My Ranking of TVD Seasons
*spoilers ahead*
NUMBER 8 - SEASON 8
Tumblr media
I mean…do I need to even explain this? We all saw season 8. It was a mess. I felt like I had to drag myself through this season, just because I wanted to see how it ended. The only highlight for me was the ending.
NUMBER 7 - SEASON 5
Tumblr media
The characters going to college was always going to be a strange transition - as it is in any tv show that starts with the characters in high school - and I just didn’t like the change. I can’t even put my finger on a specific reason why. It just felt different. This season also had the Travelers and Markos, who were just boring villains. The whole Silas/Qetsiyah plot was interesting at first, but fizzled out for me. The only highlight I could maybe pick out is Katherine’s arc. The show just didn’t fill the hole that the Mikaelsons left behind imo.
NUMBER 6 - SEASON 7
Tumblr media
I didn’t completely hate this season. Ngl it was weird without Elena. That being said, I actually liked the time jumps in episodes. I wasn’t a fan of the Caroline pregnancy storyline, but that only happened because Candice King got pregnant irl. It just seemed to me like Caroline felt so bad for Alaric & everything he went through in S6, that she continued the pregnancy out of pity for him. The whole Alaric & Caroline “romance” (if you can call it that) was disgusting too. What were the writers thinking. I enjoyed the Damon and Bonnie moments though and Bonnie finally found a good love interest in Enzo. The Heretics weren’t all terrible either. I liked Nora. The Originals crossover ep was a highlight too.
NUMBER 5 - SEASON 6
Tumblr media
Season 6 was a mixed bag for me. I really loved the whole prison world storyline. I thought it was unique and an interesting way to keep Bonnie and Damon alive after the S5 finale. It completely changed their relationship for the better too. Kai Parker was a great villain, one of the best in the whole series. I remember when he first told Bonnie and Damon about what he did to his family, that was the first time I was genuinely disturbed by a TVD character. Liz’s death was so emotional. Elena’s storyline this season was dull and I didn’t enjoy the whole Lily Salvatore thing. The season finale at Alaric and Jo’s wedding was crazy though.
NUMBER 4 - SEASON 4
Tumblr media
Hope Mikaelson tutorial above 👀. Maybe it’s an unpopular opinion, but I actually liked Elena’s transition and then her no humanity arc. I seriously didn’t like the sirebond thing though. That felt icky to me. Her relationship with Rebekah from enemies to kinda friends was nice. Going to Silas island for the cure was interesting. Did I love the cure storyline? Not really, but it wasn’t the worst.
NUMBER 3 - SEASON 1
Tumblr media
So many great moments. I just love this season. I will say, the pilot is a little rough, but most pilots are, so I don’t hold it against the season as a whole. While I’m not a Stelena shipper, I do think Stefan and Elena were very sweet in S1. Elena was also at her best in this season and season 2. When I say I like Elena, it’s this one I’m referring to. Damon was in his villain moment. The arrival of Katherine at the end was just perfect after all the talk about her throughout the season. I will say, I didn’t love S1 the first time I watched it, but when I went back and rewatched it, it became one of my favs.
NUMBER 2 - SEASON 2
Tumblr media
This season? Oh this season keeps you on your toes. Elijah’s first appearance was so damn good. The moment at the school dance where Bonnie looks at Elena as she fakes her death with the sparks falling around her was a beautiful shot. I was so stressed the first time I saw it because I really thought Bonnie died. The build up to Klaus’ arrival and then him taking over Alaric’s body, so we kind of got a sneak peek of the character before Joseph Morgan fully entered the show was fantastic. I wish he didn’t kill Jenna, but he wouldn’t be the villain if he didn’t do horrible things.
NUMBER 1 - SEASON 3
Tumblr media
The best of the best. The absolute pinnacle of the series. Season 3 was non stop action. It never got boring. And of course one of the main reasons why this season is number one for me is the introduction of the full Mikaelson family. The Originals brought so much to TVD. This was THEIR season tbh. They were the best villains ever in the series, and watching the Mystic Falls characters try to take them out never got old. From Stefan’s ripper arc, to the Mikaelson ball episode, to Alaric being turned by Esther, and then finally, Elena’s death and transition in the final episode; it was just simply a perfect season.

2024 Watch List pt2
Mr Unlucky has no choice but to kiss - Very, very cute and silly without being slapstick. This gets a bit lost in its own soup and after about episode 4 it drags some. Also just a bizarre and somewhat anticlimactic ending. The leads are lovely though and they do work well together. 3/5 (22/2/24)
What did you eat yesterday S1 - Just perfect. Watching Shiro & Kenji grow together over the episodes is a treat. This is as warm and tender as it is brilliantly observed and funny. A true must watch. 5/5 (24/2/24)
The Sign - This just got lost in itself. It had moments of absolute perfection but there were, for me, too many threads it didn’t tie up. Personally I liked this show the most in its procedural show parts and less in its fantasy elements, where I feel it had the most work to do. This isn’t one I’ll rewatch but I did enjoy the journey. 3/5 (25/2/24)
If it’s with you - Lovely is the best word for this. Just a little warm hug of a thing. A sweet story of first love. 4/5 (26/2/24)
I became the main role of a BL drama - Very soft and silly. Not much happens but the leads are lovely and fun to watch. Would kind of love a spin off about the managers if I’m honest. Zero complaints. Just a cute, easy, quick watch. 3/5 (27/2/24)
Kabe Koji - Very enjoyable. Absolutely loved the manga come to life concept of this one. It was super fun to look at. Personally, I think this could have done with maybe 1 or 2 more episodes. Neither character felt as explored as I would have liked. A nice watch nonetheless :) 3/5 (27/2/24)
The Man who defies the world of BL s1 & 2 - This is so unbelievably funny and well observed. Atsuhiro is a master at comedic faces and they never feel slapstick or overdone. Loved every silly second. 4/5 (28/2/24)
Candy Colour Paradox - This isn’t the best acted thing and the chemistry is only so-so it also really starts to drag in places. (Inserting Izuka Kenta into a multiple episode arc was a choice because he’s incredible and it only serves to highlight the so-so of the leads.) Having said all these things it still has a charm and I still enjoyed watching it. Just perhaps not one I’ll be itching to rewatch or suggest to friends. 3/5 (28/2/24)
Perfect Propose - A sweet six episode watch that’s really all about being human. Kai has to realise that being part of peoples lives is both terrifying but necessary and Hiro must learn to value the role he plays in the world. Just a gorgeous little watch. 4/5 (1/3/24)
Kei x Yaku - Is this a BL? Not really? It’s more like gay romance is heavily inferred but here is a messed up, lovely little found family so enjoy that. This is so much fun and I can’t rec it highly enough. Very much just tune in and have fun. 4/5 (1/3/24)
Cherry Magic - Zero notes. Absolute perfection. TayNew supremacy. 5/5 (2/3/24)
My Personal Weatherman - Just bored me honestly. It’s not bad but it’s not as good as some make it out to be. I think if I’d watched this before the novelist I might have liked it more? Not something I’ll reach for again. 3/5 (3/3/24)
My Beautiful Man s1&2 - This is very Japanese and, on paper, should not have worked for me at all. In practice tho? I loved this. I understand the reasons this is controversial but I also think if you go into this without any of the disk horse you’ll just see it for what it is; a love story between two broken boys with piss poor communication skills and self esteem issues. 4/5 (5/3/24)
My Beautiful Man Eternal - This movie is the third part of the beautiful man series. I genuinely think you could skip s2 and go straight in for this. It delivers what I would have wanted, but was impossible to give in four episodes, from s2. We see Hira and Kiyoi’s growth as individuals and also together and we finish with them as equals, with Kiyoi speaking to his king Hira. Beautifully shot, excellently acted. Will watch again. 5/5 (6/3/24)

Currently watching - January
Because I love a good little list - with an alphabetical order this time! 😊
Regularly updated during the month, latest update 31.01.2023
This may contain spoilers!
1. Ameiro Paradox (6/8 on Viki and Gaga)
An enemies to lovers story with journalists and cute smiles. I am a little bit confused by Kaburagi, just like Onoe is. It is not bad, the acting is quite nice.
