genre: a poor attempt at smut tbh
warning(s): terribly written dick sucking and like one degradation term
note: sorry if this isn't to your liking anon, this is the first time i've written smut and gp so it really might not be the best:(
one of the many favorite things you liked about heejin was that she loved working out and it gave you an excuse to stare for just a little too long. you couldn’t help, something about her sweat glistening just seemed to set you off in just the best way possible.
you were sitting on the couch of the dorms that you shared with heejin and her members when a text message popped up on your screen as you scrolled through various social media apps.
can you come by the practice room and bring my water bottle? i was in such a rush to workout that i left it on the kitchen island:( texted heejin. you smiled to yourself, muttering a small “loser.” before getting off the couch and making your way over to the kitchen where you saw her water bottle sitting exactly where she had said it was. after you grabbed the water bottle, you made your way towards the front door, slipping shoes on, and putting a cap on before leaving to run your quick errand.
or so you thought.
as soon as you walked into the practice room where heejin was doing an impressively long plank, you felt drawn to her, almost like she put a spell on you that made you want to stick around for the rest of her workout. you placed her water bottle next to her, she thanked you while still planking, and with that you made your way towards the wall opposite of her, sliding your back down it to sit down. a timer had gone off a couple minutes later, signifying that her plank was done with. heejin sat on her knees, grabbing the ipad she used to time her plank, turning it off.
“thanks for bringing my water bottle by the way, that plank almost killed me.” heejin chuckled while opening her water bottle, taking the biggest gulps you’ve ever seen her take. a couple water droplets fell, dribbling down her chin before eventually falling and rolling down her chest. the stray water droplets had caught your eye, but you shook your head, attempting to get any lewd thoughts you may have just had out of your head.
heejin carried on with her workout, getting through it with ease since you were there for moral support even if you only nodded and smiled when heejin would ask you any sort of question. you were too focused on every bead of sweat that formed over time with her workout. you found yourself not even being able to snap yourself out of your thoughts, fully letting any and every thought consume your brain until heejin started clapping her hands.
“hello? earth to y/n? you there?” heejin clapped and chuckled, catching your attention. you blinked a couple times, shaking your head and apologizing. who knew you could get so lost in your thoughts. “do you mind getting me a towel from that rack over there? i'm drenched.” heejin continued to which you nodded.
“you’re not the only one that’s drenched.” you muttered to yourself, giggling under your breath while grabbing a towel from the rack and making your way towards her. she thanked you, using the towel to wipe the sweat off. you couldn’t help but watch as she wiped herself dry. just when you thought you were being somewhat subtle, heejin snapped her fingers, catching your attention once again.
“i know you’ve been staring this entire time, that’s why you stuck around for my workout, huh? you enjoy watching me sweat? does it turn you on?” heejin smirked, watching as your cheeks started to turn a light shade of red out of embarrassment. “oh come on, don’t get embarrassed now.” she chuckled, cupping your jaw with her hand free hand that wasn’t holding the towel, pulling you into a lust filled kiss that only deepened after heejin dropped the towel she was holding. she pulled away, admiring your face filled with bliss, rubbing her thumb against your lip before smirking.
“i want you to suck me off.” heejin blatantly said, grabbing your hand to cup her hard on. “let me feel those pretty lips wrapped around my cock, sound good?” you nodded, licking your lips to which heejin nodded in response. you got down on your knees, pulling her gray sweats down, seeing her imprint in her boxers before teasingly pulling her boxers down while looking up at her. you held her hard on with one hand as you gave a gentle lick to her tip, getting a taste of her precum that had started to ooze out. heejin brought a hand down to your hair, grabbing a handful while uttering praises of how good you were doing already.
you got closer to the base, licking a stripe up from her balls to her tip before leaving little kisses down her shaft, licking another stripe up to the tip. the sensations made heejin lull her head back, letting her mouth open with an ‘o’ which only got bigger when she gasped as you took her tip in your mouth, circling your tongue around it.
“fuck, feels so good.” she cursed, readjusting her grip on your hair, pushing your head a bit to fit more of her length into your mouth. you gagged a bit which made heejin almost cum on the spot. she knew she was too big for you, but that was ok because she’d be sure to make up for any throat pain later.
once you let your throat adjust to how much of heejin’s length you had in your mouth, you continued to bob your head up and down at a slow pace, letting your throat adjust to more and more of her length until you had gotten down to her base. you moved back, removing her entire cock from your mouth, letting your hand jerk her off to spread your saliva for extra lubrication, making sure to rub your thumb across her tip when it got to the top. heejin was starting to get impatient, it seemed like you were teasing at this point and she wasn’t having it.
heejin brought her other hand up to grab another chunk of your hair before telling you to move your hand, slamming her cock into your mouth, hearing you gag, but not caring anymore. heejin proceeded to fuck your mouth, letting out grunts and moans as you continued to gag, tears rolling down your face from the constant gagging.
“look up at me, let me see those tearing eyes of yours, slut.” heejin said, to which you obediently did, staring up at her with teary eyes as she proceeded to roughly fuck your face. you attempted to flatten out your tongue more and when you did, it sent a wave of pleasure over heejin which caused her to thrust once more into your mouth, shooting ropes of her thick cum down your throat. heejin heavily breathed, attempting to catch her breath as she pulled out of your mouth, a string of saliva mixed with cum following. heejin let go of your hair, ruffling it up as she watched you swallow any leftover cum.
“you did such an amazing job for me, drink some water because i’m not done with you yet.” heejin held her water bottle towards you as she menacingly looked at the wall with mirrors along it.

a soulmate who wasn't meant to be
jeon heejin x fem!reader
warm hugs that lingers a bit too long and loving gazes that seems more than friendly. all the hints told you that jeon heejin liked you back, or that you have a chance at least. so why are the both of you hurting? roughly inspired by the song of the same title by jess benko.
! : angst, betrayal (leading someone on), rejection, heejin why???
2.7k words
Tumblr media
It’s so frustrating.
Perhaps it is the worst decision you’ve ever made.
And unfortunately, you can’t take back what you’ve said.
You could feel the tears that are continuously streaming down your face but you couldn’t care less at the moment; you felt so vulnerable, so weak, so small in front of her.
The girl who you thought had shared the same feelings as you did.
And so you ran as fast as you could, and in no time, you reached the comfort of your home. You were heavily panting as you felt a crushing sensation in your chest.
"Y/N?" Your roommate approached you, wiping her eyes and she yawned. She took another good look at you when you didn’t respond and gasped softly at the sight of you.
Tumblr media
"I don’t want to force you into anything," You said shakily, "Because I know that wouldn’t be fair to you."
Heejin’s eyes start to get glossy; she had seen this sight before, but this time, she’s the one who’s causing the damage.
You closed your eyes shut and inhaled deeply before continuing "...But if there’s even just a small chance that this could work…"
"There isn’t," Heejin said sternly. She really hates that she had to be brutally honest with you and cause more of your tears to fall, but she believed that she had no other choice.
It’s for your own sake.
She was just sparing you from a bigger heartbreak.
All of a sudden, you could feel the familiar pain in your chest. "Right… I’ve been here," You thought.
You stared at your feet and attempted to wipe the tears on your face, and you can’t help but chuckle sarcastically at the absurdity of the situation that you were in, "I guess I never learn."
Heejin was about to reach out to you, her concern growing every second that passes; you’re her best friend after all.
But before her hand even gets to brush yours, you took a step back like her touch was the most dangerous thing in the world. Although at this moment, it really seemed like it was.
Heejin’s eyebrows knit together as she stared at your frame, "Y/N…"
"I’m sorry," You stated without meeting her eyes, "For taking advantage of your friendship…" You trailed off. Heejin shakes her head, the guilt is starting to eat her alive, "No, Y/N it’s–"
"I’m sorry," was all she heard before seeing you flee the scene, and in an instant, you were gone.
All she could do was stand there and hope that you would get over her and find someone who would love and appreciate you the way you deserved.
Tumblr media
Heejin was dragging her feet as she went back to the dorms. The first one to greet her as she opened the door was Sooyoung, who smiled warmly at her, but the smile immediately fell as she saw how worn out her friend looked.
Sooyoung hesitates for a second, but she asks cautiously, "Heejin, are you okay?" Their members’ eyes landed on them as they heard the girl’s concerned voice asking that question, and they stared in shock at how the dark-haired girl looked.
Heejin leaves her shoes by the doorway before heading in the direction of her room, ignoring her unnie’s question and her members’ stares altogether.
As she finally arrives at the safety of her room, she immediately lies on her bed, hoping that when she wakes up, everything will be fine; that everything that had happened beforehand was all a cruel nightmare.
She hoped that she hadn’t just broken your heart into millions of tiny pieces. "There’s nothing else I could do," Heejin thought to herself.
All Heejin wanted was to close her eyes and forget about the events that occurred earlier, but unfortunately for her, she wasn’t able to get any sleep that night.
Tumblr media
You could not believe how it all went downhill so fast. Heejin has always been there for you ever since you were kids, and you made sure that you'll always be the person that she'll run to when she's faced with problems.
Back in the day, the problems that you would talk about are not having enough money to buy the candy bar in the convenience store which turned to not getting enough rest and having a math exam the next day, which also turned to Heejin doubting whether she has what it takes to debut as the first member of LOONA, until the problems that the both of you discussed relatively developed as the both of you matured.
Jeon Heejin was your best friend before anything else. She's the friend that you would always lean on, and you were most definitely that person for her as well, even when she was met with eleven other girls that seemed as though they were destined to be together.
Naturally, she became preoccupied when she debuted as an idol, but somehow, the girl always managed to find time to hangout with you and to catch up, feeling as though something's missing when she doesn't get to spend time with you, and frankly, you felt the same way.
While Heejin followed her dreams, you tried to achieve yours as well, staying at the same school which you and Heejin attended, until eventually, you had to transfer to a university and attain higher education.
Sometimes, you felt that it was so overwhelming; having a famous friend is proven to be a struggle especially when hanging out with her in public, which was why both of you agreed to meet up in your apartment instead or go out during the evening whenever the both of you wanted to hangout.
In all honesty, you couldn't really remember when you started harboring feelings toward your friend, all you remember was that she had always been the person that you cared about the most, and you only confirmed your attraction towards your friend when you saw that she was being shipped with one of her members named Hyunjin. Although you know that the pair were nothing but friends, you couldn't help but feel the slight possessiveness especially knowing that they spent more time together than Heejin did with you.
But even as a friend, Heejin never failed to reassure you that she's there for you despite all the demands of being an idol. You felt guilty because for some reason, it felt wrong to be attracted to a friend like Heejin when she is being the best friend anyone could ask for, so you tried to find someone else.
Tumblr media
"Are you sure about her?" Heejin asked, looking skeptical.
"Look, Heejin, you don't have to interrogate me," you said, trying to ease your friend's worries, "She's cute, she's smart, she's talented, she can literally do everything!" You exclaimed, and Heejin kept eye contact with a sour look on her face, "I mean, she's been giving me all these signals, so it might be safe to assume that I have a chance."
The girl sighed, and you had no idea why she was suddenly being so protective and pessimistic, "But what if she's playing you?" Heejin asked bluntly, "Look, I'm sorry, but I really don't trust this girl."
"Why not?" You inquired, Heejin took a deep breath before replying, "Because I don't know her," the then blonde replied truthfully, her right hand grabbed one of yours then placed her other hand on top of it, "I just don't want you to get hurt, Y/N."
The simple and harmless action made you blush profusely, feeling your face heat up at her words and her actions, but you tried to play it off, shoving her before replying, "You don't have to worry about me, I can handle myself."
However, you definitely couldn't. That night, you came back to your apartment with tears slowly streaming down your face, and Heejin was there to hold you. Most of the time, she wasn't, but she was usually just a call away.
Rubbing small circles on your back as she held you close to her body, she tried to comfort you, "Hey, it's alright, I'm here, I won't leave you."
You couldn't help but sob at her words. Truthfully, you really did find the girl attractive, but you didn't like her the way you did for Heejin; no one can compare to her. But that doesn't mean that you didn't feel betrayed by the girl you confessed to, because you did and it hurts.
It turns out that she was not attracted to girls at all; the reason why she acted like she was interested in you was because she wanted to get back at you, despite not doing anything wrong. According to the girl, her boyfriend that she was dating in secret seems to be attracted to you, so she wanted to get her revenge.
After hearing your explanation, Heejin rolled her hands into a fist, wanting nothing more than to confront the girl that messed with the person she cared about the most.
In all honesty, Heejin was unsure whether her feelings toward you were platonic or if it were something more, but she knew better than to do something about it. She doesn't want to ruin the years of friendship that both of you built from the ground up, and if something does happen, she fears that things might go wrong and everyone she cares about would be negatively impacted by it—if somehow it all becomes public, she's afraid that it might hurt LOONA's reputation, and people including her 'supporters' might come after you.
As a result of those fears, she tries not to think about the uncertain emotions that she feels and simply protects you from the harshness and cruelty of the world, not knowing that someday, she will be the one causing you immense pain.
Tumblr media
Heejin woke up the next morning with a heavy heart, the things that had happened the night before evoked different emotions from her, and now she feels emotionally drained, and although she has her members with her, she still craves for your presence.
The girl got up and reached for her phone. The time 2:58 p.m. greeted her harshly, remembering how she was only able to fall asleep at dawn. Heejin had a problem sleeping all night, thinking about how she hurt you, but she kept repeating the same thing in her head: she's doing this for your own good.
She heard a soft knock on her door and saw Haseul's head peeking in.
"Hey, are you up?" The leader asked. Heejin nodded her head before stretching out her arms, "Yeah, I'm sorry, I overslept."
Haseul smiled at the younger member, shaking her head, "Typical Heejin," she thought.
"You don't have to apologize, Heejin," The leader said softly, a gentle smile drawn on her lips, "I heard something happened," she tried to open the topic as she cautiously sat on the girl's bed, "Do you want to talk about it?"
Her leader's voice and comfort was enough to break down the walls that Heejin built as the tears started falling, her palms immediately finding their way to cover her eyes, curling up on the bed.
Haseul looks at the girl with concern laced in her features, she scoots closer to the younger girl then wraps her arms around the poor girl's body, "I'm here, Heejin. All of us are. If you need someone to lean on, we're here to help you."
"I know," Heejin's voice sounded so broken, it made the leader felt more protective of the girl, "But Y/N," Heejin sobbed, and that's when Haseul knew that something bad must've happened, "I can't say the same thing about her, not anymore."
"What do you mean? What happened?" Haseul asked anxiously. Everyone in LOONA knows just how much the both of you treasured each other, so Haseul couldn't help but get worried at her member's words.
"I messed up, unnie," Heejin cried harder. Haseul tried to comfort the girl by drawing circles on her back, but they both know that no matter how hard they try, Heejin's heart was already broken.
Tumblr media
As much as you tried to forget about your ex best friend, it proved to be an impossible task. Partly because almost every little thing reminded you of her; clothes, pictures, restaurants, parks, heck even your own room. It also doesn't help that she is gaining more and more attention in South Korea, increasing her brand deals which means that you could practically see her everywhere.
You checked the time on your wrist watch before hurrying to leave. It has already been two years since your last encounter with Heejin, but everyday without her hurts the same. You thought that maybe after you graduate from college and start getting preoccupied with your career, you would finally move on from her, but you couldn't be more wrong.
Walking through the busy streets of Seoul, you tried to hurry so that you wouldn't be late for work. However, the sight before you caused you to stop walking altogether.
There she was, as beautiful as ever, the woman that your heart ached for.
Heejin was standing three stores in front of you, wearing a uniform that the shop provided which means she's probably shooting promotional content as she works part-time for them.
"What are the odds?" you thought, as you felt the cracks on your heart shattering once again. Seeing her bright and beautiful smile gave you so many memories that it felt overwhelming, suffocating even, and that's when you realize that all those little things and places that reminded you of her as well as those posters of her that you see on the streets were nothing compared to actually seeing her in the flesh.
As much as you want to move and run as fast as you can just to escape, your body seems to forbid you from doing so, your eyes still locked on the figure of your past.
And without realizing, your eyes started to become so glossy that you could barely see the girl's features. All of a sudden, all those feelings of regret started coming back to you, wishing that you could go back in time to the day the two of you met, wishing that you could simply ignore her as she tried to befriend you, wishing that you could retract all your steps and erase your history with the girl because you knew that it was the only way for you to move on from the hurt of the rejection you faced.
Because now, as you look into her eyes, you realize that she's simply someone that you used to know; a stranger who knows all your secrets, someone who can make you and break you.
Even as you tried to stop it from happening, you felt the tears cascade from your eyes as you stood there, still frozen on your spot.
You dropped your gaze to the ground and wiped the tears, hindering it from falling any further, and just as you did, the woman responsible for your heartbreak glanced at your direction, squinting her eyes as she saw a familiar figure standing at a distance, then her professional grin gradually dropped, realizing who she was looking at, especially as she figured that you were indeed crying, in public—something that you hated doing.
Heejin is once again reminded of how she was the reason why your friendship ended. Yes, you were the one who confessed, but your confession does not have to put an end to your friendship—it was all on Heejin. At that moment, she was reminded of how you gave her the world and she broke your heart in return; how she let her fears overcome her and how she chose her career over you.
And as you returned your gaze on the celebrity, you realized that she was already aware of your presence, staring at your figure. In a split second, your eyes met, but it didn't feel the same way it did before. Everything felt wrong. And just like the speed of her rejection, she immediately broke eye contact, smiling at the camera as they were about to shoot.

What Could Have Been..
Ha Sooyoung x F!Reader (Ft. Heejin & Chuu)
Genre: Angst, Sprinkled in Fluff
Warnings: Swearing, Loneliness, Rejection
Word Count: 7.1k
Buy Me A Coffee :)
Tumblr media
A melodious chuckle slipped past your lips as you skipped down the stone path, arm linked with your best friend’s as the wind blew in your hair. Both of you were uncaring of the world around you, paying no mind to the odd looks shot your way from any lingering strangers strolling through the dully illuminated park. You couldn't remember what prompted this sudden burst of energy, but all you knew was that you’d never felt more free. In a land far away from the one filled with burdensome obligations, the only one in which you could achieve true happiness. Ha Sooyoung was your key to that world.
Without her it was simply black and white. She was your everything. Sooyoung brought meaning to your colourless life, setting it ablaze with her charming personality. She was by your side through thick and thin, always offering you a dazzling smile and a friendship that would last a lifetime. She’d first approached you at a dance competition in which you’d attended to support a friend, but you’d managed to catch her eye as you cheered passionately in the crowd. It was then that she knew she wanted you to be the one cheering for her in the future. All it took was a few flirty lines, shared giggles and the rest was history. Texting each other nonstop turned into daily face times and then weekly gatherings.
Two years later and you were still attached at the hip, spending every waking moment with each other. No matter where you were, if you were together, nothing else mattered. But as the months ticked by, things began to change. When you looked at her you were struck with an unexplainable feeling, something completely unknown. Sooyoung’s gentle gaze as she tried to playfully cheer you up when sad had butterflies fluttering to life inside your stomach. Her smug smile as she let a witty line roll carelessly off her tongue made heat rush to your cheeks. Every time her hand brushed against yours and she silently laced them together, biting back a shy smile as your heart jumped to life in your chest.
You were hopelessly in love with Ha Sooyoung.
She had you wrapped around her finger with ease. You couldn’t help but read into her actions, giving you the slightest glimmer of hope that she may actually return your feelings of adoration. The closeness of your friendship made it feel as though you had already engaged in a courtship. You held hands, cuddled, shared beds, went out on ‘dates’, she even kissed your cheek or forehead each time you parted ways. You were stuck between what was and what could be. When she was with you, everything was perfect, but when you were alone, questions regarding the relationship flooded your mind. More than friends, yet less than lovers.
“Y/n? Are you still with me?” Sooyoung asked, poking your cheek, she chuckled at your spaced out expression. Blinking rapidly, you stumbled back slightly at the close proximity of your faces, a pink hue tainting your cheeks. “Where’d that pretty little head of yours take you?” She inquired, raising a perfectly sculpted brow in curiosity. “It’s nothing,” you mumbled, averting your gaze shyly. “Is nothing really more important than being with your favourite person in the universe?” She teased, a smug expression already creeping onto her face. Grumbling, you sent a glare her way, slapping her shoulder playfully. “You’re such a flirt!” You complained, rolling your eyes at her witty line.
“How can I not flirt with someone as gorgeous as you~” She joked, wrapping an arm around your shoulders as she pulled you closer. “Shut up!” You exclaimed, eyes wide as you attempted to push her off you, but she only tugged you impossibly closer. Ducking your head in hopes of hiding the bright blush that spread across your face, you muttered profanities under your breath. You weren’t sure when, but the two of you began to stroll through the empty park, there was something dangerously calming about the silent night in Sooyoung’s arms. “I just had a terrible idea,” she whispered in your ear, pulling back as she eagerly awaited your response.
“Do I even wanna know?” You asked, gazing up to her with raised brows. “It doesn’t matter, you’ll do it with me anyway,” she grinned, holding her hand out to you expectantly. “I swear to god Sooyoung, I better not hate you after this.” You grumbled, reluctantly placing your hand in hers. You were swiftly yanked after Sooyoung as she dragged you further into the moonlit park. “You could never hate me!” She yelled over her shoulder smugly, pulling you towards the park's water feature. “Please tell me this isn’t what I think it is,” you whined as she came to an abrupt halt before a blast of water came shooting out from the ground.
Sooyoung turned to you with a mischevious grin, unable to hide the amusement that danced in her eyes. “You only live once,” she declared, shrugging her shoulders as she gazed at the several spurts of water bursting into the air. “I’d rather live without being drenched in a fountain at midnight,” you deadpanned, trying to free your hand from your grasp, but to no avail. “That’s just too bad,” Sooyoung hummed, a feigned expression of faux disappointment masking her features as she shook her head, tutting in disapproval. Your eyes widened as you were suddenly jerked under the spray of water, shrieking as it came in contact with you.
“YAH! HA SOOYOUNG!” You shouted, glaring up at the taller girl. She broke down in a fit of laughter, grasping at her stomach as it tensed with her joy. “I’m gonna kill you,” you yelled as she hastily ripped her hand from yours, darting into the spray of water in hopes of escaping your wrath. You wasted no time in breaking out into a sprint, chasing after her as she led you in circles. Laughter bubbled from your chests as you crashed into each other, her arms wrapping securely around your waist to ensure you didn’t slip. “You’re something else, Ha Sooyoung,” you stated, shaking your head in amusement.
