Character Sheet: Cav
Tumblr media
CW for mentions of violence/death here and there
BASICS
Full name: Cian Amarante Cavanaugh
Nickname(s): Cav
Title(s): n/a, unless ‘old man’ or ‘actual dumpster fire’ count.
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Height: 6′6″
Age: Chronologically? Heck, bruh. Thousands of years old in any given verse. Physically stuck between late 30′s to mid 40′s which was around the age he was cursed.
Zodiac: shrug emoji
Spoken languages: Most fluent in English, Irish and Scots Gaelic, and French, both modern and some ancient variants. He is approximately conversational in many other languages, though there’s surely languages even he hasn’t encountered yet.
PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS
Hair color: Brown
Eye color: Black, or a very very very dark brown
Skin tone: Has a bit of an olive complexion
Body type: These days he’s rocking a bit of a dad bod. The muscle is there somewhere under a bit of pudge.
Voice: Singing Examples: [1] [2] [3] unfortunately I currently haven’t found a fitting example for his everyday speech, but hopefully this at least gets the general feel across!
Dominant hand: Right
Posture: Relaxed, tends to rest his weight on one side, droopy shoulders and casual lackadaisical gait
Scars: A gash over his heart is one scar he has in common between every verse, along with various battle scars. In his general fantasy verse he has a scar all the way around his neck from his first true ‘death’ by beheading.
Tattoos: None
Birthmarks: None
Most noticeable feature(s): Scruffy, appears a bit unkempt just about at all times. Never seen without his scarf or gloves.
CHILDHOOD
Place of birth: Near what’s now known as Postwick, Galar
Hometown: +gestures vaguely at galar+
Birth weight/height: What an oddly specific question. He was probably a bit of a chonker, above average birth weight. may his mother rest in peace
First words: an adorable attempt at saying rookidee, though it probably just came out as ‘wookie’
Siblings: Adoptive half-brother. He doesn’t know much of anything of his birth family. Some verses he has a twin sister, I should really flesh one of those out bc she’s just as much of a gremlin as he is.
Parents: Unknown and/or deceased. Death by backstory, they deserved better
Parental involvement: He doesn’t remember much before he was adopted, but he was raised with a lot of love and care by just about every set of parents he’s ever had in any verse.
Children: Also depends on the verse, tbh. Haven’t quite figured out how to go about it, hence why it may not be applicable to every verse, but... in theory, he has a daughter. She is a gorgeous eldritch abomination shaped like a lady and he couldn’t be more proud of her
Prominently: Cav was honestly pretty dense. He was happy and friendly and got along with everyone, but mostly just because he had no idea how some people around him didn’t like him. Ignorance is truly bliss
ADULT LIFE
Occupation: Oh, a bit of everything. In modern times he tends to taxi folk around.
Current residence: N/A, travels anywhere and everywhere.
Close friends: What’re thooooooooooooooose
Relationship status: Single in his pokeverse. Married or engaged in just about every other.
Financial status: A bit complicated. He probably has a slew of secret offshore accounts he’s built up over the years. Probably well off, just doesn’t really show it.
Criminal record: Well! He tries not to get caught because it’s terribly hard to explain why he has a record dating back centuries. Thankfully most just believe it to be a coincidence. He’s done so much freaking crime though, almost entirely petty stuff... maybe a bit of grand theft auto if he’s particularly bored. He loves cars. Oh, maybe even a touch of arson if he’s absolutely certain the target is abandoned and no one gets hurt.
Vices: Yes. If going by cardinal sins... sloth? Gluttony? A sadomasochistic blend of lust and wrath? Nothing like purposefully picking fights to get the everloving crap beat out of you to feel something while simultaneously draining the life of your attacker with every bit of direct contact. How thrilling!
SEX & ROMANCE
Sexual orientation: Straight? Probably? Mostly.
Preferred emotional role: submissive | dominant | switch
Preferred sexual role: submissive | dominant | switch | Doesn’t care
Libido: Lowkey. It’s definitely there but he typically just ignores it.
Turn ons: Loves elegant women, the more confident and authoritative the better. Though anyone’s welcome to stab him 28 times in the torso, that’ll definitely get him excited.
Turn offs: Ppl who chew with their mouth open. Close ya damn mouth. Not very into wild hairstyles or extreme body mods. In that aspect he’s a bit like a boring old man.
Love language: He can and will devolve into a lovestruck puppy. He can be a bit clingy, but more than anything he is just... completely and utterly devoted. Very touchy feely, lots of traditionally ‘romantic’ gifts like flowers and whatnot. Or even just little reminders that he’s thinking of his SO, like a brief text or a little sticky note where she’ll see it. Just wants to be with them as much as possible, even if they’re just silently existing in the same room doing their own thing.
Relationship tendencies: Will brag about his SO to anyone who will listen (and even to those who won’t, you can’t stop him). Probably carries 50 pictures of his SO in his wallet and gets choked up just thinking about them. Will take her to restaurants and be like ‘we’re celebrating our anniversary’ any part of the year whether its their anniversary or not and when called out on it he’ll just be like ‘i’m always celebrating us’ and sappy nonsense like that. (though he also absolutely says it for the free desserts a lot of places give out to couples on their anniversary, but that’s just a bonus)
MISCELLANEOUS
Character’s theme song(s): Slaps this playlist down. I honestly can’t just pick one, buuut... I’m particularly liking Burning Alive lately, it’s very fitting for him.
Hobbies to pass time: Ogling cars, writing absurd Yelp reviews for anywhere and everywhere he goes, hoarding pigeons in his coat and offering them to unsuspecting strangers, heckling golfers, heckling comedians, engaging in fisticuffs with geese, going to chinese restaurants to crack open the fortune cookies and only eat the paper fortune inside, general people watching. likes watching movies in the theater. if anyone uses their phone while the movie is going he will snap the phone in half and eat as much of it as he can to prove a point
Mental illnesses: Uh. Well. I mean. Honestly? I have no idea. If you asked him he’d say he’s totally fine.
Physical illnesses: None. Often pretends to be injured or disabled one way or another if it’ll get him something he wants.
Left or right brained: He has 0 braincells
Fears: Heights, small dogs. Not afraid of dragonfruit but deeply offended by its existence as it is nothing but a flamboyant kiwi with no integrity to flavor. On a more serious note, intimacy of any sort with anyone or anything. Falling for someone knowing that he’ll outlive them anyway.
Self-confidence level: Oh it’s up there. Probably. He’s super confident, even if he doesn’t think he’ll succeed that doesn’t mean he won’t try. Unstoppable. Trust me, people have tried 2 stop him and nothing works.
Vulnerabilities: Genuine compliments from cute girls. Genuine compliments from just about anyone. Children. Baby animals. Cute things in general. Bad jokes. Literally any form of intimacy will make him want to aliven’t because he doesn’t deserve it and he might just up and run away in the middle of a conversation if it starts getting genuinely sappy.

day one - pride
Rating: G Characters: Henry and Bendy Warnings: none Description: Henry reflects on the definition of labels and belonging in certain spaces.
Also on AO3!
---
WHO'S READY FOR THE INK DEMONTH 2021 I SURE ONCE AGAIN TOTALLY WAS YEP DEFINITELY NO LAST MINUTE ANYTHING HERE LET'S GO
Doing writing prompts again because this year has been A Lifetime and I just don't possess the ability to draw this time so let's go let's get stupid get weird enjoy the misadventures of a specific au of of Bendy and the Ink Machine where the toons are their own people in a world they still don't entirely understand and the people who love them who try to help them navigate it.
---
Henry was used to a surprising amount of things to interrupt his day first thing in the morning. Easily numbered in the hundreds. His children were toons; there was no end to the amount of crazy nonsense that they could get into when he was asleep, and that was disregarding the fact that Bendy usually slept until noon.
Sure, he was the Troublemaker In Chief. That did not mean the other two were paragons of holiness, no matter how much Alice tried glowing her halo at him while she and her brother gave him the saddest, biggest, shiniest puppy eyes. And that didn't even take into account how much trouble they could find, no mischief intended.
He'd seen smoldering breakfasts, pancakes on the ceiling, saran wrap around the kitchen archway, demonic rubber chicken noises from a saxophone that had a part replaced with the noisemaker from the novelty prank toy...
(He still didn't regret letting Boris chase Bendy for that one without intervening.)
With all that, being immediately accosted by three toons hanging off his legs the second he came down the stairs and all trying to talk to him at the same time did not magically get any easier to withstand.
"Whatever it is, it's a no until I get my coffee," he drawled as he attempted to walk with them hanging off him, the three of them dragged along with him. It was with quite some difficulty that he got to the kitchen counter.
"But Henry!" Bendy whined, "we only got a few hours to get ready if ya say yes! We need every second!"
"For what?" he yawned, pouring a cup from the machine.
"You don't know what day it is?" Alice was surprised enough to actually let go, and she dusted herself off like the lady she was before standing up.
Instantly something cold grabbed Henry's heart and squeezed. "Uh- no I...?"
Had he forgotten someone's birthday? No, it was summertime; Bendy was a winter 'birth' and Boris and Alice were spring and fall. An anniversary of some kind? Quick think what are you forgetting you useless-
"How!?" Bendy gaped at him from down below. "It's been all over the news fer weeks!"
Well okay now he was just thoroughly confused. "I um-"
"The parade, Henry!" Boris's tail was thumping gently against the floor; he was not trying one tiny ounce to hide his eagerness. "The parade that's today!"
"Parade-?" It took just one more nanosecond of thought before it clicked.
"Oh you mean the-!" And they wanted to go to it.
Well, he shouldn't be surprised. This would be the first parade they'd get to see, wouldn't it? And it was nice weather out. And it would be bursting with color, which the toons were darn near obsessed with.
He took a contemplative sip. They weren't human; god even knew if they had any sort of sexuality at all. Could they even feel that stuff? The urge to- do anything like that? Wouldn't that technically make them asexual? That was the word, right?
Well, human or not, that would solidly mean they belonged there. Queer was queer, regardless of species, right? Hell, even if they'd just started asking themselves those questions, or wanted to support the fans of theirs who fell under that giant umbrella, they were valid for being there.
"Sure, I can take you."
Both boys cheered, lifting their arms to do so and releasing his legs. He quickly took a step away from them, but their joy had them leaping to their feet anyway and he watched as they bounced around the kitchen, slowly draining his coffee and trying to curb his smile when he was actively drinking.
It was a hard task.
Their excited chatter melted pleasantly into the background as he took the time to drink and try to shake his brain awake the rest of the way awake like shaking out an old blanket to coax out the wrinkles. Their enthusiasm always made for the perfect background noise.
"What colors do you want?"
"I dunno! There's so many! I don' even know what label I fit in-"
"I saw you checkin' out that guy the other day don't think I didn't!" The wink and nudge from Bendy sent Boris blushing so hard the poor wolf's face turned nearly as black as his fur.
"I was hopin' you hadn't-"
They were all quick to consume breakfast, and Henry retreated upstairs after telling the toons to come get him when they wanted to leave.
He settled comfortably in the limitless, timeless space of art before reality came knocking with Bendy's distinctive tapping at the door, pulling Henry from the space inbetween something and nothing as he set his pen aside. "Come in, kiddo."
When Bendy stepped in with what was unmistakably a rainbow flag on his cheek and extra face paint he knew he was in for a time.
"Oh uh- what's that for-"
"For you!" Bendy said with a giant grin. "Who'd ya think?"
He rubbed the back of his neck. "Ah well- I uh-"
Bendy didn't slow down. "Anyway the others are about ready to go but they sent me up here to get your flag on while they finish up- now why they trusted me with the paint I got about as much an idea as you but hey I'm not gonna complain-"
"Aw that's- that's sweet kiddo but I sorta figured I'd just be-" How to say this. "Dropping you off...?"
Immediate confusion. "What? Why?"
"Uh well- I mean-" He fiddled with the pen- when had that ended up back in his hands? "You guys- you have a space there, you know? I'm not sure if I-"
There was now a puckered frown on the little devil's face. "Not sure if you what?"
"Well I mean- I don't exactly- belong, now do I?"
The frown multiplied its intensity by about five. "What's that supposed to mean?"
Aw jeez. He really did not want to discuss this with his kid, as much of an adult as Bendy was. For many reasons. "Uh well- you know-" He gestured, as if hoping that would somehow pluck the answer from the air and implant it in Bendy's brain without having to give voice to it, setting the pen down in the process so he’d stop playing with it. "I'm not exactly- I mean-"
"You like guys." Bendy's voice was so sure that Henry knew making any sort of denial was futile. And also kind of stupid. Why would he deny that to his own son? No of course he wouldn't.
"Well I mean- I married a woman, didn't I?" he finally blurted out.
Unimpressed blinking as he drew closer to stand beside the desk. "Yeah they got a word for that. Several actually. Most popular ones are bi and pan, so which colors is it gonna be?"
"No no I mean-" God he was probably blushing. His face definitely felt way too hot. "I uh- I mean I- I like guys, yes-" great brain thanks a ton totally needed that heart rate spiking why are you acting like that's scary this is our kid- "but I- I married a woman- I like women- more often?"
The blinking was now confused.
"Uh-" How to phrase this. "If- if we split it into a pie chart- it's probably like... thirty-seventy in favor of women?" He ran his fingers through his hair and down the back of his neck again. "I'm- not that I'm any great catch but like, if I was in any way qualified to be in the dating pool again, I'd be way more likely to end up with a lady."
The unimpressed look was back. "And?"
It was Henry's look to be surprised. "And- and that means that, you know- I'm not really-"
"You like guys."
"I- yeah?"
"And you're a guy."
"Kind of a given at this point."
"So you're a guy, and you like guys, and just also happen to like girls too. We got names for that." He gave Henry's shirt an appraising look. "Gotta say the bi colors would complement your clothes best. If you want pan colors I'm gonna have to ask you to change. As your official fashion consultant."
Henry snorted. "My what?"
"Listen Dad I love you but I ain't about to let you walk into that parade wearing like, a pineapple hawaiian shirt or nothin'."
Henry banged a fist lightly on the table and pointed at him. "Liar! You wore the exact same thing just the other day!"
"Yeah but that was to the beach, not a parade."
"Literally when have you ever cared about not being a fashion disaster."
"This time, when Alice'll actually kill me otherwise."
"... Okay you got me there."
Bendy grinned. "So, bi colors or pan colors! Or somethin' else? I think there's other ones too."
He opened his mouth, closed it again and then opened it. What the hell. "... Bi colors, I guess."
"Yesssssss I was hopin' you'd say that." He hopped over onto the table like he'd suddenly become a bunny.
"Oh you were, huh?"
"Listen, the pan folks got pretty colors, but I'm always a sucker for a sunset," he said as he pulled out the pallet he needed. Henry sighed and shook his head, the smile ruining his effort to look exasperated.
"Well. Sunset me then, I guess."
"You got it boss!" Bendy said in maybe the worst mafia minion accent known to mankind.
It was barely five minutes of Bendy painting lines carefully on his cheek before he whipped out a mirror.
"Tah-dah!"
Henry blinked at himself in the mirror. He tilted his head, something shifting inside his heart that he had no name for, no way to voice.
The once proud look on Bendy's face was swiftly dropping. "... I didn't mess it up, did I...?"
"No- no, no." Henry tilted his head. "I uh..."
Bendy's worried browlines screamed anxiety to him.
"... I guess I just look good in a sunset," he said quietly, seeing the little corner of his reflection's mouth turn up as if in some sort of hazy dream.
Better than I thought.

Torment
I am sad, therefore, I have written angst.  Enjoy the pain, yo!

--------------------------------
Drakken stood on the balcony of his apartment in Japan, looking out at the light pollution that blocked the view of the stars from the sky. He was glad for it. He felt he could live the rest of his life without seeing the stars again.
When the vibration of his PDA indicated an email he looked down and noted first, his boss was scheduling an emergency staff meeting in the morning, and second, that it was past midnight. He closed the PDA and stood with a yawn and a long stretch that made the bones in his back crack. Yet another night spent awake far beyond the time he would need to go to bed to get a healthy-night's sleep. Yet another night spent...lamenting his life.
After he had changed into his pajamas and crawled into bed, he began punching the tiny buttons of his PDA's keyboard in reply to his boss.
"Hi Mr. Nakasumi,
"I see that I neglected to mark tomorrow as a personal day on my calendar. I always take June 16th off and I need—
Drakken paused in his composing and deleted the last line, thinking for a moment.
"I need June 16th off every year. I'm so sorry for the late notice but I won't be able to attend the meeting.
Sincerely, Drew Lipsky"
He read over the brief and matter-of-fact email a few times, grateful for the ability to choose words carefully in written communication before hitting send. And after it was done he set the PDA on his nightstand and lay on his back in his bed, dropping the back of one hand over his eyes.
How could he have been so foolish as to forget to block out the date on his calendar?
He felt a familiar and warm sliding sensation as the parasitic mutant vine that was attached to his spinal cord slithered out of its sheath within his back. Drakken lowered his hand and watched the pink flower bloom and hover above his head, as if asking him a question. Drakken scowled at it.
"You could have reminded me, you know!"
The flower jerked slightly, as if indignant to Drakken's scolding. Just then the PDA vibrated on the nightstand. Drakken sighed silently and the flower moved over as if immune to gravity, the vine coiling around the small electronic device before bringing it the short distance to Drakken's hand. He flipped up the cover and opened the new email from his boss.
"We need you at the meeting. I'm sorry, but you didn't block out the date."
Not even signed. Drakken closed the device with a scowl and tossed it aside on his mattress before throwing back the bedcovers and sitting up, running his fingers anxiously through his hair.
He glanced at the TV, with its promise of old sitcom re-runs and bad infomercials. He glanced down the hall toward his kitchen, where peanut butter stickies, cocoa-moo, and practically any number of gluttonous delights awaited. He looked at the computer sitting on his desk, with its beckoning of Minesweeper or solitaire.
He stood and walked back to his balcony, pushing the doors open roughly before stepping out into the slight chill of the night air. The sounds of traffic and city life that had been slightly muffled by the walls were suddenly very present, almost crushing to Drakken's ears. He stepped all the way to the railing and peered down.
Nine storeys. He was nine storeys up.
It wasn't quite enough for the blue splat he desired. He turned away with a disgusted scowl and headed back indoors.
The flower tapped his cheek then as if reminding Drakken of its presence. When he turned to look at it, it appeared as though the bloom was judging him.
"Don't give me that look! This is all your fault!"
And it was the flower's fault. Without the flower, he wouldn't have saved the world. He might also be dead, but... He was more and more frequently coming to the conclusion that dead would be better.
He left the bedroom and headed down the hall to the kitchen, as if he could somehow escape the flower. But he knew...it would always be there. As if he needed the reminder.
In the kitchen he opened the fridge and stared at its contents. There wasn't...anything he wanted. He closed it again and set his forehead against the smooth white door.
He felt the flower move again as if trying to look at him. When Drakken dared glance to the side it was indeed there, staring and questioning if it was capable of those things. Drakken wondered briefly if it did have a sentience, as he'd wondered so many times over the years. But his genius had been too much for even him to decipher, and so he was stuck with a mutant plant parasite, and the world was protected by its many minions.
"What do you want?" he asked the flower. It only continued to face him. "You know I would be better off if you weren't around? I should have just let the doctors try to operate... I'd be better off dead, than...than..."
He trailed off as he closed his eyes and turned his face back into the cool door of the refrigerator.
The morning was going to be hell.
He cringed as he realized he could have just called in sick and no one would have been the wiser. But now that he'd requested the personal day and his boss knew, he couldn't.
"Nghhyah!" he roared out, causing the flower to quickly retreat. He lifted his fists and slammed them into the fridge door, and then turned and set them on his kitchen counter. He bent his aching back forward and rested his forehead on his fists as he tried to figure out what to do.
June 16th. He couldn't work on June 16th. He couldn't do anything on June 16th. And now he had no choice, and it was nearing one o'clock in the morning, and he had to wake up at five, and—
He took a slow breath. Maybe...it was better. Maybe falling asleep during whatever meeting was suddenly so important, and then doing a lack-lustre job for the rest of the day would be enough distraction. It wasn't as if he'd ever found adequate distraction enough in years past, staying home or going out.
Drakken sighed and stood, his aged back protesting even the brief time in the hunched position, and turned to go back to his bedroom. Another night staring at his ceiling fan and wondering where he had gone wrong seemed to be his only option.
