bee that ask gave me brainworms. so. you know how gem was established in the empires/hermitcraft crossover to cross between those two dimensions. in the magical girl scar universe, something happens to give gem universe crossing abilities. take this in what direction you will-- does she cross into an apocalyptic world and drag team scar with her, showing them the consequences of their failure? does she find some vital piece of info through this? just gets yanked for no reason inconveniently?

...see i ALREADY TALKED ABOUT my concepts for the two dubiously-canon movies but what you're describing here sounds like SUCH a good take for like, a dubiously-canon movie or like, side-series. like that's SUCH a cool movie/omake concept of "person gains the power to hop universes, accidentally drags team scar with her, and now they're in the topsy-turvy universe where they meet alternate versions of themselves and have to figure out how to get home while also fighting... themselves?".

like. imagine. premise: spirit attack near gem's, in her attempt to help she triggers, as powered by the spirit unintentionally, a gift that slides team scar into another universe. but this is a weird universe! in this universe, team scar are actually the BAD GUYS, using their powers for EVIL! oh no! now if they want to get home they have to figure out where gem went, prevent themselves from catching onto themselves, and maybe even are forced to work with the shadow organization? that, or the mysterious blackbird of this universe, who, even in a world where team scar is evil, appears to be a maverick of her own with her own agenda...

there's a bunch of classic identity shenanigans where like, scar interacts with people who only know Evil Him and are nice to them and stuff and everyone's confused, or like, the joke is that cub and evil cub are basically impossible to tell apart and scar and bdubs are offended on his behalf but like, don't worry about it guys, cub's chill with that. and mirror blackbird (grian) i think is a conflicted figure in this universe too who ultimately helps our heroes escape.

meanwhile, the poor lost civilian gem is having an ADVENTURE. she gets rescued by her friend pearl, who... works for the shadow organization? and we get "beleaguered good guy shadow organization" shenanigans on gem's end as they try to figure out how she swapped with THEIR gem and how to fix that before either of them get hurt.

just... excellent one-off movie premise right here.

Impulse learned long ago that questioning things made life a bit boring.

Well, a lot boring. So when he saw a compass with a time on it, he followed the direction without a thought.

When he saw other Hermits, he didn't try to understand what was going on.

Sure, it was strange, but nothing out of the ordinary. Just another day. Perhaps another adventure.

When Grian told them about the portal, it did make him a bit worried, but again, nothing out of the ordinary.

Maybe he should have been worried. Maybe he should have questioned it more, but then that would have made him bored. He wouldn't go through the portal, and he would've missed out on fun.

The world on the other side of the portal was pretty, it was nice.

Pretty buildings, strange people.

Why was she here?

What did he get himself into?

"Who is that!" He knew that voice.

And he knew she recognized him the moment she saw him.

He knew what she wanted to ask, but she bit her tongue as another person, no a goblin approached.

"Where am I? What is this place!" He acted scared, confused. After all, he was a good actor, you had to be if you lived as long as he had.

The glare she threw his way as the goblin turned around, talking about one thing or another was certainly something one should fear.

The lecture that she was certainly going to give him later was something he was not looking forward to was going to be annoying, but he continued, because what is life without questions, if not fun.

GUYS GUYS GUYS GUYS i got an idea for a new au 😅 BUT HEY i believe it's ,y first actual Life Series AU, and i called it: nth life_

The usual team, no new characters, no lizzie and mumbo (sorry lizzie and mumbo), they get 3 lives (tho that could be changed) and their goal is... to survive in the void. (inspired by this video lololol)

Initially i wanted them to have some time on the surface, they they have to go down and survive in the void for as long as they can. i struggled to imagine how that would go, so i uh... accidentally might've made a Made in Abyss crossover 😅

So, each session, the guys go down lower and lower in the world. first it's just caves, then it's the deep dark, then they start going deeper and deeper... the nether and the end are also layers, they can't just go there whenever they want. And i want to add some cool mc mods in there to spice things up (mostly so layers are cool and different, but also mods that let them find or make food where there isn't any in vanilla)

Now, i don't want to copy Made in Abyss in that going back to the upper levels has more negative effects the lower you go, but i do want some sort of drawback to doing so. I think the lower levels could be opened up gradually, so nobody rushes, and the lower you go, the better materials and equipment you can get, so players are discouraged from staying in one place for too long, and setting up permanent bases IS NOT ALLOWED. You do need materials from every level to survive the void though.

