Golden bamboo lemur (Hapalemur aureus)

Among the lesser-known lemurs are an entire genus specifically adapted to feed on bamboo and similar plants. The golden bamboo lemur lives in the highland rainforests of eastern Madagascar, eating the softer parts of plants. However, the soft new shoots of bamboo contain a surprisingly high amount of cyanide, and because of this, adult lemurs can eat what should be 12 times the lethal cyanide dose per day!

The European woodlands are a series of mostly bamboo forests in Central, Western, Southern and Northeastern Europe.

These bamboo species have developed fleshier fruits and more robust branches, in order to support macaque descendants and the bigger parrots that inhabit their canopies and disperse their seeds.

The bigger herbivores of these forests are the Elepharrhinids, usually smaller and furrier than their grassland counterparts, and the biggest of the running hares, that browse on the lower canopy and battle for mates with their four facial horns.

Other than macaques and parrots, some of the canopy’s most common herbivores are the Sciuromiridae, red squirrel descendants that reached the size of modern New World Monkeys. They aren’t as social, don’t have the same good eyesight, and are still more relying on hearing and smelling, still more similar to lemurs and early primates than to simiiforms.

They’re preyed upon by arboreal mustelids descended from martens, smaller cats, eagle sized kestrel descendants and scavenging kites.

The apex predator of these forests is the Fellimus cambiulus, a close relative to the grasslands’ Fellimus alexandrae, its bigger relative. It hunts the biggest forest herbivores, macaque and squirrel descendants, smaller carnivores and birds. It’s range extends to most of Europe, except for islands, the Fennoscandian peninsula, northern Russia and the tallest mountains, and into Asia, up to the eastern coast of the Caspian sea. Canids became pretty abundant predators too, with pack hunting golden jackals descendants being pretty widespread across the continent, and being capable of taking down prey much larger than themselves.

Many forests rise along the courses of rivers, which are too home to rich and diverse ecosystems. Many of the freshwater fish species diversified into various forms, like big predatory trouts and catfish, and paddlefish sturgeons. Semiaquatic vertebrates diversified too, with the invasive nutrias becoming bigger, and reaching the size of really large boars, and in some species becoming bigger than hippos.

Vermins became as big as otters, and aquatic birds diversified too, with Cetti’s warbler descendants establishing a family of stork like waders, the Ciconicettidae.

With the warmer climate crocodiles expanded into Europe, although they’re still limited by latitudes, and stop around Southern France, the Carpathians and the Alps.

WILD KRATTS. Season 3 Review!!!!!!!!!!

One sentence review (1 being the worst-10 being a masterpiece) Hope you enjoy :)

Hermit Crab Shell Exchange: WHY did Gormond call Chris "Green Pea" instead of "Green Grape"? However this episode have so many great moments to count. 9/10

When Fish Fly: I love the use of the "take a walk in my shoes" trope, it would have been cool if they stuck with the team switching roles until the very end but besides that this episode is iconic. See, finding creatures is like a piece of cake/10

Slider the Otter: How did Slider live that long? Cute episode but not the most memorable (sorry if you like this episode) 6/10

Mosquitoe Dragon: WHY Ya Hitting yourself?! Also not a bad invention by Zach completely backfired though. 7/10

Search for the Florida Panther: Wholesome in every which way, I loved the scene where Martin makes Chris go out and search for food, the live action part is also one of my favorites. 9/10

Osprey: I'm probably a bit bias but this episode is Amazing, fricking Jimmy loosing stuff is hilarious and not only do they make an episode of an animal that's the Mascot of my favorite football team ( though it goes by the nickname) they realeased it the year they won the superbowl and to make it even more amazing...Green and Blue are the team colors!!! 10/10 ( GO HAWKS 💙💚) ahem...anyways.

Bandito the Black Footed Ferret: Getting a bit of name dejavu and Martin not learning his lesson from the Googly Eye: The Night Guru episode tsk tsk tsk, good episode though. 8/10

Where the Bison Roam: The talking Bison are cursed, and they switched who was Lewis and who was Clark midway through the episode, a little rough around the edges but it's still good 8/10

Crocogator Contest: Very informative still remember the difference between an Alligator and a Crocodile because of this episode also poor Jimmy. 7/10

The Amazing Creature Race: Team Fastfeet all the way babbbbbyyyyyy!!! Though we were cheated out of a Chrizelle moment, oh well 6/10.

