I was the anon with the suggestions and I'm glad and happy to have given some food for thought at least.

I personally was obsessed with Thomas for some reason because from what I remembered from your hollina aus you made him a stern yet anxious military boy, and so a character like Miguel seemed fun to me (because I could see him being like almost too relaxed, as in a "hippie" so to speak lol), but granted, idr much about it and I don't wanna force you into any of my suggestions. Plus looking back I think Thomas may be the younger brother and Miguel defintely doesn't feel or look like a teen still so it may be a tad creepy granted.

But I also like Pocahontas as a choice, especially cause she gives me queer vibes as well usually, like technically I view both as more gay, but they could be a bi4bi power couple as well lol

Actually, you're pretty close to why I "can't" ship Thomas with Miguel and it is indeed because of my Hollina AUs! Could I just ship them on their own? Sure, but that's not how my brain works lolol xD But it's because Thomas already has an entire character arc in my Hollina AUs and adding a lover, no matter their gender, would mess it up - so any lovers he may have would be AFTER "Hollina" has been established, so to speak.

To give just a quick idea; Thomas is the oldest brother of the three children where Lina is the middle child and Jenny is the youngest child. Thomas looks up to his military father to the point where he almost copies everything he does, including following him into the military etc.

This varies from Hollina AU to Hollina AU, but in the High School AU, Lina's father is very homophobic causing Thomas to learn some of that behavior. When Thomas discovers that his beloved little sister (whom he is extremely close with) is in love with another girl, it causes a complete paradigm shift in him that he struggles with for some time; he suddenly feels like he has to choose between his sister and his father.

And that's all I'm gonna say about his character arc for now. Adding a lover to his story would deviate from the paradigm shift in the way I want to write it. And if it were to be a man, then his paradigm shift would start overlapping with Lina's story and that's not the direction I want to go with either redhead Cx

I absolutely agree with you that Thomas and Miguel would be fun with those vibes! Perhaps I can sneak Miguel into a Hollina AU where homophobia isn't as much of a theme so that his character arc could be different from Lina's character arc. It'd be fun to experiment with Thomas having always been attracted to women, suddenly feeling attracted to a man, and then questioning everything: Is he bi? Is he gay? Is Miguel's casual view on sexuality just rubbing off on him? What's happening??? xD

And it'd kinda be fun to make Miguel one of Holli's friends or something, like you mentioned too, so that both Benson teenagers fall in love with a sexually free-spirited blonde pffft xD

Meet Holli's parents for this AU: Alice and her abusive ex-husband Jake. Alice is a former model/actress turned business woman. Jake is a typical sleazy conman in the entertainment industry.

Alice is a very protective mother, caring deeply for her daughter. Jake could care less about his ex-wife and child, unless it benefits him. Holli takes after her mother mostly, but she did inherit her fathers ruthlessness and temper. She also got her smoking and drinking habits from him too.

Now I have to ask this out of curiosity - what would it be like if Hollina, Thraxette and Charmine sat together at a table at, lets say, a wedding or some social event where theyre forced to be? I'm sure each would think "we're the most normal couple here" or something like that. I can imagine an exchange betwern Jasmine and Odette going "I've been shackled to this dummy, whats your excuse for dating a literal monster?" "Well at least he's got a brain in there" "how DARE you!!! No one insults Henry but me!!" And lina trying to calm them down and holli going "no, no, i want to see this"

Sorry this took so long to answer. I wanted to spend some time writing this... thing I wound up writing 😂 I've never done a POV YOU type of writing before, so I hope I managed to make it entertaining 🤣

You're at an annual convention for the ships and OTPs of AiraSora, a (non)Disney crossover editor and fanfiction authors. You see mostly Disney characters, but also characters from similar animation. Some take up a lot of space at the convention and others are out in the corners. The ones in the corners are ships AiraSora only shipped for a short time or have almost forgotten she used to ship. Most of them are human, but there are one or two anthros and one ship that looks like a fox and some yellow jungle animal that kinda looks like a bear... but you instinctively know it's not a bear.

In the middle of the room are the biggest ships aka the OTPs. It's ships Aira has shipped for a long time or only for a little while, but still intensely nevertheless.

