Hello there! Hope you're doing well on your holiday! This is my first time requesting oof. Could I request how Sebastian, Ash, Prince Soma and Hannah react to their darling outright asking them why they are genuinely interested in them. Darling is confused and believes they're not that interesting to even bring the attention of people like them. They're pretty closed off from others and was at first weary of the intentions they had and just finally just asked to get a firm answer. Thank you! Love your writing!
I enjoyed my holidays whilst they lasted, sadly they’re over now and I have to wait about 3 months until summer break😣.
Tw: Yandere themes, unhealthy mindset, unhealthy relationship, possessiveness, obsessiveness, paranoia, delusions, kidnapping, manipulation, sabotage, isolation, emotional guilt-tripping, self-harm
Why do you like me?
Sebastian Michaelis
Tumblr media
🐈‍⬛He pretty much openly courts you by now, after his time observing you for a bit, finding out what his darling likes and what’s not, how he can get closer to his darling without any problems. Sebastian has every intention to pamper you if you don’t throw a tantrum in which case he has to be more strict on you. And the fact that you are closed off from others is such a delightful thing to witness. It makes the whole situation a lot more easier, he doesn’t have to worry too much about you being interested in someone else or dedicating your time to someone else. I personally believe every demon in Black Butler is isolating due to their posssessiveness.
🐈‍⬛He was prepared for this question of yours, he sensed your suspicions since quite some time and why wouldn’t you? Sebastian is a mysterious man for everyone. On the one hand he is charming and handsome and can do anything, on the other hand there is this mischievous and evil vibe around him that tells you to stay away. It is also a bit unnerving how he seems to know everything about you, from your favorite flowers down to your favorite color.
🐈‍⬛Sebastian is known for keeping his calm and his charm and since he expected you to ask him this sooner or later, he already had much time to prepare an answer, even though he would have been great in answering you that question even if he wouldn’t have known about this. He would give you a charming smile and be very smug about this question of yours, somewhat teasing you by asking if it shouldn’t be obvious by now. He’s trying to court you, kitten. He would find enjoyment if you would look baffled whilst also being fluttered by this answer of his, which might just earn you more playful teasing mixed with fluttering comments why he likes you.
Hannah Annafellows
Tumblr media
🟣Similar to Sebastian, she would start expressing her interest openly to you after a while, even though she would even before that try to be a close friends with you. From all the demons in this Anime, I would say Hannah is one of the worse types to have, it’s either her or the triplets Timber, Thompson and Canterbury. She uses isolation and letting people disappear from your life as a way to draw you closer to her and trust her more. So whilst she will be definitely pleasant upon discovering that her darling is a loner, she will also have to think of another ways to make them trust her more since making important people for them disappear isn’t too possible except family which Hannah doesn’t want to kill as long as they don’t do something to annoy her. She has after all only a true place for her darling in her heart.
🟣She just senses how much you are weary of her, especially in the beginning. You have surely your reasons, after all she is from the Trancy manor and there are certain rumors about this place. Next to that she is a demon and whilst being talented in anything can amaze people, it can also scare them. And here as well the fact that she knows so much, too much about you is unnerving as well. Trying to distance yourself wouldn’t really work though, it’s as good as impossible to escape a demon and given your mistrust, Hannah will also start intensifying her strategies to make you cling onto her more.
🟣Different from Sebastian she relies a lot on guilt-tripping to persuade her darling into many things. So there is a chance she will pretend to be a bit hurt by this question, asking how you couldn’t notice. She uses this question as a chance for being so distrusting of her. She will act all saddened and upset, maybe even she’s the one or another tear. This will make you feel most likely bad for her. Secondary to that she will also tell you in a mellow and sincere voice what she likes about you, using it as a way that will hopefully make you fall for her.
Prince Soma
Tumblr media
🍛Try to explain to him that you don’t feel the way he does and you’ll quickly discover that his lovesick brain will twist everything you say into what he wants to hear. Soma is together with Finny heavily delusional to the point where about nothing can convince him that you don’t feel the same. For that it is not even courting what he does, it is already acting like you and him are already a couple and will marry later on (which will happen in his mind anyways). Whilst Soma is someone who gets easily jealous, he also doesn’t want you to be alone. He means, you aren’t. You have him. But at the very least Ciel and Agni will become people you will often interact with.
🍛Privacy is gone the moment he fell for you and his interest is painfully visible for everyone. He starts spoiling you, giving you a lot of affection and is everywhere you are all over you. It’s highly uncomfortable given the fact that you don’t even like him and it’s only thanks to Agni that he doesn’t completely monopolies your time and makes you move in with him. But Agni is also loyal to his prince and for that will at least try to talk you into giving Soma a chance. That boy is too oblivious to realize that you are hesitant around him, he’ll just brush it off as shyness.
🍛He is confused, to say the very least. He thought you were just as much in love with him as he is with you. Why would you even ask him this? And try to guess what he will interpret it as, with that sense mind of his. Your prince will start thinking that he didn’t show you enough affection, that he didn’t make his love clear enough yet. It causes him to give you a more childish reaction, suddenly suffocating you in a really tight hug and whining. He’s upset with himself, thinking it’s his fault for making you think that way. Oh well, then he’ll have to show you even more.
Ash Landers
Tumblr media
▫️I’m so sorry to say this, but Ash needs not a lot of time to kidnap you, the longest would be a week in which he would act at first more as a secret guardian for you. I mentioned it a lot of times before, but Ash is a lot more hesitant with giving you affection, even though he would honestly die to be able to. You’re perfection in his eyes and he does not think that he deserves you or to be honored enough to touch you. You’re gonna be isolated anyways the moment he takes you, but he would definitely kidnap you even faster when noticing how you seem to avoid people. You’re literally begging him to take you away from the filth. And who is he to neglect you that wish? He will take you and afterwards treat you like a royalty.
▫️Keep with this man always one thing in mind, he wavers very easily, too easily when it comes to you. It’s understandable that you would throw tantrums, but for the love of god, please calm down. He would never show you, but behind the scenes, Ash punishes himself heavily whenever you seem upset with him. He has an obsessive fixation on keeping you happy and safe and by acting that way, showing him how unhappy you are plus the incredibly distant acting due to not trusting him (who wouldn’t when being kidnapped?), you’ll throw him into a whirlwind of dreadful fear and shame and a good piece of paranoia.
▫️He will react emotionally and affected. Ash’s goal is it to show you how special and pure you are, to make it clear to you that you deserve more than the best. He feels like he did pretty much everything wrong if you ask him still what he sees in you, though I’m sure he held already very long speeches about why he had to take you. But it’s still understandable why you would ask. You probably thought that there were far more pure people than you in this town. It’s not the worst reaction you got to see from him though, there were far more unnerving ones. He will very likely burst out in tears since someone like you shouldn’t ask this. Will beg for forgiveness to not be more clear about it and afterwards he will start rambling in a maniac way about why you’re perfect.

For your Halloween prompt list, can you do 2 for Sebastian and Claude (separately) where the reader convinces them to wear a maid dress for the day? 👀
Tumblr media
No worries at all, hope you enjoy!! This was hilarious to write
2] Dressing up (costumes, cosplay and the like)
Masterlist
-
Claude
You want him to what? Why?
Exactly what purpose is this humiliation tactic supposed to serve
And ‘Because it would be funny’ really wasn’t the answer he was looking for
Be prepared for literally no verbal answer, just the slow raising of one eyebrow and a sudden feeling of being very small
You start laughing - nervous laughing - in an attempt to cover the flush creeping up your cheeks and how embarrassed you are beginning to feel
However, instead of a straight out, deadpan ‘no’, which is what you were expecting, you get instead a “Are you being serious?”
It’s said in that monotone voice of his so you can’t tell exactly what he is thinking, equally you can’t manage that most of the time - it’s something of a goal you set yourself to get his expression and or tone of voice to change
Frankly you were expecting at least some sort of emotion to show itself at this request
A huff emits from your partner’s lips
Well that counts as something, right? Better than-
A chuckle
Your eyes widen and your head shoots up in surprise, but your eyes tell you what you heard was indeed correct
His lips were quirked upwards at the corner and his eyes slightly narrowed; a hand brought up to his face in an attempt to cover it
It happens again when he takes in the look on your features, utter shock and disbelief
What shocks you more is when he gently pushes his glasses back up the bridge of his nose and steps closer to you to rest his hands on your waist
And then says yes
You’re sorely tempted to ask who is standing on front of you and what have they done with Claude
“This is perhaps one of the most ridiculous things I have been asked to do during my time in the human realm,” you were already aware that amounted to a good few centuries, “but fine. If and only if it would serve to amuse you.”
You couldn’t keep the cheeky grin off your lips
“It definitely would”
Getting an outfit big enough to successfully fit him was the first issue, the second was convincing him to put it on in the morning and wear it for the whole day
“I doubt many dress up for Halloween until the evening, afternoon if it involves children”
You tell him that yes, people definitely do dress up earlier than that
What finally tips him over is you saying that you’ll put your costume on as well
Which turns out to be a matching maid dress
You’ve successfully confused the demon more than anything else, but he does actually wear the costume for the day
Sebastian
Sebastian looks about as confused as you’ve ever seen him when you make your request
His eyebrows draw together almost comically as his gaze flicks between your eyes, working out whether you were joking or not
Evidently you weren’t
You laugh to cover up your nervousness as he just kind of stares at you, grinning as you wait for your reply
“May I enquire as to why?” The demon asks in the end, amusement now starting to bubble just under the surface of his straight face
You just shrug lightly, smile growing, and tell him you think it would be really funny
Sebastian steps towards you and wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you close to him
You rest your hands on his shoulders and keep eye contact with him
“You think it would be funny,” he repeats back to you, raising a teasing eyebrow as you nod slowly
“Then what would I get to amuse me in return?”
You open your mouth to answer, then falter, hesitating as you ponder what exactly he would want you to do
“I’ll wear whatever costume you want?” You ask, mentally crossing your fingers and hoping he doesn’t pick anything too ridiculous
The sudden, decidedly evil grin you get makes you question that thought
What he decides on in the end (after multiple dramatic pauses for effect) is to get you to dress up like a butler
Not too bad all things considered - you were expecting to end up wearing something far more ridiculous and less Halloweeny
That said, when it turns out you want him to wear the costume the whole day, Sebastian’s conditions change
You have to also wear your costume for the whole day, but on top of that, you have to play butler to him
You can’t help but laugh when he says it, wondering what Ciel would think if he were around or happened to find out about your deal
It seems a comparatively small price to pay though, so you agree to it quickly
And that was how you ended up spending Halloween doing all the things Sebastian wanted to which you had previously disagreed on
He wanted a cat and so did you, but you didn’t think there would be enough time for you to look after one
Therefore you went to a local shelter and came back with two cats, Sebastian insisting the two of you would be able to look after them
He knew how much you loved Halloween and wanted to treat you to an awesome grave decoration, one you’d previously told him was too expensive
If Sebastian got weird looks from people, he really couldn’t care less
He just carried on regardless
You got home again in the early afternoon, ready to start preparing for trick or treaters