Void really fucks with people's heads. The closer they are to it, the more paranoid and anxios they become. Some wil also become aggressive, have hallucinations or derealization, thinking they're in previous season or in a different series bringing up things that didn't happen and people that aren't there (Grian searching for Mumbo? Etho paranoid that Gem is out to get him? Pearl and Cleo feeling like Lizzie and Gem respectively possess them?)

With that, i think it could start out silly,similar to how the normal series usually goes, but, as theygo down, it gets more serious in tone and even steps into the horror category. that could be neat.

I either don't want watchers there at all, or have a non-obvious interpretation from fanon? Something like in OFF, DDLC or Undertale, where the player is a separate character in the story, but here it's the reader. Idk yet if the reader will be able to make choices or not. Could intepret watchers in some fun way, but only if it adds something to the story. They don't need to be there and they're only canon to Martyn anyway im pretty sure

I guess the reader could make a choice of whose story to follow, mirroring how you choose POV's when you're watching the actual series. Like, Martyn and Cleo are doing something, and there's Joel and Scar somewhere else at the same time, and you choose who to watch. Could also add replayability/rereadbility (is that a word??)

I imagine the whole thing as a text adventure, with cryptic vibes like "breaking the 4th wall/they know they're in a game" and "liminal space/backrooms". there could also be puzzles for the audience to solve to make it more engaging and immersive :)

Maybe i could start out by deciding who teams up with who. I don't want to pair up people who i actually want to pair up, cuz that could make me focus solely on them (looks at clethubs), but i still want the teams to go well together and have fun dynamics.

Some brainstorms from 1 am me:

For Jimmy, i want him to team with someone as stupid+silly+goofy like himself. Current options include: BigB, Martyn, Skizz (i might go w him) and Ren. Any combination of them could also work.

The team i'm 100% decided on is... Etho, Pearl and Cleo. Girlbosses + a wet rag

Joel and Bdubs would be suuuuper fun. Tango, Joel and Bdubs? Do i want a team that just gonna yell at eahc other all the time? Perhaps yes,

But Scott and Bdubs... sounds chaotic.

I want Grian with Impulse!!

Scar and Ren are left? Scar and Joel could be a good combo.

Aaaand that's everything for now. It's not an au i believe i can work on by myself though. as much as i like this concept, it feels like one of those that i will abandon very quickly, especially seeing as i have other au's i'd like to work on... but i want to at least do a lil bit on this one!! so uh... if anyone gets the vision and wants to collab... i invite u :D

More small fic ideas:

Toy Jimmy but he’s not a rag doll toy but instead is made of porcelain. His body is okay with respawns but after rapid and draining respawns can cause paint to fade and cracks forming. He can remove body parts but they can’t move if they’re a meter around from him. Set before Fwhip is fired from his deputy job, Joel taunts Jimmy in front of the jail. Just before he flys off, Joel shoots an arrow straight into Jimmy’s face. Fwhip arrives with hurt and comfort. Jimmy is missing part of his left eye and now angst.

Empires season 1 Joel headcanon: he’s made out of magical terracotta. He has to form himself out of clay, making hundreds of clay copies of himself. Joel is very breakable and every time he respawns he respawns into one of the clones. After the destruction of all of the empires and Lizzie, the love of his life, disappearing, Joel over the years couldn’t bring himself to make clay sculptures of himself. Perhaps he made art of over emperors? Trying to remember the faces of old friends, enemies, and love. Maybe that’s how King Joel of Mezlia died of a broken heart?

Toy!Jimmy turning everyone into toys but unlike him, they can’t move or speak. Bonus angst, he leaves Tango for last.

Phil gets turn into a teenager without any memories after that age, no wings and no immortality. It’s up to bench trio to stop him from accidentally killing himself. Hilarity ensures.

After double life, scar and grian’s sound based injuries carry over back to hermitcraft. Do they get their hearing back from the glitch or learn to live life without sound.

Sbi family au but Tommy and Tubbo swap places. So possible twinduo or techno is just a family friend/uncle friend, Wilbur is Phil and Kristen’s kid, Tubbo was found by Wilbur and raised by him via brother/brother friendship while Tommy was this random kid they found on the side of the road. Tubbo was also childhood friends with Eryn. Basically how would the story go if the two swapped places? How did they develop and what’s their friendships towards other people? Would Tommy had idolised Schlatt or stood up against him more in the manburg arc? What’s Tubbo’s relationship with dream wand what object or objects does Dream have control over him? How does bench trio work and the aftermath of L’Manburg blowing up a second time?

