---during his song with Alastor, it's a little confusing because they show an actual camera crew when he's turning the TVs on, but i think it's pretty clear that he can control whatever the screens show visually, thus his little zany sketches and being able to talk to himself and at one point, showed the visual of himself blocking the radio Alastor was projecting on right next door. I can just see him using this to kind of.... fuck with you, really! Or do whatever he wants? He's trying to suck up to you and he's surrounded by roses, or you're his co-host/guest host and he thinks your joke was funny and gives a little audience laughter as a treat

Or you know... you're running from him down the street, passing all these different screens and displays as they power on and show things like, him "jumping in front of you" while demanding you stop or, trying to show some kind of blackmail publicly, or just, begging you to just ACCEPT HIM and showing you all the fun things he could do with you, "cmon, I said I was sorry, stop freaking the fuck out! We can- we can do that thing you've always wanted to do, what about that?!" as he tries to project you two doing something fun, but most importantly, doing it TOGETHER. You're running from him terrified and he's showing you images of like you two smiling and happy or, it becomes scarier as he's more desperate

"Don't-don't make me do something fucked up!! I'm serious, STOP RUNNING" and he's like freaking out, showing shit of trying to hold you down, tying you up, and/or shoving you into a locked room

Sudden thoughts of "what if the more emotional and unstable he becomes, the less he can control his intrusive thoughts and shows his more impulsive darker desires". He's tweeking and the screen glitches and you briefly think you see yourself completely restrained, blindfolded, gagged--

---he's just like OBVIOUSLY so prideful but also immature and whiny ("who gives a shit about alastor?" Well you, mr hes just quietly minding his own business and I'LL start beef because i feel threatened and STILL LOSE, like awww my poor little pogchamp got publicly humiliated in an argument HE started out of nowhere, he's my little sad wet baby lmaoooo) and we already know his relationship with Val can become physically abusive, so, you pair him staying in that kind of relationship, being codependent, with this personality of his, and I can just see.... ACTUALLY FUCKING TRIGGERED LIKE LITERALLY CRYING UPSET VOX BECAUSE YOU REJECTED HIM like he's pissed he's hurt he's lonely he's heartbroken and HELL NO IS HE GONNA ACCEPT THIS

Vox would be over here proudly claiming on his TV show that NO HE REJECTED Y O U, not the other way around! He's not upset! He's totally fine! Meanwhile everyone watching can tell this man is manic and visibly hotboxing copium, "I didn't even really like you anyways!!.... no, I mean, shit, fuck, COMMERCIAL BREAK--" *cut to technical difficulties screen because the man is CRYINGGG*

-- Valentino and Reader bonding over teasing Vox and making him flustered and of course, obviously, the inverse. I still kinda like the idea of "they both think you're cute but like nothing exciting until one night they bump into you unplanned and you're all dressed up". Like Val is from the 70s or 80s so they go to a roller rink disco whatever kinda place because I'm sure the coke game there is INSANE and you're just like, swaying your hips spinning around to Let It Whip or September or something dressed in some shorts that make your ass look just right 🤌

You're sneaking back into the studio after a night out and they're both lounging somewhere and Val's like "uhhhh who is THIS coming in without saying hi to Daddy?" and you pull your sunglasses down like "SIR??? 😳" And now HE'S flustered because he didn't know that was you and Vox is feeling some new kinda way because he's used to seeing you in like, your work uniform or casual wear

Val who then makes your work uniform really slutty and you have to serve him and Vox wearing it 😩❤️

---I have this thought of like lmao imagine walking down the sidewalk with Angel and seeing Vox on TV and Angel is like "ya know he can see everything outta dese things when he's plugged in" and you're like "bullshit, he couldn't possibly process that many screens at once, it'd overload his brain, he wouldnt be able to concentrate" and you're like "here I'll prove it, hey Vox, check it out you fucking dweeb" and flash him your bare titties or you MOON HIM

scenario A would be that he INSTANTLY barks out laughing, "hey Val, that dumb slut who brings you drinks just flashed me!" And he just totally shows it on the air, maybe partially censored, maybe not at all, your phone is ringing IMMEDIATELY, of COURSE it's Val, and Vox is broadcasting your mortified embarrassed expression, "our big story tonight: drunk bimbo fucks around and finds out! More updates after this word from our sponsor!" and the man will noooootttttttt stop bullying the fuck out of you afterwards, because he's got a crush on you and you're like someone weaker than him his insecure ass can punch down on

Scenario B is that he instantly turns pink and about 5 seconds later he blue screens and the entire city experiences a blackout and when he comes back on the air he's like stammering and, glancing at, it FEELS like he keeps glancing at you, but, is he really?

Silly little double post cause I thought of this SECONDS after my original post bitching about the Hotel.

I have a theory on why people don't complain about the black characters designs of Hazbin Hotel. (I'll talk about it at the end)

Let's talk about the 4 black characters of Hazbin Hotel that people defend the designs with their LIFE.

First up:

ALASTOR

Alastor has been confirmed to be a mixed Creole man from Louisiana. Does he look like it? No. No he doesn't. If you told me this man has the whitest parents this side of hell then I would believe you. There I nothing visually that gives away he may have black features. Nose shape, lips, not ashy grey skin (something well see just you wait), thy couldn't even be dammned to give him curly hair or nothing! He doesn't have no black features and it's really off putting.

