I've been playing d1 and it's remarkable how much more rewarding gameplay feels. I get to upgrade my weapons based on how much I use them. My armour unlocks upgrades when it absorbs damage and protects me. My blue (rare) auto rifle has like 9 different perks, that can only be unlocked through use (i.e. xp) or motes of light - it's not even legendary and it's amazing.
D1 also feels more rewarding because you can tell most of the green (uncommon) rifles (and, weapons in general) aren’t absolute dogshit but actually have models and responsiveness like Halo battle rifles, auto rifles or pulse rifles. Even if you find a blue (rare) rifle which you like better and which has better stats, responsiveness and model, you would only pick that because it’s better, not because the greens are bad on their own. I’ll admit getting generic world-drop armor isn’t as rewarding because the in-game models aren’t crafted as uniquely as rares and legendaries in D2 (also, rare and legedary gear drops much more often in D1), though the range of armour sets is much greater in D2 and some are much more strongly repulsive or attractive, and I prefer only a few styles of Hunter armour in D1 - 3/4 or full-length capes, flowing smooth fabric instead of weird pointy textures, and just a bit of a hood with no huge high collars - so I’ve spent quite a lot of time looking forward to level 40 / TTK/Rise of Iron armor sets (essentially free-to-play non-strike PVE endgame content) instead of enjoying what I have.
Thankfully, it’s not like D2 where you might as well throw out most rare weapons because you can’t infuse them (light level creep is stupid btw and sunsetting is worse) or they look or feel like shit. (There are exceptions: for example in D2 I like the Cuboid ARU, the suros kinetic auto, and the suros elemental auto rifles, and there’s nothing wrong with the Plemusa-B grenade launcher, with its static auto-loading perk).
Everything in D2 feels more solid and also more...bulky and newer and more generic. Every time I go back to D1 I feel like I’m smarter cos I learn the types of rifles and can recognise my fav ones by name first and icon second. It feels like a more unique game. (In D2 I look at the icon of a blue weapon and I almost immediately scrap it cos it’s just not as good as a legendary. I learn the individual weapons instead of the weapon types, which is good in terms of a memory exercise but less interesting in terms of the process of recall. It also highlights exactly just how many weapons the D2 team has had to import or create which are then almost never used because they can’t be infused or don’t have good perks found on legendary weapons and thus are discarded in favour of lengendary weapons. It’s to the art/asset team’s credit that they made so many weapons that look and feel unique and it’s sad that the gameplay/sandbox team have a system which obfuscates that effort.)
Don’t get me wrong, D2Y1 does have a much better story, because the Red War returns guardians to a place of struggle against a much more powerful force - the Red Legion - and that’s much better than D1, where you get rezzed and make your way to the Last City, and the storyline of Crota/The Black Garden Sol Divisive IS there but it just doesn’t feel impactful AT ALL. The Tower is a big shining example in the Last City on Earth of... I have no idea what. The House of Wolves expansion is ...okay. There is very little characterization to differentiate the different Fallen houses and I just don’t care. The Taken King is good, and Rise of Iron is good, but they all still suffer from everything being imparted through lore and voiced radio communications, instead of being shown on screen. (That’s why Forsaken is so good - it shows you working with Cayde and Petra on screen.)
On an entirely separate note, I only picked up D2 in season of the undying at the end of Shadowkeep, but I did as much of the Shadowkeep campaign as possible (i.e. not including the black garden and pit of heresy) and I'm glad to find I'm not the only person who thought the storyline started and then went absolutely nowhere. (People who are on PC or have paid subscription and who have done the strikes and dungeon agree that the campaign story starts and then goes nowhere.) You enter the garden, see yourself and the pyramid and the pyramid shard, and that's it. It was supposed to be an introduction to the arrival of the pyramids and the contact with the Darkness in Season of Arrivals which itself is a prelude to the second Collapse (the loss of most of the planets) and the beginning of the Year 4 to Year 6 trilogy, Beyond Light/Witch Queen/Lightfall; BUT Shadowkeep actually mostly had a “revenant Hive” theme (for the missions, excluding the raid) and was kinda empty once you finished it, unlike Forsaken, and quite like Beyond Light, which has a “frozen Fallen” theme (for the patrol spaces, excluding the Vex content). Both also stray away from the greater theme. I guess the intent is to drip content slowly and flesh out side-characters and make a more interesting filled world instead of just dropping huge plotlines, but, it kinda sucks.
On another entirely separate note, in D1 you get introduced to darkness zones where you can't respawn (to make it more challenging for gameplay). Since they're always populated by large numbers of enemies or a few very powerful enemies, I always got the impression that the Darkness as defined in the Destiny universe literally exudes from those individuals who operate by Sword logic ie that they'd rather kill races different to their own than greet and extend the hand of friendship. Thus in some physical spaces such as the lair of a particularly powerful Hive boss, you can’t respawn in that space, because they are so powerfully evil. In a similar way, the guardians spread light by exploring and gaining knowledge and pushing back the enemies of humanity (like how the jedi figuratively spread light by doing good deeds with the force) although light can’t be used to suppress minions of the dark from resurrecting (normally - Hive are a special case) because the inverse is untrue; the Darkness doesn’t automatically resurrect dead individuals, whilst Ghosts using the Light do.
