Transformers Bayverse Autobots x Human reader (Crush and Confession Headcanons Part 2)

"How would they react to themselves crushing on a human? And how would they confess?"

Characters: Bayverse Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Hound, Hot rod, Crosshairs.

A/N: I made a part 2 since I promised it💞, I'm so sorry that this took so long for me to do, my motivation was aft and I had a lot of schoolwork to do😭🤧.

And an anonymous person said that they would love to see more Bee x Reader content. I don't find their ideal bad, so I went along with it, and to the Anon who says that they want more Bee Content. Hope this won't disappoint I didn't know what continuity you wanted, so I went with Bayverse when Bumblebee didn't get back his voice yet, hope you'll understand, and as I said in my other Bay Autobots x Human Reader post, they might seem OOC because I haven't watched the movies for a long time. GIFs do not belong to me credits go to the original creators. (Some of them were found on Google)

This is the first part of this post if you are interested read:

Warnings: I suppose Potential Movie Spoilers from 1-5, Cursing, Mention of Violence/Fighting but nothing too detailed or Gorey, Death, and, Getting in Trouble, Some parts for others may look short-, Teasing/Flirting, Jealousy, Kissing, Miscommunication or Awkward Situations (On Hot Rod's Part), Injuries, Crack, Fluff, and, Angst.

Bumblebee;

•When the young scout finds himself gaining a crush on you, he's in denial, but at the same time, he feels willing to ask you out.

•But he'll mostly lean on the part where he refuses to acknowledge his feelings for you.

•The reason why is that, being betrayed and hunted down by humans, and having other disturbing events he doesn't want to remember, gave him slight trust issues.

•You might take might advantage of his status, You won't feel the same way, You might not want to hang out with him anymore, You might hurt him or worse, betray him and leave him to have experimented on by humans who hunt them down...

•But at the same time, Bumblebee feels willing to tell you, his crush on you. He wants to ask Optimus for advice but he knows that he's strict and will forbid it.

•And Primus, Bee doesn't want to receive Prime's disappointed look at him, it would feel horrible. He respected Optimus for years and he has done the same thing.

•However, keeping his feelings to himself won't help. You need to know how he feels, besides if Bee hides his crush well, it won't be a good thing to experience if he ever decides to pretend that he doesn't like you.

•Since he doesn't have his voice with him, Bumblebee would use sweet lovesongs to tell you how he feels. Are you surprised by this? Well, not really, you've seen how a bit obvious his intentions are of courting you.

•Eitherways you're happy with him, and you accept his confession. Making the young bot very happy. If he was in his Mass Displacement or Holoform, he'd carry you and do a little spin out of joy.

•While still being careful to not hurt you. Spending time together is just having fun. For example, if a favorite song of both of yours plays, you both dance cheerfully. And if he's using Holoform or Mass Displacement he'd hold you, he'd say how much he loves you and swears to protect you with all his life. <3

Sideswipe;

•To be honest, he's a flirt or a tease, he's a bit of a player just for fun, but with no intentions to hurt someone However, when he gains feelings for someone and their genuine? Sideswipe gets flustered.

•He just gives me those vibes where the cocky character says they'd make their love interest fall for them first, but instead they're the ones who fall for their love interest first-

•Sideswipe still haves his cocky attitude with him, but really when he's with you, it slightly becomes clear how he likes you-

•This mech had so many attempts to ask you out, but it just ends up with him being too shy and flustered to tell you. One time, he got very angry with himself that he tried to demolish the wall-🤦‍♀️

•And you know that it didn't end well for him...Sideswipe dented his pede pretty badly which caused him to have an injury where he couldn't walk properly. He also came up with some scrappy excuse to Ratchet for his actions, but the medic just sighed, already knowing what was going on.

•But, let's just say after some time he finally has the courage to ask you out. While he admits his feelings for you, the bot had a bit of Energon-blush on his faceplates, and he slightly stutters his words.

•Are you shocked? Just like Bumblebee, you're not very surprised. After seeing his attempts to try to tell you his feelings, it looked quite clear of Sideswipe's intentions.

•When you accept his confession, he's more than surprised, he wasn't expecting you to look back, but is very glad that you didn't reject him! Sideswipe would feel embarrassed if you did decline his offer.

•On how you spend time together, is sometimes getting into silly shenanigans. You guys would get into trouble together, something like badly cropped photos of Lennox around the base, and it's almost everywhere-

•Of course, you both are going to be scolded for pranking around the area, you two are in trouble together. But hey, it's better to be with someone you love when you do silly things. <3 (Hopefully Lennox doesn't get too upset from seeing unflattering pictures of him :/)

Hound:

•Um, now this is unexpected to find out...Hound won't be all shy and flustered or be in so much denial of his emotions for you. He'd just be a bit taken back of himself when he finds out about his crush on you.

•He'd still be the same mech around you though, you don't see him being nervous or flustered when he talks to you. But, he does feel a warm feeling in his spark when you laugh at his jokes.

•Hound is not one for adoring or complimenting one's looks, but seeing you smile or being happy makes him feel secure that you're safe from harm and danger. Also, he's always the first one to save you from getting hurt when he fights his enemies.

•One day, Izabella noticed how protective he is over you. So when she gets the chance to talk to him, she asks Hound.

•"Hey Hound!" She calls out to him, the Green mech then looks at the young girl and says "Oh hey kid, anything ya need?" Hound talks "No not really, but I do have a question!" Izabella answers "Then, go ahead I guess." "Alright, so do you have a crush on (Name)?"

•When Izabella asks him that question, his optics slightly widen. He'd look away for a while then he'd grumble in reply, "Well, maybe." Izabella just then happily encourages him to tell his feelings for you, after hearing Hound's statement.

•As time passes, Hound tells you his confession. He admits he's not the best sparkmate out there for you but is willing to be with you. Are you taken back by this? Hell yeah, you are-

•He was able to keep his composure with you, and now he tells you that he wants to ask you out. You're more than stunned- And when you accept his offer, he'd just let out a small chuckle of relief and would just gently carry you on his servo to hold you, with your permission.

•I'd say how you two spend time together is maybe training to defend yourself or teaching you how to use some weapons or how to create them. On the other hand, you'd just talk to each other.

•While he'd just pulling a few jokes randomly- But you're still happy to chat together, being in company together already makes you both grateful. <3

Hot Rod;

•Oh, now he is a flustered mess. As much as he tries to be a suave smooth-talking gentlemech, he miserably fails in doing so.

•When he realizes that he gained romantic feelings for you, his playful personality somehow falters. In summary, he becomes such a dork.

•I know that he makes up good pick-up lines to try and woo you, but they end up seeming awkward and strange, and his words would be fumbled in the end.

•Poor Hot Rod is not getting help from anyone. Cogman has a good day, he will just watch things and how they'll play out, he sees this as prime entertainment for himself. Sir Burton is no better, he also sees this as amusement at what's happening to Hot Rod, he'd even hold back and hide his giggles when he sees him try to impress you, but ends up failing.

•Hot Rod starts to act a little out of character, he seems almost shy to even talk to you. And when you ask a simple "Are you ok?" Or "Is everything alright?"

•Ha, he's a bit flustered about how you're concerned for him, he'll even answer nervously, which is only going to make things more complicated for the both of you.