He lay down in his bed again, his PDA falling forgotten to the floor as he adjusted his blankets, and then stared wide-eyed at the spinning device on the ceiling that kept the air moving.
June 16th wasn't where he had gone wrong. It was somewhere between that date, and ten days prior—the day he had accepted a medal at the United Nations, and then a pardon.
She... She had smiled at him. She hadn't even been that mad about his vine spinning around them and pulling them tightly together, the image a paparazzo's dream.
Was it later when so many magazines printed that image on the cover? She had looked increasingly startled by them each time a new one came in the mail, but otherwise...he didn't know what she thought. She'd never said a word about them.
Was it after that, when he had told her he was going to take the job with their one-time victim in Japan? A six-figure salary and state-of-the-art technology was hard to argue with, especially when he had learned that it wasn't toys he was making; no, he was to be part of one of the lesser-known branches of the conglomerate that dealt with cybertronics. It was a dream come true!
She had sounded...interested. She'd asked him all sorts of questions about it, at the time. She had even agreed it was the best choice between all of the other offers he had received. She had been completely supportive.
So had he said something wrong...on the night of the fifteenth? It had been her idea to watch movies together. She'd even...
Drakken felt tears running down the sides of his face as he stared up at his ceiling fan, which was slightly shaking in an oscillating pattern one would only notice if they were looking.
She'd even asked him to make cocoa-moo.
They had had fun.
Drakken quickly got up and sat on his heels, bending his face over the bed as his tears fell in large, hot droplets and dampened the blankets.
"What did I do wrong?" he choked out.
After a few heaving breaths he turned his bleary eyes and peered through the dark at his nightstand. The vine emerged from his back again, knowing his thoughts before he even had them, and moved slowly to the nightstand drawer and pulled it open. The flower scooped out the small folded paper that was the drawer's only content and carefully brought it to Drakken, presenting it almost reverently.
Drakken lifted the paper off of the pink petals with shaking hands. It was a receipt; old, and dated back to March of 2006. He'd long ago memorized what was on it. 'Hot stone massage and salt glow package - $140 - Mount Olympus Spa.' Not that that mattered. Or did it? No, it didn't. It was just a piece of paper she had found.
He unfolded the thin receipt and read the words she had penned boldly on the back. He had found the note on her pillow the day after their movie night. June 16th.
'Going solo. Have fun in Japan. —Shego'
Below the words was the imprint of her black lipstick that shone with an iridescent green he had discovered the one time he had looked at the note in sunlight.
He didn't need to see it. He had memorized everything about it long ago: the way she pressed the pen more firmly on downward strokes than upward; the way she didn't quite dot her 'i' but made more of a careless slash above the vowel; the way her lower lip had pressed more firmly than the upper, and how her lips had been slightly parted when she left the final sign of her presence in his life.
He had stared at the note for more hours than was healthy. And if anyone knew he still had it after three years, they would probably say he was losing his mind.
Well...they wouldn't exactly be wrong.
June 16th. She never came out of her room that day. And then he had found the note.
She had just...vanished. Completely. As if off the face of the Earth.
Japan had been willing to wait for him since he was a 'world hero,' and he'd spent months doing nothing but looking for her. He tried every villain connection he had, including those he was on bad terms with. He tried requesting help of government agencies, who were happy to help since he was a 'world hero.' He had finally and desperately asked for help from Kim Possible. But even her computer whiz kid couldn't find Shego. No sightings. No security recordings. No crime reports. She was just...gone.
He folded the note carefully and leaned over to place it back in the drawer, a muscle in his neck spasming as he did so. He winced as he pushed the drawer closed and then sat up slowly, reaching a hand back to massage the aching muscle.
Possible would call in the morning. He would probably miss the call, since he would be yawning through a meeting. But if he was able to take her call, he knew exactly how it would go. He would hold his breath and ask the question. And she would answer sadly that no, there was still no trace of his former side-kick anywhere. Drakken knew without a doubt, that would be the answer. Because Possible wouldn't wait for the anniversary of her disappearance to call if she'd found her.
Drakken stood up and straightened his pajamas and then smoothed out his blankets. He glanced at the TV with its promise of pay-per-view and violent movies. He looked at the hallway to the kitchen where he kept various bottles of spirits that he'd barely ever touched in his villain years. He turned toward the computer on his desk where Internet pornography beckoned.
With a shaking yawn, he crossed the room and stepped out onto his balcony once more. He looked up at the sky that should have been black and dotted with stars, but was instead a golden-gray; nature's beauty interrupted by the ever-present hum of humanity. But he didn't mind.
He could live the rest of his life without ever seeing the stars again.
He brought his gaze down as he stepped to the railing of the balcony and looked over.
Nine storeys. Not enough for the blue splat he desired.
Or, well...perhaps.
Drakken turned back and headed inside, closing the doors behind him. He stared around his darkened apartment again, his gaze finally resting on the ceiling fan as he crawled back upon his bed and lie down, not bothering to slide under the covers.
The flower rose up on its vine and blocked his view of the spinning object on the ceiling. Somehow it looked compassionate, though he still wasn't sure how it could have emotions or how he could know what they were. Its soft petals came down to his cheeks and began drying his tears.
Drakken scoffed at its effort. The flower would be at the task all night.

Principle Decisions [19/?]
Rating: Explicit
Pairing: Zelda Spellman/Lilith
Summary: Zelda nodded, feeling herself squirm as Lilith’s hand slid around her waist, her mouth coming to brush over her ear, “you look starving, wouldn’t you like to eat out, tonight?”
N.B.: Also posted on AO3. This is pure fantasy, please suspend your disbelief.
Zelda awoke on the sheepskin, her arm around Marie’s waist. She was exhausted and for a moment, uncertain as to why she’d awoken until she felt the chill of the evening wash over her, the absence of a warm body at her back. Turning to look over her shoulder, she noticed Lilith standing up behind her.
Before rising to her feet, she carefully extracted herself from Marie and took Lilith’s outstretched hand, following her into the bathroom.
There, she helped Lilith undress from her clothes, before both of them stepped into the shower. A quiet settling between them as Zelda took the soap and washed over Lilith’s body, admiring the bite marks and bruises inflicted from her and Marie. When she was done, Lilith took the soap and washed her over as well.
As she was drawing the soap down her thighs, Zelda felt her heartbeat pause, her teeth coming out to bite her bottom lip.
“Zelda?” Lilith asked, “Are you okay?”
She nodded, uncertain about how to admit the truth. How could she tell her how chest ached, how her heart squeezed and how desperately she wanted to say the words?
If she said the words and Lilith gently reminded her of her place, the anxiety that they weren’t together, not really, would weigh over her thoughts for whatever remained of their relationship. It would ruin what they have.
How could she ever tell Lilith?
Lilith set the soap aside and then drew her into her arms, pulling her firmly against her chest. Zelda’s eyes squeezed shut just as she thought about sinking into it, letting the woman’s hands draw over her, but she couldn’t.
She couldn’t love Lilith. She couldn’t.
But she did.
“Do you want me to take you home?”
“No, no, I’ll help. I’ll––“
“I’ll take you home,” Lilith said. “You don’t have to return to your family unless you want to, you can stay at my house until Minion and I clean-up the worse of the mess. And then we can go from there. Get some sleep, maybe eat?“
Zelda nodded, only because she didn’t want to face returning home just yet, but knew that she couldn’t be around Lilith for too long while her emotions clawed up her throat.
Out of the shower, Lilith wrapped a robe around herself and pulled Zelda into a towel, and then she shuffled her back to the bedroom where Zelda dressed in some of her clothes from last night, holding onto the fiddly parts she couldn’t be bothered to put on again.
“Leaving?” Marie asked with a yawn as she turned on the sheepskin to look at her.
“I am.”
“I’ll see you tonight then?”
Zelda nodded, recalling that Marie’s event was to be hosted that night. “I’ll see you then,” she agreed. Marie smiled at her before she rose, dressing as well. Zelda could hear the soft sounds drifting from downstairs as people awoke and left. Likely, Lilith was finding Minion to instruct him on what needed to be done.
Padding downstairs, she watched as Lilith grabbed her keys and then smiled at Zelda. It was soft and sweet like she was happy to see her, despite them only just seeing each other moments before.
“Come on,” she said, lacing their fingers together, and then Lilith was taking her outside, guiding her into her car before she moved into the driver’s seat.
“Are you sure you’re fine to drive?”
“I am,” Lilith assured. “But it’s nice of you to ask.”
“I’m concerned about my safety,” Zelda scoffed, sinking into the seat. She tossed a look to Lilith, watching as Lilith’s lips curled in amusement before she shifted the car into gear.
As the car pulled onto the road, Zelda felt the heaviness of exhaustion drift over her. Her limbs were heavy, her body ached, but she felt clean at the very least, which was something. There had been more lube between the three of them than Zelda had probably experienced in a lifetime.
“How do you feel today?” Lilith asked.
“Good, sore,” Zelda advised, shifting awkwardly. The soreness was expected, and nothing felt unusual. Overall, she just felt tired. “I enjoyed myself if that’s what you’re trying to ask.”
“It was,” Lilith said. “I…am pleased that you attended.” And then there was a silence before Lilith drew in a sharp intake of breath. “Do you have plans for the rest of the day?”
“Marie’s speaking in the lecture hall tonight. Will you be attending?”
“Should I?”
Zelda nodded, “You promised that you would seduce me with your knowledge in the arts.”
Lilith paused and then laughed. “I believe that was with regards to the girlfriend experience. Is this meant to be a girlfriend experience?”
Zelda felt her heartbeat at the words. She’d always despised the words boy or girl to denote a paramour, there was something entirely juvenile about it, and yet she couldn’t hide the fact that the context of the words sent a thrill down her spine. A very dangerous thrill that would lead her to a world of hurt should she pursue it. “We’re friends,” Zelda said. “Friends go to art talks together.”
“I see.” A silence pulled between them again, and Zelda peered over at her. Lilith’s expression was masked, which meant she was hiding something––whether it was relief or pain, Zelda had no idea. Perhaps she’d somehow managed to offend her.
Perhaps Lilith wanted to be her girlfriend. Zelda shifted her eyes away, feeling the thoughts curl in her.
“What time is the talk?” Lilith asked.
“Seven. We can get dinner after if you like?”
At that, Lilith smirked at her. “An art talk and dinner, are you sure you’re not trying to seduce me?”
“I’m always trying to seduce you,” Zelda teased, looking over at her.
“Mm, well, I shouldn’t be long. You can make yourself at home and go to sleep upstairs. By the time you’re refreshed, I should be back home, and you can tell me more about this seduction.”
“Wonderful. Then you can make lunch.”
“We’ll see about that,” Lilith laughed.
They arrived at the house, and Lilith unlocked the door for them both before she headed upstairs and changed her leather jacket for a dress. Zelda stood awkwardly in the bedroom, trying not to focus on how lovely Lilith looked as she sat at her dresser and removed her make-up. And then, she was switching her heels and grabbing Zelda by the hips, kissing her softly on the lips. “I’ll be back soon,” she promised. “Did you want me to take this off?” she asked, touching at the collar.
Zelda swallowed, reaching up to touch the leather. “If you don’t mind,” she said, before turning around.
Lilith unbuckled the collar, gently taking it off before she set it down on the dresser, and then she was reaching for Zelda again, her lips pressing over Zelda’s neck until Zelda felt a low laugh building in her throat. “Careful,” Zelda warned, “I might pull you to bed.”
“Mm, I better be quick then,” Lilith said, and then she was pressing a goodbye kiss to her lips before she was disappearing out of the bedroom.
Then she was gone, the door was shut, the car sounding before it left the driveway and Zelda was left tracing where Lilith’s lips had touched.
She wandered downstairs, fixing her self a cup of tea and a piece of toast, her thoughts heavy about last night.
She had enjoyed herself, from the opening ceremony to the threesome, there hadn’t been a moment she hadn’t enjoyed. When she’d thought about the orgy, she’d expected to participate in a more vigorous group sex section with everyone else, but the softness of being with Marie, pressed against Lilith was preferred.
She couldn’t deny that she wasn’t somewhat intrigued to see the woman again later that night. Her and Lilith had been an undeniable team and to be pressed between them again would be more than pleasurable.
Zelda drifted around the house. Tidying up after herself before she walked upstairs and attempted to sleep, only to be plagued by her own emotional awareness of herself.
She loved Lilith.
The thought fluttered and then sunk inside of her. If she was to tell her, everything would change in their relationship. If Lilith felt the same, and dearly, Zelda hoped she did, then it would mean having to be upfront and honest with her family.
And if Zelda was honest, she wasn’t ready to do that. For now, Lilith was hers. Hers to have and hold. Once she spoke to her family, then Lilith would be shared, and they would insist on gathered events where there was every opportunity they could be their overbearing selves, pushing their thoughts and perceptions of Zelda onto Lilith until Lilith began to notice how shallow Zelda could be, how self-absorbed and focused on her work until she decided she didn’t want any of that.
No, it was best if she kept the feelings to herself for now. What they had worked. She didn’t need her family inserting themselves into that narrative, she didn’t need Lilith to say she loved her––if she even did. And she didn’t need the rejection, if Lilith didn’t feel the same way, or didn’t want the same thing.
They were happy as they were, and right now, all of Zelda’s needs were being met. The holidays would end soon, but that would be after her birthday, right now, things were peaceful.
She felt dreams pull at her as she finally fell into a restless sleep, and then she was being awoken by shifting in the bed beside her, “go back to sleep,” Lilith whispered, curling up against her. “We’ll rest for an hour, and then you can make me a late lunch.”
“I’m not going to make––“
Lilith’s hand reach out, pressing against her lips. “Shh, sleeping.”
Zelda glared at the woman, but relented, feeling as the hand slipped around her waist, Lilith’s face nuzzling against her shoulder.
The touch almost burned, but as Lilith’s breaths slowed to a long, even measure, Zelda’s eyes fluttered shut as well, drifting back asleep. It was easier this time as if something had been missing before.
She awoke to Lilith stirring on her shoulder, the woman’s mouth dragging against her skin, and then Zelda felt as the hand drifted down to her hip, fingers brushing over her thigh.
Zelda sighed, turning to glance at her and watched as Lilith’s eyes opened, peering up at her as if asking permission.
“Lunch,” Zelda said.
Lilith sighed and rolled onto her back. “Fine,” she huffed. “But you’re helping me.”
“So be it.”
Together, they drew downstairs, shuffling around the kitchen to put a meal as Lilith sat in a robe half open and Zelda sat in a nightgown she’d pilfered from Lilith’s belongings.
It was utterly lazy. And as Zelda sipped at her tea, she couldn’t help but revel in how much she enjoyed.
When appropriately satiated, she took their plates and cups and began washing up as Lilith sat back, finishing her tea.
It was as her hands were in the sink that Lilith came up behind her, chin setting on her shoulder, lips brushing against the shell of her ear as she drew her hands onto her hips. “You can dry if you’re going to hover.”
“They can air dry,” Lilith said as she began drawing up Zelda’s nightgown.
“I would have thought that last night would have left you satiated,” Zelda commented as she placed a dish onto the rack.
“From you? Never.”
Zelda drew her hands from the water, taking the tea towel to wipe them dry as she turned around to face Lilith. “It’s late, we should be looking at getting…” she trailed off as Lilith began kissing down her jawline and throat. “Getting ready…”
“We have time,” Lilith whispered, and then her hands were drawing up the dressing gown, and Zelda could hardly fight it, allowing the material to slip over her body. She was right, they had time.
She allowed the gown to slip above her head, drop to the ground, and then Lilith was kissing her, hands on her hips as she led her to the counter that was clear of any drying dishes. Lilith’s hands were warm, and Zelda sighed as they drew down, slipping around the back of her thighs before she was hoisted up onto the bench.
“Show-off,” she murmured against Lilith’s lips, feeling her legs part to allow the woman to step between them.
“You love it,” Lilith said. “I bet you’ve already made a mess on my counter.”
“You should find out for yourself,” Zelda said, watching as Lilith pulled back to smirk at her. She felt Lilith’s fingers slip over the thigh, sliding down across her sex and stroking over her firmly. Zelda leant back on the counter, hips pushing forward to the edge of it. Lilith’s touch was soft and gentle, drawing over the folds as if she was planning on teasing her.
Zelda didn’t mind, it was the kind of lazy Sunday sex that she could melt into, her breaths coming in slow, deep exhales, before her eyes fluttered, looking at Lilith.
There was a low fluttering feeling, spilling through her chest as Lilith stroked at her sex, circling around her clit. Zelda wrapped her fingers on the edge of the countertop, hips rocking over the touch as she bit her lip.
She could feel the words I love you, building in her throat as Lilith watched her, eyes sparkling.
Zelda’s eyes squeezed shut as she felt her thighs tremble, her knuckles turning white as she clutched at the counter. “Lilith,” she exhaled.
This wasn’t kink. This was sex, pure, unadulterated sex. There were cheek kisses and mouth kisses and lazy, throat kisses. She was in love, deeply, ardently in love with Lilith and yet as she blinked her eyes open, feeling her body clench with the coming orgasm, she watched as Lilith looked at her with fascination.
And Zelda wondered if she loved her too.
“God!” she gasped, and her head dropped back, Lilith’s fingers drew away as the orgasm trembled through her. Zelda closed her eyes briefly, feeling a string of emotions too tight building in her.
“Zelda?” Lilith asked softly.
“I’m okay,” she nodded. “Tired,” she admitted and smiled at her.
“If you like, we can probably sleep for another––“
“Can I touch you?” Zelda asked.
Lilith paused, blinking. “Of course you can, I’m right here,” she said, and her hand dropped over Zelda’s own.
Zelda’s fingers lifted, lacing in them. “No, I mean, you’re always pulling away, or tying me up or distracting me with sex, and I enjoy those things, but…I want you. I want to have sex with you,” she said, making her point clear. There was a shyness to herself, and she wasn’t sure if it came from how eagerly she wanted it or an insecurity building in her that Lilith did not want her.
Zelda watched as Lilith’s expression pinched. “You want to fuck me?”
“No, yes, I mean, that too but I want…I want to taste you and touch you and yes, fuck you. I want to be the cause of you saying my name.”
“You are,” Lilith assured and her fingers squeezed around Zelda’s. “You don’t have to prove anything to me.”
“It’s not about proving myself, I…” Zelda pulled her hand away and then shifted at Lilith until she stepped back, allowing her to drop down onto the floor. “Why would you think I need to prove myself? Should I be proving something?”
At that, Lilith’s eyes narrowed before she looked away. “No, nothing like that,” she said. “Zelda, I haven’t allowed anyone to touch me like that for a very long time,” she admitted, and a look of conflict spread across her face. “If that’s what you want––“
“No,” Zelda said, cutting her short. “No, I want it, but I want you to want it, too.”
Lilith bit her lip, and for the first time, Zelda realised how small the woman was. She appeared shy, her domineering energy shrinking as she pulled in to herself. And then she drew in a breath and seemed to forcefully relax. “I do,” she admitted, “But not today. If we’re going to have sex like that, I don’t want to be watching the clock to make sure we’re not late to an event.”
Zelda softened as her heart pulled in her chest. “What are you doing this Friday?”
“I imagine…sitting at home and ordering Pizza,” Lilith advised. “It’s Christmas after all.”
Zelda blinked. “You’re not spending Christmas with anyone?”
“No, why would I?”
“Because it’s Christmas. Shouldn’t you be spending it with family and friends?”
Lilith shook her head. “I’ve spent many Christmases alone, Zelda. It’s not all it’s worked up to be.”
Zelda felt her heart in the throat, the meaning in the subtext of the words. Lilith didn’t have anyone to spend it with.
“No. You’re coming to my house on Friday. Sabrina is having her holidays with a friend, so we’ll have an extra plate anyway.” She watched as Lilith’s expression shifted to argue before glaring it down. “It wasn’t a request,” she advised hotly––which was more effective than she expected given that she was standing naked in Lilith’s kitchen with wet thighs.
“I see. Well, how can I refuse an order like that?”
“You can’t,” she said. “Now, we need to get dressed before we’re late for this, and given that I need to be there early, we can not be late.”
“As you wish,” Lilith said. And it was like all the awkwardness from the moments before had passed, and Lilith’s hands touched cupped her face, a smile on her mouth as she leant forward and kissed Zelda sweetly. “And do tell me what you plan on wearing because as I recall, your only clothes are quite ruined.”
