I know Im kinda 8 years too late but it was such a missed opportunity to not have Taken enemies of species we've never seen before that the Hive have encountered. Not only would it be something more unique to fight from the Taken, it would of added to making Destiny's world feel much more bigger. It would've shown how evil and dangerous the Hive and Oryx are through their countless extinctions of countless worlds.

Like imagine getting to see Taken Taishibethi or Dakaua or even some random species we've never even heard of before, that would of been great. Or even get to see some Taken not from our system, my mind wanders to Chelchis or A'arn as examples, like we had with Quria. We could of kinda known how Eliksni during their golden age would of looked like in game, and well the Cabal would of still looked the same back then.

All I'm saying is that the Taken were a perfect opportunity for environmental storytelling which we sadly didn't get. I get that Taken King was years ago and they likely didn't have the resources for it but it just would of been much more cooler if they could of implemented something like this, thats all.

Liked more without color. Was hard to find good refs and understand his every detail.