•Once he gets the opportunity to tell you his feelings, he'll try to be all relaxed and be a gentlemech. But when he confesses, his words end up being stuttered.

•You weren't very stunned to find that out, seeing him act all, nervous and how he tries to get with you, made things clear.

•He feels relieved after you accept his confession, he was all pent-up and stressed with his feelings, so it was hard for him to tell you, but thank Primus it's already done.

•You and Hot Rod would spend time together on fancy dates. When he uses his holoform or Mass Displacement, he'll act like a gentleman. He'd be the type to be the one who'd open the door and treat you like a princess, just for you. Or just have a peaceful picnic date, he'd even get you your favorite flowers as a gift. <3

Crosshairs;

•Oh my goodness, we have another tsundere- He's in great denial. He'd hide his feelings with his normal cocky act especially when he's with you.

•He pretends to not care about you. But Primus he really does. Crosshairs would even be jealous if you're being a bit too close with another mech beside him. Yep, he's this jealous.

•Since he pretends to not care, he'd just scoff and would be "Whatever." but deep inside he feels jealousy. Especially if you're with Bumblebee or Drift.

•Crosshairs would be the type to show off his skills towards you to get your attention on him while being a flirt.

•He's not a fan of humans, and won't be the best guardian for a human if he was assigned to protect one. However, when it comes to you, he's so protective. It even looks like he has special treatment only for you- Which kinda causes Cade to be annoyed since we saw how he acts on TF4-.

•But again, since he's not accepting the fact that he loves you. The other Autobots would have to be the ones to confess their feelings for you. Another way how he'll confess his crush on you himself is when you face a situation where you almost die.

•And at that moment he'd tell you right there how he likes no, loves you. He then promises to be stronger to protect you. Despite his teasing nature, he can be sweet.

•You're very astounded by his confession and how at times he can be, thoughtful. But you feel contented with his confession and you accept. It caused Crosshairs to be shocked but he'd hide it by with flirting you and being a teasing mech. But really, he feels good that you like him as well.

•When you both have free time together, Crosshairs would drive you around while he lets you play your favorite music. Or you two would annoy Drift- It's a thing you've both done since you were friends.

•He doesn't admit but, he loves it when you guys cuddle. Though, he'd be so clingy and would give you lots of kisses. And no he does not give a single scrap if he has to do something, this mech not leaving you. What an afthole, but he's yours. <3

i...i wanna say something so honest... i really don't care about a league of their own and most of you don't seem to either. it's a huge hassle organising the episodes because — not to say this for the third time in two sentences — but most people don't care much about it and haven't made the effort to keep it archived. we haven't seen a source for a complete series 6 in, like, 8 years. i'm not going to be making an effort to log that title for the time being. sorry if that's an inconvenience, but feel free to use the resources linked in my faq for your own research!

i will continue uploading as-hd-as-possible versions of cats does countdown to my youtube channel and will eventually get them all on drive, but that's a slow process; i don't spend much time on youtube because half the commenters are tossers and deleting their negativity to keep it a fun space doesn't always leave me in a good mood 😡😡😡

It's Not Okay

Summary: Being bullied at school is never fun - especially when parents try to blow it off as crushes.

Pairings: Mama!Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Mommy!Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader, Kara Danvers x Lena Luthor (unmarried partners), Auntie!Uncle!Superfriends x Child!Reader

Genre: Fluff, Hurt/Comfort

Warnings: nightmares, name-calling (ugly), broken glasses. nothing too serious for you all :)

A/N: I've been feeling a bit little today but I haven't actually dropped, so I kind of fell into a younger mindset for the reader. To the anon that requested a storyline similar to a teenager reader, I can write that one too if you'd like? Just wasn't feeling it today, sorry :)

Many people at school thought you were weird. The fact that you wore these ‘dorky’ glasses and ‘stupid’ clothes was slowly eating away at you. Nobody knew your moms were Supergirl and Lena Luthor, two of the biggest names in pop culture - Lena had kept her publicity quiet whilst Kara hadn’t revealed her identity to the world.

You spotted Kara as you walked out of school, another horrid day of year two eating away at your young and boisterous personality.

“Hi Mama!” You yelled excitedly, running up to her and tackling her in a hug.

“Hello, my darling inah (daughter).” She kissed your forehead before buckling you into your seat, making your jaw drop as a gasp came out.

“Mommy!”

“Hiya, sweetheart.” Lena grinned from the front passenger seat, making goofy faces at you in her mirror as she touched up her mascara.

“Are you ready to go home, baby?” Kara asked after buckling herself into her seatbelt.

“Mhms! Is cousie Esme at home?” You replied.

“She sure is!”

“And Auntie Alex? Auntie Kelly?!”

“Yep and yep!” Lena answered this time, the two of them surprised at your excitement.

“How was your day at school, honey?”

“It was so fun, Mommy! We had somebody come today and I got to pet a lizard! He had a blue tongue too!” You giggled at the memory, looking out of the window.

“That sounds amazing, Y/N/N.” Lena smiled warmly at you, tickling your leg.

As you all made your way back to Lena’s penthouse loft, you immediately ran up the stairs. You threw your bag down, not caring about the stuff inside, and went back downstairs to see everybody.

You tackled Alex and Kelly in a hug, the two of them almost losing the air in their lungs whilst Esme quickly copied Kara so you wouldn’t hurt her. “Hey, little cousie.”

“Hi hi!” You grinned, seeing an assortment of crayons on the table in front of you. “Can I draw you something?” You whispered in Esme’s ear, to which she nodded.

You immediately sat down and began to draw your masterpiece, making sure the sun was in the top corner and the sky was blue. Everybody was on the page in their correct spots, your Mommy and Mama holding either of your hands whilst everybody else stood beside them.

“Y/N, dinner is ready!” Kara called out to you from the kitchen, your head popping up to see everybody making their way over.

You scrambled to get onto your chair at the table, waiting patiently for everyone to sit before you pulled out your drawing. “Look! Do you all like it?”

Gasps and applause came from them all, with the drawing being passed around as dinner was served. You giggled at Kara’s heat vision on the chicken, wanting to use yours but you weren’t quite in control yet.

When Kara got the drawing, she smiled at herself in her Supergirl outfit before putting it on the fridge along with some of your other creations. You enjoyed the dinner consisting of the carbonara pasta for you, whilst others ate from the other dishes on the table until Alex decided on watching a movie.

You snuggled up between Kara and Lena, to which Nia guided a blanket on top of your trio which made you beam at her. “Thanks, Auntie Nia!”

“You’re very welcome, Y/N/N.” She beamed back, kissing your forehead gently before she cuddled up to Brainy.

As the movie played on, you grew bored as you didn’t understand some of the older references, so you decided to draw again. As your mind wandered to what school would be like tomorrow, your drawing began to reflect that. The crayons you used were usually bright, but now they were full of shadows and darkness.

Eventually you grew tired and climbed back up to Lena, having no space to sit between Kara and the noirette, which left you with your toes hiding underneath Nia’s blanket. As you fell asleep, her mind fell into your dream and she watched the bullies teasing you for your glasses and clothes.

When she woke up, however, she didn’t want to disturb Kara and Lena’s special time together, so she kept it to herself and gently manipulated your dream into something more fun and exciting.