2. Bokura no Micro na Shuumatsu aka The End Of the World With You (1/8 on Gaga or Viki)
This feels depressing and heartbreaking and I love it! Done right this can become a little sad gem.
3. Cutie Pie 2 You (1/4 on Youtube)
Well, I haven't been waiting for this and the first season left without a deeper impact on me. So right now I am very much unimpressed with this one.
4. HIStory 5: Love in the future (5/20 on Viki)
It is starting to grow on me. Both storylines. Seeing Hai Yi being nice, caring and less arrogant is kind of sweet. And all the flirting between Liang and Wynn is very much entertaining. Besides that, the main story is kind of confusing and I can't stop myself from asking, why doesn't He Bo Wei search himself in the internet?
5. Individual Circumstances (4/8 on Viki)
After years spending their lives apart from each other an almost worn out movie director and a famous writer meet again. The past has to be processed and the writer deals with their history and present in one of his stories. I like this one a lot. Can it be please next week, so I know what they were talking about in the preview?
6. My School President (8/12 on Youtube)
I loooove this one so much!!!! It is my favorite watch of the week! Set in highschool we meet Tinn (the school president) and Gun (head of the music club). Tinn has a huge crush on Gun and Gun sees in Tinn the enemy who is standing between the success of his music club and the win of the Hot Wave Music Contest. Sometimes you just need a good old high school bl to be happy. I enjoyed this series so much. And the music is so good!!!
7. Never Let Me Go (7/12 on Youtube)
The tension and chemistry between the two mains is definitely there and noticeable. I am hooked with the story and at this point really anxious about what's to come. There are so many layers to unfold and I love reading all those metas here on tumblr! So well written analyses.
8. Physical: 100 (2/10 on Netflix)
Okay, listen...my best friend told me, I should watch this and after 15 minutes we were on the phone with each other and for the next 1,5 hours we had the time of our lifes! This show is insane and so much fun to watch!
9. The New Employee (6/8 on Viki)
I love the manhwa and I really enjoy this adaptation. It is funny and cute and not so far from the original material. The two mains have a wonderful chemistry.
Finished in January
Series
1. 2 Moons the Ambassador (12/12 on Youtube)
It was just bad. The acting was not good. The plot was...lame and there was too much going on with the amount of couples to deal witj. And there was just too much dull drama without reason and so many plotholes and logical errors... 2 out of 10 for the sweetness sometimes
2. Till the world ends (10/10 on Youtube)
This one was such a pleasant surprise for me. A story about the end of the world with explicit and brutal scenes, decent acting and a kind of good story! The chemistry was there and with episode eight they said, well lets show world what we can do. I won't talk about physics nor the ending. Well the latter would explain the first issues, but I don't care. I liked it! 8,5 out of 10 dystopian ideas
3. Remember Me (14/14 on Gaga)
Okay, this one is so complicated for me. First I found it boring. With episode three I was hooked and totally into it. Around episode 10/11 I just got bored again and the story became...difficult to like anymore and the last one was just meh...I really liked the storytelling, but some parts could have been cut short and others needed more story time. I felt like they have forgotten that there were like four other stories beside Champ's in the last episode so everything felt rushed. And yes, the big problem with Name's decision to speak. Like as it is just so easy to overcome your fear and barrier and mental health problem and just speak. One day, after you notice it would be better for others if you speak, you just do it...well, that is not how it works. And yes, thinking about it, this is a really big problem of the show in general. Just presenting mental health problems as something you can overcome with enough selfcontrol and some words of encouragement...or the sight of others who feel unwell in your depressed presence...damn...It could have been such a nice 7, but thinking about those flaws really hurts...there is no real working with the problems. Champ just decides to forgive his family and his depression is healed...Name speaks because he just decided to do so...Gun and Golf broke up and just a few days later Golf says sorry and pulls out a ring and everything is fine again...Well no...that is not how life works. 4 out of 10 stories to tell
4. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko Season 1 (4/4 on Gaga)
A man who tries to avoid the world of BL, by reading Yaoi mangas to get to know all the tropes he has to avoid in order to not get involved with the world as a main character. It is hilarious. I had a really good time watching it. 8 out of 10 tropes to avoid
5. Love Bill (10/10 on Youtube)
A vietnamese drama about a young man falling in love with a screenwriter. Well, of course there are some other things happening in between, but this is the heart of the story. Our boy Nguyễn Bá Vinh is doing a great job! I really enjoyed this drama. And the ending is so perfectly fitting for this drama. Thien is a screenwriter and known as the king od sad endings. So yeah, the ending is sad, but at the same time perfect and bittersweet. 7 out of 10 rainwater barrel showers
6. The director who buys me dinner (10/10 on iQiyi)
Okay, I read the Webseries, so I do know what Dennis was up to and what his story was. I liked the story between Yudam and Dongbaek. The ending? I wish they would have stick more to the original, but I am not mad about it. They had a fresh start and it is not that open of an ending for me. Yudam agreed to have dinner with Dongbaek and I believe that those two will be happy in the end. 7,5 out of 10 pills to swallow
7. Island (6/6 non bl)
I have never thought I would say I like a horror series, but here I am. I hate horror besides Vampires, Aliens and Witches, so this was a surprise, especially when I think about my despise and horror for The Exorcist. But this one is really good! And now I can't wait for season 2!! There is so much to unpack and I am hooked! 9,5 out of 10 lust demons
8. War of Y (20/20 on Gaga)
I finally watched it. I don't know. It was good imo, without a doubt. But it is a little bit paradox. The series tries to go against the industry and the fanservice and the working conditions, but in the end it is just another bl. Most of the stories have their happy ending and are kind of unrealistic. I enjoyed my time watching it, even though it was tough at some times. 7 out of 10 two-faced media
9. Gaya Sa Pelikula aka Like in the Movies (8/8 on Youtube)
What a perfect little series! I loved every second of this and I wish it had more episodes. But they managed to tell the story in the time they had without cutting something short or anything. It is a deep story with a light storytelling that fits the tone perfectly. The story is about Karl and Vlad who become fake boyfriends to help each other and who happen to fall in love with each other for real. But nothing is that easy in this world and the process of coming out and coming to terms with who you are needs time. Absolutely love this one! 10 out of 10 dishes to wash
10. Ingredients (21/21 on Gaga)
This was the perfect thing to watch while laying down with a cold. It warms your heart and makes you smile. It is such a cute and wholesome story and I believe they will manage to overcome all obstacles in their relationship. I am very grateful for this recommendation! 9,5 out of 10 desserts
11. My Engineer (14/14 on Youtube)
Well this one was a ride. I liked the beginning, but my patience died at some point. So Bohn and Duen became a couple, but they didn't touch each other, no hand holding, no kind of showing affection and the only one who does shows them through words is Bohn, but he becomes so jealous I wanted to slap his face. He is sulking the whole second part of this series! That was so annoying. The only bright spot were RamKing. I get it, they are cute and the only ones with at least two brain cells! 5,5 out of 10 sulking faces...
12. The Tuxedo (8/8 on Gaga)
This was not good. I think it is cringy and there was no chemistry between the mains or a plot I could really follow. I mean there are short films out there, which can transport a better story with a better feeling for time and substance than this series. The amount of times I cried noooo...Not good... 3,5 out 10 what the hell was this blue tuxedo?!?!
13. History 4: Close to you (10/10 on Viki)
Yeah, close to you...what a perfect titel. Best friends to lovers, stepbrothers to lovers. And I liked it. I don't know what else to say. I know there are some scenes that are just bad. There is no excuse for that, but you know what? I watched KinnPorsche, I watched Dangerous Drugs Of Sex...And besides those scenes I really enjoyed the stories. Yes, also the stepbrothers. 8 out of 10 Cardigans
14. Between Us (12/12 on Youtube)
Well, in the end it was boring and I couldn't care less about WinTeams relationship or their traumas, which is really sad, because it plays such a big role in the series. I liked them in UWMA, but here, in their own series, they were blank and boring. 4,5 out of 10 swimming pools
15. The Devil Judge (16/16 on Viki)
Why so good? I couldn't stop watching in the end. You know the feeling when you are so tense, you just want to spoiler yourself the ending, but you don't want to, but you want to and in the end you are sitting there in tears, because the drama is so sad and you're so tense. And still, since the beginnen of the show, you question yourself if you want to hate Jung Sun Ah, feel pity for her, fuck her or let her fuck you. In the end I let her fuck me out of pity while I hate her with all my guts. But the drama is just so fucking good. So thrilling and with some really good (and some not so good) plot twists. And in the end, every meme is true, gay sex would be less gay than what ever was going on between Kang Yo Han and Kim Ga On and I respect them for that. 10 out of 10 intense eye contacts
16. Zettai BL ni Naru Sekai VS Zettai BL ni Naritakunai Otoko 2 (3/3 on Gaga)
A man who tries to avoid the world of BL, by reading Yaoi mangas to get to know all the tropes he has to avoid in order to not get involved with the world as a main character - Part II (yes, I copy paste this one...). It is hilarious. I had a really good time watching it. 7,5 out of 10 tropes to still avoid
New Category: Dropped/On Hold
1. I will knock you (1/12 on Gaga)
Well, I don't like it. It brings me no joy so far. So for now it is on hold until I have nothing more to watch...
