Logan represents **seeing** the truth. Right from his descriptions it is said that "beneath his exterior you can find out that he is easily the most scared" ; you have to see his truth in the show.
In the second episode when he sees the Night terror he sees the truth of why Cooper was 'sick' in bed and why the others where acting odd.
In episode 8, altough he did see that Lance tricked him, he doesn't see who he really was until it was too late.
And then he is used by the Nightmare King for him to see the truth about what the dream chasers are up to *through him* , making him a tool. An easy to manipulate tool once you find out the truth about him.

I forgot NaNoWriMo was a thing,,, do I dare to challenge myself? I mean I wrote 111k in 6 months by just writing 3k a week plus some when I got in the mood. I could at the very least try to challenge myself to get this 10-20k short story out of the way… it’s 1k a day or 2k or smth like that right? I could probably do that unless harvest moon distracts me again… decisions decisions

Don't you hate it when:
you're doing work/assignments, whatever tickles your pickle, and you get really sleepy.
So so sooo sleepy you can't focus or keep your eyes open anymore and decide it's time to go to bed.
So you go, make yourself comfortable, and finally close your eyes,
ONLY TO HAVE THE SLEEPINESS VANISH, NOT EVEN TWO MINUTES AFTER !

Flash, on Tik Tok: put a finger down hero edition!
Flash: *points at Superman and Conner*
Flash: put a finger down if you've ever been cloned without your consent by a billionaire who wanted to use said clone to kill and replace you! And now you're coworkers!
Danny, sitting in his car, face completely blank, in a Tik Tok duet: *puts a finger down*
Dani: *pops her head over the seat and makes eye contact with the camera at the exact same moment*

Danyal Al Ghul: Incorrect Quotes and Miscellaneous Thoughts
Incorrect quotes-style snippets specifically for my danyal al ghul au here (which i really need to come up with a unique au name for atp). Because I thought it'd be funny. And also some miscellaneous headcanons thrown into the mix. Some context for the au: - Danyal is 5 years older than Damian (so 10 and 15) - Danny faked his death when he was 10. Talia knows and helped him with it. - Jazz, Sam, and Tucker do not know he's an ex-assassin.
-------- Snippet 1
Danny, dryly tapping his temple: I have, as the Americans say, irreparable psychological damage, right here.
Jazz, an older sibling first and foremost: well, it's good that you're self-aware.
-------- Snippet 2
Danny, aged 10, in the American foster planning to just age out of the system: *emanating Bad Vibes. Pure, Little Orphan Tom Riddle Energy*
Jazz, aged 12, coming in to adopt a new sibling with her parents: Him. This is my brother now :)
Danny: ...what
--------
Lilo and Stitch is Danny's favorite Disney movie. He watched it when he was 11 with Jazz when she was attempting to connect with him, and by this point Danny was becoming receptive to her efforts. They had a movie marathon in the living room one night.
Safe to say? It resonated with his little 11 year old heart strongly, and he related very strongly with both Nani and Stitch. He got unexpectedly emotional and hid in his room for the rest of the night. Jazz felt really bad, but it had the intended (but kinda unexpected) effect of him trying to be nicer to her afterwards.
-------- Snippet 3
Dash, aged 12, causing trouble again and getting intercepted by Danny: *scaling up a desk* AHHHHH! GET YOUR LITTLE FREAK, FOLEY!
Tucker: Hey! Danny is not a freak!
Dash: GET HIM TO BACK OFF
Tucker, was the kid Dash was messing with: ....whats in it for me
-------- Snippet 4
Danny, saying some questionably immoral shit: What. Why are you looking at me like that.
Tucker: Bro. I mean this as kindly as possible; what the fuck?
Sam: yeah, I'm with Tuck on this one.
-------- Snippet 5
Danny, ranting about Vlad: if it weren't for the laws of this land, I would have slaughtered him
Sam, painting his nails black: I'm pretty sure you'd slaughter him regardless of the laws of the land -- and quit moving, you're gonna mess me up.
Tucker: we've literally seen you debate yourself about this, Dan
Danny: ...you are correct, but it is the principle of things.
-------- Snippet 6
Vlad: I have experience my child, and the money and power attained through using those powers for personal gain, you say. I could train you, teach you everything I know! And all you have to do is renounce that idiot adoptive father of yours.
Danny, was already contemplating committing a Violence: ....
Danny, internally: I'm going to stab him *turns into Phantom*
--------
Funny contrast I realized between Danyal and Vlad that iirc I haven't pointed out yet is that imo, Danyal doesn't rely on his powers nearly half as much as canon Danny does. He falls back instinctually on his League training, and thus sometimes forgets to use his powers in battle. This was prevalent especially early on when he was still getting used to the whole 'halfa' thing.
He incorporates them more often after a year, but still for the most part relies on his own physical hand-to-hand combat. He trusts those skills much more than he does his powers. I'm not sure where he is on a technical level compared to canon, but just to stay safe I'll say he's similar in power skill as canon Danny. Perhaps a little more finessed than him because his League training would probably have him trying to figure out his powers as soon as possible.
But in summary? Danny is strong in hand-to-hand combat, weak in powerset.
Meanwhile Vlad is the opposite. I can't recall if he even knows hand-to-hand in canon, but it makes total sense to me that Vlad Masters wouldn't because he's so confident in his monetary influence and ghost abilities that he sees no need for it.
And he's kinda got some merit behind it. He's very powerful and has 20 years of experience to experiment and fine tune his powers. He's got bite to follow up his bark. He's perfected long-range combat and his ability to phase through walls makes it impossible to corner him, but if you can manage it, then one good hit could probably knock him on his ass.
So in summary, Vlad is strong in powerset, weak in hand-to-hand combat.
And it casts a good contrast between the two of them in that regard. Danny, as a fellow halfa, can follow Vlad when he phases through walls and is fast enough to land a hit on him. His league training as an assassin, albeit rusty, is still deep ingrained enough in him that he can hold up as a rather veritable threat against Vlad without needing his powers.
But Vlad can force Danny to use his powers more often through use of his own. The duplication is the first thing to come to mind: Danny's fast enough to dispel them on his own without powers, and smart enough that he could figure out who the real one is if given a few minute. But that's not always efficient enough.
Good foils for each other that way. Also Vlad's Plasmius design mimics Ra's juuust enough that he looks like Ra's knockoff loser second cousin no one talks about, which only fuels Danny's hatred.
-------- Snippet 7
Danny, ranting about Vlad for the first time: --and it's only made worse by the fact that the little ingrate resembles a cheap knock-off of my grandfather!--
Sam, choking on her water: he what--
Tucker, doing a spittake: HE DOES?