The main table of OTPs consists of Hollina, Thraxette, Charmine and Sinric: the big 4. Close to them are Fresme, Rolfmaine, Bakerhood, Jariel Porkins and Tareek along with a few ships from the same franchise, one of them being two blonde kids from a kids show and another from an adult cartoon show with an imp and an owl. The two others are from an anime with a cat girl and an alien with pigtails and lastly, one also from an adult cartoon with a fat, racist kid with a Jewish redhead.

You sneak between the outer circle of AiraSora's OTPs, ignoring the imp and owl making out like there's no tomorrow and the kids both from the child's cartoon and adult cartoon fighting amongst themselves. The anime couple are surprisingly quiet compared to the others, but something tells you it's because the girl is mortified by her position while the alien is enjoying every second sitting next to her.

Curious how The Tetralogy get along, you get close enough to overhear their conversation:

"So, how did AiraSora start shipping you all?" Thumbelina, mostly referred to as Lina by AiraSora, asks the group. "Holli and I met by chance when Aira made a video where she cast us as a hardcore lesbian and a shy, closeted girl. She started shipping us after that."

Holli laughs: "No shit. She's made 50 videos just with us. If this was a contest we'd win."

"Oh, I don't know about that." Thrax interferes and pulls Odette further up on his lap. "Aira might have shipped you two specifically for longer, but she's shipped OUR dynamic since she was 12! Kishigo over there is just another version of us."

Looking over your shoulder, you see the anime couple. It's not just their dynamic that's similar. You'd argue Ichigo also canonically chose a boy who was dull as dirt, much like Odette did with Derek in her movie.

"She might not have shipped us for as long as you have." Jasmine interfered. "But we got a lot of attention when she first started making videos of us. Our first video on her TikTok is her most watched video of all time. Right now, we have almost 900k views!"

Sinbad laughs: "Yeah, your video is also the one with the most hate on it. The video with Eric and me--"

"Has only 3 comments, one that's about Ariel, another that's just tagging two other people and the last is just some emojis." Odette interrupts with a smirk.

"She's only shipped us for 2 months and we're already sitting with you guys. That says a lot." Eric argues and lifts a fist to which Sinbad bumps.

"She's shipped us for over 6 years!" Lina says as she leans on Holli's shoulder. "And we're still going strong. We have the most AUs, stories, videos and she has a whole document just with ideas for us--"

"And when was the last time she made a video with you two?" Jasmine interrupts, smirking. The girls are silent. "That's what I thought. Some people also got really sick of you."

"That's not our fault. It was just overexposure." Holli says to which Lina nods. "You can't blame Aira for being addicted to a couple as likeable as us."

Eric and Sinbad snort. "Sure, but we have received no hate at all yet. And we're a gay ship, so even Aira was positively surprised."

"You get no hate because you're boring." Odette insists. "Your angst is just cause you're gay. My and Thrax' angst though has more layers than ogres do."

"You're also her most toxic ship ever. And she ships Fresme!" Christopher argues and points Frollo and Esmeralda. Frollo is currently, literally, chasing Esmeralda through the room who has a giant smile on her face.

"I WILL GET YOUR ASS!" Frollo yells, not remotely out of breath despite being older than the hellfire that claimed him.

The Tetralogy shiver for a second at the display, but then turn their attention to each other again.

"People love some angst, pretty boy. I don't know what to tell you." Thrax chuckles, sneaking his entire arm around Odette's torso as if afraid she'd try to run off.

"We got angst!" Christopher insists and starts rambling. "What's more angsty than a couple who are clearly meant to be together, but don't get along at first because society is trying to force them together, but then they have to try and fall in love on their own and--"

"Oh, please." Sinbad groans. "You're every 90s RomCom. They always start out hating each other and then magically fall in love."

"Oh, like you and Marina?" Holli asks.

"Nuh-uh. Don't bring canon into this."

"Agreed." Odette sighs, getting a head pat from Thrax.

"At least OUR relationship is based off love and respect." Jasmine says. "What's your excuse for dating a literal monster, Odette?"

"At least mine is hot and has a brain!"

"How dare you! Only I get to insult Kit like that--"

"Um, I think Aira ships us all equally in her own way. There'd no need to fight--" Lina tries to interrupt, but Holli grabs her and brings her back down to her chair.