“Hey, I’m older than you,” she scolded, playfully patting your butt with a teasing grin. “You’re already here now, no harm in staying, right?” She persuaded, using that dazzling smile of hers to convince you. “I hate you,” you groaned, letting your head fall on her shoulder, the fabric of your clothing sticking to your skin. “Lies,” her chest shook with laughter, the fountains spray landing water droplets on your head. “Would you care for a dance, M’Lady?” She asked, your ears picking up on the faintest music from afar, likely from a quaint cafe. “That’s your thing, not mine,” you reminded, content to just stay as you were.
“Just follow my lead,” she urged, grasping your hands and bringing them up to her neck. Rolling your eyes, you let your hands rest on her shoulders, attempting to ignore how close her face was to yours. You gasped as her hands gripped your hips, tugging you dangerously closer. She moved slowly to the tempo of the music, guiding you with each step she took. Sooyoung’s eyebrows were sewn together, lip jutting out in concentration. Your fingers curled into the delicate fabric of her dampened sweater, eyes roaming her face as you admired her natural beauty, features lit up by the moon's dull glow.
Once you found yourself in a rhythm, she tilted her head to meet your gaze, a ghost of a smile adorning her face. Her hand travelled up to gently caress your cheek, brushing a dampened strand of hair that stuck to your face behind your ear, the wet tangle tickling your neck. Her hand paused at your jaw, eyes staring deeply into your own, swirling with an emotion foreign to you. “Sooyoung..” you uttered in a whisper, eyes wide with intrigue. She hummed lowly, a far away look reflecting in her chocolate orbs, her dark locks brushing against your fingertips as you swayed to the music.
“I like you,” you admitted, the words flying from your parted lips before you had the chance to process them. One slip of the tongue and the fate of your friendship was left dangling by a fine thread. May it hang on, or fracture under the weight of your confession? A hint of a smile quirked the corner of her lips, your eyes shining hopefully, carefully observing for any details that may soften the blow of whatever was to come. It vanished just as quickly as it appeared, her forehead creasing in a conflicted frown. Sooyoung’s lips parted, but no words followed, the eerie silence of the still night ringing in your ears.
The intimate slow dance you shared came to an awkward halt, Sooyoung’s hand slipping from your face, your skin burning at the loss of contact. “I’m sorry,” Sooyoung choked out, the words piercing your heart. You swiftly nodded your head in understanding, a wordless plea for her not to continue, the outcome already made painfully clear. Sooyoung’s gaze was fixed on her shoes, as fidgeted with the hems of her sleeves, scuffing her boot against the stone. “I don’t know what to say,” she huffed as you sunk your teeth into your bottom lip, clenching your jaw in a desperate attempt to hold back your tears.
“I wish I could accept your feelings..” She trailed off, an uncomfortably tense atmosphere looming over the both of you. “It’s fine, I should probably get going anyway.” You rushed out, voice wavering as you blinked back the tears that threatened to fall. Quick to turn on your heel, you settled on escaping the scene as quickly as possible. “Wait! It’s late, at least let me walk you home,” Sooyoung grasped your wrist gently, forehead creased in a frown. You reluctantly turned to meet her gaze, fresh tears cascading down your cheeks, hoping the light spray of the fountain would mask your anguish.
Sooyoung’s grip loosened, eyes shining with tears of her own as she glanced at your bleak expression, your eyes dull. You wordlessly tugged your hand from hers, sniffling as you hastily walked away from her. She let you go. Sooyoung stared after you, watching attentively as you faded into the darkness of the night, her heart painfully thumping in her chest, aching with loss. “Fuck,” she muttered profanities under her breath, frustratedly running her hand through her hair. She merely stood numbly under the shower of water, letting it soak her clothes. She couldn’t bring herself to move, letting the water streak down her face alongside her freshly shed tears.
~~
You lay lifelessly in your bed, staring up at the ceiling blankly, ignoring the persistent grumble of your stomach. The day had progressed far too slowly for your liking, giving you far too much time to dwell on the previous night's catastrophe. Your emotions were yet to settle, a jumble of embarrassment, sadness and uncertainty remained with you. Unsure of the path your friendship with Sooyoung would lead to after this stumble. You awoke to a few stray messages from Sooyoung, subtly checking up on you, and asking if you wanted to hang out. You cringed at the thought, brushing her off with ease, saying you were feeling under the weather, not a complete lie.
A part of you felt bad, but you simply couldn’t bear to face her right now. You knew she still cared for you deeply, as did you, hating to think this must have troubled her too. You were relieved that she didn’t hate you for your abrupt confession, but that didn’t numb the pain of rejection. Opting to take a day off from life, you let your duvet swallow you whole, remaining unbothered by the hunger attempting to force you from your bed. Three heavy knocks on your wooden door startled you from your dazed state, jolting you up from your bed. Luck just wasn’t on your side lately.
Tying your tangled hair up in an attempt to maintain your decency, you pulled the door open with a frustrated sigh. Blinking in shock at the sight before you, your brows furrowed together in confusion. “Hey,” Sooyoung mumbled sheepishly, nervously scratching the back of her neck, a paper bag grasped tightly in her free hand. “Hey?” You questioned, warily stepping to the side to let her in. You weren’t cruel enough to make her awkwardly stand in the cold no matter how tense you were. Clicking the door shut, you turned to watch her curiously as she placed the bag on your counter.
“You said you were sick,” she explained, pulling a container of your favourite soup from it. Your heart ached as butterflies fluttered to life in your stomach, conflicted by her kind consideration. “Thank you, you didn’t have to,” you expressed your gratitude, trying to remember that she was still your friend, not just the person who shattered your heart into a million fine shards. “It’s the least I can do, it’s my fault you’re sick anyway. If I hadn’t dragged you into that water,” she stated regretfully, gazing at you apologetically. The silence was deafening, both of you just staring into eachothers eyes. Sooyoung’s chocolate orbs lit up as she reached back into the brown paper bag, breaking the silence as she riffled through it.
You couldn’t help but smile as she triumphantly held up your favourite movie in an attempt to cheer you up. She grinned at the sight, fulfilling her duties as your best friend, even if she was the one who’d caused you pain, she wouldn’t leave you stranded alone to wallow in your sadness. She settled on the couch, forehead creasing in a frown as you chose to sit in the furthest place from her. Sooyoung could hardly blame you for keeping your distance, but it didn’t make it hurt any less. As the movie progressed, you let out a few laughs, momentarily forgetting about everything that had transpired and just enjoying the company of your best friend.
One too many laughs had triggered a coughing fit to bubble up your throat. “Shit, Y/n!” Sooyoung cursed, rushing off to get you a glass of water before clumsily stumbling back to your side. You carefully gulped down the cold liquid, syphoning it to your tongue. Sooyoung’s hand resided on your back, rubbing it encouragingly as you recovered. She pressed the palm of her free hand to your forehead, scowling at the heat it emitted. “You’re burning up,” she informed, glancing at your wide eyed self. You awkwardly shuffled backwards, brushing off her hand, teeth sinking into your bottom lip in contemplation.
“Y/n..” She whispered, eyes reflecting a look of hurt. You pulled your knees up to your chest, feeling small under her gaze. “I’m sorry..” You trailed off, glancing to the empty bowl of homemade soup that lay before the glowing television screen. “I really do appreciate everything you’ve done for me,” you started, anxiously picking at the skin of your fingers. “But I think I just need some space,” you confessed, unable to meet her gaze. Sooyoung’s heart panged in her chest, hopelessly staring at your curled up figure. “I wish I was okay, I tried so hard to act like everything was fine..” You muttered guiltily, sighing at the current predicament.
“But to be honest, I’d be lying to you and myself if I kept going like this.” You admitted, voice trembling unsteadily. Sooyoung nodded in understanding, unsuccessful in blinking back her tears, letting them freely cascade down her cheeks. You were no better, meeting her gaze with tired eyes that shone with tears of your own. She wordlessly begins her retreat from your apartment, lingering near the door for a painful minute. “I’m sorry, Y/n.” Is all she says before slipping out of the door. “I hope this isn’t the end for us,” she whispers against the closed wooden door before reluctantly making her descent down the stone steps.
~~
The prospect of reaching out to Sooyoung only grew more tempting as time passed on, but you couldn’t trust your heart not to fall back into old patterns. It once beat for her, and there was no telling whether it would again or not. One look at her sweet smile and you were bound to fall prey to her charms all over again. Your heart ached in your chest at the thought, longing to be in her alluring presence once more. You had to move on, otherwise you would risk losing your friendship for more than just a temporary break. Unfortunately, overcoming your not so platonic feelings for Ha Sooyoung was a lot easier said than done.
There were several occasions in which you reached for your phone out of habit, wanting to text her about what was going on in your life or just to hear her voice again. You missed her so much it pained you to even think of her, how her soothing voice would always lull you to sleep on face time calls. The more you thought about everything she once was to you, the more you began to hate all those things that made you love her. What you despised most was that you couldn’t really hate her, she was not at fault for your misery. You were the one who had fallen hopelessly in love and now you were paying the price.
~~
Sooyoung hated how lost she was without you in her life. The two of you were constantly joined at the hip, her attention always focused solely on you. The distance only made things worse for Sooyoung. You were always on her mind, distracting her from her studies and keeping her up for numerous sleepless nights. You even invaded her dreams, images of how hurt and defeated you’d looked that day. She was always there to comfort you, no matter what the world thrust upon you. But she couldn’t live with the thought of her being the cause of your anguish.
She respected your wishes, keeping her distance and not making any contact with you. But oh how it pained her to do so. Sooyoung would always catch herself just before she clicked send on a drafted message intended for you. She had to fight so hard to resist the temptation of just showing up at your doorstep and admitting to everything she’d been hiding from you. How she had gotten accepted as a trainee at Block Berry Creative after going to the audition she’d told you about. You were the first person she would’ve called. She knows that she would have to give up the idea of a love life in favour of her dreams, that was the harsh reality of idol life. She was so tempted to throw it all away for you.
~~
As time went on, you began to heal, the distance doing great things for your heart. Regretfully, you never reached out to Sooyoung in fear of landing back at square one. Before you knew it, a year had passed and you had both gone your separate ways. Sooyoung had debuted as a member of Loona shortly after you two parted ways, and was swept up in idol life, giving her no time to reach out to you. She was so busy all the time, working tirelessly in the studio to perfect her talents, hardly given the chance to reminisce about the past. A part of her still longed for you, wishing that the outcome had been different, but it was too late to take it back now.
You strolled through the bustling streets with a pep in your step, phone clasped tightly in one hand, an iced latte in the other. The incessant honking horns of passing cars caught in traffic did nothing to deter your mood. You’d officially completed your studies and had been accepted to work at your dream job as an intern. Today was your day to celebrate, and you were determined to not let anything get in the way of your happiness. Overly caught up in your excitement, you failed to notice the vehicle speeding towards the crossing as you stepped onto it with purpose.
A piercing screech of tyre alerted you, snapping your head up, your lips parted in shock at the sight of a car barreling towards you at top speed. Scrunching your face up, you screwed your eyes shut in fear, accepting of the fate bestowed upon you. Expecting impact, you were startled by the harsh tug on your arm, stumbling backwards into your saviour’s chest. Your heart was pounding rapidly in your chest, unwilling to force your eyes open, plagued with fear and uncertainty about the events that had transpired.
“You should really be more careful,” a gruff voice commented in your ear, strong arms wrapping securely around your torso. You were thankful for the assistance, your knees having given out from shock. You felt oddly safe in the strangers arms, finding comfort in the security. “Are you okay?” She questioned, tone gentler this time, perhaps realising her initial comment may have been too harsh. You began to hesitantly nod your head, reluctantly removing yourself from the comfort of her arms. “Yeah, just peachy. It’s not everyday you almost die,” you attempted humour as a method of coping with the near death experience.
“Thank you, by the way,” you gazed into her chocolate brown eyes, forming a plan to express your gratitude. “No worries,” she nodded in acknowledgement, shifting her weight from one leg to another as you continued to stare up at her. “Are you sure you’re alright? I’m afraid that if I leave you alone again you may go stumbling in front of a stampede,” she joked, quirking a brow. “Then I suppose you’ll just have to save me again,” you grinned as she chuckled, running a hand through her dark locks. “Sure, princess,” she smirked, a blush spreading across your cheeks at the witty remark.
“I’m Heejin, by the way,” she introduced, a smug smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
~~
“Sooyoung unnie,” Yerim called out to the dazed girl, pulling her back to reality. She hummed in response, glancing at the younger in curiosity. “What is it?” She questioned upon seeing the mischievous sparkle in Yerim’s large eyes. “Have you ever been in love?” She asked, an expression of innocence plastered on her youthful features. Sooyoung cleared her throat in surprise, eyes widening at the sudden boldness the younger had acquired. “Why, you haven’t been seeing anyone have you?” She teased, but there was an undertone of worry. She was so young, and the industry was brutal to those who happened to find love. Sooyoung knew that all too well.
“No, I’m too young for that,” Yerim shook her head rapidly in denial, frantically waving her hands about. “I’m only curious, you seem like you’d have more experience than the others,” she continued an eager smile adorning her lips. Sighing, Sooyoung shook her head in mild exhaustion, begging to stand. “It’s a long story, maybe another time,” she attempted to retire to her room, only to be stopped by a firm grip on her wrist. Spinning on her heel, Sooyoung raised a challenging brow at Heejin, who was previously seated quietly beside her. “I’m curious too,” she shrugged her shoulders, releasing her grip on the oldests hand.
“Fine,” Sooyoung huffed, giving in easily and plopping down on the comfortable couch cushions. “What do you want to know then?” She grunted, rolling her eyes in amusement at the way they eagerly approached her sides. “What’s it like?” Yerim asked, clasping her hands together in anticipation. “Love hurts,” the oldest stated bluntly, arms crossed over her chest in slight discomfort at the topic. “It’s not always sunshine and rainbows,” she continued, ignoring the way their eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “It doesn’t always work out,” Sooyoung said, a frown creeping onto her face as images of you infiltrated her mind.
“I loved someone,” she admitted, the words tasting bitter on her tongue. She had wished that you would be the one to hear this confession, it was meant for you after all. “And they loved me too,” Sooyoung uttered, a sad smile adorning her lips. She couldn’t bear to glance at Yerim’s hopeful gaze, it reminded her too much of how you’d looked at her the fateful night it all went wrong. “But love isn’t that simple, it’s more complex than two people sharing feelings for one another.” The oldest sunk her teeth into her pink lips, releasing a shaky breath.
“What do you mean?” Heejin asked, forehead creased in a frown. “I mean it takes more than that. No matter how much you love someone it doesn’t mean it’s the right time, and the moment you realise that is one of the most painful things you can experience.” Sooyoung elaborated, blinking back tears threatening to fall. “Sometimes things don’t work out, and that’s just the way of the world and there's nothing we can do but wonder what could have been,” she finished, abruptly rising to her feet.
Yerim stared after her in curiosity, tilting her head to the side, gnawing at the inside of her cheek in concern. Left restless by her members' blunt confessions, Yerim stumbled to her feet, staggering after Sooyoung. Heejin remained stiffly seated, toying with the hem of her shirt as she pondered the oldests words. She didn’t want to love only to wonder what it could have been. It felt worthless. If there was even the slightest chance that this was the right time for her, she wasn’t going to risk sitting back in fear of losing everything.
~~
You sat on your couch, chin perched atop your first as you gazed up at the television screen. Immersed in the drama, the rapid knocks on the door of your apartment almost went unnoticed. Huffing, you begrudgingly lifted yourself from the soft cushion, shuffling over to the door with reluctance. The hinges whined in protest as you carelessly swung it open, eyebrows sewn together in confusion at the sight before you. “Heejin?” You questioned, unable to mask the surprise that laced your tone.
It wasn’t uncommon for her to spend time passing in your apartment, but she wasn’t one to show up out of the blue. Ever since that fateful day she’d saved you from early demise, an unlikely friendship has blossomed between the two of you. You struggled to recall how you’d become so close so quickly, but you knew she made you happy, and that was all that truly mattered. She had a unique charm, as if an invisible force was pulling the two of you together. Heejin was a breath of fresh air, and you were her escape from the chaos that stormed her life on a daily basis.
“Hey, can I come in?” She asked, tone gentle as she gazed at you. “Do you even have to ask?” You smiled, moving aside so she could step past the threshold. You both made yourselves comfortable on the couch, sitting side by side, knees brushing against each other. Heejin’s eyes were instantly drawn to where your skin met hers, staring down in contemplation. You waited patiently for her to speak, stealing glances at her every few moments. She seemed to be having an internal battle with herself, gaze conflicted as she anxiously fiddled with her fingers.
“I don’t want you to hate me,” she began, lips twisting into a frown. “Heejin, I could never hate you,” you smiled reassuringly, reaching out to grasp her hand in your own. “I would like to believe that, but you can’t be certain, Y/n.” She muttered, sinking her teeth into the soft flesh of her bottom lip. “I promise I won’t,” you proposed, holding a pinky up to her. Sighing, she merely stared at your offered hand, brows furrowing in uncertainty. “Trust me,” you grinned, meeting her conflicted gaze. “I do,” she admitted, avoiding your gaze.
“Then tell me what’s troubling you so I can make it better,” you coaxed, watching as her hesitance began to crumble. “I like you, Y/n.” She confessed, surprised as the grin on your face never faded. “I like you too, Heejin,” you smiled, patting her shoulder gently, platonically. “No, Y/n, you don’t understand. I like you more than a friend should,” she explained, a sad smile adorning her lips. Your eyes widened in shock, mind working overtime to process her words carefully. “Why?” The words rolled off your tongue before you could stop them, wincing regretfully as soon as they left your mouth.
“For as long as I’ve known you, you’re all that I’ve been able to think about.” She admitted, a hint of a smile tugging at her lips. “Everything about you drives me insane, and I don’t want to spend a second wondering what I could be missing out on, not if I have a chance.” She declared, a determined look crossing her face. “I know you’ve been hurt before, Y/n. But if there’s even the slightest chance that you reciprocate my feelings I’d wait until the time is right, because you’re worth staying for.” She confessed, unable to stop the smile from spreading across her features.
“However, I understand if you don’t feel the same,” she acknowledged. When she finally took a moment to look at you, she was surprised by the toothy grin you greeted her with. “You’re smiling? You’re happy?” She spoke aloud, brows furrowing in mild confusion. “Of course I’m happy, don’t act so shocked.” You grinned bashfully, ducking your head in order to hide the rosy blush that tainted your cheeks. “I don’t think I understand,” Heejin shook her head, perplexed by your sudden joy. She glanced hopelessly at you, head tilting in bewilderment.
“I like you too, Heejin. More than a friend should,” you beamed, watching as the gears in her head began to turn. Blinking in surprise, scepticism filled her gaze. “I don’t know where this leaves us, but I want to take whatever ‘this’ is slowly.” You said, motioning between the two of you. Finally beginning to wrap her head around the situation, Heejin nodded eagerly, eyes shining with excitement. “Of course, anything for you,” she agreed, unable to stop herself from pulling you into a crushing hug. You giggled fondly at her, wrapping your arms around her neck, mirroring her happiness with a genuine smile of your own.
~~
Sooyoung stared blankly at the wall ahead of her, eyes void of any emotion. The chaos of her members' shouts fell deaf in her ears, her eyebrows sewn together in contemplation. She couldn’t help the feeling of loneliness that overcame her, it was puzzling. She was surrounded by the people she loved most, and yet she had never felt more alone. It had been over a year, but allowing her mind to slip back into thoughts of you sent her spiralling. She wanted a world in which she didn’t have to choose between her passion and her motivation. Pursuing a dream without you by her side felt much less rewarding.
So she allowed herself to wonder on sleepless nights, imagining the life she never stood a chance at. Sooyoung put herself through constant agony just to catch a glimpse of happiness. Thinking of you brought her nothing but joy, it was realising you were never going to have your happy ending that tortured her. There were times that she wondered where life would have taken her if she’d accepted your confession on that fateful day. She wouldn't have been able to debut and then would have never met any of her closest friends, those whom she considered her family.
A gentle tap on her shoulder had her blinking out of her daze, turning to face the source. “Are you alright?” Jiwoo asked, worry written on her face, eyes boring into Sooyoung’s soul. The older merely hummed in response, guilt clouding her mind as she avoided the concerned gaze of her member. She wondered how she could ever possibly imagine a life without them, regret instantly filled her mind at the thought. “Are you sure? You’ve been staring at the wall for a while,” the younger girl pressed further, reaching out to grasp Sooyoung’s hand. “Yeah, I was just thinking,” the taller girl answered softly, giving her hand a reassuring squeeze before retracting it.
“Okay, if you insist.” Jiwoo nodded in understanding, not entirely convinced by the older girl's claim. “You know I’m here for you, right?” The shorter girl asked, lips jutting out in a pout. Sooyoung grinned appreciatively, surprising the younger with a sudden hug. “Thank you,” she expressed her gratitude, not knowing just how much she longed to hear those words. Jiwoo mirrored her smile with one much brighter, gazing at Sooyoung with nothing but adoration. “Oh! Haseul asked me to let you know that Heejin is bringing a friend over for games night,” Jiwoo abruptly exclaimed upon remembering her initial reason for approaching the older girl.
~~
All twelve members were spread across the living room and kitchen. The younger half focused on picking out a plethora of games, occasionally wandering into the kitchen to steal snacks. The older girls prepared multiple bowls of snacking food, pulling a wide range of drinks from their fridge. They normally weren’t as organised, but Haseul insisted on creating a good first impression on Heejin’s friend before exposing their chaotic selves. Though it was a near impossible task, when the members inevitably got out of control or overly competitive, she would at least have nicely arranged food and drinks to offer as a distraction.
A faint knock on the door caught Sooyoung’s attention, allowing her to slip away from the chaos in order to greet the guest of honour. Opening the door without a second thought, she did a double take as she caught sight of you. She had half a mind to shut the door in your face, but thankfully decided it would be against her better judgement. “Y/n?” She questioned, eyes widening and lips parting in shock. Your mouth fell open, prepared to speak, but only silence followed. The both of you merely stared at each other, unprepared for the sudden reunion. Before either of you had the chance to speak, Heejin came barreling down the hall and straight into your arms.
“Y/n!” She exclaimed, greeting you with a hug and pressing a chaste kiss to your cheek. “You act like we haven’t seen each other in months,” you grinned, avoiding eye contact with Sooyoung, who watched the two of you in confusion. “It feels like I haven’t seen you in ages,” Heejin groaned as you pushed her away gently. “Well, now that you’ve met Sooyoung unnie, let me introduce you to the rest of my members,” the younger one grasped your hand, brushing past Sooyoung as she tugged you towards the living room.