During my rewatch, I've noticed that Danny hears everything Scott and Stiles say at school. No wonder he knows about werewolves, he literally gets a front row seat to all the weird shit that happens in Beacon Hills.

DPXDC Prompt #94
Danny falls through a portal to the DC world from a natural portal that opened up while he was in mid fight with Skulker a fight that began at Vlads where the creep put a collar on Danny that kept him in ghost form, Vlad thought he’d force Danny to reveal his secret to his parents by taking away his human form. Looking around he’s in a dark city with dark smog colored skies. Unfortunately he’s stuck here as the portal closed leaving him trapped. He tried to find help but no one can see him in his ghost form. He starts tailing the vigilantes of this world and eventually follows one onto this space station through this tube (possessing inanimate objects sure comes in handy). He wasn’t expecting for the random British guy in a trench coat to see him.

I LOVE me some characters who lie. Little lying liars, fibbers, untruthers. The biggest liars on the planet. It's in their blood, in their soul, they'll lie about anything from what they had for breakfast to what they feel about the death of a loved one. They'll lie to anyone and everyone. They'll lie the most to themselves. They'll lie because it's all they know how to do, all they've ever done. And when they tell the truth it's only to ever further the reach of the untruths they've already sown. And they lie the worst when they want to be believed. When they want someone to figure out the truth. Because they can't tell it to you themselves. Riddle-makers; you'll have to find the answer yourself. You've got to be crafty enough to find it.

Okay. This is probably not that controversial of an opinion, but the Danny Phantom Christmas episode sucks. And not because I have a thing against Christmas. (I do, but that's not my point here.)
It's because everyone basically bullies Danny because no one has ever made the holiday enjoyable for him and continues that trend until he basically gives up. Like, the point is "Push this distressed and stressed person to the breaking point to get them to enjoy this thing they don't enjoy."
Like the entire episode is tone deaf. Like, 10 Points for being religiously inclusive and not assholes about other winter holidays, but -1000 points for having everyone basically say "I don't know why you're so upset about this holiday that you have trauma over. Get over it."
It is just a very upsetting episode that ends with Danny burying his trauma and going "Yay! Christmas is such a fun time."