"Shhh, babe. I want to see this."

"Wait, didn't Aira ship you two at some point?" Eric asks, pointing at Christopher and Odette.

"Briefly. This was before she made Thraxette." Lina explains.

"Yeah, and she only shipped them because she thinks both of them married beneath them in canon."

The Tetralogy look up at you, finally noticing your presence.

"But nothing of that changes that you eight are the Top OTPs for Aira right now. Yeah, some of you have been here longer and some of you are more popular in the fandom than others, but she loves you all for different reasons. And you've helped her shape her story telling and kept inspiring her to create more stories and challenging her. That's something you all have in common. Sure, you all might not stay part of the Tetralogy because people change. But that doesn't erase all the happy memories she's already made with you. And she's not done with any of you yet. There's plenty of angst, sadness, comedy and happiness she can make with all of you."

The Tetralogy smile at each other, realizing you're right.

"Oh, another thing. This is a really weird way of letting you guys know this, buuuut Aira has been trying to find a way to tell you guys about this headcanon, and she hasn't found anything yet, so she's just gonna make me tell you... Christopher and Eric are brothers. OK, bye!"

And with that piece of random information thrown at them, you turn around and leave The Tetralogy to discuss what the hell all of this was even about. And how a random anonymous ask on tumblr resulted in all of this.

So we've seen your take on kids for Hollina and Thrax/Odette, now I'm curious of how you would imagine the children of Anastasia and John if they ever became parents.

I haven't put as much thought into it as of yet, BUT when I first started planning their family it was actually due to a full video crossover idea I got a few years ago:

Inspired by this song from the Tarzan Broadway show, Anastasia and John are struggling with one of their children who has a mentally disabled which makes them aggressive towards other people and even their siblings. I'm not planning on ever full on "diagnosing" this child for multiple reasons and I haven't cast any of the children, but to make this less confusing, let's just call this particular child X.

Multiple doctors have recommended putting X in an institution to receive proper care by professionals. John wants to do it, arguing he and Anastasia simply aren't capable of taking good care of their child and they must protect their other children as well. Anastasia disagrees, saying she feels as if they're abandoning their child.

This results in Anastasia moving to their second home alone with X, leaving her husband and other children in their first home. Anastasia and John are by no means separated, but they disagree on the best way to handle their situation, where Anastasia prioritizes X and John prioritizes their other children.

The video idea was going to make it crystal clear that NEITHER of them are "in the wrong" or evil; they love all their children equally and each other, but are in a complicated situation where there's no decision without sacrifice and victims.

That is about it for Anastasia and John's children. Like I said, it's pretty bare boned in comparison to a lot of other details and AUs etc. But this is what I have so far :D

Could you do a breakdown of each ship and why they're placed where they are? I'd love to read your insights into their relationships! ☺️

*Cracks knuckles* Get ready, this is gonna be LONG. I've done them in order so they're easier to find the ones you're interested in!

Roger & Jessica = Roger and Jessica are essentially just a human Roger Rabbit and Jessica Rabbit; their dynamic is EXTREMELY similar to Jessica's canon relationship. Roger adores Jessica and is utterly devoted to her. Unlike most people, he has never judged her based on her looks, he knows she's just drawn that way 😉 I'm also one of the people who headcanon Jessica as asexual and I honestly don't see Roger being a particularly sexual person. I could see him being grey- or demisexual, but it's not a need of his and he's never has any issues with Jessica's asexuality. He's a massive dork, a massive ally and the best husband a woman like Jessica could ever dream of.

John & Anastasia = The only "issues" Anastasia and John will ever have in their relationship will be Anastasia's insecurities due to her mother's mistreatment of her. But that doesn't equal toxicity and since John is an absolute genuine and patient gentleman, he's good at setting her straight when her brain is being mean to her. With time and patience, they become an extremely strong couple.

Tarzan & Little Creek = This is mostly based off their relationship in my Hollina AUs so bear with the Hollina mentions in this breakdown xD Their names in my Hollina AUs are Michael (Tarzan) and Daniel (Little Creek) based off their voice actors since their canon names don't really fit the modern, American world they live in, so their canon names are their stage names. The only relationship issues Michael and Daniel will face will be in my Hollina werewolf AU, which I don't want to spoil too much, but if you remember the overall plot for that you can probably figure it out on your own. Either way, it's not an internal struggle between them, it's the world forcing a certain mindset on them. So, again, no toxicity here.

