anyway just like i laid out (loosely) in mutual salvation theory and in my previous analysis of TDP’s darkness-light motif Rayla is going to save Callum emotionally/mentally from the darkness (Aaravos), thereby teaching him how to walk in the balance as he comes back from the brink / connects to the Moon arcanum out of his love for her, he is then going to lose her and save her physically from Aaravos by exchanging the cube for her, thank you goodnight

I really like the new poster because it’s almost like Viren and Claudia have the same “goals” (they face the same direction) whereas Callum does not… it implies to me that even though they are all going to be manipulated by Aaravos, Callum’s going to be more difficult to control as he has other motivations and always “pulls another way”. He’s not going to be so easy to get around as there’s always something else keeping him from what he’s “supposed to be doing”… even now we can see he’s distracted by some(one), and is pulling away from Aaravos! I wonder how manipulated he’ll be this coming season… or maybe his desire to be with a certain someone will bring him closer to Aaravos for help. What do you think??

Same! Claudia is by far the most active, with her pose and grasp on the Sun staff, being in the centre and the most in the foreground. Then Viren is next to her, and largely just pulled into her and Aaravos' plans/goals and machinations, respectively. He didn't ask to die or be brought back to life, he's just here now, especially with a ticking time clock, and that's really interesting. I think he'll be tethered to life because obviously Aaravos is gonna get out of the mirror, but Viren also realizing it wasn't worth it? That his own self importance should have come second for once? Would be so good yes please.

And then Callum, aah my boy! He's facing a completely different direction, turned away from the others and the farthest from Aaravos' direct puppet strings, but he is the closest to Aaravos' right hand, which is interesting. He's donning his scarf (which he doesn't have in 4x01, and that's interesting to say the least) and his expression almost perfectly matches the one he wears when he confesses to Rayla in 3x05, if more relieved and a tad sadder / with disbelief.

I think Callum could be manipulated through Aaravos in a "If you knew more / knew this, you could find her, you could save her," angle, but I could also see Callum just being forced between a rock and a hard place, coerced / somewhat forced to do Aaravos' bidding lest he lose another person he loves (with Rayla's life in the balance). He's always had tunnel vision, especially when it comes to people he loves.

Rayla had to curb his disregard for the egg (and his own life) in 1x06 when all he cared about was saving Ezran, and she reminds him again in 3x01 as, when he sees she's in danger, he goes to run at her and she has to point out that Sol Regem, the fucking massive dragon specifically trying to kill him more than anyone, is still there and a problem. Bless his soul

So I think he's no less manipulated, just much less aware that he's going to be, tbh