People argue that he has a white parent, a part that could play in him not having black features. I will remind you all again that I am not mixed. I am white. Mixed people can look any way. There is no specific way for mixed people to look. But cmon. No black features at all? Nothing? Personally I believe that Alastor want designed to be black. I believe that Vivziepop only made him black to justify him using voodoo. This is only speculation but to each their own.

Side note but the way yall attack people, mostly on Tiktok, about redesigns or re imagines is actually depressing. Could make a whole rant on that in general.

Next up:

VELVETTE

Thir is similar issues with Alastor and Velvette. No textured hair, no nose shape, no difference in her lips, ashy grey skin. While I like that Velvette changes hair styles every episode, personally I think that Velvette should have more black hairstyles. Like Velvette with braids or dreadlocks would be so cool. To this shows credit, Velvette did have a afro in episode 8. Honestly that should be her starter hair before she changes it. That would be so cute. Manifesting Velvette with a afro.

3rd:

Sera

Sera I would argue is the best designed black character. She actually has more pigmented brown skin and her hair I think is supposed to resemble dreadlocks. Personally I think their is room for improvement. She could be browner, less ashy looking, since she actually had a nose it could be a different shape then just straight, their could be more detail for her hair. While she's the best designed character, their is room to grow.

Side note: Y'all hating Sera too much. I see fanart and animatics of her being this blood thirsty killer that is jus destroying hell. Yall she is actively shown in the first 2 minutes of Hazbin not agreeing with the exterminations and actively frowning at the idea of murder. Sera is great I don't know what yall are on.

Last and certainly least because oh my god:

Emily

This is not a black woman. No I don't care that Viv said she's or that her Bible page says she is. Where is any black features? Her skin is gray, she has pencil thin lips like me, a white boy, she has stringy straight hair, and no nose at all.

This goes along with Sera as well but people say that they are angel's and don't have to look like black women because their angels and don't have a race. Which 1. Is wrong because Emily's Bible page said she was a youthful 20 something black woman and 2. If their angel's that dont have races then that fine. But.

DON'T SAY THEIR BLACK WOMAN AND THEN NOT DESIGN THEM LIKE IT.

If Viv just left them raceless then the would have been fine. But that not what she did. She made them black and then back peddled when people said that they didn't look like black woman. She tried to have her cake and eat it too. No, I don't care their angel's, if your going to give them a race then commit to it.

Let's get on to my conspiracy theory. I've noticed something in the Hazbin Hotel fandom that I think is the reason for the dismissal of the black characters no having black features.

Fanart.

I'm going somewhere with this is swear.

Go to Tumblr or Tiktok and see the art people create of Hazbin Hotel. You'll notice that people give Alastor and Velvette brown skin, they give Emily curly hair, they give Velvette full lips and different black hairstyles.

People make their art of the black characters looking black so when people see it they associate it with the show.

This is of course just a theory but I've noticed it alot and I think it's a pretty damn good explanation.

Sorry if this isn't as good as my other rants, I tried to get this out quickly because my theory was bothering me.

for starts yes i AM working on it, i actually started recently and it’s so much easier writing for girls since i have more fun so i feel it maaayyyyyyy get done quicker. but i also want to come on and say that yes, while i will be posting it to tumblr, i think i might make it on wattpad too. its only because i feel like it might be easier for people to read if they read it on wattpad to just scroll and also people usually read series on wattpad and come to tumblr if they wanna read oneshots (beside like oneshot books). and also i like how i can just brainstorm it all together on wattpad and make it look all pretty so… anyways with my AMAZING graphic design skills lemme start showing sneak peaks 😒😒

you can see a little peak of the cover 🤭 BAHAHAHAH but yeah this is what i have going on so far. im also an extreme perfectionist and because i made the wattpad cover start with the capitalization i refuse to not make the titles or writing be lowercase.

ANYWAYS! to start, i usually write gwen with spider gwen in mind so her age is usually between 16-18 in my stuff with the acception of the fics i do that specifically link to spiderverse but she usually is her comic 17-18 version. but for the plot i am gonna take HEAVY inspiration from one of the gwenom comics but its also gonna be based on the comic where she is starting college but when the plot starts she’s already been like a student maybe like a year in.

and secondly….this will NOT be the gwen we know and love or should i say the gwen YALL know and love. i kinda want to mess with her characterization to make it interesting like yes gwen is gonna be the awkward but nice girl but also like because i want this au version of earth 65 to be a little melancholy or dark vibes to it she WILL be a bit of an asshole at times, real cocky, and so on- like it’s gonna be so fun UGH!!

thirdly, im not sure if there is gonna be downright smut in this. like again, ik i have written “suggestive” content like my makeouts because i don’t necessarily write for strictly spiderverse gwen but just a whole amalgamation of it and its always based on comics so she’s like 17-18. i’m bringing this up because if you read carmilla- CMON NOW😭😭😭 there will be the suggestive scenes but idk if imma do it because while this will be the college version of gwen from the comics around 18-19 like i never wrote stuff like that and also don’t wanna perpetuate or feed content to the predator gwen fans on ANY platform. not like carmilla is heavy in sex i just wanna preface that because it’s always weird when people utilize au from something heavily sexual so it implies that the content WILL be sexual and not that that’s wrong in this case i just wanna let yall know you can expect content but not THAT content.