Tarzan & Ariel = Again, no actual toxicity within their relationship or their characters, their relationship issues would stem from the outside world. This ship is NOT in my Hollina AUs, just want to make that clear. My shipping them is just due to their cute, curious personalities. They have a decent amount of things in common, them being curious about a world they're sort of a part of, and yet not completely. And since Ariel is a mermaid, them meeting at the beach would just be so perfectly cute. They're adorable, I just love them, they're a serotonin boost. I need to make an actual video with them, I haven't done that for like... 10 years, I don't know x'D

Wendy & Alice = You guys know that these two are my Hollina child cast so... read the Hollina paragraph for their potential toxicity xD

Little Creek & Jane = Again, both characters exist in my Hollina universes, but are NOT together and don't even know each other in any Hollina AUs, so this is a standalone ship too. I've made a few videos with them, they look good and cute together. You know what dynamic they have, it's the same as Tarzan and Jane, Pocahontas and John Smith, Milo and Kida, etc etc etc. Also not a toxic ship, but they would probably give each other some MASSIVE culture shock and that does sometimes lead to some pretty shitty situations. Despite Jane obviously being a really good person, she also does have a small bit of snob in here, hidden under her cute, quirkiness. We see this in the show moreso than the movie, but she was clearly a LADY back in England, so I could see her and Little Creek, while being interested in each other's cultures, have some misunderstandings or disagreements. And sometimes, people don't handle that very well.

Jim & Jane = Another ship that belongs in my Hollina AUs so this is based off that as well. For those not on the know, in the Hollina college AU, Jim is one of Jane's students and they have a VERY secret romance. A major theme in the Hollina college AU is "forbidden love" and so, they were added into the mix. Without going into specific details for the AU, just know that Jane is the youngest professor the college has ever had, and Jim is quite a few years older than the other freshmen, so they are way closer in age than your average professor and freshman. In the college AU, Jim has a secret crush on Lina who is an out and proud lesbian so he knows it ain't happening, and Jane is having her own love problems so their relationship starts off REALLY poorly. They kind of just use each other to soothe their broken hearts, but eventually they do fall in love and their dynamic changes. But it IS not healthy dynamic for a very long time, that's for sure. Nevermind the fact that it's a teacher and student relationship, that is its own can of worms that will be explored too.

Jim & Ariel = In the Hollina high school AU, Jim's love interest is Ariel. He's crushing on Lina here as well while she is in complete denial about her own sexuality and they're "dating" as a way for her to stay in the closet while she's figuring things out with herself and with Holli. He'll eventually be introduced to Ariel, Jessica's mute little sister - and it's practically love at first sight. Now, in this Hollina AU their relationship is actually healthier than his and Jane's (though there is a decent amount of time where Ariel is scared Jim is just using her as a replacement for Lina, which he kind of is at the beginning, even though he's unaware of it), so why is it higher on the list? Well, that's actually based off their relationship OUTSIDE of Hollina. For those who don't know, Jariel is one of my oldest Disney crossover ships and if you ever wanna look at my old shitty videos, I have A LOT of Jariel videos from 5+ years ago. Since they're 16 and 15, one is a space pirate and the other a mermaid, do I really even have to say why I think this relationship could be unhealthy? Raging teenage hormones, both of them have one hell of a temper, it's a long distance relationship in a really unfathomable way AND, well, when have mermaids and pirates ever been a healthy mix? xD

Cassim & Esmeralda = This is very straightforward; both are "street rats", one does it out of need, the other does it out of joy. That's the short version and since I'm capable of giving a short version, you bet I'm gonna do that since most of these are LONG. But if someone wants me to dive deeper into this mostly unexplored ship of mine, do ask and I'll make it a separate post.