Zelda swallowed. Ah, she realised she hadn’t thought that far ahead.
“Well, I’m sure we can find something in my wardrobe, though you’ll owe me.”
“And what does owing you look like?” Zelda asked. But Lilith only smiled as she led Zelda upstairs.
As it was, even though Zelda had wider hips and Lilith had a more prominent bust, there was a skirt and blouse combination found that was suitable enough, with a high collar (and after one glance in the mirror, she needed it).
Zelda fixed her hair and used Lilith’s lipstick and eye make-up to fix herself before she deemed herself suitable.
And then, within the next hour, they were at the University. Prudence had messaged her earlier to let her know that she could not make it due to a family emergency but assured everything was organised. Zelda sent back a polite message, thanking Prudence for all her help.
She couldn’t help but think it had something to do with Faustus but set the thought aside. It wasn’t her business.
Zelda led Lilith to her office first, rummaging through her drawers for the keys to the lecture hall as Lilith circled the room, picking up books and flicking through them before she began playing with the knick-knacks and photos in the office.
“Must you touch everything?”
“Well, there are other things I’d prefer to touch in this office, but you said we were pressed for time.”
Zelda paused, looking from the clock to Lilith. They could… She shook her head. “We are,” she said. “And there’s plenty of time in the world for that later."
Lilith set the photo frame down. “Are you certain?”
Zelda gave her a look, eyebrows raising and watched as Lilith smirked at her. Thankfully, with her keys in grip, Zelda was able to exit out of the office and lead them both down to where the lecture hall was.
It didn’t take long to set up, and by the time that Marie had arrived, people had begun to enter the room, heading to the seats in the front row to await the start of the talk.
Zelda, usually pleased with people who arrived early, found herself annoyed by it, and it took a pause to self-reflect and realise that she’d hoped for herself and Lilith to speak with Marie again––possibly invite her out to dinner with them both.
When Marie placed her laptop down, Zelda greeted her, flushing as she felt Lilith step up beside her. “Zelda, Lilith,” Marie purred. “Don’t you two look simply good enough to eat, hmm?”
Zelda hummed, biting her lip and looked to Lilith.
Lilith looked at ease, though she had her hands folded before her as if she was trying to remember to keep them to herself.
“Everything’s set up,” Zelda confirmed. “Lilith and I will sit over in the back there,” Zelda pointed. It was to allow the attendants to actually have a chance to sit close to Marie and give Zelda access to where the light panel was. “Did you need or want anything, otherwise?”
“Not at all, I have everything I require,” she said, giving a small nod. “You’ve been most helpful, Zelda. Thank you.”
Zelda scoffed. “I hardly did anything, but thank you.”
She then pulled away with Lilith, moving to the back seat and watching as the rest of the hall filled. There were more people than she expected, but less than the social media event expected, though it didn’t come as a surprise. It was nearing Christmas, people had other things on their mind rather than local art talk.
Marie set-up easily, without any issues, allowing her to begin at the set time. As she began to speak, Zelda dimmed the room's lights to ensure that the focus was solely on her. Then she moved to sit back down, beside Lilith and listened attentively to Marie speak.
Her attention remained focused for all of five minutes before she felt Lilith’s hand settle on her knee, before sliding up, underneath the skirt.
“Your hands are cold,” Zelda whispered.
“Mm, I know,” Lilith said, sliding her hand up higher. “Might need you to warm them for me.”
Zelda flushed at that but spread her thighs anyway. There was no one in their row, or the two rows before them, with everyone choosing to sit in the first few rows.
Lilith’s fingers drew playfully on her thigh, swirling patterns and letters to tease her. As Zelda listed to Marie speak about the human form, and then the female orgasm in-depth, she found herself taken away by Lilith’s fingers as they slid up higher, drawing over the seam in her underwear.
At the firm touch, the words of the lecture drifted entirely away from her.
“I could make you come, right here,” Lilith said, stroking firmly over the material. “It would match well to Marie’s lecture on orgasms.” Zelda nodded, agreeing as she bit her lip. “But you are so loud when you come,” and then her fingers pulled away and Zelda whimpered as she inhaled a low, deep breath, trying to stop herself from gasping.
“Lilith,” Zelda said, looking over at her in the darkness.
“Yes?”
Lilith shook her head, turning away. She couldn’t say the words, not here when she was meant to be working. But God, she wanted those fingers back inside of her.
Instead, she sighed and shifted in her seat, feeling Lilith’s hand grow warm as she kept it pressed between her thighs. “We could sneak away for a few minutes when the lecture has finished?”
“How long are a few minutes?” Zelda asked.
“No more than five.”
“You think you can fuck me in five minutes?”
“I know I can,” Lilith said, turning and look at her like it was a challenge. “I could probably do it in two, but I want to enjoy it.”
Zelda bit her tongue and looked away. “Five minutes,” she agreed.
The lecture ended, and with it, Zelda went down and thanked Marie for speak, before confirming to the audience that there were food and drinks in the opposing room, giving time for people to speak with Marie. People drifted, picking at the food and began networking as expected. And when Zelda noticed that Marie was deeply involved in a conversation, Zelda took Lilith’s hand and tugged her away, down the hall.
There was a small room that she pulled her into, usually used for the final year subjects when class sizes were only about twenty or less. It had a whiteboard that looked over the 'u' shape of seat to seat forty people. Closing the door behind her, she glanced at Lilith and watched as the woman’s eyes traced over the room, apparently thinking about all the things she could do.
“Five minutes,” Zelda reminded, pointing to the clock on the wall. "Then we have to back in there.”
Lilith nodded, taking Zelda’s hand and pulling her into one of the student seats. “I feel like the next time we’re here, there’s a chance for us to role-play with Professor Zelda Spellman.”
“Mm, I would never sleep with my students, though.”
“Not even if they were as attractive as me?” Lilith asked, leaning forward to kiss her. “I’ll be a model student.”
“I don’t sleep with my students. It’s immorally wrong and goes against the codes and conducts of the school.”
“Fine,” Lilith huffed, “and here I thought we could engage in some fun.”
“Four minutes,” Zelda said and watched as Lilith sunk to her knees. “I can grade you if that will help?”
“Oh, please, Professor Spellman.” Zelda rolled her eyes, but as her hips shifted and Lilith drew down her underwear, she found it difficult to argue. She gripped at the arms of the chair and shifted to the edge of the seat as Lilith parted her legs and then pressed her tongue against Zelda’s sex.
Zelda thought she might tease until she felt Lilith’s fingers pressed inside of her hard and fast as her tongue made quick work of teasing her clit. Zelda was gasping within seconds, and then her back was arching, hands gripping at the seats before she shuddered out a moan, loud and vocal to echo through the room, coming fast around Lilith’s fingers.
She blinked and then gasped and glance at the clock, noting that five minutes hadn’t passed.
Lilith stood up, turning to look at the clock on the wall before she turned back and grinned at Zelda, licking her fingers. “There we go,” Lilith said. “Now, do you doubt me?”
Zelda shook her head and went to grab at her underwear and pull them up only for Lilith to stop her and tug them off from around her ankles, stuffing them into her pocket. “I need a trophy, after all.”
Lilith rolled her eyes before she stood up and felt arousal slick between her thighs. She knew the real reason Lilith was holding onto her underwear, and it was to purely make Zelda aware of how wet she was, as well as much she wanted Lilith to fuck her again.
And it was working. Damn her.
But she cleared her throat, fixing her hair. “Well, we should make our way back.”
“Of course,” Lilith agreed. “And then we can get some dinner.”
Zelda nodded. “Dinner.”
“You know, Marie might be hungry too. Perhaps we should invite her out to dinner?” Lilith suggested.
Zelda nodded, feeling herself squirm as Lilith’s hand slid around her waist, her mouth coming to brush over her ear, “you look starving, wouldn’t you like to eat out, tonight?”
“Yes.”
“Good girl.”
They had to go back to the room first and made small-talk with the guests until they left. By then, the catering was cleared (with only a few bit of cheese and olives left, easy enough to throw into the bin), tables were set away. And everything was packed-up for whenever the next event would be.
When Zelda turned to look at Lilith, she noticed that she and Marie were speaking with one another, looking as though they were conspiring on something.
Zelda walked over, smoothing down her skirt and trying to ignore the feeling of damp thighs as she looked between the two scheming women. “Have you decided on dinner?” Zelda asked.
“We have,” Lilith confirmed. “It’s too late to go out, so we’ve ordered some food to pick up on the way back to mine.”
Zelda swallowed, feeling those words hum through her. They were going back to Lilith’s. “I have to go back to my family’s tonight,” she said softly. “I wasn’t home last night.”
Lilith’s face shifted for a moment, before she nodded, “Of course. Well, we can…just go back and eat dinner and then I’ll drop you off home.”
“I’m parked at yours.”
Lilith nodded. “Yes, you are. Well, all the more reason.”
Zelda agreed. “I would love that,” she said. It was only nine-thirty. She’d missed dinner, and the family hadn’t expected her home early that evening anyway. She could stay out until one at the very least. “I don’t have to go home straight away, however.”
Lilith smiled at her, and it was enough to convince Zelda to stay for a little bit. Truth be told, she didn’t want to go home. She wanted to stay with Lilith, whether that meant sex or talking or just falling asleep beside one-another, she didn’t care.
She loved her.
The knowledge of that hummed through her.
“Let’s go,” she said.
Marie laughed. “You two kids are crazy,” she said. “If you prefer I can go back to my hotel and leave the evening to you?”
“No,” Zelda said, before looking at Lilith and confirming with her. Lilith smiled nodding.
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Lilith said, and Zelda watched as her arm slid around Marie’s waist, hugging her close. “You’re leaving tomorrow. May as well enjoy your company before you’re running off to see your family.”
“I’ll be back in the city for New Years if you wanted to come-up?” Marie said. “The both of you could come to visit my art studio?” Her eyebrows wiggled, and Zelda couldn’t help but laugh at the ridiculousness of it.
“So we can pose for you?” she asked. “I feel like this is a plot to get us naked under hot lights.”
“Most definitely,” Marie confirmed. “But I would love to see how you looked bound up under pretty lights.”
Well, Zelda thought, that was certainly an idea. Tied and bound, under the mercy of Lilith and Marie. It was certainly an aesthetic she would be thinking about for some time.
With the lights turned off and the doors locked as they should be, they made their way to Lilith’s car, but as she went to move to the front seat, Lilith blocked her. “I think you and Marie should sit in the back,” she teased, before kissing her. Zelda frowned at the direction, but obeyed, moving to the rear door and sliding into the back seat beside Marie, in the centre section.
She felt her heart race as Lilith turned the radio down to a low level, before pulling out of the car spot. And then, Lilith adjusted the rearview mirror, catching Zelda’s eye as she did. Zelda grinned and slid her thighs apart, watching as Lilith paused for a moment before she laughed, low to herself and glanced back towards the road.
“Marie,” Lilith said. “It looks like my dear handmaiden is absolute bare of underwear. Could you check for me? I’m sure she left the house in a pair.”
That was all it took, Marie was kissing her, hand sliding between her thighs before she turned her head and informed Lilith, “Dreadfully wet. Did you two fuck during my talk?”
“After,” Zelda responded.
“Well,” Lilith said, “Zelda was desperately trying to get me to fuck her during your talk, must have been your voice,” she teased.
“I certainly was not! You’re the one––“ she was cut off by Marie kissing her mouth, softening the complaint as the woman’s finger stroked between her legs. When she began to moan, the woman’s mouth pulled away and began kissing down her throat, over her shoulder.
Zelda looked over to Lilith, watching as she pulled one hand away from the steering wheel to reach back and touch over her knee, her eyes in the rearview mirror glancing at her, promising her that if she needed anything, Lilith would supply it.
Zelda knew she would. She knew that if she asked her to join, she would––and Zelda wanted her to join. She wanted those fingers inside of her, coaxing her to orgasm. But they would have to wait.
She moaned again, her chest rising and falling, and Lilith smiled at her before her eyes returned to the road.
As they drove through the town, the lights passed them, flashing through the car and Zelda focused her attention on what Marie was doing to her as she kissed the woman, shifting her hips against her fingers.
Marie was deft and quick, but she was clearly trying to tease her, and it was quite maddening to feel herself grow so close only for Marie to slow down. For God’s sake, she wanted an orgasm.
She nipped at the woman’s mouth and felt Marie pull back, laughing. “Oh no,” she said. “I’m going to get you all worked up for Lilith.”
“Hardly fair, she’s in the front seat.”
The car pulled off, and Zelda felt her heart flutter with hope until she pulled away from Marie to note that they were near a take-away shop. Lilith pulled off her seat belt and twist in the seat to look at them both. “I’ll be right back, don’t get into any trouble while I’m gone.”
And with that, Marie pulled away from Zelda, back into her seat and grinned as Zelda exhaled. The front door shut and Zelda followed Lilith’s outline into the restaurant, an ache in her chest. It was absolutely ridiculous, but a part of her wanted to climb out of the car and follow her.
“She’s a good person,” Marie said. “And she likes you a lot.”
Zelda swallowed, looking at Marie. “Is this where you give some friendship speech as if we’re dating?”
Marie paused, tilting her head as if to consider it. “Lilith is thoughtful enough to know who she wants to give her heart to, but it seems like, perhaps, you’re hesitant to give her your heart?”
Zelda flinched at the comment. “Not that it’s any of your business, but things are far more complicated than that,” she said.
“Perhaps you’re making things more complicated than they need to be,” Marie said. “Is it such a leap from what you have, now?”
She paused to consider the words and felt the shift in her. Anger grew inside her, but as she went to snap back, Marie held up a hand to defend herself.
“It’s not my place,” she confirmed. “And I won’t bring it up again. I am only here to enjoy both of your company if you’ll still have me.”
“As long as you don’t try to get involved in our relationship again, that’s fine,” Zelda said. Marie laughed and nodded––at least knowing her place this time. Then, before an awkwardness could settle, Zelda asked, “You mentioned you had an art studio?”
Marie perked at that and began discussing her place in the city, detailing her art and her current project. By the time she was discussing what she’d done to date with her current project, Zelda felt herself tempted enough to consider posing with Lilith––though Marie explained, it’d be less posing and more Zelda and Lilith going at it like bunnies why Marie photographed them with a slow shutter speed.
Still, it was a lovely thought.
When Lilith returned to the car, placing the foot in the front seat, she turned to face them both, grinning. “I see you two held off.”
“You can not have a performance without an audience,” Marie said.
Lilith laughed, placing the car into gear. “Well, I have our food, so we can discuss what you’d like to do over dinner.”
Zelda softened as she watched Lilith adjust the mirrors. The conversation continued about the art studio, and Zelda inquired as to if Lilith had ever posed for Marie. “Marie did my photos for the website,” Lilith said. “They’re all a few years old now, but you can’t see my face anyway, so it doesn’t matter.”
“You said you only started up the business again recently,” Zelda said, “Did you have the website rebuilt?”
Lilith laughed, “No, I had everything from the old website, it was easy enough to put up and just change a few things as needed. But it’s a private domain, you can’t access it from search engines.”
Zelda blinked, taking in the weight of that statement. Lilith kept her business private. That made sense for the most part. She’d met minion, and a few of Lilith’s other clients and they’d all mentioned they’d met Lilith through a friend-of-a-friend. Some of them were local, but others were occasional. Which raised the question then.
“Am I your only new client?” Zelda asked.
Lilith paused at that, and Zelda heard Marie laugh. “Client,” she teased. “Lilith, you are utterly useless.”
“Oh, shut-it,” Lilith snapped at Marie. “I can still have Zelda gag you.”
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me. Zelda’s a good girl, she’ll obey me, won’t you darling?” Zelda shivered at the command and found herself nodding. “Good girl’s get rewarded,” Lilith pointed out to Marie.
“Oh, you know I prefer a good punishing.”
“Mm, perhaps I’ll have Zelda hand it out. I’d like to see her with my cane in hand.”
Zelda closed her eyes, trying to think about how that would look. Marie bent over and Lilith showing her how to use the cane, whispering all the tips and tricks as she guided her.
“I think Zelda would like that too,” Marie said, peeking over at her with a coy look. “Unless I’m mistaken?”
“I know what I like,” Zelda assured.
“That’s not a no,” she pointed out. “But at your choosing, I’m sure Lilith will be more than happy to bend over for you too. I could always show you how to spank her.”
Lilith scoffed, but before a response could be found, they were pulling up at her cottage. Zelda climbed out of the seat, feeling her thighs slick terribly as stepped out of the car, thoughts of Lilith bending over for her filling her mind.
She went to the front seat, pulling out the food and followed Lilith up the porch as she opened the door.
One-by-one they went in, with Marie removing her coat and moving to start the fire with ease reserved by long-term friends. It burned in Zelda before she reminded herself that Marie knew Lilith for a few years now. It was understandable that she would be familiar enough to shift around the house as if she lived there.
Moving to the kitchen, she set out the food, grabbing plates and cutlery, only to be stopped when Lilith’s hands wrapped around her waist. “We don’t have to have sex,” Lilith said lowly, kissing her throat. “We can do other things or just chat. I don’t mind.”
Zelda hummed, turning around to face her. “I don’t mind,” she said honestly. “But I don’t want to fuck you with another person here. If I’m going to fuck you, I want your entire attention to be on how good my tongue feels against you.”
Lilith paused, staring at Zelda. “I could drive her back to the hotel.”
“No, I want to play with her too,” Zelda said. “You’ll just have to wait until Christmas until I fuck you.”
“Is that so?” Lilith asked, and then she was pressing firmer against her, kissing down her throat and neck as her hand drew up the skirt Zelda was wearing. “Zelda,” she said, sounding scandalised. “You’re terribly wet from Marie. Should I be jealous?”
“Don’t be ridiculous, it’s because of you, only you,” Zelda corrected, and it was the right thing to say as Lilith moaned against her shoulder, stroking her hand firmer, as the other came to squeeze at her breast. Zelda gasped, leaning against her. “We should…” she trailed off, but it happened too quickly, Lilith was stroking her deliberately to work her up, and there was nothing Zelda could do but feel herself melt into it.
“You’re mine, aren’t you Zelda?” Lilith asked.
Zelda nodded and felt as Lilith’s fingers entered her. “Yours,” she agreed, the word coming out with an exhale. There was nothing else she wanted, no one else she wanted but Lilith inside of her at that moment.
She felt words teetering in her throat, but as her head drop forward, her mouth opening in gasps, she found she couldn’t focus on anything except trying to stand as Lilith fucked her in her kitchen.
She clenched around Lilith’s fingers, her hands reaching to grab hold of the woman as her knees nearly gave out, but Lilith held her firmly, holding her upright. “You’re okay,” she said, as her fingers withdrew, pressing against her thigh as Zelda caught her breath.
And then there was the sound of heels entering the kitchen.
“Fire’s built,” Marie said.
Zelda stepped away from Lilith, pulling her skirt down as she turned to face Marie. “Thank you,” she said.
Marie looked curiously between them, before she laughed, facing Lilith. “You are ever as impatient as I remember.”
“I am plenty patient,” Lilith snapped, moving to the kitchen sink to wash her hands. “I did my whole job around it.”
“Not with someone you care for. Unless you were jealous?” she asked. “That I was fucking her and you weren’t. You had to get in and….get her off before I did. Was that it?”
Lilith scoffed, but Zelda flushed at the idea, wondering if Lilith had been jealous. She looked to the woman, but her expression was heated, difficult to read. It could have been anything.
“Let’s eat, shall we? And discuss fucking.”
They picked at the food, rather that actually eating. Zelda sipped at her glass of water, listening to Lilith and Marie argue over bondage as she sat back and watched them debate. Seeing Lilith and Marie actually speaking to one another showed how well suited they were as friends, but the magnetism she felt with Lilith, was for her alone.
Lilith looked at Marie as a friend did, but the moment her eyes moved from her to Zelda, there was a shift, a hunger under the surface that had Zelda shivering. It made her realise that for everything she’d been concerned about, all of her fears that Lilith was only somewhat interested in a relationship was…perhaps built on her own insecurity and not reality.
Lilith liked her, that much was obvious now that she could see how she acted and reacted with a friend.
Lilith wanted her.
And she loved Lilith.
It left them at an imbalance, but a far narrower one than she’d first thought. She couldn’t expect Lilith to love her without putting the work in, but it was enough to make her wonder what a relationship would look like.