Sooyoung remained in the doorway, stunned by your sudden reappearance in her life. Her feet were rooted to the ground as she stood unmoving, wondering if she had conjured up an illusion of your presence. Your melodious laughter echoed through the halls, likely a result of Yeojin’s outgoing personality. Sooyoung walked stiffly through the corridor, coming to a halt beside Jiwoo who eyed her curiously. “Everything alright?” She asked, gaze filled with genuine concern. The older one nodded uneasily, sneaking a glance at you. The shorter linked their arms together in comfort, offering silent understanding for her member.
Jiwoo gently tugged on her arm as everyone began to gather in a circle, keeping a hand on her at all times in order to keep her in the present moment and away from her thoughts. She remained attentive to her member as games night proceeded, glancing at her regularly, but not so often as to burden her. Jiwoo was worried about her. It wasn’t common for Sooyoung to act so dejected, she looked truly and utterly defeated by the events that were transpiring and Jiwoo couldn’t seem to understand why. No matter, she would blindly support her, concerned for her well-being. Her heart panged in her chest at the sight of her closest confidant so hurt.
Sooyoung couldn’t seem to keep her eyes off you, lingering where your hand was interlocked with Heejin. The way you two gazed at each other, sharing hushed whispers followed by shy laughter, thighs pressed flush against one another. A sad smile adorned her lips at the sight, she couldn’t help but be grateful that after all this time you were doing well. She was thankful that someone had been there for you after your parting, it brought her a sense of peace knowing that things had worked out in your favour. That you were happy. Happy without her. Better off without her. Shaking her head, she sniffled, excusing herself from the gathering.
The moment she reached her room, tears began to freely spill from her eyes, cascading down her cheeks. She buried her head in her hands, furiously wiping them away, but to no avail. The more she thought, the faster they flowed down her face. She allowed herself to finally fall prey to the feelings she’d fought so hard to suppress. She felt as though she’d lost a part of herself, never did she anticipate the newfound lightness she felt. It felt good to let it go, she was aware the sadness would plague her for days to come, but this was a start. “Sooyoung?” Your voice called into the darkness of her room.
She gazed up through teary eyes, wiping her tears in mild embarrassment as your blurred face appeared in her opened doorway. “Hey,” she mumbled, sniffling as the lamp on her bedside table flickered to light upon command. “Hey,” you greeted, awkwardly shifting your weight from one leg to another as you stared intently at the ground before you. “How have you been?” She asked, plastering a weak smile on her face. “Better lately,” you admitted, a shy smile adoring your lips. As much as the reason saddened her, she couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief hearing the words roll off your tongue.
“I’m sorry about the way things happened, I should’ve reached out,” Sooyoung muttered bitterly. You were quick to dismiss her statement, adamantly shaking your head and taking a confident step forward. “It’s my fault, I was the one who asked for space, you only respected my wishes,” you winced at the memory. “I suppose we both could have handled the situation differently,” she admitted, silently offering you a seat on her bed with a tap on the duvet. “How are you, Sooyoung?” You asked sympathetically. “Honestly? I’ve been better,” she admitted, releasing a tired sigh. You nodded briefly in acknowledgement.
A beat of silence passed, both of you unsure of how to proceed. “I’m happy for you,” Sooyoung expressed, tone conveying the utmost sincerity. One glance at her chocolate orbs that swirled integrity proved to be fatal. Your heat ached in your chest as memories of your prior friendship flooded your mind at a rate you struggled to comprehend. The disheartened, yet genuine smile that tugged at her pink lips told you a tale of her own misery as a result of the friendship's abrupt, untimely ending. At the sight of her eyes glistening with unshed tears, you felt a familiar sting in your own. “I missed you,” the words slipped past your lips carelessly.
Sooyoung knew you didn’t mean it in the way she’d dreamed of hearing it, but that was okay. “I missed you too, so much,” a choked sob ripped from her throat. She was going to be alright. Healing was a slow process, but she was ready. Ready to move on, it was time to let go of the past. “I hope we can be friends again one day,” you whispered, letting the tears freely cascade down your flushed cheeks. Friends. The word no longer infiltrated your hearts as a deadly poison, but instead became an antidote to your sorrows. “I’d really like that,” Sooyoung sent you a smile, untainted by the sadness that had once plagued her soul.
With that, you rose to your feet, Sooyoung mimicking your actions. Unable to hold yourselves back, your bodies gravitated towards each other, sharing a crushing hug. The two of you remained still for a moment, basking in the memories it brought back. “I’m proud of you, Sooyoungie,” you whispered in her ear. The words she’d longed to hear rolled off your tongue with ease, springing tears to her eyes. She couldn’t contain the overwhelming feeling of relief that overcame her, the words carrying a meaning much greater than any other praise. It was only now in this moment she knew she’d truly made it. Everything began to fall into place for Sooyoung.
A faint knock on Sooyoung’s door has you pulling away, gazing over your shoulder in curiosity. Upon looking up, you catch the eyes of Jiwoo, who lingered in the threshold, eyes dancing with uncertainty. She could almost sense the history between you, unsure of whether to give you two privacy or let her concern for the older member outweigh her doubts. Jiwoo watched as you leaned up to whisper something in Sooyoung’s ear, a mischievous smile playing on your lips. “I’ll see you later,” you muttered, slipping past the younger with a polite smile plastered on your face.
Jiwoo hesitantly entered the room, eyeing Sooyoung suspiciously. The older merely smiled brightly at her, a sudden sparkle replacing the once sullen look in her eye. “Why are you looking at me like that?” Jiwoo questioned, eyes narrowed sceptically. “No reason,” Sooyoung grinned sheepishly, a near unnoticeable pink tint spreading across her face. Shrugging it off, the shorter plopped herself comfortably on the older girl's bed, eyes widening upon taking in the sight of her tear stricken face. “What’s wrong?” She asked immediately, hand darting out to caress her dampened cheeks.
“I’m fine now that you’re here,” Sooyoung said, a smile adorning her lips. Jiwoo let out a squeak at the bold statement, wondering how the words rolled off her tongue with such effortless charm. “I’m worried about you,” the younger woman voiced her concerns, gnawing on the inside of her cheek. “I know you keep telling me that you’re fine, but I can tell that you’re not. I understand if you don’t want to talk about it though-” Jiwoo was cut off mid ramble as Sooyoung reached out to grasp the younger’s hand in her own. “I’ll admit that I haven’t been very honest with you lately, but I promise things are better now. I’m going to be okay,” Sooyoung assured both herself and Jiwoo.
Everything was going to be alright.

This was painful to edit considering the recent events that have transpired recently. I couldn’t bear to leave it with a sad ending, as Loona is going through enough as is at the moment.

Being an idol didn’t mean you stopped feeling starstruck whenever you were in the presence of other idols. As a matter of fact, it’s because you’re an idol that gets the chance of meeting others in real life that makes you even more nervous when you step into the practice room your manager directed you to.
Your members couldn’t come with you due to their own schedules, but they all wished you well for your preparation in your special stage for MAMA. You were a nervous wreck being around Itzy’s very own Choi Jisu and then (G)I-dle’s Nicha Yontararak due to them being your seniors, but you were even more nervous when you were fully introduced, Weeekly’s Park Soeun coming a little later than she intended and darn was her energy overwhelming you.
They were all very friendly, but given the fact that you were the youngest in this little unit made you squirm, sitting a little farther away before Jisu noticed.
“Y/n, come on, we’re not going to bite you.” She giggled while waving you over, noting the awkward air around you. “Lia is right, there’s no need to be so shy.” Nicha agreed with a kind smile. “If you want, we can just sit and talk before actually discussing the distribution and choreography.” You shift a little closer to Soeun as she happily beams at you.
“I promised the unnies that I would take care of you, so don’t worry.” Soeun tells you, throwing her arm around your shoulders once you were near enough and pulling you into a warm hug. “Sorry, I’m just… a little nervous.” You tell them and Jisu coos before poking your cheek. "Hey, we're all friends here. There's no need for that." She says in an attempt to cheer you up, but it does little in easing your concerns.
There were a whole lot of expectations on your shoulders due to this performance, but aside from that, you had upcoming tests to think about, too. Thinking about the amount of homework and studying you had piling up, you weren't sure if you would be able to do a good job with this.
But you're able to put those on pause as you begin to practice with the other three idols. The steps weren't new, you already recall most of the parts since you've watched Blackpink's performance a handful of times. But that didn't mean it was always easy.
"Welcome home! How was practice today?" Chaewon was the first to greet you with a smile as soon as you trudged into the dorms, exhausted after a long day. "It was fine, we're almost done." You reply as you take off your shoes and change into your house slippers.
"You look tired." Jinsol notes with a pout when she sees your posture. Though she has bad posture herself, she knows that you were always making sure to fix your own. This time though, she sees the way your shoulders are hunched, your bag strapped to only one, making it droop lower than the other.
With a weak smile, you wave off her concern as you head for your room. "I'm okay, just going to clean up and then do some last minute studying." You inform them, making the older woman's pout deepen whilst Chaewon only frowned. "Be sure to get some sleep." She tells you and you can't help but giggle a little. "Says the one who stays up until four in the morning."
"Hey!"
With one quick goodnight, you enter your room and change into more comfortable clothing before hopping into bed. With your desk lamp turned on, you cast your eyes around the room and smile a little to yourself when you see your roommates all sleeping peacefully in their beds. With that in mind, you keep any possible sound to a minimum as you start on your homeworks.
Since some of them aren't due for a while, you prioritized the ones that had a closer due date. Though you do get stuck on a few of them, especially with your essays since you weren't too sure about your grammar.
You don't even notice the rustling of the sheets from across your bed or the figure peeking out. You only know that someone's awake once your bed dips and a warm body presses against your side, nuzzling your shoulder.
"What are you still doing up?" You hear the sleepy voice ask, her eyes still shut as she laid her head against your shoulder. "I'm just finishing some homework, unnie." You say quietly, gently petting her hair as you lean into her.
Though her warmth was tempting, you quickly turned your eyes back on your papers while she pulled you impossibly closer. "It's late and you had practice the whole day." She mumbles into your shoulder and you hum in agreement before answering. "I'm almost done with this. I'll finish the others tomorrow." She makes a noise of content, though doesn't move to leave your bed.
While you hurriedly finish off your homework and put your materials away, you take a peek at the girl beside you before giggling and then turning your lamp off. She wakes a little at the movement but when she sees that you're getting ready for bed, she only smiles before snuggling closer to you. There's a mumbled goodnight from her and you close your eyes while allowing her to wrap herself around you.
"Goodnight, Yerim unnie."
..
"Unnie, I have to get going." You complain when Haseul continues to fuss over you, her brows pinched together as she made sure you had everything. "I just want to be sure that you have everything." The leader explained while checking over your homework.
When she deems it okay, she finally hands them back before patting your head as Kahei hands you a lunchbox. "Good luck today and don't push yourself too hard, alright?" You give them a tiny little salute before turning to leave the kitchen, only to collide into another person.
"You're leaving already?" You're held by the shoulders to not lose your balance by the group's resident rabbit. Heejin looks at you with a smile and you mirror it with a nod. "I don't want to be late for school, unnie." You answer and she purses her lips a little before nodding her head in understanding. "You have to head straight to practice after, right?"
When you nod one more time, she sighs before taking your hand and bringing you back to your shared room. "Uh, unnie?" You call out and she only opens up the box she has beside her bed before slipping a few packs of bread inside your bag.
"I'll try to come and visit you later to make sure you eat. Lip unnie said that you shouldn't be skipping meals so I'm making sure you have something to eat in between breaks." The first girl explained and you can't help but smile at your members' thoughtfulness. "Thank you, unnie."
Heejin lets you go with a big hug and the rest of your members present at the dorm all bid you farewell when you exit the dorms.
You're able to keep the smile on your face for a good portion of the day. But halfway through your classes, you start to feel your exhaustion taking its toll on your body when you can barely keep your eyes open.
Every class is like a battle of pure will when your pen starts to slow down in its note taking and you have to force your eyes to stay open. Though when the bell rings to indicate that your class is over, you jump a little, startled awake and forcing you to look up at the board.
People were already exiting the room, and when you look at the time, you move out of your seat to gather your things before heading out. Given you didn't have that many friends at school since Yeojin graduated.
It wasn't as though she were your only friend, but since the incident at your last school, you weren't particularly quick to be friends with others. Most of the friends you made were a year older and have left, but you did have at least three people you considered friends in your class.
You were just far too busy to get to talk to them at the moment with your tight schedules.
"Y/n!"
A squeak comes from you when someone calls your name, the sound of a car honking accompanies it. Looking behind you, you see Hyunjin waving happily at you with Jiwoo next to her. They're both grinning and waving you over.
"What are you guys doing here?" You ask curiously and Hyunjin opens the door for you to hop in. "We came to pick you up. Let's go, you don't want to be late." Hyunjin says when she takes your bag as Jiwoo reaches over to hug you, overly excited as she gives you a little shake.
Hyunjin makes a face, given she's stuck in the middle before pulling you both apart. "I'm right here!" She complained and you beam before pressing a kiss to her cheek. The cat gives you a push, but you can see the way she tries to fight off her smile.
"You guys didn't have to come all the way here." You tell them and Hyunjin ruffles your hair whilst Jiwoo pouts. "But we wanted to! You've been very busy and we wanted to see how you were." The older woman explained before pointing at your manager. "Oppa said we could drop you off but we can't stay too long."
Hyunjin pats her arm in a comforting manner while the man in the front chuckled. "I told you already, you have your own schedule today." He reminds and Jiwoo groans in protest. "But my maknae!"
"Our." Hyunjin promptly corrects, making laughter bubble from your throat. "It's not fair though! Ten minutes isn't going to hurt anyone!" Jiwoo went on and your manager could only sigh while shaking his head. "You know the rules, Chuu."
But said woman only huffs in disdain before turning to you. "Can't you make him?" She pleads and you coo a little at her expression before reluctantly denying her request. "Unnie, you're gonna see the performance eventually."
"Plus, maknae is going to be home later so it's not like you won't see her again." Hyunjin adds, though she admittedly did want to spend a little more time with you. "But she always comes home when I'm sleeping. Choerry only woke up that one time and got to cuddle."
You smile softly at the older girl before taking her hand as you rest your head on Hyunjin's shoulder. "I'll go to your bed tonight. How does that sound?"
By the way her whole face lit up, she was more than okay with that offer.
..
"Are you alright, Y/n?" You look behind you when Nicha comes walking over, a worried look on her features after she's noticed how you were constantly reviewing your practice. "Yeah, I was just checking to see if I could improve anything, unnie." You explain with a puff of air. "I feel like I need to practice a little more."
She blinks at your words before crouching down to place a gentle hand on your shoulder. "Take a deep breath for me." She suddenly instructed and you're a little confused as to why, but seeing the look on her face had you obeying, sucking in a deep breath and then slowly letting it out.
She adds a squeeze to your shoulder before finally sitting in front of you. "We still have some time to practice, but don't overwork yourself." She states softly. "Don't be so hard on yourself, okay?"
Her words stick to you throughout the entirety of practice. Even though you were trying to keep a clear mind, you still couldn't help but think about how you had to be perfect with the choreography. The small suggestion from the choreographer had you assuming that you weren't doing as well as you had hoped and the other three idols with you looked a little concerned when they noticed your silence.
"Yah, Y/n! Are you okay?" Soeun asked when she walked closer to you, spotting the frown that's beginning to form on your face. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking a little. I suddenly remembered my homework." You cringe at how lame that sounded, but she looked more than understanding. "I forgot that you're still in school."
Taking a quick look around, the older girl turned back to you with a kind smile. "Mind if I have a look at it?" She stretches her hand out to you and you quickly panic a little at her offer. "Oh! You don't have to, unnie. It's okay!"
But she waves your worries away. "Come on. We're a team, that means we help each other." As reluctant as you were, her persuasion manages to get you to grab your bag and show her the remainder of your homework. So while the four of you were on break, Soeun opted to sit by and help you as you worked.
"What's all this?" Jisu asks when she and Nicha finally decide to check on the two of you. Soeun points to you before grinning. "I'm helping Y/n with their homework."
You're too busy thinking over what you're doing to even notice the two older women. It's only when Jisu sits beside you to look over your shoulder did you snap out of concentration.
"Don't mind me. Keep going." She urges you to continue with your work before you turn back to your paper, sighing softly as your brows pinched together. "I'm stuck." You mumble quietly, a pout visible on your features and she can't help cooing at your expression before pinching your cheek. "What's the problem?"
You bring up the essay that's barely put together and Jisu carefully takes it from your hands. You watch as she reads what you've done so far and Nicha sits beside her to check too. "This is good, maybe try avoiding writing too much?" She suggests while pointing to one part. "You can be concise without dragging on details." Nicha agrees and you nod your head, noting their suggestions as you start to write again.
The three of them help you figure out the rest of your essay before you collectively remember that you had to go back to practice. You remind them of the time and it's not long before everyone is back into positions and trying again.
That's how the next few days follow. You manage to do bits of studying in between your practices, but eventually you find yourself growing more and more restless. One time during your breaks, you had to take a look around before frowning when you saw how the other three were able to flawlessly go through the choreography whilst you still stumbled every few times because of how your mind would constantly flit back to your homework.
You begin to feel bad whenever you had to ask the others for help, and you felt a little worse when you had slipped next to Jiwoo that one night as promised and had her cling to you the rest of the night.
You knew they were worried about you, too. It was clear whenever you came home much later than you should be. Sooyoung had to carry you to bed once when you bumped into her in the hallway to your room. She saw just how tired you looked, and with how your body sank into her embrace when she wrapped her arms around you, there was no way she would let you stay up later to study some more.
"Y/n doesn't look too good." Hyeju muttered as she brought her mug to her lips. "They were dead asleep when I checked on them." She added softly and Yerim sighed loudly while sinking into the couch. "She needs to sleep some more." She muttered while glancing at your shared room. "I can't wait for her to graduate. That would be a big weight off her shoulders."
"Wait, doesn't Y/n have school today?" Yeojin asked, confusion clear on her face when she checked the date and Hyeju gestured towards Jungeun and Kahei as they busied themselves in the kitchen. "The unnies said that one day wouldn't hurt." Hyeju answers quietly while staring down at her drink, quietly contemplating on what to do to possibly help you.
Yeojin takes that time to get up and check on what the older members are doing. However, as soon as she reaches your door, it bursts open and you stumble right into her in a hurry.
The two of you end up sprawled on the floor before you're scrambling to your feet, pulling the other up with you as apologies left your mouth in a frenzy. Yeojin had to place both her hands on your shoulders and looked you in the eyes, the best her height could let her.
"Y/n, inhale." You blink but quickly do as she says, inhaling deeply. "Now exhale." Again, you follow her instructions and slowly breathe out, earning a smile from the second maknae. "Good. Now why do you look so panicked?" She inquires and the worry is back as soon as she does. "I'm late for school."
When the words finally leave your lips, Yeojin lets out another breath before taking your hand and then pulling you to join them on the couch, never mind what she was planning to do in the first place.
"You're not going to school today." Hyeju informs you once you're seated and you blink a couple times, making your present roommate giggle. "We can't have you skipping practice but the unnies said you could skip one day of school so you could rest a little." They see that you're about to protest, so Hyeju quickly shuts you down before you can try. "We already asked our managers and they said you get a free pass today."
"... But my homeworks?"
"Already taken cared of." Haseul enters the room with Jungeun before petting your head. "Lip and I went to drop your homework off." She answers before placing down her purse. "We've also talked to some of your teachers and explained the situation so you don't have to worry too much." Jungeun adds when she sits next to you and stretches her legs.
Even with your older members' assurances, you still felt a little queasy with not being able to do these things yourself. You appreciated the help, of course, but you just couldn't seem to sit still.
And Yeojin was quick to notice.
"Y/n, it's just one day. You'll be headed for practice in a couple of hours, so don't think too much about it." She tries to reason and you glance at her before taking in another deep breath just as Jungeun places a hand on your knee, warm and comforting.
For the remaining hours, you sit with your members, doing your best to partake in conversation. Jinsol manages to calm you in the process, pulling you into her arms and cuddling you on the couch while Heejin and Chaewon talk about the brownies the latter had prepared a few days prior. You dozed off somewhere in between the conversation and Jinsol was more than happy to let you nap before you had to leave again.
"Y/n! How are you?" Jisu asks cheerfully when she sees you enter the room and Nicha gives you a quick hug. "I've been alright." It wasn't entirely true given your exhaustion, but they didn't need to be bothered by that. Your performance wasn’t too far away so you didn’t need any more distractions.
Soeun happily bounds over to you, nearly tackling you in a hug when she’s within arms reach. “I can’t believe it’s almost time! I’m going to miss hanging out with you!” She whines and you smile a little while patting her back. “We can still see each other after. Just text me and we’ll set a date.” You promise, Nicha nodding in agreement. “Yeah, Y/n is right. We can still hang out when we’re free.” She agrees while ruffling your hair and Jisu's face brightens before she's searching for her phone and holding it up.
"Let's take a picture!"
Neither you nor Soeun could decline as the two older girls each gave you a hug before taking the picture with the two of you giggling. Jisu plans to take another one once the performance is over, but the picture she managed to take now was perfect on its own.
Right after that, you all fall into routine and start practicing. Polishing was important and you kept a critical eye on your movements to make sure that you were doing everything right. Since you felt like you'd been slacking off, you made sure that you put extra effort into this practice since you wouldn't be meeting on the weekend. You had your other schedules to attend to and you needed to practice for Loona's performance too.
You're nearing the end of the performance, but right as you hear your part before the beat changes, you're hit with a wave of nausea. What caused it, you're not too sure but you're off your feet in seconds.
You had to shut your eyes and focus on your breathing. Your ears were ringing and the girls' voices were all muffled. You could only feel as if your head was placed on someone's lap and trying to ground you back, but due to your worn out state, you find it hard to get your eyes to open again.
By the time you come to, you were surprised to see your dimly lit bedroom. Slowly sitting up, you examine your surroundings before confirming that you were at the dorms.
"Hey, you." A soft voice gathered your attention and you found Sooyoung standing at your door, concern plastered all over her features. "How are you feeling?" She asks while stepping inside, a tray with food and water on it that she places on your bedside table.
She takes a seat next to you once her hands are free and your brows pinch together. "My head hurts a little, but… how did I get home?" You ask quietly, earning a sigh from the older girl before she's ushering you to lean back. "Chuu got a call from Lia. She said you passed out so Vivi unnie and Choerry went to pick you up since they were on their way back." She explains and you instantly grow quiet when you remember that you were with other people.
"We told you to take care of yourself, Y/n. What happened?" She's not mad. Even though she wants to scold you, her expression screams anything but anger. She's genuinely worried about your wellbeing and she wants to make sure that you're okay.
