Chapter 25
[Prev] [Next]
The shock did not go away.  If anything, it packed its bags and moved into your home.
You stood in front of the mirror in your bathroom dressed in only your bra and underwear.  Law stood behind you, leaning against the door frame with his arms crossed over his chest.  The air in the room was stifling as you gazed at the bump that had already started showing in your belly.
You had an approximate due date.  May 22nd.
You were officially, according to your implantation date and calculations done by Robin, on your ninth week of pregnancy.  Your hCG levels in each blood test had increased as expected, and your babies had heartbeats.
Your babies.  Plural.
Your symptoms were exacerbated by the fact that you had not one, but two embryos inside you.  Breast tenderness, backaches, nausea, dizziness, the whole nine yards.
Though, if you were being fair to yourself, your dizziness could easily have been a side effect of being labeled as ‘extremely high risk.’  Due to your history, and now due to being pregnant with multiples, you were given strict instructions to be much more present at your doctor’s office.  You were given prenatal vitamins to begin taking daily every single morning.  You were given foods to avoid in order to lower your risk of developing gestational diabetes.  You were also given foods more encouraged to eat.  Raise your blood iron.  Raise your sodium, but not too much.  Eat an increase of around 1000 calories a day to support the growth of two placentas and two babies.  Watch out for spotting, bleeding, pelvic pain, irregular bowel movements.  Watch out for headaches and weight gain or discolored urine, you might die.  Keep an eye on your mental health, what stresses you, stresses the babies.  But mostly, be excited!
Yeah, right.
Your hand traced the small bump in your belly.
“You know…” you began, making Law perk his head up to listen to you.  “I always thought that seeing a baby bump would be the most exciting moment of my life… but I’ve never been more scared.  Ever.”
Law approached you from behind, wrapping his hands around your bare waist and resting his chin on the crown of your head.  His scent enveloped you like a blanket, instantly warming your skin and calming your heightened nerves.  One of his hands traveled down the skin of your abdomen, resting on top of where yours lay above your uterus.
“I can’t lie to you… I am, too,” he added, his voice heavy with thought.
“Am I a bad person for not being excited?” you asked, your voice surprisingly stable despite the racing heart in your chest.  “I mean, I am excited.  So far their hearts are still beating… but…”
“You’re not a bad person at all,” replied your husband, planting a kiss to the back of your head.  “It’s perfectly rational that you feel scared.”
“Terrified…” you clarified for the both of you.  “I feel terrified.”
You and Law made eye contact in the mirror.  The way he had his arms wrapped around you reminded you of a security blanket given to trauma victims in an ambulance.  The thought made a wry smile break out onto your lips, making your husband cock an eyebrow.
“What’s got you smiling all of a sudden?” he asked with a slight upward turn to the corner of his mouth.
You mustered out a dry chuckle.  “You’re my trauma victim security blanket.”
The randomness of your sentence made Law’s shoulders bounce slightly as he laughed, holding you closer to him.  “I know it’s really hard for you to do so, but I think we should both try as hard as we can to think positively.  It’ll probably be healthier for you.”
You looked up at him, a smirk dancing over your face.  “That sounds crazy coming from you.”
You yelped in surprise as Law scooped you into his arms and carried you to your shared bedroom before plopping you down on your mattress, him sprawling out beside you.  “What was that for?”
“So you wouldn’t stress yourself out in the mirror,” he replied, his voice hoarse yet tender as he stared at you from his pillow.  “I’m being serious, though.  I know the stakes are high, but there’s gotta be things we can think about to prevent you from getting stressed.”
You turned your body to lay on your back, lacing your hand with his as you stared at your ceiling.  “Any examples?”
Law hummed in thought, glancing around the room.  His eyes landed on your framed, signed Sora poster.  The frame had a very small crack in it from being moved out of your sophomore year dorm room, but the poster inside was still in perfect condition.  “Think about our kids watching Sora.  Maybe we can dress them up as Sora and Stealth Black for Halloween.”
The tender thought almost immediately made you smile.  Your mind flooded with even more thoughts of Law as a dad, tailoring Halloween costumes for his kids and making them feel perfect.  Your thoughts of Law with one baby had now evolved into thoughts of him with two, rocking two armfuls of swaddled infants to sleep, kissing their little foreheads, pushing them in a double stroller.  Your eyes began to well with tears which you quickly blinked away, choosing instead to push yourself up and roll over, hooking one of your legs in between Law’s and laying across his chest.  His arms instinctively wrapped around your waist, tracing invisible patterns into the skin of your back.
“I get really happy thinking about you as a dad,” you sighed.  “You’re gonna be so amazing.”
Law chuckled, his chest rumbling.  “That’s the kind of positivity I’m talking about.”
You giggled.  “I mean it, though.  Remember before we got married and you said you were so scared to have kids one day?  Because you didn’t want them to go through what we had?”
