Something I've noticed about Derek and Spencer

In Criminal Minds episode 4x01, Hotch tells Derek he didn't give his recommendation to Derek because he thinks Derek doesn't quite trust anybody yet. Specifically, he also asks Derek if he should drive, which symbolically would mean that Derek has to put his life in Hotch's hands, therefore trusting him. Hotch offers to drive to give Derek the opportunity to prove he trusts someone else with his life, but Derek refuses and ends up driving.

An episode later, 4x02, at the end after they've solved the case, again they have to drive to the airport, and the team (JJ, Emily and Spencer) are making fun of Derek for not liking to ask for directions.

Right after, Derek throws the keys to Spencer, telling him to drive.

I feel like this is a very obvious parallel and quite clear in demonstrating that Derek trusts Spencer with his life, therefore identifying him as one of the few people Derek trusts at all. It speaks of a very deep connection and love for each other, and i think it's a really cute way of showing it to the audience

Aaron Hotchner X Daughter reader

Just watched Mayhem and couldn't get this idea out of my head.

Summary: Aaron still suffers from acute sensitivity to sound, his 10 year old daughter finds him in the kitchen curled up while the fire alarm rings.

Set during season 4 after Mayhem

Third person pov...

Aaron Hotchner had a day off work as the Man was still recovering from the explosion in New York from their last case, he had planned to spend the day with his daughter.

When Haley decided to divorced him she got full custody of Jack and Hotch got full custody of their Daughter Y/N, of course the girl gets to see her mum and brother most of thr week when her Dad is working.

As the Man wonders downstairs he starts to make pancakes usually pancakes are for special occasions, but he guesses that this day calls for pancakes.

As he makes the batter and grabs a pan he turns the stove on and pours the pancake batter in, then he waits for it to cook.

As he waits his mind wonders back to the explosion and how it also costed him his hearing, suddenly the fire alarm is going off and he could smell something burning.

The man cries out and grabs hisbear, he could hear a high pitched squeal, he can only sit on the floor wishing for the pain to go away he can't even move to turn the stove off.

"Daddy!" Yell his daughter as she comes sprinting down the stairs hearing the fire alarm going off, for the man everything is muffled apart from the ringing in his ears.

The 10 year old eyes widening as she sees her Dad curled up on the floor the usual calm and strong man who let nothing get him down reduced to the man on the floor covering his head in pain almost crying.

"Daddy! Are you okay?" She exclaims yelling over the fire alarm that was still going off, she runs to the stove ans turns off the gas, she then takes the pan off ans putting it on the counter.

Then runs to open a window to let the smoke out and hoping the alarm will turn off soon.

After she does that she runs over and crouches infront of her Dad the man's hands hadn't moved from his head, the girl tries to get his attention but its like he couldn't hear her.

His face was screwed up in pain, the girl didn't know what to do shebhad never seen her Daddy like this before, then she sees his phone on the table and grabs it, she whipes her tears and stands up.

She then dials her Uncle Dave the rest of the team would be at the BAU hopefully not on a case. When the call finally connects she almost sobs in relief at her Uncle's voice.

She eyes her Dad in the corner of her vision. "Hey Hotch, wha- Uncle Dave! It's Daddy!" Yells the H/C girl interrupting thr man. "Y/N? What's happend?" Asks the worried Uncle.

"It's Daddy, he's on the floor covering his head, the fire alarm is going off Uncle Dave please hurry" she cries to the man tears now falling from her E/C eyes.

She tries to steady her breathing as she waits for his answer. "Of course Sweetie, I will be there soon" Y/N ends the call and holds the phone in her hand.

She then walks back over to her Dad,he hadn't moved from his position, she kneels on the tiled floor and looks at him, the man looks tired and had bags under his eyes.

She cries more "Oh daddy" she whispers, she then runs to the living room and grabs a soft pillow and blanket, she then runs back to the kitchen almost falling over she kneels again infront of her Dad.

The 10 year old then tries to wrap the blanket around her Dad so he wouldn't be cold and leans his body so he was laying on the pillow, Y/N then kisses his cheek. "It's okay Daddy I'm here" she whispers hoping to comfort him.

10 minutes later the door opens Y/N looks up and runs to the hall she tries to smile when she sees the team standing there.

She runs over to her Uncle ans hugs him tight. "Uncle Dave your here, Daddy is in the kitchen, I couldn't move him Uncle" she cries as the Man picks her up and hugs her tightly.

"Hey guys over here" Calls Morgan from the kitchen, the team wonders in and sees their fearless leader on the floor covered in a blanket and pillow on the floor.

Rossi looks at the child in his arms. "Was that your doing N/N" he asks making the girl nod and sniffle. " 'Was trying to help him" she mumbles watching as Morgan and Emily help her Dad stand up.

JJ then wonders over to Y/N, she smiles kindly at the girl. "Hey sweetie can you tell us what happened?" She asks, Y/N nods her head.

Her Daddy is taken into the living room Reid picks up the pillow and blanket and follows them in. The 10 year old hugs her uncle's neck as she answers JJ.

"I was sleeping when I heard the fire alarm going off, but Daddy didn't do anything to stop it so I came down and saw him curled up on the floor" she mumbles fresh tears coating her vision.

JJ smiles and thanks her before walking off to tell the others, Rossi rubs a hand up and down her back Comforting the child. "Heys it's okay, you did a great job looking after your dad" he says.

The man looks around the kitchen and saw the pancake batter and the pan with burnt pancake in. He then sits Y/N down on a chair and walks to the stove the fire alarm had long turned off.

The man then begins making Y/N the breakfast she was susposed to have, once the girl had eaten Hotch had woken up.

As Y/N finishes of her pancake JJ walks in a smiles at Y/N, the girl finishes of the pancake in the her mouth before asking about her Dad. "Is Daddy okay?" She asks them woman.