An au where Eret never became king again. He helps to repair damaged relationships and helps to build a new bakery with Niki for Niki. Maybe friendship drama because hey niki, trying to kill Tommy won’t solve anything, lets just bake our feelings into bread and then eat said bread. I dunno maybe a pirate adventure with puffy as well for good measures.

With the empires x hermitcraft crossover, what if while most of the hermits are stuck over in empires, there’s a sudden arrival of a bunch of new people on hermitcraft; Dream smp members. There are too many nations being built up… Just imagine the hermits coming back and Xb and Beef talk about the wars and nations that happened with these new guests.

I want a villain arc for Jimmy so an au where he becomes a new super secret bandit but nobody knows it’s him would be brilliant. Maybe he tries to frame Joey for crimes, especially after a big one. But it turns out he had an alibi so Joey isn’t thieving around for once or he’s stealing smaller things. And Joey wouldn’t blow up parts of peoples empires or kill them a bunch. One day Joel demands that the bandit be found as all of the gold from his empire went missing overnight. During a meeting between the empires it’s revealed to be Jimmy all along who then proceeds to flee via a tnt distraction. Tumbler town is now in lockdown with Jimmy still ruling.

Double life but it’s body swap instead. So tango <-> Jimmy, Grian <-> Scar and so on.

Werewolf!Ren finds out that both sun god bdubs and princess of dawn gem are also werewolves. The whole sleeping through the night is so they don’t have to face transforming because blah blah blah bad experiences or scared. Just, more werewolf au’s.

Vampire Sbi but Phil is the only human and the boys use him to get stuff. Like yes Wilbur and techno were turned in their early-mid twenties but sometimes you gotta use a human to get stuff. Along with Tommy being turned at 16 can’t buy certain things so PHILLLLLLL.

Everyone but one person on every server are hybrids, gods or eldritch horrors. Some picks: Human Tubbo or Tommy or both, Human Keralis and finally human Pix or Jimmy.

Owen doesn’t get turned back into a Llama but Scott does.

Sculk possessed!Cubfan infects Katherine so there��s nature wives angst.

Vex!Scar trying to slap sculk!Cub back to his senses because you can only be possessed by one thing and it has to be as a duo!

Crack fic where Joel gets turned into a toy for a day because karma or something.

More god and deities chill out on the empires server. Aka, Kristen the Goddess of death.

Deity!Elaina propaganda because fuck you I heard she likes space so she is a god now. Also it would be funny for c!Eret to have more god connections like foolish and herobrine.

If the empires and hermitcraft crossover really happens, then im really happy that the hermits seem to be going hard on the themes of community and having fun after what theyve been through this season

Like doc had some guests earlier with the mojang developers, scar and the hermits are organizing to have the empires people come over, so many of them have been working on passion projects and real life adventures (iskall on VH, mumbo and grian traveling, etc etc) or focusing on becoming better at their craft (bdubs with his shading magic, ren really focusing on storytelling!!) and its just really nice to see after the community as a whole has felt some lost

Its like… the mc fandom has gone through sort of an identity crisis recently of what it means to be apart of the MCYT community, with new ccs bringing different energies and fans to the space, different play styles becoming popular, etc., yet the hermits answer that question with a resounding: its about having fun and making friends. Its about talking to strangers and trying out new games youre not good at. Its about sharing the community. Here we’ll show you.

I feel like this is very niche but I have not stopped thinking about a scarian au based on the Chinese novel/show mo dao zu shi or The Untamed on Netflix Very specific plot beats in that series give me such intense scarian vibes its not funny.

If you’ve never heard of it essentially its set in a fantastical ancient China where there are five different clans (3rd life factions anyone?) where our main character is a goofy and charming but very clever and talented at this worlds magic called cultivation. (Scar) He meets our secondary main character (grian) who immediately dislikes him as the mc is very much a troublemaker and disrupts his daily life. Shenanigans happen and their forced together on an adventure where they resolve to save the rest of the clans from the one evil clan thats trying to take over..

