms you, where there is nothing but darkness and the occasional light of the luminescent fish that passes by. The King's domain is empty and cold. There is nothing on the walls but dozens and dozens of wires all connected to the King. The floor is empty except for a lone stone bench. The King is a demon--Amara realizes--the first demon that fell into the New World. She realizes she has heard of their story before but she had forgotten. In Eden the demons were glutton to their own passions. But indulging in the same passions over and over makes them grow stale, and so, for the sake of change, they started to pit and plot against each other. Their newfound entertainment was in the form of wiles and petty pranks. The rule of Eden is that only perfection is allowed to exist, and imperfection was cast away. The King had been a target of their peers, was framed for a crime they did not commit and was cast down into the world below. But the King thrived in the world beneath. Like a spider that spun its web they started to build their own kingdom piece by piece. They offered shelter to the demons that fell, taught them how survive in the frozen wasteland. Soon, many followed under their guidance and they were deemed the King.
The King did not have any answers for Amara nor do they know how to return to Eden, however, they do offer Amara a place by their side if they were willing. But as Eden's only rule was perfection, the New World's rule was that they were to give and replace a part of themselves to the cold. It is an exchange that most have no problems with, as they were already in decay, but the King asks Amara for something specific. I have only half a heart, the King said. It is a slow beating thing, like a clock that never moves but still ticks. If you wish to stay under my kingdom, I only ask for a small thing. The King smiles at her. You have no need for a heart here. Amara would've offered it, would've given it so easily but something about the King is familiar. She could not name it, but it was like looking through a fog and seeing a known figure on the outside. Her mind was hazy, and her chest started to ache. An impulse controlled her mouth. She named a name.
And she woke again, freshly fallen on a bed of frozen snow, looking up at Eden hanging on the sky.

Match up 。◕‿◕。
Hello, may I get a ikemen vampire match please! :D PHYSICAL FEATURES: 5'5", long straight black hair (past the shoulders, but not past the chest), light brown skin, beauty mark on my left cheek almost adjacent to nostril, "fiery" brown almond shaped eyes and a little bit of a thicker eyebrows, body figure: close to a pear shape or an hourglass (I really can't distinguish the difference between the two when it comes to my body).
PERSONALITY: I tend to be down to earth when I need to be, but to be honest my head is always in the clouds and I have a habit to look forward to the future rather than to focus on the present. People would tend to think I am strong and could be a good leader, but I think they hold this perception because I am confident in myself and strong willed. In actuality I hate to lead others, rather I like to help everyone else with their vision or goals. I am also someone who finds positivity in many situations, but sometimes pessimistic (or just pure procrastination) gets the better of me, but I have no worries when this happens because I becone my own motivator. Big dreamer and occasionally a romantic (when the mood is right). Also, I have had my shares of being shut out during conversationsor have noticed people wanting to be a part of a group or to be inclusive in some manner, due to these experiencesand observations I found myselfalways wanting to make sure everyonehas had their voice spoken and listened to. As a direct influence to my personality on how I want everyone to have a voice and to be listened to I became someonewho enjoyed being the listener and the observer in the group. I have recently taken the Bridge Myer Test and it said I am and INFP (which I believe describes me fairly well).
HOW WOULD I ACT IN A RELATIONSHIP: I love to listen to others and observe their reactions, understanding who they are on a deeper level, this only further my understanding of my love language: which is quality time. Just spending time with the person I love and listening to them while they interchangeably listen to me is my ultimate high. Even enjoying each others company and not saying a word sits well in my heart, as long as we are enjoying ourselves. I am not a level 10 PDA person, but to be honest I wouldn't mind having someone who is expressive in that area (as long as I am given space afterwards), to be honset I may even enjoy it. At the start of a relationship I tend to have rose colored glasses on max as I pursue someone I like, but as they admit their emotions they hold for me and the lovely valentine styled scene shatters and I begin to see everything more clearly. Instantly I tend to only want a relationship of friendship to grow between us, which becomes a better outcome as I can grow to love the confesser as the person they really are and actually develop genuine love and not just a crush or lust.