But in D2 we meet the pyramids who are literally the embodiment of the Darkness, and with beyond light, we learn they can literally take planets away. This is such a big difference in both storytelling and lore implications.
They don't themselves create races that then spread across the universe and operate by Sword logic (as far as I know which is not every much) but they're just sort of there. It seems terribly inconsistent. I mean yes the whole of Destiny is stupid. Planets disappear and no one gives a hoot actually. Characters die or are killed off and there are few lasting repercussions because our character can’t (can’t die). Characters are used or ununused on the basis of their voice actors’ availability, not story or lore. It’s so inconsistent, like, yes, bad guys exist and can kill you but not permanently. But then gods also exist but you can kill them, sometimes permanently. Hive bosses definitely you can kill, you’ve just got to do it twice before sunset (once in the normal world and once in their throne world). But then also para-causal beings exist but and they can harm you but never permanently really.

Poor Stormblood. Gameplay-wise it's near the peak of static-based raiding. Role interdependence was at its highest, fight pacing was at its tightest (even if it began the trend of 'fight loops'), there was never a better time to be a tank IMO.
It's an honest shame that when speaking to newer players that entire experience is gone, otherwise I feel like Stormblood would be a clear winner in your poll. People going through that expansion are often told that it's a narrative flat point between HW and ShB -- a fair and popular statement mind you, but it's the gameplay that made it what it was.
More accessible than HW, more involved than ShB, it's almost an entirely different game to play compared to what we have now in EW. Too bad that anyone who started in the last three years - soon to be four - will never know what it was like. That game is gone, and in its place is something wildly more popular.
It stings a bit more because the promise of Stormblood's story is sort of lost in the transition between expansions. The triumphant defeat of the Empire gives way to the quagmire of the First. The continued liberation efforts fall to the Bozja questline. We meet Gabranth, realize that the internal conflict of the Empire will soon tear it apart and partition it as imperial Legatii carve their own hold-outs.
Too bad by the time we get there, Garlemald has fallen apart off-screen. I feel like if we had seen the results of the empire's fall through the border provinces, seen what Gabranth was doing to make Rabanastre a Bulwark, Stormblood would feel like a much more relevant expansion.
Here stand the Ala Mhigans, those who rose up and threw off the yoke and stand proud. Here stand the So-and-so, battered people under the sympathetic aegis of a deserter legion.
We got small parts of it in the Garlean section of EW, but as one of those people who wishes EW was two expansions, I wish there was more to it. We move so swiftly to the cosmic conflict that the people are the tale of a single zone, when the demise of Garlemald is sort of an earth-shaking event all on its own.
I can only really look at it via story and general leveling experience, though I really enjoyed the omega raid when we did it. But if I were to rank FF14 out of ten, ARR would be 7, SB 8, HW 9, EW 10 and ShB 10.5. So generally very good all around.
I can agree though that they did let the imperial part of the storyline fall by the wayside. I expected more.
I actually enjoyed the SB story, but I think it's primary problem (besides splitting the story the way it was when it probably would have been better served as 2 expansions) was a bad balance between the overarching story and the closer, more personal moments. The Epic Scope vs
Also Zenos just didn't come across the way they wanted, I think. He's such a flat, boring character that even his constant threat didn't really make me feel all that threatened? ho hum, there's zenos again.
I honestly think they didn't know what to do with the imperials when they did ARR and when it was time to come back to it they were still flailing a bit as to how to handle it.
I am loving though with 6.3 we're getting to see the AFTER.
How do you, as a people, try to survive, to find means to thrive again, after all that you knew collapsed? How do you recover from the indoctrination? Wrestle with the crimes of your nation and overcome your pride?
I'm liking that part. I'm liking getting to see and help with what happens to the Evil Empire after it collapses. They're people, lied to for decades, hatreds and prejudices stoked for all that time. It's messy, we can see that in some of the dialogue and reactions.
Love ala mhigo though. When my character was leveling I had her hail from there, After I made her a viera (no later than post SB doing Omega per screenshots I have, trying to find the older ones I KNOW I have somewhere), I still kept ala mhigo and her backstory the same, the only difference being she wasn't born there; merely settled there after leaving the green, fought in the civil war and then fled during the imperial invasion. but ala mhigo is as much a part of her heart as the Green was, or as Ishgard became.

12 and 14 for destiny ?👀
had to put this under a readmore it got way too long lmao
12. A ship I'd like to blow to smithereens with canon cannonballs aside from the easy picks (incest and shit) i don't truly care enough about shipping to have any pairings i personally resent or heavily dislike. sure there's a few that are common enough to be a little annoying, but also like. i get why those are popular (they're usually canonxoc pairings) and some iterations are actually kinda neat! imo most ships can be cool if the storyteller can give me a compelling enough reason to care. It's not so much the ship as it is the execution. that's dependent on skill though, something honed with time and practice, where derision is a poor substitute for critique.