LASTLY the plot is lowkey short like i haven’t fleshed it out yet because i haven’t been having fun on tumblr when i write for guys so i wanna have fun with this and take my time writing the chapters before even releasing them so i don’t worry about dates for theme. but it won’t be like an intense lead rn it’s looking like MAYBE 15 chapters? possibly 20. i want a good balance of plot heavy and also gwen content in it that is sub plots to intensify the main plot (someone break me out of ap lang im gnawing at the enclosure) but i’m still working on it.

so yeah this is just little teasers for now and y’all can tell me what you think. im making little notes and stuff and im gonna woke on the plot and then just get straight to writing so i can just post a chapter weekly until we at the end so it gives me time to sprinkle other stuff in as well. i been over astv and just wanna write for my favorite women so this is me taking my stand on business 😒

I hate how people who don't ship Huntlow make it like this extremely stupid and unnecessary ship that makes zero sense and everything about it is terrible and it's forced and bland and overall a shitty ship

And today lady's and gentlemen, non binary folks in the back, is the day I prove them all wrong >:3!!!

A brief disclaimer, I am not nor do I consider myself a toxic shipper, I am just simply stating why the reasons don't make any sense in my eyes, so please don't come at me for my opinion

And with that let's get to the reasons!

Terrible first impression

Hunter got a crush on her too quickly

It's forced and rushed

No chemistry

Willow only serves Hunter for support

They're better off as friends

Okay so right off the bat if you've ever watched any episode containing Hunter and Willow you'd know all of these reasons are fucking stupid

Recently on my first post made on Tumblr was a TON ship rating, and some dumb fuck gave me attitude and said "girlie, have you ever been in the fandom?" And I was like thinking to myself, yes bitch ever since 2021, I don't really have time to respond to people in my inbox cause I'm not looking to fight with some bitch on the internet for my opinion, and I just went through their profile a bit and found a post either they made or reblogged about how Huntlow is supposedly "unrealistic" and I didn't even finish it due to how dumb the reasons were, which are the ones on the top that I remembered.

1. Terrible first impression

I actually hate it how they make it out that they met soooo terribly, cause if I remembered correctly in ASIAS how they met is Hunter being chased by puddles and Willow yanking him down with a vine, automatically making it so terrible and making her soooooo damn unlikeable, may i remind you this barley had an affect on Hunter, he was just scared and confused for like one second of the episode then just leaving Willow until he saw the pamphlet say "the best and the brightest" which lead him to join the Emerald Entrails, yet again, sure, their first encounter isn't a good one but Lumity's first impression was by Amity deadass shaking Luz back and forth, both equally terrible first impression yet the both ships still come to be canon >:3

2. Hunter had a crush on Willow the moment they met/too easily

I ABSOLUTELY FUCKING HATE THIS REASON, they keep on overexaggerating their interactions, cause first of all, no, he didn't develop a crush on Willow on the spot, most likely in between Reaching Out and Kings tide, although Hunter isn't in Reaching Out he's only shown talking to Luz through Penstegram, and how they think Hunter already had a crush is by, I'm assuming, in ASIAS in the ending where Hunter saves the Emerald Entrails and Willow says "cmon guys, we need to find a replacement, after all, it's only 52 weeks before Caleb's next day off" while smiling, and Hunter blushes slightly, automatically that's a red flag cause I absolutely hate it when people think blushing is only exclusive to romantic attraction, IT'S GETTING ON MY DAMN NERVES, the most realistic reason to why he'd blush is he was probably embarrassed/flustered that Willow would still let him be in the team after nearly kidnapping them to be in the Emperor's Coven.

3. It's forced/rushed

Omg, y'all, you can uncancel your show now!! NO YOU DUMB FUCK YOU CAN'T, SORRY POOKIE DANA CAN'T BE MAKING EVERY EPISODE ABOUT HUNTLOW IF YOU WANT IT TO BE MORE NATURAL SO DAMN BADLY, it's not rushed, in my opinion it's not rushed at all, with how much time skips there are (like the one in TTT, the four year time skips, and the one with Hunter and Willow chatting on Penstegram) it's kinda up to the viewers imagination to realize it's a lot of time they'd have together, and it's not forced, that's the equivalent to you saying gustholomule and aladarius and veesha are forced ships cause they don't interact much together, and like half of the TOH community who don't ship Huntlow and use that excuse most likely ship one of those three ships, fucking hypocrites 🖕

4. No chemistry

Y know maybe, JUST MAYBE, I might be pulling out every damn interaction that they have together...yeah...IMA DO IT BITCH!!!!

They're first interaction is in Any Sport In a Storm where Hunter is pulled down by vines by Willow after he got chased by Puddles, Viney's pet...? I think it's a pet, she calls him an assistant though lol. Hunter uses the fake persona, with the help of Flapjack, (and may he slay in peace with Caleb and Evelyn) of Caleb Jasper Bloodwilliams, Hunter isn't interested in flyer derby until it says it'll attract the best and the brightest, they go on to talk about it for a few seconds, then leave

This isn't a really romantic interaction, more just letting these two characters interact for the first time

A while passes and Hunter shows of his cool as fuck flying skills as Gus and Willow hand out pamphlets to the crowds of teens, as Hunter finishes Willow introduces him to the team, Gus, Viney, Skara, and Willow as herself, Hunter is obviously disappointed given they look like they don't have any experience, leading him to walk away and argue with Willow, calling them loosers, and calling himself a half a witch

THIS PART IS VERY IMPORTANT!!! people tend to misunderstand this part, mainly because Hunter isn't a witch he's a grimwalker, but may I remind you this was made before Hollow Mind, he's convinced he's a powerless witch and not good enough LIKE WILLOW, IT DOES NOT HAVE ANY THING REMOTELY TO DO WITH BEING ROMANTIC, IT'S A SIMILARLY!!!