Kara was not expecting a call from your school as she sat in Lena’s office on her lunch break. She looked up at Lena and the two made their way to your school, seeing you sniffling and shaking in your seat.

“Honey baby, what happened?” Kara knelt in front of you, gently wiping away your tears.

You shook your head and your tears poured, making Kara very distressed as she picked you up easily, bouncing you and herself instead of flying like she used to when you were little. She turned to Lena, who had spoken with the receptionist, and gently put you back down in your chair.

“Y/N/N, lovey, we will be right back, okay?” She kissed your forehead, noticing your glasses were crooked before righting them.

She stepped into the principal’s office with Lena, her in a blue argyle style whilst Lena was in her dark maroon suit. They sat down in a set of chairs next to what they could only assume was the other child’s mother and father, the plaque at the end of the desk reading Principal Johnson.

“What happened?” Lena asked, a tinge of annoyance in her tone.

“Ms Luthor, Ms Danvers, this is Mr and Mrs. Kepler. There’s no easy way to say this, but… Y/N hit their son Will and broke his nose.” Mr. Johnson sighed.

Kara’s eyes widened behind her glasses. “What?!”

Lena’s hand fell onto Kara’s in assurance. “Can someone tell us what happened? Possibly what caused the fight?”

“Unfortunately, the teacher on duty wasn’t watching over their spout and only saw the end result.” He shrugged.

Lena immediately stood and opened the door, picking you up from your chair and bringing you inside. You’d never been inside this room before, this was the principal’s office. This was where the bad kids were sent - you weren’t a bad kid, were you?

“Y/N, honey, can you tell us what happened? The silly teacher wasn’t watching and Mama and I want to know.” Lena asked you gently, noticing how the unfamiliar surroundings and new people were scaring you.

“W-Well, I was playing in the sand pit a-and Will came to play. I di-didn’t want to play with him so I said no.”

You looked over at the scowling parents before Kara adjusted her seat so you didn’t see them, only your Mama and Mommy. “Keep going, darling. Take your time.” She cooed, brushing some tear-soaked hairs out of your face.

“N-n he didn’t like that. Mama, he took my glasses!” You took them off and showed her them - the middle part that rested on your nose was broken.

“Did he break your glasses, honey?” She asked carefully.

“Mhm! He stomped on them.” You sniffled. “I like my glasses. B-But he says he doesn’t like them, ever. And he doesn’t like my clothes either. He says I look ugly in them.”

You watched your Mama and Mommy’s faces fall with sadness, worry building in yours. “No! Didn’t mean to make you sad!”

“Honey, did you punch Will because he called you ugly and broke your glasses?” Kara asked, not even listening to your heartbeat.

You shook your head frantically. “No, Mama! I just pushed him out of the sand pit! He tripped on the side and fell on his face, promise!”

She nodded, carefully taking you into her arms before she readjusted her seat and looked at the other parents who held Will. “Well then I think this whole situation has been sorted. Just a simple misunderstanding.” Mr. Johnson smiled sheepishly.

“I don’t think so.” Lena stood, folding her arms.

You knew this wasn’t soft Mommy - this was Mommy the Boss, and Kara took you outside of the room.

“Will has been bullying Y/N for her glasses and her clothes. He needs to learn that bullying isn’t okay.” Lena stated.

“He’s in year two, Ms. Luthor. It’s nothing more than teasing - he might even like Y/N.” Mr. Kepler replied.

“I expect my child’s glasses to be paid for, Mr. Kepler. And summing up this bullying to something so weird as Will fancying her is wrong. It shouldn’t be okay for this to happen. If this continues, Mr. Johnson, I will pull Y/N out of this school.”

With that, Lena closed the principal’s door behind her, seeing you and Kara in the reception. She immediately smiled at you and hugged you when you made some grabby hands, your head burying into her neck.

“Mommy, can we go flying later?” You asked softly.

“Of course we can, baby. Let’s go home first so we can get our special clothes on.” She answered, which was your code word for the super suits.

You were quiet on the walk to the car, which surprised the two women before they realised you were asleep. “Maybe we can go flying tomorrow.” Kara teased, gently kissing your forehead as she buckled you into your car seat.

You opened your eyes to see everybody waiting for you at home, including Uncle Mon-El and Auntie Imra with Uncle Winn. You ran up to Imra who easily lifted and hugged you, giving you sporadic kisses on your face.

“How about we go and have some fun inside? Maybe we can test out your flying!” She giggled with you.

Whilst everyone else went inside, Nia stopped Kara and Lena. “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you about the bullying.”

They looked at each other before turning to her. “I dreamt about it last night when she was touching me. It was actually terrifying to watch her little mind dream that, let alone comprehend it. I know I’m not a mom, but I wouldn’t make her go back yet.”

“Can you show us the dream?” Kara pleaded, to which Nia took their hands and showed them.

It brought them to tears instantly.

“Oh, baby…” Lena whimpered, running inside to find you in your room.

“Mommy? Mama? What happened?” You asked quietly, watching them kneel in front of you before sweeping you off your feet into their arms.

“We are so sorry we didn’t see this earlier, inah.” Kara cooed, holding you tight but not too tight.

You felt those big emotions surface before tears began to run down your face, squirming further into Kara’s hold whilst Lena hugged your other side. “W-Want ev’ybody.” You muffled against Kara’s shirt.

“Yeah? Everybody?” She asked, to which you nodded.

“Hope?” Lena looked up at the ceiling.

“The members downstairs have been notified of Y/N’s request.” The AI replied.

Soon enough, they all piled in and looked down at your crying form. Nia was the first to start the group hug, with everyone piling on until you felt truly loved.

As they pulled apart, they all gave you an individual hug and some even said some encouraging words. But at the end of it, you turned to your Mama and Mommy and tackled them in a hug, making giggles spread through the room whilst you held them tightly.

“My Mamas.”

Random update

So a while back I posted an imagine, (Really it's just a concept I was am too scared to write about.), and I had mentioned possibly trying to write it. And now after like a little over a year, I actually want to try my hand at writing something with it.

Now I still have yet to actually watch HOTD, for reasons some find silly. (I'm literally trying to wait until the show is either done, or nearly done, so I don't have to suffer cliff hangers. I can't stand cliff hangers, but I might break and watch the damn show before it's close to being done.) I also haven't read the books... I'm pathetic okay... But I have watched the Godzilla movies! Well not all of them, there are so freaking many of them. But the newest ones I have watched.

Now with all that in mind, you need to understand, this isn't going to happen anytime soon. Right now I'm trying to obtain as much information about Ghidorah that I can, along with as much information about the dragons from HOTD that I can. I'll be making a post on another blog of mine, to keep tabs of my notes, and when the story is ready to be written, I'll add a link to that post so you can review what I've found. If you want to.

Additionally you need to know that there will be inaccuracies in the story itself. About House of The Dragon mostly, in order to coincide with the direction of the story. But there are some things I already know about Ghidorah that I will be changing. But that should be expected since it's going to be a fanfic, and not to mention a very wild off the wall crossover.

The idea of the story is leaning towards making it a Aemond Targaryen X Reader. One where she finds herself falling through a portal into the very throne room of the red keep. Ghidorah has also arrived in Westeros, but far from Kingslanding, and she knows she needs to find him, before he comes to find her. The concept is that Ghidorah has imprinted with the reader, and views her as his mate. Similar to the crane that thinks her keeper is her mate. (See article here.)