I know it’s kind of a dumb thing to want but I do wish there was like a non-insulting list of “Things fanfic writers might forget when moving to non fanfiction creations.” And I don’t just mean “Oh tell what your characters look like.”
Cuz like I saw a post that just slammed my eyes open the other day about books reading like fanfic because they forget the *narration* and instead use the setting to play with the characters like dolls. (Not a bad thing, and it wasn’t insulting it was just pointing out a flaw). And it seriously kicked me out of my rut of what I’m writing right now.
Because I had fully forgotten about the narrative pushing things forward in my focus to get the characters right and figure out what sort of arcs I’m planning for them. But I had become stuck in a rut realizing that unintentionally I had set it up as a one shot for a fanfic. Which meant I had forgotten that for plot to move forward there needs to be pressure and a reason for it to move forward rather then a single scene captured that needs no active outside force. There needs to be a reason my characters can’t just take their time to figure their shit out. And it totally flew over my head because my brain was writing individual scenes as one shots rather than a cohesive story.
I read that post, got confused for an hour and then it struck me what the hell it meant and suddenly got passed the last three weeks of writers block because I couldn’t figure out a reason to get from point A to B.

Ok, you know what, let me rant about something real quick
And just in case this gets to a bigger audience rather than staying in my little circle of mutuals, I've got nothing against furries. Keep doing you, boo 😙💗 Your fursona's so beautiful and cool!
I don't understand how my friend had the guts to call me a "furry" just because I said I liked Beastars... like?? It's a good fucking show?? Maybe if you sat down and watched it, you'd understand??
Also, I mentioned liking Zootopia, Sing 2 (I like 2 more than the 1st, but anyways), and Bad Guys. And he proceeded to say, "That further proves you're a furry."
Tumblr media
It's just the fact that he immediately jumped to placing a label on me, one I don't and have never used, only because of my likes in a couple of movies and shows. Like, I bet there's a couple of movies with anthropomorphic animals in them that he likes, and yet I don't go around calling him a furry 🙄
And it's so weird how we went into this shop that sells manga, where I ended up finding the 12th volume (I believe) of Beastars, and wanted to ask the guy at the register if they had the 1st volume somewhere in the back, when he stops me and tells me that if anyone were to hear me, they'd want to jump me. JUMP ME?!? That put me in such a bad mood, I literally rolled my eyes, placed the manga back, and walked out, telling him I'd wait outside instead.
I'm still mad and hurt about that even though it happened 2 years ago. I just wanted to share my interest with him and talk about how lovable Legoshi is. Anyways, we haven't talked in about two months because we've both been busy with our own lives, but I feel bad for saying I don't really mind...
If you got to the bottom, thank you for taking the time to read 😅 It's 1am for me, so I needed to get this off my mind before I lose any more sleep. I hope you have a good day/evening/night 💗💗

I think it’s silly how in fics Danny’s like “oh thank the ancients” or otherwise using them as a stand in for “oh my god”. He beat half their asses bi weekly and they only made him stronger. He spits on their names like a Canadian who just got attacked by geese
He is cocky and full of rage. He can and has fist fought several gods, no way is he respecting them.
Maybe clockwork and pandora, but no one else (nope, nvm on clockwork).
Anyway I think he should curse them out or use them in derogatory ways rather than use them as a curse
Examples:
Oh fuck the Observants!
You’re dumber than the Observants
I’m gonna beat you so hard Nocturn would be impressed
I hope Vortex goes up ur ass hole
Overgrowth wants to know what ur smoking
I hope overgrowth eats ur mom
I’m not that creative but you get the point.
(This is no way a dis on the ancient trope, I like it fine enough)

