Some screenshots from Kitten Lady's 2019 video titled "I Went KITTEN SHOPPING!" in which they discuss the Herb Garden kittens who had to be kept separate because they were sucking on each other. These kittens were without a mama cat for so long they tried to nurse on each other, by sucking each other's genitals (usually those of the male kittens). This is a behaviour that may stick even after they start being bottle-fed again. It is very dangerous both for the kitten sucking (because it will make the other kitten pee, and the sucking kitten will ingest urine); and for the kitten being sucked on, as it can lead to deformation of their genitals.

The solution to this behaviour is to keep the kittens separate when not supervised. They can have play time together with supervision after feedings, but need to be separated again once they go back to sleep.

The behaviour usually disappears once they're no longer bottle fed, though I've had couple of cases where it persisted after, when a kitten is looking for comfort (similarly to how kittens can continue to suckle their mama for comfort after they've been weaned off of her milk). As a foster parent, my only solution to persistent sucking is not to adopt that particular kitten out with her brothers.

I've had a couple of litters that engaged in sucking (once two litters of a similar age at the same time) and it can be very stressful. If you're dealing with this and you're struggling, make sure to reach out to your shelter for advice and additional material. I had a lot of trouble making sure all the kittens had a heat source (which they need in the first few weeks) and keep them from each other once they were older and needed more space (but were still bottle fed). Luckily these particular kittens stopped once bottle time was over and they were able to be together 24/7 again.

A couple of months ago, my wonderful mother got me a set of books that I've been wanting. Hannah Shaw aka the Kitten Lady's Take Me Home collection, consisting of four books which are adventures in fosterland.

it's meant for young kids but when I commented "hey I'm 26, should I get these books for myself? I really really love cats" on a youtube video, she responded, saying to go for it.

so the print is pretty large, but the pictures are so so so sweet, as are the stories. They're heartwarming, wholesome, I mean..what can I say? These books deliver a great time.

One day at group, I was giggling and snorting for a good few minutes over some parts in a book.

I love these books, I'm so glad I got them and read them, I really recommend them.

Welcome to my extremely large male Bond villains bracket! I originally intended to use 32 villains/ henchmen, but felt bad that it involved excluding some obscure personal favorites so decided to go insane and spring for 64! There are so many goddamn men who wish James Bond ill will lol.

Match Review: Manchester City Women 3-1 Manchester United Women

City's title charge continues, whilst United scramble to finish in the top 4.

I couldn't bring myself to write about this game for a week because it was just so inevitable that City would win, and it's hard to say City didn't deserve it. They're probably worthy WSL champions in all honesty. They play confident football, they're good in possession, they're aggressive and front-footed and like to attack. It's good to watch and nice to see Chelsea under pressure too.

In fairness to United, we did have chances early on. Geyse in particular came close to giving United an early lead. Shots and shots on target, and possession even, were roughly the same between the two Manchester sides, but the eye test told a different story and City were comfortable. It never looked like United were really dangerous, merely an inconvenience.

In contrast, Jess Park bagging her first and second goals for City... yeah. United had 6 on 5 then 8 on 6 for the first goal. Poor positioning, poor tracking back, and ball watching from the women. Sloppy stuff and Mark Skinner needs to be using this game as a showcase of the little errors that need removing. For the second goal, Hannah Blundell switches off at LB and lets Park drift in behind the oblivious Maya Le Tissier to get in for a tap-in. Too, too easy.

Jamaica's Bunny Shaw put City 3-0 up just 30 seconds into the second half, and from there it all slowed down. The game was done, City were comfortable, and United were fortunate to get a consolation goal - an own goal - in the 73rd minute courtesy of Casparij. Toone's link up with the overlapping Blundell, cross in... and a wicked deflection into the back of the net, when if the ball had gone past it really wasn't finding anyone in the middle of the box.

Next up is Everton. Today, actually. Noon kickoff. Lets bounce back with a good win eh?
