...and how ironic it is, for him to have insisted so many times that it'll pass, especially after the canon events of season 4. in which you are left alone, with nothing more than a memory of him, and all you can think is how it'll never pass. the love, the grief, the pain - he lied. it won't pass. even when you finally crave it to.

Ooh this is an interesting question because I feel like Jack is lowkey cat-coded himself ngl 😳😳

Generally speaking, he doesn’t dislike animals, but he never grew up around them, so he can get kind of tense/nervous around them just because he’s not really sure how to interact with them. It also doesn’t help that animals can sometimes sense he’s got that demonic funk on him, so they’re prone to disliking him

He’s also fairly territorial & gets jealous more easily than he’d like to admit, so there’s a decent chance he’ll end up competing with your cat(s) for your attention 😐

Like,, if you start petting or baby-talking your kitties, he very well may either pout or start prodding at your for attention—until you’ve no choice but to start cuddling with him instead

Oh, and he’s absolutely get into purring matches with those cats too 😳😳

himh I'll make a Dark Urge that's so fucking scared

big scary bloodsoaked killer, tearing through armies with her literal bare hands? nah. a quiet, scared girl who doesn't understand why she does what she does, why she can do what she can, but is, at the same time, deeply disgusted by herself because she has just enough self-awareness to know to be repulsed.

maybe it's because I'm a tiny bit obsessed with clinging to the thought that people, at the end of the day, are fundamentally good, no matter what. that there is a fundamental human goodness in all people that makes them worthy of redemption, or at least of the opportunity for atonement.

maybe the way I want to play a story like that is with someone who, stripped from indoctrination and free for the first time to think for herself and embrace and be who she is, finds that in the deepest, most hidden pits of her soul, she is not the strong, kind, resilient person she might want to be. try as the might, she is not someone who can bear the weight of her own past, she's just a... a terrified, broken little girl, cowering in the shadows and unable to look herself in the eye. (which also gives me ideas for her relationship with Orin but that's a little bit beside the point)

cathartic self-insert who. therapy? what is that. is it on Steam or Epic.

when writing for characters always take a bit of extra time to ensure they sound good? thinking about having an actual conversation with them for a minute and what they’d do! ♧ personally a big fan of viginettes since that reveals a lot of a character more than mainstory.

Σ('◉⌓◉’) mini (huge) rant within the tags of the way of my process to understand a character!!

#i’ve been trying to work on characterization with trey for example because in the main story he is relatively nice #but within his viginettes he’s a bit more than that like a slightly smug teaser than boy next door.#the characters tend to have complexity rather than one dimension traits people tend to stick by #which isn’t a bad thing but to start writing it could help kick you off but majority of the time your characters do have many emotions to #aspirations- such as vil being mean BUT that coming with subtle charm of care- he does not derive pleasure from purposefully degrading other #he firmly believes he can see the beauty in everyone if they try and he attempts to get others to apply themselves so they can be pretty #he does not go around like ew you’re ugly go away unless you have a negative attitude like leona who purposefully does not put any effort #but sometimes his pursuit for beauty can go out of hand like with epel or neige but his dorm ssr perfectly illustrates he knows what he does #he does not always explain himself with having epel do heavy lifting which only helps epel improve but he would not tell him this directly #there are other characters i can rant about the way i write. such as sebek being a malleus fanboy #but that was not a central part of his personality to warrant every fic just mentioning malleus each sentence #the best way to learn how to write for him would be looking at his viginette or his event story without tsunotarou!! he is quite a wonderful #-ly designed character but gets overlooked due to his ‘louder’ part of his personality. but he genuinely has captivated me as a character #the best examples for eng players would be during harveston- when he was extremely passionate about what he did with a soft side for his #plush!! he’s a big softie. he’s just very confused because his grandfather openly hates humans. he acknowledges marja and complimented her #he’s not hating humans for no reason but because it was taught to him. he’s trying his best to be what he is but you can tell he is not too #prideful that he would refuse to acknowledge marja just for being a human. in fact in his viginette he HELPS humans with their lumber #though that is technically due to him being confident he can do so compared to a human thanks to being a guard for Malleus but he is quite #happy to be complimented!!-. he is a character with more depth: ceremony viginette next #he tells yuu to just let him handle things since he’s stronger which shows he’s also blunt and says things without thinking about others at #times. but people are MISSING out on fics with sebek yuu and tea bonding over tsunotarou because he has no hostility to those who like #tsunotarou. he is happy to teach!! his other viginette think pe??: lilia tricks him into eating steak with yogurt iirc and he does honestly #it’s disgusting but he trusts lilia and 100% believe the old fae. THE POTENTIAL. authors need to use that?? just lilia messing with him or #how he can sometimes be so gullible you can get him to trust you mixed together with how attached he was to squirrel plush #he’s actually such a cute character.#there’s also Kalim who KNOWS there are bad people. he is not innocent as he knows there are bad people that want him gone #his least favorite food is curry because Jamil got sick for a week after taste testing his food.#Kalim just chooses. he wants to believe the kindness of the world not due to purity but due to the fact he does not want to live in constant #fear. which in itself already makes him more than one dimension. he may seem carefree but there’s room to play with when describing him??…#questions of styx.

