Sometimes I really want to read a short summary of what to expect from a game… and thankfully people can also submit their summaries of games they played and help me (and others) find games that cater to their interests!

what to expect from HAND OF FATE
Hybrid game that seems to be in-between a deck-building game and an action RPG-like game and a rogue-like game. I know, it’s weird.
World based on Dragons and Dungeons-like lore: lizardmen, ratmen, elves, goblins, undead, etc. That kind of stuff.
Your items reset in every new session. This means, after every boss, you have basic items once again, but stronger cards in your deck (which were won in the previous encounter). New cards into your deck mean more bonuses and items you can use in your next session.
Role game components by using cards instead of dice. Luck plays a strong role in this game.
Boss-encounter game style.
You cannot customise the main character: a warrior called Kalla. In the second game you can.
The Dealer is the only one voiced. Neither the narrator of the cards nor the chars in the encounters are voiced.
——- Plot? ——-
You, a warrior called Kallas, don’t remember who you are or why you are in front of a stranger called The Dealer, fighting for your life in a card game with him. You need to kill the whole court of bosses that this somber figure has crafted and put an end to this game by defeating him.
——- Gameplay? ——-
deck-building game in which you only pick cards spread on the table. Each card has a role in your story and, depending on how you deal with the events, consequences at the end of the level can be translated into rewards or curses that you keep along the whole session until you die or kill the boss. The role component is strong here when it comes to luck leading the story. When you pick a boss or an enemy card, you are teleported to a zone where you fight using keyboard and mouse. There are some few cards that will teleport you to extremely easy mazes with traps that you must resolve in order to win. Camera is a bit odd in these parts of the game.
——- Characters? ——-
Mainly you and The Dealer (this stranger who plays with you). We can add too all those bosses you fight against, since each of them has a light lore you can read in the cards or listen in The Dealer’s remarks.
——- LGBT? ——-
None.
——- Sadness level? ——-
None. There is a lot of frustration and death if you have bad luck picking your cards. “The tyranny of the die.” That’s where most sadness comes from.
——- Happy ending? Deaths? ——-
The standard ending of defeating The Dealer.

CHAPTER SEVENTEEN ; 1/3
It was like her every nerve was suddenly on fire.
TRANSCRIPT:
[a clock chimes nearby, ringing out twelve times]
magdalena: [sighs]
celeste: Come in, your majesty… Come in.
. . .
c: I wondered when you would return. Waiting for the Emperor to retire to his quarters, perhaps?
m: No… I-I could not sleep. I needed to see… [gulps] I needed to be certain that Prince Luca was still breathing.
c: That does not surprise me. It is only natural for a fading Seam to cause restlessness.
m: What… What exactly do you mean?
c: Were you not aware…? You and the Prince have a Seam, your majesty. A bond that has not existed in over a thousand years.
m: …I do not think I heard you correctly. Prince Luca and I have… a Seam?
c: [nods] Mm. As it has been over a millennia since my old eyes have seen it, I was uncertain until you appeared outside the door moments ago.
m: But how did you know I was there?
c: The Seam appeared again. Flickering, as it was attempting to connect through solid wood, but there.
m: Lady Celeste, please explain.
c: I believe it would be much simpler to show you, your majesty. Allow me.
m: [gasps]

clone wars era obi-wan funniest guy ever bc "inside, he still feels like a padawan" from the rots novel and "oh, so you have kenobi's arrogance" from maul's fight w ahsoka are both lines that i think not only apply to him but describe him very well even tho they seem like they contradict one another . and basically the way i see it, around his loved ones (esp anakin) he feels like he's not done enough bc of how the loss of ppl hes cares about weighs on him (qui-gon, and later w satine). the "i think i may not be good enough" mindset is bc he thinks he's failed before and will fail again
but around his enemies he's a little bastard who can and will pour salt in the wound over how he cut off your legs. snark man central. he'll be disarmed and beaten up yet still find it within his loving heart to make fun of you. maybe a bit of it is a front but also i think he does have a genuine bit of ego to him in the specific regard of "i am a skilled duelist and i know this" and you can see it shine through the best around ventress, maul, and grievous
basically what im trying to say is that obi-wan can be a bit overconfident in his own abilities when he fights but he's the complete opposite when it comes to being a teacher and a friend and how best he can meet the expectations of the ppl he cares about