And that only made you feel worse because you know that the rest of your members felt the same.
"I…" Sucking in a deep breath, you pull your knees to your chest. "I was nervous…" You finally say aloud. "A lot was happening at school and I didn't want to fall back while making sure I did well with the performance too." You weren't the best when it came to time management, but the added pressure only made things worse for you.
Sooyoung could see the stress piling up and she could finally understand what you were going through. So with a sigh, she brushed your hair from your face before cupping your cheeks. "You need to take breaks in between. I know that you want to be perfect, but the truth is there's only so much we can do as people." She says firmly, ensuring that you're listening to everything she's saying. "You've been doing your best and that's what matters. You have people around you who are supporting you, so let yourself lean on us too."
Withdrawing her hands, Sooyoung gives you a small smile when she stands up. "Be more careful with yourself, alright?" When you give her a small nod, Sooyoung leans down to press a gentle kiss to your forehead. "Sleep tight, kiddo."
While it is still a bit of a struggle to get rid of your habit of pushing yourself to the limit, your members make sure to watch you and help you relax to the best of their abilities. Your roommates make sure to get you in bed on time while Yeojin and Heejin opt to help you with studying to ensure that you understood the things you had troubles understanding before.
They make sure to keep a pace that they're sure you could follow and Jinsol is soon joining in, more than happy to be a helping hand. Plus, she would shower you with praise whenever you managed to grasp the concept they were teaching well.
Kahei makes sure you're eating properly. While she knows that it wasn't your intention, the girls figured out that you were forgetting to eat your meals on time. When it's time for lunch, she either calls you to join her and some of the other girls or brings the food to you if you're too busy with homework.
She knows that the girls helping you study will make sure you eat.
Everything runs smoothly from there, and without even realizing, it was finally the day of your performance.
"Y/n!"
Your body was thrown back a bit by the sudden force of someone colliding into you. And when you craned your head to check, you couldn't help but smile when you recognize Soeun's face. "How are you feeling?" She asks when she pulls away and you see Nicha and Jisu over her shoulder, both approaching you with smiles on their faces.
"I've been better. The unnies made sure I rested over the weekend." You tell them and Nicha beams before pinching your cheeks. "You better have. You made us worried during practice." She scolds lightly and you smile apologetically. "I know, and I'm really sorry for scaring you guys." You apologize before Jisu squeezed your hand.
"Well, seeing that you're all good now… ready to take the stage?" She asks carefully and you grin at all three of them. "Let's show them what we're made of."
The sound of fans cheering and fellow artists clapping as the platform rose and the spotlight found your figures. You inhaled to calm your nerves before raising your head, smiling when you spotted your members among the sea of people, and they all grinned back with a few waving happily.
As the familiar sound of Forever Young by Blackpink began to play, the screaming only grew louder throughout your performance as you all executed each step right. Weaving through each formation while you sang to your heart's content, the four of you enjoyed the stage while basking in the attention everyone gave you.
Glancing at each other, you threw smirks at the crowd. "Your girls are the revolution!"
If you didn't think the crowd could get any louder, that moment definitely proved you wrong as the roar of the crowd reached your ears. You could see a handful of other artists enjoying the performance too and you were more than relieved up until you reached the last pose with Soeun throwing an arm around your shoulders and Jisu wrapping her own around your waist.
While you did follow a majority of the original choreography, the four of you decided to have your own fun with the ending, and it looked like the perfect fit with how hyped up everyone had gotten with your performance.
Once backstage, the four of you are in another group hug, congratulating each other on a job well done. "Let's take a picture before we have to go!" Jisu exclaimed, excitedly pulling at Soeun's arm while Nicha hooked her arm with yours as you smiled at the camera, feeling much lighter now that the performance was over.
While you were nervous at first, the process did help you gain some new friends. But even when you were meeting them outside your schedules and getting over the nervousness of being an idol, you know that you always had people you could count on.
At the end of the day, your members would always be there to cheer you on and support you no matter how hard things might appear.
"Good job, kiddo! We knew you could do it!" Jungeun clapped your back before giving you a hug right before Jiwoo barreled into you and squeezed tightly. "You were so cool! I didn't know you could rap like that!"
"Good job, Y/n. We're really proud of you." Haseul beamed while pinching your cheek and Yeojin bounced happily while shaking your arm. "And to make it better, you're finally graduating next month!"
Yeah, you were more than content with yourself this time.

[ 14.24 ] art-student!heejin — angst
warning/s: fem!reader (also a student), mention of a pen knife and a small scar from it (dropping it in class), heejin is implied to be taller than reader, reader is said to have hair that reaches at least their chin, sad lesbians, this actually feels quite intimate wait, internalised homophobia(?)
Tumblr media
the light in the bathroom flickered, still broken from jinsoul and sooyoung’s fight months ago, the bulb was due a change but you could still see her face perfectly.
heejin stared at each paint mark as she carefully wiped your face with tissue she had taken from the stall behind her, being much more careful than she was with her own face just moments ago. one of her hands held your cheek, under your hair, while the other went back and forth on your other cheek.
she drops the now red tissue into the sink, keeping her grip on your face, as she picked up a new piece and put it under the tap briefly. she leaned in closer this time, her eyes soft and full of an emotion you can’t quite understand.
“i’m sorry about yerim.” she begins to wipe just above your eyebrow as she speaks but you aren’t listening.
her thumb begins to stroke a small spot and you realise how warm her touch is. it’s not from sweat or how long she’s been holding you but from how it makes you feel inside. butterflies are everywhere and you feel fuzzy. she makes you feel fuzzy and warm and cozy and at home like she always has only this time it sends your heart to your stomach as you realise what it means.
heejin stands up fully to blow the small wet patch on your head dry. she teeters back and forth for a moment, hesitating while thinking about her next move. she can feel how intimate the atmosphere has become and she’s seen your eyes trained on her as she cleaned up, although she notes that it wasn’t a shy stare or a cautious one.
slowly she puts her other hand on your cheek, you don’t seem to mind that it’s not dry and heejin sees you slowly melt into her hold. both of you stare at each other and she steps as close as she can, all while watching you for any movement but nothing comes. you’re chest to chest and she leans down to become face to face with you.
there are mere centimetres between the pair of you. you can feel her soft breath on your lips as hers slightly part.
you’re almost 100% sure she can hear your heart beating, you know she can feel it, but it doesn’t matter because if you listen close enough you can hear hers too.
slowly you lift a hand to rest on her wrist and your thumb copies her movements from minutes ago. your eyes wander from her face to her collarbone and you notice a small mole you’ve never seen before, then you look at her empty wrist and notice a small scar you’re sure she got from a pen knife in class.
then you look back at heejin’s face. her eyes are glazed over as she observes you. her cheeks are a light shade of red, and not from your thumb. her lips were still parted as she looked for the right words to say.
after a moment she speaks. “don’t look at me like that.” it comes out as a whisper you can barely hear, the closeness making so you can just catch it. there’s a small break in the sentence and you watch a tear fall from her face however you do nothing to stop it.
“i wish you were a boy.” is all you can reply.

LOONA x fem!Reader - Princess of the Sun
A poem in which the sun princess Y/N has to make a decision which moon princess to marry. <3
warning: suggestive
Tumblr media
The princess of the sun opens her eyes
She shines upon the world, she brings the sunrise
The darkness of the night makes way for her light
As she is ecstatic for the events of tonight
A ceremony long awaited
A galaxy of days and nights will be created
As the Sun and the Moon entangle together
And golden rings signify their “forever”
Although first , she has to choose
With which princess the ceremony ensues
For the moon’s princess isn’t just one,
They’re twelve, and they all love the sun.
.
Is she going to choose princess HeeJin?
The one who’s hand is always reaching
Bringing Y/N’s fingers to her lips
And kissing them softly, causing an eclipse .
.
And if not, will it be princess HyunJin?
With whom she truly loves indulging
In countless, abundant pleasures
The one who makes her feel so treasured ?
.
She could go for princess HaSeul,
The one who takes her on adventures in the castle
And any time that princess Y/N would cry,
She would fill up with stars the entire night sky .
.
Ecstatic for her choice is also princess Vivi,
With whom she entrusts herself so freely,
Since there’s never any hint of doubt
Cause that’s what true love is all about .
.
At that moment, in her mind appears princess Yeojin,
And all the countless moments they spent watching
Over the whole endless Universe, and yet
It’s only princess Y/N that she wanted to get .
.
For princess Kim Lip, she feels a great adoration
As she introduces her to so many sensations ,
Especially in the crystal moonlit abyss
As their lips lock into an eternal kiss .
.
And then, there is princess Jinsoul,
The one that adores to take control .
Of Y/N’s pretty body, leaving moonlight on her skin
Always and forever lighting a fire within .
.
In her heart sparkles princess Choerry,
Glorious, celestial, like a fairy .
Her lips taste like candy, her fingers taste like cherries,
Princess Y/N is her sunshine and the one she wants to marry.
.
Princess Yves’ adoring eyes appear in her mind
And the burning desire when their hands entwine .
As graceful as Yves is as she is kind,
She loves to tell princess Y/N “You’re mine.”
.
She touches her lips as she thinks of princess Chuu,
There aren’t many things as pretty as those two .
Lips softly pressing against each other, oh yes, it is true,
That to make princess Y/N happy, there’s nothing Chuu wouldn’t do.
.
Princess Gowon, her moonlight shining,
On the sun’s princess, their destinies aligning .
All the things she whispers in Y/N’s ear
Makes sparkles all around them appear .
.
And finally, princess Olivia, the one
Who always melts the heart of the princess of the sun .
The one with which she’s spent the most nights together,
The princess that swore she’d adore her forever .
.
And finally, she’s made the decision.
It is time to uphold the tradition.
“Are you ready, princess Y/N?” asked the Cosmos, “With your decision as to who you’ll marry?”
“Yes, dear Cosmos,” Y/N smiled gracefully.
“I am ready.” 💖☀️

Summary: If this was the limits of your relationship, it’d be a fine capstone. A gift wrought not by your own hands.
Still you are blessed ever more with the cherry sweet caress of Heejin’s lips pressed against your cheek accompanied by a hushed whisper. “My idiot.” All it took was close to six months. A/n: Blame @neon-city-dreams for this absolute behemoth, set in the universe that he runs for a bunch of the paladins. I sort went all out from visual standpoint for this fic. If you went to avoid the angst stop at the pagebreak that says 15 Minutes.

You always found comfort in your garage; many would consider the steel trappings more akin to a cage than asylum.
Still, it was your bunker nonetheless.
Your hands creep through wires and metal sheets, an exasperated grunt echoes through your lips. Whoever labelled the wires was a moron.
You were the moron, though on more levels than usual.
This time, at least. Socialising definitely wasn't a strength of yours, Jovians were your forte. People... less so.
Should've known you wouldn't get along with the Rogues fan, that should've been as obvious as the sun in the sky.
Tick tock.
Now you were alone in your Jovian garage, no friends to your name against the encroaching march of time.
Your hands coil around your prize, at least you'd install Paragon capabilities into Glimpse--A clatter rings out through your garage.
A wrench against polished concrete... a ghost?
It wasn't a journeyman; you couldn't afford one.
You dance on the knife's edge, an intruder and danger on top of the list.
But what if? What if you could at least finish up your work on Glimpse?
Your spare hand thumbs over your switchblade, ready to shear the electric sheep.
Danger wasn't exactly on the table, more a development of needless anxiety. Your grasp tightens against the wire pulling it through the opening instead, your knife impaling it against a nearby metal sheet.
For later.
Red tartan is the first thing you catch, a dress echoes with alcohol and stronger concoctions.
A party you weren't invited to.
Her eyes are sharp, focused almost like she was peering down at you, a surprising feat considering she was shorter than you.
She toys with her braid, fingers tracing through an almost ethereal glow.
A shimmer of crystalline marble teases your eyes, a moon pendant.
Lunar Tyrium… Probably.
You'd hedge your bets on her being a corpo kid or an Arg at least.
"You're Kai right?" She teases with a glimmer of teeth. Her voice is deeper and huskier than you expected.
Beautiful nonetheless.
You bite your tongue, a deep inhale and a roll of your eyes satisfies her.
Kai was in fact not your nam-"I'd get used to it, it's better than Kaiju kid."
You'd like to maintain that the Kaijus were better than the Rogues, at least in more recent seasons.
A frown cuts through your lips, pulling your jumpsuit tight to your skin. Her
eyes peer beyond you, a simmer of a smile.
"You're routing display power back into the core," less of a question, more of a statement.
She knew her stuff.
Didn't mean you liked her.
Your head cocks to the side, what was her game?
Each step from her echoes across cold concrete, and each footfall straddles stiff tension.
Her gaze saunters over every nook and cranny, every shape and detail.
You'd feel more comfortable being naked in front of her, there was something to be said about having your life's work judged.
Her eyes are softer as her fingers trail across metal ridges and rivets.
There's a new found focus in her eyes, an entrancement. There's also a sense of awe as she takes in your metal titan.
Her eyebrows crimp together, her eyes pulled by an invisible tether focus on you. "Vanquisher or Paragon?"
Your mouth runs dry at the suddenly softer attention. Your mouth hangs slightly before you can mark an utterance.
"Uh…" Your mouth still lags with arid thorns, each edge a trailing thought.
None of them are on task, as you catch your eyes linger on her entranced form.
"Paragon," the only word you can muster.
Her smile brightens as she catches your gaze, a shimmer hidden in her eyes.
Like lights during a festival.
A treasure you wish you could understand.
A smile comes to a boil. "You must be a pretty good Wright."
There's a small quirk of your lips as you try to tug at the threads of her features, trying to decipher her intention.
You're well practised.
Yet you're still surprised she's so….
Genuine.
"At least I think she'd agree," her hand pats across metal with a gentle touch, there's a hint of wistful snow as her eyes trace her hand's trail.
Her eyes careen back to you.
"What's her name?" Her words, soft like snow.
"Glimpse Ascendant," an odd name you admit, an ode to the frames that made it whole.
A reverent reference.
Her teeth tingle with joy as a smile blooms, her eyes pick apart your features. Her fingers scrawl over a familiar logo, carved by your hand. There’s almost a sad wistful look caught in the still frame of her eye.
"Maybe Kai is a good nickname," she teases with a friendly bristle, it's almost odd how comfortable she is around you.
Still, charcoal frustration simmers under your voice. "Is there something I can help you with?"
Her smile falters, as her eyes peel back to cold and piercing. "...Maybe?"
You scoff, a roll of your eyes.
A waste of your time.
You grip your blade, tearing it out from the sheet of metal.
A mental note to repair and polish it for later.
Waste not, want not.
"I'm gonna get back to work, hav-" You're surprised by her sudden proximity, there's a wave of perfume, violet and bergamot the few notes you can pick out.
"She got a pilot?" Her voice once again soft like snow, even if her eyes are just as piercingly cold.
There's a derision that lines your thoughts, you dance with the lies that linger in your mind.
If only to shoo her away.
Though a corpo kid would be good for resources.
A noble would've been better.
There's a deep inhale as you admit the truth.
"No."
That unfamiliar glimmer returns once again, there's no small sense of annoyance at her possible enjoyment.
Your eyes peer deep like a knife.
"Why?"
A saunter of a smile creeps across her lips. "Well, I figured we'd make a decent team, Kai."
You can't tell if your nickname is drowned in honey or venom. Though it makes no difference all the same.
"Fine," you huff as you offer a hand. "What's your name?"
"Heejin," she offers, hand at the ready.
"Heejin?" an attempt to dive for more in the well of her being.
"Heejin," she confirms, spitting into her hand.
A surprise twist you had to admit, old school and archaic.
It made no difference to you, hands already stained with grease.
Her hand fits almost perfectly against yours. A thought you try your best not to dwindle on.
She moves with a twist already adjusting her, scanning over supplies in your garage.
She helps herself to one of your spare jumpsuits.
The surprise lingers on your face even once she returns.
"What?" She points out, jagged eyebrows in tow. Her fingers craft a hurried ponytail.
"I should be saying that to you."
There's that same shimmer and a bristle of a smile.  "Just because I'm a pilot doesn't mean I'm gonna leave the hard work to you."
Maybe that's when you felt the first flutters in your chest.
Tumblr media
It's a weird twist of fate, a flip of a coin rather than the twist of a knife.
You had little personal effects, aside from the clothes on your back and your tools.
A thought you hadn't pondered too much.
But has your life really revolved around just your Jovian?
You feel the pad of her fingers brush your shoulder, a warmth you were slowly getting used to.
There's a bristle of a smile as she catches your eyes.
An eager smile dots her lips, an air of excitement permeates the air.
"Shall we get started?" She beams, energy lined every husky syllable.
Truly a paradox.
Cold corpo kid seemed like a far off dream in a different lifetime.
"Uh," your voice draws and sinks.
You had meant it truly when you said you'd move your stuff yourself.
Your hand floats before it too sinks.
Her neck cranes to the side, concern brims on the horizon.
"Is something wrong?" Her eyes peer deep into you, a diver on the edge of treasure.
Her lips toss and turn, a game of guess who, eyebrows stretched tight as she slowly moves closer.
Is this how Glimpse felt under her gaze?
The storm on her features eventually subsides, a deep inhale as her gaze shifts down the hall
Her voice soft and light.
"...I don't mind moving into your dorm room if it's more comfortable?" A glimmer of a cascade, that unfamiliar expression held the limelight.
A secret or a memory perhaps? A chance to increase your compatibility.
What was your compatibility rate anyway?
A thought for later.
Her eyes settle on you once again, a soft twinge of a smile.
There's the brim of your own smile, honesty was the best bet. "And waste a perfectly good penthouse dorm room?"
A luxury you didn’t actually expect to see, afforded to noble House members and Argentum Corpo kids.
What Corp was her family involved with?
Luna solutions was the obvious answer thanks to the Tyrium on her neck.
Yet there's the small twinge of something else in the back of your head.
A hunch.
There was definitely more to her than met the eye.
Her eyes linger on the door, her fingers splay over the slight worn surface, there's a hint of a smile… of something more.
Her fingers tap across the wooden surface, a rhythm you didn’t know.
"I'm surprised," there's a click of your tongue. "I didn't think many rich kids would be willing to stoop down from the pedestal."
There's a slight hum, almost a sense of surprise lingers at your words.
A sense of dread lingers in her silence, perhaps you had over stepped.
At least you'd make a mental note of the boundary.
Her eyes are soft, as she grasps the door handle. "I guess I was just raised right then?"
The door slides open at her touch, maybe she was right?
Despite her design… she was nice, helpful even. Not that the bar was particularly high for pilots.
But you could count on one hand the amount of pilots that would help their Wright, let alone be fairly knowledgeable.
The question teems on the edge of your lips, water on the edge of thirst.
"Hm?" She hums, eyes peering across your cosy two bedroom dorm.
It was closer to a sardine can.
Though you had lived in far worse places, money saved was money earnt for your Jovian.
"I expected it to be messier," she turns back to you in a dancer's pirouette, her feet trodding slowly into the living room, hands folded behind her.
Living room was a generous estimate, more of a half room merged with a kitchenette.
You had yet to check if the elements even worked.
The sun blooms past the glass door balcony, capturing her in a cascade of sunset light.
Tranquil Iridescence lingers on every part of her like settled stardust.
It only enhanced what was already there.
It's almost habitual, when you take a photo with your contact lense.
Radiant.
Is the thought that lingers on your mind, you're too distracted to notice her rummaging through the one box you did bring.
Sunlit smile, her hands settle on a familiar black material.
A bomber jacket you bought from a thrift shop, to weather through a storm.
A keepsake, you guess. Even if you never wore it.
Poor people did tend to have hoarder tendencies.
"What's this?" She asks, already measuring it against her own form.
You shrug, unamused scouting through your dingy fridge.
Of course the light didn't magically fix itself.
Still, it was as empty as when you first moved in.
Which was only yesterday granted.
Your eyes flicker over her. "A jacket?" You suggest, more concerned with the rest of the contents of the box.
There's something hidden in her eyes as she places it back in place, her lips produce a simple, "oh."
Soft and almost sombre.
Your fingers twist and weave through keepsakes and mementos, settling on a simple shard.
Orichalcum.
"Whatcha got there?" She calls from right next to you, she had the subtlety of a shadow in her movements.
"A keepsake," it glistens in the sunlight, a treasured jewel.
Her head tilts to the side, "from your first Jovian?"
You scoff lightly, serendipitously. "I wish…"
Images flicker through your mind like a reel in front of a dancing flame.
The smell of overturned earth and singed metal hung thick in the air.
A smile dances lightly across, the crest of joy hums lightly in your throat.
"A keepsake from the first siegeball game I went to."
Your eyes linger across her, expecting the same familiar reaction from some of your peers.
You're surprised when she leans closer, a smile on her lips, she moves with a subtle nod.
Something lingers in her eyes, a puzzle piece you couldn’t quite decipher.
Maybe you would with time.
Her gaze lingers over you softly, a honey sweet glaze. It tugs at your heart, a pull of a string.
You almost choke on your own air, a strained sputter.
A chuckle tickles your ears, her hand glides across your back.
A soft pat to help you breathe.
“You alright?” her smile rosy sweet.
You needed to focus.
You clear your throat, a sustained effort. Another cough, another sputter.
“Yeah I’m fine,” your eyes shift over the box. “We should probably get going, you can pry over my stuff later.”
Her nose crinkles ever so slightly.
"I'll hold you to it."
Tumblr media
Heejin's penthouse apartment is cosier than you expected, your eyes linger over painted canvas as the dying embers of sunlight peek through large windows.
The light scent of peach wafts through the air, as your eyes settle on two guitars.
She was more artistic than you imagined, it must’ve taken considerable effort to move all of her stuff in such a short time.
Your fingers trail over unfamiliar countertops, prying over every detail you could pick up.
At least without making it look like you were snooping.
Unlike a certain someone else, her hands rummaging actively through your box of keepsakes.
She offers the slightest quirk of a smile as her eyes linger on something, before they return to you.
"Did you wanna pick a room?" An honest question.
"Haven't you already picked?"
She shrugs slightly, fingers tapping across your box. "I mean not really? I'm not too fussed on it."
Neither were you, your back still remembers the leather grooves of the sofa in your Jovian garage.
An impasse.
Her eyes flit over you like dazzling starlight, the tiniest twinkle iridescent and otherworldly.
"I'll just take the spare room."
Her head lilts the side, "are you sure?"
The tiniest hint of a scoff parts your lips, "I'm used to working with less."
Something bubbles under her lips, a soft pout. "Is that why you slept in your garage last night?"