#nothing's wrong with his joints or anything #he's just always done this #found an old pic of my dog so i could come on here and say that uhh #there's gunshots outside my house #like #a ton of them #and it sounds like theyre getting closer #its one thing if its during the day #'cause im in ye olde south and people love their guns here #but its pitch black outside #and theres a ton of them #and they're getting louder #im sure I'll be okay but I'm not gonna go to sleep until theyve been gone for a while #am an eensy teensy bit scared #probably over nothing but still #if i knew where it was coming from id call the police #if its serious then any tip offs would be good i suppose but theres nothing i can really do #one day I'll post a picture of my dog and that will be it #not rb #edit: its been an hour and they're still going #theyre sporadically getting louder and quieter #its sounding more like target practice but christ its not fun to listen to #edit 2; i think it's done?#i hope so #got me about as scared as i was when someone started pounding on the door during an active shooter drill in elementary school #found out it was just our gym teacher trying to scare us into taking the drill seriously bc we were 10 and didnt think it was a bit deal #in the moment it was scary but i guess it was important #and it worked

Disclaimer: I personally have not finished TBC beyond the first book. I did finish AVOS and its back half is considered poor quality for a reason. If you aren't having fun now I can tell you right now you wouldnt enjoy the rest. At most I think (iirc) the last book is important bc it establishes Juniperclaw attacking SkyClan, and Shadowsight getting a vision to swim in the flooded lake to 'unite' the clans- both of which are relevant to TBC in some way. But even then you could probably skim to the rrlevant parts, IDK.

i'll be real when i made that post last night it was kind of out of sarcasm and pettiness, like i do think im still gonna read those last three books and skim the boring parts at the very least, but that's on me cause now when i look at the post it does come across as very whiny and serious so that's on me lmao. (and i was kinda whiny at the moment cause i always forget about how mean spirited these books are.)

buuuuut hearing what people are saying, it does make me feel a bit better for skimming the back half of avos cause i think thats what i'm gonna have to do for sanity's sake if i want to catch up. i do want to give quotes and takes that are really backed up by the books and not secondhand info so i will try to keep to it but i think if i'm gonna read about thunderclan being shitty to twigpaw then im gonna start skimming cause like, we all know they were shitty to twigpaw now, it was uncomfortable when she was a kid and its uncomfortable still now that she's an adult. you don't need to see that backed up once again.

#i really cant emphasize enough that while i like the petty melodrama i can get out of these books #some of it is really just... exhausting. especially under the new team cause i got the WORST impression of them #ill pay close attention to scenes like briarlight's death and how they regard it and see if twigpaw's treatment improves #but like the main thing abt these books that doesnt hold up is that theyre just... kinda miserable #no one learns anything and any attempt at deconstructing the clans' violence is thrown out with ''but they meant well!''#newsflash! intent doesnt always matter! actions speak louder than words!#and its especially difficult in avos cause while i dont like alderheart. no one here is treated well #i mean i think alder is treated better by the narrative compared to spark but hes gotta deal with his (lbr) emotionally abusive mentor #and the narrative twisting itself backwards to make him a victim and no one agrees with him. and i like underdog protags #but it feels so contrived and mean here. the journey cats all turning on him and demeaning him and twigpaw is so weird #it feels forced and unnecessary. woven for some drawn out conflict so he can be a victim and ooooo doesnt his sister suuuuck #and thats not even touching on the actual shit twig and violet go through. which while its kinda better its still a slog #cause at the end of the day they look directly at the camera and go ''remember! thunderclan did nothing wrong!''#theyll only admit shadowclan is wrong which is ok cause theyre the evil and pathetic clan we're supposed to hate i guess #and the ultimate conclusion is not that the clans were disgusting for treating children that way.#its that they were mistaken all along cause they were CLANBORN children all along! and now we gotta prove skyclan is a valid clan #cause if thats not a valid clan then theyre not valid cats!#and isnt that just. so much worse of a conclusion? that even after darktail was born out of the clans dismissing and mistreating outsiders #theyre not even entertaining the idea that the way they treat cats like him violet and twig isnt okay?#nope! they actually kinda call attention to it in book 3 when darktail says he and violet are alike #and its supposed to be him being wrong and manipulative and gross rather than anything meaningful #avos liveread #mail #idk. sometimes i do regret deciding to catch up cause avos is just a miserable experience so far

oh yeah also have to shout out the young queer theatre-enjoyer (as doer or audience) with christian parent experience of "at least i can be in the choir & be one of like 2-4 tenors & enjoy singing harmonies & most of practice is just chilling b/c it's 95% playing the melody 50x for the twenty sopranos who still don't have it down" while also not having to deal with sitting in the midst of the pews or whatever