Summary: After his failures during the Campania incident, Ronald Knox is sent to investigate Sebastian’s involvement in a string of murders across London. He soon discovers that Sebastian and his master are also investigating the case, unaware that they are involved. The two parties reluctantly team up to discover the truth.
According to the case files—which Sebastian had relieved Scotland Yard of when no one was looking—Miss Byron’s study had been thoroughly combed over after her body had been found inside. The rest of her manor had naturally also been searched, but Ciel voiced his lack of faith in the Yard’s abilities so many times that Ronald was ready to tear the house down brick by brick just to shut him up. They didn’t have the information from Byron’s maid, Ciel had explained, there was every chance they’d missed evidence, especially if they didn’t know to concentrate on her brother’s disused bedroom.
“Besides,” he continued, “They don’t have Sebastian’s eyes.”
Miss Byron kept her home in far better nick than her brother. The garden was neat and only  overgrown to a level one would expect when the lady of the estate was quite dead. However, by Sebastian’s standards this was nothing short of obscene. He glanced at a minuscule weed and wrinkled his nose.
They had no key– no one had given them permission to be there. But even from outside, Ronald could tell the house was empty. The door itself was no obstacle. Sebastian tried it first and it swung open without any resistance.
“How careless,” he mused, with an amused lilt to his voice. Ronald had a sneaking suspicion it hadn’t been unlocked until his demon hands had touched it.
The entry hall was gloomy and stuffed with the thick musk of an unoccupied room. Their footsteps clicked loudly as they approached the staircase, the sound somehow magnified in the unoccupied house. If someone else was here they would have easily heard them. But there was no one, not even staff. The heavy weight of death lingered in the very walls of the manor.
“Where is Mr. Byron’s old room Sebastian?” Ciel asked.
Sebastian closed his eyes and inhaled deeply. When he opened them again they glowed for a moment, his demonic power barely contained. “This way,” was all he said before he led them up the stairs and down the corridor to the left. How Sebastian knew which room it was by scent alone Ronald wasn’t certain, but he found himself irritatingly impressed by the feat.
“You ever use him to hunt for truffles?”
Ciel huffed a laugh, “I knew it would be worth keeping you around.”
“I’ll have you know I found truffles growing near the manor just last week,” Sebastian chimed in, “I believe you sampled them the other night.”
“Sounds like you’re quite the truffle hunter then.”
“Among other things,” Sebastian said with a glimmer of pride.
For a moment they allowed Sebastian to savour his moment in the sun, but then Ciel snapped the curtains shut. “He’s calling you a pig, Sebastian.”
A click of his tongue was the only indication of Sebastian’s displeasure, but he fell silent after that. Damn. Ronald would’ve drawn out his goading for as long as he could if it weren’t for Ciel. Not that he had long to dwell on it. They soon arrived at the bedroom in question. Sebastian opened the door, then ushered Ciel and Ronald in ahead of him.
The room was familiar somehow, although Ronald couldn’t place why. There was nothing memorable about it; it was nothing more than your standard stately bedroom, covered all over in blue wallpaper and furnished with what had become antique furniture since the last time it had been used.
And yet, for all its years of disuse, the room was free of dust. Ronald ran his finger over the table and marvelled at how it came away clean. Miss Byron must have employed some bloody efficient servants if they kept an unused room so spotless. Ronald turned to ask Sebastian his thoughts, but found he hadn’t followed them in. Instead he hesitated at the doorway, looking uneasily—almost fearfully—around the room, as though he was trying to locate something neither Ronald nor Ciel knew how to look for.
“What are you doing?” Ciel asked. There was no concern in his voice, only irritation at Sebastian’s deviation from the norm.
“I don’t like it,” Sebastian said.
“Don’t like what?”
“I don’t know,” he admitted. His brows scrunched, his placid expression gone. “Something happened here.”
“Can you be more specific?” Ronald asked. Sebastian shot him a glare and took a tentative step past the room’s threshold. He was breathing heavily, shoulders hunched slightly in contrast to his usual perfect posture. Ronald hadn’t even been aware that Sebastian needed to breathe. He still suspected he didn’t. Always the dramatist was Sebastian.
“The room’s been warded,” Sebastian said.
Ciel and Ronald both stared blankly.
“It’s a protection against my kind. It’s weak. Whoever cast it did so long enough ago that the immediate effect has worn off but…” He winced, a flash of canines poking out of his grimace, “it lingers.”
Ciel was apparently already bored. He began searching though an empty chest of draws for any evidence. However, something about his countenance made him look like a cat deliberately ignoring an overly affectionate human. No matter how he tried to hide the truth, he was clearly concerned about Sebastian.
“How does one make a ward?” Ciel asked without turning around.
“I’d rather you didn’t get any ideas,” Sebastian said. He took another shaking step into the room and tried to investigate as though he were unaffected. He really did always have a tendency to power through these sorts of things. Ronald remembered that night on the Campania and how Sebastian had still defeated him while he should have been incapacitated by his injuries. For him to be this weak now… was it a farce or did the lingering effects of the ward really have this much power over him?
“Is something the matter Knox?”
“No, it’s nothing.” Ronald spun around so that he wouldn’t be tempted to keep watching Sebastian’s struggle. Instead he busied himself by peering under a desk. There was nothing there, of course. It was more a distraction than anything. He was about to stand up again when something on the wood caught his eye. It was a slight white mark, half on the carpet and half on the desk’s wooden leg. Ronald craned for a closer look.
And suddenly Sebastian was at his side, one hand bracing himself on Ronald’s arm as he peered over his shoulder. Two days ago Ronald would have cried out in alarm over this surprise contact, but after being constantly on edge since starting his investigation, the most he did was flinch.
“What have you found?”
“I don’t know,” Ronald admitted, “It looks like white dust.”
Sebastian prodded the mark with a long finger, then examined it close to his face. Ronald couldn’t see a thing against the white fabric of Sebastian’s glove, but apparently Sebastian could see it just fine.
“It’s chalk,” he said.
“Why would there be chalk there?” Ronald asked.
“Perhaps Mister Byron enjoyed hopscotch,” Sebastian said dryly, wiping the dust from his fingers. He stood up again and sniffed at the air, frowning. Then he darted across the room and, while somehow remaining perfectly graceful, dropped to his hands and knees and shoved his head in the fireplace. Ciel didn’t seem to think this at all unusual.
“Blood,” Sebastian said suddenly, his voice echoing into the chimney.
“Could you maybe share what you’ve found with the class?” Ciel drawled.
Sebastian emerged again. The tips of his fringe had turned grey in patches from the soot. “There are blood splatters in the fireplace. Ciel craned a look. “There, in the corner.”
“I can’t see it.”
“For someone with such large eyes I’d expect you’d see more,” Sebastian said. Then, upon seeing Ciel’s displeasure he added, “I jest. You’re only human, and there isn’t much left. No doubt whoever cleaned the rest of it didn’t catch these last drops. I suppose they had human eyes too.”
“The rest of it?”
Sebastian clicked in Ronald’s direction. “Knox, do you have access to the photographs you showed us before?”
Ronald frowned. He conjured his case file and flipped through it, scanning the catalogued murder scenes for the photograph in question. He knew exactly which one Sebastian meant the second he flicked to it. The photograph one of his colleagues had taken at the scene of Shelly Byron’s death, it wasn’t taken in the study where her body was found. It was this room. She’d died here.
Well that explained the chalk, even if it did bring up an array of other questions. Ronald tilted his head to get a better look at the botched summoning attempt. It was hard to make out much of the summoning circle beneath the blood splatter. No mere knife to the heart could have caused such a tremendous eruption of blood. Nothing natural could have. It was no wonder some had made its way into the fireplace.
Ronald handed the photograph over, but Sebastian hardly needed to glance at it before he explained the discovery to his master. If Miss Byron had been moved there was every possibility the other victims had been too, which also meant there were whole droves of evidence the Yard could have missed.
But Ronald didn’t care about catching the killer, that was something the living could sort out amongst themselves. He already knew the name of the killer—hell, he’d been in the killer’s home—what he cared about was why they were summoning demons and how on Earth that was going to play out. From his experience, no case involving demons ended cleanly.
“What I don’t understand,” Ronald said, “Is why anyone would put up a ward if they were summoning a demon.”
“Maybe they changed their mind,” Sebastian suggested.
“After their third attempt?”
“Well…”
“Maybe the wrong demon came though,” Ciel said quietly. Sebastian stilled at the suggestion, the unsaid implication hanging thickly in the air around them.
The spread of the blood. Ronald snatched the photo back and studied it intently. It didn’t look like it had been caused by natural means because it hadn’t. The killer had managed to summon a demon. And then what? He’d cast a ward, whatever that meant. Ronald didn’t know for sure, but judging by Sebastian’s response he suspected it didn’t merely banish a demon.
The wrong demon…
If there was a wrong demon, there had to be a right one. And then it clicked. The circle, the consistency, the errors. Ronald’s assignment to watch the Phantomhive manor. There was a connection after all.
The murderer wasn’t trying to summon a demon with some random circle design they’d stumbled upon.
They wanted Sebastian specifically.
And they were about to kill again.

