update to the Playing Undertale With Roommate Whose Only Social Media is Pinterest situation: we only just got to waterfall and so far it has been a fucking trip
they have No Idea the significance of Flowey yet. not even a hint. they thought the sans echo flower conversation was about echo flowers
during the papyrus date and especially when they got to his room they kept looking at me and saying "THIS is your man????" which they stopped asking after the date. they have read some of my fics. i do not think i am any less insane to them now
they gave papyrus a valley girl voice btw. mostly because i had to beg them not to give him a mickey mouse voice instead
they didn't fucking know what skeletor sounds like
bc i know The Efficient Ways to do Things and they don't they've been reminding me of a buncha details & lines of dialogue I don't actually have embedded in my memory. particularly "PAPYRUS IS HUNGRY, TOO! HUNGRY FOR JUSTICE!"
they got the "Can I speak to G..." phone call. i have never once gotten that in any of my playthroughs, probably because i don't usually go up to that area but still. ik its not REALLY rare but i have never actually seen it Organically before so it was crazy to ME
Dogsong is my morning alarm ok. so when it showed up in the game and they realized they recognized it on a subconscious level they looked physically pained
Undyne's first chase scene scared the shit out of them

anyways I am! very concerned for qcharlie! I don't know that it's intentional on codeflippa's end but he is For Sure being infected just by being around her and it is happening fast and he's barely acknowledging it because why would he? who cares if something's wrong with HIM? who cares if HE'S getting sick? if his voice and his vision is glitching and distorting and he straight up blacked out once? he has his daughter back and she's all that matters to him. it's not like he ever cared enough to take care of himself, anyway.
my man is in danger. and the worst part is, he's perfectly content just sitting back and letting it happen, because everything's okay as long as he has her. he NEEDS to be pulled away from codeflippa but I don't think he could handle losing her again, in any capacity. he already started freaking out when he lost track of her. he was on-edge the whole stream and was paying much closer attention to the people around him than I think they realized. and I think even just being separated from her for a long period of time; even if he KNOWS she's safe; would be enough to break him. the straw that broke the camel's back yk.

Hey, for real? Can we stop using "biting" to describe what Wilbur did to Shelby? Because I think "assault" is a much better word. She explicitly revoked her consent, and then he hurt her more. Wilbur assaulted Shelby.
The problem isn't the biting. That's a neutral action that can be loving, can be gentle, can be consented to.
He fucking assaulted her. There are memes about it because it apparently seems childish and funny, and it's not. She asked to stop being hurt and he did not stop.

sometimes I feel like I want to hunt shitty influencers for sport when they post animal stuff. Clearly distressed animals or wild animals that shouldn’t be near untrained humans or animals THAT SHOULD NOT BE PETS kept as pets… animals in situations that are dangerous or unhealthy. people pretending that high maintenance pets are easy and fun. Fucking… i hate these people

requested by @lexkent: the scene in "Shattered" where Lana sees Lex on the ground in the stable sitting curled into himself, and she looks anguished to see him in such a state, and she's so kind and compassionate to him
+ bonus Lana, after literally almost dying:

Wyll breaking up with the player character if Ulder dies so Wyll must become the Duke makes me wanna throw up sobbing because he actually thinks that just because his father's first duty being to Baldur's Gate made him a Bad Father that Wyll himself will inevitably be a Bad Lover because surely no one could match love with duty if his father couldn't, unknowing he has more love in one hand than his father had in his entire body. fuck

eckhart and emerleigh finally got to moonrise towers and got Extremely Necessary Evil Disguises for the infiltration. no, neither of them remember how easily they were able to infiltrate the goblin camp without said disguises.

