Thunder legion hcs but some of them get weirdly specific bc i think abt them too much

(Part 1??)

- Originally Bickslow and Freed lived together as roommates, Evergreen lived in fairy hills and Laxus had his own penthouse. When Fairy Tail disbanded they began living together while they were in Blue Pegasus as it was just easier, and they never stopped (im running off the hc that theyre all living together for most of these)

- Freed is the cook of the raijin tribe, they used to have a cooking rotor but it slowly became just Freed cooking every night

- Evergreen CAN cook basic meals but hates doing it so just, wont. Back when there was a schedule she asked Freed to do it instead and he usually agreed because he enjoys cooking

- Bickslow also can cook, but likes to experiment quite heavily and will not be convinced to make a normal meal. Got banned from cooking after he served shrimp pasta with ice cream

- Laxus can cook you a damn good grilled cheese, but thats it. Only cooks when people are feeling like grilled cheese

- Bickslow is a painter, not-quite Reedus level but still good, they like to paint from the imagination more than from reference which ends in very interesting (and only mildly disturbing) pieces

- Evergreen likes to garden, its something she started when she was young because her mother told her fairies like to care for nature. Their apartment is filled with various plants that she keeps and cares for, and while she could use magic to help them grow she prefers doing it by hand

- Freed enjoys playing a lot of musical instruments, hes best at violin and has been playing since quite young along with piano, but can also play gutair and bass as of more recently. Also has a collection of books in the apartment, originally all stored in his room before he ran out of space

- They have a schedule of getting up at about 7am at the latest most days, its not heavily enforced day to day but they stick to it on missions, if not getting up even earlier depending on the job

- Off-mission though? Nobody is actually getting up at 7am. Bickslow doesnt have a set time to wake but tends to actually be an early riser, he enjoys the mornings so he usually gets up a bit before 7, occasionally to do some painting or stretch ect

- Freed wakes up at 6am sharp and gets straight out of bed, no yawning or stretching or anything just stands up and walks away

- he is also the one attempting to enforce the 7am rule (sorry king) but bickslow usually joins in if only to annoy people

- Evergreen prefers to sleep in a bit more where possible, usually till half 8 or 9 if she can get away with it, then spends way to long in the bathroom doing her hair, makeup, and picking an outfit

- Laxus normally gets up at 10 and is impossible to wake before that, youd have to kick him awake and hes still grumpy afterwards

- Freed is French (I WILL DIE ON THIS HILL) and comes from a military background, specifically a noble house that specialised in military trading and training in France (i have an entire backstory mapped out for this freak if anyones interested drop me an ask)

- Bickslow grew up in the circus, hes always been naturally flexible but its where he honed that ability as well as learning some acrobatics, however it burned down when he was a teenager and the puppets (“babies”) he keeps around are the result of friends who died in that fire

- Evergreen is Scottish and grew up mostly raised by a single mother, her father was around for a few years but was generally a horrible man, a drinker and abuser who eventually left her mother alone. She also has a brother a few years younger than her who she helped to raise and is still close to

- Freed is the tactician of the thunder legion, comes along with being a leader but hes usually the one coming up with the plans

- Speaking of, hes someone who prefers to have a plan before a fight where possible, particularly as his magic is one where its difficult to construct quickly, especially if he wants a high powered jutsu shiki. So while he can think quickly on his feet hed rather have a plan mapped out

- Evergreen is the one who’s best at thinking quickly, if they end up in a situation where a snap decision needs to be made shes confident enough to make it and order her teammates around without second guessing herself

- They also all understand the importance of teamwork and its the main reason they’re so effective (as seen in the battle of fairy tail) their close bond allows them to work extremely well together, even if they tend to argue sometimes

- When Bickslow dislikes someone they have a habit of showing it on his face, usually by pulling a disgusted expression

- Ever does this too in a more subtle way, usually exchanging a glance with one of the thunder legion if shes not liking what somebodies saying. She WILL be gossiping about it later

- If Freeds not interested in a conversation he just silently walks away when youre not looking, people have gone 10 minutes before noticing hes left before

- Laxus just leaves mid-sentence though, doesn’t even think about it just walks away

- None of them can drive anywhere for various reasons, Laxus obviously gets extremely motion sick so is out for the count right off the bat

- Bickslow was banned due to being deemed “a danger to himself and others” after he got too many speeding tickets and crashed the car into a postbox

- Evergreen literally applies makeup while driving, shes blasting the radio while doing lipstick without looking at the road and its terrifying

- Freed is who people THINK would be the most responsible driver, and while he’ll get you to your destination safely, he also has a bad habit of ignoring the speed limit and accidentally running red lights. Unlike Bickslow however hes somehow managed to avoid getting any tickets

- as I said gajeel is nonbinary in a masc way. I don't this Metallica gave a single fuck about gender so gajeel didn't know what it was until he showed up in civilization. Uses he/him but could not care less. All pronouns kind of guy.