Not tonight, though, she realised. Tonight they would play, and then Zelda would go home, and she’d return to her family.
But come Christmas…
Maybe…
Maybe she could consider stating clearly that no, she didn’t want to date anyone else. That she only wanted to romantically be with one person.
She placed the thought away and found herself being pulled into the bedroom with Marie and Lilith both. And there, she undressed Marie and bound her, an agreement to punish Marie to prove that Lilith was right about the ropes she used.
It was fun to play and punish, but Zelda didn’t care about the act its self. She cared about how Lilith felt pressed against her back, holding the paddle in grip as she showed Zelda how to hit, where to hit, and where to make it painful.
Lilith guided her, and the feeling of her body pressed against her own, showing her the movements was enough for Zelda to realise.
She wanted her.
Wholly, truly, completely. No one else but Lilith.

Puppy Love! A werewolf!Reader x Zim tail!
Special request for @cinnimonbunbunnie. I absolutely adore their art and I had a ton fun writing this! Hope you enjoy!
The full moon cast a mystical glow as Zim’s Voot Runner whizzed across the sky.
Ever since GIR had gone missing earlier that morning, Zim had been looking high and low for him.
From the Krazy Taco shop to the local dance club, Zim couldn’t seem to find GIR anywhere and was starting to get worried!
Zim let out an enraged growl and ripped off his disguise.
“C’mon GIR! Where are you?! TELL ME! TELL ME!” A few tears trickled down Zim’s cheeks as he shook the Voot Runner’s controls.
Unfortunately, all of Zim’s shaking caused him to lose control of the Voot Runner.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
The Voot Runner’s warning sirens blared as the ship begun to rumble.
Zim screamed as he frantically tried to regain control. Alas, Zim’s attempts were in vain, for the Voot Runner was sent spiraling towards the ground.
“EJECT! EJECT!” Zim screeched as he rapidly pressed the Eject button
CRASH!
SMASH!
The Voot Runner slammed into a nearby forest.
“EJECT COMMAND INITIATED”
THUD!
Zim’s face kissed the ground.
Zim spat out the dirt in his mouth as he slowly peeled himself off the ground.
“Ruined. Ruined. Irken engineering reduced to..this.” Zim groaned as he stood before the ruins of his fallen ship.
Every bit of the Voot Runner was in shambles. It’s windows were shattered and it’s engines were in flames.
Zim let out an engaged growl as he turned away from what was left of his ship.
“Clearly, there must be some kind of disturbance in this area that interfered with the Voot’s directional signals. Once I find GIR I shall hunt down that evil disturbance.” Zim’s voice oozed with venom as the Voot’s flaming remains burned behind him.
Taking a deep breath Zim pulled out his communicator from his PAK.
“Minimoose, respond!”
The communicator projected an image of Minimoose sitting in front of the TV.
“Nyeh?”
“Minimoose, the Voot Runner has been damaged. I need you to send out the recovery vehicle at once! And be sneaky about it!” Zim commanded as he put his hands on his hips
“Nyeh?”
“No, still no signs of GIR but I shall not give up! Zim never gives up! NEVER!” Zim declared as he pointed to the sky.
“Nyah!”
“I think you’re cool too, Minimoose!” Zim giggled as he cleared his throat, “Now hurry up with the recovery vehicle!”
“Nyah!”
And with that, Minimoose cut the call and got the recovery vehicle.
“Excellent! At least I still have Minimoose to help me…” Zim sighed as he folded his arms.
While he would never admit it, Zim truly did care for his insane little robot. GIR and Minimoose were the closest things to friends Zim ever had.
Without his robot minions, Zim wouldn’t have anyone to talk to. The Tallest were busy leading Operation: Impending Doom 2, and humans were stupid and inferior.
GIR and Minimoose were all he had and Zim couldn’t bear to lose either of them.
“HI MASTER!”
Speak of the robot! Zim whipped around and sure enough, there GIR was with his usual cheerful grin.
“GIR? Is that really you?” A few more tears formed in Zim’s eyes as he spoke.
“Uh-Huh!”
A few tears trickled down Zim’s cheeks as a relieved smile spread across his features.
“GIR…HOW DARE YOU WORRY YOUR MASTER?!” Zim roared as he grabbed GIR and shook him.
“Aww! You were worried about meeee?” GIR giggled as he clasped his hands together.
“NO!” Zim denied as he dropped GIR to the ground, “I was worried about..um…the amount of trouble you’d cause! Yes! That’s it!”
“Aww! You missed me! You missed me!!” GIR sang as he jumped off the ground.
“I did NOT! Zim misses no one! NO ONE!” Zim huffed as he folded his arms.
“Ok, Ok.” GIR giggled as he picked up a stick and started to play with it.
“GIR! Unhand that Urth filth!” Zim snapped as he gestured to the stick.
GIR pouted but obliged.
“Once Minimoose arrives with the Voot recovery vehicle, we’re going home and updating your tracking chip.” Zim grumbled as he pinched the middle of his forehead.
“Oh, I left that at home.” GIR scoffed as he flicked his wrist.
“You left what at home?”
“The trackey chippy thingy”
Zim’s eyes widened in shock.
“D’oh! Why would you do that?!” Zim snapped as he curled his fingers in front of his face.
“To make room for the cupcake!” GIR chirped as he popped a cupcake out of his head and greedily devoured it.
“Well that explains why I had such a hard time finding you all day. I’m guessing you also left your communication projector at home as well.” Zim grumbled as he put his hands on his hips.
“Yup! Had to make room for the ice cream!” GIR tried to pop ice cream out of his head but it had melted! All that came out was a soggy cone.
Zim dragged a hand down his face and groaned.
“Why must you do these things to me?!”
GIR sniffled as a few tears spilled from his eyes.
Zim’s face softened at the sight of GIR crying.
“I can see that me being frustrated will get us nowhere. We should probably-”
“AWOOO!”
Zim was cut off by a loud, pained howl echoing in the distance.
“What was that…”
“AWOOO!”
Zim felt a shiver run down his spine as the howling drew closer.
“I’ll go check!” GIR sang as he trotted off after the howling.
“GIR! Don’t go running off again! I command you to get back here at once!” Zim demanded as he pointed to his side.
However, Zim was too late as GIR had already disappeared into the woods.
“Ooh! GIR! Why must you be this way?!” Zim whined as he chased after GIR.
“AWOOO!”
The deeper Zim traveled the louder the howling became. Zim felt his body tremble but he carried onwards none the less.
It wasn’t long before Zim had finally tracked down GIR.
“GIR! There you are! Will you stop running off like-”
“AWOO!”
“That…”
Zim’s blood ran cold as the howling was louder than ever.
RUSTLE! RUSTLE!
Dead leaves crunched as the sound of footsteps drew near.
Zim wanted to run but fear kept his body frozen in place.
Two golden eyes peered out from with in the trees as the mysterious creature’s silhouette slowly started to appear.
“AWOO!”
You jumped out from the shadows of the trees, your caramel coat glistening under the light of the full moon.
Zim’s antennas drooped as his ruby eyes widened in shock. Never had he seen such a large wolf before!
You curiously inspected the two strange creatures before you. They were clearly aliens but whether or not they were friendly was the real question.
“HI MONGOOSE!”
GIR ’s cheerful squeal broke the silence.
Yup. They were definitely friendly. A bit confused but friendly.
You simply giggled and playfully shook your head.
You looked over at Zim, who had yet to say a word.
It seemed as if fear had robbed him of his usual loud, commanding voice along with his movement.
“Sorry, did I scare you?” You teased playfully as you tilted your head.
“Eh?! You can speak?! I didn’t know Urth wolves could speak!” Zim nearly fell onto his bottom.
“Well, most Urth wolves can’t speak but I’m a werewolf so I’m an exception.” You giggled as you sat up straighter.
“Were…wolf?”
“Yup, most days I’m human but when the full moon is out I turn into a wolf.” You explained as you looked up towards the moonlit sky.
“Really? So humans can turn into wolves when there’s a full moon?” Zim’s antennas perked up as his fear melted into curiosity.
“Not exactly…Only a few special humans, like me, turn into wolves.” You explained as you gestured to yourself.
“I see…Fascinating! So how long does the transformation last?” Zim asked as he stroked his chin.
“Well, it’s different depending on who you ask. For me it only lasts until sunrise. Which is good, since it can be pretty awkward for a talking wolf to show up to an all human skool” You giggled as you flicked your tail.
“Why would it be awkward? I thought humans were supposed to like dogs.” Zim scratched his head as he spoke.
“Ordinary humans think dogs are cute and fluffy. Wolves on the other paw, are considered to be big and scary. Not to mention the amount of drama if they found out I could talk! They would probably lock me away and experiment on me or something!” You shuddered at the mere thought of what horrors the humans could inflict upon you.
“Wait! Humans want to experiment on you too?”
“Oh yeah. My parents always told me that ordinary humans do terrible things to what that they don't understand. So I was told to stay away from them during the full moon so they won’t hurt me. I thought my parents were overreacting until….” You trailed off as you gently lied down on the ground.
“Until what?”
“Well…Let’s just say, humans can be more cruel than you’d expect..” You sighed as your ears flattened.
“Yeah, I know what you mean.” Zim muttered as he sat down beside you, “Some humans can’t seem to keep their smelly big heads to themselves.”
Your head perked up at the mention of a ‘big smelly head’.
“Wait a second. You wouldn’t happen to know a human named ‘Dib’ would you?”
“Dib?! You know him too?!” Zim yelped as his ruby eyes widened in surprise.
“Know him?! He’s the one who did all this to me!” You whimpered as you gestured to various wounds near your backside.
Zim let out a gasp at the sight of your wounds. While he had definitely seen worse, he couldn’t help but feel terrible for you. Your wounds seemed fresh, indicating your altercation with Dib was recent.
“I was just trying to sleep and he tried to capture me in this crazy werewolf trap! It was awful! I managed to bust out but he tried to tranquilize me! Eventually I managed to out run him but I’m still scared he’s still following me…” You sniffled as a few tears trickled down your cheeks.
Zim’s antennas drooped as he noticed your tears. He tried to reach out to comfort you but decided against it.
He’d been dealing with Dib’s tomfuckery since the day he came to Urth. So he was used to being beaten and bruised. Dib never scared him so Zim was never bothered by his nonsense. If anything he actually found it fun to mess with him.
However, it was becoming increasingly obvious that Dib wasn’t so fun to deal with when he was someone else’s problem.
Zim always knew that Dib was obsessed with hunting all kinds of paranormal beasts, but he never thought that he treated the other beasts as terribly as he treated him.
Zim always assumed Dib fought with him because he was trying to destroy the Urth! He never thought that Dib would attack an innocent creature!
You were just trying to go into sleep mode! You weren’t bothering anyone! For a boy with such a big head, he sure had a small brain!
Normally, Zim couldn’t care less about a stranger’s pain. After all, Urth’s destruction wasn’t exactly going to be painless. All life on Urth would have to suffer for the sake of the Irken Empire.
However, something about seeing you in pain made his blood boil.
Maybe it was because he knew how it felt to be mistreated for simply existing. Maybe it was because he couldn’t stand seeing injustice. Or maybe it was because he really really hated Dib.
Whatever the reason was, Zim couldn’t let you live your life in fear of that big headed creep!
“Fear not, eh….What did you say your name was?”
“It’s Y/N.”
“Right! Fear not, Y/N! I shall offer my assistance! For It seems we have a common enemy, the FLITHY Dib-worm!” Zim growled as he pointed to the sky.
“Wait, what? Please tell me Dib didn’t try to capture you too!” You whimpered as you turned to look at Zim.
“Well of course he tried but my SUPERIOR IRKEN BRAIN outsmarted him every time!” Zim boasted as he jumped to his feet.
“Really? So you know how to get rid of him?” Hope twinkled in your eyes as you spoke.
“Of course I do! Now, join me, Y/N-Beast! Join Zim and together we shall end the Dib’s reign of terror once and for all!” Zim cackled as he dramatically stood on top of a large rock.
You couldn’t help but giggle at Zim’s over the top behavior. He truly was a quite the character.
You opened your mouth to speak but were cut of by an all too familiar voice.
“THERE YOU ARE! THIS TIME I’LL FINALLY CATCH YOU!”
Dib’s voice cut through the air like nails on a chalkboard. He rushed through the trees with his werewolf hunting gear in tow.
You let out a startled whimper and hid behind the rock Zim was standing on.
“Your reign of terror ends now, Dib! Surrender or suffer the wrath of Zim!” Zim bellowed as he put his hands on his hips.
“What the-Zim?! You’re working with the werewolf?!” Dib spluttered as he almost dropped his gear.
“This fluffy wolf beast has suffered with your pathetic Dib filth long enough! Give up now while you still have a brain to…give up…with!” Zim stuttered as he shot Dib a glare.
“Seriously, Zim? Since when were you into protecting werewolves-”
“DO NOT QUESTION ZIM!”
“No matter, I’ll just expose you both! Here I go!”
And with that, Dib pulled out a taser and lunged straight for Zim.
Zim was about to jump out of the way when.
FWHIP!
CLANG!
PLOP!
You jumped up and knocked Dib to the ground, causing him to drop his taser.
“You leave us alone, you creep!” You growled through gnashing teeth.
“Well, that was unexpected! But no matter! Prepare yourself for the end, Dib!” Zim roared as he jumped off the rock.
Dib slowly peeled himself off the ground and shook his head rapidly.
“Alright, you both asked for it!” Dib sneered as he pulled out a tranquilizer gun.
POW!
“Y/N-Beast! Look out!” Zim commanded as he pushed you out of the way.
POP!
CLINK!
A purple forcefield popped out of Zim’s PAK, protecting both you and him from the tranquilizer dart.
“Thanks for the save!” You panted as you stood behind Zim.
“Nice try, Dib-worm! But Zim is immune to all of your pathetic tricks!” Zim cackled as he deactivated the forcefield.
“Let’s see if you’re immune to this!” Dib chuckled as he pulled out a small blue ball and chucked it directly at Zim’s head.
CLANG!
You jumped into the air and swatted the ball back to Dib. The ball opened up to reveal a large electric net.
Dib let out a shriek as he managed to just barely dodge the net.
“Oh come on! Is that the best you can do? You’re making this too easy!” Dib taunted as he pulled out a shock collar and ran straight for you.
You managed to swiftly jump out of the way but Dib wasn’t deterred
“Oh no you don’t! I’m not going to let you get away this time!” Dib snarled as he jumped onto your back.
You let out a howl as you thrashed about, desperately trying to shake him off of you.
“GIR! Defensive mode!” Zim commanded as he pointed to Dib.
BEEP! BEEP!
GIR’s eyes turned red as he gave a salute. He was about to attack when he got distracted by a stick.
Letting out a giggle, GIR’s eyes returned to their usual cheerful teal color as he began to play with the stick.
“You’re terrible, GIR!” Zim growled as he dragged his hand down his face.
Dib used his free hand to grab onto your fur as he tried to get the collar around your neck.
“Once I capture you freaks, Mysterious Mysteries will be begging for me to be on their show! Then the whole world will finally see that I’m-ACK!”
Dib’s monologue was cut off by Zim yanking him off of you, causing him to drop the shock collar.
“That you’re a pathetic fool? You don’t need Mysterious Mysteries’ help for that.” Zim mocked as he loomed over him.
“Takes one to know one, space lizard!” Dib countered as he jumped up and shoved Zim to the ground.
Zim let out a scream as he tumbled backwards and landed right on his bottom.
Dib chuckled darkly as he pulled out his alien sleep cuffs.
Zim tried to back away, only for his back to smack into a tree.
“Give it up, Zim! I’ve got you cornered!” Dib smirked as he drew closer.
Zim was about to fight back when,
“AWOOO!”
FWISH!
PAF!
You slammed into Dib, causing him to drop his sleep cuffs and go flying into a nearby tree.
CLANG!
RRIP!
The impact caused Dib’s protective armor to fall to the ground, tearing a massive hole in the body suit underneath.
Dib groaned as he slowly opened his heavy eyelids. His vision cleared to reveal you and Zim looming over him.
You gnashed your teeth and let out a low growl as you put a paw on his chest.
Dib let out a gasp and tried to get up but your paw kept him trapped in place.
“You know, all it takes is one scratch from me and you’ll be the one being exposed.” You snarled as you shot him a glare.
“Heh. You think I’m stupid? I’m wearing silver armor…There’s no way your wolf claws can get through it.” Dib heaved.
“Are you, Dib? Are you?” Zim mocked as he held up the fallen piece of armor.
Dib let out a yelp as he looked down and noticed the hole in his body suit. Sure enough, the hole left his entire shoulder vulnerable.
“Now, are you gonna leave us alone? Or would you rather become a ‘freak’ yourself?” You growled as you looked down at Dib’s exposed shoulder.
“Ok! Ok! Just let me go! Please!” Dib whimpered as he frantically tried to wriggle out of your grip.
“Glad to see you’ve made the right choice.”
And with that, you carefully released Dib.
Dib gasped as he finally managed to catch his breath.
“Enjoy your defeat at the Zim hands of ZIM! Oh and Y/N” Zim let out a maniacal laugh as he reached towards the sky.
“Go on, laugh all you want! For I have recorded the entire thing! Irrefutable proof of both of your-HUH?! Where’s my camera?!”
Sure enough, Dib’s camera was in the hands of GIR. GIR happily giggled as he begun to smash the camera with his stick.
“HA! Great work, GIR! Just like we totally planned!” Zim cheered as he gave GIR a thumbs up.
“Aw, man! That was my favorite camera!” Dib whined as he grabbed the sides of his head.
“Heh. Payback’s a jerk huh, Dib?” You teased as you stuck out your tongue at him.
“You may have won this round but just you wait! I’ll be back with even more tools! And a stronger camera! I’ll expose you both if it’s the last thing I do!” Dib seethed as he ran off into the woods.
“Ha! I’d like to see you try!” You called out as you shook your head.
“Are you alright, Y/N-beast?” Zim asked as he looked you over.
“Yeah, I’m alright. How about you?”
“Never better! Zim can handle anything!” Zim boasted as he puffed out his chest a bit.
“I can tell. Heh. We make a pretty good team, Zim.” You giggled as you wagged your tail a bit.
“Indeed we do! Indeed we do! Which is why I am going to bestow upon you the honor of being an honorary minion!” Zim announced as he patted your head.
You were about to respond but the suddenly pinkish sky caught your eye.
“Looks like the sun is rising. I better get going!” You yelped as you turned to leave.
“Wait! Before you leave you must promise not to tell a single soul of what you’ve seen! Understand? NOT A SINGLE SOUL!” Zim demanded as he stomped his foot.
“Don’t worry, I promise I won’t tell anyone about you!” You insisted with a giggle.
“Excellent! Though, if you break your promise I will destroy you.” Zim threatened as he narrowed his ruby eyes.
You were about to respond when the light of the rising sun poured down upon you.
FSHH!!
With a bright flash, you reverted back to your human self.
Zim’s PAK sparked a bit as his face turned a deeper shade of green.
Despite your tattered clothes, you were absolutely lovely!
“Welp. Looks like you get to see the real me.” You chuckled nervously as you rubbed the back of your head.
Zim tried to speak but the words got caught in his throat.
“I really should be going now. I hope we can meet again someday!” You chirped as you rushed off.
“Uh-huh” Was all Zim could muster as he watched you vanish into the forest.
“Nyah!”
The sound of Minimoose’s squeaking woke Zim from his trance.
“ACK! Oh it’s just you. Have you brought the recovery vehicle for the Voot?”
“Nyah!” Minimoose nodded as they gestured to the large pig behind them.
“Excellent! Now, come on GIR! Let’s go home!” Zim insisted as he hopped onto the pig.
“Okie Dokie!” GIR giggled as he followed suit.
As the pig soared through the pink sky, Zim let out a sigh of relief.
“I hope you’ve learned a valuable lesson from all of this, GIR.”
GIR simply giggled in response.
“What’s so funny?!”
“Y/N sure was preeettyy, huh master?” GIR teased as he clasped his hands.
“They were NOT! Y/N is a filthy wolf-human… thing! I have no attraction to them whatsoever and I hope I don’t have to see them ever again!” Zim denied as his face turned a darker shade of green.
“Nyah!” Minimoose giggled.
“SHUT UP! BOTH OF YOU!” Zim roared as he tugged on his antennas.
“Ok, sorry, master.” GIR giggled.
