Hi Minnie! I know you haven't watched any Marvel since Endgame, and I'm the same way. But last night I caved and started watching TFATWS for the first time. And honestly, the Bucky in this show is just... not Bucky? I think Seb did a great job with the script and direction he was given, but Bucky seems so out of character based on what we know about him and his evolution up until Endgame. I get that the events of Endgame (and particularly Steve's departure) would have affected him and the way he behaves, but like... he just seems like an entirely different person here, and I feel like they just really wanted to play up his sarcasm and 'easily irritable' traits so his character could play off of Sam's. And yeah, I enjoy parts of his dynamic with Sam, but again, this just doesn't feel like Bucky. I just feel like they destroyed his character for the sake of ensuring he and Sam were a funny, love-hate duo. But anyway, back to the point I was trying to make with all of this: Marvel truly failed Steve and Bucky, and I'm just going to continue to pretend Endgame (and the events that followed it) never happened.

This is very interesting, if sad, to hear. I haven't seen the show myself as you know, so I'm not really in a position to comment (much), but I will admit that from what I did see of it on tumblr I got the same impression. Overall, it didn't feel like Bucky to me either, and that's not because Sebastian suddenly chose to portray him differently of his own accord. I think you could well be right when you say that for this show, Bucky was (re)written to maximise the comedic potential of Seb & Anthony's irl dynamic. And they are funny together, of course, and their dynamic is great, both on and off screen. But in this case, it seems that showcasing that dynamic was deemed more important than consistent characterisation, which is a recurring problem in the MCU.

And you're absolutely right about Endgame of course. Never happened. Never even heard of her. Sam is Cap, but other than that, nothing post Steve and Bucky reuniting in Wakanda is real. Facts 🤷🏻‍♀️