They go on to do the game and obviously win it because of Hunter, and in the part where he was grabbing the flags from Willow people said that he supposedly "wanted to hold hands with her" which is obviously not even true, there's nothing to back this up, and coming from Huntlow shippers too, thought y'all were better than this

Then Hunter goes on to say he misunderstood them and apologized, then to revealing himself as the Golden Guard and the scouts coming to take them away, which leaves Willow to realize she made a mistake

When she's in the cell she says she's made a mistake and calls herself "half a witch Willow" for letting Hunter onto the team

Hunter is obviously regretting this decision while talking to Steve, Steve saying "Steve is beginning to regret his choices" and Hunter says "I think Hunter is too", which he gets on Flapjack to try and save all of them

He stands in front of the team and admits to Darius that they're unfit for the coven and that HUNTER HIMSELF isn't worthy of being the Golden Guard, (now realizing how fucked up that is oh my Titan), Hunter let's Willow and the rest go, which Willow says "cmon guys, we need to find a replacement, after all, it's only 52 weeks before Caleb's next day off" and Hunter blushes slightly

This interaction isn't really much romantic other than Hunter saving Willow and the rest

They're next interaction is Labyrinth Runners where Hunter and Gus meet the illusion of Willow, but Hunter obviously knows this isn't here by first of all, calling Gus "Augustus", and the weird little noise she made at the end (idk wtf it's even called) Hunter knows it's not her because of the way the scout acts, Hunters known Willow for at least a few weeks depending how regularly Hunter texts Willow and when he first started to chat,

Hunter then goes unconscious by the guards and wakes up in the Healing Homeroom, explaining to principle Bump that he's not with the Emperor's coven, talking about the sandwich Gus gave him, showing him around hexside and trying to find the others, and most importantly the breathing technique Willow showed Gus in the beginning of Labyrinth Runners, immediately cutting off Hunter and convincing Bump to let Hunter stay

This interaction could possibly be romantic if you interpret that way by Hunter knowing Willow seemingly very well, kinda like a strangers to friends to lovers typa troupe

Their next interaction is in Clouds on the Horizon, although not talking they show extreme care for one another, while under Gus' spell, Hunter (looking like Luz) tackles Willow to the ground with his dashing powers to save Willow, also when Luz (looking like Hunter) gets captured by Kiki. She's enraged and darting at Kiki but that stupid bitch hid behind Luz forcing Willow to stop, as Luz gets captured Willow is in a rush, panic, and hurry to save Hunter, or so she thinks it's Hunter

No, just because it's not Hunter doesn't mean she doesn't care, she thought it was him, and by her actions she cares along about him! Which makes this possibly or already romantic, they're care for each other is a romantic aspect that could be easily be seen in any type of relationship, whether it be fictional or not

The next interaction is in Thanks to Them, Willow cuts Hunters hair, Hunter is flustered s bit and blushing at Willow, a common sign for CRUSHES IN PEOPLE, they tend to be nervous or anxious around the people they like, so this interaction just reeks of romance, when they're gonna search town Hunter gets in a Cosmic Frontier cosplay, which Willow shuts Amity the fuck up, complimenting Hunter on his outfit, implying she doesn't see anything wrong with it, before they leave Willow says after Hunters done reading Cosmic Frontier she'd like to borrow and read it, making Hunter blush, a sign of having a crush with the context of the moment

Then at the end of Thanks to them after the possession Hunter let's Willow craddle his head, obviously in need of some type if comfort

Not really romantic just fucking sad cause Flapjack died, and may he slay in peace

The next interaction is in FTF where Willow tries to find her dads and Hunter has to take her away or get risked by getting seen by the collector and turned into a puppet

Not much to say other than Hunter doesn't want Willow to get hurt and get collected

When they're in hexside Willow hands Hunter a flyer derby card with him and Flapjack, since Hunter is now showing more strong emotions he's not sure how to react to it, even though he's thankful, which leads Willow to thinking she made Hunter sad and left in a hurry, leading to her breakdown

As Hunter hears Willow self deprecate on herself by saying she's a half a witch and can't control her magic, Hunter immediately snaps and uses his Flapjack powers to cut through the vines and comfort Willow, LEGITIMATELY SAYING HE CARES ABOUT WILLOW, NOT JUST GUS, WILLOW, and saving them both from the cave thingy, dunno what it is

This whole scene reeks of romance and that both Willow and Hunter care deeply about each other, WHICH IS MOST COMMONLY ROOTED IN RELATIONSHIPS

Willow also says in the end of FTF whole doing the little pinky holding with Hunter "Thanks Hunter, you mean a lot to me too" which Hunter replies "Sure...no problem"

And that my friends, is all of their interactions

NOW THE NEXT FUCKING REASON DAMMIT I HAVE SO MUCH TO TYPE

5. Willows only there to be a supportive character

That's...thats literally her fucking personality, granted not her whole personality but it consists of her being the reliable friend for the hexsquad, the group wouldn't exist without her, and she's not just here for "comfort" but this is about Huntlow and not Willow so you can do that analysis on your own time XD

6. They're better off as friends

Well...if you just read my whole entire analysis of they're interactions then no...I don't think they'd be better off as friends... 0_0

Renovating is pretty exhausting so of course a lot of work means a lot of rest. There's many ways to do so such as sitting down with some tea and snacks, reading together or to each other, cuddling or watching movies; either way you spend this time together quite often 

speaking of movies, movie and show nights! At first at least there might be more of Casimir nerding over the technology than watching though /hj. Someone just please show this man the Beauty and the Beast. Or Transformers. First one is self explanatory, second one I just think would be funny. Also maybe Howls moving castle. That might be super far fetched but I think he'd like studio Ghibli. 