Despite his claims, Zim still couldn’t get you out of his head. For deep down, he really hoped to see you again someday…

Whoops, I drew Tony with characters I made that have something to do with him or time
The cats at the bottom are what I call “The Pop Siblings”, I’ll go in order with their names from left to right.
Sodapop, Candypop, Jellypop, and Berrypop.
Berrypop is the oldest, Sodapop is the second oldest, Jellypop is the second youngest, and Candypop is the youngest.
Now they don’t exactly have something to do with time, but the reason they exist is because I had a random thought of a little cat in a pink coat traveling dimensions, and getting stuck with a human!Tony, now the cat is in extreme danger since that Tony is a damn murderer (I joined the dhmis fandom in 2019 and yet Tony in 2014 rams down my door every 10 seconds) and the cat needs to escape.
The comic itself is called “Survival Tactics 101”, no, it’s not a webcomic, every comic I make is made with actual paper and I keep them to myself, but I don’t mind sharing canons and characters from my comics with others.
Anyway, ST101 is just a comic about the siblings getting stuck in different dimensions with all sorts of characters and having to escape.
———————————
The rest of the characters (except for obviously Tony) are from a comic idea I had in 2018 called “Thieves of Time”, this one is bulit better than ST101 because, well, it’s older and I’ve had more time to make the plot and stuff, it’s about three 12 year old stickman friends needing to save time itself from an evil force called the Shadows (very creative, I know, yaaaaaaaaayy-) who escaped their confinements after many years, who have now stolen the past, present, and future.
The “Time trio” (I call them that because theres a load of trios I’ve seen, the dhmis trio, trios in other comic ideas I’ve had, trios in video games, etc.) gets stuck in the time theif situation because the just had to be the heros in a prophecy about 3 kids saving time itself from the Shadows. Of course, Eliphas the Time Wizard tells the time trio that they’re the kids in the prophecy since they obviously don’t know, and Eliphas helps the team by sending them into the past, present, and future to take back what the shadows stole.
Btw: The Past, Present, and Future are represented by objects, stealing them (if you’re a Shadow) will cause in that part of time freezing.
Also btw: I actually forgot about the comic for about a year until Tony inspired me to go “hey what about that old comic idea I had” and now I’ve finished all the characters and the entire storyline of the comic, revival 100.
Anyways, the characters
The stickman (named from left to right)
Eli Anderson, Roger Cooper, and Zackary Morris.
——————
Eliphas the Time Wizard: obviously the purple wizard outfit with a clock pattern darn it
——————
The Shadows on the left: Iron (the one with the tail curving downward), who stole the future (and turned himself into a giant robot), and Spike (the one with the tail curving up), the one who stole the past (and fused himself with a T-rex despite the item was a dinosaur egg, but he ate the item anyway, but after being defeated he coughed it out).
The Shadow King: obviously the one with the crown and wings, he didn’t steal the present, but one of his minions did and gave him the item of the present, a wall clock, and the Shadow King fused himself with it, causing him to become a giant abomination made out of clock parts.
——————
Well I guess that sums up the two comics and their characters? Anyways I hope you enjoy the art.
Ps: If Tony actually met the Shadow King and his minions and learned what they did, yeah, everyone would be dead, murdered by Tony.

Second Chance for a Super Villain’s Minion Part 4
Continuing a longer story! Hooray!
Part 1 / Part 2 / Part 3 can all be found here!
Hope you guys enjoy.
“I have plans.” Jack was laying on her workshop table, idly fiddling with one  of Abigail’s half-finished inventions.
“Hmm.” Abigail didn’t know what to say, she still felt nervous around Jack when they were alone, even after these several years of being his minion.
“I’ll get more and more people on my side, take over the country slowly. By the time they realize it, I’ll be in charge of everything.” He grinned, tossing the small metal object in the air and catching it.
She wrinkled her brows, confused. “How are you going to get them to your side?”
“I have a gift.” He laughed softly. “I can convince anyone, anywhere, that they need to join my team.”
“Sounds fake.”
“Coming from you that’s not too convincing.” He grinned at her. “Aren’t you on my side?”
Abigail blushed, hanging her head down and continuing to work on her invention.
“What’s that?” He sat up, pulling it from her hands.
“Hey…” She started to protest, but felt too uncomfortable to continue. “It’s a shielding ray, it will be able to block all sorts of projectiles and other deadly weapons.”
Jack studied it closer, now with more interest. “Really?”
“Yes, although it’s not finished yet.” She took it back, continuing to work on it.
“You’re the best, Abby! “ He hugged her tightly, causing her heart rate to increase.
“What’s taking so long?” Jack’s irritated voice broke Abigail out of her memories. She smiled to herself, clutching the cell phone a little tighter.
“I’ve been at Infinity Tech for less than a month, idiot. Do you really think I can get my hands on sensitive information in that short of time?”
“…” He didn’t answer, but Abigail could feel his rage over the phone. She chuckled quietly, savoring the chance to talk back to him. In her previous life Jack had always been in control, always saying exactly what she wanted to hear when she needed to hear it. She had believed him without question, following him blindly.
But now…
“Well… if you don’t get something soon, this partnership is over!” His voice was frantic, unsure. Abigail’s smile widened.
“Alright then.”
“… what do you mean ‘alright’?!”
She shrugged, forgetting briefly that Jack wouldn’t be able to see the gesture over the phone. “I mean, if you don’t want to be partners, then fine. I never needed you.”
Those words felt so wonderful to say.
“I- YOU…F-fine. Take your time. Just get results… or else…”
“Or else what?” This was fun. She had never heard him so on edge.
“Or I’ll tell your new hero buddies who you’ve been talking with!”
“Really?” She couldn’t help it, she laughed out loud. “And why should they care that I’m talking to a nobody?”
“I won’t be a nobody for long, Abby. And then how will you explain these little “chats” of ours?”
She squeezed the phone so tightly she was surprised it didn’t snap in her hand.
“I’ve told you before. Call me “Abby” one more time and you’ll find out just how deadly having me as your enemy can be.”
“My threat still stands. Either you come up with something useful, or I’ll blow your cover. Tell me if- ”
Abigail hung up the phone, rolling her eyes. In her first lifetime she had hung on his every word, laughed at every joke, obsessed over every compliment.
Of course in that lifetime she hadn’t remembered what it felt like to die.
She thought over his threat to reveal her communications with him, her eyes narrowing as she reviewed her options.
Guess this means I go with plan C. She winced, not happy. Of course it always was the most certain plan to achieving my revenge… If only…
“Abigail?”
If only it hadn’t involved trusting HIM.  Sighing quietly Abigail blanked her expression and turned to face the newcomers.
“Ben.” She greeted her murderer from a previous lifetime, unable to summon enough energy to smile at him. A polite nod would have to do. He didn’t seem to mind, he responded with a bright smile, looking around her workshop with unbridled enthusiasm.
“Are we interrupting your work?” He asked, his eyes focusing on the metal object in her hands. Two men entered behind him, also glancing at her curiously.
“You’re fine, just tweaking a few things on the shielding ray.” She tossed it to him. “Check it out.”
Ben caught it, studying it for a brief moment before activating it, his whole body was surrounded with a bright blue beam of light. “Ooh, I like the quick activation time!” He turned to the young man on his right. “Hey Ronnie, shoot me!”
His friend, who Abigail vaguely recognized as a minor superhero with speed time powers, frowned at his suggestion. “That seems a little extreme, Ben. What if it doesn’t work?”
“That’s because you haven’t seen one of these things in action. Abigail’s work is amazing! Ben shook his head. “Come on, don’t be such baby. Shoot me!”
“No.” He turned to Abigail. “Would you do the honors?”
She didn’t bat an eye. “Sure.” She drew her gun, shooting him five times in the chest.
“ARE YOU CRAZY?! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Ronnie shouted, racing forward to take her gun away.
Not wanting him to touch her weapon, she tapped her wrist, firing a bright white beam from her bracelet, which froze him in place. It only lasted a few moments, but by the time he had broken free, Ben had stepped between them.
“Ronnie, buddy, I’m fine! The shielding ray worked perfectly. “ He turned towards Abigail with a slight frown. “Although could you maybe not enjoy shooting me quite so much?”
Abigail shrugged, “We all have our vices.” There was something cathartic about shooting the man who had murdered you, even if he had been drugged at the time and it had been in another life. It would be more abnormal if she didn’t enjoy it under those circumstances.
“Umm… I’m going to table to the whole ‘shooting me is your vice’ discussion to a later date. Let’s focus on the reason for being here: Ronnie, Zeke, what do you guys think of the shielding ray.”
Ronnie made a face. “Seems effective enough.”
The other young man, thin, tall with thick glasses and a seemingly permanent sneer on his face, merely snorted derisively and turned away. Abigail studied him a little closer, curious.
Zeke…don’t tell me… Z?!!
Z had been a famous inventor on the heroes side in her last life. He had invented multiple ingenious weapons, some so complex that she had developed a sort of grudging respect for him. They had been secret rivals on different sides, not only trying to out-invent the other, but frequently they would steal and upgrade the other’s designs as well.
Abigail couldn’t help but smile as she remembered the satisfaction of cracking Z’s blueprints and making his designs even better. At the time she had been mostly looking to impress Jack, but her secondary goal had been to piss off the hero inventor as well.
Ben sighed at the negative reaction from his friend. “Come on, Zeke, what didn’t you like? It worked perfectly.”
The sour faced man snorted again. “Yeah. Too perfectly.” Stomping up close to Abigail, he stuck a finger in his face. “There’s no way that you came up with that design on your own. Who helped you?!”
Abigail raised an eyebrow. “I helped myself.”
“That’s impossible.”
“Why is that?”
“Your barely grown. You’re what…. eighteen? Plus you’re… you’re…”
“A woman?” She suggested with a wry grin.
Zeke’s face reddened. “I WASN’T GOING TO SAY THAT! You haven’t even got a degree! How are you qualified to work here?!”
Abigail spread her hands. “I have a qualification.”
“What’s that?”
“It’s called: ‘I’m better at your job than you’.”
“YOU-“ He lunged forward, but was caught by Ben.
“Come on guys! No need to fight! We’re on the same team after all! Besides, Zeke, I wouldn’t underestimate her, I’ve seen her work.”
Zeke continued glaring at her. “It could be faked, I doubt she has any real ability.”
“Really?” Abigail laughed. “Then let’s try this.” She stretched out her arm, shooting him with the freezing ray. As he solidified into place, she stepped forward, searching his pockets.
“Abigail…” Ben warned her, although his eyes were laughing.
“Don’t worry, I just need to pick up…. this!” She lifted the weapon from his pocket successfully.
“The shockwave gun?” Ben looked confused.
“Yeah, give me three minutes.” She took it back to her workstation, quickly disassembling the weapon. It was a intricate piece of work, the attention to detail in the mechanism almost a work of art in itself. The first time she had seen it, it had taken her three days to understand how the weapon worked, and another week to improve upon the design. If she had gone head to head with Zeke in her last lifetime under a time crunch, she would have been hard pressed to win, as he simply just had more experience than her.
Of course, that was simply not the case anymore.
“Done.” She had overestimated. It had only taken her 2 minutes and thirty seconds. She pointed the weapon at a few test dummies in the corner.
BAM!
A shockwave went out, knocking over about half of the practice dummies.
Zeke rolled his eyes, still unable to move, while Ben looked unfazed. “It doesn’t really seem very different, sorry. “
Abigail grinned.
BAM! BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM!
The remainder of the mannequins fell under the rapid fire.
“You made it capable of multiple shots!” Ben was practically jumping up and down with excitement. Zeke had turned pale, his eyes wide with shock. Abigail felt a little bad about making it seem so easy to figure out and improve his design, but remembering his attitude on meeting her, decided it was probably good for him.
“Alright that’s enough playing for one day.” With a regretful look she unfroze Zeke, who without superpowers had been unable to free himself, and waved goodbye at them.
“THIS- this isn’t over!” With a shouted threat Zeke ran out, muttering about revamping all his designs.
“Not bad, newbie.” Ronnie nodded respectfully, before following his screaming friend out.
Ben grinned. “Thanks for the good time, Abigail. As always, your work is impeccable.” He turned to leave.
“WAIT.” Abigail called out, her voice cracking with nervousness. As he paused, looking at her with a curious expression, she cleared her throat uncomfortably and continued. “I have something I need to talk to you about.”
“Sure, but why so serious?” He chuckled.
Abigail stared at him silently for a few moments, before sighing. “I’m going to need to make tea.”
She brewed some tea, and sat down across from him, uncertain of how to start.
“Hey, you know you can tell me whatever is bothering you. I may not be able to help, but I can listen.” Ben reached out to touch her hand, but she shied away. She still didn’t like close contact with him. It brought back bad memories.
“What I’m about to tell you will seem unbelievable. You may think I’m a liar, may think I’m crazy, but every word of what I’m about to say is completely true.”
She took in a deep breath.
“In my last lifetime, you killed me.”
Starting from there she told him the whole story. Her previous life as a supervillain minion. The mission the distract him. Realizing he was drugged.
Dying at his hands.
When she mentioned waking up as an eight year old again, he blinked, seeming to think of something before his expression became blank once more. The remainder of the story didn’t take long.
“So I’m still keeping in contact with Jack, but I’ve switched sides, hoping to take him down this time.”
“… Is it solely for revenge?” He asked her, his eyes still strangely blank.
“What do you mean?”
“Do you think the only reason you were reborn was to take revenge?”
Abigail held up her hands in a helpless gesture. “I can’t think of any other reason for me to have a second chance like this. So the real question is, will you help me?”
Ben shook his head. “I won’t help you kill him. But it does seem like the world would be a better place with him behind bars. I help you with that.”
“It won’t be easy.” Abigail warned. “He has some sort of power over people. He can make anyone his ally. It’s why he was so successful as a super villain last time. “
“Do you have a plan?”
“I have several. It just depends on how he decides to move.”
“Okay.” Ben stood up. “I need to think all this through. Can we talk more tomorrow?”
Abigail stood up as well. “Sure.” She paused, reaching out to shake his hand. “Thanks for believing me.”
He shook it, seeming to sigh quietly. “No problem.”
With that he was gone.
Abigail sat back down, groaning. “I did it.”
She told Ben the truth.
And he believed her. She now had an ally, and Jack had lost his only piece of leverage. This time she would defeat him.  This time she would live.
The sensation of dying overwhelmed Abigail once more, and she huddled into her couch, rocking back and forth.
She could only hope that defeating Jack would finally let her heart be at ease.
Ben walked quickly down the hall, ignoring all the called out greetings from his fellow heroes and support staff. His only goal, all of his focus, was on getting back to his room as soon as possible.
It can’t be.
Even as he denied it in his heart, he knew Abigail was telling the truth. Her eyes as she described her own death… no human should have those eyes, least of all a young girl like her. The hopelessness as she described how in her previous life she had been used and discarded… it made him want to break something.
He knew she had been surprised at how easily he believed her story.
As he arrived in his room, he opened a secret compartment in the back of his closet, pulling out an ornate wooden box with a complicated lock. It had been a gift from his mother, who hadn’t been human. With shaking hands he slowly unlocked and opened it.
His heart stuck in his throat.
His mother had given him a present, a bright red glowing gem.
The Gem of Fate she had called it.
He could use it once and only once to change a fate, including his own if he so chose. It would be better not to ever use it though, as changing the fate of anyone could have terrible unexpected consequences. Heeding her warning, he had locked the gem away, never touching it, never even looking at it beyond the first time.
Yet here it was.
Resting quietly in the box where he had left it.
The glow long gone.
It had been used.
He never remembered using it, and it was impossible for anyone else to try to use it. Which could only mean one thing:
Abigail’s story was accurate. He had been drugged, and murdered her in cold blood.
He then used the stone to change her fate.
Idly, he wondered when the glow had faded from the stone in this lifetime. Mostly likely when she had returned as an eight-year-old girl. It could never be used again.
And she wondered why he believed her.
It’s because he knew exactly why she got a second chance. It hadn’t been for revenge, or to have her work with him against the man who trapped both of them.
“It was for you to live a happy life.” He whispered to himself. He didn’t remember activating the power, that version of himself was lost forever. But he knew he would have done exactly the same thing under those circumstances.
Let’s live well this second time, Abigail.
He sat down in the darkness of his room, staring at the now useless gem, his thoughts on all the different possibilities.

PlatinumGames Talks "World of Demons" and Bringing White-Knuckle Action to Mobile
Disclosure: I was flown to Osaka to visit PlatinumGames' studio for the official reveal of World of Demons.
We have one more World of Demons story to round out our coverage, and fans of PlatinumGames should find this one especially illuminating. After trying the developer's first foray into mobile gaming for myself, I had an opportunity to sit down and fire off a few questions in a one-on-three discussion with Platinum's Head of Game Design and World of Demons Creative Director Masaki Yamanaka, Platinum's Lead Game Designer and World of Demons Co-Director Kento Koyama, and World of Demons Producer and Product Owner Andrew Szymanski of DeNA.
  * * *
You mentioned that the move to mobile gaming came first before the World of Demons concept itself. How quickly did you arrive at this concept?
Masaki Yamanaka: Actually, at the time when Andrew approached our company about wanting to make a mobile game with us, I already had an idea sort of like this in mind. I had even made a design document for a similar action game with this sort of traditional Japanese styling. From there it took about three months to work out the details. So it wasn't like "oh, let's make a mobile game, okay let's do this," immediately, but the seeds of the idea were already there.
What was the most difficult aspect of translating the PlatinumGames vision to a mobile platform?
For the most part it wasn't that difficult to just put a game on the mobile device, but design-wise I'd say the hardest part was, you know, we're going from having a controller with a lot of buttons to a touch interface where you're much more limited. So, just sort of iterating through, okay, what do we cut? What do we streamline? How do we get a game like this on such a limited input device? That was the biggest challenge.
To go a little further on that, our goal was really, how can we make a game that uses this touch interface without losing any of the appeal; any of the enjoyment of playing one of our games on a controller.
To me, PlatinumGames titles are all about the timing of the dodge. I was surprised at how intuitive it was to pull this off on a touch screen. Did it take a long time to figure out a solution for this type of control scheme?
We want this sort of touch-based game to still be just as fun as any controller-based game, and one thing we value very highly is the response, the feeling. So we worked really hard to make sure all of the inputs, not just dodging, but everything you do with the touch interface, feels better than it has before. That was something we put a lot of effort into.
As your first mobile game, what do you think is most important for keeping players engaged for long periods of time; to keep them playing for months and beyond?
Kento Koyama: We feel that the first, most important element that will keep players engaged is this idea of growing and developing as you play. There are really three main axes among which players can do that in World of Demons. They will build out their Samurai, their player character; their collection of Yokai, which provide skills; and then their weapons, which have an effect on the player's attacks themselves.
We also want that not to be just an "Oh, I have to play for this amount of time to level up in this way," we want it to actually feel rewarding to players, to develop themselves and grow stronger. We think, whether they're playing for a short amount of time or a long amount of time, we want them to just really enjoy it and stay with it.
You mentioned not wanting to introduce any paywall that slows the game down or blocks off content—which is something that's prevalent in mobile gaming—so how do you go about structuring live services for World of Demons and determining value for the content?
Andrew Szymanski: So yes, I mentioned earlier today that we don't want to lock anything behind a paywall; we want people to experience the content that we have. It's the same reason we don't have artificial timers and things like that, other than very specific instances. Looking at that from a live ops perspective, and touching on what Koyama-san just said about the three different level up mechanics you have, that loop is always going to continue.
So the idea is, as he said, whether you're playing for a long time or a short time, to always be having these rewards that are being provided so you can power up your character. The goal with that is, for instance, when we first launch and we have, say, two story chapters, you can go back and play on higher difficulties, which, the only way to beat those difficulties is to level yourself up. Those have better rewards, bigger drops, and things like that.
I didn't beat an Intermediate stage.
Yeah. (Laughs.) You're not supposed to at first.
  I ran out of time.
(The laughs continue at my very honest but bad gaming confession.)
So getting back to your question about live ops, when we release new content, as I mentioned this morning, it's not gated. If we release a new story chapter, if we release a new character as part of that story—and that also includes Yokai and things like that—as long as you've hit the right level of progression, you've gotten far enough in, you can play immediately. The goal is not to sell that content, by any means, that's the last thing we want. The goal is for people to be engaged with that content and be constantly feeding back into that loop where you're upgrading yourself. The products we offer for purchase are essentially about having either shortcuts or other methods of expanding upon those level up mechanics.