Were you really going to get into that? Your feet come to a halt, eyes skirting over Heejin for the briefest moment.
"Something like that," you offer a weak smile.
A frown deepens across her lips, still she doesn't push it.
It was weird to think about the difference a day could make, no longer were you on edge around her.
Though there was something to be said about partnership.
Her stomach grumbles, an awkward chuckle.
There's a twist of a smile on your lips, secrets could be shared later.
"Takeaways?" She offers, her voice nearly cracking.
You're already in the kitchen looking through her supplies, you beam a smile. "Save your money, I'll make something.”
Tumblr media
“Did you wanna…..?”
You’re too focused on the minutiae, to truly catch what she’s implying.
Thankful, as you look over the weapon cores, even then your eyes falter linger over her beautiful face, her teeth tug at her bottom lip.
You do your best to catch stray thoughts, flickering like candle flame.
Surely?
No, no.
She’s teasing you.
Probably.
Your eyes return to the weapon cores, Heejin had a preference for range. Which means you needed to reconfigure.
Which meant scrapping your melee cores.
Your fingers tap idly against metal… How to save money?
Scan the schematics, upload them to the paragon protocol. Even if Heejin wouldn’t end up using them, they’d be back in an instant.
At least only temporarily, though you could transcr-fingers lace over your shoulders, a firm steady grip.
She was stronger than you expected.
Still her thumbs press into your shoulder.
A soft massage.
“Did you hear me?”
“Mmh,” your only response. You could slot in the secondhand blastback cannon core you purchased before coming to Sanctum.
Her grip tightens, reeling your attention.
“What?”
A sigh mixed with a chuckle blesses your lips.
“I was asking if you wanted to try drifting?” She slinks closer to you, head resting on your shoulder as she scans over the terminal in front of you.
The smell of peaches was slowly becoming a thing of comfort for you. Your heart still races at her close proximity.
Her fingers crest the screen, “It’s sweet you’re worried about weapons.”
A cherry sweet smile.
Yet she still pouts, “but it’s not gonna matter if our compatibility sucks.”
It almost stings.
“Right, right.”
You hadn’t drifted before, there’s an almost anxious tide in your heart.
Her hand pats your shoulder. “I gotcha, don’t worry.”
Evaporated by radiant moonlight.
All it takes is a deep breath to accept her comfort.
She offers you a drive suit, “I’ll meet you inside Glimpse alright?”
All you can offer is a nod, your brain recites whispers from your own parents. Tips lost the etchings of time.
“Don’t lose yourself in the drift,” the words of your father.
“You can’t fight a storm,” the words of your mother.
Your drivesuit is a snug fit, yet somehow loose in the right areas. You pull inside Glimpse, hesitation festering in Heejin’s absence.
Still your body moves through the motions you’ve practised for years, Heejin’s voice rings through your contact.
“Remember, don't try to hide anything in the drift,” she chuckles. “Just relax it and let it flow.”
Your fingers linger on your drive plug, now was your last chance to back out. Your hand trembles with shaky breath.
Heejin believed in you.
“Right, right.” You needed to keep your mind off of it. “How come you know so much?”
You can practically feel her smile, “My uncle taught me.”
Your plug snaps into place. “What’s he like?”
A low hum bristles through her teeth, "How do I put it? Well put together, knowledgeable… patient."
A chuckle echoes through, "Has to be to deal with his husband."
Your terminal lights up, it was now or never.
“I’m ready when you are,” your voice softer than you expected, anxiety itching at the fringes of your mind.
“I’m with you until the end.”
Memories and feelings glitter like shooting stars as the drift engages, a coursing stream flows into a raging river.
Heejin’s memories flicker through your mind, disjointed images on a roll of film, confused and unorganised.
The sound of a guitar echoes through stardust, a tingle of something you can't make out… infatuation?
Your eyes lingers on the source, a young man with dark hair fingers trailing through strings.
A younger Heejin at your side, her eyes glued to his fingers.
A name lingers in your head, Nixsyn.
The memory slips through your fingers as everything blurs and bleeds around, a torrent of rain fills the cup that is your brain.
Despair racks through you, death. Isolation in the unknown grips at every crevice in your brain.
Upturned earth and the smell of singed metal assails your brain, grips your senses.
An explosion rocks through you.
Slowly you drown, unable to keep up with every shift, every turn.
You feel something bubble up in your throat, as you're unable to make out left from right, up from down.
Your brain lurches on instinct, to fight to survive.
Your mother's words come back to you, "don't fight the storm."
The smell of upturned earth and singed metal still lingers in the air.
Home is your first thought.
It stops, the sudden stillness is jarring and unnerving.
Clumps of dirt hang in the air, frozen in the air.
The crowd is still, picture perfect.
You spy yourself, a kid. Your favourite day, flocked by your parents.
An embellishment.
You even notice Heejin in the crowd, had you already become so attached to her in your mind's eye?
"Huh," her words echo behind you, the click of her boots tap away with each step. "Not what I expected."
Her eyes trace over you and your parents, a hint of annoyance.
A slight click of her tongue, "It's nice."
Apprehension lingers in the eves, held together with stitches.
Wounds from your past.
There’s a small crease in her eyebrows, a fitted frown.
A soft smile. “I mean it.”
A brief nod.
Still it lingers.
Her fingers tug at your sleeve, gone is your drive suit in the drift.
“I’m just disappointed,” she adds, her gaze avoiding yours.
You hesitate, “Why?”
Was there something wrong with you?
Her hand grips her neck awkwardly, a nervous shrill of a laugh bounces through the air.
A deep breath.
From her and you.
Her eyes return, a flickering ember.
Resolute.
“I just wanted to…” her gaze weakens once again, eyes lingering on frozen flecks of dirt in the air.
A frown creases her lips, another deep breath, a soft nod.
Your hand clasps over hers.
Another soft, awkward laugh.
“It’s dumb.”
A soft smile rises over your lips.
“I bet it is.”
She rolls her eyes.
A soft slap across your shoulder.
“I’m trying to open up here,” the familiar echo of her laugh, less tense. Melodic and effervescent.
Just how you liked it.
“Go ahead.”
She smiles, “I kinda wanted to show off.”
Your head tilts to the side. “Really?”
She leans against the rail, eyes focused on the inanimate scene before the two of you. “Like I said it’s dumb.”
A glimmer of a smile, a sliver of a glance.
“Why?”
She jostles slightly, shifting her weight between her feet. There’s that unknowable glimmer in her eyes.
“Usually the drift is harder for the Wright,” her eyebrows crease, there’s the hum of something more in throat.
A sigh.
A sombre smile crests her lips, a gust of sadness lingers arctically cool in the air.
There’s a twist in her lips, crisp nostalgia.
“My dad was a Wright."
Your mind is thrown back into the lurch, faded film and heavy waves flash through you.
The high delirious whine of a machine gone mad echoes through your brain.
Dad.
Not your own, fear echoes through the rafters. Images flicker too fast for you to grasp, like frayed and destroyed fabric from a shirt you've never seen.
Dyed in a colour you know too well.
Loss.
Her lips quiver, unsettled by upturned memories, your fingers loop through her own. “My parents were into Jovians too.”
A wordless concession, a show of solidarity.
Her eyes soften over you, the gaze of moonlight. Your eyes roam over the Siegeball field before settling over your parents.
Her grip tightens, a soft hum lines her throat. “Are they why you’re into Siegeball?”
“They used to work with the Kaiju.”
It feels like a prickle at the edge of your neck, the beckoning of something more, infinite. Heejin’s own questions linger at the frayed edges of your own brain.
The drift was truly something else.
Yet as her eyes drift over you and then your parents.
Acceptance, comradery.
A smile tickles over her lips, “we’re more alike than I thought.”
It prickles again, “What makes you say that?” Aside from shared loss. Her fingers pull away from yours, a bloom of sadness explodes through your chest at the sudden loss.
She points herself out in the crowd, slowly your palace flickers at the seams where she sits.
A younger Heejin takes her place, you remember brief glimpses of her buried deep in the recesses.
“I didn’t take you for a Siegeball type of girl?"
She scoffs, your eyes linger on the stage set, one last desperate team fight between the Tigers and the Kaiju.
A match forever etched in your brain.
"Let me guess," your eyes twist back towards her. "Tigers? You seem like a Monarch type of person."
She scoffs harder, a smile dances across her lips, eyes focused on the still scene. "Kaiju, actually.”
There’s the dance of something more, her eyes twinkle against your gaze.
“Kinda what drew me to you.”
Tumblr media
Even with Heejin’s help, maintenance takes longer than you’d like, sweat-caked hours toiling away.
Many would consider Sunday the day of rest, but you were nothing if not a creature of habit.
Heejin’s presence is oddly comforting, even amongst the monotony.
“Heekki?” The nickname foreign in your own mind, awkward on your tongue. Still a smile bristles across her teeth.
A byproduct of the drift?
“Yeah?” She’s beautiful, her hand trailing through sweat soaked hair, her eyes peer into you.
You had her full attention.
Your heart hitches in its steps.
“Why don’t we head home after the next test?”
Her smile deepens, “Only if I get first dibs on a shower.”
Warmth billows across your lips, a soft smile. “Sure, sure.”
Your terminal sings a delicate note, everything was in order.
Yet something tickles your mind, a lingering oddity.
Power draw was higher than usual, even with you diverting some display power.
Maybe you needed to look at the converters?
Familiar fingers dance across your shoulder, "we going?"
Your terminal powers down at your hasty command, "Yeah, of course."
Her eyes linger over you, furrowed eyebrows. "Everything alright?"
Your fingers skip over your chin, "just thinking about what to make for dinner."
A lie.
Her gaze lingers for a moment longer.
A shrug, a bloom of a smile. "Anything you make is good."
The walk through sanctum is a serene affair, guided in the haze of Heejin's own excitement.
Your eyes catch sight of flowers dancing in the wind.
A storefront.
Hydrangea Symphony.
You can't help but watch as an old lady dances with nurtured excitement as she sets up a display, a glimmer of a smile lingers as she returns your gaze.
A soft wink, as she continues her dance.
"Hm? How come you stopped?"
A soft smile dots your lips.
"No reason."
Sunlight dances through familiar streets, a last waltz that flickers and dims as you reach your dorm complex.
You had grown so used to sleeping in your garage growing up, that even the minute luxuries seemed foreign.
Your elevator sings a melodious tune as it crests the final floor, the throne of luxury.
Two familiar figures linger in the hallway, one tall and broad-shouldered, the other lean, the pinnacle of fashion.
“Hey Heekki,” the voice is soft and tender, a gentle giant. “Did you guys just get back from the garage?”
She gives him a soft courteous nod, a warm smile flickers across her lips. “Yeah, you know me, nose to the grindstone.”
Her words elicit a chuckle from the large male, his eyes dance over you for a second before offering a hand. “You must be Kai.”
“BM.” His hand is soft, yet firm, a comforting grip. “Heekki’s told me a lot about you.”
She smacks his shoulder, a levelled glare.
His smile widens, “good things I promise.”
His eyes twitch over his own pilot, “GD was telling me that your Jovian is made from Siegeball Jovians. That’s pretty resourceful.”
Your eyes hover over the pilot, a weird sense of familiarity lingers in your brain like a shirt worn in your childhood.
It clicks like a tumbler in a lock, you offer your hand. “You’re Ravine’s kid?”
His eyes widen ever so slightly, a smile lingers on his lips. “Adopted.”
“Family is still family, especially if it’s by choice,” he returns a soft nod, still the smile lingers, a bloom of happiness at your words.
His eyes have a soft hold over you, as his eyes shift over the other two, lost in their own conversation.
Almost like bickering siblings.
“Everything alright with Glimpse?” There’s the shadow of something more, a spark of knowledge.
"Nothing major," not a white lie, you only hoped it wasn't the drop of snow that'd start an avalanche.
There's the slight crease of a frown pressed into his lips.
Worry.
BM’s hand peels him away from the thought, “we should get going, you know how Jiwoo gets.”
He smiles, his hand claps against BM’s shoulder. “I know, I know.”
He offers a two finger salute, “I’ll see you around Kai.”
A gesture you return, a smile lingers held between the two of you as they depart.
The crisp warm edges of sunset greet you as you enter your abode, the echoing spatter of water against tiles tells you that Heejin snuck away towards her date with the shower.
Your feet dance slowly towards the kitchen, hardwood floors flexing with each dance number.
What to make for dinner?
Burgers were always a good option, leftovers could be used for lunch the next day.
Beetroot and breadcrumbs would be a fine basis for a vegan option, Heejin's preference.
You linger on the countertop, had you forgotten to pack away your lunchbox?
You had a test tomorrow, a grimace folds across your features. So soon in the school year, truly torturous.
A fleck of white card peeks out from within the opaque plastic shell.
A glimmer of temptation guides your hand.
A card, lovingly crafted and printed.
A kaiju giving a thumbs up.
Good Luck.
An attempt at lunch lines the container and a small note with money attached.
Your heart aches in a trepidatiously soft way, melancholy.
Was this what it meant to no longer be alone?
Tears prick at the edge of your eyes.
You hear the soft rattle of the bathroom door knob, your hands work quickly to put everything back in its place.
Her footfalls echo and bounce as you return to dicing onions.
A knot of concern lingers in her brows, "everything alright?"
A shiver trembles past her lips, a prickle at the nape of your neck.
"Yeah, just cutting onions…" Your eyes linger as she hugs herself for warmth. "You don't have a sweater or something?"
A frown presses itself across her lips, your eyes linger on your box of keepsakes.
The prickle softens.
"You can wear my jacket," your eyes return to the task at hand, your stomach wouldn't feed itself.
Still you catch a glimmer of a raised eyebrow, "are you sure?”
A soft smile on your lips, “yeah, it’s just a jacket.”
She scoffs lightly, her eyes gilded with something. "Not just any jacket," she scoots closer to you, bomber jacket in hand.
"it's Alpaca's jacket from when he was on Sabretooth Black," there's a raised eyebrow and a hint of surprise, an almost incredulous look.
Like you found Atlantis without realising.
"Sabretooth Black?" You hadn't heard of that team. Only Sabretooth Red, even then they were still before your time in Siegeball.
She rolls her eyes, her hand dragging across the kitchen counter.
She offers it to you with a slight grumble.
You don't even look up at her, focus still on cooking.
"You can keep it."
There's a slight dawdle in her steps, an eerie uncertainty normally unfounded.
"...Are you sure?"
"Of course…” Your knife clatters against the chopping board.
“Plus you’re my pilot, where with each other for the long haul.”

“Come on, it’ll be fun,” a twist of a smile lingers on her lips. She’s dressed to the nines, the same familiar tartan dress, held astride your bomber jacket.
You roll your eyes, as you return to your terminal.
“Come on,” she tugs at your sleeve, “you can meet Jiwoo, she’s super cute and absolutely loaded.”
A deep sigh crests through your lungs, fingers massaging deep into your temples. “Heekki.”
“It’ll be cool,” a cocky smirk, a wink. “You might even be able to get a date with my help.”
You scoff, a chuckle brims at the edge of your lips.
“Not happening.”
A flicker of a frown threatens to scorch at your heart, a glimmer radiates from your terminal.
Saved by Glimpse.
Still a frown settles on your lips, power draw issues once again.
“Glimpse needs some work.”
Her eyebrows crease together, a tilt of her neck. “I can pack it in and hel-”
The motion of your hand cuts her off before you slowly nudge her out the door. “I wouldn’t worry about it,” a smile tugs at your lips.
“Are you su-”
“Yeah, yeah.” You practically fight to get her out the door, her strength was nothing to shirk at.
Even among the clamour of limbs her eyes soften, “Just maintenance.”
She rolls her eyes, “so excuses basically?”
“You caught me.”
Tumblr media
“So-”
“No”
Tumblr media
“It’ll be f-”
“Not happening”
Tumblr media
“I need some help with my homework,” a glimmer of a smile.
“Let me guess you need to research the effects of alcohol and other substances on pilots and wright?”
Somehow, Glimpse’s power draw issues had gotten worse, even after installing filters to the Tyrium converters.
You’d hate to think it was the converters themselves.
“...Maybe?” Her eyes linger softly like snow, a cautious glance at you, there’s a hint of a smile boiling to the surface, a shimmer of hope.
Anything to get you to come along.
A click of your tongue, “Not happening Heej”
“Fine,” a withheld sigh.
Tumblr media
Hot lead scatters and trails like shooting stars in the night sky, a dangerous beauty. Sparks crackle and bloom as bullets skim across your cover.
“Why am I the one in the thick of things again?”
Your knife twirls ideally in your hand, you really did bring a knife to a gun fight huh?
You hear the glimmer of a smile, an echo of a laugh over your contact. “Last time I checked you didn’t know how to use a sniper rifle.”
The familiar clang of Heejin’s bolt handle echoes through her contact, “plus you look pretty good from up here.”
You can hear the cocky swagger of her smirk without even seeing it.
Still bullets trail like shooting stars above you, you dare a peek past cover.
A stray bullet is nearly your just reward.
“Uh, Heekki?” Is all you can manage.
“Hm?”
“Some help would be nice?” Steps echo closer to you, heavy armoured foot falls.
If only you hadn’t alerted the whole complex, a thought you mule over as a metallic egg shaped object soars through the air.
A grenade.
“I dunno,” her voice hums through your contact. “Seems like a nice old party.”
Really? Is the thought that lingers as you scramble for more cover, as an explosion rocks through the air.
Heated air brushes dangerously close to your skin as you stumble, “we’re seriously doing this right now?”
“Maybe?” Despite the danger, there’s a ghost of a smile held to your lips.
Still, your feet slip against concrete as bullets arc overhead.
Lucky security skimped out on accuracy protocols for their androids.
You manage to huddle around a corner, your eyes catch the familiar glint of glass on a nearby building.
Heejin.
You quickly peek back past the corner, your pursuers ever encroaching like the waves in the ocean.
“Fine, fine. What do you want?”
You hear the glimmer of a smile, the hitch of her breath. “You know what I want.”
You roll your eyes despite the imminent danger.
“Fine.”
Still, no bullets are fired from her sniper’s nest, there’s a sudden edge teasing at your brain.
“Promise.”
“Alright, I promise I’ll go to the next party you invite me to? Happy?”
“And?”
“And?” Your mind scrambles for anything else, “I’m sorry for insulting your mad gun skills? What else do you want?”
She chuckles, “Hm? Flowers?”
You roll your eyes, even if there’s something nestled in your heart that glimmers at the idea. “Fine you got it. Just get me out of this mess.”
She laughs again, “What’s the magic word?”
You scoff, “My grade is gonna be so bad because of you.”
“Please.”
Tumblr media
Time echoes and drifts like leaves in the wind, days and weeks roll by without even a peep or a mention of one of Jiwoo’s parties.
At least not from Heejin, conversations and stories from BM and GD dance in the revelry. Yet even they notice Heejin’s lack of appearance.
An odd detail to say the least, considering she disappears every friday night.
It made no matter, you weren't her owner.
Still your hands tighten around a bouquet of flowers.
Lilies, Haesul's suggestion. Meant to symbolise rebirth or something.
The glitter of excitement in her eyes meant she knew what she was talking about.
Your mind trails over the last couple weeks, no missteps or mistakes. Heejin had been as pleasant as ever, her laughter a joyous thing.
The only lingering problem was Glimpse and its power issues, exacerbated everytime you drifted with Heejin.
At least that's what the numbers said.
An issue for another night, too many wasted late nights fighting back the weight of gravity.
Your hand clutches your door knob, the sound of guitar strings barely parting through solid wood, you swear you hear the sound of muffled singing.
Yet as you twist the handle or better yet, try to twist the handle. It remains stiff.
Locked.
A puzzling twist, still your key works all the same. Heejin didn't decide to change the locks on you.
Though anxiety still lingers at the mere hint of the thought.
Still the door parts, if only barely
“With you I’d float everywhere, with you I’d…” her voice sings, soft dulcet tones.
The door bangs against something, a rattle echoes and suddenly the music stops.
“Hold up,” she calls, “I’ll be right there.”
Her eyes glimmered with the hint of a smile, “Sorry, I didn’t expect you home so soon.”
You hear the shuffle of various things before finally the door moves, strewn paint and canvas. Cloth bundled at the door to protect the floors.
There’s an unbeckoned warmth in her eyes as her gaze lingers on you, her voice is soft, and delicate.
Her fingers tug on your hand as she pulls you inside, “it’s good to have you home.”
Her hands tug at your shirt, desperate to pull you closer, her fingers catch on the bouquet before you can even ask.
“What’s this?” her hands clasp over yours, a quirk of a surprised eyebrow.
A smile dots your lips, “What’s it look like? Flowers.”
Her eyes soften, held under your gaze, a brief tender sweet moment.
A crinkle of a cheeky smile and you know the moment is gonna be ruined, she removes the bouquet from your grasp with a cursory sniff.
“So you met Haesul?” There’s a glimmer of mischief in her eyes, you can’t help the sinking feeling in your stomach.
Your eyes narrow, what was she up to? A quirk of your neck, “...Yeah?”
“She’s pretty cute isn’t she?” Lips lined with a teasing glint.
You roll your eyes, "I mean yeah I guess?"
You slowly make your way through strewn art supplies, did she do this every Friday instead of partying?
Her handiwork must be no joke if she evaded leaving even a fraction of evidence.
Still there's a genuine heartfelt smile as she takes another whiff.
"I'm surprised you remembered."
Your eyebrows knit together, as you pull ingredients from the cupboard, a nice stew would be good.
"Why wouldn't I?"
She hums, emptying out a vase she used for painting, there’s a softness in her touch. Like a misstep would spell the end of your gift.
Still she manages well enough.
"...It was kind of a joke,” there’s a weird earnest quiver to her voice, soft and silken.
Even if it was a joke, the brimming coals of warmth that light her smile let you know it’s appreciated.
Her eyes twinkle over, “You won’t find any complaints from me, though.”
Questions teem at the edge of your lips, did you have the strength?
“How come you haven’t been going to any of Jiwoo’s parties?”
She cocks her head to the side, there’s a shimmer of something deeper held in her eyes.
A shrug, “No real reason, just focusing on my art.”
A smirk etches itself across her lips, “why? You suddenly eager for some party fever?”
She does a little mock dance, a chuckle escapes your lips.
“You just seemed so hellbent on getting me to go was all?”
She offers a soft nod as your words drift through the air, a smile rises to her lips. “I didn’t want to force you.”
Even as you work on cooking, your fingers nudge and pull at hers, interlocked in a tight embrace.
Even as steam blooms on the element, your eyes are still held by her warmth.
“I might not be the social type… But I’d do anything to feel welcomed in your world,” her eyes soften like dewy raindrops after the morning frost, each word threatens to spill her over the edge.