2. To Sir, with love (2/17 on Youtube)
I know that it is good, but I don't know. I just can't find the energy to watch it. Perhaps some day in the future.
3. Something in my room (3/10 on Youtube)
I saw people talking about this one and how good it is. Well, it is quite okay. I guess it will get a little bit deeper with more episodes, but I haven’t had the time to watch more or the motivation to watch it...so for now it is on hold
4. Hit Bite Love (on Youtube)
I couldn't get over the first half of the first epsiode. It just made me uncomfortable. So this was a dropped for me...
Short films
1. Invitation (on Gaga)
A short film about a jobless person who finds binoculars and breaks in a stranger's home. There is a good twist in the end. The acting was okay, the story was okay...the ending was good. 6,5 out of 10 binoculars
2. Fragile Souls (on Gaga)
I like this one a lot. It has depth and a really deep story for a movie under 10 minutes. The acting is good, too. It is a story about opening your heart to someone and not keeping you inner demons all to yourself. You are allowed to be vulnerable and it gets better. 8,5 out of 10 grainy metaphores
3. Jay (on Gaga)
Jay is a 13 years old boy who is fascinated by his older brother's physique what somewho change into attraction. He is discovering his own sexual orientation while his brother doesn't keep his own a secret from the younger brother (he has sex with his girlfriend while the door to his room was open). It is a complicated film which ewokes complicated emotions. Jay is in an early stage of puberty and his hormones and emotions are going crazy. He can't bring himself to like the girl who has a crush on him. Instead he fantasises about his brother, or his brother's body, a male body to whom he has easy access. The acting is not bad, the subject difficult, but all in all not a bad short film. 7 out of 10 pants
4. Going South (on Gaga)
What a ride. This movie was tense and uncomfortable to watch. I guess you can start a discourse about the question wether the sexual encounter is consensual, dub con or just simply r*pe...With all I have seen it is r*pe for me. There was so much aggression between those two and I understand both sides, which doesn't mean that ones actions were justified. 5,5 out of 10 chasing scenes
5. Suddenly Last Summer (on Gaga)
It is the story about a student, who stalks his teacher after he discovered the latter is gay. The student goes so far that he blackmails the teacher to do everything he wants for a day in return he would keep his secret safe. Well it was a slow and quiet movie. The acting was good. The story itself was okay. I liked it. Did I liek the student? Nope...But his behavior fits his character and his role in the movie. 8 out of 10 headphones
6. Kiss Of The Rabbit God (on Gaga)
This is such a beautiful and good short film! I loved every second of it and I was hooked to the very last scene. The following is all you need to know. Oh I love some good stories! A long time ago in the Qing Dynasty a young soldier fell in love with a handsome official and was sentenced to death for confessing his longing. When his spirit travelled to the Underworld the soldier’s crime was forgiven as one of passion and he was ordained The Rabbit God, the god of secret lovers. The god now travels through eternity answering prayers of forbidden love. 10 out of 10 crimson-hair
7. Langit Budak Biru (on Gaga)
It is not easy to watch, it is not easy to think about, but it is important to think about, to talk about. A movie about two boarding school students in a very religious and very homophobic country trying to understand why they are here and how to survive. My highest resprect for this movie. 10 out of 10 !
Movies
1. Gameboys: The Movie (on Gaga)
Well I haven't seen the first season, but you can indeed watch this without knowledge of the things that happen before (imo). I thought it was a decent movie. The acting was good, the stroy was there and I liked it. But I can't with "Baby" as a term of endearment. At some point all I could hear and concentrate on was this term and I am honest, I hated it. 7 out of 10 ... baby ...

I have deeply urgent things to do so clearly it's time for the final lost rankings of season one
1. kate - she's so crazy... you always want to run away katie!!
2. sayid... 🫶 when he was the first one to speak at boone's funeral graugh
3. jack. he's been serving like crazy lately it's insane. do no harm was just unreal. and I won't spoil for beth but that thing he did in exodus. his beautiful stupid hero complex <3 literally if he had absolute power he would keep it really niceys!!
4. sun. I don't have much to say she makes me feel a lot of things I really like her
5. shannon. every time she does something I find compelling she does something irritating like right after but of course I'm a feminist and I'm working on it. she's had some really good scenes though like her and walt... ugh 😿
6. jin. literally went from wanting him dead to here look how far we've come... he's been slaying sorry. but frankly I DON'TTTT care that he was in the mafia or whatever like to be honest dude I could not give less of a fuck. him just being a guy who can't communicate with the rest of them is inherently compelling and he can have this conflict with sun without it being like. oh well he's just so stressed because he's a contract killer. or whatever he does it's all the same stupid shit. I don't care! on a nicer note I'm obsessed with his little marital odd couple dynamic with micheal where micheal is one of the only ppl who can sort of understand him... they were in love here. or something.
7. boone. he will not be on this list after this and of course he's dead so I'm letting him be this high. his death was devastating lowkey and him dying desperately trying to save them all... whatever 😐 I'm letting you off the hook 😐 WHATEVER!
8. walt. henry mills swag! freaky little kid swag!
9. oh my god I forgot charlie. well if I'm being real he's been flopping lately. am I really gonna make him lower than jin... yeah I am. sorry. he'll win me back soon it won't be hard.
10. hurley. he's fine. him being the comedic side character is kind of getting grating though like I get it we need the silly but. come on...
11. locke. BOOOOOO! he's getting soooooo cocky like sit down bro you literally killed that kid because you're insane... and then calling it * ********* ********* GET OUT!!! he's obviously going to be the main part of a crazyyyy arc next season but he is irritating the hell out of me currently. and an enemy of jack is an enemy of mine...
12. micheal. also fine he has had a few good moments with jin but mostly he's kind of boring and whatever
13. sawyer. I like him much more than I used to! but he still pisses me off. ESPECIALLY after born to run before that I was like ok he can be kinda silly but oh my god keep kate's name out of your mouth she should've poisoned your ass...
whoaaaa I literally forgot about claire. sorry girl you are kind of nothing to me... I'd put her above hurley probably
and while I'm here. best episodes of season one - pilot/the moth/do no harm/exodus part one. <3 ok bye xoxo tee

COMPILING ALL LEGENDS OF CHIMA SEASON 1 THOUGHTS BELOW THE READ MORE (super long post, written as I was watching)
(I can be a little mean but I promise I’m having fun lol)
Episodes 1 + 2:
Man this shits super boring.
Idk if I can get behind craggers plot line tbh. He’s too much of a dumbass for me to really root for him.
The lore seems really cool so far. I like the settings and the stuff about the legend beasts.
Like?? Forest full of trees that just fall down all the time? Epic.
Legend beasts are especially cool cuz it means this is how Chima characters react when seeing a regular ass lion for the first time:
Tumblr media
Episode 3:
Man Laval really fucked everything up.
I have a feeling all of cragger’s dumbass-ness, like, transferred over to laval and now we’re gonna be seeing him making all the dumbass decisions
The only thing I really care about here is the b-plot about Gorzan and his flower. More engaging than the main plot
Episode 4:
Prediction about Laval replacing Cragger as the resident dumbass seems to be coming true
Gorzan is quickly becoming my favorite.
Oh hey look it’s the beavers!! I remember they show up in that one episode of ninjago. I had zero context for what they were all about then but now I know!!
