Confession: I kinda like booty shorts…. I think that they’re more comfortable than knee length loose shorts. I like tank tops and crop tops. Like it’s hot out, I want to be comfortable. I am not overly concerned with “modesty” like that.
I wasn’t allowed to dress comfortably in hot weather after I started puberty bc it was “too sexy” for me not to wear baggy, too long, too hot, ill-fitting clothes according to my mother (and the church) even tho I was a literal child, and I wasn’t supposed to “tempt men to sin” or whatever. I grew up with purity culture forced on me and it’s weird to see that kind of thing being praised as feminist now? Same thing with bikinis being seen as bad. I can’t fit most one-piece bathing suits bc I’m too tall. It’s way easier for me to find a bikini that actually fits.
Knee-length shorts are itchy and I have gotten rashes from the hem of those before because it rubs my skin wrong. I used to only be allowed to wear capris and knee length shorts, and it SUCKED. It was so freeing to finally be an adult and be able to buy and wear the clothes that I wanted to wear and that I felt comfortable in, even tho it was seen as “too sexual” or “slutty” for me to have my shoulders showing and wear shorts that didn’t go past my finger tips. Why should I care if it causes a man to sin in his heart or to “stumble”? Why should I care if it makes people think I’m a brain-dead whore? I can’t control other ppl’s thoughts and they’re wrong for thinking it anyway. Nothing inappropriate is even showing. I’m fully clothed, some people just feel like it’s wrong for women to show “too much” skin. I’m not going to wear uncomfortable clothes just so other people are comfortable instead. It’s none of anyone else’s business if I’m wearing a fucking tank top.
Idc that this purity culture shit is coming out of the mouths of women. That doesn’t change anything. It’s still stupid. It’s complete bullshit. Like you wear whatever you want, I’m not going to insist that other women dress how I do. I just want to be left alone about it and I want other women to be left alone about that kind of thing too. It’s like obsessive at this point. Stop defining women by how much skin they are or are not showing jfc.

Not gonna directly touch on the “what should people wear to Mass discourse” as that is so dependent on location and culture that yeah... not gonna be productive.
But I will say that as a individuals we should strive to “look our best” when attending. So if you’re able to actually plan out what you can wear to Mass (I understand not everyone can), it doesn’t hurt to wear what you’d consider your nice clothes. For me that’s a dress or slacks & blouse, but for some people their nice clothes are a pair of jeans without holes in them and a plain t shirt.
I’m not saying you need to conform what you wear to a specific standard but considering that our Lord and savior is present at the Mass, presenting yourself in an outfit that at makes the occasion distinct from your everyday wear won’t hurt.
And yes I get that there’s people attends for for the first time that aren’t aware of the real presence blah blah blah I’m not speaking about them this whole thing is on people who have a decent catechization and attend Mass frequently.

Dresses are whatever and skirts are sexy, but I have not met a single gender that's not most attractive while wearing a skirt

me: "it's kinda sad that my blorbo is so unpopular and disliked and hardly has any fans at all :( i wish he was more popular :("
me: sees how people who draw popular characters from New Very Popular Thing get ruthlessly scrutinized and harassed and dogpiled by thousands of people for every tiniest bit of alleged misstep and accused of horrible things just for depicting a character in a way someone else doesn't agree with
me: "nevermind this is actually pretty nice"

said this on birdapp earlier cuz I've seen it but if you're planning to redesign Tallulah for the love of god don't take away her curly hair. you can separate her from that man if you change the beanie and sweater (even so people draw more the mushroom hat and the sweater depends on the artist) but her curly hair is part of her identity <- read her admin saying that short and curly hair is canon for Tallulah
that man doesn't own curly hair, his isn't that curly to be honest. not to the extent people draw Tallulah's hair anyway, she's also like one of the few eggs that is constantly drawn with curly hair
I could go on a tangent on how curly haired people (me included btw) struggle with self image and how it always end up with permanently straightening the hair but I feel like it's a conversation for another moment
but yeah the main point is please don't take away her main traits, same goes for her being mexican and having hearing aids

Like I am sooooo tired of the “but Aang actually definitely killed a bunch of people before when he was fighting them and they fell off a building or smth so it’s bad writing/he’s a hypocrite to have a dilemma over killing Ozai” people
Man YOU were the one who sat your ass down and decided to watch a fantasy Nickelodeon cartoon for 12 year olds. You already signed the terms and conditions including the “people are allowed to fall 10000 feet from the air and get exploded and struck by lightning at the same time and be fine in this show” and “people aren’t dead unless we say so” agreements by turning it on. This is a YOU problem

Every time I click on a photo of punk clothes most of the comments are stuff like 'where are the bands' 'this isn't crust' 'cringe' 'name 5 songs' and it makes me so tired and discouraged to do anything. I struggle with OCD and because of this shit I start having obsessive thoughts that I'm not punk enough, my clothes are not enough, my everything is not enough. How do I deal with this ?