JJ smiles. "Yes he's awake now want to go see him?" Asks JJ already knowing the answer, the girl jumps from her chair and runs to the living room.

"Daddy!" She cries running and jumping onto thr sofa where he was laying on, Hotch then wraps his arms around his daughter. "I'm sorry I worried you so much sweetie" he whispers into her hair as she cried.

The man comforts his daughter as his team surrounds them. "Thank you" he tells them making them smile at the Dad and Daughter.

The end!

In 4x02, the angel maker we see the consequences of hotch’s injured ear . 

And OH MY GOD, as much as I love this sort of character development, and I think this profoundly adds to his character I just want to hug him. As someone who is also sensitive to loud noises, his experience is nothing but relatable, and it pains me to see him like this. LET THIS MAN REST, first a divorce and now this??  he has shrapnel in his leg. He can probably barely walk.?!! And theyre doing this to him??

when it comes to criminal minds i'm usually like "oh jemily" and "damn how i love spencer reid, love of my life, the only man that is worth it" but goddammit how sad and distressing the end of season 4 is, and i'm not even talking about the pigs but the whole thing it's just so damn sad. kelly asking lucas to be calm and to put his hands up so they won't hurt him despite how much he hurt her, morgan's muted screams asking to stop shooting at him. knowing that lucas killed over 80 people but knowing so deeply that he truly deserved another chance, that he wasn't a monster. i bawl every time, like god i was just watching a show what the hell

Watching criminal minds for the first time and got to the end of season four with the pig farm brothers, and what upset me most about that episode is Sarnia being referred to as a "small city". It's the largest city on Lake Huron, sure it's not a large urban center, sprawling and densely populated, but it ain't *small*

Rossi always brags about his Son to the team, they know how proud the old man is off his son, the 23 year old had joined the army as soon as he left highschool.

As Agent David Rossi walked into the BAU headquarters, he was met with the usual busy atmosphere. His team members were scattered around the room, each engrossed in their own tasks. Rossi took a moment to take in the familiar surroundings before making his way to his office.

As he settled in his chair, his phone buzzed with a text from his son, Damien. Rossi’s face lit up with a smile as he read the message. Y/N was coming home on leave from the army and wanted to surprise his dad. Rossi couldn’t wait to see his son, who was now 23 years old and serving his country proudly.

Rossi had always been proud of Y/N who had joined the army straight out of high school. He had inherited his father's bravery and dedication to serving the greater good. Rossi made sure to brag about his son to the team whenever he came into town from college.

As the day went on, Rossi found it hard to focus on work as his mind was filled with excitement about seeing Y/N When it was finally time for him to leave for the day, he couldn’t contain his excitement any longer and announced to the team that his son was coming home.

The team was overjoyed, and they all gathered in the conference room to meet Y/N Rossi couldn’t help but smile as he watched his team interact with his son. Aaron Hotchner, who was Y/Ns uncle, gave him a tight hug while the others shook his hand or gave him a pat on the back.

After many hugs and handshakes Y/N finally got to hug his dad again. "Hi Papà, Sono a casa(1)"He whispers in Italian, his Dad smiles and hugs the young man back tightly.

The H/C adult was not only in the army, but he was also studying at a prestigious university. He had inherited his father's intelligence and was excelling in his studies. As he talked about his experiences in the army and shared stories of his college life, everyone in the room couldn’t help but be captivated by him.

The team couldn’t deny that the man was indeed smoking hot. His H/C hair and piercing E/C eyes reminded them all of a younger version of Rossi. But it was his charm and easygoing personality that had everyone falling for him. Even Penelope Garcia, who had a soft spot for Rossi, couldn’t resist the young man's charm.

As the evening went on, Rossi and his son caught up on lost time. They shared stories and laughter, and Rossi couldn’t be prouder of his son. The team gathered around them, enjoying the father-son bond and feeling grateful to have Y/n as a part of the BAU family.

As they finished their shifts they took the homecoming to Rossis house, As the night went on, the house was filled with laughter and chatter.

Throughout the evening, everyone took turns talking to Y/N and learning more about the young man, with the team and his son bonding Rossi left to the kitchen.

He grabbed himself a drink and lent against the counter, a happy smile on his face. Hearing the laughter ans chatter from the living room brought love to his heart, it had been too long since his son was home.

As he stood he pulled out an old picture from his pocket, he smiles a sad smile at the picture, it was an old baby picture. Y/N 5 years old hugging his dad tightly.

Both had identical happy smiles on their faces, Rossi let's a few tears slip before he whipes then away, soon Hotch comes to find him.

"Y/n is a spitting image of you Dave" Rossi's best friend and coworker, Aaron Hotchner, said with a smile. From the living room they hear Penelope compliment the young man.

Rossi could see the blush on his sons face.blushed at the compliment, They continuted to bombarded him with questions about his life in the army and his plans for the future.

Dave smiles at the picture then looks at the man next to him. "That he has Hotch" smiles the older man.

Y/N quickly became popular amongst the team, and it was easy to see why. He was charismatic, charming, and had a great sense of humor.

Soon enough, it was time for Y/N  to leave, he had to get back to his head quarters, he had just come to see his Dad for a day. the team was sad to see him go. They had all become fond of him in just a few hours.

As the young man said goodbye to everyone and made his way to the door, Penelope Garcia gave him her signature big hug and whispered in his ear, 'Come back and visit us soon. You are one smoking hot soldier.'

Y/N couldn't help but laugh and promised to come back as soon as possible. The team said their goodbyes, promising to keep in touch with the H/C young man.

As he left, the team couldn't stop talking about him and how much they all liked him. David Rossi was beaming with pride as he watched his son walk out of his home It was a pleasant surprise, indeed.
