Maybe Rodney can give Chai and co some mech upgrades before they do their final battle!!!!!
I've decided to change the timeline around a bit, so at the point of the Tech Revolution Rodney is probably like 13 or something. About the time he starts trying to invent Wonderbot.
The reason for this is that the robots in Hi Fi Rush are being made very quickly and constantly. Even though there is a quality check, they are making a LOT of robots (at least under Kale's management). So having the whole "outmode" thing wouldn't really work as parts are definitely still being made at this time.
Which is why I'm moving the Robots plot to after the timeskip, when being an outmode is a much more possible outcome. Maybe Roxanne literally retires or ends up passing during that time, or maybe she is still around. No matter what, I think parts will always be made close to Vandelay Tech.
That means the Robots plot happens away from Vandelay (which is around California). And I already established a robot aesthetic for the New England area of the US with Eri and the gang.
In my head, the robotics companies in the UK look more steampunk-y or just obviously machine-like compared to any other robo company in the world. So having Bigweld Industry take place in the UK seems like a really good idea!
Vandelay robots over the 10 years (as well as robots from all over the world) are given more freedom and end up moving around. I don't know if a new city would be made called Robot City, at least not officially, but people around the world would just call it that as a nickname (like if someone says City of Light for France or the Music City for Vinyl City) since that is where a majority of robots head to.
So this city in the UK ends up making a company called Bigweld Industries, that has a pure robot for a CEO (perhaps the first robot to get to this kind of position? like sure 1010 are very high up, but they are mainly performers, and Neon J is a cyborg, not a robot so him being CEOs to his own companies are not the same).
But anyway! Rodney lived in Vandelay Technologies area for his childhood, and probably saw the Tech Revolution take place, and how Peppermint was able to fix people like Korsica up. But he also grew up hearing about the start up of Bigweld Industries and a city where robots are the majority and treated with respect.
I don't think every robot from the Robots story would have been created as a kid bot and grew up. Rodney was one, but Bigweld and Ratchet are robots similar to 1010 who were made to be a certain age and then grew from that point onward.
Like for years now there have been robots making other robots and treating them like family. Having the idea to create a child robot and upgrade them as they grew was not common (1010 being the first robots to truly do so, but that wasn't known to the public. Most robots either gained sentience randomly, or were given fake memories and then gained sentience after that).
I'm talking all over the place and some of these ideas aren't actually set in stone yet, but this is the overall idea that I am going for at the moment! The Tech Revolution being a start to the coming robot (and others) vs human conflict that will come after the 10 year time skip!
And honestly, I'm so happy that whoever said to add Robots into the Eriverse said that! Because it actually does help a lot in the future of this world that I was planning to play with!
[It's kinda funny how just adding Robots has made me think more about HFR. It makes sense! That was what I was going for! But now I need to make more of a focus on Psychonauts again. It's kinda weird though because I think Psychonauts fits more into the Past of the Eriverse more so than the Present or Future.
I definitely have plans for them, but they just take more of a backseat in the whole overall of the story. Maybe that's because they are a more downlow organization compared to everyone else. Only coming out when needed. So a story not FOCUSED on the internals of Psychonauts can't really have that much influence as they only appear at certain points]

Vengeful Knight
When Danny moved to Gotham he didn't think that would be a problem, his rogues agreed to let him go (or at least, most of them) and it was a good opportunity to get his college degree.
Of course, you can't spend your whole life with ghosts without getting attached to them or having them getting attached to you. Although most of them had promised, Danny was well aware that not all of them were going to keep that promise.
A good example was Fright Knight, who instead of staying in the Realms decided to move in with him and provide additional "protection"; the halfa figured it made sense, since he was now "heir" or whatever, he was just setting him back a few years.
Fright Knight took his job very seriously, mostly hiding in Danny's shadow and keeping watch. That was fine until the halfa got caught in a rogue attack in Gotham and inevitably, Frighty decided to do his job and press a sword down their throats.
Danny escaped from there soon after, but this trend continued to happen (rogues, muggers, even cops, anything "dangerous" ended up with a sword around his neck).
When he read in the Gotham newspaper about the "spirit of a knight" and "Gotham's recent problem with nightmares" he knew he had to do something about it. He was almost certain that people were going to consider him a vigilante or worse, a bat.
Besides, the nightmare dimension was getting pretty crowded and Danny didn't want to be part of the trauma of half the population in Gotham.