I sent this like 2 hours earlier but idk if you counted this one? What if Sebastian was attracted to reader but she was hopelessly in love with another person who loved her back but couldn’t really be with her? Kind of like a “sense and sensibility” except when she finds out he’s betrothed to another and completely shatters her heart, Sebastian is there and uses his demonic seduction and makes her forget everything about the other dude? I really love your writing! I might’ve already sent this?
I got a little bit confused there so I improvised and I hope you enjoy it nevertheless!
Sebastian knew the taste of eternity, the bittersweet sensation at the tip of his tongue and the whisper at the back of his head telling him that nothing, none could ever experience as much as him. He enjoyed it a lot, just like the pride it was giving him with the mere knowledge of how many things his eyes could see which were going to forever be invisible for everyone else, no matter how long they prayed. It was his and his own, the personal, intimate act of savouring reality without any limits, eating it whole with an endless hunger and never stopping, not even for a second.
That is, until he had a fleeting opportunity to held you in his arms.
Your dress swirling in the dance as you moved reminded him of a flutter of butterfly’s wings, the colours playing with lights and shadows in the ballroom where only you seemed to be present. People around you were dull and boring compared to you, to your soul shining and alluring him strong enough it could wake him up from an eternal sleep. You were magnificent, mesmerizing, even in such a simple situation as talking to one of your friends and laughing at the joke you have just heard. It was a delightful melody for him and his ears, the one he suddenly longed to hear more and more, as if he didn’t knew how thirsty he was to drink the voice from your lips.
And then, the music paused, an orchestra receiving a wonderful applause before preparing for the next piece. It was the perfect time and opportunity to ask you to share this dance with him, to get to talk to you, ask for your name and feel your skin against his, but just when he was about to take the first step, there was a man by your side—the one you gave a loving kiss in the next second.
Sebastian’s heart collapsed like a dying star, shrinking inside only to blow with a burning fury which reflection soon showed in his demonic eyes for a mere second. Of course you were engaged, how could he not notice the ring on your finger before?
Slowly, he took a sip from his champagne glass, for the first time truly regretting not being able to feel the soothing relief it was giving mortals, and left the ballroom without a word, your laugh still echoing deep in his mind.
“What do you mean ‘we do not have it’“? Ciel spat through the teeth and the frown on his forehead only grew bigger as he was staring at his butler with the gaze full of utter despise. “I thought I told you to buy it last week.”
“My apologize, young master, but the blueberries you are asking for are not in our pantry. I used them to prepare the pudding few days ago, just as you ordered me to.”
“And now I order you to prepare me a blueberry cake. Sebastian, do not you see that I am currently sick and in need of literally any recompense of this awful state?”
“I hardly see how the blueberry cake will make you feel better, my lord.”
“You hardly saw me falling to the river when we were chasing that damn man, didn’t you?”
“Now, this is a false accusation,” Sebastian forced himself to keep his face unamused, even though the memory of the latest incident still managed to bring a smile upon his lips. It was not like his young lord was in any kind of danger, though, and a cup of cold water seemed to do good to his temper from time to time.
The conversation was suddenly interrupted by Mey Rin who knocked to the Ciel’s bedroom doors and after receiving an invitation explained that there was a guest waiting in the hall. Surprised by who could that be (there were not any guests sheduled for today, after all), Sebastian went downstairs only to notice you, standing in the hall alone and admiring the painting hanging on the wall. Your back was facing him, the dress you were wearing now didn’t remind him the one you had at the ball and—goodness, were those mud stains?
“My lady,” he started, drawing your attention and bringing a smile to your face. “What a surprise, I did not know you will be there today. What causes this unexpected visit?”
“I have heard that Ciel has gotten sick lately,” you explained. “So I have decided to pay him a visit and see how is he feeling.”
“This is so kind of you, my lady, but did not you take a carriage on your way there?” The butler carefully pointed at your dress and your gaze followed, resulting in you laughing at the inconvenience.
“Oh, no, I did not. It is such a pretty day, after all, it would be a shame to waste it.”
That was unexpected, those simple words making him feel attached to you even more than before, just like the stinging feeling of the ring on your finger more unbearable. You’ve chosen someone else, your heart belonged to another man and for the first time in his life, Sebastian left as if he was running out of time. Prehaps, if he met you sooner, he would be able to take his place and stay by your side. Oh, if he only knew!
“I will prepare something warm for you to drink, my lady,” he announced. “We wouldn’t want you to get sick after such a long stroll now, would we?”
With that, he left the hall and headed to the kitchen, giving Mey Rin the sign to lead you to the parlour.
It was the middle of the night when the furnace suddenly stopped working, prehaps since Bard forgot to put more wood inside, and Sebastian wandered to the basement to fix this terrible mistake before his master—and you, of course—will wake up in a cold bedrooms. It was dark, ominious even when his steps echoed in an empty hall, no candle in the hand as the demon didn’t need the light to see what was in front of him. He was like a shadow, merging into the abyss surrounding him, the silent predator whose senses were asleep in that moment. That is, until the fire burned inside the furnace once again and he could feel the familiar heat on the face.
For a mere second he considered putting the hand inside, experiencing the flames devouring his muscles and melting the skin, biting deep into the bones with such a delightful pain, the one surely much easier to endure than the napping fury resting in his dead heart. Eventually, he did no such a thing and straightened his back only to look at the fire.
He couldn’t just let you go, not when you started to mean so much to him. Imagining the future without you by his side was downright painful and it was not something he wanted to endure. Especially not since he still had the time, the possibility to change everything before it will be too late.
With a malicious smile playing on the lips, Sebastian left the basement, now his steps completely inaudible as he seemed to flow through the darkness.
Sebastian spotted you in the gardens next morning, the fresh dew still at the tips of your shoes as you were sitting in an arbour and taking small sips from the porcelain cup full of tea. It was a delightful image, your frame surrounded by blooming flowers, the sun caressing your skin and the shadows that played on your dress—picturesque like one of the Monet’s artworks.
Placing the polished platter on the cupboard, Sebastian decided to take an insignificant break and join you on this sunny morning for a little conversation. He has spent quite a long time on considering how to approach you properly, but in the end decided to rely on his skills and charms instead of any planning. Where would the fun be then, after all?
“Wonderful day, isn’t it?” Turning your head, you noticed Sebastian heading toward you, the platter with chopped apples in his gloved hand.
Placing the snack on the nearby table, he stood there for a while, waiting patiently for the moment when you will invite him to sit next to you. Which you did, quite quickly.
“Indeed, it is. It must have been raining in the night, the pavement is all damp,” you told him the obvious but he didn’t care.
Nothing in the whole world could distract him from looking at you, at your face; those cheeks, eyelashes and the tip of the nose, the curve of your ear and the shape of your lips, the little vein pulsing with warm blood on your neck.
What a splendid day it was, truly.
“Forgive me my brashness, my lady, but will you allow me to ask you a single question?” Sebastian muttered softly, causing you to look at him, a wondering expression painting on your features.
“Of course,” you answered. “Whatever you please.”
Smile creeped on his lips.
“There is a secret I would like to share with you, my lady.”
“A secret?” Now, that was interesting. What kind of secret could such a perfect butler have? “Why would you want to share it with me in particular?”
“Because you are the only person who knows how to listen properly. You hear and you understand. Your fiancé is such a lucky man to have you by his side…”
“Why, thank you.” His compliments were pleasant to hear and the spark of serene in his eyes when he was looking at you being enough of a proof that he meant no harm.
“It only makes me wonder…” he acted as if he was deeply thinking for a while. “Why would you want to spend the rest of your life with such a filthy liar.”
Sebastian’s statement surprised you, shocked even and immediately you considered simply walking away. Still, he managed to stop you with nothing but continuing his speech, the words rolling off his tongue like a venom.
“The man you love so deeply is nothing but a liar, my lady, blinding you with sweet promises of the bright future while in the end, he will bring you nothing but shame. He will murder your heart, step on your beauty and strangle the joy out of your cold, dead body.”
The demon was now close to you, catching you in the trap and whispering to your ear, while inhaling the scent of your skin.
“He is a thief, my love, the most brutal of the kind. What do you think, how many years will it take until he will start growing hungry again? Until feasting upon you won’t be enough for him and so he will have to find another victim, another young, breathtaking woman to woo. Doesn’t it sound familiar to you? Is it not what have exactly happened to the friend of yours? The cruel man leaving her behind when something new, fascinating appeared in the grasp of his hand?”
The tea in your hands was cold now and it tasted bitter all of a sudden. The birds were still chirping above your head, roses around you smelling the same, soft blows of wind caressing your neck as if they were trying to soothe your pain. But no matter how much they tried, they couldn’t get rid off the dark clouds enwrapping your mind.
“Where will you turn then, when your youth will pass?” Sebastian’s lips almost kissed the shell of your ear. “Where will you go when you won’t be able to wander through the meadows anymore? What will you do then, all alone in this dirty world, only waiting to swallow you whole? Answer me, my love. Wouldn’t you prefer to not be afraid? To not let the worry consume you, day after day scared of him losing his interest?” His voice went low. “They all do, in the end.”
The unspoken question was resting at the back of your tongue for a long time and only then you found the strength to say it out loud, the demon’s warm breath tickling your sensitive skin as he bent to your neck like a starving vampire.
“Who are you…?”
Sebastian chuckled.
“Me? Oh, my love, this is exactly the secret I wanted to share with you today.” He put a finger under your chin and made you face him, now his words ghosting over your lips and deep, dark eyes looking at you with an utmost fascination. “But now, forget about him. Forget about the bleeding wounds he will bring upon your delicate skin. Forget about the murder he will commit on you. Forget about the ring and promises. Forget about everything. But me.”