Prarie Who: Just a fun episode, but what in the creature world was Koki doing? Also all those crash landings would have killed them except for Jimmy. 9 Yips/10

Mystery on the Prarie: I've been impaled the episode, poor Jimmy, Bush Chris needs to return and where is Moo after this episode? (Spoilers Moo wasn't full grown in the Christmas special) 8/10

Chameleons on Target: Bruh why was Aviva blaming the Kratt Brothers for that whole ring chip thing? The way they hid was funny. 7/10

Opossum in my Pocket: Gormond commits attempted murder on the Kratt Brothers. 8/10

Fossa Palooza: Best mothers day episode EVER, we saw Mama Kratt and their old neighborhood? 10/10

Mini Madagascar: 0_0 why they make the mouse lemur scary though. 7/10

Aye Aye: I love the pirate theme and why do Jimmy be lazy (I get it its a personality trait of his but still) but I mean Aviva could have done it also Aghhh. 7/10

Lemur Legs: Best episode opening in my opinion, they should have named one of the lemurs Zaboo instead of Bob but it was still funny. That sarcastic clap the WK crew did was also great 10/10

Under the Frozen Pond: Child endangerment and the WK team not playing fair at Hockey because they were loosing (but they were there first soooo) 7/10

Lemur Skink Fight: Tried a Tameron fruit before, it wasn't that great, unlike this episode, Also this was one of Donita's worse ideas she should stick to clothing. 8/10

Golden Bamboo Lemur: The dress looked better without the lemur, Why doesn't Donita utilize the hypnosis technology more often and I can't believe the Kratt Bros almost forgot Koki and Jimmy, Not cool man. 7/10

Tenric Treasure Hunt: Obi-Wan Kratt is big sad for loosing his Brother to the River. 8/10

Praying Mantis: I love this episode! Props to the animators for changing the "What if" animation to fit the live action bit, but what was up with that toy Monkey, still gives me the hebijibbies. 10/10

Capture the Fishmoblie: Technically not cheating if Aviva just handed it to them. 7/10

Back in Creature Time: THEY NEED TO MAKE A SEQUEL!!! Zach wanting to make the Kratt Brothers extinct is very dark I love it, also by changing where Great Grand daddy Gormond landed, potentially be a risk to whether or not Gormond would still exist? Also MARTIN WHY YOU SMUGGLING A TASMANIAN TIGER?!?! STOP. 10/10

Great season but I feel like after this season the writing changed...

Willie appreciation post

Willie, the golden bamboo lemur who appeared in the Madagascar movie and is a main side character in All Hail king Julien. The one who screams "we're all gonna die" and "what the heck man" I want to show n tell why he is amazing to me. This is not a theory. I will post theories on him later.

First of all my boo, Willie is just beautiful gorgeous. Just look at him awwwwwww

Willie is a great dancer! Check it out I made this edit. That's a cool dance he's doing and I wish they showed him dancing often.

Willie tends to be very caring. He is seen with persons who are discarded or rejected by others. Nurse phantom lives with Dr. S and they naturally have a friendship but outside their hospital, Nurse phantom does not have friends except kj who is you know...and so in the episode "revenge of the prom", Willie is seen pulling Rob in a stretcher till the end and he's happy.

Willie is nicely dressed for prom but he chose to help Rob participate in the event. Im sure that girls will be more than willing to dance with Willie. He's a lady charmer and as you can see here, in the cruise and in club moist. In two different episodes he is with different lemur ladies. And oh that first girl is completely into him, I can tell. Maybe that night he didn't have other plans so he helped Rob. Still, I don't think anyone would have done that except Willie.

In exiled Willie picked up Mort and that was so cute. Mort was thrown into the prison and Willie picked him up and held him close to his chest. Who else would have done that.

He's the captain of S. S pee pee pants. It's not highlighted much though but I think it's Amazing and I think the author deliberately forgot to show king Julien exclaiming "we have a navy?" that's cool. Willie representing the navy,

He's had character development! In this episode he looked so heroic. He's always been shown as a coward and when he got the gun he lemured Up, vowing to protect what he owns.

Willie is a great supporter of King Julien. When king Julien arrives with some new fancy idea the whole kingdom should try, Willie supports him enthusiastically.

I'd like to talk about Willie's death phobia and panic triggering cries in another post. King Julien doesn't like Willie much probably due to this but there was this one time he liked Willie's joke though it did not make anyone else laugh. In the later seasons kj 13 goes on blaming Willie for everything and calls him guy that no one likes.

Yeah he gets blamed often.

Interesting fact, each lemur will eat what would be almost 12 times a lethal dose of cyanide (found in the bamboo) for most other animals. The golden bamboo lemurs' numbers are in decline with less than 1000 individuals remaining. Cool Facts- The golden bamboo lemur loves itself some bamboo. Being the only part of its diet, this lemur eats 500 grams of bamboo a day, far surpassing the lethal dose of cyanide for a human. Being one of the rarest lemurs on Madagascar, the golden bamboo lemur’s life hangs on by a thread. Due to the creation of Ranomafana National Park, conservation is working hard to prevent the last bamboo forests from disappearing. Due to agriculture, deforestation, and overharvesting of bamboo, conservationists are doing the best they can to prevent this species from going extinct.