His face fell slightly, recalling the memory.  He was still in the middle of his residency program, and you were jumping job to job with random, unstable freelance gigs.  It wasn’t the instability of your lives that made him weary, however.  Rather, it was the looming anxiety that everything good in Law’s life would someday be snatched away from him.  And that had happened to you, twice.
But when he stepped back and thought about the broader picture, it got easier for him to see clearly.  How you put up with his shitty attitude when you first met.  How quickly you opened yourself up to him, exposing your deepest fears and troubles and being patient with him when he struggled to reveal his own worries to you.  How you told him you loved him after only five months, terrified that you were going to scare him off, and all he could do in response was give you the most awkward, inexperienced kiss you had probably ever received.  And you stayed by his side even when it took him almost a full year to say those three little words back.
You brushed your fingers along Law’s cheek, tracing the soft hair of his sideburns before hooking around his head and burying into the fluffy black wisps behind his ear.  You pressed a smattering of kisses across his jaw and cheekbones, over his nose and finally on his lips.  “When I think about positive things, I think of you.”
Law’s lips broke into a wide smile, the kind of smile he only ever showed you.  The kind of smile that wrinkled the skin around his eyes and revealed the single small dimple he had on his right cheek.
A sudden ringing from his phone on the bedside table startled the two of you out of your lovestruck daze.  With a grumble, he reached over and grabbed the device, you rolling off of him and sitting criss-cross on your side of the bed.  He tapped the answer button and pressed the phone to his ear.  You could just barely make out the words spoken on the other end.  After a brief goodbye, Law hung up the call and uttered a heavy sigh before standing up and grabbing his uniform coat.
“Emergency surgery?” you asked.  You were only slightly disappointed with the interruption of your intimate moment, but it was nothing you weren’t already used to.
He nodded with a frown before walking back over to you and stealing a quick kiss from your lips.  “Patient just came into the ED with a STEMI.  I’ll be back as soon as I can.”
“Don’t worry about me, go save the world,” you said with a smile.  He tossed you a somber grin as he stepped into his shoes, grabbed his work bag, and booked it out the door.  Living two minutes away from the hospital by car definitely had its perks.
You were surrounded by silence in your apartment when the front door was closed behind your husband.  With a sigh, you stood from the bed and paced toward Law’s wardrobe, opening the bottom drawer and pulling out one of his old sweatshirts.  It had a custom design on the front of it, one that he also had tattooed on his back.  His living situation after he lost his biological family wasn’t ideal, but the little ways he held onto the memory of his adoptive father always brought a smile to your face.  You pulled the hoodie over you, taking off your bra underneath it and throwing it onto the end of your mattress, tiredly rubbing your sore breasts underneath the soft cotton of his shirt.  You turned around to face the rest of your bedroom.
The pregnancy journal that you barely started writing in was placed on top of Law’s desk.  With a deep breath, you grabbed the book, a pen, and a roll of white-out tape and proceeded to your couch in the living room.
You smiled at the sight of Bepo, stomach completely upward facing and paws outstretched as he snoozed away on his dog bed.  You had a feeling Bepo was going to be an absolutely incredible big brother.
You leaned against a pillow rested along the arm of the couch and propped up your knees to place the book on your thighs.  You finally mustered up your anxieties and opened the cover.
“Nothing but positivity,” you muttered to yourself.  You uncapped the pen and started writing.

Why is my heart pounding? Y/N wonders groggily as her eyes flutter open. She can tell something is wrong. Her skin feels clammy and her whole body is shaking. Y/N slowly sits up, looking around confused. Her brain feels foggy and she can’t think straight. Tear well in her eyes from the frustration and she put her face in her hands.
“Are you okay, baby?” Bucky asks, voice thick with sleep.
Y/N bursts out in tears and he shoots up in bed.
“What is it? What’s wrong?” he asks, putting a hand on her cheek. Her skin is cold and sticky under his palm, “Steve, wake up,”
Y/N feels Steve sturs and sits up on her other side.
“Ladybug, what’s wrong?” Steve asks, rubbing her back.
“Don’t kn-know can’t think heart don’t know don’t fee-feel good,” Y/N sniffles.
“What’s your blood sugar?” Bucky asks, turning on the lamp.
Y/N squeezes her eyes shut, nuzzles her face into Steve’s chest in the bright light.
“Huh? Don’t know too dizzy,” she whimpers.
“It’s okay, princess, we’ll make it all better,” Steve soothes, wrapping his arm around her and Bucky grabs her phone off the nightstand.
Bucky goes straight to her Dexcom app.
“Shit,” he mumbles, pushing the blankets off and jumping out of bed.
“What? What is it?” Steve asks, tightening his grip about Y/N
“40.1 (2.2mmol/L) with double arrows down,” Bucky calls as he runs down the hall to the kitchen.