You could get any given minion from a drop from a mission, and the higher the difficulty the better the chance for that mission's boss to drop his minion. But, if you're impatient and you just want to catch 'em all, so to speak, you can go in and do the summon using in-game currency and that can provide a method to get a lot of these quicker. We really see that cycle not changing in live ops. It's less about selling individual pieces of content as it is continuing to provide more content to the players who want to see more and more of what we have to offer, and then feeding that back into the existing loop Koyama-san mentioned earlier.
You showed off a few different types of multiplayer so far. Were there any other modes you experimented with, or maybe some that will arrive at a later date that you can talk about?
Masaka Yamanaka: We did of course try out several different multiplayer options, and there are a few of them that made it into our idea stock for future editions. That is something we're looking to expand upon throughout the life of the game.
For the single-player story mode, is there an 'endgame' planned, or will you keep new seasons going as long as you have ideas?
We do have plans for now to extend the story mode for a while; we can't say much more beyond that.
Andrew Szymanski: At launch the game will have two story chapters, one of which you were able to access today. That will be followed up within a short period after launch with additional story content. That will kind of form, in a sense, the first season of content, if you will. It will provide a narrative stopping point while also hinting at what will come beyond that. As Yamanaka-san mentioned, we already have a lot of ideas of where we want to take the story after that, and that will be coming into play as we get a little further out from launch.
The game has a distinct ukiyo-e style to it, and you even recreated aspects of some of that original art in the game. Was this decision made very early in development, and who is in charge of the art team for World of Demons?
Masaki Yamanaka: In terms of the overall art direction, that was my idea. The art itself is done by a woman named Rie Ota. One thing we really liked about her work is it doesn't feel like anime, it doesn't feel like a comic; it feels like Japanese traditional artwork, so that was really appealing to us.
World of Demons is full of Yokai and Oni; were there any inspirations beyond their origin in Japanese folklore, such as classic manga like GeGeGe no Kitaro and other series that featured mischievous spirits?
Of course we're all familiar with the works of Shigeru Mizuki, who made GeGeGe no Kitaro; all of us were familiar with that since we were kids. So actually, we deliberately avoided influences from more pop culture interpretations of Yokai. We really focused on Sekien Toriyama's adaptation of the Yokai parade concept; on those Edo period, traditionalist interpretations. I'd say we actively avoided taking influence from Kitaro.
Beyond Yokai, how deep does the folklore connection go? Are there any aspects of the story derived from famous tales like Momotaro or Taketori Monogatari?
The main influence was the Yokai parade story, but there was another legend in particular which we also drew influence from: The tale of the samurai Onitaiji. It's a story of a samurai fighting this legendary Oni named Shuten-Doji, who also does appear in this game. So that was another big touchstone for us in this.
Kento Koyama: This was the story of Miyamoto no Yorimitsu.
Andrew Szymanski: He was an actual historical figure, and the records claim that the Emperor at the time had asked him and his band of samurai to go and kill this extremely powerful Oni warlord that was terrorizing the countryside, and this is actually considered to be a historical event. If you go to the Tokyo National Museum there's actually a famous multiple-panel illustration based on that event. That's something the team has tried to bring in and use as a framing device for the story.
It might have happened! You mentioned Matt Alt's work on the scenario. How much input did he have in the story, and has this made simultaneous localization easier?
Masaki Yamanaka: He's had a very deep influence, and we worked together quite closely on the story. I would just send him some advice, like, oh I'd like for this to happen, and we would discuss it.
Andrew Szymanski: Matt and his wife Hiroko [Yoda] wrote the script, and the English version was the original version. This isn't even actually a localization, it was originally written for the purpose of taking these traditional Yokai, and the reason we went to Matt and Hiroko is we wanted them to incorporate not only an interesting story, but to also be able to explain and teach about these Yokai in a way that would make sense within that framework.
Yeah, I noticed a lot of humor while playing; was that then translated back for the Japanese version?
What Matt and Hiroko did was then converted back into Japanese in a way that made most sense for the Japanese audience.
Masaki Yamanaka: We didn't want the story to be extremely serious, so we wanted to inject moments of humor in there. The big thing behind that is Yokai are just weird; they're strange, they're not all evil, and not all of them that appear in the game are evil. So we didn't want to constantly focus on this terror of fighting these monsters. There is a tension there between the ones that are bad and the ones that are a little funnier, but we didn't want it to be super serious.
Moving on to more general questions, what is the game that inspired you to become a developer?
Masaki Yamanaka: Daimakaimura (Ghouls 'n Ghosts). I played it in the arcade when I was a kid, and it was very difficult, but I did manage to beat it.
  Both times?
Yeah! I finally beat it and there was a credit roll, and I was like, "Wait, this was made by people?," and that moment inspired me.
Kento Koyama: Smash Bros. There were a lot of games that I played and enjoyed and that inspired me, but Smash Bros. was the first game I played that made me aware that games are made by people; they have creators behind them.
This can be the same answer or a different choice, but what is your favorite game of all time?
Kento Koyama: To limit it to a recent game, it would be Rainbow Six Siege. It's my favorite recent game because it's not just a lot of fun and well made, it's also really useful to study from a design perspective; it's enjoyable and well designed.
To broaden my answer, Final Fantasy V.
Masaki Yamanaka: If I were to think back at the game that held my rapt attention for the longest, that I got the deepest into, that would be Puyo Puyo 2.
Since I'm with Crunchyroll, I have to know if you have a favorite manga or anime.
  Masaki Yamanaka: Parasyte.
  Kento Koyama: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
Masaki Yamanaka: I like Parasyte a lot, so when you play Resident Evil 4 and you see that Krauser has—
  Oh, the hands!
It's not a ripoff. (Laughs). I designed that character but I didn't rip it off, so don't believe anyone who tells you.
  * * *
As a bonus, I thought I'd share a few photos from my visit to Platinum's offices in Osaka. Here's a quick glimpse of what we got to check out during our tour and meeting with various World of Demons staff members.
Here's a wide view of the office, or at least the portion we were allowed to see:
Environment Artist Yasutaka Maeki shows off his work:
Character Modeling Artist Muneyuki Kotegawa puts one of the more spine-tingling demons on display:
Animator William Iamazi Ferro puts World of Demons' characters through the motions:
Composer Hiroshi Yamaguchi played a live sample of the pumping traditional soundtrack for us:
Before leaving, I had to snap a photo of all the consoles they have to play around with:
And it was worth waiting for Hideki Kamiya to show up for this. It turns out my head is actually a little shinier!

Paper Mario: The Origami King
I loved Paper Mario: The Origami King. A lot. It's my first Paper Mario game and it is an understatement to say that I adored it. Enough so that I want to write a full review on my thoughts for the entire game. o-o It’s been so long since I’ve felt the need to do that and it feels good. It feels so good. T-T
So let’s do this. :D This is going to be a long one, and I’ll probably put the cut right before I start talking about individual chapters. Hopefully before that there are no major spoilers, but afterwards its’ a free for all discussion. So spoilers will be present! :D
A Brief History of my Relationship With Paper Mario
I saw an Arlo video talking about it when I was randomly browsing videos on his channel (I found him for something else believe or not) and I think that was the first time I even realized this franchise existed. Lol. (Which is funny because I have a Wii U and Paper Mario: Color Splash was like the last big game for that console).
I was curious so I browsed the Paper Mario Reddit and watched his Color Splash reviews and got interested in the series.
I ended starting to watch play throughs of Thousand Year Door (where I am mostly through the game? The players just finished the area where you get Vivian) and Color Splash (where I am halfway through the game maybe?).
My opinion on both games: They both look fine. TYYD has it’s good points. Color Splash has its good points. I feel like I would be irritated by random battles in both of them, no matter the combat methods. Lol.
But honestly I leaned more toward Color Splash because I love the Paper Aesthetic. Good story + Paper Themed World = My jam.
Which  means that first Origami King trailer smacked me in the face because it looked like I’d be getting both. I preordered the game as soon as I saw the trailer and it did not disappoint. Lol.
General Stuff
The Good: The characters! I adored all of them. Every character, whether generic minion or unique, was bursting with fun dialogue and moments that made me smile. Olivia was precious. I want an Origami Olly to put in my room (I love him so much) and the Legion of Stationary was surprisingly fleshed out. They were easily my favorite bosses in the game, which was a surprise after all the teasing they got in the trailers. Lol.
Plus: LUIGI. Oh my gosh. He’s amazing in this game. XD
The Music doesn’t need my praise. Everyone has praised the music in this game and it deserves it. Every. Single. Track. Is the greatest and I love this soundtrack. I’m listening to it right now (Where can I buy this Nintendo. TELL ME).
I also really enjoyed the battles. It had a nice blend of Turn Based & Overworld Action, keeping things mixed up and fresh. I wasn’t great at some of the combat (Which I’ll talk about below in the chapter by chapter section) but the game makes stuff easier if you fail too much...which I appreciated. LOL.
Oh. And the Confetti thing. I liked it. Filling holes with confetti was satisfying in a nice completionism way. It was kinda soothing, too, and it was nice to physically repair the world in addition to trying to save it in general.
The Critique: The game needed more time with Olly. I’m not just saying that as someone who loved him, I’m saying it as a story miss. We see Olly at the beginning. And we see him for like two seconds at a time between chapters to half-handedly ask Olivia to join him, and then...the final boss fight. One or two cut-away scenes showing what Olly and Peach were doing between the Streamer Banners would have been great and done wonders for fleshing out the story.
The Combat: Opinions on this have been highly mixed. Specifically, I have noticed a large crowd saying the combat is too easy; they line everything up on the first turn and kill everything on the first turn and then they’re drowning in coins so there’s no point to battle.
And then there’s Me: I rarely got the puzzle right on the first turn, which means I didn't get the bonus coins, and I usually burned through weapons and faster since I didn’t get the “Great Line Up!” on the first turn bonus. So I was...constantly fight enemies for coins (Stuff gets expensive in this game) and using them to get help from the Toads.
So when I got puzzles right on the first turn, I felt super accomplished. Lol. I did eventually get better at them (and used one of the help items from the Battle Toad) and was beating them in one turn 60% of the time. So while I really enjoyed the puzzle turn-based battles, I can see how some would get tired and bored of them.
I think a difficulty setting might fix the wildly different experiences with this. The puzzles get much tricker later, so if you’re solving even those too fast--the game could have given you harder stuff to solve.
Though it is sort of funny. If you do well at puzzles, you get a ton of extra bonus coins. But if you’re good at the puzzles, you don’t need those coins since coins are mostly spent on “Getting help for puzzles.” Which the people who are bad at puzzles need but don’t get...fun times.
Boss battles, however, were mostly scripted and I’ll talk about those in detail in the spoiler section below. XD
The Game
Okay! Let’s get into the meat and talk about each Streamer Section individually. o-o Whoooooooo. I’m glad the Game8 Wiki has a nice layout for me to reference. XD
Prologue
This is when I knew I was going to love the game. Luigi is adorable. Origami Peach is every bit as creepy as the trailer promised. And Olly stealing the castle was great. :D
The Red Streamer
This entire streamer is a tutorial. I can see how that could get irritating if you don’t like Olivia holding you hand (and I have seen many complain about it), but this is the only chapter where she does that.
Which I understand. Every streamer follows the same sort of pattern (explore two or more themed areas to open up a path to a temple, beat a temple, beat a Vellumental, go clear the boss building/area, fight the Stationary Boss). Giving the audience a clear how-to guide to get through an entire Streamer Chapter isn’t the worst.
Plus Olivia is adorable and I used X to talk to her all the time, whether I needed the hint or not. Lol.
Whispering Woods
The mini story with the trees and the the little Toad camp ground are cute. I was surprised that I had to back track here later in the game a few times. XD
Toad Town
The hub world! Here you can find the Museum (which has all the fast travel pipes), the Battle Practice area (which if you visit 3x will give you items to make the Ring battles easier), and the shop (please remember to actually use your membership card you get from here and don’t be like me who paid 24,000 coins in the late game for a collectible when I could have had it HALF OFF but I forgot to equip the membership card).
It also features: A cool Graffiti area I need to visit again because I heard it gets more art as you progress through the game, many Macho Gumbas to beat, the Docks, a Toad that’ll tell you what Power Up Hearts you are missing, more fast travel options, and a great scene with Luigi that kick-starts his sub-story as he hunts for Princess Peach’s Castle Key.
Picnic Road & Overlook Mountain
So many hidden Toads. Everywhere. XD It’s a very lovely area, but again, since this is a tutorial-ish Streamer there isn’t much there aside from enemies to practice fighting and a lot of examples of how Toads hide (including in the ground, in walls, as folded origami, on the other end of small over world puzzles, etc.)
Earth Elemental Temple & Fight
I loved the lead up to this Temple. The fake Koopa one with the small tour boxes was so great. It was funny, cute, and I loved that the fake Temple Tour ended with a real Temple.
The fight was easy (again...tutorial streamer) but I still messed up a few times. Lol. It took me a while to get the hang of the boss rings (and I kid you not, it was like five streamers in before I realized you could move the boss ring panels front and back in addition to rotating the rings).
Olivia turning into a Vellumental was a huge surprise. I’m not sure how I feel about it as a whole, but they use her transforming powers the entire game, so it’s thematically appropriate.
Overlook Tower & Colored Pencils
Fighting your way up the tower to get to the boss was fun. I loved the elevator bits & the drawings everywhere (Colored Pencils drew Olly!!!).
It was a very nice introduction to the future “Boss Building before the Fight” that you’ll face in every Streamer.
Also Colored Pencils having a personality was such a delight that I couldn’t help but grin. Legit, the Legion of Stationary are some of my favorite characters and I’m amazing at how much life and personality they shoved into these office supplies.
I’m sad they die afterwards though. T-T
But with the Red Streamer done, the game stops holding your hand and the game really gets going. :P
The Blue Streamer
One word: Bobby.
It’s fun having the second world be your favorite in the game. Lol. But it just hit all the right beats and made a great impact.
Autumn Mountain
Very pretty area. Lets you get to know Bob-omb (aka “Bobby” as Olivia likes to call him) and his personality as you explore a gorgeous, autumn area. Lots of warm colors and great music tracks. It had a few frustrating areas with the stupid falling Chestnuts (oh my gosh how long did it take me to figure out I needed to hit the wall to break it lol), but overall a good area.
Water Vellumental
I cheated on the slide puzzles. I’ll admit it. I paid the coins to have the Temple solve its own puzzles. LOL.
Years of playing Zelda made me terrified of a Water based Temple but it wasn’t that bad aside from the slide puzzles. A very lovely temple with a great design.
The boss fight was one of the easier ones, but I was still getting the hang of figuring out the pathing for boss fights so it took me a while to figure out how to execute the things I wanted to do (I figured out early I had to use Olivia’s Earth Vellumental form to avoid the Water Attack, but I wasn’t so good at lining u the On Button and the Magic Circles to do it lol).
Eddy River
Lord this was annoying. I missed one of the Holes to fill with confetti and that was the moment were I was like “I will never 100% this game” because the thought of going down that river again made me go “No.” XD
Shogun Studios
I loved running around this amusement park. There were puzzles and character interactions everywhere. (So many item trades between NPCs lol) and the Ninja Mansion was fun. Even if I had to do it twice because I missed Luigi the first time around...
Big Sho’ Theatre & Rubber Band
This was amazing.
Riding the up the tower in the audience seats. The captured Toad audience. The paper Macho actors. The different stage plays. Rubber Band yelling in the background before showing up as the Diva they are.
The Rubber Band fight was also a blast. I figured out the trick immediately and had a great time wrecking that boss. XD
It was fun. The Rubber Band Tower & Fight are easily my 2nd favorite Boss Area and Fight in the game.
Sweetpaper Valley to Breezy Tunnel
I know this area is technically part of the Yellow Streamer, but it feels like an interlude section, so I’m putting it in its own section.
I will admit, I had this part of the game spoiled for me. I knew about what happened to Bobby and I was like “Really. The game’s going to go there.”
And it did.
When you get to the Valley, Olly drops a bolder on Olivia and Bobby’s like “I know how to fix this.”
He takes you on an awesome adventure through the Princess Peach Cruise Ship that involves an incredible Macho Battle on the boat and the retrieval of a special item, and then when you get back...
Bob-omb saves Olivia.
The death of Bobby itself wasn’t the sad part. Honestly it was a little funny because the bolder explodes into a bunch of confetti that Mario picks up as he walks through it.
The sad part is Olivia.
When she realizes what happened to Bobby and runs away. Ug. Sitting with her in the dark as she sobs. Her grief. It’s so sad in the best way. And then Bobby! Bobby tells you to cheer her up and man.
That tiny “That’s not fair” she says to Mario when he makes her laugh? That’s the spot that got me teary eyed for the first time in the game.
It’s so good and it solidified this game as an all time favorite. Even if the rest of the game was horrible, it can’t take that scene away.
The Yellow Streamer
The. Music. This area has my favorite music. Every track is such a jazzy, awesome beat and I could hang out in the Snif City Hotel Pool Room all day to listen to that song. XD
Scorching Dessert & Snif City
Driving through the Desert areas felt a little like padding since you had to keep backtracking everywhere, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as the Purple Streamer later, so in hindsight it’s less annoying. Lol.
Snif City has a fun design and I loved exploring it, along with the desert area. The Luigi cameo was pretty fun (as was the intentional game over I triggered to see the animation lol).
Professor Toad is a fun partner character, though I will admit I got stuck for a while because I didn’t realize you could use him to dig in spots that weren’t glowing (oops).
Olivia singing to raise the temple was a treat.
The Fire Vellumental
This temple is how I found out the game makes stuff easier if you fail too many times. There was a jumping area where you have to only jump on blocks that light up and I failed so many times it dropped all the blocks you couldn’t jump on. Uh. Oops. XD
The Fire Vellumental has my favorite design. It’s basically Moltres and Olivia looks awesome as a fire bird.
The Temple of Shrooms and Hole Punch
This might be my favorite Stationary Lair & Fight. The temple was great to explore. The Faceless Toads were fun and creepy. And oh my gosh the DJ dance room caught me so off guard I couldn't help but laugh.
Great music. Great Boss.
The fact he wouldn’t come out unless everyone was partying was fantastic. The fight itself was also pretty fun with the guy hole-punching Mario and having to find your pieces on the grid. The Hole Punch’s theme “Disco Devil” is also so good I can’t take it. Who gave a song a right to be that catchy?
I loved every second of this temple & fight.
Captain T.Ode
And then of course everything ends with Professor Toad finding the Toad he was looking for, finishing out his mini story arc. And using your fire powers to free him (And after the Shangri-Spa Toads worked so hard, too!! Lol).
The Purple Streamer
This is the only area of the game I didn’t like. It had a few good moments (Luigi and the Mushroom Island, a few of the puzzles islands) but overall I wanted to get through it as fast as possible and almost rage quit at one point.
The only saving grace was the ending with the Stationary Boss.
The Great Sea
It took me way too long to realize I had to take the boat out into the mist before it would prompt Captain T.Ode getting his submarine. WAY TOO LONG. I was sailing around aimlessly and screaming in the Museum wondering why the guy didn’t come get the Marino yet for like a solid thirty minutes.
Everything about this area was slow. Swimming from Island to Island. The loading screens between the Submarine sections. The small Island puzzles.
Just. Ug.
And of course when I find out I can upgrade the boat to go faster I didn’t have enough coins. So I had to go to another area to fight baddies to get coins and come back. XD
Even meeting Olly’s creator on an island (with a great Luigi sequence) was a disappointment. It was so short and all we really learned was that Olly is the one who made Olivia (which makes him more her Dad than her Brother...which I have talked bout before but will let the topic drop here for now). And that was IT.
Give me a flashback to Olly being made. Give me more of a hint to what the Origami Maker wrote to make the kid go nuts. Just. Something. Anything! *throws hands in the air*
The Ice Vellumental
This temple was annoying. The sliding ice puzzles were just...no. They aren’t actually that bad. I was just really burned out from all the sailing when I got to this temple and was in a bad mood. I’ll be fair--the temple itself was fine.
(Except for one area where you had to climb the stairs while dodging falling boulders and I kept messing up  my jumps and having to do it over and ARRRGH).
BUT THE BEAR.