Alright so this is Anu and Mano.

Anu is Ajii's familiar a golden bamboo lemur that loves to pull pranks with Ajii. As a human they would be 6'3, dark skinned, with blonde hair and very mischievous. They dress similar to Ajii and love climbing trees, eating rice balls and bamboo with a chili sauce and also messing with Mano. They would be about 25 years of age. Would cuddle a lot with Faust. They like the cuddles. Helps ajii out a lot with getting ingredients or spying on someone. Would be Ajii's right-hand in assassination.

Mano is Ra's familiar, a 17ft crocodile that protects her at all cost. Very affectionate with her and thats it. Mano would be a middle aged man though if he was human, dark skinned with a white beard and a bald head, slits for eyes. Yes. Very strong! Very built. Imagine how the baker might look. Kind of that body type. Verry stone faced, doesnt play games, loves water, doesnt like people much. Would probably get along with Pepi, Chandra, Faust and Inanna. He likes Nadia enough not to snap at her. Amazing guy, doesnt speak much.

Timeline of Wild Kratts

Almost half a year ago, I posted a reddit in which I delved into the full timeline of Wild Kratts. Due to PBS Kids airing episodes out of order, episodes being ordered by production code on Wikipedia and the wiki, as well as chronological inconsistencies that have plagued the show, I have gone on a quest to track down the episode's true orders based on not just production code & episode airing, but on chronological date so I can crack the true timeline of Wild Kratts: Now I will update this when Season 7 comes out. My plan is to update this until the series finale so that we know the entire timeline of the series from start to finish, and yes, the movie will be involved in the timeline (until anything says otherwise, the upcoming movie is canon): Also warning, this took me almost 2 months to make so I might've gotten something wrong. There's no way in hell that I didn't.

I'm posting the link here because I'm scared that Tumblr won't let me physically upload this post by copy/paste so I'll give you the run-down.

Season 1:

The timeline begins with Polar Bears Don't Dance, evident in how the Creature Power Suits themselves have to be physically modified for them to activate, also fitting in how it was the first WK thing to ever exist. Mystery of the Squirmy Wormy comes after that as we see the Walrus Suit under repairs, which I believe is after it malfunctioned in the pilot. After that, we get Mom of a Croc, which takes place after an unknown adventure where the Kratts obtain the Gharial Disc for their Creature Power Suits. MoaC can't take place after Kerhonk as Chris already has a Crocodile Suit there. Season 1 takes place before S2, meaning the power disc holders likely do not exist yet.

Quillber's Birthday Present marks the end of S1, not Raptor Roundup, as it aired after that episode.

Season 2:

The Coral Reef arc begins with Blowfish Blowout and likely ends at Tortuga Tune Up.

The Central America arc starts with Bugs or Monkeys and ends with To Touch a Hummingbird.

The Sonoran Desert arc starts with Rattlesnake Crystal and ends with Desert Elves.

Season 3:

The Swamp Things arc starts with Osprey, and ends with Opossum in My Pocket.

The prairie arc starts with Where the Bison Roam, and ends with Mystery on the Prarie.

Back in Creature Time, whilst made to be the S3 finale, was not the last episode of the season to air. The 2nd half of the Madagascar arc contained the last several episodes of the season. The actual S3 finale was "Foosa Palooza" or "Mini Madagascar." However, in Golden Bamboo Lemur, it's said that it's their final adventure, meaning that episode has to be the S3 finale for reasons we've established.

Season 4:

The China arc begins with Panda Power Up, is broken by Snowy Owl Invasion, continues with Red Panda Rescue, and ends with Pangolin Rescue.

Baby Tooth & Kid Musky & Musk Ox Mania are a duology:

A Creature Christmas comes in very late around the timeline due to multiple creature powers and baby animals introduced in other episodes. However, it can't come after Liturgusa Krattorum because A Creature Christmas treats the villains' team-up like a special occurrence and this episode treats it like a casualty.

Season 5:

The India arc begins with Temple of the Tigers and ends with Elephant Brains.

The Europe arc involves Cheeks the Hamster & Fire Salamander.

Alaska: Hero's Journey has to take place after The 4th Bald Eagle due to the existence of the Bald Eagle Power Suit.

Season 6:

In Search of the Easter Bunny would have to be at the start of Season 6 because that's when the Jackrabbit Power Suit is invented and used later on.

The Amazon arc begins with Mystery of the Mini Monkey Models and ends with Parrot Power.

The Wild Kratts timeline, as we know it, begins at Polar Bears Don't Dance, and pauses at Cats & Dogs.

To quote Danny Rebus from The Adventures of The Electric Company on Prankster Planet -