Holli & Lina = BOY CAN THESE TWO BE CUNTS TO EACH OTHER. Ok, so no, they're evil or cruel towards one another... on purpose. Most of the time. To avoid this getting really long, I'll write just one (even if it's out of many) point. College AU = Insanely insecure Holli who has abandonment and trust issues which equals her actively trying to push Lina away to the point where she even cheats right in front of her *gasp*. High school AU = Lina is in deep denial about her sexuality due to her old-fashioned, military father and her spineless, overbearing mother doesn't make coming out any easier and this of course hurts Holli a lot cause, let's face it, it's not JUST the fact that Lina is lesbian that she's hiding, it's also the fact she's in love with someone like Holli. High school spin-off = while actually on the side of the more healthier Hollina AUs, Lina does a lot of positive toxicity, which means she's insisting that Holli can be better, resulting in Holli feeling like she's never good enough for Lina. And Holli is addicted to alcohol and even does drugs every now and then, which of course also hurts Lina. And that's it, I'm not diving deeper into Hollina on this post cause we'll be here ALL DAY xD

Basil & Robin = Now, this is one of those that you said surprised you the most, and I don't blame you, because I did once put them on my list of my more healthy ships, but that has changed... sort of. It kinda depends on what you consider toxic and what you consider... challenges. But obviously this is all subjective anyway, and one of the reasons I consider Bakerhood both one of my healthier ships, but also high on the healthy to toxicity list, is because I have two "main stories" that are COMPLETELY on opposite sides of the spectrum. I'll focus on the toxic story; Basil is a detective, dedicating his life to correct wrongdoings. Robin means well, but is in the long run an outlaw who steals. We're already heading into some not so very healthy situations here. Basil has a constant battle within himself for not just caring for, but loving someone who is so dedicated to doing "wrong" even though it's for good reasons. Basil prides himself on following the book and doing things the right way, he's very set in his ways and, let's be honest, could you see anyone convincing him he's wrong... ever? Whereas Robin is of the "the end justifies the means" mindset, and can't understand Basil's point of view AT ALL. He belives if someone is doing harm, he is justified in taking matters into his own hands and fixing their wrongdoings, even if it means doing wrong things himself.

Thrax & Odette = ... Come on. I think 85% of my AUs and stories with these two make their relationship toxic, but sometimes it's Odette's fault! Usually it's Thrax, rarely both of them, but sometimes Odette. Super Psycho Love, Beauty and the Beast = Thrax is toxic. Lovecraft, Perfect Enemy, Amor Meretrix (my newest AU, it's my first time mentioning it, feel free to ask if you're curious) = Both of them. Death Note AU = Odette is toxic. Big Bad Desires, Strange Magic, Romeo & Juliet = Neither.

Frollo & Esmeralda = I... don't have to explain this one, do I? Only reason they're above Thraxette is because Fresme is CANONICALLY toxic. He wants to fucking kill her unless she lets him fuck her, it doesn't get much grosser than that. Obviously, I have my Fresme AUs where none of them are toxic, and even a few where Esmeralda is the toxic cunt and not Frollo, but yeah... most of the time he's the douchebag. Like in the movie xD

Some thoughts Ive had about the handmaids tale hollina au you brought up ages ago but man it would be so good either way. I think itd be so interesting if Holli, as beautiful and, er, voluptious and basically like built for baby making (the wide hips and big breats - sorry if im sound gross im trying to think of it in gilead logic LOL) turns out to be barren. Idk how she'd land in a position as a commanders wife but it'd be such a subversion for her to be the cocky sarcastic woman she is in that position. (I think of serena waterford being all sarcastic about how useless men are in the first season lol). And then youd have Lina who is the sweet pure little bean - what could she have done to land her in the position of handmaid!? I think itd be easier for them to fall into an affair with this dynamic as well - handmaid Lina being submissive to the wife of the household and Holli taking advantage of that. I think thatd be so interesting to explore. But Holli being a stripper/adultress/etc but fertile thus landing as a handmaid and Lina being the perfect image of a wife to a commander sticking to the rules makes a lot more sense if we were to think technically/in-character reality if you threw them in Gilead. Ugh its so hard to choose - I've been thinking about this way too much 🙈 I guess i just wanted to hear more about your thoughts on this au if you have any

I have been in this exact same position for literal MONTHS as well cause DAMN I love both scenarios.