Bucky’s hands tremble as he grabs two bottles of orange juice from the fridge, as well as Y/N’s glucose tablets.
“Let’s manually check, baby,” Steve suggests, gently turning her so her back is against his chest. He grabs her diabetes bag off the nightstand and gets the glucometer (what checks how much sugar is in your blood) out. He quickly puts a strip in before getting the lancet (finger pricker) out. He quickly cleans her shaking index finger with an alcohol swab before pricking this finger.
“Oww Stevie,” Y/N whines.
“I know baby, I’m sorry,” he soothes, wiping the blood up with the strip. Steve lifts her still bleeding finger to his lips and sucks on it gently. 3…2…1…
“39.3, Buck!” Steve calls, releasing her finger with a pop.
“That bad?” Y/N slurs.
“Don’t close your eyes, Ladybug, Bucky will be right back,” Steve tells Y/N, gently tapping her cheek as her eyes start to close.
“Don’t li-like it,” she responds. Steve wipes the tears from her cheeks.
“I know, baby. Here’s Bucky!” Steve points out as Bucky plops down on the bed.
“Here you go, Ladybug,” Bucky voices, opening the orange juice and lifting it to her lips.
Y/N struggles to part her dry lips, still feeling confused. The sugary, tart juice is a shock to her system and she almost chokes on it.
“There you go, baby, think up,” Steve whispers, placing a hand on the back of her head.
“Take this too,” Bucky adds, opening the glucose tablets and getting two out. He gently parts her lips with his thumb and places them on her tongue before lifting the juice back up. She swallows them without hesitating.
“You’re doing so good, honey,” Steve soothes, “Keep drinking it,”
Y/N obeys, swallowing until the last drop is gone.
“Do you think that’s enough?” Steve whispers.
“I think? I don’t wanna overtreat and it goes high. Let’s just wait 15 minutes and recheck,”
“Bucky?”
“Yes, baby,” Bucky responds, putting a hand on his girlfriend’s leg.
“I’m sor…sorry I woke you up,” she stutters.
“It’s okay princess! I’m sorry you’re feeling icky. You’re gonna start feeling better soon, honey,”
Bucky places a hand on Y/N’s cheek and she leans into it.
“I love you,” she mumbles.
“I love you too,” Bucky smiles.
“And I love you,” Y/N repeats, flopping her head back on Steve’s shoulder.
“And I love you too, Ladybug,” Steve chuckles, “You’re our best girl. Always,”

Don't worry you're not dying: A collection of testosterone-related side effects you might not have known about
I've been on testosterone for about a year now, and have experienced some side effects that I'd personally never learned about while researching HRT. I didn't realize that these symptoms were related to testosterone for a long time, and became kinda worried about my health, but I've since learned that these aren't dangerous. So! I decided to make a list of side effects I've had, in the hopes that maybe someone experiencing the same will see this and be less afraid they're dying or something. I'll update this post whenever I get new information! Most recent update: 1/26/2024
Also, if I've found any specific product/method for making the symptom in question more manageable, I'll include that, too.
(ALSO also, obligatory "I am not a medical professional in any capacity, I am just some guy taking a prescription". Anyway, the list is under the cut. Thank u)
Dry skin - My face has definitely experienced the worst of it, but I've noticed that my skin in general is drier than before. Also, if you have eczema, it might get worse— areas of skin that were never too problematic for me in the past are prone to cracking and bleeding now. Using Aveeno Calm & Restore Oat Gel Moisturizer once daily has helped me with general facial dryness, and Flexitol Face & Eyelid Eczema Cream whenever necessary for eczema specifically.
Warm/dry eyes - All I can really say for this one at the moment is to stay hydrated and use cold compresses. Will report back if I find eyedrops that help
Numbness - My limbs fall asleep more frequently than before starting HRT, and with more intensity too. Waking up with one leg totally numb is something that happens once every couple weeks now. Terrifying, but harmless! I've heard that this gets better after you've been on T for a few years, and I have noticed that it happens way less frequently now that I'm about 2 years on HRT, than it did when I made this post.
You Will Smell Different - This is a commonly discussed one, but I still wanted to include it. Everything about you will smell different. Your pee will smell different. Please don't panic and think you have diabetes or something (I did this)
Hot flashes - I didn't realize these were hot flashes for the longest time because I didn't know that hot flashes weren't just pulses of heat, and in fact also involved sweating and unbearable itching. This is a PSA that they do that. Fun!
Poor temperature tolerance - In either direction. Some people only experience one or the other, and some people find that they can't handle heat or cold. Dress in what's comfortable so you don't sweat/freeze to death, even if it's different than you're used to!! This was brought to you by someone who stubbornly wore t-shirts in 40 degree weather because they used to be able to. Please do not do this
Worse menstrual cramps - This happened periodically throughout the first year of HRT for me; it's since mellowed out, and menstrual cramps actually hurt less than they did pre-T now.

