I’ve always been strangely fascinated by Sebastian Vettel’s laughter over the years, so here’s a 5-minute video compilation I’ve put together of the No. 5 F1 driver doing just that. Whether it’s from shyness or from a joke he just made or just genuine laughter, it’s all here! 🥰
I was struggling to upload the video on Tumblr, so I’ve uploaded it onto Google Drive instead. Simply click on the link for a burst of happiness: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fhiY4qHAb1bhVJtBQuEmc19qxKebkWsM/view?usp=drivesdk

On F1 nation podcast, ex-F1 driver Esteban Gutierrez (now Mercedes reserve and development driver) who is privileged enough to see the data within the team said this:
“His tyre management is great,” acknowledged Gutierrez. “Temperature management, engine temperature management, all of those variables. Lewis is thinking on every detail and he’s really good at that.”
Asked how much of a difference a driver who’s on top of those variables can make, the Mexican driver replied: “Yes, massively, especially in a place like Mexico where you gain a big benefit if you manage it.
“That’s why very often you see cars taking air and not taking the tow because you want to make sure your brakes don’t go too far high. And you have to time that properly because you could obviously not get the benefit of the tow.
“But you could get more benefit by having your brakes in a much better stage or your engine and so those variables come into play.”

In 2015, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Räikkönen learnt how to prepare for their first Mexican Grand Prix under Esteban Gutiérrez’s wings. They learn about the language, food, music and the culture of Mexico through him. My favourite segment is where Esteban teaches the two Ferrari teammates about how to pronounce Mexican words and phrases.