With Holli being the wife, we'd get to see her be absolutely ruthless towards Lina, kinda like Serena towards June. But then Lina might see Holli in a vulnerable position and being as kind as she is offers support and comfort, resulting in them eventually building an odd trust between each other, which would then blossom into love eventually.

I could see Holli not even really wanting a child, and I see her in a really loveless marriage, just as forced upon her as Lina is as a handmaid. I see Holli as this really bitter, unlikable woman whose shell Lina has to spend a lot of time breaking through.

With Lina being the wife, I could see her being so sad to be in the position she's in, heartbroken to watch her husband have sex with another woman in front of her and guilty for being part of a system that regularly rapes women. So she always tries to be kind to Holli, even trying to be her friend, just to provide some sort of comfort. And Holli just wanting absolutely nothing to do with her for, well, obvious reasons.

I could see Holli also viewing Lina as someone really weak, this meek little submissive girl and then, when Holli would get pregnant, I could see a situation where Lina protects Holli from, let's say, an Aunt trying to use that... electrical baton? What's it called? (Please let me know) And Lina would basically FINALLY actually speak up and get angry, and everyone would be in shock cause Lina is this very sweet, meek woman, so no one even knows how to react to hearing her yell at an Aunt.

I guess, while I love both, with Lina being the wife and Holli the handmaid, it gives a pretty cool dynamic shift as wives are usually the dominant ones with handmaids being the submissive ones and to have Holli and Lina, where one is clearly has an overall more aggressive personality than the other in canon, switch dynamics like that would maybe be more interesting.

But, yeah, I love both. I might do both set-ups, and to just make it two short fanfics separate from each other.

Yeah, I tried that, but the issue is that Anya has such a unique eye shape (and nose too, but that changes more from child to adult and is less noticeable) that none of them look right. She has a very obvious almond shape to her eyes and all the kids except for the ones in Mulan 2 (for obvious reasons) have round ones. If she was supposed to be a toddler I honestly wouldn't care as much but she's a little older than at the start of the movie.

On that note I remembered two things I've also been meaning to ask you:

1. I remembered what you said (and I agree) about the animation and such in TLM 2, and I was wondering: is there a single shot where you can see the whole of that beautiful yellow dress she wears at the start?? No matter how I try, either Melody's body is blocking most of the torso, or parts of the boat are blocking most of the skirt. The only time where this doesn't happen is during a very short spin that also has her arms and head in a really weird position...

2. I know you always use Thumbelina as an adult or nearly so (last year of high school for example) but if you were to use her as a younger teen, who would you choose to be her as a grown up? (This occured to me when I saw that Jo had used Lina as teen K Howard in the All You Wanna Do edit, which I thought was rather funny given that the grown up version is Holli xD, but I never remembered to ask you about it!)

Truth be told, people don't care THAT much about whether a child cast perfectly matches their adult cast. We're editors and we all get that we can't find perfect child casts all the time. As long as you don't choose something wildly different, people aren't gonna care that much lol. We all tend to be our own worst critics :)

No, there's unfortunately not any full-body shots of Ariel in that dress without Melody or something else being in the way. These are the closest I could get to it, you'd need to do some editing to show her dress in its fully glory.

2. I believe I've talked about that before; finding "adult" casts for Hollina, but I never found any I thought really fit them. I kinda think Wendy's mom in Peter Pan 1 could work for Lina, but I just don't think there are any REALLY good casting choices for either of them.

For the longest time, I’ve been thinking that Anne Marie from All dogs go to heaven should be Lina’s child portrayal solely because both are Don Bluth animated girls and they have similar facial features (big eyes, etc.) even though their hair, clothes and such didn’t really match, but I could edit that in Anne Marie.

But tonight something struck me... Wendy Darling is kind of a perfect young Lina. Hair color? Check. Eye color? Semi-check (Wendy’s are a strong blue and Lina’s are a pale blue) Both wear blue dresses? Check. Both use hair accessories. Check. It seems so obvious to me now that I’m kinda embarrassed that I never thought of it before.

There’s only one problem I have with this new cast... Penny (Holli’s child portrayal so far) is younger than Wendy. And that doesn’t match for Lina and Holli since Holli is ALWAYS older than Lina no matter which AU of mine they’re in.