And through unknown reasons they are connected in a way inconceivable to man, and because of this strange connection, they can find eachother anywhere in the world. And additionally for whatever reason the reader is immune to lightning and electricity, and she can regenerate like Ghidorah. I think I might make the reason for them showing up in the world of HOTD being a power that the reader isn't aware of having. Instinctively transporting herself and Ghidorah from their world, before he can be killed. But things might change in the time I actually start writing about this all.

I've mentioned it once or twice here and there, but I haven't really gotten in detail about it before.

I headcannon that Smartass was married once, but then was divorced before the events of the movie. But I haven't talked about how this came to be, who his spouse was, and how Smartass is taking the separation now. So, I'm gonna talk about that today.

Alright, the first big question. Who did Smartass marry and how did they meet?

I don't plan on giving her a name or backstory. I kind of want others to fill that in if they want to (that and I already have way too many OC's as is). But she and Smarty met while he was in law school. She was a waitress in a diner he found himself frequenting during his studies. She found him charming, even if he was distant, and he started to warm up to her. Even if he was hesitant to admit it, he liked her company.

Eventually, she decided to ask him if he wanted to pick up dinner with her. Mostly because he wound up losing track of time and stayed in the diner after her shift ended, and had only ordered coffee the whole time. But also because she wanted to see what he was like. Don't ask me how, but she managed to convince him to go with her, and that became their first date.

They actually didn't take that long to get married. Only dating for a year before Smartass decided to pop the question. She was his first official relationship, so he thought that this was the time he had to propose. She accepted, and they had a nice but quick wedding. Neither of them really had family to invite to the wedding, except Smartass' brother Stupid and his friend Greasy, and a couple of her own friends, so the wedding wasn't too big either.

However, after that, it wasn't too long before the marriage became strained. They both were young, and had just assumed they were ready for the married life. But they did try to make it work; they still loved each other at the time. However, things came to a head when the school found out about Smartass' criminal life style.

The whole gang wasn't present at that point. At that point in time, it was just him and Greasy, and Stupid was starting to join the gang too. They didn't commit too big of crimes yet, and Smarty didn't have as much power back then as he does now, but they were still wanted by the police. Smartass had gotten into law school under a different name, thinking he could find a way to use the law to protect them if he got the license to be a lawyer. And his wife wasn't too happy when she found this out.

It wasn't just his double life that made her want to leave him, there were other factors too. He didn't treat her wrong or anything, but they just weren't ready for marriage and the stress of it all was getting to both of them. But finding out she didn't know her husband as well as she thought she did was the final nail in the coffin for her to tell him she wanted a divorce.

I think at first he may have been heartbroken. Like I said, they still loved each other. But he also would have realized at that point that A) he can't force her to stay with him. You can't really blame a gal if she doesn't want to be tied to the crime life. And B) the relationship had run its course by now. So, he gave her what she wanted. They split their assets evenly, and they never saw each other again. And by far, he hasn't remarried again.

Now. Does Smartass miss her? Well... It's complicated.

Once they separated, he could fully see that there were too many forces against them for them to last long. So, in a way, he's kind of glad that they ended on good terms instead of growing to resent each other like his own parents did (long story).

But some days, when he's feeling down and sentimental, he does miss what they did have. And sometimes, he looks back and wonders what their lives would be like today if they hadn't gotten divorced. That and, Stupid does miss his former sister-in-law. That's an extra twist to the heart.

But, the dice have been rolled now. They can't go back to the way things were. Even if Smartass wanted to pursue her again years later, she's no doubt heard of the big name he and his pack of weasels have made for themselves by now; the chances of her changing her mind on having a crime boss as a spouse is pretty slim.

They both have their own, separate lives now. And they both agree that it's just better to keep it that way.

For record I am not think that mcu women phase 4 writing as Angel that can't be blamed or do wrong.

My problem that a few of them look like replacing man for future projects, I meant beside Wanda, layla (moon knight) , yelena, Ms marvel. The rest look likely will replacing the men like Hawkeye, ant man, hulk, thor (well not really because Jane is dead), loki, black panther, iron man and from phase 1-3.

Now before you saying I overreaching or whatever , I am a women myself and as I like heroine, I more like if they make themselves new name for them and not taking from men.

Well it's more like I sick heard some toxic feminism that saying 'we no need man and men are useless' yet they so happy female characters replacing male characters that mens bulid from zero.

Sorry for rant it's just so far next gen hero from phase 1-3 are domains by women, while I like many female hero I want to new young male hero, so far only spider-man that male hero

I see what you mean but as long as they write those women as interesting and compelling characters I can look past it. Take Kate Bishop for instance, the Hawkeye series was meant to introduce her as Clint's replacement but her character was interesting enough that her role as a "female Hawkeye" wasn't a problem, she was her own person and she just happened to be really good with a bow and arrow.

I can't speak for Cassie or Jen as I haven't seen Quantumania or She-Hulk, but Jane's role in Thor was super weird to me: she wasn't a female Thor at all no matter how much Taika insisted on it. Sylvie's problem is that she's bland and entirely one-dimensional but I have to say I disagree about Black Panther, Shuri is not just T'Challa's replacement, she's her own character and she's absolutely amazing in WF. And Riri was nice too but she was on screen for a short period of time, we're gonna need more time with her.

But truth be told, when I hear the idea that women are replacing the men now I can't help but think, well... maybe the men were replacing the women in previous phases too. In the OG Avengers and Guardians we only had one woman respectively and it took the MCU 10 years to let a woman lead a film.

That toxic feminism you mention is definitely a problem but I really don't see it taking over the MCU at all. We saw that in the Loki series but I can't remember any other movie or series doing that same thing except for that scene in the first ep of She-Hulk but I only ever saw gifs of that scene so I don't have the context. Either way, even if they handled that wrong in that show as well, that's just two series out of 18 movies/series/specials in Phase Four. It helps put things into perspective, don't you think?

I'm not trying to defend the Phase, you know I'm extremely critical of it and the quality went down so quickly after Phase 3 that it almost feels like they suddenly forgot how to write characters. But the problem is not feminism or the female characters, it's more of a general issue of disdain and apathy coming from Feige and the execs. The whole "Phase Four is all about representation" is no more than a shield to defend themselves from criticism and a way to convince their fanboys that anyone who doesn't like what they're releasing is a bigot.

I was browsing through tv and came across an episode and got so nostalgic about how much I loved CID and also couldn't believe how I didn't realise that THESE BITCHES GAY

I saw your RRR posts (I haven't got to watching it yet but I want to, because of your posts) and I couldnt help myself I just had to know your opinions about daya x abhijeet

I took my sweet time for answering it.. and let me RANT now......

I guess I shipped Daya/Abhijeet even before i knew what 'shipping' was. See, this phrase called 'shipping' came very late to me.

Before that I knew I was reading Kurt/Blaine fanfics, Harry/Draco fics from fanfic.net, all I knew was that yeah... if you type " *character 1* and *character 2* fanfic.net" you get this amazing stories where these characters kiss and create a romance story.

And trust me when I say this, I remember there was this episode in CID where Abhijeet seems to have lost his memories, there was a bandage wrapped around his head... something like that but yeah Daya was this extra emotional towards him and I had gone absolutely feral.

