Un petit week-end entre meilleures amies

Cela faisait maintenant plusieurs semaines que Lisa attendait impatiemment l’arrivée de sa meilleure amie, qu’elle n'avait pas vue depuis bien trop longtemps à son goût. Toutes deux s’étaient connues lors du plus grand évènement de Poudlard, le tournoi des trois sorciers, faisant participer l’école de Poudlard, mais également celles de Beauxbâtons et de Durmstrang, un tournoi réservés aux sorciers âgés de plus de dix-sept ans, mais la participation imprévue d’Harry qui n'avait jamais déposé son nom dans la coupe de feu avait tout changé et avait également permis à la jolie blonde de rencontrer celle qui est désormais sa meilleure amie, Fleur Delacour, participante pour l’école de Beauxbâtons. Mais depuis le temps avait passé et même si les deux meilleures amies avaient un échange épistolaire, la jeune Smith était ravie que la jeune Delacour vienne enfin lui rendre une petite visite, ce qui lui permettrait de lui raconter bien des choses qui ne peuvent pas forcément ce dire dans une simple lettre, notamment sur sa présente relation avec Ron, bien que Fleur ait été l’une des première à qui la jeune Smith avait confié ses sentiments, puisqu’elle craignais d’en parler au rouquin qui avait capturé son coeur, il y a bien des années désormais.

Mais pour le moment, Lisa quitta rapidement le Terrier, non sans un dernier baiser à son amoureux et à sa belle-mère qui l'avait recueillie et adoptée comme sa propre fille et qui était désormais ravie qu’elle fasse officiellement partie de la famille en tant que petite-amie de Ron. Son trajet vers le Chaudron Baveur ne fût pas bien long grâce aux flammes de cheminettes qui l’emmenèrent en un instant, à quelques rues seulement du lieu de rendez-vous, la jeune Smith était tellement impatiente de retrouver sa meilleure amie et de passer tout un week-end avec elle, il était d’ailleurs question que Fleur passe la nuit au Terrier, pour la plus grande joie de Molly, qui était toujours ravie d’accueillir des filles chez elle, elle qui n'avait eut qu’une fille et six garçons. En attendant, la jolie blonde voulait profiter un maximum de la présence de son amie avant de retourner chez elle avec Fleur. D’ailleurs elle ne tarda pas à retrouver son amie à l’intérieur du Chaudron Baveur et ne tarda pas à l’étreindre, ravie de pouvoir enfin la retrouver après tous ses longs mois sans la voir, puis toutes deux s’assirent et passèrent commande d’une bonne bière au beurre, avant de reposer chacune, leur regard azuréen dans celui de l’autre.

ㅡ Il y a tellement de choses à raconter si tu savais ! Déjà Ron s’est déclaré, nous sortons ensemble depuis quelques mois, Molly est ravie, tu n'imagines même pas ! 

Te répondit alors la jeune Smith sans se défaire de son sourire habituel, repensant au jour où le jeune Weasley lui avait déclaré son amour et qu’elle avait fait de même, formant désormais un couple et dont elle avait du mal à se séparer, quitte à enfreindre quelques règles de l’école la nuit pour aller le rejoindre et dormir avec lui, dans la plus grande discrétion, pour ne pas subir le courroux du professeur McGonagall.

been re-reading a couple of @hp-hcs yandere works which has sent me on a cormac mclaggen tangent. like what if the slytherins weren't there to save the darling? take them out of the equation and boy do you have one miserable reader.

mclaggen has not a shred of actual love as a yandere. with yandere's like theodore, draco, enzo, ect, there's the potential for a semi-normal relationship given the darling 'tolerates' their yandere tendencies. whilst mglaggen's just a piece of shit all-around.

he'll take the breaking of boundaries to another level, and he won't do it in private like zacharias smith might have the decency to do. he'll straight up make-out with them in public, established relationship or not. there's not exactly much his darling can do, man's a quidditch player which is all you need to know about his strength. you want to try? i mean go ahead but he's pretty trigger-happy.

he will not listen if you express discomfort with his actions or presence. and is one of the few yandere's that doesn't really care to get to know his darling particularly well. he see's them as more of an object than a person, which is one of his most toxic traits as a yandere.

fully acts like you two are in a relationship after a while of forcing himself into his darling's life. i don't say committed relationship because of his very few tolerable traits as a yandere - he's not really the jealous type. now that's not to say his darling can have a whole harem on the side but does he care if they have male friends or if they're kissing other people? not particularly.