first update - improve your acting skills & the green goddess juice
want to consume virtually nothing that still yields a lot of vitamins AND gets your family members off of your ass about eating? start juicing today!
(juicing, NOT smoothies)
A lot of people can not complete their goals due to constant nagging and worry from family. they don’t understand what we are doing. That’s fine, let them remain in their own ignorant, face stuffing state. Those who don’t want to see, wont see. Leave them in their bliss.
but put a little blush in your cheeks, sculpt your face to be a little rounder with makeup, wear baggy clothes, and smile when they look at you. Busy yourself with work and life, let it show that you take your professional or academic life seriously.
invest in proper skincare, vitamins and workout equipment to demonstrate how important your health is to you. Oh, you skipped two meals because you were still drinking a vitamin enriching miracle juice? Oh well, it’s because you love yourself.
When you stop eating, you’re losing out on vitamins that benefit other aspects of your beauty. What’s the point of a thin waste if your hair is just that light or your skin starts to dry up or become illy pale? You need vitamins to make up everything you won’t eat.
one of the best ways to get your vitamins is by a juice made purely of celery and a squeeze of lemon. Drink it everyday(ok, you can have one rest day). It won’t work if it’s a simple glass of juice though, you’re gonna need to juice a whole bag of celery and be drinking it throughout the day.
Tumblr media
there are a million more benefits to celery juice. But the most important thing is that it’s low cal, super healthy, and you won’t be eating anything the whole day! You can say you accidentally skipped dinner because of work or school and you can’t eat after 6, because that’s unhealthy. Be sure you’re able to lie through your teeth.
this will also help with people who have anemia, blood sugar problems or diabetes.
remember, this is a juice, not a smoothie. You need a juicer for this.

Hello, my candy coated darling, it's your vanilla baby I've come to say I love you and I always have I find it so amusing, I used to be confused and afraid that you would never love me back
But now I see that we always meant to be you and me forever planting lot of family trees counting out our children, half a zillion at least we'll name the boys for you and we will name the girls for me
Hello, the sour peach of my skin, the sweetest poison icing so tasty it could rot your teeth and brain The chaotic consumption, the diabetic gumption to do a thing like make me go insane
and leave this plane of reality completely float among the clouds of pink and blue cotton candy let's blast into space and race around like airplanes spreading multicolored chem-trails, soda pop and acid rain
Feels so neat! Never wanna be myself again, I just wanna be SW--E--ET! Feels so fun! Never wanna come back down (x2)
Goodbye to heartbreak on my birthday, annoying boys who hurt me with all the stupid things they do and say I can't even remember, what I was so upset for Spun sugar melts in water anyway
So no more crying, dry those tears, I'll end your pain Soon you'll feel the cherry syrup running through your veins Heaven is a grinning face with not a trace of shame Take a taste of every flavour, favour anything but plain
Feels so neat! Never wanna be myself again, I just wanna be SW--E--ET! Feels so fun! Never wanna come back down....

Lila Moss’s Guide to “Dot, Dot” Contouring and Next-Level Lashes
New Post has been published on https://medianwire.com/lila-mosss-guide-to-dot-dot-contouring-and-next-level-lashes/
Lila Moss’s Guide to “Dot, Dot” Contouring and Next-Level Lashes
Tumblr media
There are a few things Lila Moss has on her at all times: a multitasking lip balm, a lip liner, and a glucose device to monitor her type 1 diabetes. In true Gen Z fashion, transparency and authenticity are important to the 20-year-old model, who proudly sports the device daily—even while strutting on the Fendace and Vogue World catwalks. “It felt really amazing to [feel] like myself,” says Moss, who got her start modeling at age 14, picking up a few tricks from her supermodel mother Kate Moss. Today, the rising runway star shares her beauty routine, from soothing skin care to her go-to contouring strategy.
“Skin care has always been an important part of my day,” explains Moss. “I have quite sensitive skin, so my routine is quite simple.” First, she relies on gentle yet effective salves by London-based dermatologist Dr. Sam Bunting and Dermalogica—supplemented by the Face Gym Multi Sculpt contouring tool. “I like to do it under my sinuses—I feel like they’re a bit blocked at the moment, and it just feels nice,” she says while gliding the tool across her face. Next is Youth To The People’s firming eye cream to quell dark circles and prep for makeup. “I feel like if you put on eye cream and then concealer, it just sits nicer; it doesn’t look so dry and crusty.” For lips, Moss uses Laneige’s mask to the last drop, musing that her mother took her last pot of the cult-favorite treatment. “Recently, I’ve been really strict with myself about wearing sun cream because I just realized that it’s better for my skin,” she says as she applies an imperceptible veil of Ultra Violette’s weightless SPF. Then, a spritz of Cosmoss’s Sacred Mist from her mom’s recently launched wellness brand rounds out her skin care regimen. “It smells of [my mom] and it makes me so happy because it reminds me of her.”