MORE INFO ABOUT ME: I am currently studying architecture and I love the arts. Hobbies of mine is to expand my herb garden, go jogging, go white water rafting, learn to roller skate (still a beginner), learn to paddle board (still a dream of mine to even start this hobbie), help my dad pick vegtables from the garden, and feed our sheep. I tend to take the beaten path when traveling, shopping, or finding a place to eat. Also for a little fun for this match-up, I'm minoring in Medevial Renaissance in hopes to use my degree to go to Europe or Japan and restore old castles or buildings. Speaking about traveling, I love areas that heavy on history, culture, and connected towards nature (some areas that come to mind is Scotland, New Orleans Louisiana, Savannah Georgia, Montana, Italy, Greece, ect.). Some of my other invests would be: enjoying horror, mystery, psychologically teasing movies and books, murder podcasts, history documentaries (especially history documentaries that involves the involvement of phantoms, occult, witchcraft, voodoo,.ect) paranormal YouTubevideos, I love to go antiquing, and enjoy exploringthe food world (while I also improvemy skill in cooking), and I enjoy indie pop music and recently found myself loving songs with a twist of blues.
Hi hi love! 🌻❤Thank you so much for the request and sorry for taking so long with it! I hope you have a super good day, sending lots of hugs! ❤☺Hope ya enjoy it! ❤☺ @100christy
So I match you with.................. Comte
Tumblr media
The first time you met the legend, Saint Germain de Comte was during one of your classes minoring in the Medieval Renaissance. They had gotten in a very handsome man with gold, dusty coloured hair and timeless golden eyes, to guest speak during one of the lectures. He spoke with a sense of a knowing grace about alchemy, the traditions, cultures and history of that time. He had encaptivated all the students; all eyes were on him as everyone hung onto his every word. He elegantly walked about the lecture hall speaking as if he had, had a first account of the event being described and that is when his eyes locked with yours. His golden eyes were gleaming in the rays of the afternoon sun, piercing down into the depths of your soul, and that is when this mysterious man stole your heart. And little known to you, the second this man saw your fiery brown almond eyes, his breath caught in his throat and he found that for the first time in his immortal life, his heart had been stolen right from under his nose.
For the rest of his lecture, you were off in the clouds, far away from reality, in fact by the time you had come back down to earth the lesson was over and all the students were on their feet to leave. You caught a glance of the golden man’s coat that he had forgotten laying on the front desk. Suddenly you felt the urge to chase after him. You trailed behind the blond man, hoping to catch up to him to deliver him his coat back. You followed him all the way to some fancy museum when you lost sight of him as he disappeared through a large wooden door. There was a mystical air about the door and sounding area, and as a travel and mystery lover, you couldn’t help but follow after the man. The room around you changed from crips white museum walls, to an old victorian style room filled to the brim with the most fascinating antiques. You wished nothing more than to explore the house filled with the most curious nicknacks, but you pushed on to find the man to return him the coat.
You were suddenly startled when the very man that you were trying to track down, appeared behind you and tapped you on the shoulder, “Are you looking for me, Ma Cherie.” You got a freight but relaxed the second you caught sight of his gentle smile.
“Found you! You forgot your coat in class, so I thought I might return it to you.” He smiled down tenderly at you as he gently took the coat from your hands, “I hope you didn’t go through to much trouble to get this back to me my dear,” He then carefully took your hand and laid a chaste kiss on it, “would you like to join me in the garden from some tea, Ma Cherie. I would like to do at least something to thank you for going through all that trouble.” A sad smile crossed his face as he gently took your hand in his and led you to the garden signalling for the butler to bring the two of you some tea and snacks to the gazebo out in the lush, vibrant garden.
Comte couldn’t help but smile a fond smile down at you as you excitingly examined his herb garden. He crouched down beside you and gushed all about his little plants he had nursed from seedling, and you couldn’t help but smile up at the man. His timeless old face had tuned youthful as he raved all about the herbs and how his butler uses them in their meals. He even offered you a little patch to start your own, and before you could decline, he dropped the “you will be here for one-month” bomb. And that is how your relationship with the pureblood started.
In the weeks to follow you and Comte spent a significant amount of time together from travelling around the province to visit every antique shop insight to doing a bit of gardening together.