Episode 5:
The gorilla tribe seems like the most chill out of everyone. Gorillas 👍
Can I just say I hate the fucking skunk. He sucks.
Honestly kind of a nothing episode
Episode 6:
Eagle spire does that cool thing where all the buildings are built on super scary precipices. There’s literally a post going around about this exact thing but I can’t find it rn
Oh so the eagles are just a bunch of nerds. A little weird I guess(?) I feel like eagles are usually symbols of strength n stuff so that’s different. It’s giving cloud kingdom.
“Wing girl” tf kinda nickname??
Apparently the ravens are double crossing everyone but I have not been paying close enough attention to what’s going on to really process that
Ok so it was all an extremely convoluted way for the crocs to get everyone to fight each other. And the ravens tried to profit but they’re kinda stupid so nothing really worked out for anyone
Episode 7:
Purble moon??? Epic
Man the bears are so epic just like me fr
Nooo don’t mess w the gorillas they’re so chill :(
I am entirely uninterested in the 100 year full moon skunk fart lore. Sorry.
It’s a little strange and maybe I’m hallucinating but I feel like the animation has has somehow gotten better?? Like the lighting or smthn…. Or the facial expressions???
Oh….. skunk fart lore is plot relevant………
Now that I’m thinking… is that the only skunk in chima?? Cuz rn it looks like just the one guy
Episode 8:
Oh it’s a big boy chi
There’s a fucking peacock?? Don’t know how to spell his name. So wait if he wins who does the chi go to?? He gets it all to himself?
Oh wait nvm it’s probably a cragger thing. Mr. Peacock comes back after retirement or w/ever in order to do some evil shit with the crocs I get it I get it
Gorzan I love you
WHO THE FUCK IS THAT GUY?? Is it a pig? A warthog??? It’s giving Mr. E vibes.
Man idk this episode is structured rlly weirdly. Nothing really fit together very well. It’s alright tho.
Episode 9:
GORILLA EPISODE?? Let’s go dude
It funny cuz I feel like gorillas aren’t actually this mellow irl
STOP FUCKING WITH THE GORILLAS CRAGGER I’LL KILL YOU
Oh hey it’s our mystery mans. Oh nevermind he left again.
There are balloon plants?? Oh yeah those are the things they were using in the other episode. Sorry I wasn’t paying attention to anything else that happened.
Episode 10:
Uhh I forgot to take notes while watching uhhh
The fox guy was cute. I like a little fox guy
This episode managed to make me feel a little bad for cragger!! He wants to do a good job but he kinda sucks at everything :(
It also made me confused abt cruller!!! What are you doing w ur life girl!!!!
Kinda messed up how the wolves had to serve the crocodiles tho… probly for the best she threw away that pledge
If Laval’s dad is right when he says they’re not gonna race for chi for a long time, I’m guessing they’re not gonna do any more racing episodes for some time. That’s fine honestly.
WAIT THAT RHINO GUY’S DYING. Oh nvm. This whole situation is cringe I hope it’s a one-off thing….
Also I forgot everyone thinks craggers parents are dead but really they’re just chilling in that canyon. Kinda funny actually
Episode 11:
Oh man the wolves are fucking everything up
“We all gotta stay here till the walls are fixed” bruh just call the beavers or smthn
Man what is the deal with this shadow wind dude.
If there’s one similarity I could point out with ninjago, it’s all this talk abt ~the balance~. I guess it makes sense since they take place in the same universe, technically
These bears are so cute lol napping does solve everything so true
Episode 12:
Jets travel super fast in the air. If they’re going through a storm Laval should totally be dead by now
Cragger is setting boundaries!! We love to see it. Cruller is acting pretty cringe. In her ~~girlfailure era~~
Is Laval gonna fall in this gorge?? Oh yeah he’s gonna fall in this gorge
Noooo Gorzans underwear is gonna tear
It’s a little sweet how Laval still wants to help out cragger
Episode 13:
I guess I’m still not super into cragger but I pity him a little. He’s trying his best but he’s just a bit stupid. And also his sister sucks ass
Okay. So she may be cringe but cruller is living her best(-ish) life.
That wolf is wearing a really cute apron
Man they were bringing up Shadow wind earlier and I thought they were gonna reveal their identity but now I’m a bit disappointed…
Laval is being peak dumbass rn I kinda like it. “The warm milk of oppression” lol
Pretty cute finale tbh
That’s where Tubi says season 1 ends, so i think I’ll just stop here for now. I guess they’ll bring up craggers parents next season?? For now they’re still stuck chilling in that canyon.
I definitely feel like it’s a show that doesn’t have super strong characters. I think it would better if the show leaned more into the world it’s created instead, if that makes sense. Maybe later the character writing will improve a little bit, and I’ll changed my tune. But!! Who knows. I’m having fun with it.
Idk when I’ll get to season 2, cuz I get super busy sometimes (I started this one a couple months ago but couldn’t finish it till now ugh) but I do want to continue watching!! Eventually!!!

so. turns out this was easier than i thought
ignore the two generic smurfs after smurfette they're just there bc the formatting sucks :/
also i couldn't find a finance smurf but he belongs in the "burn in smurf hell'' category <3
also i have time to kill so. list below the cut!
1. Clumsy - sweetheart. doesn't have a mean bone in their body. very autistic.
2. Lazy - i don't know how to explain lazy being an unintentional allegory for people with invisible disabilities that are considered a burden and. lazy under capitalism. but he has a big heart and cares about his friends even when they're less than considerate towards him (seriously, WHAT was the slumber party episode? were they like, intentionally trying to torture him?)
3. Jokey - "Oh, the folly of a clown, masking his loneliness with a joke!" <- person who definitely doesn't have any internal issues :). Also can we just appreciate the fact that he has ONE main prank and everybody still falls for it. (not to mention that the prank is. giving people bombs)
4. Timid - he BABY
5. Scaredy - he baby 2
6. Smurfette - specifically lost village smurfette cuz that was where she peaked. you go girl give us an identity crisis and journey of self-discovery only to find the answer was with you all along!
7. Greedy - comics/ 2021 specifically, because him and chef being distinct characters is funny as hell. he's so cute i would totally give him a muffin if he asked.
8. Harmony - he sucks so bad at what he's supposed to be best at! and i think that's so interesting and criminally underexplored! and every time he gets the other smurfs to like his music it ends badly :(.
9. Painter - dramatic ass bitch (affectionate). why was he the only french person in belgium.
10. Doctor - i assume that one's doctor at least. it is now. anyways he's funny as hell, like harmony he's also...bad at his passion. he doesn't have a reason to be a quack, he's just. Like That.
11. Reporter - I like his voice.
12. Poet - there is NO need to speak in couplets all the time, he's so extra.
13. Tailor - "*terrible Kip King impression* EVERYBODY STOP COMPLAINING OR I'LL SCREAM." He's really nice, he made Smurfette that dress in one episode even though he was busy, and he made Tracker a fur coat out of the scraps he gave him and Vanity a scarf with his face hand-embroidered on it just because? AND more importantly, he's very blunt. i like that :)
14. Hefty - no no you didn't see my love for strong muscular guys that are kind and caring and totally whipped for that one girl. ok he's not maws level but like. if you can put "she's so high" by tal bachman in a ship playlist then you've got a valid m/f ship
15. Grouchy - let him say hate again oh god please i will tear my ears out if i have to hear "me, I don't like x" again. fuckin WEAK. also the grammar i wanna curl up on the floor and cry.
16. Farmer - remember when all the smurfs only wore white pants so to distinguish farmer from the others he would just be randomly carrying a hoe for no reason. also his accent is SO silly in the new cartoon i love it.
17. Vanity - just...watch this.
18. Brainy - i'm sorry for putting him so low brainy fans can you ever forgive me /hj. with all fairness i do think he's an interesting character! he's just...interesting in a way that doesn't really appeal to me specifically.
19. Handy - i feel like he would build a doomsday device if he got bored one afternoon and honestly? i respect that.
20. Papa Smurf - sometimes he's a good father figure. sometimes he's a terrible "father figure". it depends on the medium. and the direction of the wind.
