Hi! im a rlly big fan of ur works and was just wondering if i could req a scenario w forgetful! reader? :D characters are: dazai, kunikida, akutagawa, and poe reader recieves a gift from them and accidentally missplaces it which stresses out reader and they tell it to them and they decide to buy a new one :D (also "they" is referred to the chars i mentioned) sorry if this is too much! dont forget to rest, drink water and stay hydrated! hope ur having a great rest of your day/night/afternoon :)

Dazai

Dazai always teases you about not turning work in on time, which annoys you a lot

Has a tally chart of every time you've forgotten something

He really gets on your nerves sometimes, but you try to joke around as much as you can

For your anniversary, he got you a beautiful pendant that matched his own

It was gleaming with a silver lining, a black ribbon to attach it, and your favorite stone in the center

You loved it so much and wore it every day

But, one day you were getting ready for work, and the pendant wasn't on your dresser

You had a little bit of a breakdown and tore your house apart looking for it

You gave up and sat in despair

Kunikida called a million times considering you're almost never late for work

when you heard a knock on the door, you assumed it was Kunikida until you got up close to it

"Oh Y/nnnn~ You're never late wassuppppp"

Shit.

You ran and hid back in the living room

"I'M DEADLY SICK GO AWAY DAZAI!" "wait wahhhh?"

As you hid under a mountain of blankets, waiting for him to hopefully leave, you heard your front door swing open

"You forgot I had a key to your place Belladonnaaaa!"

Suddenly the blanket was ripped off you and you were exposed

You looked up at Dazai as he blinked at you, waiting for you to speak

Tears immediately formed in your eyes as you stared at him in embarrassment

He got even more confused when you started profusely apologizeing

"I LOST THE PENDANT YOU GAVE ME, I'M SO SO SORRY OSAMU! I'M REALLY REALLY SORRY!"

You expected Dazai to tease you, or be upset, but instead he laughed

When you looked up, he was smiling down at you

"I figured this would happen."

He reached into his pocket and pulled out the exact same pendant from before

You looked up in amazement as he handed it to you

"I even took the liberty of getting a second one made, hehe."

You guys skipped work together after, and went on a cute little cafe date

Kunikida

He sometimes gets a little aggravated with your forgetfulness sometimes, but he tries to be as understanding as possible

He tries to help you remember stuff in a logical way, like helping you take notes or texting you things you need to remember

He does snap a few times, but does apologize immediately after each time

Kunikida got you a custom-made notebook to keep notes in, it was a darker shade of your favorite color, had lightly tea-stained pages, and had "Never fall" Written on the front

You would take notes in it and it honestly really helped your memory

You got to work early one morning to finish some work, you went to write something down and... Your notebook wasn't there

You freaked out, it was just you in the office, but in only a mere twenty minutes Kida would be there to start the day

You basically tore apart your desk looking for it (neatly putting it back together afterward)

You went through your office locker and your work bag. Even checking Dazai and Ranpo's desks to see if either of them had hidden it from you

In the middle of researching through your own bag, Kunikida came in for work

He noticed you over at Ranpo's desk and was a bit confused

"What are you doing in Ranpo's desk?"

His voice caught you off guard, making you slam your head into the metal desk

You laid on the ground in defeat as Kunikida came over to check if you were okay

"Please don't be mad..."

You explained what happened and how you really didn't mean to lose it

Kuni sighed as he picked you up off the floor

"I'm not mad, maybe a little irritated, but definitely not mad."

You went to the cafe while he looked for it, luckily Kunikida's ideals for the day included 10 minutes of free time for you

When you came up with Kunikida's coffee, the notebook was sitting on his desk with his own, he'd managed to find it

Akutagawa

He doesn't really care how forgetful you are unless it interrupts him

He does get irritated when you forget missions or to turn in paperwork, he has snapped a little more than Kunikida

He got you a beautiful feather pen for your birthday, it was the first really meaningful gift he ever got you

You wrote with it in journals and such to try to help you memorize certain things

But one evening, you forgot where you had put it.

