Casifer has angst potential with Dean... but what about Sam? It's no mystery what Lucifer did to Sam, and the obvious trauma he left behind. We only got a glimpse of their interaction when they were alone while Dean was on the submarine. Sam was terrified of Lucifer; he spent an entire season with hallucinations and often showed how he feels in his presence. His gestures and his gaze. So... just imagine, after discovering in such a horrible way that Lucifer was possessing Cas, how did he feel after that? How did he feel looking Cas in the eyes knowing his torturer was there? Knowing he wasn't even safe in his safe place and home. It's like if Alistair had used Jimmy's face with Dean too. Wish they'd delved deeper into that. So much potential.

I wish they never brought Lucifer back in season 11, yes, Casifer is fun and everything but they did ruin the character a lot.

One way I think Lucifer could have been in the story though is Castiel hallucinating him the whole time.

Like imagine if Cas hallucitaed like Sam, but he is not just seeing Lucifer but others too and slowly it becomes more of a Cas problem and manifestation and even a way of coping with his isolation and loneliness rather than something happening because of scars from Sam

Anna whisers all his doubts to him, Uriel points out all the 'wrongs' in the world, all the nagative aspects of humans that bother him. and Balthazar is a manifestation of disappointment. And Lucifer, he is all of Castiel's bitterness and anger and other dark thoughts, Naomi is his fear, something like that

Part of me always kinda appreciated that Claire’s story was allowed to be about so much more than her potential as an angelic vessel, but another part was kinda disappointed that the vessel thing was basically never revisited (especially in light of how ridiculously strong the Jimmy vessel was and the whole “Grace fingerprints” thing). So naturally I began wondering “what would’ve been the most traumatic way to reintroduce a Claire-vessel plotline?“

Summary for a spn fic: when I was young I had an imaginary friend who's my boyfriend/husband today.

Guilty are all for the people who don't stop sharing spn's nose boop gifs (the one Sam boops Dean or the red flamboyante witch Rowena boops Dean....it's me or Dean is always the one who is booped?)

Obviously I just had this idea so I don't know how or why but Dean will meet the reader in her past without knowing who she is. With time he will. But she will never know who he was, thinking he was just one of her imaginary friends. And I don't know now because these are just thoughts but she will discover who he is and how that is possible.

I love the idea. 😍😍😍 Imagine she meets him in the normal timeline and believes no one else can see him.

She gets angry and asks where he went to, and why he looks older now. She will tell him that he left her and she had no choice but to date sonofabitch(es). He chuckles and wonders why this woman is mad at him.

She freaks out when Sam joins them, asking Dean who she is. Because Sam can see her imaginary boyfriend.

This one time Kevin got booped.

But most of the time it's Dean. He even boops himself...🤣

How do they meet in empty? Does the shadow let them go? Or would they chase them?

Hi Anon, did you accidentally selected anon and are really the op of the "Cas sneaking Crowley out of the Empty in Season 13" idea?

Yeah there are many questions of how this can happen but challenges are fun.

Crowley could go in Cas' mind in the Casifer situation (and seemed fine until Lucier was beating him). So the end-state is possible, but the logistics takes some engineering LOL. We don't know how exactly the Shadow resurrected Cas either (it would have to remake both his grace and his vessel and his true form I guess? plus his clothes, and the order and location of all of this is open to imagination).

Also when Cas got out he was in a field in day time and he doesn't call the Winchesters till night, presumably was walking to a town with a phone (the Shadow remade his grace and his body and his wings and his clothes but can't make him a cell phone?), but what if it's not that? Time gap...

So lots of possibilities! Look forward to hearing more about it!

S11 continues to be generally enjoyable. I can really see how Carver intended this season to be the finale, likely with Sam & Dean saving the world one last time and then retiring or semi-retiring from hunting... and then of course the show got renewed. definitely some narrative framings that are frustrating, but with the cases and eps themselves being more engaging, it’s easier for me to put them aside. or that I’ve accepted these framings are just how the show is going to work, take it or leave it.

wasn’t actually a big fan of “Just My Imagination,” mostly for petty Deangirl reasons. I do give it credit, though, for being the ep with the best “forgiveness in the face of revenge” ending so far. not always a fan of how SPN approaches forgiveness so was pleasantly surprised how the resolution between Reese and Sully worked for me: the acknowledgement of Sully’s mistakes, how Reese’s violence sprang from her deep hurts, how impacted Reese had been not just by her sister’s death but also Sully leaving instead of sticking around to deal with the harsh reality of it all. there was an discussion of harm and hurt from both sides in a way that felt emotionally balanced & satisfying to me.