Bonding with Mimi! Casimir really wants to gain back her trust and having you be there calms him Mimi. Though it's better than it used to be already there's still some tension between them and you're definitely helping. You also get to spend time with both of them so that's definitely a win!

You cannot convince me this man doesn't go into hour long rants and rambles about his interests after you asked one simple question. He can get pretty lost in it once he started and tends to get a little embarrassed about it once he realises. Cmon, he was all by himself for multiple centuries, he's not used to people being around. You encouraging him to go on, asking questions or referencing things he told you later on means a lot to him. 

Of course it goes both ways, he absolutely loves listening to you talk, especially about things you're passionate about and will try to bring it up again later or engage in your hobbies with you together. He genuinely wants to know about you and your interests, for one he hasn't really heard from/about anyone else for a very long time (not counting cats and buildings) and also you're, of course he wants to hear everything you have to say

Okay okay okay this one's my personal favourite: hide and seek.​ I actually might write a whole own thing about that at some point soon because it'd just be so much fun!​ The house is quite big with super many hiding spaces. Now it's not something he'd suggest and yeah it might take some force persuasion to convince him but if you ask him really really nicely hell probably say yes, or just annoy him till he agrees (even more effective if Rainier joins). Alternatively just hide somewhere so he has no choice but to search (you definitely gave him a heart attack the first time you did that)

Casimir is old fashioned (I mean- how wouldn't he be) so your regular date nights are pretty classic. Usually it's a romantic dinner (brought to you by The House TM), sometimes it's dancing (like that one paid scene(? Is there one? Or am I mixing something up? Idk); he was taught to be a gentleman and he's gonna use that /hj

Bringing him modern things from shopping trips. It started off by you bringing him something he was curious about after you mentioned it and quickly developed into a habit of you bringing him trinkets whenever you're out. His curiosity makes you much more aware of how interesting even little thins can be and soon turned to you coming back from trips out the house with a bag of things like toys, gadgets and other fun things from the dollar store or similar. You then spend the day looking at what you brought, how it works and so on. Imagine spending the day with Casimir trying out a bunch of toys you bought or found with your old stuff (the type for children, don't think wrong here)

adding onto this because I love the idea of doing fun childish things with him (you'd have to be the one to initiate them though, potentially ‘force’ him, but he secretly enjoys it). Silly sleepovers with pillow forts, movies, teeny magazines (I want to just hand this guy a stack of these teen magazines and see what happens so bad), and snacks! 

related a bit to the one above but spa days! He definitely needs some more self care. I do kinda think he likes stuff as skincare and and used to have a routine (nobility and stuff) he likely had to cut short or even drop it completely with the house's hostility. But now you're there and not only are there so many products your world has for this, it's also much more fun together, leading to entire days planned only for spa and wellness activities (like doing each other's nails, I have a little theory connected to Casimir and acrylic nails but that's all I'm saying on that)

What are they bitching about? Is it shippers? I hate sounding like an oldie with the whole "back in my day" thing, but I miss the days of fandom where if your ship didn't become canon, you mostly didn't expect it would, and anyway, thats what fanfiction is for. I know there were some Tbecca shippers in particular who were VERY vocally displeased that it wasn't canon

honestly in typical twitter fashion everyone starts yelling at one another without giving full context on anything so idk the details of what happened, and I'd rather not dive deeper. From what I've seen, it appears like there wasn't a specific interaction that caused it, and so I don't want to target a specific group of fans. Who knows, maybe it has nothing to do with fans and he deleted for personal reasons. Apparently, he was blocking a bunch of fans a week or two back because people were still being out-of-pocket about the ending not being to their liking, and there was a certain pocket of the fandom straight up harassing the man after his reddit AMA answers.... (I didn't like all of his answers either, so I made one annoyed tumblr post about it and then moved on with my life. Like??? it isn't hard to find a space to vent without being nasty directly to others, cmon.)

Idk how far back we're going with old fandoms, but every fandom I've been in has had a certain level of wacky behavior tbh 😂. the biggest shift I've noticed in recent years is moving away from inter-fandom "ship wars" (thank god, or maybe I've just better learnt to mind my business and stay in my corners lol) to directing anger about ships, storylines, and whatever else at the creators themselves and especially the writers, and as you said, feeling entitled to what they want to happen actually happening on the show. Which, again, I also cry "bad writing!!" all the time, like I'm not pretending to be a fandom saint, but there's a way to do it without tweeting out hatred to the artists.... 🤷‍♀️ at the end of the day it's their show and they get to write whatever tf they want, just like how i can open my little word doc and write whatever EYE want!! in a way that isn't super unhinged, weird & mean!!