I didn't know that there can be term called 'homoerotic undertones'.. I just knew THAT THESE TWO CHARACTERS CAN KISS!! and that was that but never found any Daya/Abhijeet fics sadly.

It was a slow yet process for to understand what 'shipping', 'ships', 'fandoms' meant. You know growing up in the 2010s when you didn't have regular access to phones, we all know smart phones was a big deal even 6-7 years back from now, growing up in India, we don't get to talk about such things with others, we just find out stuffs and rant about them online.

There was even a time when I had shipped random book characters as well. You see, I am a bengali, and you might know we have a quite famous fictional detective named 'Byomkesh' with his assistant 'Ajit'. umm for a reference Sushant Singh Rajput had done a film 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' and long long ago Rajit Kapoor also did a series on Byomkesh on DD national.

Hell I shipped Byomkesh and Ajit so much. I sometimes think on it and I feel so funny!

Even after watching RRR on theatres i had come straight to tumblr if anyone had picked on the blatant 'homoeroticism' and i had to dejectedly return back with just sharing some gifs from the trailer.

Then I found some articles how the west see RRR and its queerness and I knew this FANDOM WILL POP!! I came to see it had already popped off by mid April and still continuing.....

I believe there are many characters from our childhood, early teen years on TV, books, comics where we unconsciously saw THE GAY and shipped it, be it friendship or bromance.... And I bet we all have such 'not so successful shipping' experiences.

I am just happy that today I am grown up enough to see the gay and identify as such and come to social media to find a niche and rant about it, draw fanart or write stories! You realise I was 17 then when i opened tumblr and set up an AO3 account.... before that i was not apparently 'fearless enough' to open an account on AO3 and read the 'only for the users' fics.

It largely changed after Shubh Mangal Zyada Saabhdhan, for me, where i have come to find this large section of Desi audience to be in the 'lgbtq+ shipping community'. I think i phrased this wrong, not just shipping.. a community of desis being the lgbtq+ besties who find common interests between them! Because before this movie, I was mainly involved with non-Indian/ foreign fandoms and pairings.

BUT YEAH GO AND WATCH RRR NOW!!! YOU ARE MISSING BIG! not just the gay but also an amazing visually spectacular, well themed musical, action packed, well acted-directed movie!

I know when I rewatch a movie or show that means a lot to me (even, or maybe especially, one I've seen a million times) I tend to always notice or focus on something different. Salt welcome! so, uh—

confession: i have rewatched very little of the reboot even doing this latest project.

a lot of the gifs are ones that i made previously and am now just recycling into the new sets, and even of the ones i’ve made new, entirely "from scratch" (complete with freshly clipped video from the show to work from), i've only really rewatched the individual scenes themselves and nothing much around them.

the truth is, since gsr was the only part of csi: vegas i actually enjoyed, and, even then, i was infinitely less interested in their work on the hodges case than just their interactions with each other, i haven't really been able to bring myself to revisit the reboot at large just yet.

i’m in it for the cute middle-aged marrieds™, and that’s about it.

that so, there’s not much i can speak to in terms of new observations.

like.

i’ve noticed a few little visual parallels between the reboot and the original series here and there, but nothing especially significant or revelatory.

certainly nothing related to narrative.

of course—and here’s the salt—i suspect that even if i were to actually sit down and rewatch each episode in sequence, taking good notes, there might not be a lot there to notice, as, frankly, the story itself is underwritten/sparse. there’s just not much going on with it, either in the macro sense, with the hodges case overall, OR the micro sense, with the individual characters. everything is so superficial and one-note that there just aren’t “hidden depths” to plumb or subtexts to be read into or character developments to analyze. it’s pretty much a “what you see is what you get” kind of deal.

that said, with what very minimal, "just the gsr interactions" rewatching i actually have done, my main takeaway is just how impressed i am with the texture billy and jorja managed to give grissom and sara’s marriage—which is something i’d appreciated before, too, but which now seems even more impressive to me, the more that i think about it.

as they both talked about in their bts spots leading up to the reboot, they’d really never gotten the chance to play grissom and sara as a happy, stable, committed couple with their relationship “out in the open” before, so what they were doing for the reboot was in many ways new to them.

returning to a character after years spent away would be a hard enough challenge just by itself, but bringing something new and believable to your performance—taking something that had previously been hinted at and making it explicit in a way that feels organic and substantive—to the degree that they did is just wildly impressive.

there’s just no question that the grissom and sara we see in the reboot are “old marrieds” who’ve spent just about every waking moment of the last six years on a tiny boat together.

they feel so worn into each other, so comfortable around each other.

there’s just no hesitation between them.

and it’s not like we get that sense because we get to see a preponderance of deep, emotional moments with them, because really we don’t.

their almost total lack of personal storyline denies us anything more than just the hug in episode 01x03 “under the skin,” the ring return in episode 01x08 “pipe cleaner,” the kiss in episode 01x10 “signed, sealed, delivered,” and a few other scattered comfort moments here and there.

it all just shines through in the quiet, everyday interactions between them—the little affirming glances, the subtle nonverbal communication, the way they play off of each other, how they anticipate each other’s moves.

it has almost nothing to do with what’s in the script (which is again, next to nothing); it’s all in the portrayal that billy and jorja bring and what they imply, which is just so wonderfully, classically gsr, plus that little bit of “we’ve been together forever by now” extra sauce.

anyway.

among all of the other stuff about the reboot that i don’t enjoy—including how very much the whole production feels like a “first draft” as opposed to a “finished product”—i do appreciate getting to see this incarnation of my otp, where there’s just so obviously so much history and knowing between them as a couple.

it’s very validating.

YCDHN LINER NOTES: Chapter Two

WHO'S READY TO DELVE INTO SOME ~MIND RAPE~ TERRITORY. So this chapter is a rough one emotionally and an exhausting tense action-packed drama bomb so like we're right out of the gate getting walloped with action compared to the slow burn of OUADYA. The stakes are higher here (though I will promise that Chapter Three is a breather ep). I do love a good breather ep.

SO LET'S GET INTO MY THOUGHT PROCESS. Put under a cut for people who haven't read yet.

[INCEPTION NOISE]

Lucien's Mindfuck sequences were planned out around the time I first started conceiving of this fic and were one of the clearest images I had. The idea of the Somnovem systematically digging through Lucien's mind to find something that could break him seemed like the most devious form of torture they could think up. Also it establishes that his connection to them goes both ways- he can sort methodically through the many minds of Cognouza, but he's just ONE mind and they're all working together to get into his.

Also it introduces a third layer to Cognouza- we have the flesh layer, the dream layer beneath it, and then Lucien's own mind, which has its own tiers. Gunshot gunshot cash register noise inception gong. No matter what happens, Lucien has been hooked into Cognouza so deeply and so long that he's like a secondary organ, so you can imagine why they're not happy to let go of their extra brain who is both liberated and snared at the same time.

The repeated refrain of "this isn't how it happens" is all Tamsyn Muir, and I will admit that reading Harrow the Ninth definitely contributed a lot to how those dream sequences played out.