I'm having Yunmeng Shuangjie feelings I am losing it over the way these two idiots try to rationalize the decisions and emotions towards the other through duty and obligation.
Wei Wuxian attempts to rationalize the golden core transfer and his subsequent actions of secrecy and running away by trying to convince both himself and JC (and others) that he made those decisions out of duty, debt, and obligation: duty to JC, debt to Yunmeng Jiang, debt and obligation towards the Wen siblings. By doing so he hopes to mask the deep truth that his singular most important decision -- to transfer his own core to JC -- was done not out of duty, but out of love. If he admits to how love pushed him to try and fix JC, he would then have to grapple with the blatant truth that not only did the decision break the trust between himself and JC, but in fact did the opposite of fixing JC. The event only further breaks them apart. WWX refuses to acknowledge any feelings of regret he could possibly have about the golden core transfer -- either because did not understand how terrible living without a golden core could be, or because he knows that what he did to JC was agonizing -- by only accepting his actions as done by a servant for a master, as a disciple for his sect and sect leader.
Jiang Cheng also suffers from this rationalization. When WWX defects and later dies, JC attempts to reinforce his righteous anger and rage towards WWX by viewing his betrayal not as done by a close friend and brother, but as betrayal done by a sect member and first disciple. By publicly and internally deriding WWX as a traitor to Yunmeng Jiang, forgoing his duty and obligation to his sect leader and the sect that took him in, JC can delude himself into accepting the derision and gloating exalted by the rest of the cultivation world and reject the complex and often contradictory feelings of grief and loss he feels towards WWX that stem from the painful truth that WWX hurt him not because he was a trusted discple, but because he was a close confidante and an almost-brother. Such pitiful emotions are unacceptable for someone so hated as WWX. So, JC aligns his emotional turmoil with the rest of society by refusing to remember the whole truth of his relationship with WWX as not just a trusted disciple, but as a dear friend and an older brother. In doing so, JC's negative emotions are quite unfair (though in his defense it's not like JC knew the truth behind WWX's confounding actions) and also never allow JC any chance to actually come to terms with WWX's betrayal and painful downfall.
I think the best Yunmeng Shuangjie reconciliation stories are the ones where JC has to admit that his comtempt towards WWX during the 13 years that he was dead was unneccessarily unfair and allowed him no place to truly accept and grieve for the loss of his brother, and where WWX has to admit to himself the true reason for the golden core transfer and how he cannot run away from the reality of the pain such a decision caused both himself and his brother, and perhaps even admit that it wasn't really the right decision, if there even is a right decision for that scenario at all. I need JC to yell at WWX about how the whole golden core transfer just serves to prove that WWX never accepted himself as family to the Jiang siblings when JC and JYL both cared for him deeply as a brother, while WWX yells back at JC about how he could possibly dare to see JC as family when all he has done in the years since his resurrection was act as if WWX was nothing but a sect traitor and stranger not worthy of a truthful conversation.

Mike wakes up sobbing, and they are not his tears. They've been here before, though, a thousand times and more. He reaches to the bedside table, feeling around for the drawer, and the tub within.
Only once it is in hand does he roll over, lazily nudging his face into the back of Pac's neck.
He earns a gasp, and a shudder, but also Pac uncurling just enough to be handed the cream.
Pac holds it in shaking hands, Mike follows the spikes of pain from their bond as he slathers some onto his fingers, then sleepily massages it into aching wounds - amputation scars, knife scars, the barely healed cut on his stomach...
As he works the sobbing quietens - for him, and for Pac.
They fall back asleep with the pot still open, wounds soothed, and wake in the morning to it spilt on the bed. Every time they promise to put it back next time.
Every time they forget.
---
Pac wakes up sobbing, and they are not his tears. They've been here before, but not as often as people seem to think. He rolls over with a lazy arm, flopping it over Mike's side.
Only once he is certain he is not making things worse, Pac pulls Mike against him, and presses his face into Mike's hair.
He gains an extra sob, louder than the rest, before Mike turns in the bed and buries himself into Pac's chest.
Mike shudders with the cold, scrabbling along their bond in a desperate attempt for comfort. Pac pulls him closer in body and in mind, cradling him and whispering to him and trying to warm him up in every way he knows how.
Soon enough their tears begin to dry - still they cling to each other, and hold on.
They don't go back to sleep, not on nights like this, not when to let reality drift is to be alone once again. Every second they spend promising they're together, they're safe, it's okay.
Every time fate has made liars of them yet.
