With the end of of the event slowly approaching, I just need to say that... listen, Lantern Rite of 2024 was good, but I will hold the ending scene of Lantern Rite 2023 up to the skies like it's Simba into perpetuity and then some more. Not because it was my first Lantern Rite, but because it's everything that represents Liyue in every possible way. The goofiness of Hu Tao and Xinyan (listen, I know, it wasn't the greatest song, but even that has grown on me), the Qixing, Baizhu and the wonder on Qiqi's face that should be what everyone looks like when they first see the lanterns in the night sky, Xiao, the ascension of the lanterns into the skies, the crowd, Yaoyao's excitement (!!!!), Ganyu's little lantern, everyone, everyone. Ugh, 'May the year ahead be a blessed one - I believe it shall be' (the faith in his people, stop it), CLOUD RETAINER, the orchestra, Madame Ping's zither after the entire storyline, THE ORCHESTRA!! I'm fine about this game, I promise.
I just really love this game, and I really love Liyue.
P.S.: I'm still going to badger people for Lantern Rite threads.

Poll adventure (paventure? lol) Day 4: read the small story tidbit below the poll for more details, OR just vote based on initial impression
(✦ see past poll results + further information HERE (link) ✦)
The winning option of yesterday's poll was that the adventurer should offer the Well Creature some bread and soup ….
"Completely unsure how to even begin to interact with the strange creature from the well, The Adventurer recalls reading in a book once that 'food is a universal language', or uh.. something like that.. thus, some hearty soup and bread would surely bridge any communication barriers... probably. He serves the little cannister of broth cold, straight from his bag just dumped into a wooden bowl, mostly because he's far too nervous to try and start a fire with someone watching.. hopefully they won't mind the food not being warmed..
After gently placing a single bread roll next to the soup, he steps back, gesturing towards the meal with an uncertain smile. The creature pauses, sniffs around, then promptly disappears back into the darkness. Just as The Adventurer begins to sulk over his apparent rejection, something stirs behind him... With a rush of creaking and plopping noises, the creature resurfaces, revealing it's massive serpent-like body as it hoists itself over the crumbled stone of the well's edge with it's many arms. It cracks open it's mighty jaw just far enough for a tiny blue tongue to slither out, then politely slurps at the soup, delicate enough not to spill any.
Stumbling backwards in shock, The Adventurer simply sits there staring the entire time whilst the creature happily (and rather quickly) enjoys their meal... Seemingly appreciative of his kind offerings, another strange slinking arm creeps up from the depths of the well, daintily opening a velvet sack with it's claws and laying out a small assortment of items onto the grass. Still a bit shaken, but also never one to turn down a free gift, The Adventurer senses that the creature intends for him to take any single item of his choosing... but, which one?"

i want a scene in s5 that goes something along the lines of:
mike is rambling. this is after they’ve confessed, and mike is worried about will separating from him to go fight the upside down. mike wants to stay with him, but he’s needed for another mission. will pulls him aside and grabs him by the shoulders.
“i have to tell you something important,” he says, to mikes confusion considering they already decided to talk about their relationship after they stopped the end of the world. “i don’t need you.”
mike blinks, jerking back like he’s been shocked. it feels like a break up, even though they aren’t technically dating, but he knows will doesnt mean it like that, and waits for him to continue.
“you mentioned… in the van… that you were afraid when you were dating el because you thought she didn’t need you anymore, and that’s the thing, mike. i don’t need you either.”
mike’s face falls, wondering what his purpose could possibly be if he isn’t needed by the most important people in his life.
will squeezes his shoulders gently. “i just want you.”
hope spreads across mikes face, though he doesn’t look to believe what will is saying. “what?”
“i don’t need you, mike. when i was in lenora, it… i mean, it sucked, and i missed you and the rest of the party so much, but i was okay. i didn’t break. and… and i still don’t need you. i just want you mike. its not that i cannot survive without you, it’s just that i don’t want to. because my life isn’t right unless you’re there. so trust me when i say i can handle this, mike. and we’ll talk when it’s over.”
mike pulls him closer and presses a thumb against his lips, a silent question that will answers without hesitation.
the kiss is barely a peck, but it’s a promise. mike interlocks their fingers and pulls their hands up to his face, kissing will’s fingers firmly before letting go.
“i’ll see you soon, will. be careful.”

I started watching Spy X Family and I didn't realize it was gonna be so fucking cute.
Fake dating/married is one of my favourite tropes ever. And I loved Mr and Mrs Smith. So this is right up my alley however.
I can just tell it's gonna be an extremely slow burn romance and I'm already dying. Loid and Yor are so flipping cute.
The JJK chokehold remains but now we get to add some slow burn, pining, and unrequited (but actually not) feelings (at least I'm assuming. It feels like that kind of prolonged misunderstanding).
Bring it.

Do you want to get married again?
"Ah, no. That's - um, a bit too soon to think about considering I've only recently, uh, seperated from my wife..." Kirk swallows, blinking rapidly as he averts his gaze. A bit too soon? More like a lot too soon and his feelings would remain that way indefinitely even if by some miracle he managed to find another to love as much as he still loved Francine.
You don't deserve it, not when you never appreciated what you had until it was too late.
