Babey I’m cooking
Currently designing a bunch of designs for a Very VERY specific crossover that appeals to like 3 people including me. The storyline is practically the same as Super Paper Mario, with some changes regarding character dynamic and cause -> effect events.
I am having a LOT of fun drawing these! I'm nearly done with the rest of the main cast. Might do a masterpost or just a Big Ramble about this AU/Crossover at some point teehee

Camp Camp Commentary Notes - Season 1, Episode 1: Escape from Camp Campbell
This is the first in a series of posts detailing the various nuggets of behind-the-scenes info found in the commentaries of the Camp Camp Seasons 1 and 2 Blu-Ray. I aim to cover both the writer commentary and cast & crew commentary of every episode in the set (except the holiday specials because they don't have commentaries GRRRR)
Writer’s Commentary
Writers went back to touch up this episode after completing the initial 10 episodes, before going on to the bonus 2 episodes that were greenlit following the positive reception
This episode went through about 12-14 drafts before it was finalized
Pilots are very hard because they both need to be very good and hook the audience so they will want to watch more, you have to juggle introducing all the necessary characters and telling a single solid story
Doubly so since this was the crew’s first shot at writing for an episodic series, all their other efforts had been story-driven up to that point
Irony in that the title of the first episode is about wanting to leave the camp (or show) entirely
Max and David’s dynamic is perfectly set up within 8 lines of dialogue
In older versions of the pilot, Mr. Campbell never showed up in person, only in the introductory video that was later repurposed into promotional material
Most of what was taken out of the pilot ended up being reused in some way, including the intro and the teaser trailer
One of the primary goals was to establish early on that this is not a kids show, like some people who saw the early promo material thought it was
This is why Max swears less than 40 seconds in, and why the rabbit gets swooped up by Timothy earlier (although I’d argue you could make that joke in a more family-friendly show)
First RT series produced in more of a writer’s room style akin to The Simpsons
The writers would come up with episode ideas, divy up who’d want what story, they’d write a first draft, come back to it, workshop the script several times, rinse and repeat until it devolved into Miles and Jordan doing final punch-ups and trimming
This pipeline allowed for lots of easter eggs and background details to be slipped in
Then they effectively do a table-read of the script which allows them to add more
Starting in Season 2, they started recording writer’s room conversations, so if something funny came up and they wanted to add it, they wouldn’t just have to go off of memory
Putting all the campers in the activities field doing their activities seemed like a good way to establish all of their respective camps.
Challenger II is Miles’ favorite visual gag (as of 2018, at least)
Working with Lee Eddy and Travis Willingham was great, Lee especially since they had previously worked with her for Red V.S. Blue
Travis was the first person who recorded for the show, as part of the aforementioned introductory video, and he was great at riffing and ad-lib
What exactly Camp Campbell was was foggy initially (whether or not it advertised that it was a camp of all camps), and the initial pilot didn’t explain it very well because they had built an internal understanding of what it was and didn’t do a very good job conveying it to the audience.
Mr. Campbell really likes the Quartermaster
Looking back on the first episodes is very interesting, especially when you have been working on the show for years at that point, for example, Max’s bond with Nikki hasn’t been established yet, so he has to ask why she’d help him.
Not enough time for the full theme song (hence why no intro), so they thought having Gwen interrupt it was funny
The scene where Max, Neil, and Nikki are running was seemingly the origin of Neil’s raptor arms (oh, excuse me, T-rex arms)
Ed, Edd ‘n’ Eddy was used as a reference for things like this because the Eds each had distinct walk cycles befitting their personality
First Day buttons were included so the campers would have a means to get away from the counselors
The music sting as the bus is driving away is a nod to the Back to the Future theme
Cast and Crew Commentary
Michael jokes about a sequel or prequel called “Max Max/Maximum Max”
The scream Miles did when David gets hit by the bus gets used quite a bit
The more Max’s parents push him away, the more he tries to cling to him, according to Maggie
Episode was supposedly recorded March 2016, ironically one of the last ones recorded
Recording for the series started November of 2015
Handheld camera movements in the mess hall scene were added by animator Gil Calceta
Lee Eddy was the only person who auditioned for Gwen, the crew saw it as perfect casting
Laserdisc player is not big enough for laserdisc
Campbell’s lazy wear (for lack of a better term) was only made for the one shot, though it would later comeback in Season 4
Michael initially auditioned for Camp Camp not really knowing what it was, and his script was just some typical Max phrases
Older episodes, Max was pitched up because Michael hadn’t quite perfected the voice yet
There was no helicopter assest created, it’s off screen and only implied by Campbell being pulled up by the ladder
The scene of Nikki throwing the button took 3 days to animate
The line “Go to bitch, jail” in the Camp Camp Rap Rap was an ad-lib/outtake

