man i love how most of q!forever shipps are like sun/moon coded. like, he just keeps getting into intense and interesting relationships with the cold/logical crowd y'know?? philza, cellbit and badboyhalo are so clearly the shade, the logical ones, and forever just does such a good job of being an ever pulling sun to them

I gotta make a post about this. It will drive me insane otherwise. But I really REALLY like the way in which Beavis and Butt-Head incorporates the music video commentary segments within the context of the actual show.
On one hand, it is indeed a way for musicians and creators to be promoted, albeit in a satirical and tongue-in-cheek way, through the banter of two ignorant fifteen year old boys. But this does not mean these segments are floating around unrelated. Actually, the commentary segments are completely intwined within the world of the show. They are not just used as opportunities to make pop-culture references and trash the musicians, but as a jumping-off point for Beavis and Butt-Head to get into off-topic tangents. Ranging from simple questions to sparse recollections of their home-life. I can't say this definitely since I haven't exactly been keeping track, but it appears to me that most of the sparse information out there about their moms and family come from statements made during these segments. Then there are also all those moments during music videos where they aren't even paying attention to what is on-screen and instead are doing stuff like looking at magazines, trying to cook, fighting, falling asleep, etc.
This all is such an odd yet interesting window into their lives, and how much it revolves around their television. I don't think this is unintentional at all. The characters are first introduced in the pilot, as being parked in front of their TV getting off on a woman advertising exercise equipment. Mike Judge is indeed making some kind of commentary here regarding the modern dependence on TV and cable television (especially in the context of the 90s when the show came out). At the same time though, I don't feel like this is a completely mind-numbing experience in the case of Beavis and Butt-Head. In fact, I find their interaction with the programs on television extremely "active" whether it be actually constructing opinions about what they are watching (even if it rarely is more complex than 'this rules' or 'this sucks'), or deciding to do something based off of seeing it advertised or talked about on TV. When you think about it, most of the plots of the show use the television as a catalyst for the episode's plot, which just ties the TV to the show as a whole even more.

IDEK WHERE TO START this show is just absolutely delightful it is so fucking fun, i feel happy at all the right times, sad at all the right times, and frustrated at all the right times. like the balance is there.
the silliness is there, the confusion from the way things are edited works, because it all feels like youre really in a high schooler's brain. the way things jump around with the imaginary scenarios both torment and soothe the characters as well as the audience depending on the scene. like for example tinn imagining gun saying "leave me alone" over the phonecall in pt1 vs the scene when gun talks about his dad over the phone and tinn imagines theyre in the same bed so that he can be close to gun and comfort him better.
there are physical lines dividing characters at several points along the ep which were then matched by drawn lines to feed into the music video parallels LIKE??? IT JUST WORKS. it balances, it's earnest, these really feel like kids experiencing a bunch of emotions at once, the over-the-top dramatics being followed by sincere conversations where the transitions are so smooth it's really like "how did we get here?" vs the rigid rubber band snapping back to reality of other scenes. im just enjoying the way this story is told VERY MUCH

no guys car seat headrests Twin Fantasy album is so curtwen from Spies are Forever.
they're lovers but because of their time period they pretend to be 'brothers' with how close they are. "and you'll bring him home to meet your mother and say, 'ma, this is my brother'" that's literally them!!

Even though Hunter’s supposed to be a clone of Caleb, my brain sometimes has a hard time putting that together considering how different they are personality wise. For example there’s Hunter, the ‘bad but sad boy’ who we’ve mostly seen grumpy and uptight (most of the time anyway), and Caleb, Philip’s kind and gentle older brother (or at least that’s how the fandom depicts him). They’re got practically the exact same face, but brain still goes ‘Nope. Not the Same’