I had a very specific image in mind for the opening scene of Lucien on the altar and it's basically Asuka's death scene from End of Evangelion- seen in screencap form here. What you can't see is her mind-linked giant robot being disemboweled while she's still synced to it. That's what I wanted the experience to feel like for him. The absolute helplessness of knowing this isn't happening to YOU but it feels like it is because your brain is processing it like it is.

Also I just don't think you can do a Mind Rape scene without referencing Eva just a bit once you've seen it. That shit sticks with you.

Incidentally, the commentaries on the old Eva movies are how I first learned about Taliesin Jaffe's existence and started idolizing his brain. It has been very strange several years realizing he's more than just a little guy talking about Babylonian myths in an audio commentary.

The ink splatter butterfly aspect of the Somnovem Omega (and boy do I just love making up new aspects to creepify them. I watch a lot of horror movies. My brain is scary) is based on The Darkness from the 1999 House on Haunted Hill remake, seen here:

Incidentally I cannot believe I found a gif of that.

The people chosen for Lucien's dream up until Gaudius throws in the dick move are all, in some form or fashion, his abusers or, in Derrin's case, just someone he thought didn't give him his due (which lead to leaving the Orders). There's a reason why Derrin was the first and least violent kill, whereas Lucien went to town on Reese and Dodger.

(He doesn't get to kill Vess because he never gets to kill Vess in this universe.)

It was important that Lucien resist the attempts to break him with his abusers and then crumble under the face of love, like if you accept that love is what makes people, then you have to accept that the opposite is true. Lucien's start of darkness began with Heather's death. There's a part of him that still rationalizes that he would have been fine if she had lived, but she didn't and that's HER fault, not his own for never processing it properly because he was a terrified child. And because he never processed that grief properly, of course that's going to be what gets him in the end- the idea that he could have her love and safety and not have to fight so hard anymore.

Go on and ask me again why I like my headcanon better than what's presented in the book. I THOUGHT VERY HARD ON IT.

THE HAPPY FUN BALL OF NIGHTMARES

You'll notice that I just went apeshit on the order of operations here- most of the stuff that happens in this chapter are things that happen in the Permaheart/Save Yussa plotline, which is going to happen, but I wanted a really dynamic fight scene to make the dragon more pressing since the Nein are level 12 right now, and the scribe mites and the froghemoths were cool.

Also I just refuse to be sensible about things that happen in canon and will absolutely shake them up. These are not the canon events you're looking for. Any resemblance is just me vibing with that and using it.

I know this whole fic is about contrived coincidences and fate pushing the Nein in a way, but I really did think that them stumbling upon the means for soul transference in ANY OTHER context would have been weird, but the HFB has already been established as having a really random connection to something they'll deal with later and Halas WAS trying to do immortality experiments and he'd need to know how to transfer souls to get his soul in one of his clone bodies.

But also I love the idea that the villains can manipulate events in their favor too and the fact that the Permaheart IS in there and it would fuck up their plans if the Nein found it adds a layer of hubris to the whole thing.

The "fantasy prepper" larder scene was just for fun but come on guys THE HFB IS BASICALLY A BOMB SHELTER. There's totally random ass canned food and freeze dried jerky in there along with his vegetable garden.

AND NOW LET'S TALK ABOUT THE LITTLE RED DOT. So I have thought a long time about that dot and I think everyone thinks it's meant to be Cognouza and it could be still, but Cognouza doesn't have a fixed location and it would have JUST HAPPENED when Halas constructed the Heirloom Sphere. Yeah, he was doing experiments in an astral dreadnought but the way he talks to Caleb suggests he's never seen the city in the astral sea. So what the fuck ELSE could it be.

Well, you'll notice Molly heard chains before he touched it and something Tharizdun-shaped happened to the Somnovem and Cognouza when the psychic storm hit, so I'm sure that's not important or anything.

Was that [NEO HOU/HOU MING HAO]? Oh no no, that was just [WU XIE], a/an [CANON CHARACTER]from [GRAVE ROBBERS’ CHRONICLES]. They are [TWENTY SIX] years old and [ARE] aware that they are not actually from Washington DC. Too bad they can’t stray from this city for long. Hello! I am Meaghan, I haven't rped in like 3 years and this is Wu Xie!

Wu Xie is the main character from Grave Robbers' Chronicles, a Chinese novel series and also several drama adaptations following the books.

It's kind of an Chinese Indiana Jones but it involves like 9 families (not all of them are in the series but the prequel the The Mystic Nine the families are involved....plus the other 2 main characters are an immortal who also has amnesia and a bestie who just wants treasure and food. and his name literally translates to 'fat man') for generations have been protecting yet also grave robbing treasures from bad guys wanting to get immortality?

It's hard to explain so I'll link the wiki page of the series to this below. But the series are quite good (and the sequel based 10 years later) but the FC who I am using is my favourite from one of the series adaptations. I’m still editing his bio page but yeah.

Wu Xie is an antique shop owner, and liaisons with the museums about the authenticity of artifacts. I'm from Australia so I use the English spelling, pre warning in advance!

So things below is a little about me:

I like kdramas and cdramas, Doctor Who, Criminal Minds, Supernatural, TVD/TO/Legacies, Merlin, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, some anime, amongst many other things. I did have another character in mind but all my gifs I made for him were deleted from years ago.... I might do characters from The Mysterious Thief Yamaneko or An Incurable Case of Love and others maybe in the near future.

In regards to TV series and movies, honestly recommend me shows to watch and I can do the same if you want some not so familiar Asian dramas. Or crime shows. I love crime shows. However I am not really a horror fan.

I am a dog lover and owner, even though I am allergic to animal hair

I have a obsession with the river puppy aka hippo. I find them adorable

I have autism and ADHD and actually do a lot of research in my own time about the two neurodiversities on a blog even though I am about to finish my diploma in nursing (no more assessments though!).