3rd Advent Before Christmas
Check out Part 1 and Part 2. Have a nice Sunday!
~ About 10 years earlier ~
“One week until Christmas and I still don’t have any presents for my parents when I visit them over New Year”, yasu groaned and swung his hand holding onto the shopping bag.
It was an expensive looking shopping bag. All in black with silver print on it. You only got those kinds of shopping bags at really exclusive shops.
“I know, family is always the worst”, Hyde agreed.
He wore a black winter coat buttoned up to right beneath his chin. On his head, he wore the most ridiculous cap yasu had ever seen. It had a reindeer on it. Blond strands of hair were sticking out at the side, framing Hyde’s face. His cheeks were red from the cold.
They were standing in front of a front store window for a while already, drawing conclusions of their hunt so far.
“I mean, you don’t see them that often anymore, so you have no idea what they would like and still it has to express your love somehow.”
Frustrated Hyde shook his head and yasu nudged him in the side with his elbow.
He still couldn’t believe he was allowed to do that.
“You found something already at least. I will end up just bringing my new album and a bottle of sake.”
“It’s nice to give them something self-made. I’m sure they are proud of you and your music”, Hyde said with a smile.
Yasu sighed.
“Yes, but it always has this air about it like – I brought you this, because I got it for free.”
Hyde laughed.
His teeth were as even as his face. Yasu still couldn’t believe that someone could have such well-proportioned features. For a long time, he had believed it was due to camera angles and editing. But even up close, Hyde was still incredibly beautiful. The only lines on his face were the ones around his eyes. They weren’t caused by age, but by laughter. They didn’t make him look less attractive, only kinder.
“I’m sure that is not true”, he protested. “And at least we found something for the rest of the family. Even for your nephew.”
Yasu snorted.
“Yes, thank you”, he said. “I wouldn’t know what to get such a young child. I really needed advice with that one.”
Fumbling with the strand of the shopping bag, yasu felt his fingers growing numb. He was wearing gloves, but the kind that only covered the knuckles, not the entire fingers. He liked to be able to move his hands freely. Now, the cold was creeping up from his fingertips, though.
“I’m sorry for dragging you along, though”, yasu added. “I should have come up with something nicer for a date.”
“No, it’s fine”, Hyde said and smiled. “I’m also glad I didn’t have to go looking for gifts alone.”
His eyes were on the display behind the shop window. He had a calm way of looking at things, not curious, but not bored either. He looked at things with a mild interest, like he didn’t care much for them, but was willing to provide them with a fair chance to prove him wrong. He looked as if he gave the world an opportunity to be marvelled at, if only it tried hard enough. Sometimes, yasu expected streetlamps to dance and trees to start singing, just to prove worthy of Hyde’s attention. When Hyde looked at him, yasu felt like dancing and singing, too.
“You still want to go to another store?”, yasu asked.
“I’ve got everything already. But it’s a little cold, isn’t it? Maybe we could find a place to sit and have a coffee or something”, Hyde suggested.
“Yes, absolutely”, yasu agreed, slightly embarrassed by how eager he sounded.
He was glad Hyde didn’t want to part ways with him yet. Shopping together had been fun so far. Yasu had asked him out. Formally. He had made sure there was no misunderstanding about what this was. Hyde hadn’t minded. And he seemed to enjoy their date as well.
“That way?”, yasu asked and nodded into the direction that less people were heading into. The term ›less‹ was only relative, though. One week before Christmas and everywhere people were trying to get their hands on the last missing presents, find a partner for the special date night of the year, or just take a good look at all the sparkling lights and glittery store displays before they were gone again in January.
Hyde followed as yasu made his way through the crowd. It was easy to lose sight of each other like that. Yasu thought it would be easier if they just held hands. But then that seemed too bold, still. Him, holding hands with Hyde. Almost absurd.
Just to get away from the crowded main street, yasu stepped out into the next sideroad. It was narrow, but still enough people with shopping bags were strolling around. It was possible to talk again, too, without causing a riot immediately. If you blocked people’s way on the main street for too long, the impatient shoppers would surely kill you; smashing in your head with their newly bought Christmas presents.
“It’s hell out there”, yasu detested.
“Yes”, Hyde agreed and inhaled deeply. “Crowds give me anxiety. Unless they are shouting my name.”
Yasu snorted.
“If someone recognized you, they probably would. But not in the good way.”
Hyde smirked, but nodded.
“I think we should stay away from the busy streets. Let’s try here.”
He nodded down the alley they had just entered.
This time, they were walking slower. Also, they were walking side by side.
Yasu looked down onto his boots. He couldn’t help smiling.
They reached another intersection. The road was so narrow, there wasn’t even a crossing here. You just had to look out for the cars.
Hyde bent forward, looking down the streets to their right and left. Yasu thought it looked funny how far he was bending over. He was making a show out of watching, but didn’t even seem to notice. He obviously wasn’t paying attention if yasu or anyone else was even looking at him. His act seemed to exist solemnly for the street itself. His whole body-language was telling the buildings on each side: “Caution! I’m watching you, better try hard.”
“Can you read what’s written on that sign there?”, Hyde asked and pointed to their left.
Yasu squinted his eyes.
The letters on the sign were hand-written and not easy to decipher from a distance.
“I think it states that every cup of mulled wine comes with free cookies”, he said pretty dumb-founded.
“Free cookies?”, Hyde repeated. “I thought that’s what I read, but it sounded too good to be true.”
Yasu laughed. He wasn’t such a fan of cookies, but then again – how much could you really dislike cookies? And Hyde’s excitement took the decision away from him. Because Hyde was smiling widely now, and when Hyde smiled like that, there wasn’t anything that yasu wouldn’t do for him.
“Alright, let’s check if they are open”, he suggested.
Hyde was already walking. He had now put his hands into the pockets of his jacket. Other than yasu, he wasn’t wearing gloves at all. It was surprising he had kept them out in the open for so long, in spite of the cold. Maybe, he had thought of holding yasu’s hand, too.
The shop was open.
Hyde pushed open the door and a bell rung out.
The place was tiny and very warm. After entering from outside, it felt like being smothered by a hot pillow. It smelled very sweet, of sugar and cinnamon and spices. Of course, it smelled like that. It was a bakery.
Behind glass different sorts of cakes, cookies and sweet bread were displayed. The counter already filled half of the room.
On the only windowsill a few pillows were laid out, but two young women were already sitting there. Each of them was holding a mug and they were chatting quietly.
There were no other seats around, just one bar table with a single tealight on top of it.
Yasu wondered if the women were going to leave soon.
Hyde already walked towards the counter. A middle-aged man in an apron was standing behind it. His cheeks were slightly red. It was very warm inside after all.
“Is the offer for the mulled wine and the cookies still up?”, Hyde asked.
“Sure”, the man nodded. “Two mugs?”
Hyde threw a questioning look at yasu, who nodded in agreement. He had never tried mulled wine before.
“I’ll bring it over”, the man said and yasu walked over to the bar table, putting his shopping bags on the floor.
He took off his gloves first. Then he unzipped the jacket. It was actually too hot to keep it on at all, but there was no place to put it, either.
Hyde followed him and took off his reindeer cap. When it came off, it left his hair tousled. It looked charming somehow.
“So hot inside”, yasu said.
Hyde nodded and looked around.
“There is a coat hanger right next to the door”, he stated and took off his jacket.
Surprised, yasu blinked at the space that Hyde had indicated. Indeed, there it was. A coat hanger. He hadn’t noticed it before, although he had looked for it. For a moment, he wondered if Hyde’s gaze alone had brought it into being.
“Right”, he said and took off his jacket as well.
Hyde extended his hand and yasu handed it over. He watched Hyde turn around and put up their jackets. He was smiling again. Watching Hyde, he couldn’t help smiling all the time.
He had fantasized about this for a long time – ever since the first after show party at which someone had casually mentioned that Hyde, the beautiful vocalist of his beloved band L’arc-en-ciel, liked men as much as yasu did. Even after getting to know him in person, it had taken yasu a long time to gather his courage, though. Sometimes it had been yasu dating other people, sometimes it had been Hyde. As if a curse was keeping them apart, they had never been free to go out at the same time, and so they had been friends long before anything else even became an option. Yasu was glad for their friendship, however. He felt comfortable around Hyde by now. But dating him still felt surreal, like something that his fifteen-year-old self would have daydreamt about rather than something that would happen in real life.
“Here you go.”
The shop owner had left his place behind the counter and now placed two mugs on the table. They were white and looked like they hadn’t been chosen for aesthetic reasons, but only in terms of how practical they were. Steam was rising from the reddish liquid inside. The smell of spices in the air grew even stronger.
“Thank you”, yasu mumbled and the man placed a plate on the table, too, before he left again.
On the plate there were star-shaped cookies. Not a lot of cookies, though. Only a handful, really. But then again, yasu thought, they were for free.
Hyde returned to the table, eyeing the cookies with almost scientific interest. For a moment, yasu had to imagine him with a magnifier glass.
“I never drank mulled wine before”, yasu observed and took hold of the mug.
It was hot against his hand. His fingers were still slightly numb from the cold outside and now they started to tingle, slowly warming up again.
“I hope you like it then”, Hyde said. “Actually, I’m not used to drink alcohol that early at the day.”
“I’m not used to drinking much at all”, yasu confessed.
It was true. In spite of his life as a rock musician, he had never gotten quite used to alcohol. After one glass, he usually felt so sleepy, he just wanted to go home.
“I’ll take care of you”, Hyde promised and smiled.
His smile made yasu feel warm inside. Suddenly, he became very aware of the fact that they were – indeed and for real – on a date. Shopping for presents, he hadn’t felt it so strongly. It was something that was just nicer to do in company and that they could have done as friends, too. But standing here together over a drink, a single candle flickering between them, the romantic aspect of their meeting became apparent.
A little nervously yasu raised his mug and looked at Hyde.
“To Christmas?”, he suggested.
“To our date”, Hyde corrected and knocked his mug softly against yasu’s.
He was holding his gaze while he did.
Yasu hoped that he didn’t blush, but he wasn’t sure. Looking at Hyde directly still made him feel giddy and somewhat helpless. He was too beautiful, his features too even. He belonged on posters and CD covers – not on a date with yasu. To him, Hyde didn’t feel quite human. He belonged into a category with spirits and gods; otherworldly somehow and clearly out of his reach. Just thinking of him in a way that was too humane seemed blasphemous, kissing him a sacrilege.
Thankful to be able to hide his face behind the mug, yasu took a careful sip.
The mulled wine wasn’t as hot as he had feared, just nicely warm, heating up his insides. The flavour was richer and fruitier than he had expected, too.
“It tastes really good!”, he exclaimed surprised and took another, bigger gulp.
His throat especially was feeling nicely warm now.
Hyde chuckled very softly. He seemed amused not by what yasu had said, but rather touched by his sudden excitement.
Yasu put the mug back onto the table, keeping his hand wrapped around it for the warmth.
Hyde picked up one of the cookies, lifting it closer to his face. His expression was curious.
“I don’t think they’re poisoned”, yasu joked. “But I could do a food tasting first, if you want to.”
“I think I’ll take the risk”, Hyde said.
He had a calm way of speaking, that always sounded slightly amused, but not like he was outright joking. For yasu, it was sometimes hard to tell how serious he was about his own words.
He put the cookie into his mouth as a whole. It was a pretty small cookie. Yasu could not help staring at his lips as he did. He kept watching as Hyde chewed very slowly. The movement brought out his jawline. His lips looked kissable.
Yasu lowered his gaze onto his own hands and therefore ended up staring at the mug. He took another gulp.
“Don’t drink too fast”, Hyde reminded him. “It might not taste so strong, but it hits you anyway, because of the warmth.”
“Mmh.” Yasu hummed in agreement. Then he took up a cookie himself. The upper side was decorated with sugar-coat. It looked as if the star was sparkling.
He put it into his mouth. It tasted sugary and a little dry. He preferred the drink. To moisturize his mouth again, he took another sip. It definitely tasted better.
“Do you have all your presents completed now?”, yasu asked.
He didn’t want to talk about work or music or their careers with Hyde at the moment. Christmas seemed to have woven a cocoon around them, that felt like he already had holidays, although the new album wasn’t anywhere near finished yet. Inside this cocoon, there were only Christmas lights allowed and sparkling stars with the taste of sugar and Hyde’s smile. It was a safe, cosy place.
“I’m still missing a Christmas present for you”, Hyde said.
Again, his voice was so calm that yasu wasn’t sure if he was serious or just teasing him.
“Don’t be stupid”, yasu mumbled. “You don’t have to get me anything.”
He suddenly felt embarrassed, because so far, he hadn’t even considered getting something for Hyde.
“So, you don’t want to spend Christmas with me?”, Hyde asked. “It’s only a week away.”
“Ehm.” Yasu licked his lips and stared into his mug. He wondered when the liquid had retreated that far towards the bottom of it.
Christmas meant date night for lovers. And technically, Hyde and him were … dating now? The assumption they would go out on Christmas, too, made sense. But yasu had honestly not thought that far yet. All of his thoughts had focused on getting a date with Hyde so far – and today they had circled around surviving this date without a heart-attack. And whenever his thoughts became very, very brave (or shameless, rather) he thought of how kissable Hyde’s lips looked. But he hadn’t dared to imagine a future for them yet. Not even a future that only lay one week ahead.
“I guess”, he stuttered. “Christmas, you and me. Sure.”
Hyde laughed quietly. He took a few large gulps from his mug as well.
The way he swallowed suddenly seemed very funny to yasu. He couldn’t explain why it was funny exactly. It was, just because he felt so warm and happy right now. Especially warm – mostly on the inside.
He threw a suspicious glance at his own mug.
“You are so red in the face”, Hyde observed and giggled a little.
The giggle made yasu even more suspicious.
“Are you feeling hot?”, Hyde asked and without warning reached out across the table, putting his fingers gently against yasu’s cheek.
His fingers felt surprisingly cool, which made yasu realize that indeed his own face felt burning hot. He wished Hyde’s hand would stay on his cheek forever.
Hyde pulled back his hand and leaned in. He had his lower arms on the table plate and put his weight on them in a way that the table was clearly not designed for. Somehow, that also seemed funny to yasu.
“I think”, Hyde whispered in a conspiratorial tone of voice. “I didn’t follow my own advice very well. I definitely drank too fast.”
Yasu picked up his mug and emptied it as well.
“It’s okay”, he said. “I also didn’t follow your advice.”
It made Hyde laugh and the sound of his laughter made yasu giggle in return.
“Want to leave?”, Hyde asked.
“Yeah”, yasu confirmed.
He didn’t care where they would go after this. He just knew that suddenly, the bakery felt too small and it was too hot inside and there clearly wasn’t enough oxygen for that many people here.
“I’m going to pay”, Hyde announced and walked over to the counter.
“I can pay”, yasu protested.
Hyde turned around, grinning at him widely. His face lit up, whenever he smiled like that.
“Next time”, he said.
Yasu couldn’t help smiling in return. Next time. He liked the sound of that. There would be a next time. Another date with Hyde. On Christmas. And many other days, hopefully.
He put his gloves back on and collected their shopping bags from the floor. Hyde’s reindeer cap was still lying on the table surface. Yasu took it, too, and went over to the coat hanger to get his jacket. Hyde joined him there. He struggled with his zipper. Yasu considered offering his help, but after a short consultation with his brain, his legs, and both of his hands, he didn’t feel qualified to offer his help any more. Hyde finally managed on his own.
They stepped outside and the bell overhead rang out again.
The cold air bit into yasu’s face almost painfully. He was glad to inhale fresh air again, though. When he breathed out, large white clouds formed in front of him.
“Fuck, it’s so cold”, Hyde swore next to him.
Yasu turned his head. It was unusual for Hyde to swear in a normal conversation. It wasn’t like he always used proper language, but he seldom used swear-words just to swear.
“I forgot how cold it is”, Hyde added with a sigh.
Yasu looked down on himself and realized he was still holding on to Hyde’s cap. Of course, he was cold without it.
“Here”, he said and took a step towards Hyde.
The thought of just handing the cap over to Hyde hadn’t occurred to him at all in that moment. Later yasu wondered about that. It would have been the natural thing to do with anyone else. But with Hyde it wasn’t. With Hyde it had felt natural to reach out and pull the cap down over his ears.
The shopping bag dangling from yasu’s wrist was bouncing against Hyde’s shoulder. And actually, it wasn’t easy to put a cap on someone else when you felt slightly tipsy.
But still, it felt natural and it felt right. The reindeer with the red nose was smiling at yasu.
He kept his hands up, still cupping Hyde’s face gently, although the cap was already back in place.
They were looking at each other.
Hyde’s lips were slightly parted and tiny white breath clouds were drifting from them. He seemed to be breathing very flatly.
So far, yasu had acted out of instinct. He hadn’t used the cap as an excuse to get closer to Hyde, although he now realized it would have been the perfect excuse. He hadn’t thought about his movements at all.
But suddenly, they were standing so close and Hyde’s eyes were so dark and his lips no longer the lips of a god, but the lips of a human – a human that could laugh and smile and kiss with them.
Yasu leaned in a tiny bit. His heart was beating fast. His palms felt sweaty beneath the gloves.
He could do it. It would be so easy right now.
The cold started to creep back into his fingers, but his chest still felt very warm. He didn’t know if it was due to the jacket or due to the mulled wine or due to the way Hyde’s eyes rested on him.
Today had been so fun. They both wanted it. If he kissed him now, it would be sealed. It wouldn’t be the meeting of two friends anymore. It would be a real date. The kind of real date, that got followed up by other real dates and where they fell in love head over heels and where they moved in together eventually, and where they grew old together and where yasu would sing and dance with the gods whenever Hyde smiled at him for the rest of his life.
He pulled back, letting go of Hyde’s face.
He had held on to him for too long already without moving. His thoughts had kept chasing each other and suddenly, the pressure had been overwhelming. The future had been all around him and it had closed in on yasu until he wasn’t able to move any longer.
If he wanted those things, really wanted all of them, he wasn’t allowed to butcher it. He shouldn’t rush things, because Hyde was beautiful and yasu just crazy about him ever since he had seen him in a video for the first time.
How would he even be sure if that was what Hyde wanted? It had been an assumption, nothing more. Of course, yasu was sure that he wanted to kiss Hyde, because for years – even before meeting him in person – he had thought about it. But it wasn’t like that the other way around. If yasu really wanted to dance with the gods, he had to prove his own worth first. Otherwise, Hyde would be taken aback and he would lose their future before it had even begun. It was better to take it slow.
“Ehm.” Yasu cleared his throat.
He wasn’t sure if Hyde had noticed that yasu had been about to kiss him at all. His eyes were still following him, but they had gone back to their normal gaze of mild curiosity. Nothing on his face betrayed if he was disappointed or relieved or confused or if he felt anything in particular at all.
If he had wanted to, he could have leaned in as well. He could have kissed yasu, too, but he hadn’t.
“Should I walk you back to your place or something?”, yasu suggested.
“Alright, thank you”, Hyde said quietly.
He gave yasu a small smile. Yasu felt relieved. Hyde was still smiling. He had done nothing wrong. Their date was still going well and after this date, there would be other dates to come. Many more dates on which he could kiss Hyde, and on which the timing would be better. When they felt surer about what this between them really was, and when they weren’t tipsy, and when the atmosphere was a little more romantic maybe, and when no one would be able to see them on the street.
In the end, it was right they hadn’t kissed each other, yasu decided. The time hadn’t been right. There would be other opportunities. Better opportunities.
“So, Christmas”, he said, as they picked up walking. “I’m a little busy this week with the album. But on Christmas, we’ll meet for sure. I’ll give you a call.”
Christmas would be a perfect opportunity, for example. The perfect, romantic date. Just the two of them. And on Christmas, yasu would surely not be scared again.
A small part of him wished he had kissed Hyde anyway. That he would know how his lips tasted now, or know that he would be allowed to kiss him again.
“Christmas”, Hyde confirmed. “I’m looking forward to it.”
Yasu felt hopeful enough.
There was nothing to regret. There would be Christmas. There would be a lot more dates to come. They still had all the time in the world to get it right.