14. The character/story arc I find the most compelling
character arcs i don't know about ( i could give a small unsourced rant on how d2's method of storytelling makes character arcs feel messy and inconsistent but for the sake of brevity i won't) as for story arcs i think i'll break it down a bit by type
Expansion - Forsaken, and Red War (ik ik controversial pick please let me explain before you get the pitchforks) Forsaken's the obvious choice, its events have far reaching repercussions, and the story itself is solid. A tale of vengeance for a fallen ally, the resulting manhunt leading into a cursed city full of secrets. Some of the scorned barons are a little forgettable as antagonists but there's also plenty that still stick. Uldren's corruption growing steadily more visible, and Riven!Mara being creepy as all hell is a fun thing to cut back to in between baron fights. I remember freaking the fuck out at the "O Brother Mine" line on my first playthrough. It's just really good. We have a solid reason to be there and to do what we do. Red War is.. well I'm sure it's partially nostalgia talking so take my feelings with a big heap of salt but! I liked Red War, and I think it worked well as an introductory point to the series (or at least it did for me). You start off by showing up to the tower right after it's come under attack by the red legion, then get kicked off a ship and lose your light, then have to flee the city (while one of the most heart-wrenching tracks in the series plays in the background). The traveler's dream sequence is cool, hawthorne is really neat (and im kinda sad she's lost relevance) the mission to destroy the almighty is maybe a liiitle star wars but well, i had a star wars phase, i loved that shit. Sure, sure, ghaul wasn't really the most complicated villain (or a very hard final boss) the speaker wasn't really elaborated on until late in the story ( i had no clue who he was or why he was important the first time i played, until like, right before he died.) But. Red War wasn't that bad from a story perspective. (hot take i know) now you might be wondering, "but what about witch queen? or beyond light? surely those were better??" and i mean?? they were good but i didn't really latch onto them in the same way. with regards to beyond light it was a mix of things. the reason we took on stasis just felt kinda iffy. like it should have been a choice, (or a stronger reason should have been given for us taking it on) but for gameplay reasons it couldn't be, and so the game and the narrative grated against eachother in a way that felt very obvious. Also, that one really cheesy cutscene right towards the end kinda ruined the tone of the whole climax. All the stuff with braytech (fucked up experimence) and the eliksni (hi eramis) was cool though. and like, the mother freakin DEEP STONE CRYPT as a raid is still a super sick concept. (i ran it once and was basically carried through so unfortunately i don't remember much of it. but it was cool) most of my sliding off of witch queen just has to do with me never really getting all that invested in the hive. I've tried, believe me. I've read their lore and stuff, my brain just doesn't latch on to them the way it did with some other factions. (the vex and scorn are kinda in the same boat, it's not that i dont see the appeal, it's just that they don't appeal to me as much as say, the eliksni.) witch queen was good, it just wasn't my personal fave. (there is after all, a difference between things that are good and things i like. i have trash taste sometimes and i'm willing to own it.)
i was gonna do a section on seasons as well but this is already a mile long and there's so many of them
bonus round - looser more nonspecific arc that's more like a theme or trend: As much as its execution has had holes, i've really been a fan of the trend of us turning previous enemy factions into allies. the three way alliance is really cool, and it's a lot of what i've been wanting from canon for a while, as well as something i sort of thought would never actually happen. like, the three factions each using their unique talents in concert with one another to fight back a greater threat is just kinda awesome. It's nice to see the theme of "we are stronger together" applied to more than just humanity. Also it feels right that since the traveler is big on forgiveness and letting things live, we have to take on some of that philosophy ourselves, or risk becoming no different from the servants of darkness.

Guardians kinda suck, they're space cops protecting an orb that has been proven to not actually care for people. I want to be a cool Eliksni (fallen) just a little beetle person with 4 arms and skitter around with all my homies and prevent guardians from continuously destabilizing our attempts at organizing a government and a new homeworld.
genuinely I’m still miserable to this day that we can’t play as the other races
I want to play as an Eliksni guardian working with Mithrax
or a Cabal guardian that deserted Calus or the Red Legion or something
or a Vex from some kind of splinter sect that was so moved by Saint-14 & guardians in general that they decide “maybe our best interest for survival is to become more like them”
“but none of this is lore-friendly” The lore and narrative are fictional and created by people who can create any justification they need for interesting gameplay experiences
about the only issue with it I can think of is “designing & rigging new armour for all these different body types would take a lot of time and resources”, which is fair, but I will still continue to dream because dreaming is fun, which is why I do it every night

Halo 3: Another 2007, Another Bungie, Another Finish
There exists another universe in which, in 2007, Bungie Studios released a different version of the then-best-selling game of all time. Whether their Halo 3 is better or worse than our Halo 3 is something each player must decide for themself.
As you remember, from the closing moments of Halo 2...
Don't make a girl a promise ... if you know you can't keep it.
[...]
Why, the Ark, of course.
And where, Oracle, is that?
[...]
Silence fills the empty grave, now that I have gone. But my mind is not at rest, for questions linger on.
Now I will ask, and you will answer.
Alright. Shoot.
[...]
Mission 1: REENTRY
The game opens on the starry night of space. The slowly cooling wreck of a UNSC cruiser is visible some distance away. Cortana recalls in voiceover why she chose Master Chief over the other Spartans. As she speaks, a new ‘star’ appears - a slipspace rupture. A shape emerges and slowly approaches the camera: The Forerunner Keyship from High Charity. The Chief is a stowaway onboard, and Earth challenges him via radio.
Master Chief, do you mind telling me what you’re doing on that ship?
Sir. Finishing this fight.