Hi!!! I totally missed talking to you too! I would love to hear about the performance or festival! It sounds super cool and I've never been to one. I hope it was amazing. I totally agree that the surprise songs are a nice bonus and how it makes every show different and special no matter what. I totally agree about the Folklore dresses..they are my favorite next to Speak Now. Unfortunately I didn't get to go to the Paramore show the other night which is a huge bummer. It just didn't work out at the last minute. But I finally saw the Barbie movie last night! It was pretty good. There were some things that surprised me still even if I got stuff spoiled. I loved all the pink stuff and the Ken stuff. It managed to be funny but also kinda heartfelt and real. Like even America's speech..even though it felt on the nose at times, it was kinda nice to hear her say it in a simple relatable way and it did make me think about being a woman. It had a lot of good themes and ideas but almost felt like two different movies...and I guess because of the two settings. It made it a little different than what I expected though and I don't even know what I was expecting either. I loved the I'm Just Ken song and scene! It makes me happy that he got to sing in another movie again haha. I guess they are still working on a La La Land stage version but I haven't heard anything else about it. I'm curious what other kinda songs could be in your musical version. I could definitely see a welcome to Barbie land song and maybe a song for Weird Barbie. I could see it being similar to Mamma Mia I guess. I love Megan Fahy as a choice and I loved her in the Bold Type and then I found out she was in Next to Normal. I'll watch the videos you posted too. Gavin Creel and Jen Coella seem perfect haha. I was lucky to see Gavin as Cinderellas prince/wolf in Into the Woods last month and he was funny so he'd be great in this. That's so awesome about getting Hadestown tickets! I'd definitely say it was one of my favorites in the last few years and to see live. I haven't actually listened to the new Sweeney Todd yet but I guess I'd recommend the original cast with Angela Lansbury as Mrs Lovett, but I've also seen Patti Lupone. For Rent, sometimes I just like hearing the songs compared to watching the show..like you can get most of the plot from the cast recording even if you're unfamiliar. That is sooo cool about Newsies!!! Did you get to see Jeremy Jordan? I've seen the proshot a ton of times anyway but I'm so curious. I also enjoyed and would recommend SMASH since we are talking about musical shows lol. But Schmigadoon was the same way with all of the references and stuff. Also who did you see in Waitress? I still watch the Tony's and try to keep up with it but I feel like the revivals were better than new musicals this year or that's what I was familiar with and I didn't listen to any cast recordings. I used to always do that before the Tony's with any new show but I didn't this year..but I will eventually. It's really hard for me to know who should win Tony's since I usually like most musicals. The only ones that I don't really like are the bio ones that's also jukebox cuz they all seem similar to me. I have a musical sideblog so I do try to keep up with it and I love all your gifs. You have great taste in musicals. I love anything Sondheim and those are great picks. Spring Awakening is also a favorite of mine! I forgot the rest of your list but I think I'm familiar with most of them. Also that's pretty cool about the Notebook musical and I'm sorry it wasn't good. Maybe some things shouldn't be a musical and I can't really imagine the songs translating well or how many songs it would be but at least you liked the actors. I'd be curious to hear more about it if you wanna share! I thought it could have potential with Ingrid Michaelson. I think I saw a clip of Joy Woods singing Suddenly Seymour from Little Shop if I'm remembering correctly and her voice is so good!

hellooooo friend!! i went to lollapalooza last week, which was my first music festival and it was a lot, but also really fun! i definitely am not an outdoorsy girl, and i was not as prepared for chicago summer heat as i should've been. i lowkey had more fun at the aftershows (for sabrina carpenter, and maisie peters), and i think if i was to do lollapalooza again, i'd probably just do aftershows and maybe not do GA for all 4 days, but just one day? there were a few sets where i was like "... i probably would have a better view and have more fun watching this on the hulu livestream", which is a little bit unfortunate, but you live, you learn! it was actually kind of scary watching so many people around me pass out, and i just ... do not think i am a festival girlie! which is fun because i have bumbershoot coming up, but it's not really a big music festival, just a very small one in seattle and i'll probably just hang out with the crafty things instead (unless the people i'm going with really want to listen to the music)! i got to see some of my favorite artists though, and it was just really, really lovely — especially holly humberstone, because i don't think i'll get the chance to see her for a while (unless she tours to seattle with her new album)! i don't think i've asked you this, but aside from paramore and taylor swift, who else do you like to listen to? 🤍 i'm sorry about paramore :( i thought of you earlier! i got a notification on my phone about cheap paramore tickets in seattle tonight and i was like oh .....! i almost caved and got tickets but i am 1) still run down from chicago/lolla + 2) i spent money on tickets this morning! but eeeee i'm glad you got the chance to see barbie!! i do agree about it feeling a little clunky / like two separate movies! i don't know what i had expected from the barbie movie, but i definitely didn't expect that! ugh i'm already thinking about how beautiful a barbie musical set would be (can you imagine the barbie house?) maybe something by jason sherwood or beowulf boritt? i just think it would be so fun!! and yes — love love love meghann fahy! she also sang a bunch of kerrigan-lowdermilk (who wrote sam brown) songs back in the day that i really like, like say the word i'm so jealous you got to see gavin in into the woods! the tour didn't come to seattle :( i've only heard the best things about gavin, and one of my close friends loves gavin creel so i was like "oh he'd be a perfect ken!" i think they finally announced the sweeney todd revival cast recording release date, so i mightttt hold off and wait till then, and then go backwards and listen to angela lansbury! i did not get to see jeremy jordan in newsies, but i have seen him live — he came to seattle with betsy wolfe to sing with the seattle symphony a couple years ago! i saw newsies on august 9th, 2014, actually (what are the odds), with corey cott, liana hunt, and ben fankhauser! i like the proshot, but i think i'm more partial to the casts i saw (and i think that jeremy and kara and ben and akb were all a little too old to play teenagers at that point)! although my favorite cast is probably actually an amalgamation of the first national tour cast — stephanie styles as katherine, joey barreiro as jack (i've actually seen him as jack twice; once on tour and once regionally), and i think i've just loved every davey i've seen! i love smash! i was talking to someone in chicago about it, actually — they were sitting at the table next to ours and i just struck up a conversation about lolla since they mentioned someone i really love and we ended up talking about broadway / smash and it was really fun! i always say i'll do a smash rewatch and then i never do, but the music is just so good! i'm super curious to see what happens with the smash musical (bombshell musical?) they're supposedly working on.

with waitress, i saw betsy wolfe & drew gehling twice on broadway, desi oakley twice on tour, and i saw alison luff & mark evans on broadway three times! my jenna ranking is probably alison then desi then betsy, and i just really liked how alison and mark played off each other (i have a soft spot for mark from when he was in the play that goes wrong). but i think my favorite jenna overall would be nicolette! i kind of stopped paying a ton of attention to waitress after it closed on broadway though! i also feel that way with this last tony season! i feel like everything now is just either a revival (no shade to revivals), or an adaptation, or a jukebox and it is very rare that an adaptation feels ... complete to me now rather than just a cash grab. it's just very disheartening, as someone who loves theatre! if/when you feel comfortable coming off anon, i'd love to follow your sideblog (and/or your main blog), but that's totally up to you! always happy to chat with you on anon 🤍 i got to see a sunday afternoon on the island of la grande jatte again in chicago, and i had a good little cry! i'm such a sondheim girlie. and that's okay; not all musicals are winners/will speak to me! i think the notebook musical just felt very ... cashgrabb-y? it did make me cry though, so there's that (not that it takes much to make me cry)! i think the songs were just kind of ... forgettable, which really sucks because i like a lot of ingrid michaelson's songs! joy woods' voice is BEAUTIFUL, and john cardoza really just stood out to me! i remember sitting in the theatre and thinking to myself "this man needs to be orpheus someday" and then went to look at his insta and realized he covered epic II from it! i was so so happy when he was cast in moulin rouge as christian; i've heard some clips of his christian and i really like him too! i think the set was beautiful too; i remember being really impressed by the rain scene! i wonder if they've reworked it for broadway, and what will be the same!

What is your favorite movie/TV show to gif?

TUA inspires me the most, probably, because I'm most invested in so many of those characters and despite only being three seasons, there's just a lot of content there to work with. I can go through those episodes a thousand times and still find something I haven't giffed yet or want to or some totally new take on a thought I had previously.

I also really love to gif TWD: World Beyond, it's my all time favorite show, and the tags are soooo bare. Those gifs barely get any traction because most people don't care about the show but it's special to ME and I will gif it forever. There are just so many good moments, so many beautiful dynamics (especially in the realm of adoptive + found families), so many good lessons that encompass the show, and I just don't think I'll ever run out of ideas for it. It's also one of the rare shows that I love every single character in, so it's not like I have to avoid certain scenes/dynamics/etc. It's just my comfort show in every sense, so I love giffing it.