- Natsu is a similar but because igneel was a guy Natsu wanted to be to, and he wants to be just like his dad

- I feel like Fried (Freed? It's been like 4 years since the fairy tail hyperfixation) is bigender

- speaking of laxus' crew the knight guy with the souls. Agender. His name escapes me.

- gray is transmasc I make the rules. He and Lyon are both transmasc. They saw each other on galuna Island and mutually understood each other through their twisted siblingesque relationship that they were both men now but they all had bigger problems to content with

- I could see laxus as transfem. But so deeply in the closet it would be physically impossible for him to leave or externalize it. Because it's laxus

Okay top 5 fights you WANT to see happen purely in terms of 'thatd be so cool to watch'

In no particular order:

1. Rufus Lohr vs. Freed OR Doranbolt

Rufus has a very Rustyrose-like feeling to him, very up his own ass about the creative aspect of his magic, which basically lets him make anything he wants. I was very sad we didn't get to see Gray vs. Rustyrose in an art-fight-to-the-death, and I am happy with how Gray defeated Rufus--overwhelming him with a spell that constantly expanded and couldn't be memorized in time for him to avoid it.

But in the spirit of more on-theme match-ups and one-sided fights, not to mention giving underappreciated heroes their dues, I would've liked to see Rustyrose trying to fight Freed--whose magic also does basically whatever he wants and has any number of uses. That, or Doranbolt, who would've immediately rendered his whole fighting style useless.

2. Laxus vs. Gildarts

It's very weird how Gildarts is basically the only opponent left Laxus could conceivably fight on even ground, with only the highest-tier opponents of Zeref and Acnologia really out of his reach. I imagine that if I were to say Laxus was actually stronger than Gildarts, at this point I probably wouldn't get too much pushback online for it. I'm a tier whore at the end of the day and I want to see the two strongest Fairy Tail mages go at it. I think Laxus struggling but winning over Gildarts would be a good prelude to him taking over the position of guildmaster.

3. Macao Conbolt and Romeo Conbolt vs...well, anyone really.

I have a soft spot for Macao and his kid, and I'm a little disappointed we never got to see them have one of those small triumphs that the likes of Elfman and Freed occasionally got. The attempts to include them more in the anime-only Key of the Starry Skies arc fell really flat, with none of their screentime really being effectively used, even against joke characters like Dan Straight. I would've liked to see them have something like the Gildarts and Cana vs. August fight, if not so overly dramatic and dumb as that one.

4. Bickslow vs. Franmalth

Because the latter would explode. That's all.

5. Gajeel vs. Metalicana

Oh, we were very robbed of this one. Natsu might hold endless affection for Igneel, but you can't tell me someone like Gajeel wouldn't treat Metalicana to a souped-up Iron Dragon's Roar straight to the face. Gajeel was a kid when he got seemingly abandoned by his foster father, and I know for a fact he wound be furious when seeing Metalicana just pop up one day in the middle of the Tartaros struggle. He'd be all

"You don't get to tell me I was 'strong enough to handle it'! I was a kid! I trusted you and you left me!"

And I think we deserved to see that.

rune and bickslow, in terms of tropes, go from childhood friends to coworkers to angrily crushing to friends to lovers.

but to put it into more detail, bickslow and rune met each other on the border of the kingdoms of fiore and ilva caelore (a non-canon kingdom of elves). while rune was stuck inside their kingdom’s barrier, bickslow happily told them what the outside world was like and colored their world. but sadly, rune’s caretaker banned them from leaving the castle walls as they grew older, so they lost contact with him, and actually never new his real name.

so flash forward to when rune joins fairy tail. they’re terrible with people bc they don’t know how to deal with kindness, and the guild is all incredibly loud and friendly and teasing, and suddenly this one guy comes up and decides to adopt them for seemingly no reason??? and that’s how they meet bickslow again, and bickslow fully knows that it’s them but they have no idea it’s him.