With skin prepped, Moss is ready to dive into her going-out party look, beginning with Charlotte Tilbury’s buzzy Flawless Filter skin tint, buffing in the formula with a damp Beautyblender before blending concealer under her eyes and atop blemishes. “I think the best makeup advice I’ve ever received is from my mom, and it’s that less is more,” she says. Onto contour, Moss reveals her special “dot-dot” application strategy, which entails dotting along the hollows of her cheeks and forehead with Charlotte Tilbury’s contour wand before blending. Next up, Kosas’s tinted balm is swiped on the cheeks for a rosy flush, while brows are brushed into place with gel. Then, to accentuate her gaze, Moss smudges brown and champagne-hued shadow in the lids before using an eyelash curler and a few swipes of mascara to achieve next-level lashes. For a naturally fuller pout, Tilbury’s lip liner in Pillow Talk, followed by Fenty Beauty’s gloss does the trick. “I definitely take my lip liner with me when I’m going out—it’s in my bag all day, every day because it’s one of those things I wear when I’m not even wearing makeup,” she spills. After a light dusting of Glossier’s finishing powder and a mist of perfume, Moss is all set for a night on the town.

Stepping Towards Happy Feet: A Guide to Optimal Foot Health
Welcome to a comprehensive guide on foot health, where we explore the importance of maintaining healthy feet for overall well-being. Our feet carry us through each day, supporting our weight and aiding in our mobility. It is essential to prioritize their care to prevent discomfort and potential issues that can impact our daily lives. From choosing the right footwear to practicing proper hygiene and seeking timely treatment when needed, every step we take towards optimal foot health contributes to our overall quality of life.
One common concern that many individuals face is nail fungus, which can sometimes lead to discomfort and embarrassment. Finding relief and effectively managing conditions like Clavusin Nail Fungus is crucial for not only the health of our feet but also for our confidence and peace of mind. By understanding the root causes of such issues and utilizing the appropriate treatments, we can take proactive steps towards happy and healthy feet.
Causes of Nail Fungus
Nail fungus, also known as onychomycosis, is usually caused by fungi such as dermatophytes and yeasts. These organisms thrive in warm and damp environments, making feet enclosed in shoes for extended periods at higher risk of developing nail fungus.
Other common causes of nail fungus include poor foot hygiene, walking barefoot in public places such as swimming pools and gym showers, and wearing tight or ill-fitting shoes that create a warm, moist environment ideal for fungal growth.
Additionally, factors like compromised immune system, diabetes, circulation problems, and aging can weaken the body's natural defenses against fungal infections, increasing susceptibility to nail fungus. Regularly trimming nails too short or injuring the nail bed can also create entry points for fungi to infect the nail.

Prevention Tips
To maintain optimal foot health and prevent issues such as nail fungus, it is crucial to prioritize proper hygiene. Make sure to regularly wash your feet with soap and warm water, paying particular attention to the spaces between your toes, where moisture can accumulate.
In addition to cleanliness, wearing breathable footwear and moisture-wicking socks can help keep your feet dry and reduce the risk of fungal infections. Opt for shoes made of natural materials like leather and choose socks that draw moisture away from the skin to maintain a healthy environment for your feet.
Regularly trimming your toenails straight across and avoiding cutting them too short can help prevent ingrown toenails, which can be painful and lead to infections. Be gentle when caring for your nails and avoid sharing nail clippers to minimize the risk of spreading any potential infections.
Treatment Options
Now, let's explore some effective solutions for addressing foot health issues. One option to consider is Clavusin, a trusted product known for relieving nail fungus. This treatment is formulated to target fungal infections at the source, promoting healthier, clearer nails over time.
In addition to using specialized products like Clavusin, maintaining proper foot hygiene is paramount for overall foot health. Regularly washing and drying your feet, especially in between the toes, can help prevent fungal growth and other common foot ailments. Keeping your nails trimmed and clean is also essential to reducing the risk of infections.
Furthermore, for persistent foot health concerns, consulting a healthcare professional is advisable. A podiatrist can provide expert guidance and personalized treatment plans tailored to your specific needs. Seeking Clavusin Nail Fungus Relief ensures that any underlying issues are addressed comprehensively, leading to improved foot health and overall well-being.

If you have diabetes, you must already be tired of dry skin and the constant failures of DIY techniques. While we are sure that if you are a Vedelan customer, our dedicated products and regime for a diabetic dry skin face would have helped you; in case you aren’t one, this blog is for you.
The best part of a diabetic dry skin face is that all of these issues can be solved with dedicated care. There is no need for expensive treatments. You just have to treat your face right, and all the worries will be sorted.