ULTIMATE (not really) GASTER CONNECTIONS LIST THING
Finally, I wrote down everything that came to my mind, most of them were theories. So if I missed something, please let me know. Plus, I'll probably update this when I find something new.
Devil connections:
- His stats are with numbers 666
- He fell (into his creation)
- his font has the word Wing in its name
-the first version of deltarune was 0.666
-religious connections of characters in Deltarune
- Possibility that he is an Angel
-Dark, Darker, Yet Darker
- Speaks through the Device - Ouija board reference?
- Shadow Crystals as pieces of him
- is associated with the most hell-like place in the Underground
Enemies in Undertale are similar to the Main Boss of the area-
Characters in the core:
- Final Froggit: Searching for Life Meaning/ Giving life its own meaning. Threaten/Mystify
-Whimsalot: "There's still hope", "I've made my choice", "No regrets", Prayers, Butterflies,
-Madjick: Clear Mind, Magican, Emits Cross-shaped bullets
-Knight Knight: Sleeping, Good Morningstar, Knight
Following this lead, Mettaton should not be a Core Boss -> there is no connection. This is Gaster's place
Uncategorized things:
-The core we see is redesigned by Mettaton, we do not know its previous layout
-Into voice's typer text value is the same as Gaster's
-Everything related to him in the files is written in caps
-His theme plays in Bunker
-He is described as always listening
-Like the corrupted characters he has voice lines (the word Deltarune spoken in the intro, laugh in Undertale files and BIG SHOT)
- can break the fourth wall ( takes over Twitter account)
- Deltarune crashes after typing "Gaster"
-"Man.ogg" is Yume Nikki Fansong
- talks to us in Vessel maker
- is in the Void
-Ms.Zarves and Ray as Inspiration for Gaster
-Possibly a Skeleton
- is the creator of Deltarune
- speaks in hands (probably WingDings font)
- He knows Chara personally (they work together)
- Deltarune is owned by ROYAL SCIENCES, LLC
-is scientist
-He worked for Asgore
-Dark Totems in Core - Dark Fountains first version?
-Memoryhead emits Gaster-like bullets
-Memoryhead says “Lorem Ipsum Docet” -> It means something like "Pain teaches”
-Memoryhead can give you a piece of themself
-Piece is called “Bad Memory”, Follower 3 is recalling Bad Memory connected to Gaster
-Noelle’s Blog page is reference to MysteryMan’s appearance in Undertale
-The entirety of Deltarune is an experiment
-Freezing is both reference to Freezing computer and Dante’s Inferno
-is connected to phones - Part of Memoryhead looks like phone
-”Another Him” uses Giygas soundfont
-Gaster seems to be heavily inspired by Uboa from Yume Nikki and Giygas from Earthboud
-Giygas and Gaster have a machines tied to them. Both are strongly associated with the theme of the devil and prayers.
HIS CREATION = BLACK HOLE:
-“A jump into a black hole is a one-way trip. Black holes are regions of space where gravity is so strong that nothing can escape them, not even light. Even before you reach the event horizon – the point of no return – you would be “spaghettified” by the black hole's tidal forces.” -Supernova
-You fall into a Black Hole
-“Of course, no matter what type of black hole you plunge into, you're ultimately going to get torn apart by its extreme gravity and die a horrible death. No material that falls inside a black hole could survive intact.” - Spacendbeyondthebox
-is everywhere at the same time - after being torn apart
-“Negative Photons reading”
-He was scattered across time and space
-theory made by Reddit user Garble365:
“in Interstellar (the sci-fi movie), Cooper falls into a blackhole, and he gets access to every place in the universe, in this infinitely small blackhole. Basically he is everywhere, at the same time. He can look at his daughter and hear her. But he cannot speak to her with his voice, the sound doesn't reach her due to some reason. So he resolves to knocking a few books in a bookshelf in his daughter's bedroom. Her daughter thought it was a ghost, being small. When she grew up, she realizes it was morse code in the form of books being knocked over. It was her father. He was speaking with his hand”
VIRUS CONNECTIONS:
- causes the files to become corrupted - the characters go insane after the meeting
-“The virus starts propagating, which is multiplying and replicating itself. The virus places a copy of itself into other programs” - Wikipedia
EGG CONNECTIONS:
- mysteryman head shape
- Scientists/intellectual people are called Eggheads
- Humpty Dumpty Reference
- Eggs given by the Man - possible Gaster pieces?
-The eggs stick together into one piece
-eggs break the game's fourth wall and move between save files
-When you drop an egg it says "what egg?" as if it doesn't exist
GERSON AND GASTER CONNECTIONS
-They were both replaced by Alphys after they left
-They are both highly respected by the people
-Religion references - Gerson’s son is priest
-Gaster in tarot card deck was replaced by Gerson
-GERSON is an anagram of the word GONERS
-Gerson in Undertale has knowledge that other monsters do not have
GASTER’S THEME:
-Gaster Blaster looks like Turtle skull
DRAGON CONNECTIONS
-Noelle is playing dragon blazer's 3. She is currently at the snow drake.
- Gaster blaster resembles a dragon's skull and the "beams" could easily be snow, similar to the snow grave spell
- "knight knight" who has a strange reoccurring motifs of day, nights, and dreams. Her sprite is labeled as a dragon
-susie's axe, which is said to be made of a dragon's mane. Implying that susie herself is a dragon

i think david was a lot more like max as a kid but he softened the story he told to max nikki and neil in the car
thank you for the ask anon !! for your reference reading this made me grimace in a way that a wounded dog would upon seeing a piece of meat !! but seriously this is a topic that is very important to my personal and possibly general understanding of these two characters, so im just gonna say that i agree with you and such interpretation of david’s character is very easy to call accurate to canon as both david and max are written with obvious intent to be seen as parallels of one another, more so than they are written to be character foils.
max and david are set to be read as opposites in the show from the very start and i think this is also the easiest and safest way to perceive both of their characters if this shows meta doesn’t interest you. their standpoints and life views are seemingly removed as far away from each other as humanly possible and we are reminded of it more than necessary in the earlier content. the show tries really hard to make it look like david is an inherently good person put against max’s necessary evil, so it seems only right to view them this way. and yet the first two seasons of the show do a spectacular job at showing us that david is not at all as good of a person as he tries to be (not tries to appear, but tries to be, important bc first one is max’s perspective on david’s person while the second one is a description actually accurate to him). early seasons david is undeniably selfish and just as much of an asshole as max is, keep in mind that this is not my personal view on his character but a fact in canon that we are reminded of time and time again and is also something that gets lampshaded by the writers during the parents day episode. he pushes his positive perspective of the way things should be just as hard as max pushes his negative one, if not more, he behaves in his own personal interests instead of interests of others or the interests of camp constantly and guess who is the only other character in the show who does this just as often (the answer is max). the only reason why it’s not always easy to pin point this stuff is because they are constantly posed in situations that require them to act dissimilarly enough for it to create a contrast which isn’t always easy to pick up on as something intentionally vague and done for specific narrative purpose. this similarity extends onto the fact that they are both victims of abuse and the show is well aware of it and uses it to its own advantage. both max and david deal with their trauma in drastically different ways as seen by the way they talk about the world surrounding them, but the core of it is the same and that’s the important part of it.
so i believe it’s very safe to say that even if david didn’t say anything that would allude to him changing the story about his younger self to be nicer than it actually was, it sure was implied by the writers in the subtext of that episode, maybe in the subtext of the show in its entirety. early camp camp content surrounding these two based itself very heavily on david’s belief that his similarity to max is what will push this kid to become just like him in the future, so it really is not out of the left field to assume david was a lot more like max when he was younger. most probably because in many ways he still is just like him.
tldr; david sees himself in max in more ways than one and the show’s writing feels the same way because they intentionally wrote them to be as similar as possible. the writers rely heavily on these two being narrative parallels to make their characters work in the way they do so your headcanon is as real as it gets anon ^^

GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley on Wednesday declined to say slavery was a cause of the Civil War, arguing instead that it came down to “the role of government.”
At a New Hampshire town hall, a voter bluntly asked Haley, “What was the cause of the Civil War?”
Haley, the former South Carolina Governor and former U.N. ambassador who is aiming to present herself as the top Republican alternative to former President Donald Trump, gave a lengthy answer but did not mention slavery — the primary cause of the war.
“I think the cause of the Civil War was basically how government was going to run — the freedoms and what people could and couldn’t do,” Haley said at the beginning of her response.
She went on to say: “I think it always comes down to the role of government and what the rights of the people are. And I will always stand by the fact that I think government was intended to secure the rights and freedoms of the people. It was never meant to be all things to all people.”
“Government doesn’t need to tell you how to live your life. They don’t need to tell you what you can and can’t do. They don’t need to be a part of your life. They need to make sure that you have freedom,” she said.
“We need to have capitalism. We need to have economic freedom. We need to make sure that we do all things so that individuals have the liberties so that they can have freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom to do or be anything they want to be without government getting in the way.”
After the voter responded by saying he found it “astonishing” that Haley had not used the word “slavery” at any point in her answer, she asked, “What do you want me to say about slavery?”
Haley then moved on to the next question.
The exchange drew a swift response from Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison. “This isn’t hard: condemning slavery is the baseline for anyone who wants to be President of the United States,” he said in a statement.
President Joe Biden also responded with a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, saying, "It was about slavery."
Haley’s campaign responded by citing remarks she made addressing the issue during a New Hampshire interview Thursday morning.
“Yes, we know the civil war was about slavery,” Haley said in the interview. “But more than that, what’s the lesson in all this? That freedom matters. And individual rights and liberties matter for all people. That’s the blessing of America. That was a stain on America when we had slavery. But what we want is never relive it. Never let anyone take those freedoms away again.”
The response to Haley’s town hall comments follows similar criticism that a GOP rival, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, faced over his remarks about state standards that teach about the “personal benefit” Black people derived from slavery.
DeSantis was asked in July about the Florida Board of Education’s wording in its guidance for teaching about slavery and said, “I didn’t do it, and I wasn’t involved in it.” He went on to say, “I think what they’re doing is, I think that they’re probably going to show some of the folks that eventually parlayed, you know, being a blacksmith into, into doing things later in life,” referring to enslaved people.
Haley was Governor when South Carolina removed the Confederate flag from its Capitol following the 2015 shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. She has previously talked about how the shooting was the most difficult time for her emotionally as Governor.