You freaked out, worrying Akutagawa would be upset you lost such an expansive gift

You looked for almost an hour and a half before you realized it was gone.

At that time, Akutagawa came by your apartment to see what was taking you so long

When he opened the door he was met with you lying on the floor in defeat

"What's the problem here?"

You looked up at him as he was walking over, and just hid behind your hands

"..I lost your present."

Akutagawa stared down at you for a minute, whether trying to calm his anger; Or thinking about what to say you don't know.

He sighed as he started searching himself

"Although it was wildly expensive, I'm not mad. Let's just keep looking."

You stood up confused as he kept flipping over things

You walked up and hugged him from behind

"Thank you..." "Mhm, not a problem."

You both kept looking, but in reality, it wasn't even in your apartment. It was in your desk drawer at the office

Poe

Poe is very patient with you, he's also a slightly forgetful person so he understands that you're really trying

Poe tries to write you little notes and hide them throughout your desk to help remember importance things

He also checks frequently on you to see if you're doing what you're supposed to be

Poe wrote you a book of poems about yourself, it was a full book to the very last page

It was very indearing, and you read it to help you fall asleep

You had always kept it in your work bag, but when you when you went to take it out one day it was missing

You freaked out, starting to look through the whole office

You'd remembered putting it in your bag this morning so it has to be there somewhere

After about 30 minutes of intense searching, Poe came in to check up on you

"What are you doing my dear Y/n?"

You just couldn't lie to him, you sighed as he walked over

"Poe.. I'm really sorry. I lost the book you wrote for me. I know the cover was expensive, plus all your work is gone.. please forgive me."

Poe smiled as he grabbed your face into his hands

"My dear I have every one of those poems memorized by heat. And don't worry about expenses, it was only a meer 65,000 Yen. I'll forget that in seconds."

You chuckled as he hugged you tightly

Karl ended up having the book, and Poe read it to the both of you that night

I have had this fanfic idea rot my brain all week.

TW: for death and grief, (Poe and Ranpo).

Imagine this: Ranpo dies.

And Poe can't cope.

So he begins trying to write Ranpo as a character in all of his books.

So that he can visit the stories and see him again.

But it's not Ranpo, and Poe can tell, he can feel it.

And his previous obsession with Ranpo becomes a new, different, obsessive one.

He begins by researching who Ranpo was when he was alive.

He reads all of his old cases.

He even talks to cops, victims, and more.

He begins visiting the detective agency and interviewing everyone nonstop about Ranpo.

He maybe even tracks down his hometown and his parents.

But no matter what he does, the Ranpo in his novels isn't Ranpo.

And so he chases the idea of creating a perfect Ranpo.

And he writes and he writes and he writes......

But it's never Ranpo.

It's just imitations of him. Shadows. Mimics.

But also....

The better he gets at writing Ranpo, the shorter the novels last.

Cause the faster the Ranpo imitation can solve the murder mysteries.

So the closer he gets to his unattainable goal of replicating Ranpo.

The more he loses him all over again.

He remembers everything you've said to him even when he finds something not as interesting.

If you think you're talking too much on the subject then he would discourage you on changing the subject if he finds the conversation boring at the moment but when you were talking about something he finds interesting he'll tell you not to stop talking about it.

Edgar Allan Poe

Has gathering info for his new novel or something.

If its about like natural poisoning or something he might ask questions about the plant, or just ask questions about biology in general.

He doesn't really feel annoyed when you're talking about something you love, it's nice you're enjoying yourself.

And if you feel like you're annoying him he'll tell you you're not but it doesn't really feel like you're annoying him while talking tho.

He's a good listener and enjoys talking about various topics yk.