21. King (pretentious) Smurf - made a whole authoritarian regime in like. two days. what the hell man.
22. Finance - capitalist :/

MY TOP 15 BL SERIES OF 2021
I did one of these for 2022, so figured I should do one for 2021, 2020 and then one for the shows before that. I started watching Bls seriously at the start of 2021, and its been such a fun journey. These lists are probably more so for me than anything else but maybe someone will find them helpful when trying to decide which ones to check out... let me know what your favs are!
1. We Best Love [Taiwan] - To date, my favorite BL series thus far. IMO it really has everything. Great premise and storyline, great acting and dialogue, and amazing chemistry between the main two, plus decent enough intimate scenes and kisses. It really ticks all the boxes for me. Plus, I love a good rivals to lovers storyline and samyu are pretty darn sweet.
2. Utsukushii Kare [Japan] - This one is a bit messy and there are definitely some problematic elements, but gosh, it's so entertaining. From start to finish I was hooked into the storyline and the relationship betwene the main two. And I think it was a well-rounded story with a good ending, so it left me pretty satisfied. For a Japan series too, it had a nice kising scene in the finale.
3. Light on Me [Korea] - Adore this series, and finally we get a longer Korean BL. The main characters were adorable, and the show was light enough and funny but had some good drama as well. Not the best kissing scenes ever but the main two's chemistry made up for it imo. Very sweet series.
4. To My Star [Korea] - This one took a few watches to grow on me but in hindsight its one of the better BL's out there (lets not talk about season 2)... the storyline was fun and it was one of the first Korean BL's that I watched, so it was a good one to start on! Korea goes unmatched for me with their BL's.
5. Kieta Hatsukoi [Japan] - Not a lot to say about this one tbh, I would have to rewatch to really give some better insight but I remember really enjoying this one. Japan BL's can tend to be a bit dramatic and sometimes a bit dark, but this one was so light and fluffy. It was a nice change of pace.
6. Don't Say No [Thai] - Okay, storyline wise, this BL kind of dragged for me. I didn't find the premise overly interesting. HOWEVER, Jafirst and their chemistry really made up for it. It's obvious how comfortable they are and their kissing scenes were one of the best scenes from this year. (We won't bring up THAT scene with FIAT in episode 2 (or was it 1?) because I lost my brain there.) But yeah, we'll just say this series was very enjoyable haha.
7. HiStory 4 [Taiwan] - This was a solid season. Not the best the series has ever done but I love that each season is different. The brothers storyline was a hot frickin mess but the main pairing was cute. Overall, I just found it very enjoyable.
8. Peach of Time [Korean] - Is this Korean or Thai? Not really sure, but it was a cute season that felt like a bit of both worlds. Not the most amazing chemstry or storyline of all time but it was sweet and interesting to watch. It had a certain charm to it.
9. You Make Me Dance [Korean] - It's hard to find a korean bl I dislike. And while this one is not that memorable compared to some others, it was still a nice watch.
10. Tale of a Thousand Stars [Thai] - People go crazy for earth+mix... they aren't really my cup of tea. Nothing against them, they are sweet, I just dont go crazy for them. The setting wasn't really my thing either but I did like the energy between the characters and all their cute moments and scenes, so it kept me entertained. Wished they had a better last kiss though.
11. Lovely Writer [Thai] - Found parts of this boring and the storyline didn't really hold my interest all that much but I did enjoy the scenes between the couples. I wish the side "pairing" had gotten more focus cuz that kiss on the street was great! But it was nice.
12. I Promised You the Moon/I Told Sunset About You part 2 [Thai] - Part 2 was nothing compared to season 1 at all. Season 1 imo was masterpeice and season 2 was just like a typical bl series imo. I hate cheating storylines so this series made me pretty mad haha but it wasn't UNWATCHABLE and I still liked the chemistry between the main 2.
13. Nobleman Ryu's Wedding [Korean] - The time setting wasn't really for me, but it was a cute and fun series. Not much else to say!
14. Fish Upon the Sky [Thai] - TBH I don't remember a WHOLE lot from this series and am planning to rewatch for pondphuwin, but I do remember enjoying it.
15. The Tasty Florida [Korean] - Again, can't go wrong with SK for me. But, compared to the other Korean series, this one wasn't AS good. Still enjoyable.
Honorable mentions: (Won't go into detail on these, but overall I found all of them nice and pleasant to watch, but they didn't grab me in the same way as some other series.
BxJ Series - (still have yet to see it but I did enjoy season 1), Bad Buddy - (watched a reactor watch this so technically couldn't add it to my list, but will try to watch it eventually), Be Loved in House I Do, Tinted With You, My Sweet Dear, The Man Who Defies the World of BL, The Novelist, Behind Cut, Stuck on You

10 Random Recent TV opinions:
1.  The “What if Christoph Waltz was your boss and also Satan from the bestselling book the Bible” show was fun anytime Christoph Waltz was on screen, but kinda corny the rest of the time because it could never explain why these people didn’t just quit working for Satan.  People quit jobs, all the time!
2.  Plus, bless TV writers’ little hearts, but I know about lots of bosses who were way, way worse than TV’s Satan.  Oodles!  Satan seemed comparatively well-intentioned to other bosses I’m aware of-- Satan at least has a valid reason for being kind of a dick (souls is neat to own, or whatever).
3.  That second-to-last Servant, the last one directed by Shyamalan, Sr... Lauren Ambrose is great, but once you get past that, Shyamalan does this really gorgeous Hitchcock zoom in there  (the one in the car). (You know when you zoom in while also pulling the camera away, or zoom out while pushing in, they go either way). No one watches that show or I’m convinced there’d be articles about that zoom...  I dug that zoom so much...!!  Shyamalan mentions it in the behind the scenes footage (he calls it a zolly, which I’m not into) but only for like a second.
4.  I caught up on the Mandalorian because I was in the mood for outer space / I’m an old man who occasionally gets the bug to find out who’s winning the Star War.  It’s fine?  I like parts of it.  Plus:  I guess it’s an unpopular opinion but I didn’t really think Andor was anything at all--  I thought it was boring and middlebrow.  I liked the Mandalorian more because it was consistent with what a Star War involves as I understand it-- fart noises, animals shitting, booger jokes.  I mean this sincerely-- those things to me are hallmarks of the franchise, because Star Warring is for fucking kids. That is kid’s business.  Whereas Andor felt like it wanted to be for grown-ups who want to take a Star War seriously and explain the prison industrial complex to me or some shit-- that is ridiculous and nothing I can approve of.
5.  I think my favorite Mandalorian episode was the one that’s just about 80′s action legend Carl Weathers’s character being a bad-ass, directed by 80′s action legend Carl Weathers.  My second favorite was the 10 minutes where Boba Nott fought Cthulu Men on a boat.
6.  Katee Sackhoff is in the Mandalorian though and she is terrible... Especially because the tragedy of the show-- I really think the best thing in it was Gina Carano.  People get really excited to mock that woman, since she “fumbled the bag.”  But even though she’s not a good actress, she’s fun to watch fight in a Star War and I don’t know-- I just think it’s really, really sad, that she blew up her life like that, or that she let down all those fans.  I don’t 100% get what people think is so funny there-- it makes me feel sad and tired.
7. Poker Face-- I’d say the Escape from Shit Mountain episode (the one with Joseph Gordon Levitt) is probably the best one, the one that’s a Phil Tippett tribute with Nick Nolte is pretty solidly good, and then the rest are varying degrees of i-mean-i-guess-I-had-nothing-else-going-on to highly-highly-skippable.
8.  Setting aside the directing and production design, I take Will Trent over Poker Face because Will Trent doesn’t have superpowers and has to solve mysteries, which are difficult for him to solve and thus more satisfying to me to see him deduce, than seeing solutions magically land into Natasha Lyonne’s lap.  Her superpowered character could just shout “did you do murder” to everyone she met and each episode would be 10 seconds long.  Plus: I think it’s weird that Poker Face girl doesn’t have any friends.  Psych and Monk had friends; Columbo had a wife, I think.  It’s doing the Incredible Hulk TV show instead, but that show was (a) depressing because it was about a lonely man going town to town until being asked to leave after his emotions make him rip his clothes off-- that’s not a story we needed Rian Johnson to revisit, and (b) involved a Hulk who was Incredible, i.e. just not really the same vibe as a mystery show.