29 Sugawara Headcanons but they gradually get more unhinged
My fave turns 29 today (it's still technically the 13th here) and this is what I'm doing with my time instead of yardwork or algebra homework. Happy birthday to the OG setter and king of chaos himself. There are some time-skip spoilers in here, references to drinking, smoking, and generally just getting into trouble. Hope you guys like it.
Tumblr media
Floating around on the internet somewhere is a video of him at Tanaka and Kiyoko's wedding, dancing on a table and knocking the intricate centerpiece over. Nishinoya, the best man, is behind the camera laughing as his upperclassman nearly goes tumbling down a couple times over the blaring music.
He gets a pet and either names it after some random object like “cement mixer” or “armpit” or he gives it a human name like “Gregory”. Complains about his day to them like they're a little person like "That bitch Patrice stole my parking spot this morning...I know right?!"
Has one of those “women want me fish fear me” caps, and wears it proudly.
Has used Asahi to be able to take part in the “kids eat free” promotions at local chain restaurants. Is Sugawara bummed that most of his underclassmen are taller than him? Sure. Does it mean he gets free food when his close friend looks like a grown ass man with a mortgage? Absolutely.
Probably drives a little white mom van hybrid (maybe a Subaru or Prius). It has a bumper sticker that says “HONK IF YOU LOVE MILFS”
Plays with his kids at recess, but when someone starts to get cocky during Four Square or some other game, that Setter Sleeper Agent TM comes out and he has no issue spiking the rubber ball towards the little shit in question to knock them down a few pegs.
Will make the weirdest food combos, and get offended if you question him. What do you MEAN marshmallow fluff doesn’t go with pickles and shredded cheese??? Shame on you.
Some people say they “listen to all kinds of music”, but very few actually mean it. Sugawara is one of those people. You will hear Nikki Minaj, the monsters inc theme, commercial jingles from the 90’s-2000’s, all back to back. It’s enough to give anyone whiplash, and that’s exactly what he’s going for.
Suga didn’t always love extra spicy food, at least not as much as he does now. It started as a way to protect his leftovers from a hungry Daichi. Armed with nothing but a bottle of hot sauce, he eventually found the sweet spot of too spicy for his captain, but not so spicy that it wasn’t enjoyable.
After Kageyama arrived, demoting him, Sugawara found little moments of joy in shoplifting from Ukai’s store. Made awkward eye contact with Nishinoya as he was shoveling spicy chips into his school bag, worried about being caught red handed until his junior gleefully opened his jacket to reveal an unholy amount of popsicles lining the inside. A mutual understanding was made that day. Gave a few to Kageyama as an olive branch, but when Ukai recognized the packaging as the specific snack that keeps disappearing without payment, the poor guy is framed right then and there.
Sneaks into hotels and gyms to use amenities. Who cares if the pool says members only, a little confidence goes a long way.
Went to use the tennis courts, and the back of his shorts say “public enemy number one” in sparkly lettering. Some middle aged guy tried to argue with him and instead of hearing him out, he wordlessly hit the ball into his groin, with perfect aim.
Road rage but it comes out in the form of speeding and cutting people off instead of screaming out the window. But you can definitely hear him grumbling curses now and then.
Not too afraid of getting pulled over, most of the time it’s Daichi anyway. And even when it’s not, he calls him up and begs him to tell his coworker to “reconsider”.
Puts Bill Nye on the projector every Friday for his class so he can sleep at his desk, but sometimes does Kahoot! when he has more energy. Encourages the kids to come up with wild names, giving out prizes not just for highest score, but wildest shit on the board. May or may not be where he got inspiration for his cat's name.
Got on the good side of a lot of PTA moms, sometimes they have him over for dinner. Gets a bit silly after 2-3 glasses of wine though. Don't give him the nuclear codes.
Because lips are looser on nights like those, he has all the dirt on everyone. Not above blackmail if push ever comes to shove. Sure, he won't tell your husband about that affair you mentioned to the ladies over dinner- if you give him your famous cheesecake recipe, that is.
I like to think he orchestrated a fight club in his earlier years and that’s how he’s able to punch so hard.
His Twitter acc is apeshit, likes to make a game out of how quickly he can get famous people to block him. Collects them like Pokémon cards and laughs about it to his friends. Has a "hit list" except it's just which celebrity he wants to piss off next.
Also posted a video of him taking a fat bong rip, and tagged Daichi (a literal cop) before setting his phone to do not disturb.
In high school after having to play against what was probably the most unsportsmanlike team they've encountered, it was Suga’s idea to prank them with a few of his teammates. They got caught about 20 minutes in when Daichi went looking for Hinata and caught him red handed with his arms full of eggs, toilet paper rolls, and the guiltiest look on his face.
You know that cross eyed thing Pennywise from the movie It does, that turned out to not be cgi but a very real trick actor Bill Skarsgård pulled on set? Sugawara can do that too, scared the shit out of his teammates and other schools with it. Even their coach is unsettled.
The 3rd years went to a haunted house at one point after graduation, and then stopped for lunch somewhere. Daichi left to go get a couple beers for everyone, and, because the whole thing was Suga’s idea, tried to sneak up behind him when he came back. Instead of scream though, he clocked him in the face out of reflex, making Daichi drop the tray. Asahi is frantically trying to apologize to the waitress through tears for the mess of beer, blood and glass, Daichi is holding a bloody nose, and Sugawara is going red from trying not to laugh. They get their pictures taken and end up on a board that says DO NOT SERVE.
Vodka in coffee mugs have gotten him through the day on more than one occasion.
Puts his mugshot on Christmas cards, has it hung up in his house in a nice frame. Gifted one to all his friends that year. Many were horrified, some laughed, and one of them told him to hang tight while they got his gift- a mugshot of their own as well (it was probably Nishinoya).
Since his birthday is in June, when he was a kid his family was able to celebrate outside in the beautiful weather. His 15th fell on a Saturday, so they were able to have a much bigger celebration. Unfortunately, that year his older cousin brought her new boyfriend to the family barbecue, and he did NOT pass the vibe check. Maybe it was the speedo, or the douche-y attitude, but one minute Suga was grabbing the hot metal spatula off the grill, and the next thing the guy knew, there was a nasty burn mark branded onto his left ass cheek.
Skipped practice one day to look after his sick little brother, but instead of making soup and taking temperatures, they spent the whole evening playing Minecraft. Everyone is wondering where the hell their setter is, as the two of them lose track of time between building castles and fighting the wonder dragon. It wasn’t until it got dark outside and their mom came home before he realized he forgot to text the group chat.
When it’s time for the DARE program at his school, he’s thrilled to see Daichi again, and constantly tries to distract him as he and a few other cops are trying to explain the dangers of drugs. He pretends to nod along and take everything in, like he doesn’t smoke pot every other week.
Was asked to babysit his nephew last minute, much to the relief of his brother. This would be very short lived though- a few hours later, he’s on tiktok and fretted with a clip of his older brother yeeting a slice of Kraft cheese at his son’s face.