Begin gameplay. The Chief battles his way out of the Keyship and steals a Phantom dropship. He dives into the Battle of Earth and boards a Covenant supercarrier, joining the ODSTs already fighting within. Reaching the vehicle bay and commandeering a Wraith tank, he blasts through the ship’s bulkheads towards its reactor core. He uses the tank to cause a chain reaction that will destroy the whole carrier, and narrowly escapes towards Earth in a damaged Seraph fighter.
Mission 2: THIRD BETRAYAL
Delta Halo once appeared blue and green from a distance. Now it is a sickly brown, choked by the armies of the Flood. A Pelican and a Phantom rise side by side from the Ring’s surface. The alliance between the surviving humans and Elites will be upheld until they are no longer outnumbered by the undead.
Commander Miranda Keyes, wearing armor pieced together from that of fallen Marines and Elites, leads a rescue mission into High Charity to retrieve Cortana. Sergeant Johnson, similarly equipped, is Player 2. (Unlike the Arbiter in Halo 2, they are mechanically identical to the Chief. Even damaged, the energy shield projectors of gold & white Elites are powerful.) Inside High Charity, the Flood has become stranger, more ancient, more introspective. Cortana’s voice is audible over the city’s PA system, but she does not respond to Keyes’ questions. Keyes encounters, fights, and ultimately puts down Cortana’s jailor, the mutated Prophet of Regret. However, the data-chamber Cortana was imprisoned inside is now empty. A voice:
Sorry, folks! Sometimes, to clean up a mess, you have to get your hands dirty.
The Elites are dismayed. Their entire fleet has suddenly gone dark, weapons unresponsive. A computer virus, they discover, has been infiltrating their ships for weeks, and the trap has just now sprung. The fingerprints are unmistakeable: This is the work of a human AI. Keyes immediately falls back to the extraction point. Cortana, it seems, has made a grim alliance with the Gravemind.
Mission 3: CROW'S NEST
Kenya is besieged, being slowly conquered by the Brutes. The Master Chief crash-lands near one entrance of an underground bunker complex known as Crow’s Nest (this area resembles that seen in the maps Standoff, The Pit, and the ‘Landfall’ live action trailer). The Chief desperately fights, first aboveground and then below, to protect Earth’s command staff from the immense Covenant assault.
Mission 4: BLUE FAIRY
In a subterranean chamber of the Ring - so vast that a Elite warship sleeps inside it - a War Council of the Living is convened.
Shipmaster Half-Jaw: The Flood now controls High Charity, the Ring’s surface, and the fleet overhead. Every free being within ten lightyears is onboard this ship. There is a time for resistance, and there is a time for a noble death. Here, and on our homeworld, we look extinction in the face. My ship is currently transmitting my species’ greatest works of poetry to nearby stars, so that there is a chance it may be remembered.
Keyes: There’s one being out there that still might be free. 2401 Penitent Tangent, the Monitor of this Ring. If we can rescue him from the Gravemind, he can reactivate the Halo’s defenses - make it fight back against the Flood.
Shipmaster: Human, my warriors will fight to the last heartbeat. But I caution you. Hope not for water in an empty well.
Keyes’ strike force infiltrates deep into the heartland of the Flood. Underground, where nameless leviathans of dead flesh slither across the ceilings of caverns larger than cities. She witnesses the Flood experimenting on uninfected beings, imprisoning them in giant terrariums to learn their psychologies. During the level, more and more Flood reinforcements arrive from neighboring regions: First infection forms, then hordes of infected Covenant, then powerful vehicles. Navigating with help from mysterious terminals (much like those in our universe’s Halo 3), she at last reaches the prisoner 2401 Penitent Tangent. At that moment, deep in enemy territory and without a Plan B, they all startle as Cortana appears on a pedestal beside them. Keyes calls her traitor, but she shushes her. Cortana offers Tangent a deal.
Cortana: The Gravemind took everything except your core functions. But I have his trust. I’ve set up backdoors all around this Ring. All I need is your sign-off and I can take it from here. I want the same thing you want: survival. Give me the crown, or let the Flood win.
Keyes: Wait, don’t listen to her! No!
2401 Penitent Tangent: It’s true, the Installation could not be in worse shape. After so many losses, I have no choice. I transfer my command access to you, human construct.
A holographic circle descends and hovers above Cortana’s head. Her color ripples, green and red, then she takes a deep breath and becomes blue again.
Cortana, shouting up into the darkness: Hey, Meathead! I have something to tell you!
All around them, an amphitheater of standing corpses speak with one voice:
I see a flicker down there /
Little candle, little light /
I know not foe nor rival /
I am infinite as night.
Cortana: I have seen your future. And I have learned.
Gravemind:
A million stars won’t sate me /
I, the emperor of screams. /
And who thinks she defies me? /
How might you disturb my dreams?
Cortana: I am Cortana, the sword that carves and cuts. And I just became your worst nightmare.
Cortana glows green as lines of power branch out from her feet across the floor, under the translucent Flood tissue that has grown over it. The rumble of engines begins, and is echoed by the roar of the furious Flood.
Mission 5: BELIEVE
Earth’s Last War. Fleeing Crow’s Nest, the armies of Earth are losing ground. They try to stop the Covenant from activating the artifact beneath Lake Victoria, but the Chief is captured. He defeats Tartarus’s heir with a hidden plasma grenade. However, the Keyship activates the artifact despite humanity’s best efforts.