2018 Megaman Valentine’s Day Contest Results Thread!
Thank you all for your patience this year! I know this is a little later after the holiday than I would like, but one day is simply not enough to contain all this love! Once again, it’s always wonderful to have an assortment of both familiar faces participating, as well as many newcomers.
As always, this will be a rather massive thread, so bear with me. Most of it will be hidden after the break, so please do take a peek at all these wonderful entries!
Due to the size and sheer quantity of comic entries, there are plenty of images to view. For that reason, I’m sticking to thumbnails for now. Please click to view the entry in it’s full glory!
Also, my thanks to @jaybird-c for the help with judging this year. I’ll have some of his commentary with my own below.
The three raffle prize winners will be noted by their alias, as well.
For your reminder, there were two categories, broken down into Humor and Talent. There were 6 total Humor entries, and 14 Talent entries. So, to start off, we’ll begin with the category with the least entrants, and to fit with my tie-in promo art.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
*EDIT* OK, now I think everything is good. So long thumbnails, to keep this shorter.
Once again, for an easy link to all the images in a single gallery, please go here: https://imgbox.com/g/uAbXkTDaot
Otherwise, I’ve tested it again on both mobile and desktop, and everything should link to a full image. It still does on my end.
*/EDIT*
For Humor, this year’s theme was “Beauty and the Beastman.EXE.” The goal was to illustrate a mismatched Megaman couple, one in a monsterous, beastly form, with another more beautiful character that falls for them. Any allusions to the popular tale of Beauty and the Beast were welcome, but not a requirement.
Here are your top 3, followed by the remaining entries in alphabetical order by alias:
1.) @prar-draws: (*Prar wins $100 USD or an item(s) up to that value.)
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote: Prar's comic has the absolute best execution of a joke, increasing the tension until the last panel when it masterfully throws the audience for a loop. Prar's style complements the story very well by making each individual moment easy to digest, and the last panel also just happens to be really funny to look at on its own. Just thinking about it makes me crack up.
Miyabi wrote: While this piece really contains more tension and drama until the final panel, I agree that the build is what helps bring the big laugh at the end. You can also see the temperature rising for Ciel, as her cheeks get redder and redder as the panels move along. I felt it tied in to the Beauty and the Beast storyline nicely, and your chosen characters fit well to pull off the connection. Very cute, and well constructed comic!
2.) @amiable-apparition: (*a-a wins $50 USD or an item(s) up to that value.)