15 BEST WAYS TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR DIABETIC DRY SKIN FACE
Thus, without much ado, let us now look at the 15 best ways to take care of your diabetic dry skin face!
USE WARM WATER
When washing your face, ensure the water is neither too cold nor too hot. Lukewarm water is the best to maintain the moisture level of the face while also ensuring that your facial muscles don’t contract unnecessarily, resulting in wrinkles.
DON’T BE OBSESSED WITH THE FRAGRANCE.
Most dermatologists advise the usage of mild facial cleansers depending upon the skin’s pH; trust their advice.
USE COCONUT OR KUMKUMADI OIL
While coconut oil is ideally the best for diabetic dry skin faces, many people tend to get pimples. Thus, if coconut oil doesn’t suit you, go for kumkumadi oil and make sure that you massage the oil into your skin every night for a lasting effect.
USE AN OATMEAL MOISTURISER
An oatmeal-based moisturizer is another good alternative to facial oils. Oatmeal moisturizers help soothe the skin and can also help in treating inflamed or irritated skin. In addition, oatmeal as an ingredient is instrumental in preventing damage due to the UV rays, too, so that’s another plus. Vedelan’s Moisturiser Body Care cream is perfect for diabetic skin.
USE ALOE VERA GEL
Aloe vera is known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. In addition to this, it is a fairly good moisturizer too. The good thing is that you don’t have to purchase the gel. Instead, cut a bit of aloe vera in half and apply the gel directly to your face. Then, wash it with slightly cool water after about 10 minutes, and you’ll feel the difference yourself.
TRY AVOCADO MASK
Avocados are a rich source of Vitamin E, a good antioxidant and skin moisturizer. An avocado face pack can be good to provide the much-needed moisture to your diabetic dry skin face. All you need to do is half avocado, one tbsp olive oil, and one tbsp milk. Mix the ingredients well into a fine paste and apply it to your face and neck. Wait for 20 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water. Do this two to three times a week for best results.
USE HYALURONIC-BASED SERUM
Hyaluronic acid is known to keep your skin hydrated, plump, and glowing. It also helps clean the skin and control excess oil production. You can apply this serum in the morning or any time during the day for a glow and suppleness that lasts throughout.
SKIP ANTI-AGING PRODUCTS
We know that this must have come out to be surprising, but yes, most anti-aging products are full of retinoids or AHAs, which irritate the skin and even rid it of its moisture. If you are using products that do not have these chemicals, keep using but otherwise- keep a check.
EXFOLIATE
Many skin concerns stem from dead skin piling up or the sebaceous glands blocking. Continued exfoliation done twice a week can keep all these problems at bay.  Also, do not over-exfoliate as that would damage your skin.
USE ESSENTIAL OILS
Everyone loves a good rejuvenating bath. So, if you have a bathtub, put some essential oils in the water for that extra relaxation. Alternatively, you can use a diffuser for disseminating these essential oils or just rub them on your body like you would rub any moisturizer. Ensure that you apply the essential oils immediately after bath and on a slightly wet body so the moisture can be locked in.
WEAR SUN PROTECTION
Be it wearing sunglasses and hats or applying an SPF 50+ sunscreen, it is important to save yourself from the UV rays that can cause itching and sunburn. As a person with diabetes, sun protection has to be on priority for the protection of your diabetic dry skin face because the damage that would be caused to your skin would be hard to reverse in most cases.
KEEP THOSE LIPS HAPPY.
The cheeks, nose, and forehead are not the only parts of the body with dry skin. Additionally, your lips may get dry and crack. Apply a hydrating lip balm or oil to take care of your lips. As a daily lip mask, you can also apply a mixture of honey and coconut oil to cure dry lips.
USE OIL-BASED MAKEUP
For diabetic dry skin face, it is best to avoid water-based makeup. These makeup products are known to include substances like dimethicone that could make your skin even drier. Instead, use cream- or oil-based foundations, eyeshadows, lipsticks, blushes, and other makeup. These cosmetic products with added hydration are always beneficial for dry skin. The proper cosmetics also stop any dry skin areas and skin flaking. In addition, using such items gives your skin a healthy glow and a dewy finish.
STAY HYDRATED
Goes without saying that you will have to keep yourself adequately hydrated if you are looking at preventing that typical diabetic dry skin face. Unfortunately, there is no number on the amount of water you should drink, but a minimum of 2-3 liters would be required. In addition, you can also consume water-rich foods like watermelons, oranges, grapes, muskmelons, celeries, cucumbers, and tomatoes to add nutrients to hydration.
TAKE OMEGA-3S AND VITAMIN E
Last but not least is the need to take supplements. Go for Omega-3 Fatty acid and Vit E supplements to make up for what you cannot do with your diet. These supplements help reduce inflammation and produce enough anti-oxidants to fight signs of damage.