More shenanigans and TRAUMA happen and grian falls in love w scar but scar accidentally invents a dark magic that starts corrupting his mind causing him to antagonize all the clans and accidentally kills a lot of people (hes just a silly guy) grian tries to save him from himself but scar is too far gone and ends up dying by falling of a cliff. Like ten years later scar is ressurected through a sacrifice ritual and finds grian again and has to deal with the world that has changed while he was dead and uncover an murder mystery and conspiracy and lots of things happen in that series but the gist of it is:

3rd life Scarian have like WAYY too many parallels with that series and it gives me massive brainrot

Ex: when scar dies in third life by falling off the cliff and the mc of mdzs dying by falling off a cliff

There’s a very specific scene where mdzs main character says to the second mc “if I am doomed to die, I’d want to be killed by you” AND I WAS LIKE HOLY CRAP THIRD LIFE SCAR TELLING GRIAN HE CAN SLAY HIM AND TAKE THE ENCHANTER I MMM SOOO

I feel like no one else has thus very niche crossover of interests but I’ve been brain rotting over this concept for at least two months

(btw the mc of mdzs dying isn’t like a spoiler or anything for anyone interested its the first sentence of the show)

But yeah scarian tragic and in live soulmates w magic powers + murder mystery + shenanigans + trying to prove scar is a good person to people brainrot I have not stopped thinking abt this for Weeks

RiV - FNAF where I switched Michael and Vanny from Help Wanted onwards, but Michael gets thrown into HW and ends up sorta-possessing Ness. Swap - FNAF Roleswap Au. SAU - Still Alive Universe, these will just be deleted scenes and such for the But I'm Still Alive series. WW - MCYT hero/villain Au. Week 27 Transcript

Extra extra, read all about it! Welcome to the Empire’s Recap, and today we will be going over the chaos and drama of our (somewhat) respected rulers!

This week is the end of something special to us all… no, not 2022! The crossover! But first we must go back in time a bit, to when the Emperor's first crossed over to Hermitcraft.

Joey

Avast! Fashionably late, Pirate Joe is finally showing his side of the Battle of Fort Riffless, though I’m not sure he properly understood the Battle part. He was sad to watch his new crew leave with hardly a second thought, and the missile shot at Grumbot could’ve blown up his new concrete maker!

Thankfully, it didn’t, and the open Rift provided a…convenient opportunity. Miss Shelby was having some trouble deciding whether to go through the portal or not, and well. Joey “helped”.

With most of Empires to himself now, Pirate Joe did what pirates do best: raid! He cleaned out Hermitopia of all its valuables, storing them in a secret room inside of his secret basement with greedy glee. They don’t need them anymore!

But if the other Emperors were going to be gone for a while. Well.

It’s pranking time. And Joey knows just who deserves a little pranking. Someone who was definitely on the other side of the portal.

Joey’s first visit to Evermoore in a while gives him a chance to marvel at the massive frog Shelby left behind - would she notice him missing?

Well, hopefully she will notice the change in her storage. A little pirate “magic” has replaced all of her valuable and important items with pieces of coal!

It even hit her shop - good luck making back the diamonds with no potion ingredients, miss Witch!

But what’s even more piratey than stealing treasure?

Burying it with a treasure map, of course! And Joey chooses Dawn as his X-marks-the-spot; if Shelby thinks it was Gem who stole her things, the two of them can fight over it, and that’s a show he wants to see!

Shelby

The missing emperors aren’t all that missing, and their arrival onto the Hermitcraft server is heralded by chaos, shown by the many ways people got out of Grian’s very inaccessible rift cave. One of those methods is death - demonstrated quite nicely by Shelby Shubble.

Rescue Squad Scar shows up with an elytra and some teleportation cookies, and then Shelby meets up with Oli so he can show her the Christmas village everyone is building in!

New King Sausage is working at the village and Shelby gets herself appointed as Court Magician, and Oli as Court Jester, of course. Cub visits for some fun and Shelby gets a bootleg wand for while she’s on Hermitcraft.

[SHUBBLE] Ok but whenever anyone wants a potion to do something like, crazy and funky, I do it for free!

[SAUSAGE] She turned me into a zombie one time!

[SHUBBLE] Yeah that was free!

[SAUSAGE] Yep! I didn’t pay anything for that one!

[SHUBBLE] And I’d do it again for free too!

[NARRATOR] Nothing wrong with that!

Sausage leads Shelby on an adventure for nether wood, with a perfectly normal reaction to their nether hub, because honestly? The hermits are actually insane

[SHUBBLE] These people are rich rich.