I haven’t been on tumblr in a while, but i’m here to rant to you, my fellow sensible pissed off carat “hag” LOL

I posted on weverse today (hidden from artist), calling out the people who are harassing joshua and the girl, and the people who sent a protest truck (which is an embarrassment, and funnily enough the korean antis also find it embarrassing and unnecessary), telling them to get a life or find a hobby. Not even a minute since i posted and someone replied that I’M “despicable” for calling out fans on weverse. HUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Actually i don’t know what to say about that bec i am so dumbfounded.. another person replied that joshua was caught lip syncing at the concert. ?? i find that “issue” SO ANNOYING because 1) most, if not all, artists lip sync to some extent at concerts, unless they don’t do intense choreography. Even band vocalists stop singing for a bit to catch their breath.. 2) this wasn’t an issue prior to the dating rumors. No one cared! But now they hate joshua and will shit on him for everything <3

Also asked korean carats yesterday to explain to me how dating as an idol is considered “deceiving fans”. They replied to me explaining that it’s because joshua was rarely on ig/wv, but all this time he’s been doing lovestagram with a girl. I get it, but also i don’t think it’s valid cmon now ……….. they’re so offended to the point that someone shaved their eyebrows after hearing the rumors, and another commented a 5-page essay on joshua’s instagram about idols deceiving fans

And NOW another person posted on weibo starting a rumor that hoshi and rv y3r1 are dating. I need people to be for real. I NEED THEM TO SHUT UPPPPPPPP 😭😭😭😭

first is a question: do you usually watch the episodes live? I wanted to get your take like right away on this weeks ep but didn’t want to bombard you with spoilers 😂

second re: Liv and the shotgun. first thing I thought of? well that’s sexy. and badass. bc if I had personally been through all the shit that Liv has and this was happening to me? You best believe I’d be doing the same. so for me to see all the backlash on this? (safety, kid in the house, etc.) like this grown ass woman isn’t a decorated nypd CAPTAIN and police officer for half her life. like cmon friends. lol.

ok so third I’m LOVING at this continuity piece they slipped in with oc by saying Elliot lost a friend, partner recently. It puts so much into perspective as to why they don’t talk. it also gives the shows and sr’s an out I think. What I mean by that is I know some big accounts on Twitter (and more than one) talk about having one sided conversations on the respective shows. Like why can’t we see a “text” from Elliot or a “call” from Liv? This requires no budget, planning, etc. (and I agree with that perspective) but it just gave us so much. And that’s so positive imo. Like FINALLY we’re acknowledging this pink elephant in the room as to why that hasn’t happened and that was awesome for continuity and esp for progression.

I think it also gives the viewers a chance to be rightfully angry for Liv and at Elliot in a way we haven’t seen yet. He just acknowledged that he was neglectful, selfish, etc. that hasn’t been talked about yet. so we aren’t watching two different shows in two different universes. there is a reason!

In all, I just think that that one comment gave us so much and that has allllllll the potential for this upcoming arc. It’s disheartening to see the negativity about it in twitter, but hey that’s Twitter for ya. 😂

lastly, I say all these things with respect and a little bit of humor-never anything seriously negative. I know how tone can be weird through the screen and would never want to come off that way or disrespect anyone in any way 🥰🥰

first - i do watch episodes live! i usually don't liveblog or check in on tumblr or twitter, but i always post a little immediate thought when oc is over and my inbox is always open for yelling lol

second - yes. there was an immediate backlash to the visual of it, a backlash that doesn't account for who she is, what we know about her, what we saw, and what we didn't. i'm surprised anyone is surprised she has that weapon at home. i think it makes people uncomfortable, and i understand that, but olivia isn't us. olivia lives a very different life from most of us, and she has a familiarity with guns, and a real, visceral reason to be afraid for her safety, and she had to turn in her service weapon. and of course in the wake of a trauma like that this is how she responds. i personally loved it.

third - yes i'm actually kinda hype for the idea that they had a falling out, or a drifting apart, and they are going to have a chance to choose. when he's healed and she's not trying to hold his life together any more and they both have to think about they really want. i'd rather them be in a fucking fight and angry with each other than find out they were having a lot of important relationship development that we didn't get to see.

Din was the son of New York's most scarred Mob Boss, Everybody knew of the Djarins. Din never had a bad grade on a paper, Never got into any trouble with the law, Even when he bent it. He had the easiest life, People were too scared to refuse him. He didn't have to worry about women refusing him either. But not in the creepy way he'd force them if they said no way, They all just wanted a try at the richest man(of their age) in Manhattan. He got whatever he wanted, Until he met Tia.

Tia worked at a local diner over in Brooklyn where she also lived, A nice collage girl, Studying to be director. Her actual dream was to act but she would take any job in the industry.

Din only knew of Tia because he was good friends with her older cousin, Rocky, who he went to high school with, He’d seen her at one of her family's cookout’s a few summers ago when she first graduated high school.

Din pulled up to the diner on his bike, Parking across the street, He rested on the seat of his bike to watch Tia take a couples order, He examined her, Noticing her fresh silk pressed hair, Which she’d just dyed ginger a couple of weeks ago. Said she wanted a change to her appearance, At least that's what Rocky told him she said.

Tia walked back into the diner to retrieve the couples drinks and on her way out noticed Din across the street leaning on his bike, Pulling out a cigarette, She shook her head knowing exactly why he was there and placed the drinks in front of the couple and letting them know their food would be right out, And again drew her attention to Din, Who’s eyes never left her.

She sat her notepad and pen down, Making her way over to Din. He, in response, threw his cig to the ground and stepped it out, He knew she hated it when he smoked. He just needed to grab her attention. As she walked over Din could see her ochre- brown skin, Glissin in the pale moonlight.

“What are you doing here Din, I'm working.”

She said, Standing in front of him, Hand on her hip.

“Well darling, I'm waiting for you to get off so I can take you on our date.”

Din gave her a cheeky smile.

“Date? Din Since when did I agree to go on a date with you?”

“Since right now.”

Tia let out an annoyed sigh and turned to get back to the diner and finish her shift, Which Din knew needed at 9pm every Friday.

Tia finished her shift and made her way outside after clocking out.