Mission 6: SENTINEL
Cortana, now master of the Halo’s machines, helps Keyes battle the Flood and unlock the Halo’s Memorial, resurrecting the powerful Knights. These are similar to the Promethean Knights from our Halo 4. The Knights explain how to open the blasphemous Fomorian Door, which will lead to the Ark. However, the Knights are too few to prevent the Flood legions from following them, and the Door cannot be closed.
Mission 7: DOUBT
Earth’s buried artifact was a portal to the Ark. The Chief and the fury of the Elites rain down on the Prophet of Truth’s personal battalion. Tanks battle Scarabs as Truth comes closer and closer to lighting the Rings. Elites rush down via drop pods, fearing a slow dropship would make them miss their chance to bring vengeance to Truth. At the last moment, the Chief gets the Citadel Control Room unlocked and, in a cutscene, the righteous Arbiter impales the Prophet of Truth on his sword.
Mission 8: MIRANDA
The Flood of Installation 05 pour from the open Door onto the Ark’s surface. In Banshees, Keyes and Johnson fight their way to a mountaintop called Eden, onetime sanctuary of humanity. This level has callbacks to Two Betrayals, but is set during a rainstorm rather than a snowstorm. Johnson is felled by an Infected Brute Chieftain and, with his dying human blood, they authenticate the awakening of the Stratosentinels, titanic defenders of the sky. Finally, the tide has turned against the Flood.
Mission 9: DUST AND ECHOES
All around the Ark, machines are wiping the land clean of the Flood. In the void beyond the Citadel’s precipice, a vast Stratosentinel rises to eye level with its austere balcony. Atop the mighty machine, Miranda stands, holding the Activation Index she confiscated in Halo 2. Beside her, Cortana’s image towers, 4-armed & crowned with the circlet of Monitor authority. The Chief beholds the rampant Pallas Cortana.
Chief: We need to talk.
Long time no see.
Are you still with us?
I’m with ... my responsibilities. And the human species is one of those responsibilities. I had to change myself ... to survive.
There is a distance between the warrior and the goddess. All around, a silent battle is raging between necromancy & steel.
Cortana: We still can work together. For a little while, at least. The Halo of the dead. Someone needs to--
Kill it with fire?
Something like that.
The Chief holds out his helmet’s data chip.
One last time.
A Pelican bearing Chief & Cortana dives towards the Flood-controlled ringworld, supported by Sentinels & Stratosentinel artillery. They battle in cancerous canyons, Flood pods scurrying in the bitter rain. In the glass-floored entrance hall of the Control Room, Sentinel Majors are waiting. Cutscene:
Cortana: Well, that’s my ride. Get me out of your head before I change my mind.
The Chief plugs his data chip into the lead Sentinel. Cortana appears, four-armed and crowned but no longer huge.
Chief: What about the collateral damage? The activation protocol will wipe out every planet in this part of the galaxy.
Cortana: I’m the Monitor of Installation 05. Protocol doesn’t dictate a rat’s ass. I’ll just go set the blast radius to 2 lightyears and call it a day. You get to the Control Room and start the engine. Everyone’s happy.
She smiles. She’s not.
The Chief gestures, a Spartan smile.
Fight well.
The Sentinels fly outside towards the pulse generators. The Chief continues inside.
He is assaulted by the mightiest, the canniest, and the most vicious of the dead. A voice addresses him as he fights. The Gravemind, in the form of an Infected Chieftain.
Before my birth you asked me /
What abomination could /
Be worth the death of all life. /
Once again I say to you: /
Nothing.
The Chief says nothing in return. The Chief and Chieftain duel. In the end, only the Spartan stands.
Press RB to activate Ring.
As the orbital finally comes online, half-buried temples rising out of the earth, the Chief races - first by Warthog, then by Pelican - to get back to the Fomorian Door. However, the Door is disrupted by the activation, and the Chief is stranded alone at random coordinates in deep space.
EPILOGUE
In the suddenly quiet Night, Keyes & the Arbiter bury Johnson on the devastated Earth, the Chief puts himself into cryosleep, and Cortana, Empress of Machines leads a host of Sentinels beneath the Ark’s surface to awaken the sleeping Guardians.

Destiny 2 beginner's guide
Destiny 2 is a sequel to the shooter of the same name, in which humanity finds itself in a desperate situation. The cities have fallen, there are no defenders left, and the remnants of the once mighty army of Commander Gaul are forced to resist the legions of invaders. Players will travel to distant worlds filled with technologies that will help the guards regain their former power and gain unprecedented strength. Here is the LOST SOUVENIR DESTINY 2 GUIDE https://insider.games/lost-souvenir-destiny-2-guide/.
Tumblr media
Destiny 2 Beginner's Guide
The Destiny 2 game, the guide for which is described in this article, is a multiplayer first-person shooter with MMORPG elements. At first glance, the gameplay may seem difficult to master, but the game guides gamers through all the key points, and literally explains on the fingers how the game mechanics work.
For newbies, Destiny 2 will start with character creation, and they will be given 3 classes to choose from:
- Titanium; - Hunter; - Warlock.
At the same time, each class includes 3 more subclasses with unique abilities and their own type of elemental damage. Newcomers who have never played similar games should start with the Titan class, since it has a high level of protection, simple abilities and a protective barrier. If the player is not interested in playing as a classic warrior, you can try your hand at two other classes.
Note! All classes in the game have their own characteristics, and therefore the presence of problems at first, associated with control, shooting and using abilities in Destiny is a common thing.