Now Valentinian was chosen emperor in Bithynia (as we have said before). He gave the signal for the march for the next day but one, and assembling the chief civil and military officials, as if ready to follow safe and sound advice rather than his own inclination, inquired who ought to be chosen as partner in the rule. [...] Dagalaifus, at that time commander of the cavalry, boldly answered: "If you love your relatives, most excellent emperor, you have a brother; if it is the state that you love, seek out another man to clothe with the purple." The emperor, angered by this, but keeping silence and concealing his thoughts, forcing the pace, entered Nicomedia on the first of March, and appointed his brother Valens chief of his stable with the rank of tribune. Then, on his arrival in Constantinople, [...] on the twenty-eighth of March he brought the aforesaid Valens into one of the suburbs and with the consent of all (for no one ventured to oppose) proclaimed him Augustus. Then he adorned him with the imperial insignia and put a diadem on his head, and brought him back in his own carriage, thus having indeed a lawful partner in his power, but, as the further course of our narrative will show, one who was as compliant as a subordinate.
AM 26.4.1-4
there's some hint of 'no one's allowed to talk shit about my brother but me,' energy, but also generally I'm just kind of obsessed. not with Valentinian I, but with Valens. hello.
I'll probably get into Valens later, since he's taking up a significant amount of room in my thoughts, but for now, it's the 'oh! the brothers were co emperors!' that's making the wheels spin. (the last time I was reading about brothers, or people made to be like brothers, as co-rulers, it was with Tiberius. and that goes about as well as you expect it to lmao)

btw not to make everything about My Fucking Guy but i honestly think one of the things that seperates q!phil out from the other islanders is the approach he takes to dealing with the lack of agency + control all the islanders have over whatever the fuck the federation's doing.
it shows up most prominently whenever tubbo is excitedly telling him about the 'progress' he's made with cucurucho or various investigations (ie: trapping him into a corner with the 'do you have free will' questions), and phil always shoots it down w an immediate 'that doesn't mean anything. curucuho will say anything to mess with you. you can't take anything he says as true.'
and it's not that phil is... a paticularly pessimistic character? he's just EXTREMELY practical. like, he's yet to give up on anyone EVER finding ANY answers (he was the one who initially gave the federation that one week ultimatum w the cage for a cage stream), he just doesn't trust the idea that curucuho is ever going to voluntarily give them. they're uncontrollable + senseless - you might as well argue with the weather.
and like, if that's how he sees the one (1) and only point of contact the islanders HAD with the federation for months, it explains a lot abt his characters lifestyle! ofc he sits on the wall all day, talking to his kids, and keeping his head down. he believes that the federation wants nothing more than to drag the islanders into sick games + tasks just so they can fuck with their head (ie: curucuho revealing he was the one cellbit gathered all that information for). and while he can't totally PREVENT any of that from ever impacting him, he can make sure his kids are well fed, well protected, and as happy + comfortable as he can manage. this is objectively not a perfect situation, there is a guaranteed amount of suffering + fear that he can't mitigate, but he can at least account for it.
like, he REFUSES to engage. whenever curucho shows up, he treats them with total ambivalence. he's not going to get riled up by anything they do, he's not going to get super attached to the guy, he's just gonna laugh it off and irish goodbye it when things drag on. the ONLY time he's strayed from that general guiding principle has been since he's lost his eggs, and can no longer afford to let the federation's fuckery go: those are his fucking kids.
hence the completely unprecedented levels of outward rage and sadness and terror he shows throughout the birdcage streams - almost all directed directly to cucurucho. it's all a completely fair + proportional response to the horror the islanders are being subjected to, but it feels so different bc until now, q!phil has been so dedicated to not reacting, and not giving the federation any sign that they're actually getting to him.