“Cmon Tia, Let me at least give you a ride home.”

Tia rolled her eyes before replying.

“Fine, Where are we going on this lil date.”

“Get on and i'll show you”

He winked getting back on the bike starting the engine.

He handed her his helmet and rode off.

They rode off through the city till they got to Din’s penthouse. He parked his bike in the parking garage and helped Tia off, Taking the helmet off as well.

They took the elevator up and the doors opened to reveal Din’s home. His dad bought him this place as a gift after he graduated high school a couple years before Tia. He told him it was his starter home and he’d be able to afford a bigger one once he took his father’s place as the head boss, which he only agreed to because he didn't want his younger brother getting caught up in the business.

“Go make yourself comfortable, I'll be right there.”

Din took his ringing phone from out of his pocket and went into another room.

Tia knew it was most likely his dad with business so she obeyed and took her shoes off sitting on his couch. She reached for the remote and looked for something to watch as Din walked back into the living room.

“Yeah a large pizza, Pepperoni, thank you.”

Hanging up and making his way over to the couch.

“Pizza will be up in 15, What do you want to watch?”

Tia flipped through the TV before landing on ‘Rear Window’.

“Movie nerd.”

Din mocked as he clapped which made the lights in the room turn off, Tia snuggled into Din as the movie started, Din put his arm around her.

After a few minutes of them snuggling and whispering back and forth barely paying attention to the movie, The buzzer on Din’s door went off, The food was here.

Din buzzed the guy out, Taking his wallet out and pulling out a $100 bill.

Once the elevator door opened he grabbed the pizza box and handed the kid who looked no more than 17 the $100 telling him to keep the change.

Tia sat up from her comfortable spot on the sofa as Din brought the pizza over, before walking towards the fridge to grab them both a beer.

“Beer and pizza, how romantic.”

Tia teased.

Din rolled his eyes, taking a bite into the steaming hot pizza using his hand as a plate to catch the crumbs.

Once they’d both finished Din sat back next to Tia on the sofa locking eyes with her as she whipped the tomato sauce off of her mouth.

“What are you staring at Djarin?”

“Just my beautiful woman, that's all.”

“Oh ‘yours’ really?”

Tia smiled from cheek to cheek, Din loved her smile. It was the only way you could see her dimple located on the left side of her face.

Din closed open space in between them by taking her lips in his.

He took her face into his hands and brought her closer before breaking the kiss to throw his t-shirt from over his head.

Tia quickly grabbed his face again, connecting their lips together, Once again.

Din began to remove Tia’s shorts, But she quickly stopped him.

“Can we maybe take this to the bedroom, I don't think we'll have much room out here.”

Referring to the thin couch that was definitely only made for sitting

Din picked her up, Her arms and legs immediately wrapping around his neck and waist.

Din pushed the door of his room open with his hip, And laid Tia flat out on the bed.

Tia began to unbutton her work shirt as Din finished pulling off her shorts leaving her in only underwear.

She reached down to unzip Dins pants before he grabbed her hand with his hand, Holding it so hard you could see his veins.

“I’ll take care of you first, Okay?”

Tia looked up at him through her lashes, Her almost black doe eyes made her look so innocent.

He slowly got down on his knees at the edge of the bed, Kissing up her thick thighs, finally meeting her inner thigh. Tia threw her head back, he barely touched her and still had this effect on her.

Din kissed all the way up her thighs till he made it to the white fabric that protected what he wanted most. He began to slide them down her thighs, Finally leaving her fully exposed to him. He threw her underwear onto his desk. Din hopped on her way out; she would forget it's there and leave him a souvenir.

Once the water had gotten hot enough, He went back into his room and carried her to the tub slowly putting her in making sure not to wet her still fresh but sweat out hair, he knew she’d be pissed.

“I’ll pay for you to get your hair done again baby already? I'll pay for everything you need just ask.” He said, kissing her neck as she relaxed into him.

Open your eyes

OK OK OK

I watched the movie and listened to the soundtrack for the billionth time (totally not cuz I'm writing a long fanfic and details MATTER TO ME) but anyways

SO I realize that many a people likely realized the eyes phrase meaning. Like yeah cool the movie starts with open your eyes so that Mirabel can see the candle. Considering this is followed by Casita telling them it's time, this means that this was a tradition.

Abuela Alma takes the 5 year old to her room, tells them to look at the candle, and goes on to tell her story.

Quick note here: I love that during her story there's a moment where there's 4 butterflies that fly out from behind her (when she says Casita welcomed them) and the butterflies look like they're in the colours of her, Pepa, Bruno and Julieta but I'm watching the Yo Ho Ho version so HD when I did my best screenshot there's 4 here I promise

She then tells Mirabel that the miracle will give them a gift to strengthen the community and such. So by the time the ceremony got to Mirabel she already developed the notion that they serve the gifts not that the gifts serve them (I can't put exactly what I mean into words this is close enough)

The way she says it too btw is in the vein of "To be a Madrigal, you are required to have a gift."

Her tone doesn't actually change much for the rest of the lit candle portion of the movie. She refers to Pepa's emotions by the weather above her, Luisa is told to lift this move that (she doesn't even celebrate with everyone during the ceremonies she's still given chores and tasks cmon man every rewatch makes Surface Pressure hit harder), doesn't display much enthusiasm for Antonio but more relieved that he got a gift, etc etc etc you know this already

So why did I bring this up?

Because she didn't do it for Antonio.

Alma didn't give Antonio the speech.