I hate the bear. I had my first game over with the bear. I nearly rage Quit with the bear. And I beat him EVENTUALLY with 10 HP and because the game had pity on me and stuck the 1000 Arms Technique panel on the outer row.
I was fine up until the “Memorize the path and recreate it” section. The path would look easy. I’d remember where it was. But then the rings would get shuffled and I could not recreate the path for the life of me. I tried it so many times. I failed so many times.
*stares into the distance*
I watched a Youtube Tutorial that beat that boss in five minutes. It took me like an hour. There is a special type of frustration that comes from “I know what I need to do and I know the trick but I can’t seem to make it work.”
The Three Trials
I paid coins to make these easier. I was so done with everything by that point, that failing the stupid Strength Trial twice in a row was enough to just. End me. XD
The Sea Tower and Tape
A shining light in a horrible Streamer. Lol. The Tower was fun to climb and I got excited for the Tape boss.
Who did not disappoint.
His greaser Punk personality and calling Olly “Boss” was the first thing that made me really grin this entire streamer. Even Tape’s fight gimmick taping the panels down was almost a relief and a much easier fight than the Ice Vellumental.
I loved the Tape fight. XD
The Green Streamer
Aka “Kamek is awesome and bless the Bowser Minions.”
Shangri-Spa
I liked this area more than I thought I would. When I first got there and saw the theme of Angel Toads I was like “Why” and then I saw Bower’s fallen Castle, met all the minions paying off their debt cleaning, and Olivia thought Kamek was a housekeeper.
Bless all of it.
And then Bowser Jr. gets cut into pieces by a pair of scissors and it was like “Oh, shit.”
You fix him of course, but the implications were like “Dude, those scissors killed Bowser Jr.” I honestly think one of the reasons they leaned so much harder into the “paper” aesthetic was to get away with more violence/darker content. The entire Scissors lair and fight is the perfect example. It sort of follows TV and Cartoon logic - if it’s not human, you can get away with a LOT more violence (like robots getting ripped apart or derezzing characters in Tron).
It’s not actual gore, but if you think about what it symbolizes, it really hits you (and why Mario Game Overs getting cut in half instead of reviving with his Green Mushroom).
You get a small break after that exploring all the Spas and their mini puzzles to fix Bowser Jr. The Jungle Area is the longest of which and has some nice scripted Game Overs that are fun to trigger and Olivia, Kamek, and Bowser Jr. have a good “Pick me!” scenario that gets repeated.
The boss of his area is also Macho Chain Chomp which is a win in my book because Chain Chomp is Best Mario Baddie.
(I love Chain Chomps. I have a Chain Chompette on my Keychain.)
Bowser’s Castle & Scissors
I noticed a lot of people saying Scissors was their favorite Stationary Boss and I didn’t quite get why until this Castle & Fight. He’s not knocking Hole Punch out of the way on my own list (Seriously that Boss fight music), but he is up there on the “Dude” factor.
Scissors is creepy. He is a literal sadist who tortures everyone he gets his hand on. His shadow paper minions are creepy and have cool Ring Battles.
The mutilated minions he used to make up a paper Macho Buzzy Beetle was dark if you thought about it too long - but it was a great Kamek moment. XD
Scissors himself had a great “I want a challenge!” attitude and his fight was intense.
I also screwed up and broke the blade guard on the first turn and uh. I died very quickly. XD That note that says “DO NOT BREAK THE GUARD” wasn’t kidding. I’m not super at timing action commands, so uh, jumping over the blades didn’t work out so well (especially when Scissors started cheating...).
Second time went much better. I figured out how to time attacks to avoid hitting his guard. I got to see the awesome cut scene where he took the guard off. I actually dodged a hit. I had fun. XD
And then Bowser enters the scene for the final areas of the game. Whoooo!
Finale
Bowers’ Air Ship appearance was epic. Very cinematic and I loved how he was like “I might use this against you later.”
Mario and Bowser team ups never fail to disappoint, honestly.
The air battle was messed up.
After that entire scene with Bobby in the Blue Streamer...I am now firing Bob-ombs at planes freely and in mass numbers because I have bad aim. I just. I don’t know if I want to laugh or cry. XD
The crash landing and the race out of the volcano were fun, though.
Peach’s Castle & Olly’s Castle
Luigi finally brought us the right key. I haven’t talked about Luigi much, but every single one of his appearances brought a smile with them. I loved how he had a key in every chapter like clockwork, and even now, he came through.
Bowser talking about Luigi was also pretty great. XD
But most importantly:
I love Olly. His few appearances here desperately made me wish there had been more of him earlier. He’s a dramatic little brat and I want to hug him.
The transformation of Peach’s Castle to Olly’s Origami one? Amazing. One of my favorite cut scenes in the game.
Fighting the Origami Castle itself? Eh. Aside from the great music tracks, it was a little tedious. It lacked the cool levels of the earlier Boss Areas and was mostly “use 1000 folding arms” to progress. I didn’t hate the area, but it was a bit of a let down.
Stapler was nice though. He was a good dog. That I crushed in combat. o-o
King Olly
His throne room covered in Paper Cranes is my favorite designed room & man, I wish I remembered to take more screen shots. It was so creepy and so dark and it looked so good with this tiny paper King sitting alone next to an empty throne since Olivia “Betrayed” him.
I loved how his castle still had Olivia everywhere. Like they were meant to be together, but still separated. So good. T-T
The Princess Peach reveal was also so creepy and great.
But also made me wish for more cut scenes. Why did Olly want to make her into the wall? Why did he want her quiet? Did she annoy him? Or What? Tell me, game. Tell me!
Aesthetically it made the room look perfect though as his creepy little room. XD
As far as Olly's motivations go...I have mixed feelings. On the one hand, yes, it’s a little shallow. “A Toad wrote on me so now I’m going to destroy all flat paper beings and make them origami!” is sure...a thing. But I’m also a fan of Evil Characters that are just...evil. Maybe Olly really did just want to make everything Origami so they were like him. He was the first “Living” Origami creature and maybe he was just lonely. That’s why he made Olivia and wanted everyone to be like him.
But that’s also reading into it...and makes me want to write a fanfic exploring it, but this is a review. XD
I’m fine with “Olly was looking for any excuse to go nuts and take over the world and the writing will just have to do.” Even if it does make his little “I guess I lost so now I’m redeemed” moment feel forced. XD
The Fights
The Bowser Origami Sumo vs Giant Olly thing was...okay. I get what they were going for, but it kinda missed the mark with me.
The Actual Olly fight? Oh lord. I had to do it like 10 times.
I failed the Action commands...a lot. Which meant a lot of game overs since I went into the fight with like 40 health (I may or may not be bad at jumping and the Sumo fight throwing stars may or may not have wrecked my health) and didn’t doge Olly's attacks.
Thankfully the game made the ring puzzle easier each time so I could actually finish it.
And it only took me 4 times to get the action commands right? XD Something like that.
I DID IT which is the point.
(This is a case of “If I was better at gaming I would have loved the fight” but my poor skills made it longer and more tedious than it should have been - only’s awesome speech at the beginning loses its bite after the fourth time hearing it.)
The Final Cut Scene
Olivia saying Goodby to Olly had me teary eyed. Her holding his little hand. Reading the message their creator left. Olly’s request for her to make him into the last crane.
Olivia’s freaking WISH. Knowing that She, herself, was one of Olly’s creations.
The cut scene was beautiful. The cranes. The light. The castles’ return.
The party at the end. The two little empty thrones.
I was sniffing through the (very well done and great to watch) credits.
Olivia was such a good girl and I miss her and Olly so much.
This ending was the perfect example of “Wouldn’t change it because it made me sad in a good way but Bless Fanfics and their “Everyone Lives” alternate universes.”
THE END
The game had a few hiccups but overall? I loved it. I can very easily see how “Your first Paper Mario is your favorite” is going to hold true. Wonderful game.
I might have to actually go back and try to 100% the game to get that extra ending I’ve seen spoiled.

“if i could roll my eyes I would.”
“OW! DUDLEY, STOP IT!”
“GRIGOR’S A WEAKLING! GRIGOR’S A WEAKLING! WEAK WEAK WEAK~!”
Little Grigor kicked and clawed at his brother, tugging on his ears as he tried to get off the ground. He hadn’t consented to a brawl today. And he certainly didn’t consent to fighting with his older brother. The two looked almost exactly alike, save for the differences five years made between them. And as a result of those five years, Dudley was far bigger, far stronger, and already mastering his quirk.
Dudley Halwn. Quirk: Mimink. He can summon inky copies of himself and others, using them like puppets. And he currently had two of the miminks holding onto his legs to keep him from getting back up.
Their whole family was ink.
All of them, but him. Nearly ten years old and his quirk hadn’t manifested yet. Everyone was convinced he was quirkless. And he was sure of it too.
And that hurt more than his brother’s attacks.
“Dudley, get off him!”
Grigor looked up to see white inklings grab at his brother and tear him away, the miminks poofing into puddles of dark liquid. He slowly stood, looking around until his eyes met with the snow white figure standing a few feet away. He bolted over to him, whimpering slightly as he hid and gripped his coat tightly.
“Thank you Wyn,” Grigor whispered.
Wyn smiled, patting his little brother on the head as he released Dudley from his inky grasp. The two eldest sons stared at each other in silence. Neither moved. The silence only grew stronger.
“Protecting the little useless whelp again?” Dudley finally said. “Why am I not surprised?”
“If I could roll my eyes, I would, little brother,” Wyn snickered. “Only a coward would attack someone who can’t fight back.”
“Whatever.” Dudley walked past them, throwing a back kick to Grigor’s legs as he went. “I’m going home. Fuck off, you little bastard, if you know what’s good for you.”
Grigor winced, holding back tears. He never cried in front of his family. Never. But damn if today wasn’t a good reason to. He couldn’t fight. He couldn’t stand up for himself. He was an unhealthy, useless, good for nothing waste. He knew this for years.
And yet, only Dudley seemed to treat that like a problem.
“I’m sorry,” Grigor whimpered.
Wyn smiled, lifting him up onto his shoulders and heading toward the woods. “Come on. Let’s go for a walk. The meteors are going to be falling tonight.”
Grigor  rested his chin on his eldest brother’s head, listening to him talk about the stars and their stories. His brother spoke of nothing else. But he didn’t mind. It was soothing. There were times where Grigor often wondered if his brother was actually a star put into an Elspie human’s body.
“You know,” Wyn chuckled, “I didn’t find my quirk until you were born.”
Grigor’s eyes went wide. “But…but you’re in your twenties now. You were ten when mom had me.”
“But its true. I didn’t know what my quirk was. I thought I had no power.” He smiled fondly. “It wasn’t until I saw your wee face staring up at me and your little fingers gripping my thumb that somethin’ stirred in me.” He took a turn and headed up a stony path. “I found my ink three days later. I practiced and practiced. And now I can fight. Now I’m a licenced hero. And I do enough to live comfortably and use my quirk as I please.”
“You think I can still find my ink?”
“I’m certain of it. And even if you don’t, I’ll be there to look after you.”
“Promise?”
“I promise.”
The two made it to a rocky ledge overseeing the town. The night sky had completely made itself comfortable in the air, and drops of moonlight began to fly across the sky. Grigor looked up and watched, making a wish on every single one.
Please. Let me have the power so I can look after myself. So Wyn won’t have to worry about me anymore.
“DUDLEY!!!”
Grigor Alberi. Hero name: Inkwell. Quirk: Inkwell Creations (as the EHA called it). Can create inky demonic entities and real life objects using ink he can produce from his body.
Today, he was facing off against Inkdrop, a villain who was using his own inky abominations to run Aeron Village into the ground. He was the leader of the villains who took the entire town over when he first met his beloved.
And back the, Aurelia was right. Grigor Halwn couldn’t defeat those villains. Too much of a moral code held him down. Too much of a kind heart held him back. He wouldn’t find it in himself to be able to kill. Though he’d never admit it.
No, it took him several years of training. Several years of facing job after job that tore him down. Several years of working up the nerve to be able to face Dudley one on one.
And he didn’t find that nerve until a week before being approached by the EHA about joining their Elemental Geodes.
Wyn had been hospitalized. The only hero who ever managed to escape Aeron Village alive after a failed attempt to clear them out. When Grigor went to see him, Wyn was blank faced. His eyes, once full of life, now had lifeless swirls where his starry eyes once were. Grigor had asked him ‘did Dudley do this to you?’, and all Wyn managed was a smile and a soft ‘my wee baby brother’ in response.
While recovery was going to be possible, but Wyn would never use his ink for hero work again.
And this was the final straw.
As his ink demons ran through the town, slaughtering everyone in sight, Grigor stormed his way to the town hall and kicked in the door, charging at the figure waiting for him.
“Grigor?” Dudley snickered. “You’re the one killing everyone outside? I thought Heroes were righteous and good-”
“SCREW RIGHTEOUSNESS! I’M DOING WHAT I SHOULD HAVE DONE WHEN WE WERE CHILDREN!”
Ink creatures filled the room as the two brothers drew their weapons. A sword for Grigor, two for Dudley. Flames began to burn through the walls as the two clashed. Despite the years and despite the practice, Dudley was far too heavy footed. Where Grigor lacked strength, he made up for in flexibility. A bend backwards, a high kick coming down on the shoulder. Sparks flew as metal clanged, echoing in the fire.
“Hope you enjoyed your quirk,” Dudley laughed. “By the time I’m done with you, you’ll wish you remained a quirkless little maggot!”
A hard kick to the chest sent Inkwell skidding back, but he recovered, how ink minions flying to his side and the miminks tried to tackle him. He charged forward, his blade going upward in sharp slice, cutting open his brother’s shirt and vest, leaving a cut on the front of his torso. Not enough to kill.
Yet.
“That was for Wyn!” Inkwell bellowed. “The brother you so heartlessly scorned when all he ever was to you was kind and stern!” Another slice, this on going diagonal and sending the left sword flying away. “That was for the people of Aeron village, especially the Alberi clan who you so ruthlessly slaughtered for your villain’s haven!” Another diagonal cut, sending away Dudley’s right blade and removing two of his fingers. “That’s for my Aurelia, who you traumatized and took everything from!”
Another slice. And then another. And another.
“Grigor, stop-!”
“For our family you betrayed! For the innocent lives you stole! For the power you abused!”
“Grigor-!”
“For the power you took from our brother!”
“Please-”
“FOR THE YEARS OF HATRED AND ANGER I HAD TO ENDURE FROM YOU!”
One last swing, and he removed the left arm.
Dudley fell forward, the miminks vanishing as the ink flowed back to him to stop the wound. The smoke clawed at Inkwell’s lungs, cutting into his chest with deathly vigor. He sent his own ink creations away, knowing they’d set to work removing the pesky fire.
Dudley smiled darkly, laughing through it all. “So…you gonna kill me?”
“…no.” Inkwell stepped forward, giving him a kick to the face before grabbing the severed arm. “No, killing you would be too kind. And if I sent you to prison they’ll use you and your quirk. I trust the EHA way less than you. And you’re a cold blooded killer.”
“You call me cold blooded and yet you’re slaughtering everyone here.”
“You’re all S-rank villains. The people your bunch killed were innocent artisans. The difference is you’re scum and the other weren’t.”
“You don’t know that.”
“I do. Because you let two of those kind souls escape. And they were the reason for your downfall.”
With a snap of his fingers, the room began to fill with the dark liquid the brothers had become known for. The ink rose, slowly encasing Dudley within its grasps. The older brother struggled against it, but Grigor simply smiled sadly.
“You had everything,” Grigor said. “You had the quirk. The health. The power. The charm. The strength. You were always papa’s favorite. And now this is where you end. You could have continued the Halwn family legacy. Instead, the Halwn family will die with us.”
And with that, Dudley vanished into the ink. When the liquid retreated, a small snowglobe rested upon the floor. Inside was a perfect recreation of Aeron, with snow falling slowly in an unending splendor. Grigor went over and picked it up, looking to the town hall and smiling as he saw the little image of Dudley laughing insanely up at him.
This was the perfect punishment for him.
Three weeks since Aeron. Wyn finally started talking properly again. Inkwell had been visiting whenever he could. He brought him sketch pads and new pencils. He loved when his brother could draw growing up. And his art skills came in handy with their kind of power.
“So,” Wyn muttered. “How’re things at home?”
Inkwell shrugged. “Alright, I suppose. Aurelia’s happy to be moved back into her old home. Didn’t like the blood but…we got it cleaned up.”
“I see.”
“What about you?”
Wyn shrugged, turning to show off the portrait of his little brother. “I’m okay. Just a little lonely. My boyfriend broke up with me yesterday.”
“I’m so sorry.”
“Don’t be. I’d rather have company that wants me in return.” He paused. “I’ll admit though…I’m a little sad. We were considering adopting a baby together.”
That stung. Inkwell knew how badly the Halwn family’s health was. Having even one child was a miracle, and the fact that their mother had six was amazing. He and Aurelia had been trying for years. And still nothing.
“I’m so sorry,” he said.
“It’s alright.”
“Do you know what you would have called the child?”
Wyn smiled. “Harper. I’m tired of color names in the family, and I want to branch out. If I had a kid, or if I had a niece or nephew, I’d want a Harper.”
“Harper, huh?”
“Yeah.” He looked at Grigor, smiling softly. “What about you?”
“Aurelia and I haven’t been lucky yet. We want to have a kid but…it looks unlikely.” He smiled. “If we do though…I can ask if we can have a Harper.”
Wyn chuckled, and all the dark feelings in Inkwell’s heart fell to the side. Things would be okay.
Inkwell sat outside, enjoying the breeze as everyone inside the Aylward house was preparing dinner. He wasn’t up to socializing. He already had to lie to Davis about both the strange light from the night before and about how he’d found the horse. He couldn’t just not tell him about Amarysso.
And now, he had to figure out how to keep this a secret from the Geodes.
If L wasn’t invovled, he’d seriously consider just letting things play out and going to war.
“Damn this all to hell,” he sighed. “I’m too old for this shit.”
“I said come one come all enjoy the show!3 to get ready, nowhere to go-!”
“Ah, finally someone my age to talk to.” Inkwell pulled out his phone and answered cheerfully. “Pay for the ink machine.”
“Hello baby brother.”
A devilish smile crossed his face. “Wyn! Oh lord its been too long. How are you?”
“I’m okay. Just came to visit but you weren’t home. Now I’m with your wife at the doctors.”
His heart sand. “Doctor? What happened? What’s going on?”
“Uh…” Wyn paused, whispering to someone ‘should I?’ before turning back to him. “Well see…Aurelia wasn’t feeling well today so she asked me to take her to the doc. She’s okay though, don’t worry!”
“What the hell is going on that she’d need a doctor though?!”
“She just found out she’s pregnant.”
The world seemed to stop spinning. They’d been trying and trying for years. They were ready to go see a specialist or see about adoption. Most avenues were closed off to them given his career and their attempts to keep Aurelia safe from the EHA. As far as they knew, she was quirkless. Other avenues of child rearing would out her in an instant. But that was a risk they would take if it came down to it.
But now those risks didn’t matter.
The impossible miracle happened.
“How far along?” he finally asked.
“Two months according to the doctor,” Wyn explained. “He’s talking with your wife now. I offered to call you. Sorry, little brother. I know this is kinda personal but I couldn’t leave her alone and-”
“No, no. I’m glad you’re there with her. I got this big thing I’m sorting out. If it weren’t life or death, I’d be there right now.” He bit back tears. “Have her call me back as soon as she’s able, okay?”
“Of course.”
“And please protect her until I get back.”
“Always.”
“Thank you. I promise, I’ll be home soon.”
He quickly wrapped up the call and hurried inside. He found everyone in the dining room, about to sit for dinner. Gary sat at the head of the table, with Étienne and Ceri to one side while Lucien and Reginald sat on the other. L and Phoenix took the other head, leaving a space between Etienne and Phoenix for him.
“Hey Inkwell,” Ceri said. “We’re about to-” he stopped, his eye wide. “You’re crying.”
“Huh?” he put his hand to his cheek, surprised to find tears that weren’t of ink. “Oh. Yeah, I guess so.”
L quickly stood up, her lips pursed. “Is everything okay?”
“Yeah. Yeah it is.” He smiled softly. “I’m…I’m going to be a dad.”
Everyone nearly fell over.
“WHAT?!”
“I’m going to be a dad.” The news seemed to just be settling in on him as well. “I’m going to be a father. Aurelia’s having a baby.”