#an annoyance was the battle b/c [i'd want to sing louder anyways] & on the one hand kind of subsuming the Bass part b/c there were like #four or six of them & that was kind of a writeoff like they'll just be kind of singing whatever lol #on the other hand after the sopranos had sorta learned the melody line after 65 min the like two dozen of them also could be too readily #drowned out by a few tenors harmonizing. like that sounds like yet another them problem....#like i'm not singing loud loud Loud like whatever soprano would show up at the basilica in dc on xmas & treat it as a concert solo but.#like; i'm gonna be singing; okay #meanwhile moments in Nonbinary But Not Out Yet when my incredible irritation at the authoritative prescriptive comments lol like #i'm telling my roommate who asked I'm A Tenor. they're going wellll tenors have to be boys so.#like well either this is about vocal range or it isn't and already i'm like No Gender Binary even when it's [vocals] edition #serendipitously for kitchen karaoke singalongs (rarer recently w/no aux capabilities...) in essence i have will roland's range lol #ofc i can't sing like That & he's probably got like more comfortably a half step lower; but i can get on that half step sometimes lol #the way ewm son of a gun is too low for me & will roland's is not; moved it up a key or so for him then lol #[handshake] tenors higher than that. and in maybe having a just barely higher range: then; what; singing along with george salazar?#there is a pattern here....suddenly the range of Altos if they just so happened to not be understood as men #also [choir with the benedictine nuns] >>>>> [choir at the more nearby church]#but strictly the Mass at the monastery....only maybe quicker for being a little smaller #more tragically; further away meant an earlier wakeup. bad. but all other instances of hanging w/the nuns chill to fun #also the like [could you not go concert mode here] basilica reverb xmas dc soprano lol it's always like #this podcast talking abt like ''& then the amazing professional dancers in this show would go to the club & be putting on their amazing #dance performances just out there for any randos to see. how amazing'' like people can be impressed with the dancing in a show when they #have chosen to go to the show with the dancing; they didn't go out to a club to stand around watching anyone's pro performance & like what.#should they also all stop & clap in recognition lmao Like. too akin to [guy at party pulls out guitar] even if you're an amazing guitarist #This Is Not The Occasion; Others Didn't Sign On....ofc there's plenty of room for flexibility / spontaneity / ppl totally ready to enjoy #any such event dropped into their laps even if it's not part of their plans....but like. doing your own thing vs requiring everyone else #now Have to be an audience. guy at party who pulls out [i have to loudly insistently say things i want Everyone to laugh at. so that i win]#like i'm not judging the peons who didn't all stop their clubbing to gather round & acknowledge your superior; transcendent clubbing

Ok, if were using Billy Zanes Voice, then absolutely Ansem SOD jumps up that list, it compliments his titty out look. Billy Zane did so good with the voice, all academic and dark and really captured the characters essence. Richard Epcar does a good job dont get me wrong, but i feel he lost some of that academic feel.

i've made An Illegal Amount of posts talking about billy zane's ansem and comparing his work to epcar but yeah BIG agree

it's not that epcar is a bad voice actor- far from it he's voiced a handful of my favorite characters and he's done a wonderful job at that. but epcar's performance is like... it sounds lke he's voicing a totally different character if that makes sense

#snap chats #like epcar's cast type is generally very loud characters. the choice to cast him as ansem really was a strange one tbh #again he's not a bad voice actor by any means but his performance as ansem doesn't feel like ansem #that's not his fault yk billy zane set a pretty high bar #and his voice was pretty much perfect for the kind of character ansem is and the script he was given #zane always had a debonair feel to his line reads: he kepts it leveled and classy #and he always sounded certain of himself yet not overly pompous #his voice was also just smoother and not too deep compared to epcar #which really fit ansem's archetype as a researcher gone mad #opposed to this character who's ALWAYS had a malevolent and dark air to them #epcar always sounded too harsh to me? like you can tell he's trying to be quieter #but maybe its just because /im/ so used to his louder performances so its bizarre trying to hear him be more subtle #idk i went in-depth in comparing them in that audio post i made months back #and i think i said everything i needed to there #ima go rb it again lmaoooo. i have thoughts written on that post but there's also more stuff in the og tags #love how this ask was just saying that zane ansem WAS more attractive and i just did my bullshit analysis shit again #cant help it i love voice work immensely and i love ansem immensely

There is a heart wrenching video of a father who went to buy biscuits for his son only to return and find out his son and the man's wife had both been killed by an Israeli air strike. He is seen putting the pack of biscuits in his son's hand and saying "take it with you to heaven".

There is an indescribable pain to all of this, and I don't know what Israel thinks it's doing by ripping everyone's heart out like this if not to make the whole world resent the mere mention of it.

I don't think the question we should be asking at this point is "how do you justify this?" anymore, even if rhetorically. We need to understand that it is simply irrational to expect an occupying power that built itself on ethnic cleansing to provide any means of reasoning.

This is genocide, you don't debate genocide and you don't rationalise genocide.

I don't care what you do, but speaking about Palestine doesn't suffice anymore. Speak louder, force people to have uncomfortable conversations, call whoever the heck your representative is, go out to rallies if you can, push others to do the same - this is unlike anything we have seen.

Kaeya and Albedo both have a knack for vocal mimicry, though Kaeya is personally far better at mimicking people, animals, and Abyssal creatures, while Albedo can mimic the sound of damn near anything with such startling accuracy, Kaeya sometimes will try and bribe him to come along and terrify the crap out of people-