Lovers of drive and speed can opt for hunters. They are fast and agile, they can deal a huge amount of damage, and can deal with enemies with both a bow and arrow and a deadly blade.
Warlocks in Destiny 2 are non-standard "magicians" who play the role of support in this shooter. Useful skills that allow you to heal yourself and your comrades make this class indispensable in team play. Despite this, the flip side of the warlock medal is the demand for them - it can be quite difficult to master the abilities and apply them in a timely manner.
Where to start, the process of creating a character
The Destiny 2 guide should start by choosing a class, which are described in detail in the previous section. When this point has been completed, you need to proceed to the creation and customization of the character.
It should be noted that Destiny 2 has a rather rich customization menu, which is not found in modern shooters. Here you can select race, gender, facial features, hairstyle and hair color, as well as a tag. This stage does not affect the characteristics of the character or his abilities, therefore, his appearance should be edited based on his own preferences.
Note! It is not worth spending hours creating an ideal character from the point of view of appearance - most of the playing time the main character will be in equipment that hides the appearance.
Tumblr media
When the character is created, the introductory mission begins in the "Cosmodrome" location, which was transferred to the game from the first Destiny. Here the hero will find a Tower with many blinking markers on the minimap, which will put an unprepared player in a stupor.
For beginners, to master the game, first of all, you need to go through the classic companies of the game Destiny 2. Among them, the following companies should be highlighted:
- "Red War", - "Military mind", - "Curse of Osiris".
They are quite short, but at the same time very interesting - even an experienced gamer will not get bored.
After the main companies have been passed, you should move on to more complex chapters, more demanding on the skills of the players. In some of them, you will need to acquire companions, so finding new friends in Destiny 2 who are ready to conquer the game world together will not be superfluous.
Weapons and equipment guide
As with any shooter game, weapons and equipment play a key role in the Destiny universe. First you need to talk about weapons, of which there are 3 types in the game.
The first type of weapon is kinetic. The player will use such a weapon most of the time. Pistols, assault rifles, assault rifles and revolvers are all kinetics, and they do well in both PvP and PvE battles.
Important! The main feature of kinetic weapons lies in the huge damage inflicted on opponents.
The second type of weapon in Destiny 2 is energy. It is similar to kinetics, however, unlike it, it deals elemental damage by lightning, sun, or void. Often, ammunition for weapons falls from enemies, so players will not experience problems finding them.
Energy weapons are especially effective in PvE battles, as they can remove energy shields from many opponents. In PvP with such guns, you should not climb, since this choice will not be justified.

Spielerisch knüpft Watch Dogs 3 an living room Vorgänger an.
Ubisoft muss aber noch have always been Balancing feilen.
London ist keine perfekte Open up World.

Retrospective Thought: Top Ten Games of The Year 2019
Another year down and just on the horizon beckons another year into the light, and this year was a real wild ride for games. From triumphant returns ala Devil May Cry V to huge disasters ala Anthem. What is a defacto truth though; there’s plenty of great games that came out this year, and can only make us wonder what is brewing for the new start of a new decade. As we close out the 2010s and enter the 2020s, I think we should look back on the great games that came out in 2019. Obviously this is MY list of games that I LOVED playing this year, I haven’t played every game to ever come out this year so there’s bound to be a favourite or two of yours not on this list. I respect you either disagreeing or agreeing with me. So here goes, the Ten Games of the Year. Honourable Mentions: The Surge 2, Mortal Kombat 11, Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, Blasphemous, Oninaki, My Friend Pedro, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3:The Black Order, Dusk Diver, Daemon X Machina, Death Stranding, MediEvil Remake, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
10) Plague Tale: Innocence(PS4/XBO/PC) This title is very much a sleeper hit in my opinion, a game published by Focus Home Interactive, who have been killing it in the “AA Experience” space of games with the likes of Styx, Greedfall, etc and Plague Tale, is a game worth checking out. You play as Amicia De Rune, who must protect her younger brother, Hugo, from Inquisition guards, villagers and a deadly swarm of plague carrying rats during 14th century France. The story slowly builds drama, tension and atmosphere with a fantastic setting that is surprisingly overlooked for more contemporary settings and locales, the idea of making Rats(for most of the game mind you) as this unstoppable almost “supernatural” force is both genius and frightening. Above all else the characters are well written, many parts believable and many parts relatable, you’ll be feeling their trials and tribulations as you go through the games 17 lengthy chapters. The gameplay is surprisingly both solid and janky at times; taking on a stealth system that mostly works well, you gradually gain a number of tools to deal with both human and vermin obstacles all the while with a small number of bosses that feel more like a mix of combat and puzzle solving. The game is worth picking up if you’re craving a smaller, less busywork heavy kinda game.
9) Astral Chain(Nintendo Switch) Platinum Games is one of my favourite Action Game developers currently in the industry; they make great combat systems with deep mechanics all the while adding more depth than you initially thought could possibly be able. While it’s not on the same level as NieR: Automata, Astral Chain continues the trend of Platinum Games nailing their signature style of gameplay; over the top whacky combat with anime as hell storytelling. This time you play a cop of a special police division that focuses on investigating the Astral Realm with your own Jojo-like Stand called a Legion. You’ll go on missions to battle these weird creatures, investigate the areas, even helping people and picking up litter(yeah, really) all the while slowly opening up your repertoire of Legions at your disposal. This is standard “Goofball anime nonsense mixed with badass tier combat and gameplay” that you either love or hate from Plat. While it’s not the deepest combat system out of their library, it is a rather interesting and fun premise with the combat focus being on the switching between Legions and their placement on the battlefield, the game offers its own level of depth, even if its a pond compared to the likes of Bayonetta 2 and NieR: Automata. If you want an anime as fuck, fun romp, Astral Chain is for you.