[SAUSAGE] Yeah these are real nether stars, each one of these is a nether star. That’s one wither kill per star, and they’re everywhere. Yeah mhm.

[SHUBBLE] Man, I’m feeling, uh, very inadequate all of a sudden.

[SAUSAGE] Yeah, these guys are built differently, it’s ok, we can’t all…

[NARRATOR] Jevin visits their humble abode with some Christmas hats, really taking on the role of Santa.

She builds her home in the Christmas village, but she doesn’t get to live in it for long when Oli comes by yelling about the rift closing!

A final goodbye to the Hermits and Shelby arrives back in empires with Tortoise back on her head. She travels home through a village where she comes across her own wanted poster.

At least she’s worth quite a lot?

Scott

Scott’s feeling a bit homesick, and with the rift shrinking day by day it’s probably time to check out and head back home.

In return for Scars hospitality while Scott’s been on Hermitcraft, Scott does some “community service” around Scarland, fixing a few things that were broken and adding in a few hidden lights to make the place more Scar Safe.

Showcasing his love for cats, he builds Jellie a cat tree in the hotel! She’s a hard worker, she deserves a gift as well.

Since Scott can’t light up the whole park with hidden lighting, the next best thing is a security force - that answers to Jellie, of course.

The last, final, best gift - if you’re a little bit of a narcissist - is Scott leaving statues of himself around the apartment.

Scarland will forever have a touch of Scott Smajor when Scott heads home…

Which he has to do quickly, as when he turns up at the rift it has shrunk quite drastically and is now just one block. He leaves a note and heads through, to the other side of the rift.

A wander through the abandoned Hermitopia yields some goodies, and when he checks his Llama outpost, Bdubs has left him his Secret Santa!

But he can’t be wandering about forever, so back to Chromia he goes! It looks a little more orange than when he left it, and to say his reaction is dramatic would be understating it.

[SCOTT] Chromia, a place to dye for! Lets go home. Home sweet--- WHAT—

fWhip

[NARRATOR] With fWhip still on the Hermitcraft server, we discover that Mr. Cuddles still owns fWhip’s apartment in Scarland before heading over to the Holiday Village.

The Holiday Village being the Empires crew’s home away from home and all, fWhip needed a tour. During this tour, fWhip hands out presents from Scarland which are all the blocks that accidentally lagged into his inventory. Sausage also continuously tries to get fWhip to remember his lore life back on Empires but fails, even with some odd-looking ears.

fWhip later checks in on the impending closure of the rift where he discovers it is definitely time to go locate where Sniff and Gary disappeared to. Sniff is the first to be successfully located, closely followed by Gary. With both Sniff and Gary back home, fWhip follows them through, where he finally remembers his life as a goblin.

Back in the Goblands, Sniff is reunited with his brother, Snort and Gary is escorted to temporary housing. fWhip decides that if Gary is to remain in the Goblands, there needed to be a hospital for Gary. Our goblin king goes scavenging for materials in the old Hermits’ home away from home for this hospital. A frog doctor is hired for the new Gobland facility. Thus, Gary is moved into the back-alley hospital in Gobland to heal before officially returning to Animalia.

Sausage

Mythical Sausage spends his Christmas break with many people. Starting off with his wood Papi Keralis, he shows Sausage the mini Sanctuary down below, decorating the new wood farm. After that, Sausage helps his thunder daddy decorate the new tree in the Christmas area. With the new balls he adds, it looks fantastic.

Pearl takes a tour around his new house, which fits her theme very well. With news of the Rift shrinking, Sausage introduces his new child Sunny.

Speaking of which, once both members of Hermitcraft and Empires congregate around the Rift, Pearl and Sausage have a small moment aside from the rest. They talk and are both thrown back into memories.

Sausage remembers the tragedy that is the season one finale. Pearl dies in his arms, so he's filled with the need to get her back.

[SAUSAGE] The days turn to weeks. The weeks turn to months. And the months turn to years. Pearl could never be saved. Now I’m just an old man, defeated, but something interesting happened…

[NARRATOR] After travelling the multiverse, he meets Saint Pearl as an old man, who throws him into Afterlife as a way to relax. After dying, he ascends back to heaven, from which he takes a nap and is thrown into Empires season two, where we are now.

Having had his vision, Sausage jumps through the portal with a final wave. It's clearly not the end for this man, it’s a beginning.
