I LOVE the fact Miyata is pissed off, the proceeding line about Iwanaga being good at sex, because WHY is he good at sex? Because he's had practice..... So there you are in bed with the guy you have carried in your heart for years, and in comparison to whom you feel lacking (in all ways) and you are loving what he is doing to you and making you feel, but that reminds you - he's experienced....so you're in bed with his previous partners too....

Current grand theory

To be proven wrong next week.

It's about a week after Spring Break. The High 5 Heroes had a quest. It wasn't great, it was kind of last minute. But it got done. They passed. B+ all round.

The Bad Kids end their Spring Break quest, and it was epic. You bet Kipperlilly watched the live stream of the final battle, and probably the others too. Even if they weren't obsessed with the Bad Kids, this was like the fight of the year. And they bring back a god which is wild.

But the thing is, Spring Break is over. Their project is wildly overdue. At some point it gets out that Augefort did some chronomancy and the Bad Kids were back at the right time, and got an A. One also happens to be dating the headmaster's daughter, which definitely didn't influence anything. Also the vice-principal was their hireling (even though he wasn't technically vice principal at the time). Yeah, you can imagine some strings got pulled.

So someone comes up with a plan to one up these guys once and for all. Maybe some members of the party are worried about their college applications, maybe they just want to beat the Bad Kids. If these misfits can bring back a god, so can the High 5 Heroes.

Lucy being so dedicated to Ruvina would probably have heard stories about her once having a sister who she was completely dedicated to. This sister would be the one they would bring back. I don't think Lucy would be the one to suggest it but would have been swayed with "wouldn't this be what Ruvina wanted".

Using the Devil's Nectar, they contact someone, possibly Ruvina herself, and persuade them that they actually know Ankarna's name, so Ruvina (or someone) can tell them about her. They try to bring Ankarna back, which accidentally leads to Lucy's death.

And now they're trying to deal with those consequences.