Still, your gaze avoids her in the heat of it all, your neck itches at the sudden attention. “I’ve just been so preoccupied with Glimpse.”
She smiles the tender warm, soft smile, a finger pokes you in the side zapping your attention back to her. Her smile blooms with that knowing cheekiness.
“Power draw issues?’
A disappointed chuckle trembles past your lips, “You knew?”
She scoffs, a knowing roll of her eyes. “I am the one who has to pilot her you know?”
Another finger prods your side, “of course I know when something feels off.”
Your body crumples to cover your weak spot, a laugh echoes through your lips. “I get it, I get it.”
Another prod, “Could you please stop.”
Her finger teases the surface of your side, yet she relents. “Did you want my thoughts?”
Your hand nurses your side, “Yeah sure.”
“We could try pushing it to Grade 3,” she muses fingers cresting her chin. “It’d gave us the space to hopefully work out what’s wrong.”
Part of you did worry it’d only exacerbate the problem.
“Don’t worry so much,” her hand pats your back. “At the very least we can install a power recapture unit. It won’t fix the problem but It’ll make it less noticeable.”
Tumblr media
The clash of alcohol lingers in your lungs, an almost foreign substance given your predilection for hardwork.
Still it soothes your heart and cools your heated anxious thoughts, like the breathy kiss of the arctic.
Your eyes lingers as you stretch tired muscles, Glimpse was a lot more work than you’d anticipated. Tiredness laps at your spirit if not your soul
When was the last time you relaxed?
Embers of time spent with Heejin, the only grace which you reach the light of the next day.
At least with all your allnighters.
The slightest hint of a scoff greets your ears, a flutter of silver in a sea of obsidian.
“Wow, you are real,” there’s a twisted glimmer of a smile, her words lined with a loving bite. She picks you apart with her gaze.
Jeon Jiwoo, illustrious party thrower and deal maker.
Her hand skims through her hair, rolling waves of dancing silver and black. “Almost thought she was making you up.”
Still her hand graces your shoulder, a pinch to confirm.
You do your best to hide any reaction, “and what does Heekki say about me?”
There's a slight tilt of her head, eyes peering deep as her eyes widen. “Heekki huh?”
A genuine smile creases her lips, her eyes narrow. “I haven’t heard anyone call her that in a long time.”
Her eyes shift ever so slightly, a thoughtful frown. “Well aside from BM and Nix.”
Your eyebrows clutch together, Nix a name gifted by the drift, “Nix?”
There’s a glimmer of teeth, her fingers toy with your shirt. “How much is that name worth for you?”
Her fingers are soft, yet it feels like a knife to your throat.
Ever the businesswoman.
The slightest hitch in your breath releases her touch, “I’m kidding…”
Her gaze lingers, you were nothing but a cub in front of a huntress, a nervous gulp of liquor lines your throat.
A reflex you didn’t know you had, still it burns through your palate.
Her hand pulls your glass away, a chuckle tickles her lips. “Have you considered adding a mixer?”
Her lips crest the glass as she downs half of your drink, you swear you notice the ghost of a wink. She pulls cola from the other side of the bar counter with a practised ease.
A splash to ease your future burdens, smoother with only the slightest burden.
A master in every sense of merriment.
She leans her back against the bar counter, there’s something iridescent in her splendour.
The embodiment of Bacchus given human form, a goddess.
She was beautiful, an inexplicable truth of the universe, even with the devilish glint in her eyes.
Intoxicatingly alluring.
Nothing but a flicker of a candle to Heejin.
Still she picks you apart, calculating even as she takes a swig of alcohol. She holds a certain amount of gravitas, sound parts for her voice even through the booming bass.
A smirk.
Her fingers drum against the counter, a slow melodic beat, the shared quiet is suffocating. Your eyes dance over your classmates, truly taking them in.
L.E, part of the illustrious Rogue Nemesis, Pilot-Wright Duo, and a constant reminder that your social skills need some work, a giggle dances across her lips, probably a joke Hani told.
Still she offers you a soft wave, when you catch her eyes for a fraction of a second.
At least she’d forgiven you for the fight you got into at the beginning of the year.
It was still awkward nonetheless.
Hani’s eyes follow her Wright’s, even at such a distance an almost primal fear grips you.
The gaze of a beast unchained.
Still there’s an awkward glimmer of a smile, paired with an equally awkward wave.
You catch an invisible tug of war between L.E and Prince Godfrey lost in the microseconds that you hold Hani’s gaze.
Interesting.
The cunning glint in Jiwoo’s eye confirms it was no trick of the light, a smile lingers on her lips even as she turns to you.
“Why?” A cocked eyebrow, a tilt of neck, something she can’t quite pick apart.
“Why?”
She rolls her eyes, there’s an edge of disinterest.
A sigh crests her lips, “why do you wanna about Nix?”
Your brain tosses and turns, to lie under such piercing eyes was a waste of time, but knowledge is power after all. Even now you feel the slightest pang, at Heejin’s infatuation with the male.
She scoffs, another roll of her eyes, a practised swig, she gestures towards the balcony, moonlight dances ever soft through glass panes
“Talk to Heekki about it.”
There she stands huddled against the railing in your bomber jacket, a prickle dances across the nape of your neck.
You down what you can manage from your poisoned vessel, a sour bitter grunt parts your lips.
A chuckle rumbles through Jiwoo’s lips, “I’ll make sure nobody disturbs the two of you.”
“Thanks?”
There’s that devious smirk again.
“Just remember me when you need anything alright?”
Suddenly you can breathe again when your lungs greet the cool night air, Heejin’s humming the only melody that blesses your ears.
The moon hangs full in the air bathing her in glittering moonlight.
Picture perfect.
Another snapshot from your contact.
Her fingers drum against the railing with increasing frustration, as her voice fails.
A beleaguered sigh, as she turns her back to the railing, her eyes coil tentatively around you.
A cherry sweet smile, billowing warmth swells in your chest.
The slow crash of ever distant waves, the only conversation.
Still, a glint of mischief shines delicately in her eyes.
“S-”
“H-”
A chuckle rolls past her lips as you creep closer to her side, a mirror to your own weak laugh.
Her head tilts to the side, a curious expression etched into her eyebrows.
“...Wait, is that?” A fake gasp, paired with a faux shocked expression. “Alcohol?’
Her hands jostle you ever so slightly, “Who are you and what did you do to my dear Wright.”
A wry smile crests your lips, “dear huh?”
She rolls her eyes, a flutter of a wink. “Someone had to be saddled with the burden, it just so happened to be me~”
Ouch.
Despite her cheeriness, a weird edge prickles at the nape of your neck.
Uneasy trepidation.
If only you were braver.
You lean against the rail, wisps of cool soothing air roll through your hair.
Your own anxiety pokes and prods at your chest.
Heejin tugs at your arm wordlessly, pulling you closer. She rests her head on your shoulder.
She fits against you like a glove, it’s almost sickeningly perfect.
“So?” You glance at her.
A crest, a smile dots her lips, her eyes soft like velvet. “So?” She teases.
You swear she snuggles closer into your shoulder, but maybe that’s just the alcohol?
Ask her about Nix.
“Did you wanna…” Her grip tightens. “Do the Sundown tournament?”
She rolls her eyes, a wry smirk as she pulls away. “I know we finished doing upgrades not that long ago." She shakes her head, “But not with both L.E and Hyunjin in the mix.”
“Hyunjin?”
Flecks of a whispered curse part her lips, her eyes narrow ever so slightly.
"Prince Godfrey," she mumbles, there's a chip of shame hidden in her voice, there's a twist in her posture as she turns away ever so slightly.
Yet her knuckles are bone white as she grips desperately at the railing.
She fights to stay in your presence, you feel it like a wave of nausea from the base of your neck.
Suffocating like an ocean of oil, one small spark to burn everything she's built to the ground.
Your arms link around her waist as you pull her close. Even as you fight off errant dark thoughts, you worry about her.
You rest your chin on top of her head, your arm strums her back hoping to placate whatever chokes at her heart.
"Talk to me Heekki," you coo.
Only now do you hear the rapid uneven breaths, ragged and uneasy trapped behind a steel cold face.
Each strum eases her slowly but surely. You rock side to side like the gentle waves of the ocean.
"I don't belong anywhere," her words are fragile like sheets of ice cresting a deep abyss.
There's a lion in your throat, in your heart. Rattling against chains and cage a like.
A seething anger.
Her fingers tug at yours, looping together. A soft glance kills any words you have.
"That's what I thought," flickers of old unfocused film sear into your brain.
A young Heejin alone in a grandiose house, a flickering digital distortion of a father.
There's only a single detail you can pick out, his white Tyrium necklace.
A moon.
Her mother, worn and over exposed, nothing but an outline.
Calosso, whispered on distant winds.
The finer details were lost to you.
But you knew loneliness, as a young Heejin plays sullenly by herself, the business of adults a foreign concept to her nascent memories.
Shunned by her would-be peers.
"She's a gross Arg."
"Not even her corpo family wanted her."
The lion in you roars aimlessly, you had no effect on the past.
One kid approaches her, flock of black hair, a snotty nose and a cheeky toothy grin.
"That's when he proved me wrong."
He offers a slightly snotty hand, only now did you notice the missing teeth in his smile.
Gaps from lost baby teeth or fights, you couldn't tell.
A total unabated ladies man.
Nix Valentine, heir to house Valentine.
Still there was something to be said about his raw confidence, flaws and all.
Even as Heejin’s nascent heart swims in the depths of anxiety, you feel the tiny flickering surges of infatuation.
She frowns, "you heard the other kids."
There's an almost impressively grumpy expression seared into Nix's face before he flicks Heejin’s forehead ever so slightly.
His eyes scan the room, like a comically dastardly villain, before he takes the biggest inhale you've ever seen.
Even as a memory you worry for his health as his face turns red and then slowly purple, feet slamming the ground like a sumo before a bout.
"Fuck'em," he bellows from the top of his tiny lungs, shocked gasps and hush whispers quickly spread like a pandemic.
A beleaguered sigh permeates the lips of a certain noble, an air of unequivocal patience hangs in the air, the inevitable heat death of the universe would occur before he'd give up on you.
"Nixsyn," his voice soft like a feather, yet his eyes have a knife-like edge as he peers at his son.
A familiar cheeky smile is all he offers, his hand tugs tightly at Heejin's.
"I'm assuming this is your way of asking to be excused?" Even you catch the small glimmer of a smile.
He waves with Heejin’s hand.
Lord Valentine's eyes peer through the meeting hall, settling on Heejin's mother in an instant.
"Excuse me Lady Calosso-" she almost shrinks under the sudden attention, a tremble runs through her before she makes a hasty bow.
Something Lord Valentine instantly returns with a graceful ease, "there's no need for that Lady Calosso."
He offers a soft smile, "I only ask if the young Lord Valentine is acceptable company for young Lady Calosso."
"Ah o-"
Lord Valentine simply raises a hand, a smirk plays against his lips.
"I will take no offence, if so-" your eyes linger as Nix rubs snot into his dress shirt and then into the floor.
A wry smile, his eyes filled with nothing but love. "I will merely chalk it up to Edmond's side."
A rumbulous chortle echoes through the hall.
An almost invisible weight lifts off Lady Calosso's shoulders, a smile dances across her lips. "As long as Heejin is happy, I will acquiesce m'lord."
"Very well, I will ask the house to kindly excuse me for a moment," he promptly bows before scooping up Nix, who reluctantly lets go of Heejin’s wrist.
He squats at a level height to Heejin, his eyes run over Heejin, in a way that's eerily familiar to Jiwoo's own gaze, yet so starkly different.
There's an indescribable kindness and warmth to his gaze.
Heartwarming and smooth like hot cocoa on a winter's night.
He offers a hand to Heejin, "Which would you prefer? Young Lady Calosso or Miss Heejin?"
She falters for a second, much like her mother. "Heejin if that's alright with you sir-I mean Lord Valentine."
Even fear lingers in the rafters of her mind.
He chuckles, before hiding his face from the purview of others, "I much prefer people call me just Rolande too."
A wide smile dots his lips.
Still she stares at him, half expecting him to just drag her along. "Would like to get out of this stuffy meeting hall Mis-ah my bad."
He takes a deep breath, "Heejin, would you like to actually have fun as a child should?"
You'd heard of Valen nobility growing and, well it wasn't like this. Even if the idea was somewhat foreign.
"Are you sure Lord Valentine?" There's a glimmer of a stern look before a smile twists across his face.
A giggle rumbles through her lips, "Sorry Mr Rolande."
"It's alright Heejin, but why wouldn't I be sure?" There's a fragment of sadness in his eyes. "Are you a bad person my dear?"
There's almost a cross look focused into her brow. "No?"
"Do you think you'll become a bad person?" He quirks an eyebrow.
"I don't believe so Mr Rolande," her lip quivers with uncertainty. "But I could never know."
He rests a hand on her small shoulder, a serious glint lingers in his eyes. "My dear, evil occurs in the absence, the retrieval and in the protection of love. We as your forebears should be held to blame if you are not given enough love to learn how to live in its loss."
She reaches tentatively for his hand, a wry smile dots his lips before he retracts his ever so slightly. "It's my turn to ask if you're sure."
A warm belly laugh echoes through his throat, you'd been held too tight by his words you almost forgot about his gremlin son, thrashing about in his care.
"I can only protect you from so much," he fake cries, "otherwise I worry he might be stuck to your hip for the rest of your life."
Her eyebrows strain under the weight of sudden responsibility, her fists clench as her features tighten.
A single serious nod.
"Welcome to the family," he brims with warmth as he takes her hand in his.
You roll your fingers over whatever you can, anything to ground your inverted, warped brain.
Your fingers click over the metallic railing, Jiwoo's party.
Heejin's hand tugs against yours, pushing your fingers against the familiar fabric oh her-your bomber jacket.
Still you feel her pulled tight to your chest, bile builds in your throat.
The drift or the alcohol, you can't tell.
Your fingers dance across her, a slow, soft sonata as moonlight pools and dances across the waves.
The emptiness is haunting, the last echoes before the end.
Your dancing fingers end their performance with a bow. You roll your fingers through Heejin's hair, soft like silk.
Your lips purse, "So… You're a noble?"
She huffs looking up at you, her chin threatening to dig into your flesh. "Yes and no, my mother inherited a Vassal house title. Which makes me a Vassal to house Val-"
"I'm Gritinan, it's the same diff to me," a chuckle rolls through you. "Here I was thinking you had some secret love affair with the Prince."
She scoffs, slamming a fist into your chest, "here I am opening up my heart and you're imagining life's a soap opera."
She pulls away crossing her arms, fingers dancing across elbows, even still you can't help but notice the twitch of a smile on her lips.
"Alright, alright I'm sorry Heekki?” A wry smile dances across your lips. “But at least you're smiling now? "
She forces a frown across her lips, fingers twisting at her braid.
She rolls her eyes with a smile, "yeah, yeah you're right."
Still questions linger and roll at the edges, we're you brave enough to risk a step in the abyss.
"Heek-" her eyes pierce deep.
"Nix was the one that gave me that nickname,"  you feel it in your neck before you see it, a nostalgic melancholy lovingly sealed in the slightest frown.
She braces her forearms against the railing, eyes focused on the moon. Still there's a fragment of a smile. "He came up with it when BM struggled with my name."
There's a soft almost pained laugh, "I dunno why he found that easier."
She frowns, her eyes soften as they linger over you. "That's who you were gonna ask
about right?"
"Heej, we don't hav-"
A soft almost pained smile, I don't want the if and maybes to eat up at you.
Her fingers delicate like porcelain tug at yours in a soft embrace, yet still she maintains her distance.
Her eyes dance across the moon with wistful nostalgia.
"I was supposed to be his pilot, I owed him that much. It was the least I could after…"
A somber delicate dance grasps desperately at her necklace. "My dad."
Your thumb pads across her hand, a soft delicate touch.
It hurts through the frayed edges, like swallowing molten hot shattered glass.
She chokes out a heavy strained breath, eyes clouded with misty sorrowful fog.
"He used to get into fights a lot growing up," her hand slowly picks at the rail, itching away with a nervous cadence.
"I was the one who'd always patch him up," it almost hurts when she smiles, a shard of her pleasing laugh forced and unnatural.
"BM would try his best, Jiwoo ever the businesswoman started charging him with every visit," her eyes linger on the moon as if it recites every memory back to her. "I think it was her way of keeping him out of trouble."
Her eyes switch back to you, for only a second.
"He was the reason I got into Siegeball," a tender warm chuckle bubbles at her lips. A warm smile tugs desperately at her lips. "I've lost count how many times I had to redo his stitches because he got too excited watching a game."
Only to falter and die a lonely death.
It hurts to feel even a fraction of her pain, let alone dig up shards of fractured painful memories.
"It's funny, everyone always saw him as a figure, a name. I can only imagine what it's like for a Godfrey."
A deep breath is what you need, a cigarette would be good too.
Not that you've ever had one.
In.
"He'll always be that snotty brat with a-"
Out.
"toothy smil-"
"Heej," her head snaps to you, a desperate plea squeezes her hand. “You’re rambling.”
Her fingers knit desperately against yours, a deep grounding breath.
“What happened with Nix?”
She takes another deep breath, and suddenly the weight of a blackhole settles in your gut, a frown creases her lips.
Her fingers pull tight against her own.
“He fell in love.”
Yet somehow it only truly hurts when she forces a smile.
Your own breathing picks up, ragged on edge. Suddenly it’s like breathing water, no matter how hard you try to fight through it.
Yet your voice? placid like an undisturbed lake.
“I’m sorry… I know he meant a lot to you.”
She takes another deep breath and slowly it becomes easier to breath. There’s an almost bittersweet frown on her lips.
“Don’t be… I saw it coming,” she offers a genuine thankful smile. She tugs at both of your hands, her eyes firmly rooted on the floor, her voice drops barely above a mumble. “Thanks for listening, even though I was a mess about it.”
You pull her into a deep hug as she eagerly buries her face in your chest, a soft whisper.
“What’d you love the most about him?” You feel the twitch of a smile against your neck, she looks up at you.
“I didn’t have older siblings growing up, I was an only child,” her lips purse lost in thought. “I wanted to be just like him.”
Oh.
Oh.
Oh.
Her eyes narrow as your brain stutters, still she laughs a soft delicate laugh brimming with mirth.
She snuggles deeper into you, “we should probably head back inside before Jiwoo starts rumours for fun… again.”
She rolls her eyes at the thought.
Still the thoughts linger.
“Wait, so Jiwoo’s a noble?”
She responds with a soft nod, “Don’t tell anyone though, otherwise you might wake up in a nice cosy ice bath.”
The thought sends a shiver down your spine.
“Right, right. Don’t need to tell me twice,” you nod to yourself, fingers dancing across your chin. “Wait… does GD know BM is a noble?”
“Yeah?”
“So I was the only idiot who didn’t know?”
She smiles that cherry sweet smile and  your worries fade into stardust.
Her lips soften poised with a serious edge.
“Hey, could you do me a favour?”
“Isn’t me being here enough for you Heekki?” you tease.
“Please?”
“Well, when you put it like that I’m more than happy to m’lady,” you mock with an exaggerated curtsy.
She rolls her eyes, “close your eyes and don’t peak,” she adds dryly.
You shut your eyes at her request, only now do you feel the wobble of alcohol in your veins as your point of balance warps and bends ever so slowly.
You feel the slightest prickle in your neck, smooth rock against lips that aren’t your own.
Her hand crests your cheek as you feel woven cord tickle the back of your neck, worn film flickers through your mind’s eyes, the distorted silhouette of Heejin’s father.
“For the one you treasure most in the world. To guide them home safe free from harm.”
A smile crests your lips, you mattered most to her an unspoken confession of sorts.Your fingers dance across unfamiliar grooves with mirthful delight.
If this was the limits of your relationship, it’d be a fine capstone. A gift wrought not by your own hands.
Still you are blessed ever more with the cherry sweet caress of Heejin’s lips pressed against your cheek accompanied by a hushed whisper.
“My idiot.”
You open your eyes as Heejin avoids your gaze, her hand tugging you along, “thanks for accepting me no matter what.”
It’s almost nonsensical to think you’d ever reject her existence, “I could say the same to you Heekki.”
Tumblr media
It feels like 3am, your muscles groan as you stretch and roll over, the slight bang of a hangover worms away at your brain.
Sundown celebrations, a flurry of alcohol and peer pressure… Mostly from Jiwoo.
Still you’d imbibe anything that would help the stars in Heejin’s eyes glister with such lustre. You still remember the ribbing elbow pressed into Hyunjin’s side as he groaned.
The echoes of mockery that bounced from Heejin’s lips, like a younger sibling out how ugly you were.
Still he’d smile inbetween shots of alcohol, a wounded lion in pride only.
A mistake on your part to match him shot for shot after a loss.
You toss over once again, settling into the comfiest spot you can find in your bed.
As your brain drifts ever so softly into the delicate embrace of sleep, you hear Heejin’s voice muffled and soft.
A beleaguered sigh, the croak of her morning voice. "What is it Myrin?" She yawns.
Even if curiosity tickles the edge of your brain, you still long for the embrace of sleep your fingers run over her necklace, your necklace.
“I have plans today, Myrin. Can’t somebody else sort it?” she groans, there’s a slight bang as you assume she puts her shoes on. “You know I’m asking an important question today.”
“God’s Crown?” her voice gets softer the closer she gets to your room, “Right, I’m guessing Rogue Nemesis isn’t on the table either?”
A smile lines your lips, crested by the edge of sleep, you can only imagine the way she’d roll her eyes.
Still your brain sails to distant shores, pulled by the tug of sleep your mind drifts. Echoes of memories and wishes, your feet pad across concrete Heejin in tow.
Your hands shake and tremble with the weight of four drinks in one arm, hot chips in another. Still you’re entranced with the way Heejin skips with child-like joy as eyes pick apart the crowd finding familiar faces.
Slowly, following her guiding hand you find your seats. Joy dances across your lips as you pass drinks to your parents.
Peace washes over you, Team Kaiju had made it to the final in a miraculous run, you’d managed to score seats for the important people in your life.
Still, a yawn parts through your lips, there’s a soft smile from Heejin. She pats her lap, a pillow.
A cloud couldn’t compare to the comfort, even as the sun crests your eyes.
“I’ll wake you after the preshow,” she coos, fingers running through your hair.
A soft nod is all you offer as you tumble deeper.
You feel something pressed softly against the edge of your brow and your forehead, a smile.
“Kai,” she calls, soft like raindrops in a rainforest.
You grumble and stir, “hm?”
“We have an assignment.”
