Spg prompt/AU where The Spine is scrapped really early on. Rabbit was convinced that any memory of him was just a dream, and the other robots have no clue as to who or what he was up until they find some old plans and some scrap pieces of The Spine. They decide to try and put The Spine back together in secret in order to uproot some family secrets.
What’s next? Who knows!

I understand why a lot of people believe Merlin would be bad at teaching others magic, but tbh I disagree. I think that, given the time and resources to devote to his studies, he would quickly become a very good teacher.
My reasoning here is based primarily on the interpretation of sorcery as a rhetorical act. If magic is “the fabric of this world” and “the essence which binds all things together,” sorcery is the use of a language / sign system to persuade the world to alter itself in a particular way.
While at first glance, Merlin’s reliance on intuitive magic would seem to leave him ill-equipped to train ordinary sorcerers, his ability to feel magic, the raw life-energy of the world (which he perceives to be enhanced in sacred spaces), and even the emotional imprint that a spirit leaves behind (referring to the druid shrine in 4.10) indicates to me that he has always been at least subconsciously aware of the interweave of magic through the world.
What does this have to do with teaching, you ask? Well, here’s the thing. Most sorcerers have to train for years to master, for example, telekinetic spells. They have to learn, not just the Old Language itself, but the skill of magical oratory: word choice, inflection, demeanor, etc.
We see Merlin doing this in 1.02. I know it looks ridiculous when he tries to fake out the dog statue (because it is), but the way he moves around the room and experiments with saying the spell in different tones and at different speeds as well as adjusting his pronunciation— as if he’s appealing to the statue itself, trying to convince it to come alive— is, I think, founded in good practice.
Now, my suspicion is that studying magic out of books might leave one with the impression that there is A Right Way to intone a spell, and if you just learn it, then you can cast effectively. Whereas, if one is aware of the world as a living interlocutor rather than a passive object, they might be able to make a less formal and more personal appeal, which would both be more effective and require less rigid memorization of forms.
Merlin does have one advantage, of course, that doesn’t translate into better pedagogy: magic loves him. It’s going to be more inclined to do what he asks, and even preempt his requests by simply sensing what he needs and providing it, because he belongs to it and it to him on a more intimate level than other sorcerers.

I feel like if Zeke started crooning the opening verse of Closer by Nine Inch Nails to Caleb, that poor bastard would just burst into flames on the spot. Like it comes on the radio while they're driving around and upon hearing the first opening beats, Zeke gets the world's most shit eating grin on his face and Caleb goes from just chilling in his seat, thinking about leg presses, to extremely uncomfortable and red as a tomato in three bars.

I become fascinated by a lot of obscure or minor comic characters even if I don’t actually like them. Right. And I've already detailed in another post that I'm a general big marvel jack o’lantern head and i've alluded to this guy in it. But. Haunts me my every waking hour the one specific jack o’lantern during dark reign who literally Killed And Ate Somebody as a Sacrifice To Satan to get magic powers as some sort of revenge quest for his brother (Another Jack O’Lantern) who had Norman Fucking Osborn pay for his bail because Norman had plans for him and then after his initial appearance he never shows up again. What in God's Name Happened To Him. Is He Locked Up In Norman's Basement Or

man there's still so much stuff i don't know or understand about bsd fandom's politics and discourse and whatnot. like ive kinda picked up on some things and i sometimes think i might come to some conclusions myself from my own critical analysis of the series..... but again like. im dumb as a rock and my brain cells are super dead so there's a lot of common sense kinda stuff out there that i just never pick up on by myself. also ive basically forgotten all of bsd canon anyway bc i haven't touched the literal show/manga in fucking ages lmao. also bsd is just all-around fucked up so like basically every character, ship, and any other aspect is problematic in some shape or form.... but idk i guess im just not exact confident in my knowledge of what kinds of things cross That Line of what's morally acceptable to like as a fan. i want to know so i can be careful of what kinds of content i interact with.
for example... i Really want to know Why some ships are considered bad (like on their DNI list bad) by a large portion of the fandom. cause like obvsly there are definitely bad ones out there that Are obvious to pick up on, but like... i guess one of the ships that confuses me the most is oda/dazai? like that ship is condemned by A LOT of ppl in the fandom but... tbh i’m not rlly certain why? idk maybe it’s something completely obvious like maybe i forgot what dazai’s age was during the dark era (i coulda swore he was like at least 18?)... cause like okay i Get it if he was actually a minor when oda died cause like... oda was around 24ish i think? early to mid 20s, i know that much. but anyway, other than the potentially harmful age difference (this is literally just me being too lazy to go look up their ages in the timeline, but in the case that it is a minor/adult situation, then yes i understand and wholly agree with its condemnation and i would immediately ban even the Idea of them being a ship from my mind) but other than that, i don’t think there was anything else that immediately stands out about their canon relationship that was problematic? BUT AGAIN my memory is complete shit and i only watched season 2 ONE time so lmao. don’t take anything i say as being accurate.
anyway i forgot what other questions i had.... if i remember them i’ll try to put em down here so i can come back to it or think about it more or discuss it with anyone who wants to talk about it.