So, folks, that was it from our side. Hope it gave your some perspective on how to take care of your skin if you have diabetes.

Addressing underlying health conditions, such as diabetes or compromised immune function, which may increase susceptibility to fungal infections.
Prevention of Fungal Skin Infections: Preventive measures play a crucial role in reducing the risk of fungal skin infections. These include:
Maintaining good personal hygiene by regularly washing and drying the skin, especially in areas prone to sweating.
Wearing clean, breathable clothing and changing out of wet or sweaty clothes promptly.
Avoiding walking barefoot in public areas like locker rooms, showers, and swimming pools to prevent exposure to fungi.
Using antifungal powders or sprays in shoes to inhibit the growth of fungi, particularly in moist environments.
Refraining from sharing personal items such as towels, socks, or shoes with others to minimize the risk of infection transmission.
Adopting a healthy lifestyle, including a balanced diet and regular exercise, to support overall immune function and skin health.
Conclusion: Fungal skin infections are common conditions that can cause significant discomfort and affect individuals of all ages. By familiarizing yourself with the symptoms, types, and treatment options for fungal skin infections, you can take proactive steps to manage these conditions effectively. Dogs are more than just pets; they're beloved members of our families. Just like with our human loved ones, ensuring our furry friends' well-being is a top priority. A significant aspect of keeping our dogs healthy is being aware of common dog health issues they might face and taking proactive steps to prevent them. In this blog, we'll explore some of the most frequent dog health problems and provide simple, actionable tips to help you keep your canine companion in tip-top shape. Dog Health Issues 1. Obesity: A Growing Concern One of the most prevalent dog health issues affecting today is obesity. Just like humans, dogs can struggle with excess weight, leading to a range of health problems, including joint issues, diabetes, and heart disease. Preventing obesity is as simple as controlling your dog's diet and ensuring they get regular exercise. Opt for high-quality dog food with appropriate portion sizes, and engage in daily walks or playtime to keep them active. 2. Dental Health: Beyond the Bark Dental problems might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think about dog health issues, but they can have a significant impact on your pup's overall well-being. Dental issues can lead to pain, difficulty eating, and even systemic health problems. To prevent dental problems, regularly brush your dog's teeth using a dog-friendly toothbrush and toothpaste. Additionally, provide dental chews and toys designed to promote oral health. 3. Fleas, Ticks, and Worms: Tiny Troublemakers Parasites like fleas, ticks, and worms can cause a host of health problems in dogs. Fleas and ticks can transmit diseases, while intestinal worms can lead to digestive issues. Protect your dog by using veterinarian-recommended flea and tick prevention products. Regularly administer deworming treatments as advised by your vet to keep internal parasites at bay. 4. Allergies: Sniffles and Scratches Dogs, just like humans, can suffer from allergies. Allergic reactions can manifest as itchy skin, ear infections, and gastrointestinal problems. Common allergens include pollen, certain foods, and environmental factors. If you notice your dog scratching excessively or experiencing other unusual symptoms, consult your vet. They can help determine the allergen and guide you in managing the issue, which might involve dietary adjustments or medication. 5. Ear Infections: Listen Up! Ear infections are a common problem in dogs, especially those with floppy ears. Signs of an ear infection include ear scratching, head shaking, and a foul odor coming from the ears. Regularly clean your dog's ears using vet-approved cleaning solutions, and ensure they are thoroughly dry after baths or swimming. If an infection develops, seek veterinary care promptly to prevent it from worsening. 6. Joint Issues: Arthritis and Beyond As dogs age, joint problems, such as arthritis, become more common. Large breeds are especially susceptible, but any dog can develop joint issues over time. To prevent joint problems, provide a balanced diet that supports joint health and manage your dog's weight to reduce stress on their joints. Engage in low-impact exercises like swimming or gentle walks to keep their joints mobile. 7. Heatstroke: Keeping Cool in the Canine Heat Heatstroke is a serious concern, especially during hot summer months. Dogs can't sweat like humans, making them more susceptible to overheating. Never leave your dog in a hot car and ensure they have access to shade and fresh water. On hot days, limit strenuous activities, and avoid walking your dog on scorching pavement that could burn their paw pads. 8. Gastrointestinal Upsets: Tummy Turmoil Dogs are notorious for their curious appetites, which can lead to gastrointestinal upsets. Common dog health issues include table scraps, toxic plants, and foods that are toxic to dogs (like chocolate and grapes). Stick to a consistent and balanced diet, and avoid feeding your dog human food. If your dog experiences vomiting, diarrhea, or other digestive issues, consult your vet.