More clone^2 snippets
Snippet 12: hands
Lancer: dear god, Mr. Fenton, what happened to your hands!?
Danny, had a run in with Damian’s katana and both of his hands have stitches: um… cooking… accident. I can’t use them that much currently
Lancer, pale: right, yes, of course. You may have one of your friends right you notes until they are properly healed
————
Snippet 13: more hands (and dash is a dick)
Dash: I bet Fenturd’s just faking his hand injury to get out of doing class work. Getting out of classwork is my thing! I’ll show him.
Danny, minding his own business:
Dash, yanks on his fingers harshly: Freak! Did you think you could copy me and het away with it?
Danny, his stitches torn from the way Dash grabbed him: you’re the last person I’d want to copy Dash, let go.
Dash: we all know you’re faking the hand injury, there’s no way you’d— you’d—
(Danny’s hands are bleeding, and starting to smear on Dash’s hands.)
Danny, (fake) calmly: you were saying, Dash?
Dash: I - uh—
Danny: thanks for opening them up, jerk.
—————
Snippet 14: Danny is Bruce’s Clone and Bruce Wayne has been hottest man alive for many consecutive years
The A-Lister Girls are at a sleepover
Star: Never have I ever had a crush on Danny Fenton
All girls (including Star): puts a finger down
A-List Girl: Paulina put your finger down
Paulina, begrudgingly putting a finger down: he shouldn’t count - he’s a loser!
A-List Girl: he’s still the cutest boy in our grade. Put your damn finger down.
—————
Snippet 15: unstoppable force vs immovable object
(In the Clone Danny Au, since Danny is not a ghost Valerie doesn’t see Phantom as the guy who ruined her life, but a very exhausted vigilante trying his best. They’re allies with conflicting ideologies on how to handle ghosts.)
Red Huntress: are you kidding me, Phantom? You dragged a kid in with you to fight ghosts? I thought you were better than that
Wraith, offended: *opening his mouth*
Phantom, tiredly putting a hand over Damian’s mouth: *in ASL + one hand* you don’t think I tried to stop him?
Red Huntress: he’s a child, Phantom, how hard could it be?
Phantom: looks down at Wraith
Wraith: looks up at Phantom with the eyes of a hundred enraged bulls
Phantom, kneeling down to Wraith and pulling his mask up to show his mouth: *whispering inaudibly*
Wraith: *takes off in the opposite direction*
Phantom, standing up to Red: *ASL* well? go get him
————
Snippet 16: identity
(Danny and Damian are sitting on a rooftop, in the middle of a break from patrol. Damian sits between Danny’s legs and Danny is slumped over Damian’s back.)
Damian, playing with Danny’s fingers:
Danny: who are you?
Damian: Damian.
Danny: who are you not?
Damian: Damian Wayne.
Danny: do you have to be?
Damian: no.
Danny: who do you have to be?
Damian: I just have to be me.
Danny: who are you?
Damian: I’m Damian.
Danny: good.
Damian:
Danny:
Damian: who are you?
Danny, smiling: Danny
—————
Snippet 17: long hair
(In the Clone Danny Au, Danny’s hair goes to his shoulders. I was in a GNC mood at the time the au was made and it passed on to Danny.)
Tucker: are you going to cut your hair, Danny? It’s getting long.
Danny, laying against the bed frame with Sam doing his hair: probably to get the dead ends cut off. I like it long.
Sam: I like it long too.
Tucker: you like it long because he lets you do whatever you want to it
Sam: it’s also a stand against the oppressive stereotype that men can’t have long hair and must always have it short in order to appear masculine! Danny’s showing individuality and sticking it to the patriarchy at the same time!
Danny: and because I let you do whatever you want to it.
Sam, making a punk hairdo for danny: yea that too
——————
Snippet 18: Danny is Bruce Wayne’s clone and Bruce——
Danny, getting stuff from his locker: my parents have a new ‘Fenton anti-ghost sticky bomb’ they’re working on and—
Student with a photography camera: Hey, Fenton!
Danny, looking over: what?
Student: *snaps a photo* thanks!
Student walks away
Danny:
Tucker:
Sam:
Danny: so… um…. Is that- is that another Wes? Should I be worried?
Sam: you should be angry! He just took your picture without your consent! That’s a violation of your bodily autonomy.
Danny: we can keep an eye on it, Sam, and if it becomes an issue then I’ll report it to a teacher.
Danny: and as I was saying, I can’t wait to have to make sure that that doesn’t hurt anyone.
Danny: i love having to stay up late sabotaging my parents’ inventions. Yay…
—————
Snippet 19: Danny is Bruce’s clone and—
Wes: ranting about how Phantom = Danny and how there’s proof and he has it and—
Random Student from his photography club: you wanna kiss him so bad it makes you look stupid.
Wes: I do nOT
Student: Its okay Wes, so does literally everyone else.
—————
Snippet 20: Lookalike
Danny: the only good thing about being Bruce Wayne’s clone is that my Brucie Wayne Impression is spot on
Damian: what??
Danny: my Brucie Wayne impression. It shouldn’t be as fun as it is doing it