You groan as you stretch ever so slightly, eyes still worn closed, “But today is supposed to be a day off?”
You yawn, “we’re supposed to go to the Moon Rise Festival,” her fingers pass through your hair once again.
“I know, but no one else can do it,” there’s a slight frown on her lips. “Not after Sundown… and Taemin’s eager demonstration.”
“What time is it?” You sit up with another yawn already missing Heejin’s embrace.
Her eyes soften, offering a delicately warm smile. “10am, we have two hours for last minute checks and then we’re heading to the boneyard.”
You rub your eyes with the back of your hand, “a Jovian in op in Me’khani?”
“Not what you expected on the school itinerary?” she teases,a flicker of joy in her smile.
“I was actually expecting to fight aliens on the moon,” you roll your eyes, there’s a playful smack against your shoulder. “We got any details yet?”
“Well, Argentium,” her eyes drift slightly searching for detail. “Selene reported a Jovian of unknown affiliation making its way through the mountains bordering Me’khani.”
Your eyebrows knit together, even in your tired state it sounded odd. Argentium didn’t usually drop the ball so hard, not unless someone was hiding something.
Still you shrug, “What’s it’s designation? Do we know.”
“Blackberry Narcissist.”
Even stranger, you stretch your neck. “So what’s our success criteria?”
There’s the slightest hint of a smile, “ever the hard worker,” her fingers dance across your palm.
“Guard duty until we’re relieved by someone else,” there’s a smirk plastered on her face as she tilts her head. “I wouldn’t worry about grades though, I managed to convince Myrin to give us the best grades he could~”
“Should I be worried that you have such a hold over our principal?’
“You’re surprised I have sway over Myrin Valentine?”
Makes sense, you’d heard stories of the devilish grip a younger sister could have on a family of older brothers.
Did that mean you’d have to worry about impressing Nix and Myrin?
You shudder if so slightly.
“Do you know what time we’re getting relieved?”
“Around 7pm? Give or take an hour, we might be able to get back for the last hour or so of the festival if we’re lucky,” she smiles, eyes crescent like the moon.
“Damn, you’re something of a miracle worker huh?” Your fingers loop through hers. “What’s the plan if we don’t get back in time?”
“Well, I have some ideas~” she tugs at your hand eagerly pulling you out of bed. “I might even have an idea for a date… as friends... obviously.”
“Obviously.”
Tumblr media
Even as the shift settles as dust and sparks collide, your fingers work hard… tirelessly.
To turn back the fingers of time.
To fight against fate itself.
Heat flares to life around you or maybe you only noticed it now through crisp sweat.
You feel her lingering thoughts, a sign of life… you hope.
You still had time, maybe you could reroute the trauma switch?
Sure it wasn’t something of your own creation, but it was still hardware and software. An unintelligible system that should bow to your command.
That’s when you hear it between the furious clatter of keys between your fingers.
A gut wrenching creak as you force the command through, your Wright platform shudders as it begs to move at your command.
No luck.
Memories flutter through like butterflies in a forest, the twinkle of a smile with a grease stained nose.
Your hands find the tether for your drive suit, a sign of obsolescence.
A preserver of hope for you.
You needed to find the maintenance shaft.
Glimpse’s head had become so foreign to you, even amongst the sparks and fire. The firm coating of red light blurs any familiarity. Your eyes spy the tender love and care Heejin had afforded her.
The lick of a frown stains your lips as you catch glimpses of her art.
A Kaiju vaguely shaped like an alpaca guides you.
Glimpse shudders once again, another thunderous blow as sparks compound and flourish, a pain you dully feel through the death grip of the drift. Another croak of metallic anguish tears through your ears.
Your fingers clutch desperately for the maintenance hatch, heat melts and burns through your touch. Pain kindles through nerves, slow like molten magma.
A slow insidious creep, an invitation offered by a skeletal hand.
Ragged breathes are your only response as your muscles twitch and burn, strength was always her thing.
You should’ve joined her more at the gym, a small twitch of a smile collects on your lips.
Slowly Glimpse’s stubborn hatch moves inch by inch through heated pain.
Your throat burns as a cough growls through your lips, plumes of smoke roll through the opening like waves in an endless ocean.
Your grip slips like your ability to breathe, a cascade of mistakes outside of your control.
Heat flares and tangles viciously as your feet give way, stumbling as coughs rack through tender heated lungs.
An electrical fire in the maintenance, a glaring obstacle in your goal of Heejin's embrace.
Not entirely unplanned for.
Just not from this side.
Your feet camber as you reach desperately for any surface to pull yourself up onto, coughs ripple through like a disturbed lake on a stormy night.
Your lungs burn with breath you can take.
Your hands catch on to your Wright platform even as smoke slowly clusters your view, each movement is a brush stroke through sand.
You only hoped your attempts weren't missed guided as smoke burns through your lungs and sears at your eyes.
The encroach of smoke slowly saps away at your hope and life.
A certain key combination, planned or otherwise fills you with hope as you hear the rush of flame retardant flood the maintenance shaft.
A ghost of a smile licks at your lips through racked coughs and smoke filled air.
Yet, even still the smoke continues unabated, choking at you.
Your brain clings desperately at each neuron that fires in your brain.
Starve it, cut off the power and the fire should die.
It still leaves the smoke however.
A slow insidious death.
Ventilation was probably broken, even if it did work, shutting off power would kill it.
You swear you hear the whisper of Heejin's mind.
Eject the Wright platform.
Ventilation was nothing if not a giant hole.
Your brain stumbles with the thought, what if you needed the controls later?
You wouldn't be much help dead.
It's like the drag of a knife against your spine as you slowly boot up the eject sequence, your fingers dial through the power down sequence.
The power recapture unit should keep life support and minimal functions online, like Glimpse's core.
Even then your heart wrenches at the destruction you're about to inflict on your creation.
Does a Jovian feel pain?
You hope not.
You wince as smoke clogs your lungs, barely moving off the platform in time before it unceremoniously tears through Glimpse's head.
A metallic blood searing tear rends Glimpse asunder, the violent twist and curl of metal claws at your ears.
A pit settles in your stomach at such destruction.
Your lungs thank you as fresh air settles in your lungs, a crisp night bathed in the stars.
A sigh of relief as you stumble onto the ground… you still lived.
A full moon looms overhead.
Heejin.
Your body quickly jolted back into action as you desperately pried at the hatch.
She needed you.
The only thought that repeats through you as your muscles ache and complain.
It mattered not, she needed you.
Tumblr media
Slowly it moves, even with focus desperate might from your own hands.
Smoke still plumes through the hatch, lighter still than it was and less numerous.
Bearable.
Even as sweat stains your drivesuit, even as smoke is the only smell that clouds your nostrils, you're focused almost deadly so.
You thanked the drift, she was always your rock.
Your own mind would be lost and erratic, despite everything you were thankful.
There's a ghost of a smile, yet it wasn't of your own lips.
Drift was always an odd phenomenon.
Even as heat surges at your hands as you clamber down each bar, each rung. Yet you remained focused on the way her smile feels against her own lips.
The twist of joy and her crescent excited eyes.
Hopefully the Kaiju do well next season, you'll take her to every game.
She'll be glad Alpaca is coming back next season.
Each rung plunges you deeper into foreign depths, the cascade of smoke crests your skin with a gentle touch, shimmering slightly like stars in the night sky.
Perhaps smoke inhalation was getting to you?
Still, you cling to the remnants of sanity that you can, even as the next rung feels like quicksand, frayed echoes call at the edge of your brain.
Hope, trepidation, fear a greek chorus.
Yet it feels foreign, emotions not of your own making.
A flicker of a candle lit flame, Heejin’s heart… echoes from months long past.
Echoes of alcohol never had, grip your veins.
Your Jovian garage, cold and all so empty compared to recent months.
Your first meeting, her heart hugs liquid courage for warmth… for strength.
You’d never have guessed.
Guitar strums echo, her soft voice linger distantly so.
It’s weird feeling the grip of your own hand, familiar yet so alien and foreign.
I take picture of you
Especially best of you
You feel the glint of a smile pressed into her lips as you reveal a small orichalcum shard.
Your memento, your keepsake.
A thought not of your own lingers even in fragmented echoes.
Radiant.
A click of her contact.
Don’t care if it’s not really pretty
Just record now this time to share this feelings with you
There’s a palpable tension that clings thick to your skin, her skin.  Like water drenched denim, heavy and unpalatable.
“My dad was a Wright,” the words itch against your own tongue, burdened by thorns of worry.
The briefest flickers of your own memories trace her mind, crested by the fires of her own loss.
Your fingers loop through hers, warmth blooms deep in her chest.
To pull you close and rest her head on your shoulders, her deepest desire. To sit still in perfect synchronicity.
Each rung, each guitar strum drags you deeper into a beautiful abyss, whispers of smiles linger like cigarette smoke pulling and tugging at your mind.
Each tendril, each plume has a different vestige, a glimmer into Heejin.
Wisps chatter and hiss with frustration, lingering frustration at charcoal pucks bonded to yet another frying pan.
Flickers of warmth pull you, guided by Heejin’s soft melodious humming, brush strokes and scrawling pencils adrift in a sea dusted with glittering moonlight.
It’s warm adrift in the sea knee deep, it comes alive around your fingers, a glowing sapphire kissed blue.
Tranquil memories drift across your skin, Heejin’s smile crested into your own lips.
Good luck
It twists and glimmers across your skin, shifting to a memory that lingered not for you.
Traces of laughter and smiles, paint caked jumped suits.
Her idea.
Uncertainty trickles across your skin, held taut by anxiety. The faded grumbles of a whisper, the hesitant flicker of light in her eyes.
"Do you think she'd like some paint?"
Her fingers tick at the corner of her jacket.
"She'd be honoured Heekki."
The dance of joy in her eyes is effervescent yet subdued, a sold out show meant only for you.
There's a certain warmth to her art, lovingly packed kindness in each detail, each stroke.
You had come to know her many faces and love each one of them.
All of them reflections of the people in her life, the methodical calculations of Rolande, Nix's cheeky grin and the subdued deadly distance of her mother.
There was something unique in experiencing Heejin make art, something so unabashedly her.
The memory flickers and shifts despite your hold, it fades into whimpering embers.
A water fight in the bathroom, you catch the glitter of your smile as you instigate it.
A small dollop of soap on her nose, there's a surprised twist to her features, wide eyes and creased brows.
That's when you feel it, the blooming warmth of the sun settles in your chest, her chest.
Infatuation, nothing but a dying ember in response.
Despite the frown that played at her lips for the briefest of moments her fingers dart through cold crisp water.
Splashing you in her onslaught.
A smile dances across your lips and on to hers frozen delicately in that memory.
Finally your feet settle on solid ground again, your fingers still cling to the last rung.
"Took your sweet time," she chides a glimmer of teeth.
She's as beautiful as you remember, tartan dress and bomber jacket in tow, her fingers toy with her braid once again.
Her eyes glitter with stardust.
A wry smile plays on your lips, "Can't say I was use-"
She pulls you tight, burying her head in your neck. There's almost a soft joy to be had at her sudden touch.
Her voice cracks mumbling into your skin. "I'm so glad you're okay."
Suddenly you're knee-deep in a glowing blue sea again and everything feels perfect.
Your hands settle on her waist as you slowly rock side to side, a performance only for the moon.
"Of course, I'm not going anywhere Heekki," you hum into her scalp.
Her breath tickles your neck, a slight frown presses against your skin.
Slowly, rain starts to drizzle, beautiful and ice cold.
Tumblr media
Her eyes linger and float like bouncing waves, eventually she guides your own gaze to a distant balcony peering down at you two.
A conversation unsaid, echoes through the air.
Her fingers cling tight to you, like she'll fade into dust at any moment.
The waves around you growl with agitation, slowly growing taller by the crash.
Her hands crest your cheeks as the waves crash down you both.
Disparate echoes bounce through your ears.
"When I met you, it all clicked into place."
Her eyes locked on yours, searching deep inside you.
"I don't know how or when it happened, but I was thankful he found someone, thankful he abandoned me."
There's a desperate edge to her eyes verging on panic and frenzy.
"Why?" Spoken in your voice, but not with your mouth. Curiosity lined the words mirrored by your own.
There's a tremble in her fingers, an anxious tick.
"I found you and…" It parses through her own lips, her breath hitches, clawing for air. "And words can't even begin to describe it."
There's a quiver in your brow, hopeful and fearful as she presses her forehead against yours.
Her voice shakes barely above a whimper, almost hidden beneath the crashing waves.
"How hopelessly in love with you I was," words linger at the ends of her lips, thoughtful details and witty anecdotes fade as a flash of pain dots her features for a fraction of second.
She pulls your lips against hers in a primal, desperate need.
It explodes across your own mind, a crackle of a firework surged in your heart, pure exhilaration.
You claw desperately at your jacket, her jacket, anything to be closer to her at that moment.
Yet, there's a weird ache in your chest, in your mind even as you imbibe in long subdued passion.
An eerie discomfort strangles slowly at your brain. Even in the throes of your deepest desires, you still try to put your finger on it.
Something oddly amiss, she parts for the briefest of moments, a gasp for air before she dives back into your embrace.
That's when you feel it, a clatter against your own chest, the sound of two shards of crystal.
It's violent like a torrential wave, you sputter for air as you find yourself at the bottom of the maintenance shaft, once again.
There's a sad melancholic look painted on her face.
Tumblr media
You clutch desperately for the hatch, a faint deadly pain ripples through chest. It's suddenly so hard, your lungs filled to the brim with shattered glass.
You stumble and fall, pain echoes violently through your knees.
"I'm doing this for you," she whispers hands frolicking through your hair, you fight the urge to nuzzle into her grasp, to press your lips against silk skin.
You feel it, the agony warped lense of a child, her father grief-stricken and lost as the drift slowly washed away at his mind.
A time warped explosion ripples through your head.
The loss of her mother.
You can only watch as time lapses across her father's smile slowly taken by the drift. Until he's reduced to a shell of a man.
Lady Calosso took her in after her father's death, muffled words and hushed whispers never to truly understand the circumstances.
Even if her mind whispers them in the cold dead of night.
Still the lion in you growls and fights. A fire teemed with love and fiery passion, your fingers grasp at her collar.
It feels so real down to the last detail, yet it's nothing but an echo in the drift.
Your eyes linger on stray tears dancing softly against her cheeks. "Kai, please don't…"
A sob racks through her chest and echoes into yours. "I'm dying."
Your heart shatters like porcelain, another sob racks through her chest, her hand clutches at her heart.
Still your heart growls, "please."
The jagged shattered edges soften for a second.
"Bu-" She whispers, images of her father broken flicker through your mind.
Your hand traces her tears, a glimmer of a smile lines your teeth, familiar words dance across your lips.
Once spoken by her to you.
"I'm with you until the end."
A soft nod is all she offers as she drags you to your feet.
She presses a soft kiss into your lips.
You open the Hatch and you don't look back, even if you did you'd find no companionship.
A wave of heat greets you with smouldering embers, fractured hull strewn and concave.
The soft moonlit air drips serendipitously, Glimpse creaks under her own weight.
You find your dear pilot on her platform, pinned bloody and battered.
Her breath ragged and weak, blood cakes the edges of her lips and she's ghostly white.
She's still beautiful.
You rush to her side, doing your best to hide the lingering worry and dread.
"You know," she mutters weakly. "I can see why Wrights don't like Pilots mucking around with a Jovian."
A weak laugh escapes her lips accompanied with a flash of pain across her face.
"Shh," you coo, shuffling over to her side, resting her head on your lap.
Your fingers brush through blood-matted hair, tracing each delicate strand.
"Save your strength."
Her eyebrows knit together in protest, even as a blood-flecked cough lines her throat.
Yet she softens as you press a kiss into her brow, a silent acquiescence.
There's a soft wistful smile, "I heard Alpaca was joining the Kaiju again."
Her eyes widen, soft and delicate. A subtle shake of her head.
Your fingers loop into hers, "I was thinkin-"
She presses her fingers to your lips, a soft tremble.
Her voice is weak and dry, "I'm sorry we didn't get to go to the Starfall danc-"
You press a kiss into her hand, "it's okay," you hush.
Your grip tightens, "That just means you have to pay for the food, when we go to the games alright?"
There's a playful roll of her eyes, even through another bloody cough you hear the echoes of explosions and heavy mechanical footfalls.
The tremble in her hands grow stronger.
At least she wasn't alone in staring down the end.
Her hands paw weakly at your face.
One last request.
You feel her smile as you press a kiss into her lips, soft, delicate and beautiful.
Like a flower dancing along the rays of the sun.
Tumblr media
Until she falters and wilts away under your touch, a stray tear lingers in her afterglow.
Even beautiful flowers eventually wilt.
You offer her one last grace, pressing her eyes shut with the gentlest of touch.
Finally, you break.
Alone once again in the aftermath, sobs rack painfully through your chest, each repressed shard of glass claws through your throat.
Your heart begs for the waves of hurt to stop.
It never does, but slowly but surely you grow numb.
Still you don't move from your spot, fingers dancing through her hair.
The sounds of battle grow louder by the minute.
You feel a familiar hand jostle your shoulder even as you feel it held tight still in your grasp.
"You need to leave Kai," her voice but not her lips.
"What about her?"
"I'm dead Kai."
It hurts to see her, even if she was just an echo from the drift.
"I can't abandon her, not like everyone else."
"You didn’t, I was prepared to live alone and to die alone… You gave me more than I ever wanted," her voice is soft, pained. "So please Kai."
Tumblr media
Each shot burns less and less, even still it isn’t enough to fight the fractured echoes that linger in your mind, each shot fights an explosion, a mistake the replays in your head cutting your heart.
Your brain ticks away on ifs and maybes, battle plans and different loadouts, yet you keep latching onto one weak point, one fatal flaw.
You.
Maybe if you’d fixed the power issues she-
Another shot burns through your throat, there’s a concerned look from Sana and a pointed frown.
“Ka-”
You shrug her off, still lost in the pit of memories and despair, you snatch a quick swig of vodka when she isn’t looking.
Or at least when you think she isn’t looking, hours of alcohol abuse have left you worse for wear.
She frowns softly, “I’m gonna pretend you didn’t just do that.”
She saunters past the counter, “but I can’t keep serving you at least not tonight,” her eyes drift over you. “I’m sure Jiwoo would be more than willing to help you indulge.”
Fuck that noise, you see the way the nobles look at you, like some cursed reminder of a better person.
You stumble even with Sana’s help, “If you give me a moment to close up I ca-”
“Don’t worry about it,” you slur, stumbling out the entrance with surprising speed, the familiar sanctum streets warp in your drunken hazed mind.
Even still your mind lingers despite your best intentions, the cursed black Jovian.
Your palms rub against your face in familiar halls, your legs uncooperative jelly, faltering with each step.
You tumble, hard.
A wry smile plays across your lips expecting Heejin’s mocking laugh.
It doesn’t come.
Your head bangs against a familiar wooden door.
Home.
Even with a frown etched into your lips you struggle for your keys, unable to stand up any longer.
You imagine the roll of her eyes paired with playful laughter, “you could’ve been in Lord of the Rings because you’re leg-o-less.”
A sob racks through your laughter spilling into soft silent wailing as your brain crests into sleep’s domain.
Still memories and thoughts haunt your dreams, Heejin’s desperate plea lines your every thought, even as BM pulls you away from the wreckage, guilt etched into his voice as it cracks.
You hated the regret that lingered in his face anytime you crossed paths, heavy with guilt even with his strong shoulders.
Even still you miss the way her hands would feel against yours, soft and perfect.
A slight grumble pulls you close to the surface, a calloused hand pats your face prying you from your drunken slumber.
You feel annoyance line your throat, expecting BM, “Excuse me~”
For a moment everything melts away under her soothing voice, your eyes battle against the harsh glare of the lights.
You’re unable to pick out the details of her face as your eyes slowly adjust, a crown of light or maybe even a halo enshrouds her.
“Heekki?”
Her head tilts to the side as she leans down into a squat, a blonde cascade of hair, a well loved cycle jacket.
You feel a click against your chest, your necklace interlocked against hers, a red Tyrium necklace.
A Sun.
“Kim Jungeun,” She offers her hand, “But I also go by Lip.”
Her grip is strong, focused yet welcoming in the right places, “It’s a pleasure to meet you stranger.”
She offers a soothing smile, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.
“Could you please move out of the way of my dorm room?”

Heart-shaped arrow
Loona Heejin x reader
A girl, who doesn’t fall in love easily, had fallen to her best friend.
author’s note: this story was inspired by the song, Fallen by Lola Amour. Please listen to it! I hope you guys will like this story even tho it feels like a rush work. Stay safe everyone!
Tumblr media
In your school, The three of you, Heejin, and Hyunjin, are very popular. You guys are known as the best examples of beauty and brains and also because of your skills and talents.
Heejin is known for being a very artistic one who always wins art contests, Hyunjin is the popular varsity and hyper, and lastly, You are known as the musician or the musical genius of the group and has a youtube channel where you post cover songs.
You've been best friends since middle school. From there, you have this unbreakable bond and decided to go to the same high school.
The three of you are in Hyunjin's house. Heejin and you are on Hyunjin's bed giggling at how Hyunjin tells about her interaction with her crush and your senior, Jinsoul. She was very immersed in her own story that she even acts for every scenario.
"You know she can tell a story without actions. I can't stop chuckling because she looks stupid." Heejin whispered to you.
"I guess she didn't even know that she's doing it. It's her habit and it got worse when the topic is about Jinsoul unnie."  you smiled.
Both of you chuckled as you continue to watch Hyunjin who is now staring blankly in space, smiling as she remembers her and her crush's interactions the other week.
Earlier that week, Jinsoul gave Hyunjin some energy drink before her championship match started, resulting in Hyunjin winning and being the MVP. Almost everyone knows about Hyunjin's big fat crush on her senior Jinsoul. The said girl was the blonde and president of the music club of which you are a part.
On the other hand, you and your crush were talking to each other basically regularly.
You're not the sort to fall in love easily, so these kinds of emotions are still unfamiliar to you. And your two other best friends know this, so they don't even bother to ask about it.
However, you fell in love this time. You were unaware of how and when it begins. You were mistaken to believe that it was merely an infatuation. Every time you spend time with her, these feelings keep deepening. At first, you don't want to mention it since you think falling in love with one of your best friends was a horrible idea.
You can't really blame yourself for admiring Heejin, though. It was difficult to resist having feelings for her. She is ideal. God spent his time creating her features and giving her such talent.
It will take some time for you to provide the list of reasons why practically everyone is drawn to her. Like receiving gifts during lunch or at dismissal wasn't unusual.