3. “Are we gonna fight? Like fist to fist or rather... lips to lips?”
You, Nikki and Yume ran onto the stage with white microphones in your hands. Your serious expressions described your immense confidence and sense of victory. You were ready for anything, but definitely not for failure that evening. Several groups have already performed before you, including i.a. Buster Bros!!! and MAD TRIGGER CREW. Their performances were good, full of emotions and at a high level. Still, it wasn’t what the audience expected. Surely three brothers and three friends raised the level of today’s performances, the fans wanted even more. Everyone needed a fire on stage.
The song was started by the youngest of you – Yume – who immediately started a personal attack towards all the rappers gathered inside the building. She touched on the sexualization of women in rap tracks, as well as injustice in modern times. Her lines have always been the most moving and always loved by female audiences (Yume was generally very popular with girls and women). You moved your head slightly at the sound of her words hitting the beat perfectly; blonde girl almost blew up the stage. Nikki was next.
She was your younger cousin on your father’s side. She was passionate not only in music, but above all in dancing, which is why she rocked slightly during rap, moving her hips and hands. While her body expressed pure playfulness, her voice seemed genuinely sweet. But don’t let that cute tone of voice fool you. Her rap parts were always the most aggressive and full of references to the past, to the injustice of the world, to hatred towards others and the government’s decisions on teenagers’ lives. Everything based on her own experiences surrounded by a sense of fear and uncertainty about the slowly coming future.
And then it’s time for you; leader, composer, the greatest mental support of the trio. Your parts have never been marked by emotions or sad memories. You focused more on yourself and your girls; praise, boasting, showing your dominance on stage was your most important goal and your best weapon. Offending people? Yeah, why not. Talking negatively about everything? Sure, you don’t care about other people’s feelings. Supporting your own group and showing the three of you as the best crew? Of course, that’s what you’re for. It was your role, your way of expressing yourself. People loved your confidence, your determination and superiority over others. No woman ever thought of gossiping about you, and no man has been able to speak negatively or about you and your girls – people respected you and sometimes feared you.
Your performance ended with the loudest applause and cheers. And it couldn’t be otherwise, and everyone knew it… Even if their fists were clenched as tightly as possible.
{ ・゚✧ }
With sunglasses on, you left the dressing room with your friends and rolled your eyes at the sight of one of your opponents.
“... Aohitsugi, long time no see. How do you feel after losing?” You giggled, nodding to Nikki and Yume. Two girls smirked and then left the huge hall. You were planning to go to the grill bar and drink something.
“You were good, but you can do it better next time.” He replied in a low tone, his tiger eyes looking at your figure.
“If I showed more you would get depressed. I prefer to spare your fragile psyche.”
“Shut up, Y/N.”
Your relation was… quite specific. You’ve known each other for years and even grew up in the same neighborhood. You were also in the same class in elementary and high school, but then your paths parted. For several years you have been meeting during street performances or rap battles organized in the city. You liked him, but nothing else. He was, after all, another pawn to knock down.
“Ouu, so scary, Mr. Hardcore.” You bit your lip between your teeth, then rested one hand on your hip. “Are we gonna fight? Like fist to fist or rather… lips to lips?” Samatoki sighed, crossing his arms. “Of course, I mean our microphones.” You liked teasing him and you knew perfectly well that he had a soft spot for you. After all, everyone in this world had a soft spot for your person.
So why not have more fun? Especially if we’re talking about Samatoki?

Rating the Kommissar Rex/Il Commissario Rex/Hudson and Rex human partners for funsies, in chronological order. Contains spoilers, some bias, and opinions based on superficial characteristics. I will take the blame for any distorted memories I have of the shows, although I did a full rewatch last summer. (Rewatch refers to Kommissar Rex and Hudson and Rex. I could only watch Il Commissario Rex once. Well, 0.75 times. I couldn’t find some of the episodes.)
Kommissar Rex
Richard Moser: The blueprint. Not necessarily the best one in my opinion (although if you ask kid me, yes), but they modeled at least two other characters after him in the reboots. Pretty nice (although a product of his time), street smart, recently divorced, and the first few episodes where he and Rex are getting used to living together are hilarious. Moser’s dry humor was good too, also his whump scenes where great. And I appreciated the nude scenes a lot (thanks, German tv of the 90s). 8/10
Alex Brandtner: The hot one. Also, more of a “new age” cop (new age here means post 90s, don’t get confused). Kid me didn’t appreciate the hotness but I watched it in my teen years, and oh boy. And the action scenes, while sometimes ridiculous and making you wonder why???, really showed the actor’s training in physical scenes too. I always liked the way Brandtner immediately bonded with Rex and then we learn of the tragedy with his own dog. Too bad his love life was even more non-existent than Moser’s. 9/10
Marc Hoffmann: I’ll be honest, I just didn’t care for him for the most part, but I did like the fact that for the first time there was a ship with him and Nikki. They went for a different style with this one and it shows. Marc is less type A than the previous two, not a bad thing, but by that point, it was clear that Kommissar Rex as a show was nearing its end and I think it sometimes showed. 7/10

Il Commissario Rex (At this point, let me just say that I don’t associate the two shows with each other. And whoever has watched both, would probably agree with me. It hardly matters that the Italian show starts as a spinoff.)
Lorenzo Fabbri: Ugh, I don’t know what it is with this guy but I didn’t like him much. His style was a lot like Moser at first (adopting Rex, saving him from a miserable fate, learning to live with him, etc.). I absolutely hated the storyline with the forensics scientist throwing herself at him every chance she got and him trying to avoid her instead of flat out telling her he’s not interested, and then at some point they slept together??? Anyway, did not like. 6/10
Davide Rivera: I liked that guy but sadly we didn’t have that many episodes with him. He could have had more to offer as a character. More quiet than the sometimes too loud Lorenzo, and took some time to warm up to Rex if I recall. I liked that he took no flack from his boss (Sidenote: the boss didn’t like Rex at first and kept wanting to get rid of him, and I wanted to rip him to shreds). 7/10
Marco Terzani: I literally found one season of his episodes, so I’ll reserve judgment (if anyone has his second and third season, please give it to me lol or point to the right direction). He seems kinda reckless? He’s definitely attractive. ?/10, more research needed.
----
Hudson and Rex
Charlie Hudson: Started off as kind of mediocre for me, then he made me change my mind. When I started watching, I was hellbent on comparing every single thing of this show to the characters of the original at first, so I’m partially to blame for my initial perception of him. However, I won’t blame myself for the bad writing, pacing, and overall mediocrity of S1 that contributed to a big part of it. Anyway, they used some of Moser’s backstory (divorced, adopts Rex after his K-9 partner tragically dies) and expanded on it. Charlie has had the most development as a character than any of the others, which makes sense since he’s the first of Rex’s partners to live that long or not get rebooted lol. He definitely gets bonus points for having a love life too. And for not dying, despite all the whump situations he gets himself into. Definitely falls under the reckless category too. 70% himbo, 100% whump magnet. 9/10