You ever just see an edit or a post that is so detailed and just so beautiful and it’s like an appreciation about a fandom you’re in and it just hits you how many people actually love the fandom as much as you do. It hits you so suddenly how much reading that book or watching that movie actually changed your life. It hits you just how much love you have for the characters and the story and you just are so obsessed and in love with it that it makes you emotional knowing none of it is real and that it’s just a story, knowing that all the characters are just a fantasy. But you still appreciate it. Because those truly heart wrenching stories that we read with all the romance, hate, angst, and so many other different emotions are the reason you love and see the world the way you do. Sure that hot perfect boyfriend or girlfriend isn’t real, sure that weird hero who has no idea what they’re doing but is still doing it isn’t real, that friend group with all those poetry and murder talking people aren’t real. But really to people like me and probably you, they ARE real. They’re so so so real and they mean SO much to us. In the end it’s really quite life changing how much the truly mean.

k heres a heads up: im going to be focusing on just a few characters to get back in the flow of writing and also try and make a dent in threads. its doing me no good with how im going cause every time i look at my tracker with the intention to write, i feel the need to do everything all at once and then i lose motivation when i see just how much there is. by focusing on certain threads with certain characters i hope to remedy this and drag out the motivation to do threads my brain doesnt immediately latch on to. that doesnt mean you cant send stuff for muse, just dont expect a reply any time soon if it doesnt hit that Brain Wave, you feel me?
anywho my main focuses are gonna be:
gundham
kazuichi
fuyuhiko
and an oc or two when the mood strikes
like i said, you can still send stuff for other characters but unless my brain goes 👀 it might be a while before you see a reply

lived my whole life in guilt bc i thought i was responsible for people's feelings. newly realizing that other people are responsible for their feelings and reactions, even if they make it seem like i'm the problem. a lot of the time it really has to do w them and their own emotional regulation. i can't keep thinking i'm not allowed to have space bc of other people's insecurities. like i literally refuse to dim myself. other people are responsible for their feelings just as i'm responsible for mine.

i love when words fit right. seize was always supposed to be that word, and so was jester. tuesday isn't quite right but thursday should be thursday, that's a good word for it. daisy has the perfect shape to it, almost like you're laughing when you say it; and tulip is correct most of the time. while keynote is fun to say, it's super wrong - i think they have to change the label for that one. but fox is spot-on.
most words are just, like, good enough, even if what they are describing is lovely. the night sky is a fine term for it but it isn't perfect the way november is the correct term for that month.
it's not just in english because in spanish the phrase eso si que es is correct, it should be that. sometimes other languages are also better than the english words, like how blue is sloped too far downwards but azul is perfect and hangs in the air like glitter. while butterfly is sweet, i think probably papillion is more correct, although for some butterflies féileacán is much better. year is fine but bliain is better. sometimes multiple languages got it right though, like how jueves and Πέμπτη are also the right names for thursday. maybe we as a species are just really good at naming thursdays.
and if we were really bored and had a moment and a picnic to split we could all sit down for a moment and sort out all the words that exist and find all the perfect words in every language. i would show you that while i like the word tree (it makes you smile to say it), i think arbor is correct. you could teach me from your language what words fit the right way, and that would be very exciting (exciting is not correct, it's just fine).
i think probably this is what was happening at the tower of babel, before the languages all got shifted across the world and smudged by the hand of god. by the way, hand isn't quite right, but i do like that the word god is only 3 letters, and that it is shaped like it is reflecting into itself, and that it kind of makes your mouth move into an echoing chapel when you cluck it. but the word god could also fit really well with a coathanger, and i can't explain that. i think donut has (weirdly) the same shape as a toothbrush, but we really got bagel right and i am really grateful for that.
grateful is close, but not like thunder. hopefully one day i am going to figure out how to shape the way i love my friends into a little ceramic (ceramic is very good, almost perfect) pot and when they hold it they can feel the weight of my care for them. they can put a plant in there. maybe a daisy.

I have no idea how he'd go about something like this because experimentation with living things isn't really his area, but I kinda want Kaz to get his love of food back by bonding with a sourdough starter or something bizarre like that.