Jaybird wrote: I don't remember this scene from the Star Force anime. Must've been cut from the final release. Clever use of trickery regarding who the real "monster" is; poor Damian appears to have misjudged the situation something fierce. Good idea and use of twist.
Miyabi wrote: I guess Sam was the one who was ‘Hungry Like the Wolf,’ after all! I too enjoyed the spin at the end, it was a funny deviation on how her character was portrayed in the anime. Subject choice was strong here too, connecting the theme with a couple characters who fit well with the concept. Nice work with the variety of panels you created to set things up.
3.) @frankenchio: (*frankenchio wins $25 USD or an item(s) up to that value.)
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote:  Ah, the Princess and the Toad Man. Frankenchio's piece is a clever little reference to the classic fable, but most of the humor is in how Roll apparently didn't know what kind of prince was on the other end of that frog. Clever, pretty to look at.
Miyabi wrote: I like that you thought outside of the box with the theme, and used a totally different classic tale, but still connected it very well. Ice Man sure lucked out this time, after whoever cursed him into Toad form. While a simple few panels, your style is just adorable. Those jewels on the crown look really detailed!
Close, but not quite ~
Dark Dullahan:
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote: Dark Dullahan has the idea of recreating an actual Disney scene with Iris and (Zoanoroid?) Zero, which is very sweet. It took me a few repeat looks to digest what was going on here but it's amusing to see Zero protecting his wounds from the fierce and terrible Iris. Because she's obviously the worst thing that can happen to him. Cute, amusing scene.
Miyabi wrote: Sorry, I don’t know why this upload defaults to a side view, when I don’t even have it at that orientation. It automatically glitches that way, no matter how I upload it. :/ Anyhow, a clever spin using the EXE versions of Zero and Iris, living in a world where only reploids...no wait, they don’t exist here. This Beastly ZoanoZero will open up to her over time, I’m sure. But first, he needs to heal up. Again, good use of parodying the scene.
@drewblossom:
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote:  The sheer concept of Rock-Belle made me wonder if they were going to throw in an FMA reference somewhere, but Drew's picture doesn't need it. They make good use of the Disney-classic-gone-wrong idea -- Oil Man and Time Man as Lumiere and Cogsworth are nearly inspired --though I think they didn't quite go far enough and should have rounded out the piece with a more feminine version of the suit; Rock-Belle changing into Mega *Man* raises questions about whether the main character's an actual girl or just a cross-dresser, which distracts from the joke.
Miyabi wrote: I guess Rock is both the beauty and the beast, for totally destroying those poor innocent talking inanimate object bots! While I had a good laugh at the quick-change blast, the character reactions, and the overall parody of the classic scene, sadly I did feel it just didn’t quite have the couple contrast/Valentine’s theme as well as others.
@erekisaiko: (*RAFFLE PRIZE WINNER* Captain N Height Chart)

Jaybird wrote:  I feel like I'm missing a reference to something else. As amusing as the concept of JunkMan's and Meddy's unsanitary hospital sounds, the picture doesn't present us with enough information to make sense of what actually happened (i.e. why was JunkMan wearing a cardboard Falzer costume in the first place?), and [=ClockMan's=] joke lacks the punch it ought to have because the punchline has no set up. (Unless of course this is all just an incredibly obvious reference to something I've never been exposed to that would fill in all the missing context). Amusing concept in punchline, it's fun to think about how this situation could've arisen.
Miyabi wrote: Meddy’s not oblivious, she just has a big heart ready to heal any messy, junky slob! Cute and different idea having more of a ‘fake’ beast, although I think Junk still would count as a beastly character on his own, in some respects. Very well-drawn, and appreciate all the detail you put into your internet background.
For the talent category, the theme was “If You Like It, You Should Put a Ring Boomerang On It.” This category was all about proposal scenes. And I am shocked there was not a single Jewel Man! XD

Jaybird wrote:  Jeez. Unrelenting Style. Your children's book painting is incredible as ever; your figures, your colors, your atmosphere, just about everything.  I ran into a problem with your composition, though; the stark black page divider clashes with the predominantly horizontal-mirror structure and makes it hard to wrap your head around the story as its meant to be told. It was less of a problem once I trained myself to ignore it, and you use the divider very effectively in the second-to-last section, but it still made it harder to enjoy the work. Masterful technique, colors, perspective, expression.
Miyabi wrote: With your subjects, I felt this composition was a very clever way to tell the story, and kinda mirror their separate, but similar tales side-by side. As mentioned, you have such a fitting children’s storybook style, from colors to shapes, that shines once again! It’s a cute tale for such evil characters!
2.) @peach35: (*peach wins $50 USD or an item(s) up to that value.)

Jaybird wrote:  Peach deserves a lot of credit for her mastery of figure-drawing and perspective. That's something a lot of people struggle with, and accomplishment in these matters should be recognized. Another good choice of simple background to highlight the main moment, and awesome use of colors and lighting to suggest 3D -- I'm far more fascinated by Gate's nose than I should be. Incredible faces, hands, colors, and general shading.
Miyabi wrote: The sense of confused shock on Alia’s face is a different reaction that most, as it’s apparent Gate is slipping that ring on in total surprise. Clean lines and soft lighting helped this piece stand out.

Jaybird wrote: Tianura's style is difficult to read; the line quality can be inconsistent from panel to panel, some attempts to convey 3D positioning could use polish, and the panels never stray very far from simple torso and head shots. That said, the expressions are exceptionally clear (again, look to the eyes) and convey lots of emotion, and the page-by-page composition is very good. Very expressive faces, judicious use of colors for effect.
Miyabi wrote: I thought this was a creative parallel for life-long partners in using Netto and Enzan. You did a nice job keeping Netto’s goofy charm intact, with quite a few humorous lines. The ending was totally fitting for him, older or not. XD While I’m sure you would have liked to color the whole thing, I liked the differing use of screentone shading. And the watercolor look of the color pieces did give it some storybook charm as well.
Close, but not quite ~
@borockman:

Jaybird wrote:  It's such a shame this isn't a humor category, because this deserves major points for funny (the Nana-Sigma romance anime that the fandom doesn't want, but nonetheless deserves). The linework itself is pretty good. Expressive, good use of background for mood. Also, Sigma, the ring goes on the ring finger.
Miyabi wrote: It’s a dream. It’s always a dream! Siggy puts the ring on her pinky because Nana’s his ‘lil pinky-poo... ;p With the tears running down her face, I really did like the emotional feel of the moment.
@digitallyfanged:

Jaybird wrote: In terms of sheer atmosphere, this is one of the best pieces. It looks like a still from some fairy tale picture-book. The forest scenery, the background, the flower-swing, the misting breath, the quality of the outfits and the details on the dress and sword all make this exquisite. Unfortunately the characters aren't quite as expressive as they ought to be -- this is very clearly a fairy-tale love scene of some kind, but what kind? Laika is clearly being emotional towards the princess, but what is he saying? "Who are you"? "You're beautiful"? "I love you"? "Be mine forever"? It's gorgeous, but it's a little too vague to tell whether it's on topic or not.
Miyabi wrote: Gorgeous scene that felt a bit like another Disney-ish tale, moreso of the Frozen variety. They may just be easy-to-use Clip Studio effects, but I really thought it was quite creative how you pulled off the swing design. The watercolor forest background is beautiful, as is Pride’s snow princess outfit. Pretty, pretty picture!
@drewblossom:
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote: I'm glad I saw Drew's title, because it took me a minute to figure out exactly what was going on -- for a moment I thought Geminiman was trying to propose to himself with that (fittingly) gaudy diamond. The linework is pretty good, and I like the lighting effects on Gemini's crystals and the translucence of his chest plate. I'll give them points for an ambitious concept, but the best mirror art looks at a scene from two different directions, and Gemini's reflection is simply a reverse of the main view. Good colors and lighting, elegantly simple background that does a good job of highlighting the main action.
Miyabi wrote: No better way to practice a proposal than to recite it in front of your self. Of course, if he is proposing to his clone, then I think with his nonchalant actions, he’s got this down already. XD Clever, and unique!
@hyperbole1729:
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote: This piece is another mix. It has some very nice things -- the colors are spot on, the composition is very nice (you take cues from the 18th century Romantic movement by having the whole world revolve around the subject), you clearly pay attention to character details, and your field of flowers is great.
Miyabi wrote: Another set of net-battling partners who seem like a great choice for being together forever. The background is a fitting place for Sal to do it, because I don’t quite see Miyu being the one to speak up and propose. That might be more of a frightening proposition. LOL Cute, traditional scene.
@iris-sempi:
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote: Iris-sempi's got style. The colors are interesting, the subject is clear, the linework pops out because it's -also- part of the colors, the cartoony elements fit in very nicely, and the presentation as a literature/manga cover is well-done. The technique is some of the best I've seen. That said, I have to ask, if you were going to go through all the trouble of creating such a cool cover, I think it's only fair to point out the title is blocked by the artwork, which defeats the purpose, especially on something's Volume 1.
Miyabi wrote: Just to clarify for everyone, the Japanese characters for this piece say "Let's Get Married" and "Sea Salt Honey." I thought it was a really clever mag cover format, where the characters really pop out against the pink background. With the waves, it really does feel like Splashy leapt out of the ocean to smack some salty sugar on Honey/Vesper Woman. Her vibrating antennae give some nice movement and comedic effect, too. Love it, but felt it just didn’t quite have the proposal feel as strongly as others.
@jb-artist: (*RAFFLE PRIZE WINNER* - Megaman 8 cel)
Tumblr media
Jaybird wrote: JB's picture is very cute, and we don't have much actual oekaki here, so props. While you deserve even more props for how direct you are to get to the point, it's difficult to judge how we're supposed to interpret this -- is Alouette precociously misunderstanding the nature of a marriage proposal or is it an actual proposal to her older sister figure? The perspective rocks, the colors and lighting are good, and there are lots of little details that portray lots of love for the Zero series.
Miyabi wrote: Zero’s such the silent, brooding type, that he sends Alouette to do the proposal for him. I’m just not sure if that will help or hurt his rank in this stage! XD It is honestly really cute, especially when you see her doodles on the resistance base’s wall. I think that makes the piece more than anything, and was a clever callback to the game. I like how you set up the scene with the background, and those are some really nice mountains back there, too.
@lightlabs:

Jaybird wrote: Now this is pretty. Great composition to direct us through the piece (-nice touch- on giving the ring some bling) and rocking use of paint swatches for style. The art does a great job of directing us into the center, and the warm colors in the center do a lot to convey mood. Zero, you smug jerk, stop showing the rest of us poor schlubs up.
Miyabi wrote: Yes, this is happening. There is a reason for me to go on. What...what am I using this line foooorr? The warm colors and sparkles give it a unique glow, for what seems to be a night scene. The brush strokes give it a neat paint brush look, for your coloring, too. Nice work conveying their emotions with their expressions as well.
@pandapanic0:

Jaybird wrote: In terms of actual skill, the coloring is good and clear, the piece is composed well, the lighting effects are fairly elegant. If it were the actual humor category, the Ring Man's appropriately outlandish bid and Mega Man's exceptionally feminine reaction would gain the piece lots of laugh-out-loud points.
Miyabi wrote: Thank you for taking the title of this category literally and going for the humorous visual of a giant ring Ring Boomerang! Even if he says no, once he tries to get rid of that ring, it’ll just come right back. XD Rock’s blushing expression is cute. Nice crisp coloring and bold lines.