So. Holli needs a new child portrayal who either looks to be the same age as Wendy or older. Penny was already not the best match because 1) I only chose her during MxDisney2017 because she had the perfect scenes for Holli’s backstory and 2) her hair color seemed like a good mix between blonde and brown to symbolize her parents. There really was never any deeper reason to it.

It’s not a huge deal if Holli’s child portrayal looks A BIT younger than Wendy. Especially since in some of my AUs they’re pretty close in age. But Penny and Wendy are so obviously far apart in age, and I was never 100% happy with Penny to begin with, not nearly as happy as I am with Wendy being Lina’s child portrayal. Especially since I’ve wanted to edit more with Wendy anyway.

So... who should be Holli’s child portrayal? The only one that springs to mind is Alice, who I also adore and want to edit more with as I used to years back. But I’m not THAT happy with that portrayal. Partially because Alice is very lady-like and Holli is... not. I mean, she does have a fair share of scenes where she looks elegant, sophisticate etc (mostly with the Marilyn Monroe dress) but I still hope I can find a different child portrayal that fits her even better and is around the same age as Wendy.

Any suggestions? xD

Most people seem to agree that Eilonwy is the better fit. My problem remains that she doesn’t have that many scenes in comparison to Alice who has LOADS. And while I thought Alice was too ladylike, Eilonwy’s clothes doesn’t fit even a semi-modern era at all. Alice’s clothes do... Sort of x’D Moreso anyway. So I remain unsure which one I think is the actual better fit :/

My speculation: Either that is Holli and (Thumb)Lina child as not quite Holli blonde shade, yet the parent holding the baby is. Yes, the parent holding has LONGER hair, but hey characters hair can be different. I mean a recent MEP you made, you gave (Thumb)Lina short hair. XD Meanwhile the "while I am gone", maybe Holli goes out looking for her mother's attacker (slash sadly her father)? Either way so curious and please PM me Airasora if I was close in my speculation?

Any health or mental illnesses you could see hollina having in any of your aus? I've see many headcanon Lina has autism and Holli is bipolar for example.

This is a slight spoiler for a few things, BUT my Lina has always suffered from narcolepsy. This isn’t a mental illness, but it was heavily inspired by this video:

This was my first introduction to narcolepsy, and while I don’t necessarily think it could be canon, it intrigued me into “studying” narcolepsy for quite a few hours and I wound up headcanoning Lina with narcolepsy.

(Btw, if any of my followers have narcolepsy and are a Hollina fan, I’d greatly appreciate any suggestions or permission to ask random questions if you’re comfortable with it :))

I’ve seen loads of people headcanon Lina as autistic, and I can definitely see why! It’s never been one of my personal headcanons, not enough to be in any of my AUs anyway, but it’s a headcanon I can definitely get behind x3

For Holli, I’ve never really thought too hard about any “ilnesses”, you could say I’ve been more focused on her background story and the psychological scars that came from that. Having a friend who was diagnosed as bipolar as a child though, and then later schizophrenic and now doctors just don’t know what she might have, I can say that Holli could probably be bipolar.

In my own stories, I most likely won’t add it, because I think her background story is already complex and psychological enough. If I added a legit mental illness to her, I think her character would be “over-kill”, meaning she ALONE would take up so much space in the Hollina universes that Lina would seem very small next to her. Heh 👀

Excerpt from Entre nous                [The Hollina debutante AU]

Here’s an excerpt from my upcoming fanfic “Entre Nous”, based on my Hollina debutante AU:

Lady Tremaine sighed in contempt, but reversed her attention back to Lady Holli. “As you may know, she’s the natural daughter of Joseph Korso and his mistress Nancy Would… After his wife rather conveniently passed away, he presented Nancy Would as his new wife with their child having already been birthed. Not only is she a natural child, she’s the result of a vile affair.”

That was too much exposition to take in at once.

Sharing this particular excerpt, mostly because I wanted to both give a bit of backstory for Holli’s character and role in Entre Nous, but also because, well, I like having some self-irony. And re-reading Lady Tremaine’s line here, the day AFTER initially writing it, I realized how much of an exposition line it really was.

But instead of just FIXING that, I decided to stay true to my initial writing and just have some self-irony thrown in at the next paragraph instead x’D

Chose: Shortaki or Hollina.