In general, I really like post-apocalyptic aesthetics + horror, and I tend to want to gif that kind of stuff more than anything. I watch a lot of lighter shows but I don't ever have the same inspo for that kind of thing.

How many unposted sets are in your drafts right now?

I currently have a few of my sets for TUA appreciation week done (Favorite superpower, 1/2 favorite quotes, & a free choice... I won't spoil any of those but I'm very content with those right now 😌), and I've got quite a few half finished sets that I'm either not ready to go back to or am not sure about going back to... a Viktor/Sissy set that the quote I was using for just doesn't work anymore but it's pretty so I am determined to find a way to make it work, a FTWD ship set that I kind of lost my direction on, a typography set for usergif's back to cool event, and a Klaus/Luther set that kind of evolved into 3 other different sets I've already posted so I'm not sure I'll go back to it. BUT - my queue usually has 10+ things in it and I change how many things post a day depending on how I feel. Right now, there are currently 11 random gifs there.

What sets if any do you have planned to make in the future?

The rest of my TUA appreciation week gifsets are my priority right now. I've got a few of them done, but I have plans for multiple each day so it's really just .... whether or not I have the time/inspiration for all of them.

But I haven't been giffing for very long, so I recently did a rewatch of a few of my favorite shows and saved the clips of everything I want to gif, so I kind of have a never ending supply of things I want to get to.

As for bigger projects, I'm working on a few "this character in every episode" sets for some of my favorite characters in TWD, a few dif TWD parallels I want to get to, and I've got a long list of quotes/lyrics/etc for my favorite characters that I eventually want to get to (that's why there's been so many random Luther quote sets these past few months... my list for him is so long with 3 years of things I've saved, I will never tire of giffing him).

"The Green Knight" is visually stunning, but it kinda missed the point — and that's a good thing (1/5)

So, you probaby heard about The Green Knight (2021). Maybe you haven't watched it yet, but it did make quite a fuss since it's first trailer debuted in May. It looked different. It looked fresh. It looked like the indiest movie ever made since The Fall (2006). It had Dev Patel in the major role. We fell in love instantly.

Look at this poster. Even the poster looks indie and cool and conceptual. PLEASE NOTICE that there's nothing actually green in the poster, did you notice that???? Poetic cinema

And it made me inchy to dissect it, SO I DID

(Also, I'll be dividing this one into 5 smaller parts, first because it might get easier rsrs and second because tumblr doen't allow more than 10 images per post, and I really wanted to use a lot of gifs and images because this movie is absolutely gorgeous)

If you have no idea what's about, the movie is based on a famous late 14th-century Middle English chivalric poem (whose author is unknown) titled (centuries later) Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. It tells a story of one of the knights of King Arthur's Round Table, Sir Gawain:

That nice-looking fellow in red chopping that head off. Curious fact, Sir Gawain was the most popular character in Arthurian legends at the time (even more than Lancelot, Lancelot only got to taste voluptuous fame later).

The story begins as one day, on Christmas Eve, a green knight came riding on a green horse into King Arthur's dining hall. The Green Knight asks who among them would indulge him in a Christmas game. He then chalenges any knight to strike him with his axe, and then meet him one year and a day later in the Green Chapel, where the Green Knight would give him the same blow in return. As Joseph Campbell tells it more graciously than I,

"The only knight in the hall who had the courage to accept this incongruous invitation was Gawain. He arose from the table, the Green Knight got off his horse, handed Gawain the axe, stuck out his neck, and Gawain with a single stroke chopped off his head. The Green Knight stood up, picked up his head, took back the axe, climbed onto his horse, and as he rode away called back to the astonished Gawain, "I'll see you in a year." (source)

And then, a year later, Gawain has to go and face his death. That's the basic synopsis, and that's the movie's plot as well.

The movie overall received good reviews, and people still talk about how cult it is. And if you watch it having read the original text (or at least knowing the story well), you can notice that they have adapted many details of the poem very faithfully. However, they made a few changes, and one of them was exactly it's ending, and consequently, it's moral. And it's beautiful.

So there's no need to say that there'll be A LOT of spoilers for this movie (and for the arturian legend as well, I guess), so if you want the full experience to be surprised and VERY confused by it, go watch it, my dove. So without further ado...

THE MOVIE

So, I loved this movie, and I swear, it was the most pretentious thing. Really, you can see it clearly that this movie thinks very highly of itself

LOOK AT THIS OPENING CREDITS AND TELL ME THIS ISN'T PRETENTIOUS AS HELL actually it may remind you of another pretentious opening credits

Basically twins (this is a joke please don't attack me)

But seriously, there are A LOT of scenes in this movie that feel like they're only there because they look beautiful and conceptual.

And honestly, I didn't mind it at all.

It was one of the things I loved most, actually, how blatantly beautiful it was, how plainly colorful. Because in this story, color matters. The whole movie can be seen to be about colors. In the extent that it can actually help understand what is going on in scene, and be a way of interpreting the story in general.

"Date night" from the "Steamy night" series, is one of my favorite stories of yours. Nick's appearance at the party... when june recognizes him from his wedding band being similar to hers is such a beautiful scene. And then at the balcony... June's power over his manhood, their beautiful connection...

How do you create such genuine love scenes in your stories? The books you read? Your personal life experiences?

(I haven't seen such beautiful romance in any hollywood movie. Only in my brain when I read your stories)

I've always made up stories. I used to make up characters, plays, complex back stories for pets and neighbors. At bathtime, the toys would have a trial, declare batman guilty (he was innocent), sentence him to be executed by slow lowering into lava (the bath) while his beloved (Barbie) watched from the crowd.

Always been a romantic. Always been emo.

Even as an adult, on personality tests for work, I'm off the charts in neuroticism, imagination, detail and narrative meaning. Which sucks in real life- I have huge feelings, a very firm idea of how things SHOULD be, and I can't shut up.

So the short answer is, it's just how my brain works. Too many ideas. If you ever need ideas? I'm your guy. It is my superpower.

It was a wonderful relief to find fic culture, to find a place to funnel all of that energy. A03 is this little garden of situations and scenarios I have pruned and nourished, and now they're like plants that reliably bear fruit. When I read them, they produce hope and humor. So when I get lost or stuck, I can remind myself of the bigger picture. That life doesn't suck, I'm just resolving an obstacle so I can have my happy ending. It gives me agency, when I spent so many years feeling powerless and hopeless.

So when I see my characters- which are extenstions of how I see myself- right- like how Batman was the part of me acused of being "bad" and Barbie knew I was really a good person and didn't deserve to suffer-

That's how it is with fic. We play out justice and healing and it feels good. I feel an intense pressure to "get it right". "Set the story straight." That discomfort is where the fic comes from.

Like the girl in the Ring- scribbling the image of the light over and over and over. Knowing there's something more outside of the well. That's me and all tumblurinas making fic and podcasts and gifs and moodboards and metas and discussions and discords. We need to play with Nick and June, and they need happily ever after.

And yes, the details are (mostly) real. The most real is undisclosed desires, and the high school AU is gonna be straight documentary. I think ppl are gonna like that one.

It's this cool virtual space- like a diary- but one that's fun to read, instead of being whiny I can make JUNE whiny, and have her make better decisions than I did.