Jaybird wrote: On a panel-by-panel basis, the art is very good: crisp lines; good color and lighting; good technique with hands and faces; great use of background and expression to convey mood -- you got more mileage out of your backgrounds than probably anyone else here.
Miyabi wrote: Another nice job of mixing humor into your piece, while still keeping it a tender, sweet moment. Nice way of showing that things don’t always go as planned for a proposal, but sometimes it’s the thought and effort that counts. As always, your lines, colors and penmanship are smooth and flawless.

Jaybird wrote:  Aww. If I've got this right, it looks like X is so nervous about giving Alia a valentine that he doesn't realize Berkana is giving Alia encouragement as well. I think. I have to wonder what Marty is doing here -- research tells me she has a crush on X, which seems like it would get in the way, and if that's the case, this impending trainwreck will be something worth watching. That said, the piece is still in its rough stages, especially your setting and perspective; I can't really tell where the characters are (outside at a park?), and Alia's hip is in front of X's arm.
Miyabi wrote: Alia has her support group, but I don’t know if she’s going to be able to pop the question to X with a crowd around her, either. XD Cute expressions, showing her nerves, while X is probably not quite expecting what’s hiding behind her back. I kinda wish we would get that visual of what she’s hiding as a cutaway, much like how you gave X a thought bubble for what’s going on in his head.

Jaybird wrote:  Good job! I'd like to compliment you on how versatile your figures are and how you use that to make them very expressive; your use of perspective and individual panel compositions are both very versatile. While there isn't any color, the nighttime scenes do a good job with the lighting. Your style is pleasantly simple, but sometimes the panels seem to be oversimplified; more developed backgrounds would be welcome in several places.
Miyabi wrote: Totally different subject, but Zero, none of us understand taxes, either. I like how you illustrated the struggle of a reploid trying to understand human logic and traditions, and yet in the end, it still being something Zero didn’t truly need to grasp in that logical sense. While I know you wish you would have had more time to continue perfecting these panels, I agree that the night scenes stand out and give a good contrast between Zero’s computer research scenes.
Thanks once again to all who participated! I will be contacting the winners soon enough. Work will probably keep me from replying to everyone immediately, but if you don’t hear from me today, I will send a message about prizes hopefully within the next day.
For those awaiting the secret contest results...sorry, for another slight delay. Between finishing my promo art for this thread, and typing this, it took up too much time and I’ve gotta head to work. I will have those posted overnight, into Sunday morning, as it won’t be quite as intensive to write up. My apologies, but I hope you can all hang on for another 20 hours or less. ^^;

A letter to brother (Violet Evergarden x Black Butler fan fiction)
I’ve fallen in love with Violet Evergarden and I already love Black Butler so sshhh lemme cross over the two in a fan fic
rating: T I guess?? characters: real!Ciel and Violet Evergarden franchise: Violet Evergarden and Black Butler
Violet had approached the steps of the music hall in the city of London, met with men in robes and a current music show going on for the center stage of the hall. Her blue eyes would wander around the hall to see all the stars and strange spheres as decorations until a strange man with stars in his hair approached her. “Are you who I am to write a letter for?” He seemed well enough to write a letter for until he shook his head and extended his hand out to lead her.
“Of course not, our special sky is the one who needs you at the time.” Take her, Violet was followed into the back of the hall where she saw all sorts of strange sightings. There was men asleep in chairs with tubes in their arms and an open room showed a young blond girl sobbing into her bed. What kind of place was this? No, Violet was a doll and she was not to question where she was brought to for a request. “Here he is, our special sky.” He lifted open a navy curtain to open a door. In the room this door lead to was something fit for a royal young man. Was this all for a sickly man, she thought.
It was then that Violet’s thoughts ceased when she saw a child on the bed. He looked younger than herself but that hair...This boy’s hair looked so much like the major’s hair yet his eyes matched her own when she first recovered from the war. Yet this boy still smiled, despite the fact that he looked at least a little thing and seemed to have his hand on his chest. “This is our sky, he’s the one who has requested you. Now, I’ll leave you to it.” She was at a loss for words at the moment, this child looked so noble and proud so why hire an auto memories doll?
“Is something wrong?” His voice innocently asks which snaps Violet back to reality. She worked with children, mostly from mothers and fathers requesting letters, but never did she receive one to write from a child. This was all so strange, as if she ended up in some kind of world where everything was in madness or...No, it can’t be involved with that rumored war with Germany she heard about.
“If it is your wish,” Violet curtsies herself to the young noble child, even lowering her head. “I will meet you wherever for your request. Auto memories doll, Violet Evergarden. I must admit, I am surprised to have a child request a letter. I’ve heard of it but I’ve never experienced it myself.”
Tumblr media
The boy still smiled, moving to sit up a little better in bed only to wince at some kind of siring pain in his chest? It looked that way from how he was gripping his chest from when he moved. “Are you alright?” She asks, wondering if he was healthy enough to even focus on this letter he requested. “I’m fine, just pain...”
“Might I ask how you are hurt and seem to be unable to write according to your request form? You don’t seem like the profile of children who request letters.” Which were mostly half poor children trying to cheer up their parents, from what other dolls told her anyway. This young boy looked almost surprised that she asked, yet stayed silent for a while as Violet would get her typewriter out from her carpet bag and undo her gloves to adjust her prosthesis.
“We can play a game of this. I’ll ask you something and you can ask me something.” He seemed to like games it seems, from what Violet analyzed of him anyway. “How did you lose your arms? Born without them? Any idea who made them?”
“I lost them in a battle from my home country...” That same battle where she lost her major...Violet’s eyes looking down to the words on the keys of the typewriter. “I don’t know anything about who made them. I believe I slightly recognize a man with very odd glasses and perhaps a wheelchair while I was recovering in my hospital bed from my injuries.” The boy’s face soured at her explanation. “May I ask you a question sir?” “It’s Ciel Phantomhive, the true Earl to house Phantomhive.”
Taken aback once again, Violet’s eyes widened to hear this boy tell her that kind of news. She heard about the funtom head herself in the papers, even owning a plush dog from the toy branch of the company and Cattleya taking Violet to the premier of their new fragrance branch. “You’re...Ciel? I thought you would be at your estate in London at the moment to launch a new branch of our company.” She had never seen the Ciel mentioned in the news, so she was quick to assume there wasn’t anything complicated going on.
“That Ciel you read about isn’t really me, that’s my twin. I’m the real Ciel and yet...My brother is strangely pretending to be me, that’s actually who you’re writing the letter for.” He seemed so serious for a child Earl. It wasn’t too odd for a very young child to be in an important position of nobility, Violet did meet a princess a while ago who was a little older than Ciel.
“I’m writing to your...brother? I see. I am writing to begin the writing so please let me know what to write as it flows through you.” Violet could see the boy trying to reach for some kind of lollipop on the nightstand, which he did successfully only for his hand to shake as soon as he tried to grasp it. Now she saw why he couldn’t write, he seemed so weak but from what? “Yes. However, you are not to sign my name at the end of it. I don’t care what but please put a fake name when finishing the letter. This is meant to be anonymously to him for I’m not well enough to reach him yet.”
“Can I ask why you’re injured then? Is this recent?” Violet asks as she carefully adjusts the paper. The boy’s face darkened, turning away as if she brought up something painful. She recognized that expression in herself, she had the same look in her eyes not too long ago when anyone brought up the major’s death.
Tumblr media
“I’m not really supposed to tell anyone, but it helps to give context I suppose.” She could tell this boy likely had a hard time trusting people, for she was once the same way years ago. It was almost odd...This boy seemed so nostalgic to her despite the fact that the two had never even met before. “Three years ago, my brother and I ended up in a horrific and traumatic set of events. This event caused me to end up with multiple serious injuries and for my brother to be separated from me.” How heartbreaking indeed. Violet never had siblings, she never really had a family outside of the major.
Sometimes Violet would try to imagine what a family like what this boy probably had would be like, but imagination was never Violet’s strong suit so she often ended up drawing a blank. Though she was wondering something now, why wasn’t he supposed to tell her this? No, she wouldn’t ask as she wouldn’t want to upset this young boy anymore.
“Then...Let’s write a letter that will reach your brother’s heart. How would you like to start your letter?” Violet asks as her prosthetic fingers delicately were over the keys as if she were to start some kind of melody.
“Dearest little star...” As Ciel spoke, Violet would begin typing. “I understand that you’ve been through a lot, perhaps you’re lonely because of that but please know that someday your bright sky will return to you.” Ciel stopped for a moment to see Violet had stopped the moment he did, her head nodding as if to let him know to go on. “Violet, what would you say to someone you’re separated from if you could? I feel like I’m not letting him know enough...”
She lowered her head, thoughts of the major filling her head. Though everyone told her that he was dead, Violet still believed that someday he would return for he was likely still out there. Perhaps Ciel’s brother felt the same as she did, so perhaps it’s best to think of that the Major would want to write in a letter to Violet instead. “I would want to let him know never to give up hope that someday he’ll fine you, or...perhaps find happiness instead. Tell him...He should live life to the fullest until the day he finds his happiness again.”
“That’s...perfect actually.” The boy looked teary eyed but was quick to shrug it off. “Don’t give up your life to something that’ll end up getting you hurt your worse. Live life to your best and brightest just like the sky or even like that star I know you are. Though I cannot say what, just have hope that something you once thought was impossible will surely come true someday. Signed...Um...You can pick some kind of clearly anonymous name, anything really.”
“Then is something like Earl Reginald okay?” Ciel almost laughed though Violet was seriously in her tone. Though she developed sympathy and learned to understand emotions, Violet wasn’t really one to get silly humor. “Just sign it with ‘the other angel’ or something like that I guess.” “Understood.” And so she would type just that.
This was relatively quick for a letter, most would take an upwards of weeks or even a months to finish but perhaps Ciel was the type of child to immediately know what he wanted. “I um...You requested for a full week in your form so I am confused now that we finished it.”
“Forgive me, I had someone else write that form so I didn’t know about the whole timing thing...You can stay in here for the week if you’d like. The music hall is quite a lovely place I promise.”
Violet remembered back to the blonde girl sobbing and the strange behavior of everyone in it, shaking her head as she was carefully preparing the letter to be delivered to this other Ciel Phantomhive it seems. “No, that won’t be needed. I already live in London and I do not mind the travel to get from the postal company to here if needed.” Ciel looked displeased, as if she told him off instead of politely declining. “Fine. I suppose I really should write letters to my aunt and other family members so come back tomorrow to write another letter for me.”
“Understood, I am at your request until then.” Violet curtsies before taking everything she brought in and leaving the room. This time she was escorted by a strange silver haired man who covered his eyes. His nails were long as well, just what was this madhouse that made this child think he was safe living there? “Thank you for escorting me. I shall return tomorrow as he requested.” Violet said to him as she approached the front door.
“I hope you know, we won’t let you leave if you happen to tell another living soul about that boy’s true identity.” The man looked to be grinning from what Violet saw under the mess of hair. “Understood. Though I do not believe in secrets, I suppose we all have truths we do not want to get out.” With that, Violet left the music hall until she would return the next day.
This would certainly be an odd job for her, but as an auto memories doll - it made it all worth it. Violet only hopes these letters will bring a smile to his brother’s face or his other family.

