xianyun’s story quest cutscene was so so beautiful, the visuals, the message, reconnecting us to the traveler and their emotions like i’m just in awe of how much genshin has stepped it up lately omg

“It truly is such an honor, meeting the renowned doctor everyone in Liyue talks about.” Xianyun said, and it didn’t take a genius to identify the curiosity embedded in her voice. “At first, and as a newcomer here, I even dared to think all the praise might be a bit exaggerated. Not everyone can perform what most would deem as miracles, after all.”

“Indeed.” Baizhu directed a brief glance to the three girls going around to play in the vicinity, absorbed by their respective brand-new kites and their talk about crafting those same kites, to fully focus on the person in front of him. “I could not have dreamed of achieving those either, not without help.” There was no point in trying to hide or downplay what people said about him, not when Changhsheng had whispered ‘adeptus’ right at first sight.

Not when it was crystal clear she had identified who and what the snake was too.

“Still, the resolve to help and the effort must be yours, or are they not?” Xianyun raised her eyebrows, and a slight smile appeared on Baizhu’s face.

“Thank you.” Was Changsheng’s immediate answer, even before he could intervene.

“Yes, thank you, my esteemed…” Leaving the phrase hanging in the air was obviously on purpose.

“Yes, allow me to properly introduce myself first.” She said, as if either the intention had been building up intrigue or she had just been too enthralled by the rest of their conversation to take that into account. “You may address me as Xianyun. You probably know this already from your own apprentice, but Shuyu is my apprentice too. Since quite recently, though. I am truly glad she has bonded with those two girls so quickly.”

“That makes two of us, then. And nice to meet you, my esteemed Xianyun. As a Liyue resident, and most importantly as… could we say ‘colleagues’ in this specific situation? Never doubt Doctor Baizhu is at your service.”
