Coffee enthusiasts, what whole bean coffee brand would you recommend for at home brewing? I previously used Starbucks Espresso blend since that’s the brand I started drinking coffee from. I got a little cheapo espresso machine this past year to make lattes with, and haven’t ventured out into other brands.

Cafec Deep 27 Coffee Dripper Review
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Day one with the Cafec Deep 27. A very interesting brewer. Different to all the other brewers I own and have tried. It is marketed as an easy to use dripper for single cup brews. The small opening pushes you to mostly do center pours over circular pours. Because of the shape of the Deep 27 you will need to buy specially made papers for it. This will lose some people who like switching up their standard size papers with different brewers.
I also found due to how tall the coffee bed is that you would want to grind coarser compared to other drippers. Grinding coarser also seems to help a lot with clogging and bypass.
The result I’m getting in the cup is very tea-like. Low body but overall great balance with solid sweetness and acidity.
I’m not sure if it beats the Orea V3 or the Origami Air S for me but the results I’m getting taste great and are different enough to keep working with.

Blank Street - Chai Latte 4.4/5
Pros:
✧Milky
✧Flavorful
☆Decently Priced
Cons:
✧ Too much cinnamon on top. When you finish the last few sips have tons of cinnamon in it -- tastes slightly grainy
☆ Sometimes made inconsistently, but mainly satisfactory

Back at Panera
I haven’t posted in a minute but here I am lol
I wasn’t able to register for classes for this semester, which is unfortunate but that’s alright. I’ll be sure to register much earlier when it comes to signing up for classes for the spring semester. In the meantime I am going to focus on finding a job (I just moved) and reading. I haven’t read for leisure in so long, I am very excited to get back into it. If anyone has any book recs, please let me know!
I worked on applying to jobs, organizing my current bills, and reading today. While I worked, I sipped on Panera’s iced caffe latte and it tasted much more like a milkshake than a latte so I’d give it a 5/10 (the cinnamon topping is the way to go, lifting the cup up to take a sip and getting a nice whiff of that cinnamon-y smell was heavenly).
In lieu of not taking any classes right now, the direction of this blog may shift gears to be more of a reading/book blog for a little while. Hope y’all will still stick around!

Got this one at local gourmet grocery. It was a featured special. It is the first coffee by Rosso I have tried. The package describes chocolate and mixed nuts. I do get the nutty flavour. It is one of those strange coffees that feels like it is going to be sour but then mellows into something else. Comfort coffee seems an apt description as it's got a very satisfying after taste. A coffee you want to linger on.

Brand: PeoPo Coffee Product: Original Caffeine Content: not listed Armoa(s): caramel Taste(s): nutty Sweetened?: Yes How Sweet?: 5/10 Milked?: Yes How Milky?: 5/10 Flavored?: No
My Score: 7/10
Super well balanced iced latte flavor. Not super sweet but not in the "low sugar" zone either. The can shape is unique (as my partner called it, "curvy" :P) and the design on the can is simple and attractive.

Last week, I haven't been feeling the best; I have been feeling drained all the time. One thing that definitely helped was coffee. As a huge coffee lover, I recently tried Nescafe's salted caramel iced latte.
For the most part, I really enjoyed this drink because it was quick and easy to make, and it was not too sweet.
I highly recommend it this coffee if you are a coffee lover like me!

We got these beans from a roaster in Cambridge and we've tried a couple of their beans. These describe themselves as strawberry, blueberry and chocolate.
I definitely get the blueberry particularly in the smell. It is definitely a fruity coffee with a mix of tart and sweet that blends nicely with the bitter chocolate tones so none of the individual flavors are over powering. It never tastes sour or burnt, but keeps a very nice balance.

The feeling of what a second cup of coffee gives.... Fvck. I'm even more sleepy with a brain jumping in circles. Made me angry and HA-HA at the same time. 🤌🏻
I'll rate this 10/10, would do it again. 🥱

04/19/24: Highlands Coffee Cà Phê Đen

I read that a lot of Vietnamese coffees use robusta beans (while most coffees here in the U.S. are made from arabica), and I wonder if this is true for this one, and how much of the flavor is due to that.