9. Respiratory Issues: Sniffles and Sneezes Just like humans, dogs can experience respiratory issues, including coughing, sneezing, and nasal congestion. These issues can stem from infections, allergies, or environmental factors. Keep your dog away from smoke and other irritants, and make sure they receive their vaccinations to prevent certain respiratory infections. 10. Cancer: A Growing Concern Cancer is a concern for dogs, with certain breeds being more predisposed than others. While cancer prevention isn't always straightforward, maintaining a healthy lifestyle through proper diet, exercise, and regular veterinary check-ups can help catch potential issues early. Be vigilant for unusual lumps, bumps, or changes in behavior, and consult your vet if you have any concerns. Conclusion Our dogs bring immense joy and companionship to our lives, and it's our responsibility to ensure they lead happy, healthy lives in return. By understanding the common health issues that can affect dogs and taking preventive measures, we can provide our furry friends with the best chance at a long and vibrant life. Remember, a little bit of care and attention today can go a long way in preventing potential health problems down the road. Joint Problems: French Bulldogs may suffer from hip dysplasia and patellar luxation, leading to discomfort and mobility issues if untreated.
Allergies: Environmental factors like pollen, dust, or certain foods can trigger allergies in Frenchies, manifesting as itching, redness, or ear infections.
Eye Conditions: They are susceptible to various eye issues, including cherry eye, dry eye, and cataracts.
Obesity: Their inclination to overeat combined with a tendency to gain weight easily puts French Bulldogs at risk of obesity, which can lead to diabetes, joint problems, and heart disease.
Heat Sensitivity: Difficulty regulating body temperature makes them prone to heatstroke, emphasizing the importance of keeping them cool and hydrated, especially in warmer weather.
Digestive Problems: Some may experience flatulence, diarrhoea, or food sensitivities, necessitating a balanced diet and avoidance of table scraps.
Dental Concerns: Periodontal disease and tooth decay are common dental issues, underscoring the need for regular dental care.

What Good is Sesame Oil?
Tumblr media
A popular and edible oil that adds a rich, nutty flavor to your foods, is sesame oil. It is high in omega-6 fats and can provide certain health benefits, when moderately and properly used. This oil is derived from sesame (Sesamum indicum), which is a tall annual herb that comes from the Pedaliaceae family. Commonly used as a food ingredient and condiment, sesame oil is also used for medicinal purposes. Cultivated for thousands of years, it is believed to be the world’s oldest plant used as an oil. Sesame today grows extensively in Asia, China, Burma and India. In Sudan, Ethiopia and Nigeria, sesame oil is one of the chief commercial crops.
The light sesame oil is made from raw sesame seeds and has a light nutty flavor, whereas the dark sesame oil is made from toasted sesame seeds and has a stronger flavor and aroma. In Ayurvedic medicine, sesame oil is used as a base oil for about 90% of the herbal oils, and is renowned for it ability to strengthen and detoxify the body. It is also used in sacred and religious ceremonies. The oil is used today as a common component of skin and massage oils, hair care products, cosmetics, soaps, perfumes and sunscreens. It has a great moisturizing, soothing and emollient quality.
Some uses of the oil are:
Skin moisturizer. Apply to the skin to keep it soft and smooth, and from wrinkles forming.
Remove toxins from your mouth. This is considered oil pulling, however, coconut oil is better for this as it tastes better.
Natural sunscreen. Apply all over your face and body, and reapply after getting out of the water.
Skin detoxifier. Oil-soluble toxins are attracted to sesame seed oil molecules. Apply on your skin, leave for 15 minutes, then wash it off with warm water.
Boosts scalp and hair health. Massage oil into your scalp and hair to keep hair strong and shiny. Effective at relieving dry scalp, dandruff and hair loss.
There are some potential health benefits that can be found on sesame in the medical literature, such as:
Diabetes – A 2006 study in the Journal of Medicinal Food.
Multiple sclerosis – Sesame oil helped from developing autoimmune encephalomyelitis in mice.
Atherosclerosis – The sesamol was found to have an impact on the atherosclerotic process.
Cancer – Using high concentrations of sesomol and sesamin in sesame oil has been found to induce mitochondrial apoptosis in colon cancer as well as in prostate, breast, lung, leukemia, multiple myeloma and pancreatic cancers.
Sesame oil is generally safe and has been evaluated safe for use in cosmetics. This assessment was published in the International Journal of Toxicology. It is a mild inflammatory and has high omega-6 levels. They recommend consuming it in very small amounts. Do NOT consume or use this oil if you have an allergy to sesame seeds, as it may lead to allergic reactions. Pregnant women or nursing moms should use extreme caution. It may have hormone-inducing effects that could trigger uterine contractions that can lead to preterm labor or miscarriage in the pregnant women.
Sesame allergy is a very real concern in today’s world. Some symptoms of sesame allergy can be mild itching to anaphylaxis, a potentially fatal condition that can restrict breathing within seconds to hours of contact. Some reports have found that people with allergy to nuts, like walnuts and peanuts, may also experience allergic reactions to sesame seeds and oil.