but the more time they spend with him, the more butterflies stir in their stomach and it’s just not normal how he makes them feel. so they try to drive him away: they’re short with him, they threaten to bite him, they do bite him. but bickslow takes this all in stride because they’re never once mean to him. sure, they don’t talk a lot and their replies are short, and they’ve bitten him, but it’s like dealing with a cat, he figures. he has to approach them on their terms.

and it does settle down after a while between the two of them, with bickslow not randomly pulling them into hugs or surprising them they have time to process their feelings, and by the time tenrou island hits bickslow feels it’s time to actually start making moves again.

and by the time they get back from being frozen in time for 7 years, and get readjusted to things, rune’s ready for a relationship. and they take things slow, but rune’s much more affectionate than bickslow could’ve ever imagined. they like giving him cuddles and hugs, and they’re very happy to give him as much affection as he gives them! its a learning process for them both, but they’re eager to get to know what it’s like to love with an open heart together.

“(Y/N)! Can I get another one?” It was as rowdy as ever in the Fairy Tail Guild, but you didn’t want to have it any other way. Gray had thrown his shirt God knows where ready to fight Natsu while Erza kept an eye on the two said boys. Cana was talking loudly as she usually does when she gets drunk. Jet and Droid were gushing over Levy while she had a conversation with Lucy and Wendy. Happy was trailing behind Carla like a lost puppy. It was the usual stuff.

“I’ll be there in a second!” You yelled back as you passed Mira-Jane behind the bar to get to the beer. You tapped the golden liquid and went to give it to Cana.

On your way back, strong arms snaked around your waist making you yelp out of surprise “hello to you too, princess”

“You scared me” You slapped Bickslow’s chest as he chuckled and placed a kiss on your cheek before telling why he stopped you “Me, Freed, Laxus and Evergreen are going out on a mission, you wanna come?”

“No, thank you” You kindly declined as you walked back to the bar with Bickslow following in your steps, a frown evident on his face.

“You never go out on a mission with me” he whined, making you chuckle and peck his bottom lip that stuck out.

“Well, I guess I like it more inside the guild. It’s less dangerous and less stressful” You replied as you started to wash the glasses that were piling up. He cocked his head to the side in confusion but shrugged his shoulders and let it slide.

“We’ll probably be back in the afternoon, don’t miss me too much” With that your boyfriend was gone along with his friends, leaving you to continue to look after the guild along with Mira-Jane.

After the busy Lunch break, you noticed that you were running low on some supplies, meaning you had to go take a trip to the market to buy some more food and other stuff. “Mira? I’m gonna head into town and stock up on some necessities, I’ll be back in a bit”

“I’ll come with you!” Lucy exclaimed to which you agreed. You weren’t going to turn down help, knowing fully well how much of a pain it will be to get all the groceries back.

“Hey, I was wondering, how did you and Bickslow end up together?” the blonde asked as you looked at the fresh strawberries, trying the find the right batch.“It’s because we’re so different, isn’t it?”

“I’m sorry I didn’t mean- “ she quickly cut herself off when she heard you chuckling “It’s fine, you’re fine. After all, you’re not the first one to ask”

You handed the lady behind the counter some money before continuing your search and your story “I’ve been helping Mira with the guild for as long as I can remember so of course, he knew who I was. Him being a part of the Thunder God Tribe also made him well known in the guild. Bickslow always says that he knew I was the one from the day he saw me lash out at Natsu for being so careless after he accidentally burned me. He only wanted me to bring them food or drinks and every time I did, he had a bad joke prepared to try and make me smile. I always felt somewhat invisible in the guild, but it was like I was the only one there in his eyes. Laxus decided one day that he had enough of Bicklow’s bad attempts at jokes so decided to take things in his own hands. He dragged us out of the guild and told us not to come back until we had gone on a date. And I guess that’s where our story started”

“Who would’ve thought that Laxus would be the one to bring people together "Lucy chuckled, making you laugh along “I know right ”

Lucy and you continued to shop until you had everything you needed. “I feel like my arms are gonna fall off”

“Stop your whining, we’re nearly at the guild You chuckled as you could see the said building in the distance.

Once inside, you two went to the storage room and put everything in the right place “I guess that’s everything”

You were about to leave when you heard your boyfriend and his friends talking about you "I could always ask (Y/N) to be part of the Fairy Tail B team”

“Don’t bother,” Bickslow told Laxus “ She doesn’t even want to go on a job. She’d never want to participate in something as exciting as the Grand Magic Games. She says that she doesn’t want to do anything besides this boring job, no offence Mira”

“None taken” Mira replied as you could hear the sound of glasses clinking together and the sound of streaming water, signalling she was cleaning them.