9.  Will Trent is just crazy because it’s a network TV crime show and those all went insane after young people stopped watching them.  Because they have to keep old people awake-- and network crime dramas do that by being joltingly violent.  The last episode of Will Trent I saw, Will Trent had to solve a mystery where a woman was killed in this horribly, horribly brutal way (like they explain it’s how hunters murder deer, except it happens to a human woman and there are unpleasant details I’m leaving out).  It’s a disturbing way to die which the audience hears about repeatedly... until the episode ends with Will Trent saying cute stuff to his (actually very adorable) dog, plus the b-story was a wacky mystery involving a dead magician (haha).  My point:  Poker Face would get letters if it was a tenth as nightmarish as the average show that a 53 year old aunt watches on network television at 10pm; Rian Johnson would have to apologize.
10.    I kind of want the final season of Barry to just be Barry stuck in jail for 20-30 years until being paroled back onto the streets, as a confused old man.  I don’t think that’s what it’ll be, but I just think that’d be clean and rad and powerful.

my pre-rewatch personal enjoyment episode ranking for s16 bc. lists. everything between 3-7 is muddy though i can be swayed to think otherwise.
1. shoots - probably the best pacing of the season, the only episode where i feel every character felt complete. good episode for both the characters’ pasts and where they stand now wrt to their families. dog frank. mac and charlie’s legacy :)
2. inflates - still had a fairly good pacing and good division of screen-time between characters. fun character dynamics especially between frank and all the others. charlie “won” at the end. there was only one bed.
3. celebrity booze - before you yell at me hear me out. this is where my ranking starts to get silly and more personal. i love breaking bad i was excited for this episode to come out before i even watched iasip. mac was serving. charlie threw up nickels over some guy. however frank dee and charlie were sidelined hard. this episode isnt that great im just heavily biased because of braaron. if it was any other celebrity this would rank in the bottom half for sure.
4. bowling - lost points because the men vs women stuff was handled poorly. dennis should not have won that strength competition against the waitress. i could go on about how this episode failed at the actual competition and ways they could have improved. i loved all the side characters though. i liked mac charlie and frank in this ep but they were kind of useless to the plot. also dennis’ misogynist rants were too on the nose. good sibling lore though.
5. dtamhd - some of you are going to kill me for ranking this lower than celebrity booze which is deserved just remember that im hugely biased because of braaron. also because this was the only episode i had any expectations for, which you should never do with this show. plotwise pretty solid though parts of it did get repetitive (we get it, its the systems not the people). i wont lie though ill never like "it was all a dream" endings. also in general i dont enjoy watching episodes where the majority of the gang dont feature in general (part of the reason why i found mfhp boring too). also the gore. i loved the gore. you did so good sweetie.
6. fvr - the hysteria surrounding that episode was so fun but honestly i think the actual frank versus russia part is soo underdeveloped that it throws the episode off balance. also i didnt love the character writing, especially for mac, he was a little too cartoonishly stupid for me here. oh and unfortunately i had expectations for this one too (mac having a bf) so while the catfishing stuff was CRAZY it didnt fulfill my need to see mac be gay onscreen. please let him be gay onscreen. to me the episode is full of pieces that didnt quite fit together. why did dee disappear for the last few minutes. why was uncle jack there he was so useless and unfunny. the sinned system reveal and the dating sequence was awesome though.
7. cursed - i really need to rewatch this episode. none of the plotlines feel fleshed out enough so it all kind of blurs together. why was cricket involved? why was uncle jack there again someone needs to kill him fr. i liked mac's chase utley lore but other than that i feel like nothing actually happened this episode lol?
8. risk-e-rat - i just. cannot get past how nearly every scene is some iteration of "wow i dont like X, that's not how it was when we came here!". the characters barely did anything they just kept saying shit. this season has episodes that are so goddamn repetitive and this by far is the worst. it was boring. they didnt even fuck the rat. not even their criminal activities can make up for that.

I Watched the Animaniacs Reboot and I LOVE IT
When I first heard about it a few years ago, I was on the fence, thinking there was no way they’d be able to replicate the clever humor, how it wouldn’t be the same, etc. Then, after seeing a couple of clips on YouTube and liking what I saw, I borrowed the Season 1 and 2 DVDs from the library and gave it a go.
It. Was. PHENOMENAL.
Surpassed my expectations and left me eager for Season 3, which I believe is happening this year (which means I likely won’t be able to see it until next year since I don’t want a Hulu subscription). In a time when I’ve been feeling really depressed, this show made me laugh and cheered me up more than anything else has.
Here are all the reasons why the reboot succeeds and is well worth your time:
1. The original voice cast is back. Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille, Jess Harnell, and Maurice LaMarche are all reprising their roles, and you can really tell how much they love their characters. It bleeds into every sketch.
2. Despite being marketed as a family show for kids, this version of Animaniacs is clearly aimed at an older audience, mostly millennials like me who enjoyed it as kids and are grown up. There’s some slapstick for the young ones, but most of the jokes are wordplay, parodies, political/cultural satire, and barely-disguised sex jokes. I really dug it, and enjoy that kind of thing more than I do in the original because I actually understand it. I was so young in the 90′s that some of the bits about celebrities and pop culture went over my head and still aren’t all that clear to me, whereas now I understand everything.
3. Instead of having 15 different characters like the original, only the Warners and Pinky and the Brain feature in the reboot. This was, in my opinion, the best decision they could have made. With the exception of Slappy Squirrel, I really didn’t care for any of the other characters. They were boring, void of any personality beyond one or two basic traits, and just didn’t really add much. Tightening the focus to the best-loved of them all makes the writing much better since the creators aren’t spread too thin.
4. The reboot clearly had a much bigger budget than the original, which means the animation is more consistently good. Some of the older episodes look really dated and have mistakes in them, while the newer ones are well-drawn, more colorful, and just nicer to look at. This isn’t the original’s fault; it was made in an era where television wasn’t as respectable an art form and they didn’t have a built-in audience like the reboot does. But it’s still definitely a point in the new version’s favor.
5. The humor for the reboot has clearly been updated for the current social climate. One thing I didn’t care for in the original was how Yakko and Wakko would throw themselves all over any woman of childbearing age, and Dot did pretty much the same for any man while saying “Boys! Go fig.” This doesn’t happen in the reboot. Hello Nurse is gone, Warner Bros. has a woman CEO who Yakko and Wakko don’t flirt with, and Dot has more of a personality outside of simply being “the girl” or “the cute one.” There’s even a bit in the revamped theme song where they sing, “Gender-balanced, pronoun-neutral, and ethnically diverse!” And yes, that does feel a bit like pandering, but still. I like it.
6. FUCKING PINKY AND THE BRAIN. Whoever is writing them knows what they’re doing because just about every episode with those gay mice is pure gold. And speaking of gay mice, Season 2 really dials up the gay subtext between the characters. Rob Paulsen and Maurice LaMarche have fully admitted there is love between the two and that they play them as kind of an elderly gay couple, and this dynamic is so delightful to watch. Season 1 is more similar to the original, but Season 2...man, they really threw the Brinky shippers a bone with Season 2. Brain is far less physically abusive with more cutesy facial expressions, there’s more hugging, and even a few episodes dedicated to showing how much they care about each other. For most of the season, the world domination plot takes a backseat to whatever is going on between them, and I just. Love it so much. The Christmas special of their ‘90s spinoff, the one where Brain cries over Pinky’s love for him in a letter to Santa, is the episode that won them the Emmy, and I think the writers learned from this and wisely decided to do more in that vein.
The fact that this is being made in the 2020s and not the 1990s means they can really go hard on the gay, and the result is that I actually enjoyed the mice even more than the Warners. There’s a super touching and emotional scene where you’re led to believe that Pinky has died, and Brain has tears in his eyes about it. Now, the audience knows Pinky can’t be dead because it isn’t that kind of show. Animaniacs is a silly cartoon full of satirical sketches, not the kind of media where characters get killed. So I knew Pinky was going to spring back to life at any second (which is of course what happens), but the important thing here was that Brain didn’t know that. He genuinely believed Pinky had died, and the tears in his eyes tugged at my heartstrings in a way I hadn’t felt in a long time. Then he does something I could not believe the creators were willing to have him do:
He kisses his hand and then caresses Pinky’s face with it in a loving gesture.