what really sets him off is being neglected and rejected (as if he pays them any attention). if for a moment he starts to feel like his darlings other relations are getting in his way, consider your freedom gone. cormac's method of keeping his darling in check is much more.. macabre then other yanderes. he's not smart enough to manipulative them, not popular enough to scare others away, not charismatic enough to convince them to ditch everyone else for him, nor is he magically talented enough to conjure up a spell or brew a potion to fix his problems, but he is strong enough to scare them into obediance.

despite all this, his protectiveness over his darling is kind of endearing, at times, on occasion. some days cormac will take their spoon and blow on their pumpkin soup, so their tongue doesn't get burned, and sometimes be'll go as far as to push them down the moving stairs just to whip out his broom and save them. but please do praise him for his chivalry afterwards, or he'll start to feel neglected again and god forbid that ever happens.

i honestly think he'd be in top 10 worst yandere's to have. im thinking of making an official ranking once i've gone through all the characters. i also think he's one of the characters with the most yandere potential. pretty sure lavender brown tops that list.

some others characters i plan to analyse as yandere: cedric, pansy, platonic!uncle!regulus that miraculously survived and is now sirius's sons guardian after popping out from the abyss, fleur (+bill??), i want to write for gred and forge but idk how to approach them, Ernie MacMillan (but only because I like my fancast of him), rita skeeter (BUT with WoW margot robbie as the fancast), platonic!tomhughes!voldemort!, luna, krum, Oliver Wood (but his broom is his darling), random wizard #4 mentioned once in the entire series

Analysis: Was Hermione really shown to be superior to Lavender in HBP?

The whole 'Hermione vs Lavender' thing, aka uplifting the nerdy girl over the girly girl doesn't exist in the books, it is entirely fan made.

People often talk about how Lavender, a girly girl (who giggles, is interested in divinition, loves unicorns etc) was put down in the books just to uplift Hermione, someone who isn't particularly feminine and who's nerdy and intelligent with regards to their relationship with Ron in hbp. This literally never happened though, Rowling went to elaborate lengths to establish that all 3 of them were incredibly immature and hormonal teenagers

Rowling might hv been partial to Hermione in a lot of instances but this isn't one of the. Hermione is portrayed to be just as immature and teenage-like as the other 2, in ways that don't strike as 'uplifting'. Rowling even crosses the line doing this, like with the bird attack. Ron and Hermione bicker due to terrible communication, then Hermione cries alone in a classroom when she sees Ron kissing lavender, and is thereafter described as 'mysteriously vanishing' every time Ron and Lavender are together. She's constantly shown to be really jealous and angry with this.

“He’s at perfect liberty to kiss whomever he likes,” said Hermione. “I really couldn’t care less.” She raised her quill and dotted an i so ferociously that she punctured a hole in her parchment. Harry said nothing"

She then teases Ron and runs to the bathroom crying when he teases her back, then debates picking between Cormac McLaggen and Zacarias Smith- she ends up picking Cormac as 'he'd annoy Ron the most' (Cormac being Ron's 'rival' for the post of Keeper in Quidditch).

In what way does this qualify as 'shown to be superior'!?

Harry constantly complains about Hermione's pettiness. The book literally says:

Harry was left to ponder in silence the depths to which girls would sink to get revenge.

The use of the word girls in plural shows that in no way does the plot or the narrative think that Hermione is superior to Lavender. They're both the same: teenage girls being petty and dumb asf, Hermione in a vindictive way and Lavender in an overly romantic way. Harry, who doesn't discriminate girls for being feminine (eg. Fleur), is also sick of Ron and Lavender. Even Parvati, who's just as girly as Lavender, was tired of them.

“Hi, Harry,” said Parvati who, like him, looked faintly embarrassed and bored by the behavior of their two friends.

Lavender was never shown as weak just because she was feminine or pitted against Hermione. She joins the DA in OotP, was one of the first few girls to join the DA and Neville into hiding in fear of being targeted by the Carrows in DH (implying that she'd rebelled against them all year), and stayed back at Hogwarts to defend the castle after Voldemort's warning.

All of this wasn't written to uplift or put down anybody, both the girls were just written as teenagers. And for me that's what makes their last interaction so heartbreaking in DH

Two bodies fell from the balcony overhead as they reached the ground a gray blur that Harry took for an animal sped four-legged across the hall to sink its teeth into one of the fallen. “NO!” shrieked Hermione, and with a deafening blast from her wand, Fenrir Greyback was thrown backward from the feebly struggling body of Lavender Brown.

Its not Ron who protects her, its Hermione. That shriek in capitals and the 'deafening blast' seem so devastatingly personal. This was the girl she'd spent 6 years sharing classes with and living in the same dormitory with.

Its the fans that pit the 2 against each other, while the narrative does the exact opposite. Both girls were very young. They went from being petty teenagers fighting over a guy to fighting in a brutal war and seeing unimaginable horrors.
