I really don’t get Sam at the end of slice girls. He just shot his brother’s daughter and then he is lecturing Dean on not being able to shot his own kid. Even saying Emma was not ready his. Like I get him being pissed because Dean killed Amy, but it’s not like he did do it himself.
Also the comment about Sam wondering how Dean knows so much about babies when he was literally 4 months old when Dean had to look after Sammy.

Like look at his face in the last gif. This moment did something to Dean, he wanted to get to know her and seeing Sam shoot Emma, his daughter, hurt him deeply.

reading some of the tags in the emma discourse poll is so mindblowing, and not in a good way. i feel like I'm entering an alternate reality reading this shit
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
God, you want Dean to have an apple pie life so bad it makes you look stupid.
"Kill the monster that wants to be good" DID YOU FUCKING WATCH IT???? She was LYINGGGG. She was manipulating him. Sam had been listening to it already!
When Sam and Dean argue about it in the car, it's not primarily about whether she should've died, but about whether Dean could've done it (and also that Dean might've LET himself be killed because of his current post-Bobby emotions, plus foreshadowing the finale by telling Dean, "Don't get killed.")
The main theme right now is how both of them are dealing with their grief, and though the comparison to Amy IS made, that's more for Dean's benefit than Sam's defense. Sam doesn't need defense.
Tumblr media
This one in particular gets drowned for being stupid.
Maybe he should've, actually! If they all want to kill him, definitely. Idc, that's like the premise of the show, dude. They kill things that want to kill people, especially each other. Idk what to tell you.🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

Chef!Dean Winchester x Journalist!Castiel Novak
Jensen Ackles Masterlist
Taglist open here !!!
Fic on AO3
Tumblr media
Summary: Chef Dean Winchester is opening is brand new restaurant, Crossroads. However, before they open, he has been convinced by his Sous-Chef, Benny Laffite, and brother, Sam Winchester, to do an interview for the Chicago Tribune's food column.
The journalist for the food column just so happens to be Castiel Novak.
A/N: my first full length destiel fic.... this is so fun i love stealing movies and putting my favorite characters into them. this VERY loosely based off chef (that's it, that's the title of the movie) and some other chef type movies ive seen. this concept has been in my head for a while so, y'know, thought I'd share it with the world finally.
General Warnings: dean is still a very sad man (😞), swearing, implied/also explicit mentions of abuse and child neglect, food as a metaphor for love, romance, trans male character (dean), dealing with single parenthood, mentions of pregnancy, mentions of chicago specific things.
ONE. TWO. THERE. FOUR. FIVE. SIX.

Don’t think about Dean getting rid of Emma’s body. Don’t think about him folding her small hands over her bloodied chest. Don’t think about him crossing her ankles, seeing her brand new converse shoes and wondering who bought them for her. Was it someone who loved her? Did Amazons even feel love for their children or only a sense of duty? Don’t think about him snapping at Sam to shut up while his brother urged him to hurry before someone called the cops about the gunshot. Don’t think about Dean carefully lifting her hair from behind her back, laying it out in two tresses over her shoulders, wondering what it would have been like to learn to braid it. Don’t think about him stripping the sheets off the hotel bed and tucking them gently, gingerly around her lifeless body. Don’t think about him hoisting her into his arms for the first time, marveling at how light she was, how tiny. Don’t think about him laying her across the backseat in the car. Don’t think about him pulling off the road several miles away. Don’t think about him carrying her into the woods on the side of the road, Sam lugging a couple shovels and a jug of accelerant. Don’t think about Dean walking until he found a peaceful clearing, grassy where the trees broke for the night sky, surrounded by a chorus of crickets and tree frogs. She’d be able to see the stars here, Dean thinks, as he starts to dig. He gruffly directs Sam to keep watch; Dean will do the work. He’ll dig until his shoulders ache, until it feels like his spine is splintering at the small of his back, until the shovel rubs raw blisters into his palms. The hole is untidy and shallow - above all, small. Barely five feet long. She didn’t even come up to his shoulder. Would she have kept growing? Don’t think about Dean lifting his little girl for the last time, laying her into the cradle of damp dirt. He spills salt and accelerant over her still body and he thinks she should have had a pyre. She was a hunter, after all, just as much as him. He lets his lighter fall, watches long after her bones turn to ash, blinking back the sting of smoke in his eyes.
On the way back from her gravesite, Sam tells him she wasn’t yours. Not really.

And another sad thing about Emma is that there are so few scenes to draw her from

I simply think, in Slice Girls, they should have given Emma freckles. To increase to damage to mine and Dean’s psyches

Emma literally is only a few days old though I kind of see why people go so hard for her considering her entire world is being in a cult for a few days convinced to kill her dad and even then having doubts. that is kind of horrifying.

not to get too earnest about an utterly ridiculous season seven motw buckleming episode (and i should probably save my thoughts for my writers rewatch anyway since i'm only one away from it) but the interesting thing to me about emma is that at the end when they try to hand wave it all away with the whole "it's fine, she wasn't really yours" thing, dean pushes back on it!!! like he absolutely could've just been like you know what. you're right. it was just a monster really, not my human kid, so it doesn't count. but the fact that he literally makes a point to be like no, she was actually mine means something!!!

I'm writing an Emma fanfic and I was thinking about some things
Emma as Dean's daughter is such a wasted potential, she's literally one of the best ways to give Dean a kid in a way that doesn't make him totally miserable
Everyone knows that if Dean had a normal human child he would forever feel guilty, because he would feel that he puts his kid's life at risk because he is a hunter, for the enemies he has and it would be even worse if the child chose to follow Dean's footsteps and become a hunter
But with Emma it would be another story. Because she is an Amazon, even if Dean wasn't her father, she would be inserted in the supernatural world, she would be part of it whether or not and being Dean's daughter, she actually has a chance of freedom that being the daughter of a regular man she wouldn't have
If Emma were any other man's daughter, she would kill her father and that's it, she'd be condemned to the life of a common Amazon, eventually having to go after men to get pregnant, have a daughter she couldn't even choose a name and continue the tradition. Amazons don't have free will in the tribe, everything they do is according to the tribe, they do things according to what they're told - from what little we know of them -, but the story changes with Emma. Because her father is Dean Winchester, she would have something that others don't, the chance to choose
Some excerpts from the episode to solidify my thinking:
"[...] I have to kill you. (EMMA)
(DEAN) Is that what they told you?"
"(DEAN) You haven't killed anybody yet, Emma. Walk away. Right now. I won't go after you.
(EMMA) I can't. I don't have a choice."
If Emma had lived, I think Dean would have felt bad and guilty anyway, but at some point he might realize that him being her father didn't condemn her but freed her, made her life better because then she would have free will

Will forever be astonished that SPN had Sam shoot Dean's literal daughter point blank and then get mad at Dean for hesitating. And then never bring it up again.

Dean Winchester just birthed his own little Rigatoni and his brother (lover) killed her and that's still not even as weird as Breaking Dawn.