Mushitaro Oguri

Honestly he isn't one to be into biology despite his green suit and the fact that he got compared to a cucumber (to which I completely agree) but that doesn't mean he doesn't enjoy the random facts about cats or names of flowers and plants he sees everyday.

He'll get so used to you speaking about different aspects of biology that he stars to think it's common knowledge to know all the names of the cat species or when particular flower blossoms.

So much so to the point that he'll mention it in casual conversations with acquaintances.

I need some good ranpoe headcanons…. I just KNOW that Poe gets jealous easily. But it’s not the “you’re mine” jealous, it’s the “how dare you think you’re that close to Ranpo” kind. Honestly? Ranpo loves it, because he likes to play with Poe and say things just to make him more jealous and get a reaction out of him.

EDGAR ALLAN POE:

He thinks you are absolutely beautiful, but absolutely terrifying. He's interested in your past and the world you had lived in - it would make for a great novel.

But somehow ,, ends up at your doorstep, literally not knowing why he's coming right to you after wimping out. Like ... for the 17th time already.

You're not as bad as you looked, actually. You were pretty nice and tsundere when not trying to destroy the world.

So he found really refreshing, although, thinks you might just do some 360 and end up just fooling him into thinking you were a peacemaker. He's paranoid, okay.

Really like your HoS outfit though. It didn't look like the normal, but again, you were from a different world.

You sometimes talk about your years back in your home.

Poe listens so aggressively, taking down notes which he might be able to use for his own novel.

yosano sometimes finds surprise gifts on her doorstep that are exactly to her tastes (they're from kouyou)

sigma, to impress nikolai, has ATTEMPTED (key word attempted) to braid his own hair before. nikolai spent like ten minutes brushing out the tangles afterwards

t4t kousano ? i think yes. they take estrogen at the same time of the day bc they say its a bonding thing (it so is)

dazai LOOVES those big sweaters that have like huge arms bc theyre SOO soft adn warm. there's one time he gets a package and he's very confused because he didnt order anything and he opens it and inside theres a note that says "happy birthday, bastard" and he immediately recognizes the handwriting as chuuya's and inside is a light blue sweater with the big arms and he doesnt take it off for like three days because he LOVES it so much

tachihara rants to hirotsu bc "GIN IS SOOOOO PRETTY" or "AUAUAGUAUA JUNICHIROUOUOUU...??!? ?!?!??!!" and hirotsu is so done actually but he doesnt mind

higuchi likes to collect little trinkets and has boxes and boxes of stuff she doesnt need but wanted to buy

chuuya "spender's guilt" nakahara x osamu "impulsive buyer" dazai. i rest my case

fyodor has a fan/heater in his room because he cant fall asleep very easily without some sort of sound

poe has found an easy way to get the marble out of ranpo's ramune bottles so ranpo can have the marble and the bottle if he wants

tanitachigin, tachihara is 100% the one who screams at horror games

sometimes sigma wakes up and his hair is in a really nice braided bun or something. (nikolai did it) (its very pretty) (sigma doesn't take it down until he absolutely has to, if not the end of the day)

chuuya keeps bandage wrap in several places in his apartment because he KNOWS dazai just shows up because for some reason he never bothered to take back his apartment key so dazai will pop in to just chill so he just keeps bandage wrap there for him. he also keeps canned crab in a little minifridge in his bedroom so it doesn't clutter his main fridge

jouno LOVES LOVES LOVES chocolate stuff. specifically chocolate covered strawberries he adores them with his whole heart. tecchou thinks its odd (he thinks strawberries in cocktail sauce is way better) but he's made jouno some damn good chocolate covered strawberries because he knows he likes them. i imagine sometimes he'll buy white strawberries and dip them in white chocolate so BOTH of them can enjoy them (even though tecchou thinks they're waaay too sweet, jouno really likes them so he'll eat them with him to make him happy)

I keep wondering what language Poe and Ranpo use when they speak to each other. Poe is American, lived in America and was in an organization were all (?) characters are based of American authors so I'd assume they spoke English. He only went to Japan because the organization had business there and saw it as a opportunity to have his revenge on Ranpo. Ranpo is Japanese. That's all, but I really wouldn't be surprised if he was fluent/almost fluent in English. Though on the other hand, I think I might like the idea of Poe learning Japanese just to speak to Ranpo more.