Why am I so sure? Because the scene goes from Casita telling Mirabel she has to get Antonio ready, to Mirabel walking Antonio to his 'spotlight' and Dolores being the one to notify everyone that Alma said that it's time.

Also, the movie makes it A Thing to show Alma saying those words. It's her catchphrase essentially. I personally doubt that the movie would omit atleast the implications of this speech happening. 'There's no time!' Correct! And it would have been redundant! Consider this though, the opening implies the ceremony going like this;

1. Guests arrive and the family does their best to a proper host

2. Someone gets the child in question ready (probably parents)

3. Parents return to guests while Alma goes to the nursery and tells the story of the Madrigals and the gifts

4. Alma then walks the child to their spot and continues by herself to the stairs where she addresses the guests with a speech

5. The child is then welcomed/presented and walks up the stairs to their doors and gets their gift.

I wonder if Bruno giving a prediction was part of the ceremony either before or after too because if Isabela and Dolores got one that they remembered and Mirabel got one (granted this was after the whole no gift thing) did Luisa and Camilo? Because Bruno doesn't seem like an unprompted prediction type guy after the villagers did him real dirty

What makes me think that Alma went to the nursery? If she didn't that implies favoritism to Mirabel specifically and that seems weird out of place to me. By all accounts, nothing about Mirabel stood out YET. And no way she didn't tell her story to her own triplets when it was their turn, especially since it involves their father. Why would she skip 4 of her other grandchildren and then only tell the (at the time) youngest one? Doubt.

SO In conclusion, she didn't do the same for Antonio (he was probably told the story by the others at some point anyway) but notably, this meant that no one told him to open his eyes, specifically

Alma didn't tell him to open his eyes because hers were closed

In fact, the entire family appears to have closed their eyes, because much like Alma, their happiness feels like it stems from the fact he got A gift and has thus met the requirements to be a real Madrigal.

Which, as we know, leads to this

(Btw I love that everyone in this scene is lit tf up because they're stars shining brightly and also Agustin Madrigal you absolute unlucky man, he's probably covered in the final pic by Isabela's arm asdfghjk)

The rest is, well, the story.

Mirabel begs her to open her eyes. Alma doesn't. Mirabel begs her to acknowledge the cracks. Alma doesn't. Mirabel begs her to see what is doing to the family. Alma doesn't.

It's only when the candle goes out and Alma is left in the figurative darkness, does she finally open her eyes.

And in All of You, she finally sings it again. Open your eyes. Saw someone comment that they didn't get this line but the way I see it Alma is trying again. Alma knows she wronged Mirabel and she and the others are basically starting over (they literally sing it to her face)

Second note: not sure where to add this but I love that it was Mirabel who brought Antonio to his ceremony because in a way it was foreshadowing that Mirabel took over some of Alma's responsibilities. She already takes care of Casita, wakes people up if they sleep too long (that's what I took from her knocking on doors), fixes breakfast, etc etc so why not also preparing the kids and giving them a speech which is notably more in the vibes of "we will love you, gift or no gift" and not "boy I sure hope you get powers, we have an image to keep!"

Isabela’s colour scheme

Okay okay okay 

I know that like anyone who’s seen Encanto has probably noticed this but like 

I love the fact that Isabela’s colour scheme is closer to that of Abuela than it is to her parents and sisters cuz it really shows that Alma basically molded her to take after her (probably also envisioning that Isabela becomes the next matron)

But after her song obviously she let’s go of this and then in the finale she GIVES HERSELF a blue coloured dress in the colour scheme of her family which also coincidentally is covered is splashes of colour like Mirabel’s doodle stitches which I love so much

Going from being disconnected and dismissive of your sister to being connected and loving I man I love this movie

According to We don’t talk about Bruno, every one of his prophecies/predictions /premonitions came true. Like I am about to state the obvious but this is my blog so fight me.

The first prediction about the rain wasn’t even a premonition, but a self-fulfilling prophecy which speaks for itself, so I’ll skip it. 

Fish lady? Improper pet care Gut man? Bad diet/no exercise Hairless pastor? Genetics 

Now Isabela says: He told me that the life of my dreams Would be promised, and someday be mine

At this point we are under the impression that that life is marriage to Mariano and becoming the defacto head of the family but as we learn after the life of her dreams is letting go of being perfect and being true to herself and her family. 

Naturally if she was told of this after Alma became more strict and ‘demanding’ about Isabela being the perfect golden child, she would have interpreted this as becoming what Alma wants (what she thinks her dream is), not knowing that Bruno meant her own aspirations (what she secretly knows her actual dream is). 

He told me that my power would grow Like the grapes that thrive on the vine This explains itself. 

Dolores then says: He told me that the man of my dreams Would be just out of reach Betrothed to another

This one is fun to me because, well, Bruno never said he’d be MARRIED to another, only betrothed, and betrothals can be broken off the same way engagements do. Plus he’s just out of reach, which also doesn’t mean he’s unreachable, Dolores just had to reach out to him (which she does.)

She also knows more about Mariano than Isabela does so it eliminates the possibility that the man of her dreams is someone else because WHY would you keep checking in with a man you only care about because you’re told you should be (aka what Isabela did) so Mariano is def the man of her dreams (btw love that she doesn’t immediately accept his marriage request because she deserves the courting process too)

This song lives rent free in my head truly and I love that and also none of Bruno’s prophecies are bad, it’s just that everyone takes em at face value/inevitable which is why they Always left Abuela and the family fumbling, Grappling with prophecies they couldn't understand