Nikki blinks in alarm, crouched against a wall with an apple in his hand. He’s squeezing it too hard, and juice is running down his fingers, but he’s not processing much right now. His brain’s sluggish, and he’s slowly moving through each word that Black Star had said until he absorbs something.
Finally, he blinks again, as if startled out of a trance. The hand not covered in juice reaches up to trace the white scar that runs from just above his heart to his stomach. Only a small triangle of it is visible above his shirt collar, and a part of him is surprised the feline even noticed. Slowly, he gathers energy to speak. “… it’s not the worst one I have. It just… it just hurt the most.” He’s referring to the emotional pain, and he thinks that it’s obvious, but it’s really not.

way too many camp camp headcanons? why not
part one: harrison (about half of these are angsty)
at the age of about 7, harrison found his older brother dying (how can be up to you) and his brothers last words were to make him disappear so their parents wouldnt see him dead. harrison complied and took the blame, because he knew his parents would be heartbroken if they found out what happened. harrison struggles to control his magic, yes, but he couldnt bring his brother back if he wanted. there's nothing for him to bring back anymore.
the police, after searching, declared his brother legally dead, and despite having no body to bury, they still made a gravestone. harrison isnt allowed to visit it, so he goes on his own without his parents knowing. he ofen sits there and cries.
harrison wasn't allowed to go to the funeral for his brother.
harrison has a rabbit named abra and a bird named cadabra. nerris won't stop making pokemon references about them, and harrison has no clue what she means.
harrison's fight flight or freeze is freeze. he would be in immediate danger and stand still. or, perhaps, he'd make himself disappear.
harrison can't bring things back after disappearing them without destroying them, hence why omle/eggolas broke. harrison's parents sent him to camp campbell in hopes he'd learn to fix this and be able to bring back his brother.
harrison's magic has an unknown source. nobody in his family is magic, at least to their knowledge.
harrison has religious trauma due to his parents thinking he was cursed in some way. his parents have tried every way to 'cure' him, but none of them worked. at this point, he knows all the priests in the area from this. he's also banned from a few churches for being 'a mouthpiece of the devil'. no i'm not projecting, stfu.
harrison often helps preston perform his plays using magic, typically to make props or effects.
harrison struggles with most things concerning his magic. while simple tricks are easily learnt, he struggles with more complex stuff, such as fire, making things appear (he often makes the wrong things appear, usually things that sound the same, which is why his rice/mice/lice/ice/dice trick failed the second time), bringing things back from disappearing, and levitation. harrison likely has other powers, but these are the only ones he knows he has.
when harrison first came to camp, david tried his best to help him control his abilities and try to reach his full potential. but because nobody at camp is magic or knows how it works (with the exception of possibly quartermaster, but nobody trusts him), he eventually had to break it to harrison that he likely wouldn't be able to help. harrison spent that night trying his best to levitate random objects backstage. if david wasn't going to help him, he'd help himself.
harrison has insomnia, and when he can't sleep, he practices his tricks backstage.
harrison sleeps curled up in a fetal position, and often gets cold. nerris/preston (or both) are the big spoon.
once, after camp, harrison went over to nerris' house for a sleepover. while leaving, one of nerris' parents hugged him, and he had to stop himself from crying because it's been so long since his own parents hugged him, and he can almost pretend its his parents hugging him and not nerris'.
adhd and anxiety. hes a double a battery.
animals tend to really like harrison (not wild ones like nikki, though). nerris has a cat, and harrison falls in love with her.
harrison is good at every class except science. mostly because it frustrates him, because he breaks most of the physics laws he's forced to learn. why learn about gravity when he can actively defy it?
harrison sleeps over at nerris' place a lot, mostly because he likes it a lot more than his own home. a few times he's joined in on board game night. it usually ends in him and nerris fighting over the rules and if one of them cheated, or in nerris and him obliterating the competition as a duo.
harrison is the 'quiet kid' at school, to the confusion of nerris and preston. he usually keeps to himself, and while he sometimes gets picked on, he avoids bullying for his magic that way.
harrison made his first ever blanket fort with his brother, and his second with nerris and preston.
harrison has a scrapbook of his time at camp campbell, that he reads at home to feel like he's back there.
camp campbell made him so happy that he forgot how miserable his home life made him. every year he awaits summer and camp eagerly.
harrison's family, preston's family, and nerris' family all spend thanksgiving and christmas together, due to their families not being nearby for the holidays and because preston, harrison, and nerris are such close friends/dating/whatever floats your boat.
harrison doesn't like kool-aid, blame daniel for that.
harrison's favorite movie is the lion king. he just seems like he'd like it and cry every time at mufasa's death
harrison gets annoyed when he's compared to bill cipher by classmates
harrison has agoraphobia and hates going places alone.
harrison prefers to eat meals in his room rather than with his parents
hes also bisexual. i know because he, harrison, told me himself i swear
thats it lmao