I about melted from sheer emotion at that scene. Not since Basil and Dawson have I had so many feels over cartoon gay mice.
There was a similar bit in Wakko’s Wish where we’re meant to think Dot is dead, only for her to snap back to life a minute later. That one didn’t work nearly as well because we’re told that Yakko knew she was acting the whole time and was only pretending to cry over her. The result here is that you feel cheated and manipulated because you were led to believe that Yakko was in emotional distress when he wasn’t. They were smart enough to avoid that with Pinky and the Brain by having Brain actually believe Pinky was dead, so the emotion feels genuine and sincere. They’re able to have moments like these that the Warners really can’t, so I think the mice have more potential. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if we got a reboot of their spinoff as well. They’re just so damn good together.
All of this is not to say that the reboot is perfect. There are some sketches that are duds, a few god-awful ideas that don’t work like those stupid alien and gnome bits, and way too many fat jokes for comfort. Plus the songs aren’t quite as catchy and memorable as they were in the 90′s, though there are a few good ones.
But even with all of that said...anyone who loved Animaniacs should really give the reboot a chance. It kept what was good and scrapped what was bad from the original, and if they can keep that up in Season 3, I’ll be very happy.

MY TOP 10 K-DRAMAS OF 2022!
honestly, there weren’t so much k-dramas that i’ watched this year. and yep, as a k-drama junkie, i do not take pride. (i blame engineering for this *angry emoji*)
anyway, you should know that it might not be the same as yours since we probably did not watch the same k-dramas, ofc! :\\
// in no particular order //
10. Tomorrow - there are so much life lessons that we could get from this. i think, now more than ever, it’s important to raise awareness that depression exists and that it should be taken seriously. it is definitely a great reminder to always be kind because everyone is fighting a hard battle that you may or may not know about.
9. Little Women - i liked that it gets better every episode. it wasn’t boring at all because there were so much twists after twists which made the storyline more exciting and captivating. it’s also a reminder that money is powerful but it should never be the cause to lose your integrity. needless to say, i think this is one of the best k-dramas of 2022—cmon it’s kim go eun, everyone!
8.  Business Proposal - it’s not a typical romantic comedy drama about the rich and poor relationship because the storyline is way more fresh. thus, it was definitely a good watch as it also deeply instilled life and love lessons in me. kim se jeong and ahn hyo seop?? AHUHU i hope they could cast again in another drama—their chemistry is undeniable!
7. Money Heist Korea - although the plot was very predictable for me, as someone who had watched the original, i still think that it did not disappoint. overall, the storyline was perfect! the twists were Intriguing! the acting was phenomenal! the casts were remarkable! it still delivered the same message from the og that it was more than just a heist but a political revolution.
6. Twenty Five Twenty One - ahuhuhu! though i am one of those who wished for a happy ending for hee-do and yi-jin, i also believe that it was really what the drama wanted to deliver. it was more than just a romantic drama, but a slice of life that will teach us to know our worth, to follow our passion, to cherish every moment, and to realize that love doesn’t always last forever. :((
5. Extraordinary Attorney Woo - not only did it tackle timely and relevant issues of the society that made it interesting, it was also undeniably an eye-opening and heartwarming drama that will teach us to be kind and to let go of prejudice. this is also a reminder to invest in good education, to get out of our comfort zone, to be happy with other people’s success, and to know that every one deserves to be treated with love and respect.
4. Weak Hero Class 1 - i said it before and i will say it again: park ji hoon’s and choi hyun wook’s acting were out of the world! to be honest, i am not really a fan of action, but there was something in the plot that got me hooked. the analytical skill of si-eun was extraordinary which made it unique from other high school drama. and of course, it wasn’t just about actions, we would also learn from here the importance of being surrounded with good people, being in a right circle of friends, being able to take a break from academic stresses, and knowing our true selves.
3. Under the Queen’s Umbrella -  i'm happy that there were no cliff-hangers! the ending was heartwarming and tear-jerking at the same time (for some reason). It did not only give us brilliant actors and amazing storyline, but it has also courageously reminded us that such problems exist: prejudice, nepotism, jockeying, among others. the queen did not only protect her sons  but she also brings out the best in them. i'm definitely going to miss your smile, your run, and your umbrella, eomma mama! FACT: KIM HYE SOO'S ACTING IS UNMATCHED!
2. My Liberation Notes - perhaps some would not agree that it is one of the gems of 2022...?? this was a slice of life k-drama that depicts the daily lives of the three siblings. every scene was relatable and realistic that it would make you feel like you’re a part of it just by watching it. does that make sense? their story made me realize the importance of being honest to ourselves, that it’s okay to ask for help, and that having five minutes of peace a day can make life bearable.
1. Alchemy of Souls -  to say that i am grateful for this k-drama is an understatement. i promise...the casts? the storyline? the cinematography? the acting? perfect! that is why everyone is engrossed in it! i wouldn’t even bother to continue the part two if i didn’t like the part one! i promise, this is worthy of a chef’s kiss. :))
to more k-dramas this 2023!! happy new year, everyone!

How do you ranked the Season 2 episodes?
Ok I did have to think about this a bit but going from least favourite to my favourite this is how I would rank them and why.
8) 2x08 No Funerals- Whilst this episode had some really great moments in it, I did find it seemed very much like a filler episode, it was just moving people around to where they needed to be ready for season 3. I miss the days when finales of seasons were action packed big episodes, where as this one, despite having two or three really great moments, was actually kind of boring. I mean 15 minutes into this nearly hour long episode and the fold was already gone and Aleks was dead, it kind of dragged from there to be real.
7) 2x07 Meet You In The Meadow- This is one where I don't really remember much that happened in it, I do think it was a much more action packed episode with Aleks' grisha attacking Alina and Co. It was an ok episode but I can't say it was really one that stood out to me.
6) 2x01 No Shelter But Me- This is where it gets a little harder, I did really like this episode I thought it was a solid start to the season but much like the finale it did have that feel of moving the characters to where they needed to be for the season, introducing the new characters etc. Still a really good episode but I just think there were other episodes that had a bit more excitement in them.
5) 2x05 Yuyeh Sesh (Despise Your Heart)- This was another episode that I thought was really good particularly the crows story line and that wanting makes you weak scene between darklina, I also like the convo between Alina and Baghra, but there were moments when this episode felt a little slow. But it was still a really good episode.
4) 2x02 Rusalye- I did enjoy this episode particularly the scenes with Nikolai and Alina and I also liked seeing the sea whip. The tether scene between darklina was also one of their best tether scenes in my opinion. Again the crows storyline was really good and had alot of tense moments and plenty of action.
3) 2x06 Ni Weh Sesh (I Have No Heart)- This one might have come higher in the list if it weren't for the M*lina part of the storyline, alot of the revelations like M*l being the amplifier and from the morozova bloodline I already knew and they just didn't have that much of an emotional impact on me to be honest. That being said Baghra's death and seeing Aleks grief really did gut punch me, also the story with Sankta Neyar was just incredible I loved her whole speech about what it was like to live as an immortal and how her husband wasn't her weakness that he was her universe, that really did get me emotional. I also really liked seeing all the visions of the crows and learning more about Jesper's backstory.
2) 2x03 Like Calls To Like- I have one complaint about this episode and that is that I wish some of the bigger moments like genya beiing scarred and Baghra's finger being cut off had been spread across two episodes so it didn't seem so sudden, it just seemed like too many big moments crammed into one episode. But otherwise I really loved this episode, I loved the scenes with baghra and aleks, I loved the scene between Inej and Kaz where he tells her about his brother and helps her clean her wounds while they talk about finding your opponents weakness, I loved Kaz and Inej's fight scenes and Jesper and Wylan breaking into Pekka's house. It was a very action packed episode.
1)2x04 Every Monstrous Thing- This episode was hands down my favourite. It was one of those rare episodes where I liked the Alina and co side as much as the crow side. I loved seeing Kaz get revenge on Rollins, this speech Kaz gives about how he buried Albie and demands his brother's name in return for the location of Albie just gave me chills, like I think it was Freddy's best performance of the whole 2 seasons, it was amazing. But I also really loved Aleks' attack on the spinning wheel, it was action packed and full of tension and I loved the two darklina scenes, the one where he's speaking to her through the tether having lured her away to safety and he says he'll be back for her, and also when they meet for real and fight in the hall. This whole episode just had me on the edge of my seat so it gets number one spot.