“Anyway, you should probably ask Juvia or something. (Y/N) doesn’t like to get out of her comfort zone. ” Bickslow said, making Evergreen snort at that “makes you wonder how you two ended up together. She’s so boring”

As you listened to the conversation you couldn’t help but take his words to heart. You’ve always known you two were incredibly different, but you didn’t know he viewed you as boring. Sure you were known for not going out on missions, simply because you didn’t want to put yourself in harm's way, but did that make you boring? Did he view Mira boring as well? Probably not because she’s a known S-class wizard you do not want to mess with.

“Are you okay? ” Lucy snapped you out of your thoughts as she noticed your sudden change in mood.

You covered your doubts with a smile “Yeah! Of course, let’s go”

You reappeared in the guild alongside Lucy with a bright smile as if nothing happened, but in the back of your mind, the same thoughts about you being boring kept playing over and over again.

You decided to do something about it and asked your boyfriend to go on a job the next day. To say he was surprised, was an understatement “Of course I wanna go on a job with you!”

This went on for a couple of weeks. You often took more jobs in a day to seem like you were always doing something new and exciting. As the days past Bickslow noticed how more tired and unhappy you grew. You always brushed it off and told him it was nothing, but he wasn’t so sure if he liked the new you if it meant he had to give up his alone time with you. You hardly went on date nights any more because you were either away or asleep. Sometimes you two went days without seeing each other because either he just went on a job when you came back or the other way around.

He finally decided he had enough and sat you down to talk about his concerns. “(Y/N)? Can we talk? ”

“Can we do it another time? I’m about to go on this job” You said as you looked at the paper in your hand that held the description.

“It’s rather urgent” He pleaded, making you look up from your paper. When you saw that there was no sign of his usual cheeriness, you knew something was up. You gave in a went to a more isolated table in the guild. “So, what you wanna talk about? ”

“What’s up with the personality switch?” He asked.

“What do you mean?” You asked, pretending to be oblivious to what he was referring to.

He frowned at your dishonesty, unsure if he had done something to upset you, so he decided to just be blunt about it, “We hardly see each other lately because either you’re on a job or I’m on a job and when we finally get a moment alone together you don’t want to do anything because you’re too tired.”

“I thought you’d like this less boring side of me” you mumbled.

He tilted his head a little to the side as he looked at you in confusion “Boring? Who told you that?”

You chewed on your bottom lip as you gather the courage to talk about your insecurities “I overheard you and your friends talking about the Grand Magic Games and how you said to not even bother asking me because I don’t want to do anything except for my boring job. After that Evergreen called me boring, and you didn’t comment on it, so I assumed you also think that’s true”

Bickslow was ready to protest, because he was certain to never talk behind your back about something like that, but a vague memory of that day crept inside his mind. He had never thought much of the exchange, but seeing how much it affected you, he couldn’t help but start to feel guilty.

“(Y/N), listen to me, I do not think you’re boring. Sure, your job is boring, I ain’t gonna deny that but that has nothing to do with your personality. Who cares if you don’t like to put yourself in danger? Does that make you boring? Absolutely not, because I know that when push comes to shove you’ll be the first in line to protect everyone in this guild. I fell for you because of your caring nature and the goodhearted soul you have in you. Are you a daredevil? Absolutely not. Does that make you boring? Maybe a little. Do I care about that? No, most definitely not, because you have so much better traits that people could only dream of having. ” He took his helmet off, took your hands in his and never once broke eye contact. Desperately trying to show how much he meant it.

“But what about the first time you really fell for me? You said it was after I scolded Natsu for burning me. You always said you knew I was the one after you saw my fierce side.” You frowned.

He chuckled softly at the memory, seeing as you completely misunderstood why he knew he was going to make you his after that day. “I mean sure, seeing you all fired up and scolding someone much stronger than you was undeniably hot, but that’s not the real reason. After you got burned and put Natsu in his place, you didn’t even care about your wound. You were quick to check up on Gray and Natsu to see if they had gotten hurt in the process. You always put others first. Your selfless personality is what got me drawn in. I’d pick your caring and loving side any day over the reckless and daring side. I am so sorry for making you feel like you were boring. I never meant to make you feel that way”

“No, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have assumed things” You apologized as well.

“Please don’t apologize. I should’ve realized sooner what was going on. How about I make it up to you with a proper date? We haven’t been on one in a while and I really missed my girl at my side” He suggested.

“I’d love to” You agreed as you planted your lips softly on his.