As it was, the two of you shared a common love language, and that would be quality time, and as such, every free moment the two of you got, was spent together. Comte is very much a busybody and has many different friends in different places, so its no surprise when he invites you along to travel with him. Once he is done with his business the two of your travel around the area going sightseeing, from looking at different castles to discovering all that is to be known about French architecture of the late 19th century. In fact, sometimes your travels expand even out of Paris to neighbouring provinces and areas.
When the two of you aren’t off travelling the world together, you are back at the mansion just enjoying each others company. Sometimes the two of you would simply be in the same room together each busy with their own task while enjoying the company of the other presence.
As time passes the two of you become relatively close friends, Comte knows you have to go back in a month, and he wouldn’t dare ask you to give up your life in the future for him. So he cherishes every moment spent in the past with you. He knows his heart will be broken in two when the day comes, but he is determined to do what it takes to make you happy. After all, you are the love of his life, whether you know it or not. This man fell in love with you the moment he first met you, and after spending countless days with you, that love has only grown.
He loves how strong-willed and confident you are, giving all the men and woman at the fancy banquets a run for their money. He loves how much you have helped the fellow residents subtly realize their visions and goals and have helped them to grow. He especially loves the way you include everyone in your conversations. You're a truly kind and caring soul, and he can't help but deeply cherish you. So he does the only thing he can do while you are still with him….. he spoils you. This man loves to buy gifts for you, and he WILL buy you anything and everything your heart desires.
And through your time spent the golden pureblood, you have come to realize that somewhere along the line you stopped seeing him as a friend and instead saw him as a potential partner. Your rose coloured glasses were shattered, as you had come upon that realization one night during one of the balls. You were dancing with Comte and couldn’t help but beam at the carefree smile he wore, and at that moment you realized you wanted to spend the rest of your life seeing that carefree smile. You realized that your feeling had gone beyond some measly crush or just lust, but that you truly loved him as a best friend, dare I say, soul mate. You were now determined to make your feelings know.
You confessed your feeling to Comte one sunny afternoon while the two of you went white water rafting. After making your way down the river, the two of you landed up in a still lake in the middle of the forest. The two of you had found this river a while back while you were hiking after you had insisted on taking the beaten path. On the waters of the crystal clear still water you looked up into Comte's golden eyes and confessed your love. To say this man was delighted would be an understatement. Gentlemanly as always he gently took hold of your hand and kissed it, while stating that he felt the exact same way.
The two fo you cuties were inseparable, always off together doing some or other fun activity. Comte loved that you had so many varies hobbies, and he truly enjoyed participating in each and every one of these hobbies. Be it jogging, or rollerskating he was always keen to try new things.
His favourite of your hobbies would have to be shopping and discovering new places to eat. If the two of you aren’t doing something active, you are out in the town buying everything in sight and trying variouse new restaurants. It has actually become a lunchtime tradition for Comte to seek you out and escort you into town where the two of you would have lunch together at a new café.
The two of you have a very open and honest relationship that has been built on the best foundation….. Friendship. Comte absolutely loves those quieter moments with you nestled against his chest as the two of you talk about anything and everything. He loves that you actually listen to and try and, understand who he is on a deeper level.
He is at his happiest when he is just spending time with you and listening to you as you interchangeably listen to him as well. Speaking of, you absolutely love picking this man’s brain about cultures and history, and he loves nothing more than to tell you story upon story of historical events that he has lived through and witnessed first hand. This man lives for that excited expression on your face whenever the two of you talk history, culture and how it is connected to nature. And oooh when comte found out you liked mysteries and stories about the paranormal (phantoms, occult, witchcraft, voodoo, etc), he was all too pleased to spill the tea and even do some research on the topics together with you.
All and all the two of you have a lot of fun together, whether its out exploring the world or spending a quiet night in simply nestled in each other's arms exchanging words of love. Comte will spend every day of your mortal life cherishing you. And every day of your immortal life together showering you with an endless amount of love and affection. After all, he is at his happiest when you are happy, his dearest soul mate
Other Potential matches………………… Dazai
I hope you enjoyed this love and have the best day!❤☺🥰