OK, so, let’s take a look at these two ships, shall we? Or more like my history with them;

I have shipped Arnold and Helga from Hey Arnold! pretty much even BEFORE I watched the show, which I didn’t until I was an adult. I came across the show for the very time during Nostalgia Critic’s Nicktoons review and even though he only saw the first episode and didn’t seem to have anything positive to say about the show based on so little, it still intruded me. Why? Because of Helga!

Helga has always been my favorite part of the show. I won’t go into a big rant about why, if you’ve watched the full show and its movies, I think it speaks for itself why the majority of fans adore her as much as they do. It was her hilarious obsession with Arnold that first got me into it, but I soon fell in love with her as just her own character too because she really is hilarious, complex and even relatable at some times.

This ship runs deep to me, and the shortest explanation why is because I saw me and my first boyfriend in these two. Like Helga, I had a lot of anger as a child and, unfortunately, as much as I adored my back then boyfriend (we were just 13 when we started dating) I remember not always being super nice to him. Nothing toxic, again we were just kids, but enough for me to think back and really regret it. Arnold reminds me a lot of that boy, both looks and personality-wise. So, this ship has me on a deep personal level as well.

Now Hollina took a while before it really got me hooked. I made my first video with them solely based on the type cast for that video. I wanted a hardcore, sexy, confident lesbian and a shy, closeted lesbian with an abusive boyfriend. I almost cast Belle instead of Lina and I am so happy I wound up NOT doing that because then I might have never discovered Hollina.

Sometime after the first Hollina video (September) and the next one, along with Bellesme and Melice (November) they went from basically just a typecast to a huge ship and I can’t say what it was that made them become so special to me. It’s not like with Shortaki where I can relate to it on a deeper level. In fact, I’m not anything like either of these girls. But they have what ultimately ALL my ships do; total contrast.

Shortaki, Hollina, Fresme, Clouis, Kyman just to mention a few of my ships all have that in common. I love when two characters seem to be so different, but yet have enough in common to find common ground and care for each other despite what the odds may be.

Hollina became my babies in a way Shortaki could never be because Shortaki was already such a popular ship in the fandom. Hollina was practically my own creation (in the sense that I have yet to find anything with both of them together romantically that is older than my first video with them) so I almost kind of adopted them. But I’m always trying to encourage more people to try doing fanwork with them as well cause that what you do with things you love; you want to see more people enjoy it as well and see what other creative minds may come up with. (Looking at you gatekeeping Hollina shippers -.-)

So I think, in the long run, I have to choose Hollina. I haven’t lost my love for Shortaki, but ever since the jungle movie came out and we finally got our happy conclusion, my focus went more and more towards Hollina. Because their story will never be over, you know? Because it... doesn’t exist. OK, that made it sad, but I mean it in the happiest way xD

Much more flirtatious towards Lina, making a game out of embarrassing and teasing Lina

Holli is not as sexually active as people think

Holli spends a lot of time at Tenderloins, helping out with what she can, but is not a hired stripper

Nancy discourages Holli’s smoking and drinking, so she smokes and drinks as little as possible

Will be a very worrisome wife while Lina is pregnant with their child

Lina - Character type: The quiet, conventional, always trying to do what’s right type who holds her feelings close to her heart until she trusts someone

So I was rewatching gangsta and this scene here shows up.

And my stupid shipping brain goes "tragic angsty Hollina with happy ending." So I sit there and just think... how do I use this for hollina?

Then it struck me if I went with @airasora canon it would be a great base for it.... so what if Holli is so traumatized by her mother's suicide as a child that she never wishes to speak. The horror of what she saw that day and the constant questions from the police about it renders her voluntarily mute and she doesnt speak for years. She learns sign language and goes about life like normal. Enter Lina who becomes Hollis salvation. Lina is patient with Holli, even more so when holli explains her past in writing and the reason why she wont speak. Lina understands and asks holli to teach her sign language so she can talk to her and continue a relationship. Holli heals through Linas help and love until finally she is able to over come the trauma she faced. The first time Lina every heard hollis voice, holli tells her "thank you for loving me." Eventually Holli speaks again like normal but she and lina still sign to each other often.