the contrast between “The Devil in the Details” and “Into the Mystic” was quite something; the harshness of a Dabb ep versus the lightness of a Thompson one. “Into the Mystic” is prob my fav ep of this season so far. engaging, fun, Eileen is a pretty cool side-character and she & Sam had some fun interactions, and Dean gets his whump moment at the end when it turns out he’s the vulnerable one. it is kind of funny watching later seasons and seeing how many “Destiel” moments that ppl talk about just... are not that in the context of the show. say, Mildred’s comments to Dean abt “following his heart” are very much intended to be about Amara. making them abt Cas is a cute fic idea, but not particularly textually supported, you know?

the Lucifer plot is… fine. altho so far both Lucifer and Casifer’s acting has been more tolerable than I thought it’d be. actually kind of like Misha’s acting as Casifer, to be honest. maybe I was just expecting something completely horrible that what we got seems less bad in comparison. or I haven’t gotten to the really bad stuff yet? Misha does a decent job at playing a character playing another character, acting like Cas but with just enough that the audience can tell he isn’t.

also, I can very much see why Samgirls love this run of the show, because s11 is definitely a Sam Season. the return back to Sam & Lucifer, wow. the writers are not subtle with the implications of Lucifer raping Sam in the Cage. it’s all but direct text, esp with how Jared plays Sam in these scenes. picking up on those threads from s7 and going even further with them. which makes me think maybe they’re also aware of / dealing with the threads around the Mark & sexual violence with Dean/Amara...? but if the writers are, it’s much vaguer & hazier than what they’re doing with Sam/Lucifer.

final minor thing, I really liked the end of “The Vessel” and how shook up Dean was from his time-travel trip. the whole thing abt just being a witness and not being able to do much of anything to save the ship, with Delphine using the hand of God being what kept it out Lucifer’s hands in the end. poignant.

12. Is there an unpopular arc that you like that the fandom doesn’t? Why?

I'm in the small minority who really enjoyed the s12 Mary storyline. I don't like where they went after with s13 and apocalypse world and all of it, and I think s12 definitely could have been better, but I actively enjoyed the bulk of the way s12 was played with the family emotions and mess with Mary.

I hate that she wasn't young and her age makes no sense, but the way she is distant from sam because of her guilt over what she doomed him to, the way she is harsh with dean over being more than just a mother, her discomfort over the way she's been idolized, the way she leaves them and the way she sides with their enemies because she's so damn isolated and so so susceptible to manipulation.

Mary is a goddamn bitch and I love it and love her for it.

that being said, i'd pay any amount of $$ to see them use their narrative threads better in terms of her and Toni Bevell, who the show goes out of their way to establish as a mother for no reason (it feels obvious to me that there was an intended foil there for mary that was just completely dropped as a narrative thread, though i have no idea why).

and i'd pay double that "any amount of $$" for the subsequent s13 storyline with mary to have gone somewhere interesting with lucifer considering she's a potential vessel, or for them to have done something more interesting with jack's parentage (can you imagine if mary was jack's mom???), but even so, i still liked it and i still think it was a good idea to bring her back and open up the board that way. 22. Popular character you hate?

less soapboxing for this question haha, because i'm not sure? most characters i dislike tend to also be disliked by others, at least in supernatural? mostly i just don't feel a strong investment in the majority of the characters.

i don't enjoy late seasons cas all that much but that's down to bad writing and the way his story has gone, not really a dislike of the character. and i mean, i can't stand ketch, but can anyone? (please don't tell me if he's popular, i don't want to know).

the one character i do actively hate is post-s5 lucifer, especially casifer and mark pellegrino's hallucifer. the only time i find lucifer interesting in the slightest in the late seasons is the cave scene in s13 with sam when lucifer is being a calmer and more sinister type of cruel. otherwise he just seems pathetic??? attention-needy and annoying and massively de-powered for no apparent reason and somehow, despite being the literal devil, bland.

tbh i blame bucklemming for like 80% of this but dabb is absolutely not free of blame either, and why gamble allowed hallucifer to be written in that farcical and annoying way, i'll never understand.