Danny’s in Gotham living as a regular civilian or even just a literal tourist.
He’s out late after getting a burger from Batburger and in an attempt to get back to where he’s staying faster he cuts through a few alley ways with some help from his powers to stay safe.
One of the bat fam hears something from an empty looking alley and shines a flashlight in it, directly into the face of a exhausted looking teenager.
Danny, because high powered light in the eyes hurt, hisses in pain, and then runs away after seeing who just attempted to blind him. Because they’re a Bat and Danny really doesn’t want to deal with Batman.
The next morning the GPD issues a warning about a suspected vampire with a described appearance that matches Danny’s a bit too much.
Danny may have forgotten his eyes shine like a cats and that the red Batburger sauce ended up on his shirt… and that he has fangs.

the main mistake that people who dislike s8 and put it low in their series rankings make is the belief that, like any other series (apart from s9), it’s a collection of standalone stories tied together by some vague throughline i.e. missy’s ‘heaven’. “oh, this episode’s mid, that episode’s bad” meanwhile it’s not about individual episodes at all. i firmly believe that it should be viewed as a singular long serial.
so grateful that i was extremely late to the party and binged it all in a week instead of watching every episode as they were airing, because sometimes the plots barely matter at all. do you remember what the skovox blitzer actually looks like or what it wanted with coal hill in the first place? hardly. i had to google its name. but what you do remember from the caretaker is twelve acting like an antagonistic prick towards danny, and that’s what matters. almost every villainous entity is some kind of soldier, the contempt twelve shows to everybody but clara becomes the source of their toxicity… in the forest of the night is pretty obviously rubbish scifi, but it demonstrates danny’s fundamental incompatibility with clara, as well as the scene in which clara is ready to sacrifice herself and her students for the doctor’s sake, foreshadowing their reckless, almost suicidal codependency.
point is, but it really does work best as a tightly woven tapestry. sure, some episodes succeed individually, but most of the individual plots are mildly exciting only in a ‘this is fun to watch for kids’ way… UNLESS you approach them from the overarching perspective. i.e. mummy on the orient express has wonderful style, a thrilling mystery, creative concepts and interesting side characters, but its story appeal hinges on the twelveclara failed breakup. listen is frightening enough, but its entire story appeal hinges on just how much clara affects the doctor’s values past and present, and whether or not she has a future with danny (she doesn’t).
what i’m saying is, the narrative in s8 is a non-negotiable package deal. buy one, get them all. and it has no skips. i hate the idiotic pro-life message in kill the moon as much as the next sensible person, but what the episode does well is really hammer home how much of a sanctimonious asshole twelve initially is, which is crucial to his future character evolution.
tldr; the correct way to watch series 8 is all in one go. series 8 is great. more love for series 8

Dc x Dp idea 22
John summons the new ghost king with the justice league to determine the threat. Hoping it’s not a pariah who could target their dimension. After all whoever took pariah down had to have done it for the power. He was unsealed and replaced in the span of 2/3? days. That’s just how the infinite realm works
Meanwhile Danny is stressed. His parents and Valerie are more laser happy since they were sucked into the ghost zone. Clockwork, Frostbite and Pandora have all taken to teaching him more about the infinite realms and future responsibilities. Sam is on his case about him wanted to relax more and Tucker is acting jealous again. It’s like the whole Desiree thing didn’t happen. He has a test in the morning he actually studied for and no rouges out for the night.
Getting summoned at 3 am was not his plan for a good night’s sleep.
Danny is just trying to get this questioning over with. The summon circle was not one he could reverse on his own (clockwork had been teaching him how to ignore and deal with them).  He just asks then if they could hurry this up, he has things to do.
It’s only johns’ comment that sets him off. That if he didn’t want to deal with summons, he shouldn’t have fought pariah for the power.
Danny doesn’t take that well. He can’t leave the circle as phantom. Can’t stop Danny from jumping out to scream at his face.
Danny: you think I wanted this. That I wanted these powers. That I walked into my parent’s lab into their broken portal just to have it turn on with me in it. To kill me and bring me back. That I wanted to fight, the ghost that kept coming through the portal. I didn’t have a choice. If I hadn’t spectra could have harvested all my classmates after giving them the ghost flu. If I hadn’t nocturne would of kept everyone in amity asleep to gain power, undergrowth would have fed them to his plants keep Sam as his forced daughter, Technus would of invaded the World Wide Web, who knows who skulker would be hunting and Pariah would still be free.
Danny:  I never wanted any of it. If I hadn’t stopped pariah amity would have stayed in the infinite realm. I had no choice. All I wanted was to have a normal life. I went from being a straight A student to barely passing. I have a test in the morning. Check your facts next time. Lose my summons clearly you made a mistake and wasted my valuable time. I had no intention of harming any dimension.
Ending his rant, he transformed and got to school right before the test.