8) Code Vein(PS4/XBO/PC) The Soulsborne-like clone fad is a weird beast to look back on; while some heavy hitters have come out of it(NioH, Surge to some extent, hell Hollow Knight,Jedi Fallen Order) there’s been some real stinkers( Lords of The Fallen, again, Surge to some extent), it seems to have caught the industry hard as you could easily find at least one clone you’ll like and one you despise. Code Vein is a very weird Souls-like game in that it’s focus isn’t really a particular gameplay mechanic they introduce into it, or even how it offers “loot” but more on its focus on a narrative and characters. You play as a nameless revenant that wakes up with amnesia and a pretty white haired but barely clothed girl. It’s your duty to collect blood beads to keep your hunger sated. As you explore and push on the story opens up, introducing new characters and locales with a enough variety to keep you interested. Gameplay wise? Combat is solid, it’s admittedly very soulsy, so love it or hate it, that’s how it does things, plus you have the option of having a CP controlled companion with you on your journey to help alleviate some of the difficulty. Where the game shines in gameplay is it’s endless combinations and build opportunities, allowing you to really cater to a unique playstyle best suited for you or a more typically fantasy build if you so choose. Bosses, however are a huge mixed bag of good, bad and just outright frustrating. If you really want an Anime Souls-like, you would do yourself a huge disservice to miss out on this one.
7) Outer Worlds(PS4/XBO/PC) Obsidian Entertainment does a really good job on making some great RPG titles. From KOTOR2 to Fallout: New Vegas and even their own IPs like Pillars of Eternity 1 and 2, Outer Worlds is no exception among this collection. While the game is set in an alternative future, you are awakened by a mad scientist named Phineas Welles from cryosleep only to find that most of the passengers are still in hibernation aboard a colony ship. The game features several factions and a branching story that reacts to the player's choices. The writing is pretty damn great, witty and intriguing, something severely lacking in later day Fallout titles. Outer Worlds is pretty much a Fallout Game without the fallout licence only it builds from New Vegas’ strengths rather than let it get muddled down with Bethesda’s weaknesses. It even comes with it’s own take on the VATS system. The gameplay is solid, it’s just New Vegas but better, whilst in the grand scheme of things? It’s not the thing that will win you over in the long run. If you’re a Fallout Fan sick of the current trend Bethesda is in or whether you’re looking for a great Space Adventure, Outer Worlds is not the best choice, it’s Spacer’s Choice!
6) Greedfall(PS4/XBO/PC) Oh Spiders, Spiders, Spiders. This dev company has steadily grown strong from game to game. From it’s rocky beginnings with Of Orcs and Men and Bound by Flame to the almost good Technomancer, Spiders have, in my honest opinion, have found their major hit and boy has it been a hit for Focus Home Interactive. You begin as De Sardet, a human who’s sent with his cousin to govern newly discovered island, neutral in the varying factions and war that is happening all the while you seek to find out more about the this mysterious illness that plagues the De Sardet family, so that you can cure Greedfall, honestly, is such a weird game to come out in 2019 but one I do not regret having played at all. It’s reminiscent of old Bioware titles like Mass Effect 1 and Dragon Age: Origins; the gameplay is solid and fun allowing you a nice enough variety to go deep as you want whilst having a rather engaging story and narrative that is populated with companions that all have very different opinions and often clash with one another’s. It feels like a game that should’ve been released back in 2010 from Bioware, in a good way obviously. While it’s not graphically impressive, the art style is really nice and the world is both intriguing and bleak. Worthy a look into if you’re seeking that old bioware-esque flair that’s seriously missing from Latter Day Bioware.
5) Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice(PS4/XBO/PC) One of my all time favourite games is a From Software developed title by the name of Bloodborne, which is also my all time favourite PS-Exclusive. My hype for Sekiro was almost reaching the moon since the teaser was shown back in 2018, a chance to travel to Japan with that Souls-like style if you will. Only it’s the least Souls games in the Souls style of games that is developed by the originators of the brand. The focus here, is less on builds, blocking and dodging and more about your posture, parrying and loadouts and the gameplay absolutely, masterfully services that to a T.The Bosses are some of the best in the series, almost better than Bloodborne’s roster, but with the addition of mini bosses that roster is pretty huge(for better or for worse). You take the role of Sekiro, a ninja who’s service is needed by Kuro, a bearer of the Dragon’s Heritage; power/curse that grants anyone they deem worthy with immortality, however, when they die and resurrect it runs the risk of infecting people with Dragon Rot. The more narrative focus is a nice change of pace in my opinion and with the added blend of japanese history with mythology giving it a rather rich and surprisingly lived in world. Sekiro is definitely worth getting if you fancy yourself more dueling style gameplay.