LETTERS FROM AN AMERICAN
January 16, 2024
HEATHER COX RICHARDSON
JAN 17, 2024
[Warning: paragraphs 6–8 talk about rape.]
In yesterday’s Iowa caucus, 51% of Republican caucusgoers chose former president Donald Trump as their preferred candidate for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination. Twenty-one percent of Republican caucusgoers chose Florida governor Ron DeSantis. Nineteen percent chose former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley. Seven percent chose technology entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy. These results mean that 20 of Iowa’s 40 delegates will go to Trump; 8 to DeSantis; 7 to Haley; and three to Ramaswamy. An apparent Trump surrogate in the primary debates, Ramaswamy suspended his campaign after the caucus and endorsed Trump.
Turnout was much lower than expected, with only about 110,000 people voting. That’s about 15% of Iowa’s three quarters of a million registered Republicans out of a population of just over 3 million people.
On Friday, January 12, in Des Moines, DeSantis blamed right-wing media for Trump’s continued popularity. “He’s got basically a Praetorian Guard of the conservative media—Fox News, the websites, all this stuff,” DeSantis said, referring to the elite unit of the Roman army that protected the emperor both physically and through intelligence collecting. “They just don’t hold him accountable, because they’re worried about losing viewers and they don’t want to have the ratings go down. And that’s just the reality.”
For his part, true to form, Trump has shared a story that Haley is not eligible to be president because her parents were not citizens when she was born in the U.S. in 1972. This reflects both his “birther” history and his promise to end the birthright citizenship established in 1868 by the Fourteenth Amendment. Also true to form, he made no accusations of voter fraud or rigged voting last night as he has done in the past when he lost elections; indeed, he told supporters this was his third win in Iowa. The truth is that in 2016 he lost Iowa’s caucus vote to Texas senator Ted Cruz.
The Iowa results pretty much told us what we already knew. Trump remains the dominant leader of the hard-right older Republicans who turn out for caucuses, but is so generally unpopular that 49% of Iowa caucusgoers—the party’s most dedicated supporters in a deeply Republican state—chose someone else. The Trump base is older—entry polls showed that only 27% of yesterday’s voters were under the age of 50—and Trump won most handily in the rural, white counties that look least like the rest of the country. His greatest increase in support since 2016 came among white evangelicals.
That support from those who claim fervent religious beliefs seems an odd fit with the candidate, who was in a federal courtroom in New York City today for the start of a trial to determine the additional damages he owes writer E. Jean Carroll for defaming her after she said he raped her in the 1990s, claiming she was lying to sell books. Carroll sued him in 2019, but the case has been delayed as Trump argued that he had presidential immunity for his comments.
While it was delayed, in May 2023 a jury found Trump liable for sexual abuse in a second civil trial known as Carroll II. The jury ordered Trump to pay Carroll $5 million. When Trump’s team countersued Carroll for defamation, saying the jury had found him liable not for rape, but for sexual abuse, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan said Carroll’s words were “substantially true.” Kaplan made it clear that New York law defines rape very narrowly. He said “the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact…‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape.’” “The jury,” he wrote, “found that Mr. Trump forcibly penetrated her vagina.”
Today the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit denied Trump’s claim of presidential immunity for his defamation of Carroll and dismissed his argument that his comments weren’t defamatory.
Carroll II established guidelines for the previous case as it finally moved forward. In a pretrial judgment, U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan determined that Trump is liable for defamation for his ridicule of Carroll. Trump remains undeterred. As he arrived at the courthouse this morning, Alex Woodward noted in The Independent, his social media account released a flood of “potentially defamatory statements” attacking Carroll.
In Politico, Erica Orden noted that today’s trial is just down the street from the Trump trial for civil fraud that ended last Thursday. In that case, Judge Arthur Engoron has already ruled that Trump committed business fraud. The trial was over fines, disgorgement of ill-gotten gains, and the Trump Organization’s continuing ability to do business in New York. Trump’s outburst at the end of the trial attacking the judge and New York attorney general Letitia James suggests that he has little faith that he is going to win that case and is instead turning it into a political pulpit as part of his attempt to undermine the American justice system. On Thursday morning, law enforcement officers showed up at Judge Engoron’s house in a “swatting” incident after someone falsely told police a violent crime was being committed there.
Attorney Joe Tacopina filed papers to withdraw himself and his two partners from Trump’s defense team yesterday.
White evangelicals heartily endorse a crook and a rapist apparently because they expect that he will put in place the world they envision, one controlled by white, patriarchal evangelical Christians.
But as even the Iowa caucuses indicated, the idea of replacing American democracy with an authoritarian who will enact Christian nationalism is not generally popular. In the Washington Post on January 11, Philip Bump explored a new poll by YouGov showing that when U.S. adult citizens are presented with 30 of Trump’s declared policies, majorities oppose 22 of them. A majority approved only four of them, and those were the ones the right wing has been hammering: banning hormonal or surgical treatment for transgender minors (57%), legally limiting recognized genders (53%), requiring immigrants to remain in Mexico while their asylum claims are being processed (56%), and—by a narrow majority of 51%—deporting immigrants in the U.S. illegally.
Some of Trump’s signature policies are deeply unpopular. Only 21% of Americans support getting rid of the nonpartisan civil service; only 18% support giving the president control over regulatory agencies like the Federal Communications Commission. Only 31% support sending U.S. troops into U.S. cities to enforce order; only 33% support sending troops into Mexico to fight drug cartels. Only 23% support further cuts to taxes on corporations. Only 29% want to get rid of the Affordable Care Act (which has seen a record 20.5 million Americans enroll so far in the current enrollment period); only 28% support withdrawing from the World Health Organization. Only 38% want to end birthright citizenship, the same percentage as those who want to end U.S. aid to Ukraine.
The YouGov study shows that only 30% of Americans support withdrawing from the Paris Climate Accords, and a December 2023 CNN poll showed that 73% want the government to do more to address climate change. And yet, today, Scott Waldman of Politico previewed the Trump team’s preparation for ending all efforts to address climate change. Complaining that the people in Trump’s first administration were “weak,” Trump advisor Steve Milloy told Waldman that  “The approach is to go back to all-out fossil fuel production and sit on the EPA.”
“We are writing a battle plan, and we are marshaling our forces,” Paul Dans, director of Project 2025 at the Heritage Foundation, said last year. “Never before has the whole conservative movement banded together to systematically prepare to take power Day 1 and deconstruct the administrative state.”
Meanwhile, Politico’s roundup of Washington, D.C., news shows that President Joe Biden has invited top congressional leaders of both parties—Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), Senate minority leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), House speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA), and House minority leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY)—and relevant committee chairs to a meeting at the White House tomorrow to discuss the stalled aid package to Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and the U.S. border. Also today, the Senate is considering the continuing resolution to fund the government before the current continuing resolution ends on Friday.
Speaker Johnson has pushed off House votes until Wednesday out of apparent concern about the snow in Washington today.

A Beginner Navigating in The World of Art.
Hello dear, reader! I hope you're having a fine day, I hope you enjoy this little art blog I made hehe.😊
Tumblr media
Art comes in all shapes and sizes, and it has different meanings for everyone, for some, art is through visuals like drawing, painting, and sculpting, and for others, art is through acting, music, and literature. Though they all have one thing in common, art can be therapeutic and can ease one's mind.
I found solace in art, it was a skill I wanted to master. Art became my ground zero, whenever I feel overwhelmed with joy or sadness.
Tumblr media
"Grasp" (Graphite on paper) - Christine Tequin
A Self-taught Artist
"I am an artist, my hair is rarely tamed and sometimes I sleep till noon." -Nikki Rowe
My name is Christine, I am a self-taught artist, currently based in Davao City. I am definitely not an expert or a professional. I just draw and sketch like most people, I practice and draw from time to time.
I started drawing probably because my father was one--an artist. I admired him, he can draw anything; people, objects, animals, and plants, and he could even draw plans for buildings and houses. No, he is not an architect, nor he is an engineer, he simply had talent. Both my parents were very supportive, they encourage me to draw, and bought me my first watercolor set.
And so that was how it began, at first, I would have my Papa draw a subject, and then afterward I would try and trace it with wax paper and an ordinary Mongol no. 2 pencil, I would color it and then my Mama would paste it on our wall.😄
Tumblr media
A quick color study on warm and cold tones (watercolor on paper)
-Christine Tequin
Behind the Sketch Pad
I do art or drawing as a hobby, a pleasure I enjoy doing. People think of it as a talent, but I don't consider it as a natural talent, why? Well, my drawing skills didn't just magically appeared overnight, I had to teach myself how to draw, how to shade, and how to sketch here and there. Though my father taught me all the basics, the truth is I'm still learning, and I'm still having a hard time each time I pick up a pencil and a piece of paper.
And I hope through this blog post, I might as well enlighten everyone who thinks drawing or art is easy. Even those well-known artists struggle too, especially the part where you doubt yourself: whether you're good enough or you just draw really bad.
Doing art should be a creative process, where you can create and draw and color whatever you like. Yet, the pressure of wanting it to look good and be perfect can hinder you. I experienced that all the time, each and every time I draw and paint there's always that feeling of wanting perfection; striving for perfection isn't something bad. But it kills creativity as well, so, I learned to always trust the process so that in the end it will all come together. It is repetitive though, like a never-ending cycle. Here is an artwork I did that took me a week to draw because of it:
ps. I did not finished it.😂😂😂
Tumblr media
"Elderly" (Graphite and Charcoal on paper) (Unfinished) - Christine Tequin
A Paper, A Pencil and A Brush
Personally, I opted to use graphite and charcoal as my main medium because it is easy to work with, plus, everything is gray-scale so I didn't have to worry about what color palette I am using. Graphite and charcoal is a dry medium which means it is convenient and portable, I can carry it around anywhere, it also helped me with the values and proportions of my reference photo or subjects.
Tumblr media
Study on proportions (Graphite on paper)
I don't have a preference when it comes to picking my subjects/reference. Whatever I draw just depends on my mood, if I'm up to drawing portraits then portraits it is, or if I wanted to sketch body parts such as eyes, mouth, nose, and torso, to practice. I also draw book characters, like how I reimagined them, or celebrities, random people's photos I find on Pinterest. Pinterest is one of my sources for reference photos.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hand and eye sketches (Graphite on paper)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Sun summoner" from the book Shadow and Bone (left)
"Hermione" from The Harry Potter Series (right)
ps. I'm also a bookworm and I'm a Potterhead👓⚡
My style in drawing isn't at all defined or restricted, though I particularly like realism. I haven't tried other styles of art yet so, I wouldn't say my style now is my absolute favorite. Just like Picasso, he tried or did a lot of art styles during his lifetime and it made his work stand out.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Pond" (Watercolor on paper) "Sherlock" (Pen on paper)
- Christine Tequin
Back to The Drawing Board
When it comes to drawing, it is a constant trial and error. In between unsuccessful sketches, drawings, and attempted portraits. There will be instances where you'll see those pages in your sketchbook and the immediate reaction would be cringing😂 probably due to the fact that it looks weird or maybe you just didn't like the outcome. But thanks to those unfinished drawings, I learned to do things differently such as little hacks to save myself some time or techniques.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As you can see, all my drawings and artwork in this blog post aren't the best. And that's why I want to do more art, do more drawings and paintings, so I could grow and improve.
I am looking forward though, maybe five years from now who knows, I might have my very own room dedicated to my art.
“I dream my painting and I paint my dream.”