ATEEZ: GUERRILLA
It has taken me three days to calm down and form coherent thoughts. This turned out longer than expected so it’s behind a cut. If you haven’t watched the music video, this is your sign from God.
1) Firstly. Who does all the screaming. I want to know. It’s a very important piece of information that I need to know. The laugh is Hongjoong’s but does he also do all the screaming. I need answers, NASA!
2) The Energy. Every single reaction I’ve seen about this song uses the word “energy”. Ateez do what other groups think they’re doing when the genre is hype because I’ve never NOT ONCE seen Ateez slack off. They leave blood and sweat on the floor for their rivals to slip on. When I first heard the song I thought my heart was just pounding from the excitement but my oximeter said I was actually having a near svt episode, lol. I shouldn’t laugh, it’s kind of unpleasant but HR 120 bpm? Yeah, only Ateez tbh.
3) Production Quality. I’d like to thank the Academy and KQ for the increase in budget for the MV because it really shows. They used it in a way that wasn’t an empty flex (expensive clothes, meaningless sets, fireworks) but rather, added to the world they’ve been building up since debut. You can see the narrative continue and I really appreciate that. The audio production on the song is just flaw free for me. I usually have so much to nitpick, even in good songs, but I have nothing else to add to Guerrilla. It must have so many layers and tracks to it but it was quiet when it needed to be and absolutely feral at the right parts. What a way to end a track. It didn’t fade out but exploded like a grenade. You can’t ever say that Ateez don’t commit to a concept in every single sense. You’ve heard of Ugly Crying, well Ateez Ugly Hype and have never been afraid to do that.
3) War Aesthetics. Okay bitch, listen, the creative team really stepped up 800% here for this era and this MV. There are so many warfare references in those 4 minutes that it makes my mind exhausted just thinking of the planning that went into all this. The speaker-bombs were fucking inspired. The use of zeppelins immediately remind me of war, particularly WW1, and an alternative steampunk reality. This part of the MV, which is a piece of art tbh, has got to be a homage to ‘Raising the flag on Iwo Jima’ during WW2 as well as Banksy’s Rage, The Flower Thrower piece in Jerusalem. I think that part of the MV was deliberately in slow motion because the inspiration came from still images. They make very clear statements about war and anti-war sentiments. Without boring you all, the last thing I wanted to mention is the font and colours used for the choreo scenes looks straight from vintage propaganda media. I could keep going but this post is already way too long.
4) Metal/Rock Aesthetics. That band room? With all the cables and amps? The mics? The spy cameras? The tv monitors? The fisheye lens? You can tell the team has watched a billion 1990s music videos. It also reminded me a lot of American Idiot. That’s all I wanted to say about that. There’s just a lot of influence in those shots.
5) Screamo in KPOP?! The way it was incorporated was really well done because it’s not prominent enough to scare away the more sensitive casual listener but it was definitely prominent enough for metal fans to have a crisis. We talk about Cultural Reset-This and Cultural Reset-That but nobody has produced a track like Guerrilla before. Nobody. This is one of those times where you can use hyperbole and be right. Nobody has made a song like this and there is no other song like this in KPOP right now. Respect to the Ateez team and the members for their total commitment because they operate like one big breathing organism and that’s why everything feels cohesive. I’ve been waiting 84 years for this. I hope we get to see it with a band one day.
6) Kim Hongjoong. I don’t know if it’s true or not but I feel his influence all over this. This is HIS era and the style/genre suits him the best. I know he likes Linkin Park and at the very least, this style of music, but I do wonder how much he was able to dictate the Ateez sound and direction. Guerrilla is so good and fed me so well that even if they never do this style again, I’m actually fine with that.
7) Literally. I just think it’s so amusing how literal this whole song/mv is. There’s just no “hidden meanings” or subtleties here. I’m not sure Ateez can even do subtle. Even their soft material is aggressively emotive. Haha.
8) People sometimes wonder why I only write long reviews about Ateez music but it’s because they always give me meat to sink my teeth into. Answer is still my Top 3 favourite kpop songs of ALL TIME. There’s just always so much to talk about and it doesn’t even hinge on how hot the members are. You know a group is Legit Good when visual appeal isn’t the first thing I want to talk about. We’re so lucky to live in the Ateez Era.

Hi here's a tier list of the DHMIS season 2 episodes that nobody asked for (except my boyfriend 😈)
With 1 being best and 6 being good but not my favorite, here's my list
Episode 1 - i believe this one to be my favorite because it's the one i always like replaying. Yes i love episode 4, but i really only like specific parts of the episode like the brain friends and the warren parts- I didn't care much for the computery parts, sorry Collin :((
Episode 3 - this episode is again, another really good one!! I love the twins and the family and just the songs- its an episode that I try to get through fully but sometimes i leave like right around when red guy is kicked from his family- which sucks because i love the full episode i just have a hard time sticking around for the end!! But the songs in this one were so good ough.
Episode 4 - I mentioned before that I do like this one. Warren and the brain friends are the main reason i watch it!! I like the part where they roast him, and when he sings his song- but some parts of the episode are parts where i go on my phone and mess about until it gets to the parts i like.. but again, i love Warren and Yellow guy and its so slay!!!
Episode 6 - this being one of the more important episodes and being more lore based just makes me more intrigued in it. Yes i love silliness but i also love a good story!! Yellow guy in this one was so good and i love Electracey (though her song isn't my favorite but it is pretty good!!) Also gay moment with the fluffybird 🤨 i love them! And leslie- OH MY GOD LESLIE!! She's slaying and she is scary to me. Like roy-and-his-really-long-arm-in-episode-6 type scary. The attic is just so UGH and OUGH
Episode 2 - I really like this one mainly because of the songs, but as much as I love Stain Edwards, i do not like watching the parts with him in it,,, like i love them but i would much rather get to the songs and the main three- I would've put this episode higher up if it weren't for him. And the funeral party scene,,, i know it leads to stain edwards but bleh, i usually mess on my phone until its over.
Episode 5 - OKAY LISTEN,,, i love this episode a ton. I love Choo Choo, and his song, but fuck was the car ride kinda boring to me :((( like it felt like filler to me? But it was good filler ill give you that! It just felt like we were waiting for the more important parts like the little bit Leslie does.. but the filler is really good because it helps drive that kind of.. surprise onto you? Like how everything starts going to shit and the tension is rising.. the episode did a good job, and it was a good opener to Leslie!!

rrranking the dhmis tv episodes.
BREAKING NEWS i like them all in some way. like obvs they’re all so well made
6: family
ok so i had friendship here on my list but i changed my mind. srry ep 3 u rank the last. i loved the creepy factors in the episode (the inherent wrongness of the characters in this grimy, realistic setting), the social commentary was great but! it just didn’t do it for me like the others! maybe because its a narrative we’ve seen before (yellow guy getting lured into a group with nonsensical rules) in the web show! still pretty good but not. amazing. 5: friendship. this one was hilarious. i liked the banter between the trio in this one and the jokes did land for me. warren is obvs a little freak but it goes well with the message about toxic friends they wanted to put out. animation changes my beloved!!! some people say the trio fighting at the end was like. bad but i didnt mind it. i found darkly comedic in a way. 4: jobs
this was a great opener to the show! the themes and characters were established so well. i loved the commentary in this one. the songs were great. comedy was funny. animated scene was great! overall just a really fun episode.
3: transport
the concept of just having 3 characters in a car sounds like. kind of boring but gosh darn does dhmis make it work! a lot of the jokes land well, the performances are good especially near the end and the “lore” actually begins to develop here!
2: electricity
this one is flat out genius. ending the show in true dhmis fashion, giving the audience more questions than answers. there’s only 1 song in this episode but damn is it catchy! the plot with the house levels was rlly interesting. also gay people. 1: death
this had the best opening line ngl. this episode is perfectly dark and comedic at the same time. justice for stain edwards by the way. there was so many good animation shifts in this one (stop motion for the coffin assembling itself! claymation!) and it was just really wild and fun.