L smiled and hurried over, hugging him tightly. Ceri soon joined him and both were telling him congratulations. Gary cheerfully hurried to the kitchen to get the good wine. Étienne made a note in his pocketbook and Luci and Regi turned to look at each other, a newfound softness in each other’s eyes.
But Inkwell wasn’t paying attention enough to care what everyone else did. He was too busy crying into his niece’s and nephew’s hair.
Despite the upcoming trials, he was the happiest demon in the world.

My Awkward Life In Snapshots (Teen Wolf FanFic) Brothers and Bitches from School
Okay. So I am starting this notebook to record my life, because if I don't then I might not even believe myself. Plus, I want to read back and remember. So, here is the start. It started with my brother, Scott. Him and Stiles were constantly together, practically joined at the hip. I loved being with Scott, because he was my big brother. Stiles was also practically my brother. I never understood why they always insisted that I go everywhere with them. I asked mom and Stile’s dad once, and they both said it was because they were protective of me. Which makes sense, since it started shortly after I almost got kidnapped. Anyway, my big thing that I enjoy aside from being with Scott and Stiles, is photography. It gives me a sense of belonging and purpose. But what nobody knows, is that secretly, I like to do art stuff. I don't take classes at school, I just do whatever. Aside from that, I think I should put down my notebook. I think Scott or Stiles is coming down the hallway. "Hey brat! Where's Scott?" I heard Stiles before he even got to my door, which was closed. I hid my notebook under my mattress as my door flew open. "Stiles, what the hell? I could have been changing, you need to knock!" I sassed. "Well, you weren't so where's Scott? I need to talk to him." "I don't know, probably at work." I answered. Stiles just left, like the idiot he is. I rolled my eyes and closed my door, locking it this time. I locked my windows, dropped the blinds, and closed the curtains, safety pinning them together like I always do when I get my drawings out. I sat, and just drew. I have no clue how long I was drawing. All I know is the next thing I know, Scott is pissed off and threatening to beat down my door. I shove everything under my bed, and got up to open the door. "Sierra! How many times do I have to tell you; don't lock your door." Scott yelled. "Well excuse me, I'm not the one who has a rude best friend that barges in through a closed door without knocking first!" I yelled, throwing a shoe at him. He just laughed and ducked. I eventually cracked a smile too. We can never stay mad at each other. Just because I'm still in middle school, doesn't mean anything. "Hey, just keep your door unlocked. Do you think you'll be okay tonight?" He asked. I sighed, my nightmares were starting to border night terrors. It all was because of the attempted kidnapping of me. I just gave Scott one of those looks. He immediately came over and pulled me into a hug. "Do you want to stay with me tonight?" He wiped the tears from my face; I hadn't even realized that I was crying. I just nodded my head, clinging to him like he was going to disappear. Scott is my anchor, he is the one person I always go to. He scooped me up, turned off my light, and walked into his room. After he set me on his bed, he went to go get ready. Like always, I turned into my awkward taco self and put on his old clothes. Everyone thinks I'm weird, except Stiles, Scott, mom, and Sheriff Stilinski (I mostly just refer to him as dad). It's some kind of thing that helps with my anxiety, I don't know. I just know that he doesn't care. I was already in my pajamas, so I just shuffled under the covers, and got comfortable. I was just about asleep, when Scott came in. No more than a few minutes later, there was a noise outside. Scott didn't hear it at first but I did. "Scott, what was that?" I asked, panicking. I scooted closer to him, scared out of my mind. "It's probably just an animal or something. Calm down, I'm sure everything is-" THUMP. Scott heard that one. He grabbed a bat, and gave me his lacrosse stick. He knew I wasn't going to stay back. We slowly went downstairs, and out the door, onto the porch. Suddenly, Stiles popped up, causing me, Scott and Stiles to all scream. "What the hell Stiles?" I yelled. "Why do you have a bat, and why do you have Scott's lacrosse stick?" He asked. "I thought you were a predator." " Look, I know it's late, but you gotta hear this. I saw my dad leave 20 minutes ago. Dispatch called. They're bringing in every officer from the Beacon Department, and even state police." Stiles said. "For what?" I asked. "Two joggers found a body in the woods." "A dead body?" Scott asked. "No, a body of water. Yes, dumb-ass, a dead body." Retorted Stiles. "You mean like, murdered?" I cut in. "All I know is that it's a girl. Come on!" He said, taking off towards his jeep. We got in and drove to the Beacon Hills Preserve. Then, we followed Stiles into the woods. "Dude, where is this dead chick anyway? I'm freezing and hungry. And I want my camera." I said, pouting just to piss off Stiles. "Just, stop. Shit, hide. They're there, with the dogs." Stiles whisper-yelled. Scott jerked me behind a big tree with him, knowing I couldn't hide on my own. Sometimes I feel like a real burden on Scott and mom, mostly Scott. I'm in eighth grade, so I should be able to do stuff like this on my own, but I can't. I huddled with Scott, waiting for Stiles to get done talking to Dad. I slipped on a leaf, and fell. "Sierra, Scott, come here." he yelled. "Dad, it's just me. I came out with Stiles. Scott is looking at lacrosse stuff for me online. I thought I could go somewhere without him for a change, but I guess not." I said. "Okay you two, lets go. Sierra, Scott better be home when we get there." said Dad, even though I know that he just wanted to make sure I wasn't lying. I nodded, and walked with him to the cruiser, along with Stiles. Scott didn't get back for a long time, and when he did, I was on the verge of tears and a panic attack, fearing that he got caught by the murderer. "Scott, where were you? I was scared to death!" I said, watching him stumble into the bathroom. He lifted his shirt, and revealed some kind of animal bite. I came over and helped him wrap it up, and then we finally went to sleep. I was actually able to get sleep, because the nightmare/ night terrors don't happen when I'm with Scott and/or Stiles. The next morning, I got dressed, and Scott and Stiles dropped me off at school. Before I got out, Scott asked if I was serious about wanting lacrosse stuff. I told him I was, and he smiled and told me to get in the building for class. Mom doesn't want me playing lacrosse because it's dangerous, but I love playing with Scott and Stiles. I use Scott's old equipment when I play, but I don't care as long as I get to play. I walked through the doors, to begin my daily trip to hell. The day flew by quickly, at least until lunch. Jenna and her minions were back from being suspended, which I caused, and decided to pick on me. They broke my locker, found my camera, and smashed it. That was the last straw. I ran out, and called Scott. "Sierra, why are you calling me?" "Jenna smashed my camera, I can't take this anymore. I don't want to go through this anymore. I'm sorry." I sobbed, hanging up the phone. I continued on my way home, and had gotten into one of the bathrooms, when I found some pills. I thought for a moment, and decided it would be better if I was gone. I took about twenty different pills, and waited in the bath tub full of water. I was barely conscious when Scott broke down the locked bathroom door. "Sierra! No, stay awake, please! Don't leave, Stiles has 911 on the way. Just please stay with me." He was crying by this point. Then, I blacked out.

Thoughts on Klaroline
Hey, so I would like to take some time and appreciate my number one OTP that is Klaus and Caroline.
Tumblr media
I want to talk you all through each of their beautiful moments. Throughout eight seasons of TVD and a couple of the Originals episodes.
They contributed spectacularly to the popular notion of shipping in the Vampire Diaries. I’d like to think of them as one of the original epic ships in this vampire world. They certainly were a part of the greatest season of the Vampire Diaries, season 3. Klaroline has rocked the world in more ways than one and has been the most wanted ship since forever. People have been waiting, however long it takes because this ship is beyond eternal. It’s true. There’s no surprise that Caroline was the last vampire standing at the end of TVD. That exceedingly contradicts what Damon had said back in season 2 on Caroline’s first transformation. He said, “Caroline of all people will not make it as a vampire.” Looks like she outlived you, Damon, thus your words must taste as nasty as your character. Sorry, Damon fans, but I’m very much on the side of Caroline and truly believe he raped her. Anyway, Klaus and Caroline are known to do Delena better than Delena. Sorry, not sorry. Let me prove this…
Tumblr media
3x09: This is a moment that most people might not take into account, but I believe there is something to be dissected from this scene. Let me begin with quoting Klaus: “there’s Bonnie, there’s Elena and Matt…” Okay, so this is just Klaus pointing out all the people Tyler knew at the party, very simply by pointing them out and saying their name. But when it came to pointing out Caroline, Klaus had to give Tyler more details, for example, he says, “...and there’s your pretty little girlfriend, Caroline.” Now, Klaus might have added more information for Caroline because she was special to Tyler, but the only way he could single her out was by describing her as “pretty.” He could have just said “girlfriend,” that is certainly a simple way to single Caroline out from the rest of Tyler’s friends. But Klaus could not resist and called her pretty; this emphasises the fact that Klaus is very aware of Caroline’s beauty and he says it in a way to identify her. That Caroline and pretty is a package deal, beauty is a part of her identity. Or I could be overthinking the entire thing.
Tumblr media
3x05: This episode contained Klaus and Caroline’s very first meeting. Now it may not have been something special, but there is something quite symbolic about them meeting in a chemistry classroom. Given that they were to share the most chemistry of any other characters on the show, it only made sense. Also, Klaus instantly called her “love” when he first spoke to her. Now, I understand that this is a common term of endearment and it’s the way Klaus shows his ruthless self, by being his scary sweet self, but there’s something very endearing about him calling her love upon their first communication. Rebekah could have killed Caroline to prove to everyone how you should not fuck with the Originals family, yet she did not kill her. Granted, she had no reason to, but I think there could be something there between Rebekah and Caroline also. Great potential, but lost to a spin-off series.
Tumblr media
3x11: Now there is a lot one can deduce from this episode. Klaus had ordered his sire, Tyler to bite his girlfriend, namely Caroline. Klaus was not properly attached to her at that point. He wanted to prove himself to Stefan, show him how Stefan should NOT push him otherwise those around him would end up getting hurt. Caroline was just collateral, as said by Klaus himself. Thus, when it came to Caroline being bitten by a nasty werewolf bite and the only cure known was Klaus’ blood, it left Tyler with no other option but to beg Klaus to help her. Now Klaus had just about had enough of Stefan resisting him, what with ordering Klaus to remove his hybrids from town. Not long before Tyler asked Klaus for help, Stefan was calling the shots, threatening to drive Elena over wickery bridge. Thus, Klaus had every reason to let Caroline die, to show Stefan who was in charge here. Yet, he came to her door and after being invited in by the sheriff, made his way to Caroline’s bedroom. And from then on, something epic blossomed. From their first proper interaction, iconic quotes were spewed from Klaus as easily as he spews venom. Such human consideration, on Klaus’ part, was never before seen and we were seeing it for the first time ever. He told Caroline that she could choose to die, but advised against it. Klaus saw life in her even in death. He wanted her to live, told her she could “have a thousand more birthdays” and that all she had to do was ask. Caroline dying was a waste of a great life in his opinion, because “there is a whole world out there waiting” for her. And he so badly wanted to show her. Caroline expressed that she did not want to die, thus at her request, he saved her. It would have been better for his ruthlessness if he let her die, thus he can show Stefan who’s in charge here, yet he chose to save her because he believed her life to have real potential. Because she deserved the world.
Tumblr media
3x14: A magical evening, indeed. Klaus invites Caroline to a ball where the Mikaelsons were to host as a means of coming together as a family. This is the episode where we begin to see Klaus’ infatuation with Caroline. He sends her a dress, personally (though he disappears before she can see him at the door). I think him delivering her the dress is not talked about enough, for he could have sent one of his hybrid minions, but he chose to give it to her himself, that shows dedication and worth. She is valuable to him and there is enough value in her for Klaus’ limited time. Then, it comes to the time of the ball, and when he first sees her, that is a picture! He is a host to this ball, he should be circling around the room, greeting everyone, yet he stops to stare at Caroline Forbes, who has taken him completely aback by her beauty. He greets her a good evening, to which she replies with needing a drink. His eyes follow her as she walks away. This monster found something beautiful and he was not afraid to show his affection as evidently shown in the lovely waltz he was to have with her. I don’t particularly feel Klaus was at all hated by most fans of TVD, I think everyone loved him as the villain and to see him develop some feelings, really captured the attention of fangirls across the globe. The waltz scene was completely stolen by Klaroline, Klaus expressing how “ravishing” Caroline looked in the dress he gave her and was delighted to see her wearing the bracelet he gave her too. I don’t think Klaus has ever stared so ardently at anyone as he did with Caroline that night. He later noticed his date was missing from his arm. He followed her outside to where she stood next to a horse. It was then that he declared, “I fancy you, you’re beautiful, you’re strong, you’re full of light. I enjoy you.” This stunned Caroline as it stunned the audience. We began to see some light in Klaus. When Klaus showed Caroline his paintings, I think that was crucial. His art is personal to him, his passion for art shared with his passion for Caroline. He was trying to impress her. And it worked. Klaus beginning that eternal notion with this ship by offering to take Caroline to “Rome, Paris, Tokyo” in which both laughed at. It was at this point Caroline turned on him, Caroline clearly not over Tyler, and Klaus was clearly affected by her resentment. His face, when she left, seemed regretful, like he had something to say to her, but was left with no opportunity to do so. Later on the evening, Klaus had left her another gift. But it was much more valuable than a diamond bracelet or an elegant gown, it was a picture of her in that evening, next to a horse. Caroline had declared she liked horses to Klaus, and he obviously found this interesting. So he captured it in a drawing. There’s something very intimate about him giving her a drawing and it’s very dedicating considering he took the time to draw her. I’ve never seen Caroline’s passion for horses elsewhere in the show, but this is something only Klaus and Caroline share. I feel like only Klaus knows she loves horses and that is information for only Klaus to revel in and use to his advantage. It shows he listened to Caroline, he knows what she wants, and above all, he appreciated her honesty. Many would have expected Klaus to lash out on her rejection, but instead thanked her for being real with him. And from the look on Caroline’s face upon receiving this gift, it was a true moment where she saw a certain light in Klaus. She seemed shocked by his kindness, and I think that resonated deep within her by the look she gave. My OTP sails itself.
Tumblr media
3x15: This scene happens to be one of my most favourite scenes and I have no idea why because Caroline’s role here was to distract Klaus while the others tried to kill his family. But it’s so easy to forget that, because this moment between them was quite flirtatious, you’re just itching for something to happen beyond penetrating stares and making each other smile. Caroline walks in, strutting towards him, head held high like she owned beauty. Kol recognised her at first, pointed her out to Klaus and declared her to be a “tasty little thing.” Klaus, protective over Caroline, vowed to rip his liver out if he continued to talk. He stopped Caroline in her tracks and offered her to join him and his brother for a drink. At which point, Caroline claimed she’d rather die of thirst but gave thanks to his request. She walked away from him, and this rejection made him smile and Klaus asked Kol, “isn’t she stunning?” I think this really attracted a lot of people to this ship because of how her not wanting him just made him want her more. The love-hate relationship began to blossom, and that one’s a classic, Darcy-Elizabeth type ship, good shit, never tired of that kind of ship. Klaus, accepting her challenge, stalked after her with a hungry look on his face. He almost got hit by a car chasing after her, in which Caroline told him to take the hint and back off. Yet, her aim was to keep him close, thus she knew the extent of his infatuation with her because he was not likely to give up so easily. There’s something quite sweet about him asking Caroline to get to know him. Because previously, Caroline told Klaus, “You don’t connect with people because you don’t even try to understand them.” And now Klaus is asking Caroline to get to know him. Here, he is heeding her words by trying to connect with her. Yet, when Caroline asked what he wanted to talk about, he immediately said he wanted to talk about her. Her hopes, dreams and everything she wanted in life. He wanted to know so he could give it to her. And Caroline said she was too smart to be seduced by him and Klaus admitted that’s why he liked her (later Caroline tells Rebekah that Klaus sees a challenge in her). The challenge in her is what draws him in. Later on, Klaus realised Caroline was only talking to him to steer him away from the commotion at the grill regarding his brother, Kol. He seemed angry by her betrayal, and yet still did not hurt her.
Tumblr media
In the end, he burned the portraits he drew of her and watched them be consumed by the flames. Burning away his feelings for her (similar to Caroline shredding the pic of the drawing Klaus gave her in season 5).
Tumblr media
Judging by the look on her face, this drawing gave her a feeling that hooked itself right among the tendrils of her heart.
Tumblr media
3x20: Klaus seems to be painting over yet another portrait of Caroline. The painting is dominated with the shade of a lemon, and there is only one woman Klaus would be painting with such lemon-coloured hair. There is a slight glimpse of the painting where it shows Caroline’s fringe or bangs meet with her temple. Klaus tarnishing this painting with a slab of black all over it simply makes him hide his feelings away in the darkness. It could also emphasise him pushing out the light that Caroline planted within him and so he tries to cover it with darkness. Yet, still, he couldn’t cover it all in black because light truly comes out in darkness. In addition to this, it could be Klaus trying to bring out the darkness is Caroline, by covering black paint all over her, Klaus wants to free the darkness routed in Caroline, thus making it easier for her to accept him and all of his dark flaws. But given the complexity of which Klaus’ character is based, it is more likely that he is using the black paint to cover that glimpse of light Caroline brought out of him. Hence he tries to convince himself that Caroline “means nothing to” him when Esther/Rebekah tries using Caroline’s presence at the dance as a way of getting him to go. Thus, when he actually does turn up, it proves no matter how much he tried to hide away his feelings, light will conquer darkness regardless.
Tumblr media
3x20: This was an important chapter in the Klaroline story. Klaus was all ready to leave Mystic Falls, but Esther, his mother disguised as Rebekah (like this was a Shakespeare play or some shit) convinced Klaus to stay a little longer. But how? By asking him to come to the decade dance, but why would Klaus be interested in a high school dance? Because “Caroline will be there.” Esther knew how to persuade Klaus, persuade him with his desires. And thus it worked. He turned up at the decade dance to see Caroline dancing with her boyfriend, Tyler. That did not stop him from getting a dance with her. During their dance, Klaus declared how much Caroline would have enjoyed the 1920s. He told her he’d be leaving town and that caught Caroline’s attention. He even said he would have invited her to come with him but at that point, she was too busy plotting against him to be ready to join him. Klaus told her to mark his words that “a small town boy, a small town life, it won’t be enough for you.” (She did mark his words, later at Tyler’s death, but she phrased it differently). Klaus believed Caroline needs something beyond the town of Mystic Falls. She should be seeing the world with him because he was hoping that one day, she’d show up at his door and “let me show you what the world has to offer.” Because from the very beginning, he saw Caroline as a beautiful vampire whose heart was too grand for the small borders of boring, Mystic Falls. Klaus left the dance quite aggravated, clearly hurt by caroline’s decision to choose Tyler over him, convincing Rebekah (on the phone) that he only came to the dance because she begged her to, truly hiding the fact it was Caroline that brought him to the school.
Tumblr media
3x20: I believe Stefan said Caroline’s name and it brought Klaus to reason.
Tumblr media
3x21: It was as if Damon had a death wish when he brought up Caroline’s name and mentioned her constant rejection of Klaus. It almost seemed as if Klaus was preparing himself to shatter Damon’s existence right there. And Stefan saying “this isn’t really helping” just makes one realise how much of a second choice Caroline was to everyone but Klaus. It is not helping to save Elena. They noticed when Elena was missing, but where was Caroline? They only found out about Caroline when Alaric phoned them. Hence, Stefan and Caroline was always the shittest ship from the off, only their friendship was epic.
Tumblr media
3x21: Here is where we realise that Klaus’ feelings for Caroline was completely steadfast. He was on a mission to protect Elena for her blood, but not before making certain that Caroline was safe first. As for Stefan Salvatore, so-called ‘love of Caroline’s life’ was not concerned for her safety but Elena’s first. In contrast, Klaus went straight for Caroline before Elena. Proving that Caroline means more to him than his hybrids. This is actually proven constantly throughout season 4. And also proving that Elena meant more to Stefan than Caroline did. Caroline relaxing at Klaus’ touch and voice creates a shift in Caroline’s perspective of Klaus. Perhaps she may reject him, but this is where the audience see that this rejection of Klaus is just a veil for her feelings for him. I do not believe Caroline had feelings for him here, but her relaxing in his arms made one giant baby-step forward in their relationship as she now accepted his help and appreciated him for it by thanking him. “It’s okay. It’s me. You’re safe.” Caroline was so quick to believe this and she would have been right to, Klaus only had intention to protect her which is rare in his case.