Thank you for reading, please comment your thoughts about this post. Feel free to critique haha.😁

Meaning behind the boss ghosts' names?
As the title suggests, I'm gonna run through the boss ghosts' names of lm3 and try to analyze or, at least hypothesis what their meanings are. Of course, these are just opinions and also largely speculation-
with that out of the way, enjoy!
Steward- A steward is someone employed in businesses such as hotels and manages the place. Essentially the head servant if you will. And, funny enough, that's practically the exact role we see our boyo Steward in! Also also, may be a bit of a stretch, but could also be a sorta reference to the name Stewart? Kinda? They're awfully similar-
Chambrea- From the bat, her name sounds similar to the title of "chambermaid", which is basically her job. Also, when translated into french (bc maids are generally associated with being french), it literally translates to "chamber of", further referencing the chambermaid motif
Kruller- This one's pretty simple! A cruller is a (rather tasty looking) pastry doughnut. Of course, this is a reference to the stereotype of how cops like doughnuts. Buy why the K? not too sure-
Chef Soulffle- a combination of the words "soul" and "souffle". Soul to fit with the oooo spooky ghost motif and souffle because it's a french dish (and it seems pretty damn clear that him and his area is very french. probably bc it's associated with food and all)
Amadeus Wolfgeist- A play on the famous composer in the 18th century, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, who just so happened to play piano. The "geist" part is a pun and also makes it sound more Ghostly
King MacFright- the surname prefix "Mac" has Scottish/Irish origins from what I can tell (in this case I feel like he's Irish, but I'm not sure-). This goes with the idea that he's more likely than not a reference to a stereotypical medieval European setting with him as the king. Fright is also there bc fright. Spooky. (On a side note the prefix Mac means "son of" so his name translates to Son of Fright??)
Dr. Potter- Pot. Like plant pot. Like you pot a plant for it to grow :o]. On another note, the Dr part of his name implies he received a doctorate of some form???
Morty- not sure about this one. Most likely because the root word "mort" means dead and y'know. He a ghost- also I just think it's a nice name <:o)
Ug- relates to stereotypic caveman noises and shit. 360 ooga booga booga.
Clem- I honestly have. No idea?? Maybe because the mark on his hat looks like a clam??? I really have no clue man maybe he was just named that just bc it felt right-
Serpci- sounds similar to serpent or snake, which is a common motif and symbol throughout her level and on her design. Snakes also might have significance in ancient Egyptian culture, but I'm not sure
Nikky, Lindsey, and Ginny- for the longest time I had no fucking clue. Like. Maybe they all end in that ee sound bc they're triplets and their names usually similar?? But it turns out, the wiki said that their initials are NLG, which are also the initials for Next Level Games, the developers for Luigi's mansion, so that's very cool! :o]
Johnny Deepend- Deepend as in like. The deep end of a pool, which he's residing in. Also likely a reference to the American actor Johnny Depp. Why him? I have no clue-
DJ Phantasmagloria- probably derived from the word phantasmagoria, which is essentially a descriptor for something that seems so unreal it's like a dream (sound familiar ;o) ). Not to mention it sounds like phantom for Ghostly-ness and also gloria, probably a reference to the name Gloria if anything
Hellen Gravely- mix of hell and grave, both associated with the dead
And there you have it guys! Hope you enjoyed!

Nikki: Colorful Cake Tower
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Designer’s Reflection: Colorful Cake Tower
Obtained: Nikki’s birthday #2
Rarity: SSR
Attribute: Purple/Sexy
Awakened Suit: Dreamy Cake
Story - transcripts from Designer’s Reflection
Chapter 1 - The Best Dessert Shop
Chapter 2 - Cake’s Memories
Chapter 3 - Reserved Blessings
Chapter 4 - Sweet and Warm Times
Story - summarized
You and Momo bring Nikki to the best dessert shop in Ninir. You’re here to make her a birthday cake, but also to spend the day trying desserts and relaxing on the cushions. Nikki has been wanting to go here for a long time, and she is excited to be here!
Each of the shop’s three floors has something different. The first floor depicts candy art, with individual pieces coming together in aesthetically fantastic ways. It’s also where you will make Nikki’s cake.
The second floor has tea and cookies for the customers. There’s also photos and videos from past customers who share their memories of fun times with loved ones and their cakes. Nikki remembers home, when her older sister would smear frosting on her face while her dad took photos.
Lastly, the third floor houses all kinds of desserts and snacks to purchase. Nikki and Momo have a list of snacks to get for everyone at the birthday party tonight, and finally, they find them all. As a bonus, Nikki can pre-order cakes here to deliver to friends on their special day. Excitedly, she sketches ideas for Yexiao, Loen...
When Momo asks about a cake for you, Nikki tells him that she doesn’t need to pre-order a cake. She will always be with you, and she will make the cake herself!
As the sun sets, the three of you head back home, stomachs full and hearts bursting. Nikki calls this the perfect day.
Connections
-When you play through the events for Nikki’s surprise birthday, these events take place during the same time as the baking mini-game.
-Nikki’s design for Yexiao’s birthday cake is of spicy hotpot. When you first meet her in Vol. 1, she offers to cook dinner for everyone... not realizing that no one else eats extra spicy food except her.
-For Loen’s cake, Nikki drew doves against a blue sky and Loen standing underneath. This lines up with the artwork for Loen’s awakened Mind Maze Reflection, Gleaming Snow.
Fun Facts
-For the second birthday event, you got to make your own cake for Nikki in a mini-game. You chose a flavor, a fruit, and a nut. (I think mine was a strawberry almond vanilla cake.)
-In Chapter 3, when Nikki is buying the food, the staff refers to the both of you as “ladies.” Since all genders play the game (and the translation could have been off), I took that part out.
-Aeon’s chosen dessert is the one that changes the most in translation. Among the Index, the transcript, and a direct translation from the Chinese server, he eats his egg tart with either absinthe, coriander, or wormwood (respectively).