screaming into a void: unlabeled queer identities are valid you don't get to decide for someone else what their identity is and if we don't listen to people's words and allow them to self-identify and leave it up to them to tell us who they are and trust their truths then what are we even doing here and people are allowed to have fun with self-expression no matter what their identity is because the whole point is nobody has to adhere to binaries especially with things like fashion and art and real people can't queerbait!!!!!

i recently found some old rolling stone magazines at a local thrift and as i was showing my dad, i was flipping through the ‘99 brad pitt one and he made a comment about how “brad was wearing dresses before harry” (paraphrased in good faith, but also shock, because i still can’t get over how pop cultured by sixty-five year old father is…)
this generally is the discourse point many make when talking about how harry feminizes his expression and identity to the general public, and while i don’t think it’s necessarily a stan twitter talking point veering into a bible thumping lecture, or something that’s from bad faith collectively, it’s odd and mostly disheartening to see this be brought as a response when a masculine-presenting man (to the general eye; tattoos and heartthrob and muscles and all) chooses to wear a dress, or paint his nails, or wear some makeup, or make history and wear a dress on variety’s cover. because yes, people have down this before, and it’s not a “new” idea, but harry has never claimed to be the emblem of feminine men, nor the starter of men who wear dresses and dabble into a more feminine side for the sake of expression — or whatever the hell their reason is, because who cares!
my take on this is that just because people are gushing over harry doing this does not mean people are undermining the ones that did it before him. considering the backlash he got from popular and reactionary conservatives, harry’s success to be open and in touch with his feminine side has a very modern and appealing tenderness to becoming a representative for freedom of expression and these sexual and gender bending ideas in the form of appearance, clothes, etc… the right to be yourself and express that confidently, dammit. and yes, this begs the point that the people before harry have paved the way, but that reaction to harry also eerily reminds us the bigoted time we are living in, where the “silent majority” are fear mongering and pushing their agenda onto the public.
because yeah, maybe brad pitt (a known abuser) can’t reach a young man’s heart, but maybe harry can, and there’s nothing wrong with that: the approach at which harry does it at, or the feelings of that man at which he connects with certain people over others. praise the past, embrace the present.
it is also so fucking weird seeing inherently twitter talking points be spewed out of its echo chamber into my very fangirlish room. it collects dust as we speak.

sorry I know I said I don't do discourse but this has bothered me So Much since this whole catastrophe has started
the original statement was worded so vaguely yet precisely enough to get a very different image across to the listeners. like the wording was vague in a sense that made it sound like what went down was much, much more sinister and in a way that would resonate with victims of SA who were actually touched in areas around their genitals or other places on their bodies that are generally considered very sexual. the whole thing was worded in a way that made it hard to listen to for people who went through SA so they would fill out the blanks with things they experienced. and it makes me so very angry that something like this was used against an innocent man and against all the victims that wanted to support her.

my fave thing about those aggressive tumblr posts that are like *some insane take I have never seen anyone say and a very aggressive response to said take* is the fact the person making the post could feasibly have tricked themselves into believing this is a widespread problem even though literally like one person said something weird and its not actually a common thing OR some insane bizarre new discourse HAS in fact cropped up on some part of the internet I never look at and therefore have never seen and it actually is something a bunch of people are saying.

Happy Spring Fest and Chinese/Lunar New Year!
To celebrate, here are a select few of my D&D OCs in like Hanfu/older Chinese dress. Yes, all my OCs so far would be represented by this because its their culture. Yes I wanted to draw this. No I didn't have time, so we're going to have to settle.
Hailang (Hai) Saangbiar:
Paladin needs her sleeves tight to her wrist. Blue colorscheme.
Tumblr media
And also everything in this link lowkey I want to buy it now HAHA
For example:
Tumblr media
So good so good, first is more "historical" take of this outfit, the second is more of a fantasy take.
Luxury (Lux) Quartz:
Fantasy-esque style with of course added accessories. Can also do both gender's styles. BIG SLEEVES it's part of the drama!
Tumblr media
Obviously, the fan comes along with the outfit. They fucking love the loud sound the fan comes with when opening.
Post Timeskip Lux (future campaign):
Tumblr media
Also! Lux is a drama king so of course they'd rock a Shanghai style modernized qipao. Especially because it was see as a "showy" sensual modern clothing item anyways, they'd be drawn to it. This isn't shown lol I got tired.
Ssatosthülasi (Ula)
I saw this one photoshoot with snake-hanfu and I'm obsessed. She would rock the blue and the white both. Also she would have a relationship this sapphic, and I'll need to write it down eventually. Not shown, but Ula would also rock a modernized qipao. With like. Embroidered snakes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Damien Wang/Gu
Based off the DC character Damian Wayne/Al-Ghul, so of course I had to find something that worked with the wonk colorscheme of red, yellow, and green. AND I FOUND SOMETHING THAT LOOKS DECENT?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh he's drinking alc here well, kinda fits the character if you know you know
Happy spring fest hehe!