The past few months of Hyunjin being busy with the upcoming sports league at their school made the two of you bond more with each other. You think that it was one of those days when you started to realize your feelings towards Heejin.
Your feelings got more and more clear every time you bond. You and Heejin spend time doing artwork. There are times wherein you teach her to play other instruments which Heejin boasts to Hyunjin then the latter will come up to you frowning and say "I want to learn too."
However, you enjoy spending time with Heejin the most when she visits and you can jam together in your music room. Hyunjin occasionally joins you and Heejin, and performs on the keyboard.
Bringing you back to reality, Hyunjin leaves the room after saying, "I'm going to get my cat downstairs." making the two of you alone.
While you continued to recline back on the headrest, Heejin lay down on the bed. The bunny-looking girl hugs your waist as if she's going to sleep.
You'll be lying when you'll say that this current position is not making your heartbeat more quickly than usual. You got used to her being clingy and all but sometimes it still caught you off guard
The other girl is trying to fall asleep, and you decide to entertain yourself by opening your phone. You were gently pinching the bunny's arm when you felt her head turn to look at you.
You put your phone away and turned to face Heejin.
"What's the matter?" you asked.
Heejin contemplating whether to ask it or not. "I just want to ask. Have you fallen in love?"
You were surprised by the question and just stares at the other girl.
What if I told you that I have. I fell in love with you.
You want to express such feelings to the other girl, but you realize it is not the correct moment. Although you badly want to confess, you are unable to do so because of your friendship. You are happy and content with your current situation.
However, a part of you is still holding out for more.
The silence broke when the owner of the room opens the door holding her cat with the bags of chips.
"What's with the silence?" She asked calmly and gave the chips to the two.
"Nothing. I was trying to fall asleep." Heejin answers it immediately.
You and Heejin make a room for Hyunjin when she goes in between you.
"No one going to sleep 'cause we're going to watch a horror movie." The cat person excitedly opens Netflix on her tv.
Days went by, and Heejin's question has never been answered. It was never brought back to the topic every time you meet.
She has liked you since their junior year, to be honest. She discovered herself supporting you more than simply as a friend when you performed for the music club recital. Heejin found your musical talent, as well as your adorable face with its dimples when you smile and laugh, quite charming.
So asking that question was a little bit nervous for Heejin. She doesn't know what her reaction will be when you answer her with a 'yes'. She can be relieved that you have fallen at last or annoyed and left wondering to whom you have fallen.
The other day, Heejin pays a surprise visit to your house. She didn't see you in your room and she exactly knows where she'll find you.
Heejin knocks on the farthest door. Standing in front of it, she can already hear the saxophone being played by someone.
She knocks again but louder this time.
The sound of the instrument stops. You opened the door and were surprised to see Heejin.
"H-Heejin, I didn't know you'll come here today. Did you message me? I haven't checked my phone yet. I'm sorry." You said a little confusion in your voice.
"Relax. I got bored in our house and Hyunjin has sudden plans with Jinsoul Unnie today so.....I think I should've messaged you first. You seem so busy." Heejin scratched her temple feeling sorry.
"I'm not that busy but currently working on something. It's fine by the way, you and Hyunjin are always welcome here." You open the door widely to let Heejin come in.
You went to your laptop, leaning on your table as you arrange some of your recordings.
"What are you working on?" The bunny asked out of curiosity.
She sat on your swivel chair and put her arm around your waist, side hugging you.
Since you can't yet let her listen to the song, you replied with a kind of worried "Uh, some song? Well, it's still not finished though."
"Can I hear it?" Heejin and Hyunjin have listened to your songs and creations before.
"Not today, Miss." You said and laughs when you saw how the other beaming girl's lips frowned.
You faced her and hold her face to play with her cheeks.
Heejin, on the other hand, is examining your features as she stares at you. Despite the fact that you two aren't doing anything, she is currently quite content and happy with you right now.
You removed your hands and notice a glint of pink shade on her cheeks. You began to feel your cheeks felt hot too.
Both of your hearts are beating very fast because of the interactions.
Shaking your head slightly, you looked to your laptop to find that your work had been successfully saved.
"What do you like to do right now, bunny? Have you eaten yet?" you asked.
The other girl got up from the chair and took a little tour of the room to find something interesting.
She held up the saxophone and said, "I've heard you play this earlier while waiting outside the door. Would you mind teaching me?"
"I wouldn't, but let me get our spare saxophone so you can use it." You stand up and proceed to get the spare instrument.
The whole afternoon they only spend time in the music room. Every time Heejin's breathing becomes uncontrollable and she makes strange noises, you chuckle, but at least Heejin has gained new things. (I guess)
A week had passed, You have been debating whether to release your video about your new song for the past week. It's not yet fully finished but it can be a preview for the songs and ready to be posted on your account.
You cannot remember how many times you had played your video.
You've already included the caption, saying, "A month ago, someone special to me asked if I had fallen in love. It was difficult for me to answer right away. After a few days, I put my thoughts into a song, which I believe was the best way for me to explain my feelings at the time, that leads to the creation of this song."
You review your video for the last time before posting it.
In the first seconds of your video, you smiled at the camera, guitar in your hands before you played the prerecorded other instrumentals. You then began singing the lyrics.
"What if I told you that I've fallen?
And I like the way you say my name
My heart skips a beat when I hear you calling
And I like that it won't go away
But never mind, don't wanna give you any trouble
Never mind, never mind
I'm okay with being by your side for as long as I can hide
What if I told you that I've fallen?
I know that it won't ever stop
You know I'll be there when you call me whether you like it or not
Without a warning, now I'm falling for this picture on my phone
But don't mind me I'm just falling, I'll get back up on my own
Please don't say my name
Help me put out this flame
I'd rather hold onto this feeling that you don't even believe in
What if I told you that I've fallen? "
The video finished. It is now time for you to finally post it.
You can hear your heart thumps a loud before pressing the 'post' button.
The moment you see "Upload done" on your laptop, you start to shake lightly with excitement and nervousness.
If you're being completely honest with yourself, you're very concerned about Heejin's reaction. Will she get its message? Will you two remain friends despite this?
You closed your laptop with a mild amount of aggression. You left the house after getting your wallet and car keys, leaving your phone in your room.
Driving out of nowhere just to distract yourself.
About an hour in the park, It started to rain and your only option is to head home.
You took a hot shower and lay down on your bed.
Something lights up on the side table. It was your phone.
Your notification is flooded with good reactions and comments from your video. You turned it off and closed your eyes.
A familiar ringtone for a certain person made your eyes open again. You took your phone to open the message.
It is from Heejin.
You cannot stop smiling widely as your heartbeat raises fast again but with joy reading her messages.
Heebunny sent you a message (1:43 pm).
what if I told you that I've fallen?
the heart-shaped arrow through my chest.
without a warning, now I'm falling for you and I know that it won't ever stop.

Jeon Heejin | Countless Ditches
Request: hi again, it’s anon 🦦 i forgot to add to the heejin request that it’s prompt 19 for angst thank u !
Prompt 19: “you didn’t just break promises, you broke me.”
Gender neutral reader!!
A/n: I’m so sorry for abandoning this account again I promise I’m officially back this time 😭
this is not really proof read, oops
Tumblr media
“Where were you last night?” You asked with your arms crossed practically fuming over the disappearance of your girlfriend, Heejin.
Heejin smiled apologetically, “I’m sorry I-”
“Yeah yeah your sorry can you tell me what you’ve been doing that you missed out on us last night?” you cried out, “cut the sorrowful act Jeon Heejin and tell me what you’ve been doing.”
“We were supposed to have a date last night, but you once again ditched me for god knows what reason this time.”
Heejin stood still, shoulders tense and her hand tucked behind her neck, harshly scratching it over the guilt that swallowed her whole. And you were used to it, as unfortunate as it may be you predicted your girlfriend was doing something suspicious. She never told you the reason why she’s been missing out on dates, apologizing countless times and calling it a day.
You sighed, taking your gaze off her and walking up stairs silently, her pleads for you to come back not attracting you back anymore.
This has been going on for weeks now. You were scared she might’ve been cheating on you, the worst of worst scenarios popping up in your head driving you insane. You kept telling yourself she wouldn’t do such a thing, she loved you, at least that’s what she always said.
Even if she did cheat on you, she would’ve broken up with you right? Falling out of love isn’t uncommon so if that was the case she would’ve spoken up right?
You groaned, squeezing your eyes shut and burying your face in a pillow, “why does this keep happening to me.” You whined, “Jeon Heejin you drive me insane I swear.”
Something in the deepest pit of your stomach knew something odd was going on with your so much of a beloved girlfriend, why wouldn’t she tell you anything else besides a sorry? you knew you had to get to the bottom of this, one way or another. You two have grown unexpectedly distant after she kept ditching your hang outs and whatever activities you planned.
The soft knock coming from your door tore you away from your thoughts, “y/n please hear me out, I swear I wasn’t doing anything bad.” Heejin pleaded, “babe please open the door.”
You sighed burying your face deeper into the pillow under you heard footsteps vanishing away from the door. You couldn’t bare to face her after the weird feeling you had about her.
Heejin headed toward the kitchen, grabbing at glass of water and plopping herself down on the wooden chair. Her palm rested on her forehead, clear distress written over her face.
It’s not like she’s doing this on purpose, at least that’s what she thinks. She felt her heart drop after what had just happened. You never walked out on her like that, “Heejin don’t think too much about it, you just missed one date.”
“Two dates”
“Okay three dates isn’t too much”
“Four..”
“Five…”
She felt her vision growing blurry at a realization, feeling her tears run down her cheeks. She scoffed, “Six dates Heejin. You ditched six dates.”
Her heart clenched, too much for her to bare. She tried wiping her continuous tears away from her face, “how could I be this stupid.” She cried out, “I’m such a bad girlfriend, I don’t deserve them.”
Heejin realized how many promises she made about meeting you and taking you out on a date, feeding you your favorite foods and giving you the best time of your life.
“Promises aren’t meant to be broken” she remembers you say when she ditched you a second time. “Why Heejin.. what happened?”
“God I truly messed up” Heejin thought, swirling the glass of water around, “how could I even make it up to them if they wish to not even talk to me?”
She swore to herself not to miss out on anything anymore. Heejin swore she wasn’t doing anything bad, seeing you serious sent her into a spiral, she couldn’t even speak when she saw the glistening look of hurt and fire in your eyes, she forgot to fulfill the promises she whispered in your ear lovingly at night.
Heejin got up to try again, hoping that this time around you’d open the door. But before she headed to the stairs she saw you walk down, brushing passed her to satisfy your empty stomach with food.
“Hey I-”
“You’re sorry right? I know.”
“Listen-”
“For what? The hundredth time Heejin? You say the same thing over and over again you don’t even tell me a valid reason. I think I’ve listened enough.”
“Y/n I’m serious just hear me out”
“How about you hear me out Heejin? You’ve never done that once after you started this weird ass ditching streak you’ve been doing”
“you didn’t just break promises, you broke me” you cried, slamming the fridge shut. “You promised me you wouldn’t break your promises and here you are, doing not what you said.”
“You hurt me so bad I thought you were cheating on me, that you lost interest in me.”
Heejin’s breath hitched among your words, “I would never do that.”
“How would I know after you said this same thing with each of the promises you broke? It’s getting tiring Heejin.” You sighed, “what’s gotten into you? Why can’t you just tell me why you’ve been missing out on our dates?”
“Do you know how many times I dressed up for you? Waiting in front of the door excited to see the love of my life take me out on a date? Ready to pour my love for the woman I fell deeply for? How many times I got tired of waiting and took everything off to go cry in my bed while you do god knows what? Do you know Heejin? Do you?”
“Y/n, babe, please let me make it up to you.” Heejin pleaded grabbing your hands to cup her face while she cried, “I swear I’m not lying to you I was truly just practicing, you know we have a comeback soon. I would never cheat on you ever ever ever not in a million years would I ever do that.”
“Ask Haseul ask Yeojin they know I’ve been practicing non stop every damn day to get the dance right” Heejin hiccuped, “You have to believe me please!”
“Why didn’t you just tell me you were practicing then? You keeping your mouth pierced shut made me suspicious of you Heejin.”
Heejin shook her head, “I was scared.”
“Scared of what Heejin?” You raised your voice a little higher than hers. “I was scared you wouldn’t believe me and I know it’s stupid of me to say but it’s true. I stood you up so many times I wasn’t sure if you’d believe me at that point.” Heejin whispered.
The atmosphere grew too heavy for you to bare. Sounds of the wind coming through the window was all you heard. A singular drop fell down your cheek, “Heejin-”
“I’ll learn to be a better girlfriend and keep my promises just please, please let me make it up to you.”
You looked away from her, snatching your hands back. “I’ll think about it.”

Hi! can I request gf heejin headcanonns please?
Tumblr media
Dating Heejin From Loona Would Include:
•Heejin met you for the first time when she accidentally dropped something on the ground in front of a old shop. It were very cliché since you both made eye contact after touching each other's hand by clumsiness. Which she immediately apologized for while trying not to stutter. Let's say you both fell in love at first sight.
•You have your first date with Heejin in a shop for Vinyl's , Album's, EP'S and Cassettes. You both put headphones on and you introduced her to Ray Charles music. She smiled because you danced when the shop were crowded.
•Heejin sometimes questions how she got so lucky to have you in her life. Because of her hard idol life and her fear of people. Which you reassured her right away with the fact that you both lucky and that you love her for who she is.
•You smile to yourself when you watch her writing song's in the music studio while her bandmates tried to have a conversation with her. Which she definitely couldn't pay attention towards a lot. Because music is obviously her passion.
•Heejin get's you every merchandise of Loona which you often wear on tour's, concert's or on any interviews to show support and appreciate to your girlfriend's girl group.
•You photograph and record Heejin's parts at concerts with your camera or video camera. You would never admit it in public too often but you absolutely love Heejin's deep voice.  It were so smooth in your opinion.
•Heejin has her cheeks flushed red when you would stare at her or smile which reaches your eyes at her via side stage.
•You noticed how Heejin’s bandmates smirked when you come back into the room’s and Heejin having red flushed cheeks. They thought they teased your girlfriend sneakily which failed.
•Heejin asked you to marry her in front of the fans and her bandmates when she let a small jewelry box drop on the ground. She acts shocked and get’s on one knee to give a speech about how much you mean to her and how much she really appreciate you in her life. Of course you said 'yes' half sobbing half laughing. Her bandmates laughed and sobbed while recording the Moment just like almost every fan. Which didn’t pass out by how romantic the moment were.
•You often sat on the piano when Heejin played it smoothly without looking at the piano. Her eyes stared at you with admiration and stars in the eyes.
•Heejin often writes song’s about you and asked her members to write a wedding song about your relationship with her. They immediately agreed at it. They sang it at the wedding when you had your first wife and wife dance with Heejin. Pictures and recorded videos of you both played in the background.
•You couldn’t get enough from your girl Heejin especially when you both made out together.
•Heejin married you at a beautiful park with many different flower’s and next at the beach. Tears rolled down everyone’s cheeks. Everyone giggled at the wedding when you and Heejin almost fell on the ground clumsily. Luckily you caught her.
•You smiled and attacked her face with kisses when she rambled a long apology for stepping on your foot while dancing a few times since she is very nervous. You thought she is the cutest when she is that clumsy.
•Heejin took you to Paris and Bora Bora on a honeymoon. Since she wanted to be alone with you and far away from everything else. So she could just focus on you both and the honeymoon only.
•You both remembered the first met, date, engagement and wedding very in details. Your children loved listening to them especially when Heejin’s bandmates told the rest. Since your family still hang out with Heejin’s bandmates and their own families just like a huge family. Which they basically were.

Your shoulders were tense as you trailed behind Heejin, nervously running your hands through your hair. Sinking your teeth into your bottom lip you reached out to slip your hand into your girlfriend, pulling her back before she could enter the building. She turned to you, smiling brightly as she tilted her head inquisitively. “Are you sure about this?” You said, voice quiet as you began to second guess the idea of meeting her members for the first time.
“I mean, what if they don’t like me? Maybe we should just go,” you began to ramble endlessly, nerves taking over. Heejin watched you with a fond gaze, squeezing your hand in hopes of bringing you back to reality. “You’ll be fine, jagiya,” she insisted, pulling you into the building, ignoring your protests. “I’m sure they’ll love you, I mean you managed to charm me after all.” You looked at her with raised eyebrows, huffing incredulously.
“Heejin, I literally spilled coffee on you when we first met!” You exclaimed, only to receive a smile in response. “I know, but then you took me on an apology coffee date after,” she smiled brightly at you, the elevator dinging. “Only because I felt bad and you suggested it as a way to make up for your stained shirt.” You recalled your first date with her, making your girlfriend hum. “And aren’t you glad I did?” She swiftly changed the topic, to which you shot her a pointed glare.
“Too late, we're here anyways,” Heejin beamed. Much to your surprise, you found yourself being tugged inside her dorm, not even realising you’d followed her all the way there. The first thing you noticed being the overwhelming amount of noise coming from every direction, shouts resounding around the apartment. You jumped back in shock as someone zipped past you at the speed of light, screaming bloody Mary as another body followed closely behind.
You looked at your girlfriend like a deer in headlights, met with her sheepish smile as she shrugged her shoulders. You stood frozen in the doorway, Heejin by your side as chaos ensued all around you. The sound of a gunshot making you flinch as your eyes landed on the source, a TV in what you assumed was the lounge. “I win!” A blonde who you recognised as Jungeun yelled out, throwing her arms up in celebration. “No you didn’t, you died unnie,” a dark haired girl deadpanned. ‘Hyejoo?’ You thought to yourself.
Eyes flickering briefly to the kitchen, you caught sight of a seemingly calmer and quieter girl. Her gaze was focused on the stove, shaking her head in amusement at the others while brushing a stray strand of pink from her face. “Hey Heejin, who’s your friend?” Yet another blonde came into your line of sight, a greasy grin on her lips. “This is Y/n, and Y/n, this is Jinsoul unnie,” your girlfriend introduced. You gave a tight lipped smile to the older girl, bowling respectfully.
“She’s pretty Heejin-ah,” a tall brunette lingered behind Jinsoul, sending you a wink. “She has a name Sooyoung,” another girl popped out of thin air, pushing the older two away. “Sorry about them, they don’t get out much. I’m Haseul, nice to finally meet you,” she spoke elegantly, ignoring the complaints from behind her as she sent you a warm smile. “Come on, I’ll introduce you to the others,” your girlfriend dragged you further into the dorms.
A high-pitched squeal caught you off guard as a hand wrapped around your torso in a tight hug. “You must be Y/n!!!” She shouted in your ear, although surprised, you found her welcoming actions calming. “Let the poor girl breathe Jiwoo unnie,” a crunchy voice spoke, the older reluctantly releasing her iron grip on you with one final squeeze. “I’m Chaewon, and this is Yerim,” she pointed to the purple haired girl who was jumping around excitedly.
“I’ve heard so much about you!” Yerim exclaimed, giving you a quicker hug in comparison to Jiwoo. “Yeah, we were starting to wonder if you were real or not,” a dark haired girl chimed in, earning a scowl from Heejin. “Hyunjin or Aeong,” she introduced, suddenly meowing like a cat. You looked at your girlfriend in confusion, but she only shrugged her shoulders. Looking back at the cat-like girl you smiled in amusement, taking a liking to her somehow charming strangeness.
“Come meet Kahei unnie,” Heejin stared at you away from Hyunjin, unsure of how to explain the meowing. Entering the kitchen, you noticed the familiar pink haired girl from earlier, a smaller girl now standing by her side. “Is this your girlfriend?” The older girl asked, a soft smile gracing her lips. “Hello, I’m Y/n,” you bowed, waving shyly at the two new faces. “No need for formalities, you’re part of the family now,” Kahei approved of your relationship.
“Hi,” the younger girl waved, instantly striking up conversation. “I’m Yeojin by the way, I’m sure we’ll be good friends.” She stated confidently, to which you nodded, already feeling comfortable in her presence. “Last stop, Hyejoo and Jungeun unnie,” Heejin linked her arm with yours as you headed for the lounge trying to get through everyone as fast as possible.
You cowered at the harsh gazes that burned holes in your head, using your girlfriend’s body as a shield. “Guys this is my girlfriend Y/n,” Heejin announced nonchalantly, although you could tell she was just putting up a confident front. When in reality she was shaking with fear, desperate to gain the approval of all her members, knowing that the two resting lazily on the couch would be hardest to win over.
“What are your motives?” Jungeun asked with raised brow, leaning forward inquisitively. Your eyes widened slightly at the question, wanting to prove yourself to them, but the intimidating stares were sending you into a spiral of panic.“I-I uh, I just really care-” You were cut off by a loud burst of laughter, confusion flooding your thoughts as you looked at Jungeun curiously. “I’m just messing with you, she's cute Heejin,” she said. Still unsure of the current situation you turned to your girlfriend, seeing her sigh in relief at the acceptance of your relationship.
“If you hurt her I will break you,” Hyejoo threatened with a smirk, still not having quite warmed up to you.You audibly gulped at her statement, blinking rapidly, you felt Heejin’s hand slip into yours. She rubbed soothing circles on your knuckles, pulling you down onto the couch. You shuffled away from Hyejoo anxiously, not wanting to find out what she was capable of, the death stare she was giving you was enough to scare you off. Jungeun chuckled, smacking the younger girl on the shoulder, rolling her eyes at the bizarre antics of her member.
“How did you manage to get yourself such a pretty one?” Sooyoung pestered Heejin, talking about you as if you weren’t right beside her. Your girlfriend looked at you, grinning toothily as she reminisced about your fateful meeting for the second time that day. “I just got lucky,” she responded, a blush coating your cheeks. Heejin was far too entranced by you to even hear the scoff that slipped past Sooyoung’s lips or the teasing that came from Jinsoul and Chaewon.
You found yourself being swept into their world of chaos, a smile tugging on Heejin’s lips as she watched Yerim and Yeojin drag you to play some game with them. Jiwoo follows closely behind, asking you questions at lightning speed as she lets her interest in you take over. Haseul yelled at her from a distance, warning her not to scare you off before they even got to know you.  You gazed over your shoulder for a brief moment, catching your girlfriend staring, you sent her a joyful smile. She mirrored your expression, heart filled with happiness at the sight of you interacting with her members.
“She fits in well,” Haseul said fondly, slipping into the seat beside Heejin. “You think so?” Your girlfriend asked hopefully. “Definitely, I’m glad you’re happy Heejin-ah,” the leader smiled. “Thanks unnie,” she mumbled, all her fears about them not supporting the relationship disappearing at Haseul’s comforting words. “But you should probably go save her from the hyper children before anything happens.”