Emily watches the "She Hulk" finale
I have mixed feelings. I didn't need the big dumb fight to happen but I did want more of an emotional resolution to what happened at the end of last episode. Some sort of catharsis even if it's not punching.
It seemed like Nikki (and Pug) cared more about solving that than Jen did.
I liked some of the fourth wall stuff and K.E.V.I.N. In general I think it is good for Marvel to be a little less self-serious. And I do think some fans are so almost worshipful of Kevin Feige that it becomes uncomfortable. So making fun of him, I am totally fine with.
But the VFX jokes fell flat considering how the crew complained about what Marvel is putting them through. I would've cut that. Couldn't they just say he wanted her to turn because it's less expensive?
I think we all knew that Emil was turning into Abomination on the side (related question: his VFX looked almost practical, did anyone else think that? Was that a man in a suit?) so I wasn't surprised he would take a speaking engagement and not check too closely. But I would've liked for him to be a LITTLE sorry that it was the guys who hurt Jen. That doesn't feel right. (Though I was not surprised Wong broke him out because they are besties now. Suck it, Strange. Would watch whole show about Wong, Madisynn and Abomination just hanging around Kamar-Taj.)
I wish we learned WHY Titania was there. I wanted more Titania in general throughout the season. I thought she was fun. And she looked hot breaking through that wall.
Tumblr seems to be most excited by the return of Daredevil. I didn't hate it but it felt a bit fan service-y to me. I don't think Matt and Jen will be a couple when "Daredevil: Born Again" rolls around so it's really just filling time with jokes about how much money he makes. And we know he lives in a trash bin already, Marvel. Duh.
I haven't seen many gifs of the parts I did like so I would like to request.
Cousin Larry aka Jen's Dad spraying the reporters with a hose and saying he had "water pressure for days." That's a good dad. Where is Balki though?
I loved everything about Nikki trying to get Pug to talk like an incel. I loved when she said to refer to women as "females." That was the best joke in the episode.
Titania trying to live stream a murder of Todd is great. No notes.
I liked seeing Wrecker again but I wished the entire group had been there for the fight. That would've made it bigger and stupider! Come on, show! PS I hope they aren't getting the chicken blood from Emil's chickens? Was that what the court room drawing with the chicken was? I don't like that.
Disney makes her sign an NDA even if they are going to send guards after her. Yes, that sounds like Disney.
Did Jen get her job back? She's going into court as She Hulk at the end. That felt skipped over and something that would've been important to her.
It was very silly. In general I prefer silly to overly serious. But not all of the jokes landed for me.
But listen I'm happy to see Bruce, Matt and Wong. Even Emil, Wrecker and Titania. I hope everyone comes back for a season 2 especially Pug and Nikki.
LAWYER SHOW!

This is genuinely one of my absolute favorite costumes, and one of the ones I'm still so proud of today!
Like Shiki, I decided to make this particular version of Erza's because I saw an opportunity to make something I'd always wanted to make: a hakama! Does she actually wear a hakama? Not really, but who cares?!
==========
My wig is from Epic Cosplay Wigs. The top is two parts. The first was made from white spandex and is essentially a tube top. I then cover it with drug-store gauze that sticks to itself once it's in place. The bottom, which you can't really see, is made from the same white spandex as the top. I made a pattern from a pair of tights I already had only it goes down to just before my knees.
The hakama is made from red denim-like cotton. I used Folkwear pattern 151, Hakama and Kataginu. I used appliqué (HeatnBond Lite) for the flames at the bottom; the fabrics were similar to the red. For my back board, I fused some spare red to a few pieces of 16th of an inch-thick piece of interfacing. It is washable this way but still stiff as a board and bendable like professional hakama.
I originally wanted to do the tattoo with Hollywood Ink Henna pens and a stencil, but when we got to the convention Friday, we saw they had temporary tattoos in all of the colors we needed and we figured that'd be easier and faster. Plus, most of us were wearing things the next day that would've shown the guildmark so we didn't want them to clash. I later bought actual temp tattoo pens from Stargazers.
I made Benizakura to go with this costume in 2017. It is made of 1/4 plywood for the core blade and hilt. The tsuba (guard) is made of 3/4 plywood that I sanded down to about 5/16 of an inch. I also sanded the hilt pieces from 1/4 to about 1/8 so the hilt came to 1/2 an inch. I used thin foam to finish the designs: the over-layer on the tsuba, the swirls on the hilt, and the pummel. Lastly, the tassel is made out of actual tassel, three wooden craft beads painted red, and screw in loop painted gold. The tassel was beaded and then, after strung through the loop, glue into the top bead.
And speaking of late add-ons... I also didn't have the time to make her earrings but I did eventually, so look out for them in some of these shots. They are made out of a half-inch square acrylic rod that I sanded down using a grinder wheel. A friend carefully drilled a small hole for the wire that I twisted, covered with a bead, and attached to a clamp earring, since I don't have pierced ears. Everything was spray painted to match.
Now my brother's costume was also a lot of fun to make. Aside from his height, he really does have a lot in common with Natsu, so it was a lot of fun to be these two. We got the wig from Fantasy Sheep on eBay; came pre-styled.
The scarf was made out of white fleece. Essentially, I made a pillowcase-like piece, inserted a thin layer of polyfoam, sewed the fringes between the "pillowcase"'s sides as it was shut, and sewed the different sections with black thread. I'm very proud of it because it bulges up and sections off like the references.
I used dark navy blue broadcloth for the front fabric and I insisted it should be reversable as per the Tenroujima Arc, I used grey broadcloth as the lining fabric. The trim is gold poly-cotton. I modified a simple shirt pattern I already had as the vest was not very complicated. We actually bought both the belt buckle and interchangeable belt from PiercingPros on Amazon.
Same fabric and idea as the vest, for the "skirt." I measured his waist, marking the middle, and then halving that measurement to add to it to get the bottom measurement, lining up the middles. (In case that was confusing, here's a formula: W = waist measurement; B = Bottom measurement; W + (W/2) = B) It connects at the top, under the belt with hook-n-eye clasps.
I modified the pants pattern from Kouma. I used white broadcloth held up with an elastic waistband. The calf ties are extra navy broadcloth fashioned like trim after bunching the ends of the pants and have hook and eye clasps on the inside seam. The knots are made separately and then sewn into place They were actually made by my friend Kirky.