With that said, I hereby declare that Poe learned Japanese just to speak to Ranpo and Ranpo refuses to tell him he's fluent in English because 1. he finds it adorable and really sweet, and 2. he gets to spend more time with him by teaching him Hiragana (The Japanese main writing system)

Dazai, Poe, & Nikolai headcanons

Nikolai and Dazai live with Poe. None of them feel the need to mention this to anyone

Once when Poe was bored Nikolai taught him how to build a bomb. His logic was that if anything could cure the boredom it would be building bombs and it was good knowledge for a book. He turned out to be right about both of those things.

They regularly go see Broadway shows together

Nikolai forces them to have horror movies nights together once a month

They regularly get high together

Both Nikolai and Dazai turn Poe's backyard into a stunning garden

Everything in their shared house is payed for by Poe

Between Dazai having two weasels and a pygmy goat, Nikolai having two rats (named after Sigma and Fyodor), two sugar gliders (named after Poe and Dazai) a parakeet named Nicole, and Karl the house is incredibly chaotic

All three are more than willing to pet sit if one of the others need it.

If one starts with some over dramatic nonsense the other two are at least 80% likely to join in

They have a group chat together

All three have absolutely zero impulse control and will 100% join in on a stupid idea the other had. It gives Chuuya, Ranpo, and Sigma gray hairs.

They regularly drag Chuuya, Ranpo, and Sigma on triple dates. Somehow they always go exceeding well.

Nikolai has forced the other two to go to the mall wearing full on ball gowns with accessories with him multiple times

Small BSD kindergarden!AU headcanon pt.1 - Ranpo, Poe and Mushitaro playing detective

Ranpo loves playing detective games with Poe and Mushitaro

He always wants to be the detective who leads the investigations

Poe is always the second detective who helps Ranpo to solve the cases. He also always brings in new ideas to the "case"

Ranpo absolutley loves his ideas and praises Poe often for such great ideas

Mushitaro wasn't a big fan of the detective games at first since he always had to play the role of the villain or the criminal but for some reason Ranpo never stopped asking him to play with them

Mushitaro often tried to hide when he saw Ranpo and Poe walking towards him or when he heard Ranpo calling his name but hiding was useless

Even if he tried to ignore them or if he said that he didn't wanted to play, Ranpo would always pester him until he gave in

One time he got so pissed that he snapped at Ranpo, telling him that he didn't wanted to play the criminal anymore.

He already expected Ranpo to be angry or to start pouting but to his surprise Ranpo started to laugh and told him that he can be a detective too if he wanted to

Since then they are all "detectives"

Mushitaros' plush ghost and Poes' plush racoon "Karl" are nearly always either valueable witnesses or the main suspects

Ranpo always walks around the kindergarden, hunched over and inspecting everything with his detective magnifying glass while Poe and Mushitaro follow him, talking about their ideas, theories and who they suspect

Sometimes they involve random other kids in their play without them knowing

Once they scared a kid since they kept following them and kept watching them from a distance

When one of the kindergardners asked them what they were doing, Ranpo told them that they were spying on a suspect of a big case while Poe hid behind him

Mushitaro is often complaining about things making no sense

Poe has a bit more fantasy and imagines the greatest most twisted cases while Mushitaro complains about the case being way too over the top

Sometimes they involve Yosano in their play as doctor

They call themselves "The Perfect Crime Trio"

They also started to accept "serious cases" of other kids after they had no ideas for new cases anymore

Now they also solve things like which kid stole the candy or ate the last yogurt