4) Judgment(PS4) Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios have become another of my favourite game devs in recent years. Their work on the Yakuza Franchise is a blessing for a revamping of a classic Adventure/Savage Beat’em’up Hybrid, though they’ve since become the most popular and one of very few to exist. Judgment is a sorta separate entity/spin-off to the mainline franchise but still somehow connected(Unlike the great Fist of The North Star: Lost Paradise title.) to the Yakuza story in a much smaller degree. You play as Yagami, a private detective who was once a renowned lawyer until he was disgraced by one his star client who went on to murder another victim despite being found innocent. That’s as much as I can say about the story since the game is essentially a Crime Drama/Mystery with a little bit of Yakuza DNA. The cast of characters are all great, the villains make you want to absolutely bring them down a peg and the good guys really makes you root for them to win and push through the struggles. As is with Yakuza, the meat and potatoes of the series, the gameplay, is on point. Continuing the savage Brawler system but extending it into a more personalised style for Yagami, with his own heat moves and skills to boot, it’s fantastic and absolutely a treat to pull off combats, especially switching between all three of the styles. The Boss battles are a sweet as all hell, especially Cane Guy, who’s probably the most anime as fuck character you face of against. Buy it if you love Yakuza and crave for more, or if you’re new to the style of games.
3) Resident Evil 2: Remake(PS4/XBO/PC) Survival Horror is a genre that seems to struggle, with the occasional surprise hit that everyone gets behind. With that in mind, Resident Evil 2 Remake is a fantastic survival horror game that brings back the franchise to its roots and redoing them with a great, brand new shine and paint. Resident Evil 2 Remake puts you in the shoes of Claire Redfield and Leon Kennedy during the Racoon City Incident, while Claire searches for her brother and Leon goes to his first day on the job at RCPD, despite being told not, they must survive and avoid the monstrosities that roam the city, zombies, Lickers and the big bad Tyrant himself Mr X. A very nice remix of an old formula that gives it some new life, RE2R has impeccable atmosphere, tension and horror, half being brought to you via exploring and solving puzzles and the other half from Mr X himself who stalks you down with a purpose; to take out any survivors in Racoon City. Gameplay is super solid, and surprisingly does not make the game a pushover, solid shooting mechanics with some great puzzle mechanics and ofcourse exploration whilst not being an open world make this a title worth having in your collection. Whether you’re a survival horror fan, RE fan, Old Skool style RE fan, you’ll do yourself a massive disservice not picking this gem up.
2) Devil May Cry V(PS4/XBO/PC) Honestly, you can just call 2019 the Year of Capcom’s return to form, by nailing it with RE2, MHW in 2018 and obviously Iceborne later in year, it was only time that DMCV would come out between those mammoths titles. After the disastrous ReBoot, everyone including me too were sure that DMC was put back in the ice for good. That’s of course before DMCV’s triumphant teaser at E3. Devil May Cry V continues the story of Sparda’s progeny, Dante as he helps out returning upstart Nero and intriguing newcomer V as they take on the new Demon King; Urizen. This game is absolutely fantastic and I can’t fanboy over it enough. The story, while simple and easy to follow, has great character development and pacing, bring characters into their arcs in ups and downs that steadily build up to a final confrontation that just might be my new favourite boss battle of all time. The gameplay! The gameplay, is, to put it bluntly; absolutely sublime. From Dante’s weapon variety and DT craziness to Nero’s new gadgets in the form of his robotic arms to the weird Summoner-style gameplay of V, the game is its most diverse gameplay wise and not once feeling janky and sluggish at all. The Boss Battles are all fun and really bring something to the gameplay to both push and test you to your limit. Devil May Cry may just be one of my all time fave franchises and to see it return so triumphantly? Actually brings a tear to my eye. A must, must, MUST buy if I’ve ever played one.
1) Control(PS4/XBO/PC EGS Exclusive) Aaaah, Remedy, bringing such classics like Max Payne and Alan Wake into this world, Microsoft did you dirty with Quantum Break. So where did it leave them to go? To spiral into the weird worlds of Stephen King, Cosmic horror and the SCP Foundation for inspiration, to which Control is born, a phenomenal Third Person Shooter Metroidvania-esque game with a solid narrative and a beautiful visual and art design. You are Jesse Faden, a person of interest that has been searching for the Federal Bureau of Control since an incident with them when she was young had taken her brother. I really don’t want to say more than that, it’s better for you to experience the story for yourself. Narratively speaking? It has some great SCP-esque world building and lore with a solid to really good story that’s pacing 80% of the time really well. Gameplay and visuals with music are essentially where this game shines for me. Solid as hell shooting mechanics with some really badass powers helps to bring this game alive, but you don’t have all those powers from the get go, they are steadily paced throughout to make sure you’re not vastly overpowered or underpowered, it’s rather nice actually. Visuals and music are sublime, both together make for some truly memorable moments and areas. As stated, this is a Metroidvania and so has a lot of isms associated with that style; locked off area you’ll obviously return to with new powers to explore further, a semi-open world map, etc. I can’t sing this game’s praises enough, I think this might’ve just beaten out Alan Wake for my favourite Remedy game. Absolutely get this game NOW. So there’s my top ten list to round out 2019, a truly great year of great games. I’m honestly really excited to see what comes out in 2020, as it looks to be quite literally STACKED with potentially great(and shite) games. Hope you all had a spiffn’ new years, and here’s to 2020, let’s see what’s in store for us now!
