what made you start shipping byler? and what was the final piece of proof for you that convinced you it was endgame?

AHHH okay this so-

I actually first started shipping byler when season 3 released because of the rain fight. Like when I first saw that scene I fully believed Mike and Will were gonna end up together- like it made so much sense to me. He just broke up with El and he just realised that hes hurting Will and it would make sense for Mike to have a sorta want vs need arc (wants El but needs Will).

But then like they didn’t address the rain fight at all, and El and Mike got back together so I fully thought I was being queerbaited 😭. I WAS SO AFFECTED BY PAST QUEERBAITING (Klance) I didn’t even notice HOW GAY MIKE AND WILL WERE IN THE FINAL SCENE—

And then I sorta forgot about it (aka repressed) until season 4- and I started shipping again after the bedroom scene.

And the final piece of proof….hmmm- it wasn’t actually proof. Because I saw a lot of really solid evidence byler was gonna happen but I still couldn’t believe it. I don’t know a part of me just couldn’t be convinced. It wasn’t until I rewatched the whole series with a more analytical byler lens that I started to notice how special and romantic their scenes are— and I think that’s what fully convinced me.

But yeah! How about you? What made you start shipping them/convinced you?