Kuroshitsuji (Black Butler)
Okay so I just wanted to express my thoughts on how people complain about Sebastian so much, how some people ignore not so innocent Ciel is, and how some people seem to forget how morbid of a series Kuroshitsuji is.
—–——
Starting with Sebastian my issue is, I feel like no matter how much he states he’s a demon, people seems to forget he’s a demon. I’ve seen so many posts complaining about what a shit guy he is, like no shit he’s not a great guy he’s a demon. He’s there to fulfill Ciel’s wishes till the contract is completed. He is everything Ciel wants him to be. Sebastian is constantly evolving himself to fit his young masters needs, as Ciel grows Sebastian grows a long with him. Sebastian will never be truly human; his charming nature, his face, it’s all apart of his act keeping up with the butler aesthetic he upholds. Sebastian is just there to eat.Honestly I love characters like Ciel and Sebastian because of how complex they are. Sebastian is a demon, we don’t know his real name, we don’t know how old he is, we don’t know a lot about him. We don’t really know about him before Ciel's contact or his true origins, we just know he’s a crow demon and his preferred souls.
———
Okay now with Ciel, yes I know we all love Ciel; but it’s hard to ignore the fact that he’s not a great person seeing as he’s being raised by a demon, his family has always had affiliations with the underworld in England, and the fact that he was able to summon a demon at such a young age. Yes he’s gone through so many traumatic experiences while only being a child, but it’s obvious Ciel isn’t an ordinary child since he resorted to revenge and was willing to give his soul up for it. Most people completely blame Sebastian for the way Ciel is, I don’t think that’s completely the case. Yes Sebastian does play a major role in Ciel’s choices, actions, and even his personality. But I’m sure Vincent and the other previous Phantomhive’s have a major role in the way Ciel is as well. The Phantomhive’s have been the queen’s guard dogs for generations, so that have always had links to Englands underworld, black market, etc. And as we’ve seen in the manga and small parts in the Book of Murder movie; Vincent, though he is amazing to his family, he’s not that great of a guy as well. Because of his job, Vincent is selfish, manipulative, and will do whatever it takes to get the job done; quite like how we’ve always have seen Ciel. So to me Ciel would have ended up this way no matter what, even if his parents survived but maybe he’d be slightly light hearted. For me, Ciel is such an interesting character since we’ve how each arch kind of plays apart on how he grows as a person and how each death affects him. Of course Sebastian plays a major role in how Ciel is (as I said before), though Ciel controls Sebastian’s entire being, Sebastian has been manipulating Ciel into his perfect meal. And honestly I think that Ciel doesn’t care much for his actions and his selfishness because he knows he’s not going to live long, he sold his soul, he knows what’s going to happen to it when he dies; he probably doesn’t see a reason to repent for the things he does.
————
Finally the series all together, I’ve seen people complain about Yana Sensei killing off characters, specially when Agni was killed off. And as I’ve said before when I was talking about Sebastian, people complain about how heartless Sebastian is. Did you forget what series this is? This is Kuroshitsuji a story about a young boy summoning a demon to fulfill his desire for revenge. This isn’t a happy go lucky anime. Yes it does have its comic relief scenes but this story has been morbid since the beginning. I feel like some people believe in certain headcanons so whole heartedly they forget to draw the line at what is and isn’t canon and they get disappointed or angry at what’s actually happening. Kuroshitsuji or Black Butler, whatever you call it; has always been morbid, cruel, and dark. So many loved characters always get killed off at some point in the series. Like Madame Red and Fred Aberline in the first season, if you liked the second season the whole “Trancy” household was killed off, Book of Circus every one in the main cast of Noah’s Ark Circus except Snake got killed off, hell even in Book of Murder Sebastian jk died. My point is that no matter what the plot is going to move forward but with this series that probably means more loved characters are going to die as well, more things are going to unfold whether you like them or not, everyone is entitled to their own opinions so I know no matter what there are going to be people who aren’t going to be happy with the way things turn out but god damn it please if you’re not happy with the way things turn out don’t be such a Debby downer on the rest of the fandom who are enjoying themselves don’t ruin things for other people in the past few months I’ve seen so much negativity in this fandom because of haters and people who’ve turned their backs on the fandom because they didn’t like certain events, hey if you grew out of the fandom that’s cool, if you’re not as interested in it as before that’s fine too, just don’t start bashing it or shit on people for still liking it. There’s so much negativity going on in the world and a lot of people turn to their fandoms for salvation do you really want to be that asshole ruining someone’s day even more by tagging their fandom with a hate post.

Sebastian
Alright, so when Sebastian first found out about this ability, it was during a life and death situation (for you at least)
You had ended up going with him and Ciel on a chase to catch the group behind a recent string of especially violent murders, something the Yard had been pushing to get through as quickly as possible
Sebastian hadn’t wanted you to go, back time was of the essence and he didn’t have any spare to argue with you about it, so you went anyway
Needless to say it went decidedly wrong
The three of you ran straight into an ambush
Whilst Sebastian had thought it was a distinct possibility, it didn’t happen at all in the way he expected and he hadn’t been able to take out any of the shooters because he was having to protect both you and Ciel
A bullet just clipped the collar of your greatcoat and you yelped, out of surprise rather than pain, diving behind a discarded wooden crate
Sebastian and Ciel joined you moments later
You were, much to your distress, unarmed and waiting very impatiently for Ciel to bring out his own gun
When he didn’t, you called him out on it
“Y/N don’t you think I would already be using it if that were an option?!” He rebutted, more than irate
“Well what’s wrong with it?” You whisper-shouted back in frustration, jaw dropping open when he said it was broken
“For God’s sake, give it here”
A few minutes later and with only a key someone had dropped at the side of the road and the corner of a thin piece of metal, the gun was back to rights and fully functional once more
Ignoring the earl’s flabbergasted expression, you leapt up and, using the crate as cover, began to take down your attackers
Each bullet you fired hit one of them square in the chest and in seconds only two were left standing
You cursed when the trigger clicked and nothing happened; out of bullets
The last two men realised this at almost the same time and started firing back, giving you very little time to crouch down behind the crate once more
You glanced between Ciel and Sebastian, both of whom had very wide eyes
When neither said anything, you gave an indignant cry about how you were still getting shot at and neither of them were doing anything
Sebastian quickly dealt with the last two then walked back to you and Ciel, letting you know it was safe
Ciel went to check the shooters’ pockets, presumably for some kind of identification, whilst Sebastian remained standing with you, an appraising gaze locked on your eyes
When you asked him what it was, he just smirked
“I had no idea you were hiding something like that, my darling”
You grinned back
“Perks of being Russian,” you offered as explanation, “my whole family can do everything I just did, really it would be a travesty if I wasn’t able to”
“A travesty indeed,” was Sebastian’s reply, then Ciel called you over to carry on the search once again
Edward
Edward on the other hand, found out aboard the Campania
You had been staying in a smaller suite that was fairly close to his and his family’s, disturbed from the book you were reading by a sudden bout of screaming from just down the hall
You glanced out through the spy hole in the door to be met by the gaping maw of what could only be described as a monster, groaning and beginning to pound against the door
The smell emanating from outside was rancid and you stumbled back from the door in surprise, frowning when the hinges started to rattle
A determined look came over your features and you rushed to the desk your room was fitted with, opening the draw and pulling out your loaded twin handguns and multiple spare magazines
You ripped open the door and shot the creature point blank in the chest once, twice but to no avail
When it didn’t so much as flinch you went for the next best option; the head
That seemed to do the trick
You stepped over the body, mindful it didn’t move again, then made your way out into the hallway
Bodies of the nobility littered the bloodstained carpet, but the moans of the monsters and the screams of their victims had disappeared around the corner
You twirled your guns once then took off in the opposite direction, every sense strained to make sure you weren’t caught off guard
Edward’s suite was clearly still in the thick of things and you took out as many of the undead as you could before they could make their way through the doors
You rushed inside as soon as a path was clear at the same time as a butler dressed all in black appeared, Ciel Phantomhive’s if you remembered correctly
“Y/N!” Edward called out, eyes quickly scanning the blood on your face and the guns in your hands
He asked if you were alright, concern in his voice, but gave an annoyed huff when the monsters resumed their attack once more
Yourself and the butler told the Midfords to aim for the monsters’ heads at the same time, but in doing so you were caught off guard
You yelled in protest as one of the undead ripped a gun from your grasp, leaving you no choice but to let it go lest it were to rip your hand off as well
You shot it regardless before the others had time to attack, but that didn’t prevent you growling in frustration over your gun
Edward told you not to worry about it, that he would be able to find you another one, but you had already picked it up again
You grabbed a butter knife from the table behind you and immediately set to work, returning the gun to its full glory in just a few minutes, before the monsters even had time to return
You smirked at the look of surprise adorning Edward’s features
“Wipe that look off of your face, Edward,” his mother admonished, “she’s Russian, what did you expect?”
He was starting to smile now, then asked how long you’d been able to do that
“Pretty much my whole life,” you told him proudly, reloading and turning to face the fight ahead
